300 Under Investigation of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.

Hey folks,

OK, let's re-word the above headline. "300 US Troops Under Investigation of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse." FRONT PAGE NEWS!!! The New York Crimes would run a full front page cover story. It would most likely take up two to three pages, including Op-Ed stories. You clink on the Internet and you would see headlines like, "What Did Bush Know and When Did He Know It?" "President Bush’s Regime At It Again." President Bush Should Be Impeached and Tried For War Crimes" "US Troops Committing Unspeakable Acts." ETC.

You would see photos of Iraqi / {place country name here} children. You would have all the talking heads debating this. The standard LWL attacking, the standard Rights defending. This would even knockout all the doddering over Speaker Pelosi.

This is TRUE. It is even happening as we speak. 300 Under Investigation of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.

"The United Nations has investigated more than 300 members of U.N. peacekeeping missions for alleged sexual exploitation and abuse during the past three years and more than half were fired or sent home, according to a senior U.N. official.

The announcement came as the United Nations was trying to determine whether a report in a British newspaper involved new allegations or ones the U.N. had investigated or was investigating. The Daily Telegraph report alleged U.N. personnel in southern Sudan were involved in sexual exploitation and abuse of more than 20 children.

U.N. Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Jane Holl Lute said Friday that the U.N. has done more in the last two years than ever before to try to combat sex abuse in its 16 peacekeeping missions "but we're not satisfied with where we are."

With nearly 200,000 people from more than 100 countries rotating through the peacekeeping missions every year, some people "are going to behave badly," she told a news conference. "What's different now is ... our determination to stay with this problem ... and constantly improve our ability to deal with it.""

Did you see that? " More than half were fired or sent home, according to a senior U.N. official." SO, three hundred "Peacekeepers" are accused of sexual exploitation, some of which are children. HALF have been fired or sent home which would indicate that there is at least some circumstantial evidence of their guilt.

"This resulted in the summary dismissal of 18 civilians and the repatriation of 17 international police and 144 military personnel, she said.

According to the Department of Peacekeeping, during the first 10 months of 2006, 63 percent of all misconduct allegations involving peacekeeping personnel were related to sexual exploitation and abuse, a third of them to prostitution.

While allegations of abuse have dogged peacekeeping missions since their inception more than 50 years ago, the issue was thrust into the spotlight after the United Nations found in early 2005 that peacekeepers in Congo had sex with Congolese women and girls, usually in exchange for food or small sums of money.

Jordan's U.N. Ambassador Prince Zeid al Hussein wrote a report several months later that described the U.N. military arm as deeply flawed and recommended withholding the salaries of the guilty and requiring nations to pursue legal action against perpetrators. It said abuses had been reported in missions ranging from Bosnia and Kosovo to Cambodia, East Timor, West Africa and Congo."

It seems that they have now instituted "NEW" rules and regulations to say, this is not acceptable behavior? NEW Zero Tolerance policy? So they need to clarify that sexually exploiting women and children is wrong? So why is this not front page news? Because it’s the UN.

The UN is like gods to the LWL. They have all the answers in the world. We need to turn over our sovereignty to them and the world will love us. The UN is NOTHING but a useless, outdated, anti-Semitic, corrupt organization. Yet we have people in this country that LOVE them. Probably jealous of their power.

So we will only get a blurb here and there. But just imagine if it were US Troops. Amazing.

I usually look over the many news sites that I receive in my mailbox in outlook and I did not see this story.

I agree with your analyse that if it were possible to link or try to link it to the president the MMD's would had been all over it like Rosie O Donnell on a ham sandwich.

They would be smacking their lips and spittle would be coming off their jowls with the thought that they could accuse the president of some more nefarious deeds that he somehow had a hand in or should have controlled.

Good Work

Hey Sam,

This is EXACTLY what I mean. I caught this by accident to tell you the truth. I left the computer on in one of my search modes, I came in and saw this article. I captured it for use a little later and the phone rang. I came back after the call, it was gone. I mean it was just completely gone. If I had not captured it when I did, I most likely would not have never found it again.

Curious now, I then started searching for more articles in reference to this. To my surprise, truly, there was none. Even this original article wouldn’t come up. Noone was talking about it. NOONE. Not one comment anywhere about 300 UN “Peacekeeping” troops involved in sexual exploitation and abuse including children.

But as I said, you KNOW as well as I, that even if someone was to make up an allegation, with no proof, evidence, or anything that even remotely resembles facts, against President Bush, or the Republicans, FRONT PAGE NEWS! If they are found to be false, MAYBE, somewhere on page, oh I don’t know, 16, they MAY print an “Ooops we were wrong about that one. But Bush is still guilty.”

And people are confused as to why the “New Media” is thriving.

Oh by the way, would had been all over it like Rosie O Donnell on a ham sandwich. LOL!! That was good.
