It Is Beginning. Pelosi Starting With Games

Hey folks,

Happy Monday to you. Well, if there was any doubt, or if there was any hope that Speaker Pelosi was telling the truth of "partnership," this may be a sign that she is not trustworthy, nor intelligent enough to protect this country.

According to the AP yesterday, AP- Pelosi hints at denying Bush Iraq funds

"Democrats now running Congress will not give President Bush a blank check to wage war in Iraq, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Sunday, suggesting they could deny him the money should he call for additional troops.

Yet Pelosi's second-in-command and a Senate leader on foreign affairs questioned the wisdom and legality of using the power of the purse to thwart the White House as Bush prepared to announce his revised war strategy this week — perhaps on Wednesday.

Republicans, now in the minority, said more troops were needed to get a handle on the spiraling violence in Iraq. They also cast doubt whether Democrats would — or could — block the president's plans. "Congress is incapable of micromanaging the tactics in the war," said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky."

How about, that’s NOT their job. There is only ONE Commander and Chief. He is the President of the United States of America. They can attempt to rewrite, misquote, play games, but the fact remains, the Commander and Chief is the one in charge.

Now according to this article, Speaker Pelosi said she would not cut funding to those already there. But,

"The burden is on the president to justify any additional resources for a mission," said Pelosi, D-Calif. "Congress is ready to use its constitutional authority of oversight to question what is the justification for this spending, what are the results we are receiving."

"There's not a carte blanche, a blank check for him to do whatever he wishes there," she added in an interview taped Saturday and broadcast Sunday.

So I guess what Pelosi is saying is if the troops over there need more support, as even some LWL Generals and members have said, tough. She is going to attempt to cut funding, and attempt to "stick it to" President Bush. So you are on your own over there.

Keep in mind also, They can talk the talk, but, one, they do not have the votes to do anything without Republicans on board. Two, the President has a dusty Veto pen that could come out to keep them in check on other things as well. So by playing games with troops lives, they are not going to be accomplishing much, as I have already told you. As Senator Biden said,

"As a practical matter, there's no way to say, 'Mr. President, stop,'" Biden said, unless enough congressional Republicans join Democrats in persuading Bush that the strategy is wrong. "You can't go in and, like a tinker toy, and play around and say, 'You can't spend the money on this piece and this piece.'"

As this indicates, they have no clue. They do not care about winning. Now with this talk about cutting funding, they do not care about the troops. They are truly ignorant.

"Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., told Bush in a letter last week that Democrats oppose additional U.S. forces in Iraq and want him to begin withdrawing in four months to six months American troops already there."

The rest is blah, blah, blah. For the war, against the war. My main problem is that these people are coming across as completely ignorant to the fact they are ignorant. They want to play politics with our soldiers lives. They want to "get Bush" as I and many others warned you about. They do not care about you, your children, this country, nothing. They have power now, they want to use it.

I’m glad that the truth is they do not have that large of a majority to do all that much damage. Also the reality of the situation is that they will most likely talk big and bad, for their Looney fringe base, then give the money anyway. They really do not have a choice. They will attempt to find a way to make it seem as if it was their idea, say they had no choice {For the troops sakes} or simply the truth, they do not have enough power to do everything they want, so vote for them in 08, then can they really denigrate this country.

Did you expect anything else from Ms. Pelosi? We both already knew that she would continue the strategy of undermining the President and the Republicans.

Bipartisanship--HA

I just saw an article from a source that I consider leftwing 98 % of the time but the article did bring up a good point that the Democrats talk about ethics reform is nothing but smoke and mirrors.

You know make it look like you are doing something but ensure that there are loopholes that basely makes the whole thing just a shell game.

Hey Sam,

Yeah I know. I keep hoping that she was telling the truth about partnership, not partisanship. But the more and more she talks, the more and more people are seeing her for what she is. The magic word of the day yesterday, started by Sheehan is “Escalate.”

They say he wants to escalate the war. What he wants is more troops to end the problems and bring them ALL home. They should be for this, but then again, more troops means we could win. They can’t have that, now can they? It is amazing to watch. Got to love the bipartisanship shown by the LWL.

I’ll check out that story a little later. Thanks for the info.
