Rick Perry Dumb? Liberals Brilliant

We are not the ones who are showing signs of Insanity

Hey folks,

{Sigh} Rick Perry. Not what I had in mind to talk about today. Not even really sure I want to. I have my own first impressions, but I really want to get to know the guy better. I have heard some very GOOD things about him. I have heard some very BAD things about him. But with anything, I want the FACTS, and I want TIME itself, to play out and THEN I will make my final Decision.

I do have some first impressions. I was going to comment on him, one of my very first impressions, this past Sunday, but I KNEW, and still know, it will upset some of you. I was also concerned that the Liberals would USE my observation, because I know I can not be the only one who sees this, against him. However, seems that is EXACTLY what they are attempting to do. Now with this whole, "Is Perry Dumb?" BS from Politico, and the fact I'm being inundated by people who want my honest opinion, I guess I have to talk about him. Seriously folks, from the Emails, to my Neighbors, everyone wants to know what I think. I guess that should be no surprise since he came out of no where and is now Leaps and Bounds ahead of Romney. One guy you do NOT have to wonder how I feel about. {Smile} Couple that with the full on Media assault on the guy, it tells me we HAVE to look closer at him. As you know, Liberals only attack that of which they fear.

OK. True story. I'm out and about a little while back when I got back in from getting a Coffee. Talk Radio was on. I think it was the Morning Show I listen to, "The Conversation with Rich Stevens" or perhaps it was the top of the hour News Break, whatever, I heard Rick Perry talking. Now I didn't catch the intro, I had no idea what it was about, but my first thought was "W?" Really? I haven't heard Bush speak in a LONG time. Maybe he is talking about the Elections. Then the News Guy breaks in, "That was Rick Perry from {wherever} talking about {whatever}" I was like, Whoa! Wait. Perry? I could have sworn it was Bush.

Then a day or so passes and I catch Perry on the News. I watch his Facial Expressions, Mannerisms, and listen to him talk again. {Sigh} Folks, {Laughing} I know some of you will not like this, but sorry, this guy IS Bush. Now I do not know him from Adam. Please do not misunderstand me. Like I said, I have heard GREAT stuff, and BAD stuff, about this guy. He might indeed be the best person to Nominate. I really want to get to know him more before I come to a final conclusion. But first impression? His "Swagger," Voice, Attitude, he's from Texas, he is said to have a "My way or the Highway" mentality? He IS Bush. I knew instantly that this is what the Left will use against him.

The Left Wing Loons TRULY believe that the Majority of this Country has BDS. Bush Derangement Syndrome. They truly believe that EVERYONE Hates Bush. So if they can get you to see this guy as Bush every time you look at him, then he is toast. So the attacks begin. "Is he dumb?" This comes from those that actually see themselves as the most brilliant people in the Country. They REALLY do. You Conservatives out there, especially if you are Christian, are nothing more than Dumb Hicks that are too stupid to understand Liberalism, and those that practice it. You are too stupid to know what is good for you. You do not understand why Obama is succeeding in helping the Economy because Obama is so much Brighter than you. Yes folks. Obama is just too smart to be President. When you hear him pronounce Corpsman as "corpse-man," or hear him tell you he is going to all 57 States, or all of his "Uh, Ands, Uhs" get on your nerves, just remember he is just too smart. Sometimes he has to wait for his mouth to catch up to his Brain. When you complain about the Economy, and all of Obama and Crews Spending with the only result being things MUCH WORSE, and dislike his willingness and desire to spend MORE, you are just too Dumb to understand that it will work this time. {Still not one shred of proof of Obama's Intelligence by the way.}

So lets look at these, the most smartest people in the Country. {Crickets chirping} Hello? People of the Left? Where are your Geniuses. Oh thank you. Thank you for standing up to give us clear cut examples of Brilliance so that we may learn from your Brilliance. I stand corrected. Perhaps THEY ARE the smartest people on the Planet.

Lets see, from AL Gore calling Global Warming Skeptics Racists, I kid you not, to another Liberal Genius Daniel Hamermesh, wanting Affirmative Action for Ugly People. Again. I kid you not. Then we have a Nobel Laureate calling for Space Aliens to attack us to help us stimulate the Economy. {Laughing} Seriously. Paul Krugman actually advocated Space Aliens attacking us. But I do want you to pay attention to THIS part of that conversation.

If we discovered that, you know, space aliens were planning to attack and we needed a massive buildup to counter the space alien threat and really inflation and budget deficits took secondary place to that, this slump would be over in 18 months. And then if we discovered, oops, we made a mistake, there aren't any aliens, we'd be better –

ROGOFF: And we need Orson Welles, is what you're saying.

KRUGMAN: No, there was a "Twilight Zone" episode like this in which scientists fake an alien threat in order to achieve world peace. Well, this time, we don't need it, we need it in order to get some fiscal stimulus.
Again, THIS is what I want you to remember. "No, there was a "Twilight Zone" episode like this in which scientists fake an alien threat in order to achieve...." Now, in another corner of the Brilliant Liberal Universe, we have THESE Geniuses. They think that Aliens WILL attack us if we do not go "Green." {Laughing, banging hand on desk.}

"Green" aliens might object to the environmental damage humans have caused on Earth and wipe us out to save the planet. "These scenarios give us reason to limit our growth and reduce our impact on global ecosystems. It would be particularly important for us to limit our emissions of greenhouse gases, since atmospheric composition can be observed from other planets," the authors write.
And WE are the dumb Hicks? WE are the simpletons? SERIOUSLY? I'm so glad that the Smart People are out there to help the rest of us make it through this journey called Life. Perhaps Sanity is overrated folks.

Fact Checker: Bachmann RIGHT About American Energy

Bachmann Energy claims hit Home Run. They do not like that.

Hey folks,

You KNOW when a Republican or a Conservative hits a Home Run. The Left come out of the wood work, and attempt to denounce, reject, and simply attack the PERSON. They attack that of which they fear. They FEAR the Truth in this matter. Energy.

The Liberals are beholden to the "Green Dream." Global Warming Bunk. They want all that Power, Control, and of course, Money that comes with the whole Scam. Environmentalist who would rather see the Earth "protected" over the Needs of PEOPLE, Vote Democrat. I know, I know. Most of them are Sheeple. They lack the ability to apply Logic, and Reason. As long as they FEEL good, and FEEL important, they will forbid a Farmer from Farming if someone sees a Mouse. Forget the people who will starve or lose their homes. Must protect the Mouse. {Sigh}

Of course they are susceptible to the nonsensical attacks on Big Oil, Coal, and other NATURAL Energy sources. Couple their need to be "Green" and "Save the Planet," with the successful Class Warfare tactic that the Liberals love to play, they HATE Energy Companies, and their "Windfall Profits."

So whenever anyone comes out and tells the TRUTH, the Left go NUTS trying to disprove it. Enter Bachmann. According to the AP - FACT CHECK: Bachmann energy claims oversimplified By MATTHEW DALY. I love this. They admit she is RIGHT, yet they attempt to oversimplify WHY she is uh, wrong? {Laughing} Ready?

WASHINGTON - America's energy future can't be unlocked as simply as Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann makes it sound when she depicts the nation as the "king daddy dogs" of energy. Even if environmentalists folded and Washington regulators got out of the way, much of the energy is too expensive for companies to develop.
That is truly one of the most Idiotic things I have ever heard. A NON-Energy Industry "Expert," saying even if, the Envrionuts and the Government got out of the way, {Which admits they are in the way} it is too expensive? So why bother? Idiot. It's NOT YOUR MONEY.

"The radical environmentalists have demanded that we lock up all our energy resources," she told a town hall meeting in Florida. "President Bachmann will take that key out of the door. I will unlock it."
Great line. She's right. No new Drilling, Refineries, Nuclear Plants, Obama actively attempting to Bankrupt the Coal Industry, as he said he would. Our ENERGY is not just Locked up, but under a full fledged ATTACK. Now because of all this, we must rely on Foreign Governments, some of which do not like us that much. Now Iran is in charge of OPEC. Meanwhile, we do nothing here.

America's energy riches rest primarily on coal, and that resource is already unlocked. Bachmann was correct recently in citing estimates that the U.S. has more potential oil trapped in shale than Saudi Arabia does from all its sources. But those supplies are trapped by the economics of the industry, not overzealous regulators.
{Laughing} So yeah, she's right, but ah, too expensive to get. So why bother. Uh, forget it. Uh see? She's WRONG!!

A look at her recent claims about energy and how they compare with the facts:

BACHMANN: With untapped oil reserves in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska and off the nation's coasts, oil shale in Western states, and rich natural gas and coal deposits, "the United States is the No. 1 country in the world for energy resources," Bachmann said. "We are the king daddy dogs when it comes to energy."

THE FACTS: A March report by the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service backs up Bachmann's claim about energy resources, with some important qualifications, including the fact that the fossil fuel with the largest U.S. supply by far is coal. Bachmann cited the report in her town hall meeting Saturday in central Florida.

The report, using data compiled by the federal Energy Information Administration, says the United States has the highest total endowment of fossil fuels in the world, taking into account known reserves of oil, natural gas and coal. The U.S. has the equivalent of 973.1 billion barrels of oil in fossil fuel energy. Russia is next, with 954.9 billion barrels of oil equivalent. China is next with 474.8 billion barrels.

But coal accounts for more than 90 percent of the U.S. total. The U.S. share of the world's proven oil reserves is less than 2 percent.

Without counting coal, the United States would fall below at least eight countries, including Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iran, Venezuela and Qatar.

Bachmann's claim that "radical environmentalists" are keeping the United States from tapping its energy resources is harder to evaluate. While lawsuits and government policies keep some known reserves, including Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, off limits, experts say other factors, such as drilling costs and well productivity, can have a greater effect on production.
Don't ya just love this. Seriously. A "nonpartisan Congressional Research Service" says she is right. But. They are incorrect about Coal making 90 percent. However, these are the numbers that the Liberals see. Perhaps that is why Obama is ACTIVELY attacking Coal? Just a thought. But even though they say she is WRONG. They say, well, we can't really prove it. Read this last part again.

Again with it costs too much. It's NOT YOUR MONEY. Why do you care? You really want us to believe that IF the Energy Companies were turned lose to do what they do, they would simply do NOTHING? Because it costs too much. OK. Get out of the way and turn them lose. They are not going to do anything anyway. Right?

BACHMANN: "We have more oil in the form of shale oil in three Western states than all of Saudi Arabia. That doesn't even include ... all the oil in Alaska (or) in the Bakken oil fields in North Dakota."

THE FACTS: That resource - actually called oil shale - is indeed abundant in the West. Oil shale is rock that has a high percentage of organic material that can be turned into oil. The Green River formation in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah contains vast amounts of oil shale - as much as 4 trillion barrels of oil equivalent, the Energy Department says. That is more technically recoverable oil than in Saudi Arabia, as Bachmann says.

However, most of the shale deposits are not thick or rich enough to access or produce economically at current prices, officials say. Shale mining also requires large amounts of water, a problem in the drought-stricken West.
Again with the Cost too much. However, they have no idea what they are talking about. We have discussed this, along with the COSTS involved in general. They spend BILLIONS in exploration, and drilling. Sometimes they come up dry. Who pays for that? THEY DO! Sometimes they find more than they thought. Who benefits from that? WE ALL DO. More Product MEANS More Supply, Less Demand, Less cost of Energy, Less cost of EVERYTHING.

BACHMANN: "We have resources from coal to oil to natural gas," she told The Associated Press. "The problem is, under the EPA, they've been busy locking up (supplies), especially under President Obama."

THE FACTS: The Interior Department is the main federal agency that regulates oil and gas drilling, not the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA does not issue leases for oil and gas production, although it does monitor air and water pollution from drilling activities.

Recently, a plan by Shell Oil Co. to do exploratory oil drilling operations off the Alaska coast was delayed after environmental and Alaskan native groups appealed EPA air permits issued for the project last year. In this case, Obama's EPA initially cleared the way for the project, only to see it temporarily stopped by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, then tied up by an independent appeals board.
ABSOLUTE BS! Yes, the Interior Department regulates oil and gas drilling. FACT they are slowing the Permit Process at request of President Obama. It's called a De facto Moratorium. FACT, the EPA IS actively attacking the Energy Industry, attempting to put into place Obama's Cap and Tax system, which can not pass the House and the Senate. It just CAN'T. So? Obama will not bother going the LEGAL way, he will just sick the EPA on them. Which is NOT Constitutional AT ALL. The EPA should be DOA. Government needs to get out of, not only Energy, but ALL of our way. They need to let the Free Market BE FREE. If it is too expensive for them to do it. They WON'T. No regulation needed.

Look, we have talked about this in DEPTH. Just this one Private Industry, if allowed to be who they are, WILL:

Create HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of American Jobs
Lower Energy Costs, which lowers EVERYTHING Costs
Increases American Security
Increases Revenue to Federal, State, and Local Governments.

WE could secure 92 percent of all liquid Fuels from right here at home, and our friends to the North, Canada. Why are we not? GOVERNMENT. With access to Oil resources on Public Lands and in Federal Waters that are currently off-limits, and with the approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline which would bring additional Oil supplies from Canada, we would have no need of dealing with Iran for our Energy Needs. We would have no need of worrying about a War breaking out in the Oil Rich Middle East. It would have little effect on us.

That is JUST ONE INDUSTRY. Bachmann IS Right. Any President that is SERIOUS about helping our Economy MUST look at Energy. It really is just that simple. And yes. It is FACT. Fact Checked.

Hurricane Irene Visits NY, Obama is Toast

Preview for Sunday 082811

Hey folks,

As we speak, Hurricane Irene is visiting NYC. According to Reuters - Ferocious Hurricane Irene batters New York By Ben Berkowitz and Dan Trotta Reuters – 1 hr 21 mins ago

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Hurricane Irene battered New York with ferocious winds and driving rain on Sunday, shutting down the U.S. financial capital and most populous city, halting mass transit and causing massive power blackouts as it churned slowly northward along the eastern seaboard.
According to another report I saw, like 2 million people are without Power. But they are not alone.

Irene, still a menacing 480-mile (780-km)-wide hurricane, was enveloping major towns and cities in the northeast, hugging the Atlantic coast and threatening dangerous floods and surging tides.

From the Carolinas to Maine, tens of millions of people were in the path of Irene, which howled ashore in North Carolina at daybreak on Saturday, dumping torrential rain, felling trees and knocking out power.
After NYC, Irene is expected to remain a Hurricane and head even further North into the Boston area. She is not just some little Weather Event. Irene is a Killer. According to this report...

At least nine deaths were reported in North Carolina, Virginia and Florida. Several million people were under evacuation orders on the U.S. East Coast.
So our thoughts and Prayers are with those that have lost loved ones and those currently in the Path of this Storm. I'll update you when more information becomes available. Glad we missed this one. Or rather, this one missed us.

Coming right up today?

So did you catch this? This goes out to all my friends out there that think Obama is STILL unbeatable. Even the Libs know that he is Toast. As it stands right now.

Political analyst and Democratic pollster Doug Schoen tells Newsmax that President Barack Obama is in “deep trouble,” and if the election were held today he “would be a one-term president.”
BY A LANDSLIDE! Seriously. NOBODY is happy with him. Why do you think he is going off the deep end trying to get the "Extreme Vote" In other words, he refuses to enforce Laws on the Books in reference to Gays, Illegal Aliens, and announced that he will not longer Deport. He is actively Suing States that are getting a handle on their Finances by taking on Unions. He is going after those that claim "He ain't Liberal Enough." Yeah I know, but he is. Hell, Doug Schoen is a Lib. He Co-Wrote a Book with Scott Rasmussen entitled “Mad As Hell: How the Tea Party Movement Is Fundamentally Remaking Our Two-Party System.”

Three polls over a recent 8-day period have shown Texas Gov. Perry enjoying a significant lead over former front-runner Mitt Romney, with two of the polls putting Perry ahead by double digits.

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, Schoen was asked what he thinks of the poll results considering that Perry has been formally in the race for only about two weeks.

“I think it shows how dissatisfied the Republican electorate is with the other seven or eight candidates, and how they’re looking for a fresh face to take on President Obama,” he says.

Questions have been raised about Perry’s ability to garner support among moderate Republicans. Schoen comments: “In the primaries he doesn’t really need moderate Republicans because the bulk of the voters are conservative, but in the general election he’ll certainly have to broaden his appeal.”
{Sigh}You know folks, no never mind. Now is not the time. I have some thoughts on Perry, but I would rather get to know him a bit more before I comment. Anyway, you can tell Schoen is not happy about this.

One recent poll pitting Obama against Perry shows the two in a dead heat. Schoen agrees that Perry is a “formidable” candidate, but cautions: “I think this poll reflects more the weakness of Obama than the strength of Governor Perry. It remains to be seen if Perry develops the kind of broad-based appeal he’ll need to win the presidency.

“Right now it looks like a Perry-Obama race, but a few months ago it looked like Donald Trump was the front–runner, then Mitt Romney, then Michele Bachmann, so anything can happen in this election.”

Schoen was asked, given Perry’s strong showing so far, if it is too early to say Obama is in trouble.

“I think Barack Obama is in deep trouble,” Schoen declares.

“At this point he is being hurt and hurt seriously by the weak economy. He’s going to have a jobs speech in September. He’s going to talk about revitalizing the economy. It’s anyone’s guess if that will make an impact. But as we sit here today, bottom line, I think you’d have to say the economy is a dramatic drag on his presidency.

“I think he would be a one-term president if the election were held today.”
Get this. Remember what I have been telling you about Unions are nothing more than a Funnel of Money into the Democrat Party? Well, now THEY are mad too.

Angry that Democrats are ignoring union issues, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka has announced that the nation's largest labor federation is cutting its ties with the Democratic Party and President Barack Obama heading into 2012, and instead it will set up a super PAC to pick and support its own candidates.

Asked if this is a huge blow to Obama, Schoen responds: “Absolutely. Obama needs to get labor back and I think he’ll be courting them furiously in the weeks and months to come.”
Like I said, he lost most of the Normal Votes. Those squishy Republicans and RINOS, Independents, and even some Sane Democrats. He NEEDS the Extreme Vote. He needs the Kooks and the Far Left Looney Base. That's not enough for him to win, maybe about 20 Percent of the American Population, but he can't Win without them. Also if he loses the Unions, where will all the money come from to pay people to Intimidate Voters at the Polls and mess with Ballots? {Smile}

Oh, you know what this is. You know WHO this is. I'll be right back.
Peter

Do Not Deport? Pay Up.

If you want them to stay, you should pay.

Hey folks,

FACT: It is ILLEGAL to be in this Country ILLEGALLY.
FACT: It IS the Federal Government's Job, NOT the States, to enforce Federal Law.
FACT: By the Federal Government REFUSING to do it's Job, States Suffer the Consequences.
FACT: Illegals commit Crimes. Place Financial Burdens on State Governments. Steal away Jobs that Americans are trying to get, because they will work for less and demand little to no benefits.
FACT: Americans are hurt by uncontrolled Illegal Immigration in MANY ways.

So when States start enforcing the Laws of the Land that the Federal Government doesn't want to do for Political Reasons, they have no other choice than to simply throw those here Illegally, in Jail. They do not have the Authority to Deport. Perhaps they should.

So, what to do, what to do? You are RIGHT, even if you have the Federal Government Suing you, to protect YOUR Citizens, and Legal Residents. You, as a State, have a Right to get unreasonable Costs under control. So? What to do with all these Illegals that the Federal Government has made a conscience decision to ignore their Crimes and refuse to do THEIR Job?

Two possibilities. One, and what the Feds under Obama WANT you to do, is NOTHING. Ignore them. Just let them be. Stay in the same situation you are in. Or Two, the only other option you have, Arrest them, and put them in Jail. But then the question come down to, who should pay? Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, thinks it should be the Feds.

According to the AP - Perry bills feds $349M for incarcerating illegals By APRIL CASTRO - Associated Press AP

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry has asked the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for nearly $350 million to cover the costs he says Texas has incurred incarcerating illegal immigrants in state prisons and county jails.

In a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, Perry reiterated a claim he's often leveled against the federal government: that it's not doing enough to secure the border with Mexico and as a result, has allowed illegal immigrants to enter the U.S. and use taxpayer-funded resources, including the prison system.

The letter was dated Aug. 10, three days before the Republican governor formally announced he is running for president.

Reached after-hours Friday by phone, DHS spokesman Matthew Chandler said he wasn't in position to comment and said he could not confirm that the DHS had even received the letter.
Of course not. They do not want to deal with this issue leading up to an Election. They are plummeting in the polls, and they need all the Votes they can get. Screw America. Screw Americans. They are pandering to the Minority Votes, by allowing a Backdoor Amnesty to take place. Perry wrote in his letter:

"During tough economic times, when communities are making difficult decisions about their own budgets, Texas counties are being asked to cover more than $94.4 million in direct costs related to housing illegal immigrants while the state has been left to cover more than $254.8 million in such costs."

He included a memo from Comptroller Susan Combs in which she supports his calculations but warns that the estimates are conservative.

"The longstanding failure of the federal government to secure our border with Mexico continues to burden local communities and resources in Texas," Perry wrote. "Because there are not enough troops on the ground, illegal immigrants are able to penetrate the Texas border every day and use taxpayer-funded resources."
He is not alone here.

Perry is not the first governor to try to bill the federal government for the costs of incarcerating illegal immigrants. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, sued the DHS in February seeking compensation for incarceration costs, among other things. And Napolitano herself, who preceded Brewer as Arizona governor, regularly sent the Justice Department invoices seeking such reimbursement before she became Homeland Security secretary.
{Laughing} So she should KNOW. Right? It's not a hard concept to understand. It really isn't. If you want them to stay, you should pay. If you do NOT want to pay, then DO YOUR JOB! And it really IS, just that simple.

I have this problem. What? No seriously. What was I saying?

Hey folks,

If you are like me, you would love to have a better memory. I kid that I have a GREAT memory, I just can't remember where I put it. Seriously. If I do not write things down, I forget all about them. Oh, the important stuff sticks. But everyday stuff just fades away. I have a Friend that takes advantage of this from time to time. She will say to me, "Hey are you ready to go?" I will respond, "Go where?" Of which she replies "Remember, we had a whole conversation about this?"

So we go and I have a great time, be it a Sunday Brunch, or something that needed to be done, whatever. But the TRUTH is I have no recognition of the conversation AT ALL! You want to know what's worse than that? Someone asked me once, Who is the Idiot of the Week this week? I couldn't answer the question. I had NO IDEA. It was as if someone else wrote the Article. Pretty sad huh? I have this problem. What? No seriously. What was I saying? {Smile}

So I came across this in Web MD - Slideshow: Top Concentration Killers. Now to see the Slideshow, you have to go to Web MD. But I have the TEXT so this is what I want to talk about in this week's Health and Science Segment. Lets go over these together shall we?

Culprit: Social Media

Whether you're living with ADHD or just have trouble focusing from time to time, today's world is full of concentration killers. Psychologist Lucy Jo Palladino, PhD offers a few tips to manage distractions, starting with social media. It's easy to connect with friends -- and disconnect from work -- many times an hour. Every status update zaps your train of thought, forcing you to backtrack when you resume your work.
I do this. True story. I have gotten distracted on Facebook, starting a conversation with someone, or reading what you folks post, and I run out of time to post the Daily Article, or respond to an Email. So?

Social Media Fix

Avoid logging in to social media sites while you're working. If you feel compelled to check in every now and then, do it during breaks, when the steady stream of posts won't interrupt your concentration. If you can't resist logging in more frequently, take your laptop someplace where you won't have Internet access for a few hours.
Interesting. Don't go there. {Smile}

Culprit: Email Overload

There's something about an email -- it shoots into your inbox and itches to be answered immediately. Although many emails are work-related, they still count as distractions from your current project. You won't make much progress if you constantly stop what you're doing to reply to every message.

Email Overload Fix

Instead of checking email continuously, set aside specific times for that purpose. During the rest of the day, you can actually shut down your email program. This allows you to carve out blocks of time when you can work uninterrupted.
I do go some time without checking. But then again, I then build up a RIDICULOUS number of them that takes more time to read, let alone respond to.

Culprit: Your Cell Phone

Perhaps even more disruptive than the ping of an email is the ringtone on your cell phone. It's a sound few of us can ignore. But taking a call not only costs you the time you spend talking – it can also cut off your momentum on the task at hand.

Cell Phone Fix

Put caller ID to good use. If you suspect the call is not urgent, let it go to voicemail. If you're working on a particularly intense project, consider silencing your phone so you're not tempted to answer. Choose specific times to check voicemail. Listening to all your messages at once can be less disruptive than taking every call as it comes in.
I have to start doing this as well.

Culprit: Multitasking

If you've mastered the art of multitasking, you probably feel you're getting more done in less time. Think again, experts say. Research suggests you lose time whenever you shift your attention from one task to another. The end result is that doing three projects simultaneously usually takes longer than doing them one after the other.

Multitasking Fix

Whenever possible, devote your attention to one project at a time, particularly if you're working on an intense or high-priority task. Save your multitasking skills for chores that are not urgent or demanding -- it probably won't hurt to tidy up your desk while talking on the phone.

Culprit: Boredom

Some of the tasks we have to do each day are more interesting than others. The boring ones may burn through your attention span in minutes, making you extremely vulnerable to distractions. Your phone, the Internet, even the prospect of dusting your workspace can seem tempting if you're bored.

Boredom Fix

Make a deal with yourself: If you stay on task for a certain period of time, you earn a 10-minute break. Reward yourself with coffee, a favorite snack, or a walk outside. Boring tasks are easier to accomplish when you have something to look forward to. This is also one case where multitasking may work well. Listening to the radio while filing receipts could help you stay put long enough to finish the job.

Culprit: Nagging Thoughts

It's hard to focus on the work in front of you if you're worrying about errands you need to run or housework to be done. Or perhaps you're hung up on a conversation you had yesterday, and you keep replaying it in your mind. Nagging thoughts of any sort can be a powerful distraction.

Nagging Thoughts Fix

One way to keep nagging thoughts from buzzing around in your brain is to write them down. Make a list of errands, housework, or other tasks you plan to complete later. Vent frustrations over an unpleasant confrontation in your journal. Once these thoughts are on paper, you may be able to let them go for awhile.
Maybe I SHOULD start a Journal.

Culprit: Stress

When you feel like you have too much on your plate, it can be hard to focus on individual tasks. To make matters worse, stress takes a noticeable toll on the body. You may develop tight shoulders, headaches, or a racing heart, all of which can chip away at your ability to concentrate.

Stress Fix

Learn stress reduction techniques, such as meditation. This can help you rein in stressful thoughts, so they don't demand so much of your attention. In one study, researchers found that people who took an eight-week meditation course improved their ability to focus. If you can't find a meditation class locally, look for one online.
Uh STRESS. We can all say that this effect us all. I know it does me. I go to the Gym. Walk outside. I do Meditate, but perhaps not in a proper way. Perhaps that is something I need to look more into.

Culprit: Fatigue

Fatigue can make it tough to concentrate, even when you have few distractions. Studies suggest too little sleep can sap your attention span and short-term memory.

Fatigue Fix

Most adults need 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Instead of burning the midnight oil, make sleep a priority. This will help you get more done during your waking hours. Also, pay attention to which times of day you feel most alert. Then you'll know when to schedule your most intense tasks.
Sad fact is I'm lucky if I get 4. Even when I have a bit extra time to sleep, I have issues with Sleep itself. I have Sleep Apnea, and a bit of a Sleep Walking Problem. So I DO find a good night Sleep allusive. Throw on top of all that, a BABY. You get the point.

Culprit: Hunger

The brain can't focus without fuel, so skipping meals – especially breakfast – is a top concentration killer. Research indicates short-term memory and attention suffer when you rise and shine but do not dine.

Hunger Fix

Keep hunger at bay and give your brain a steady source of fuel with these habits:
Always eat breakfast.
Eat high-protein snacks (cheese, nuts)
Skip simple carbs (sweets, white pasta)
Choose complex carbs (whole grains)
I am proud to say I have switched to Honey Wheat Bread. Something I would have never DREAMED of doing just a few months ago. So at least I'm on my way to better health. {Smile}Pay CLOSE attention to this next one.

Culprit: Depression

Most people tend to think of sadness as the hallmark of depression. But the National Institute of Mental Health says difficulty concentrating is one of the most common symptoms. If you're having trouble focusing, and you also feel empty, hopeless, or indifferent, you may be experiencing depression.

Depression Fix

If you think you might be depressed, the first step is to talk with a doctor or counselor. Depression is highly treatable. Many studies have shown the effectiveness of antidepressant medications and certain types of talk therapy.
Then this.

Culprit: Medication

Unfortunately, some of the medications used to treat depression can interfere with concentration. The same is true of many other drugs. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist to check if a medication or supplement you are taking may be affecting your concentration.

Medication Fix

If you suspect your meds are clouding your concentration, don't assume there are no other options. Talk to your doctor about adjusting your dosage or switching to a different class of medication.
You already know what I think of most Medications. You also know what I think about a LOT of things in the Field of Psychology. But PLEASE, at least talk to SOMEONE if you are feeling Depressed.

Culprit: ADHD

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is not just a problem for children. More than half of kids with ADHD continue to experience symptoms as adults. The classic signs are a short attention span and trouble focusing on tasks.

ADHD Fix

If you have consistent trouble focusing, and you had attention problems as a child, ask a doctor or counselor about ADHD. There are ways to manage the condition, including behavioral therapy and medications.
Again folks, {sigh} Never mind. We'll save that for another day. Please get a second opinion if anyone says you have ADD or ADHD. It is one of the most OVER Diagnosed {Illnesses} out there. Be careful.

As with most of these things, some of the points are obvious and "Duh" moments. Others may catch you off guard or give you something to think about. But put all these together, and you REALLY have something to think about. I'm willing to bet you suffer from more than one of these. I know I do. Now we have ways to try to over come them.

$92.858 Billion for NOTHING!

Hey folks,

I was only half joking Friday, but the more I think about it, the more it actually makes sense. He said it. It's the Truth. Why do we need to continue to spend $92.858 Billion Dollars? According to the Head of the Department, $92.858 Billion for NOTHING!

His own words:

“And the best ideas, I've always said, in education are never going to come from me or frankly from anyone else in Washington. They’re always going to come from great teachers, great principals at the local level. We want to hold them accountable, but give them lots more room to move and to do the right thing for the children in their community where they know best what those children and what the community need.”
No good Ideas are going to come from some Bureaucrat sitting in an Office in Washington. Great Teachers and Great Principals, working with Parents at Local Levels KNOW WHAT IS BEST for THEIR Children. If the Federal Government got out of the way, it would be so much better for the Kids.

Again, look at Wisconsin. Here a Governor looked at this situation. He found Bad Teachers getting a free ride. He found Schools that were fiscally upside down. He found Schools being held Hostage by Union Thugs. The most important thing he found, was the Schools were FAILING the only reason the even exist. The Kids. He said ENOUGH!

Together with the Republicans that REFUSED to Compromise, REFUSED to be threatened. REFUSED to back down from what they KNEW is the RIGHT thing to do, they fixed the problem. No more free rides for bad Teachers. Teachers that Perform well, will be PAID WELL. A Budget that is not only Balanced, but some looking at Surpluses, which IS being put back into the Schools, instead of lining pockets of Union Bosses and Politicians. Back into the Schools for Smaller Class sizes. MORE Teachers. More Supplies. ETC.

Now we have the Head, the U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan Speaking the TRUTH! Again, he said this.

You are SO right Mr. Duncan. Congratulations, you ARE the Winner of the Display of Logic Award for today, Sunday, August 28, 2011. Any good idea's to "Rid ourselves" of this over cost, pointless, Government entity? Just curious.

Protesting something that is WORKING?

Hey folks,

Time to wrap things up with the Idiot of the Week. This is one of those rare occasions where we do not have the NAME of the Person, nor People that are involved. However, it is their ACTIONS that justify their receipt of the Award.

We have been talking about Governor Scott Walker in Wisconsin, and the changes that he and some Bold Republicans made in the Public Education system there. A clear and shinny example of how to fix an out of control problem Nation Wide.

So Governor Walker schedules some time to go to the Schools and read to the kids. Which is most likely a THRILL for most of them. To have the most Powerful man in their State come and spend some time with them and to read to them.

What happens? Some MORON goes to the School and Superglues the Locks. Some Chick, perhaps the same Idiot, goes around and encourages people to Protest. Protesting WHAT exactly? Protesting something that is WORKING?

Then to top it off, you are Protesting and Vandalizing a School that has NOTHING to do with Public Education. It is a Catholic School. But regardless of what School it is, the KIDS are the ones that will suffer from this nonsense.

I know, I know, it was NEVER about the Kids. It wasn't. It was all about ME, Myself, and I. It was all about Bad Teachers continuing to get free rides. All about lining pockets of Union Officials and funneling money into the Democrat Party. Why do you think Obama got involved? Why do you think Union Members from OTHER States Bussed in to Protest?

They even attempted to do a Recall in the State. They lost. It's Working. The Students are FAR better off. So they ARE Protesting something that is WORKING. Oh I know that is NEVER the intention of ANY Liberal Policies. But it IS Reality.

Those who create or support MOST if not ALL Liberal Policies, do so out of a Me, Myself, and I mentality. Power, Control, and of course, all that Money. If someone gets help in the process, great. If not? Who cares? As long as I keep getting mine.

Governor Walker and the Republicans in the State Government did the RIGHT thing here, and the PUBLIC, in this case the KIDS are benefiting from it. Not Union Bosses. Not a Political Party. The KIDS.

Congratulations to this Woman, and the rest of the Protesters in Wisconsin, you ARE the Idiot of the Week. I can think of something I would like to Superglue shut. And it is NOT School Doors. There is one good thing here though. People are finally seeing the Liberals for who and what they are.

Reason to Rid Ourselves Of The U.S. Department of Education

"Pete, THIS IS PRICELESS!! I've been trying to think of a reason that I can give to my more liberal friends on why we should rid ourselves of the U.S. Department of Education. Well well well, seems Secretary of Education Arne Duncan gave the best reason of all. As you would say, you can't make this stuff up."

{Laughing} Hey folks,

Happy Friday to ya. Yeah this really is priceless. And the best reason EVER to do away with it. Oh before we get to that, seems Irene missed us all together. We skated on this one, Our thoughts and prayers now go out to our friends in the North. Be ready, she is coming.

So what RH is talking about is this. It's from CNS News - U.S. Ed Secretary: 'The Best Ideas...in Education Are Never Going to Come from Me' Wednesday, August 24, 2011 By Edwin Mora

(CNSNews.com) - U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said today that the "best ideas ... in education are never going to come from me or frankly from anyone else in Washington.”

He also said some American schools are testing their students too much.

“Washington can never run public education, and what we want to do is we want to be a good partner,” Duncan said in a webcast in which he answered questions submit via Twitter.

“We want to reward courage, we want to reward excellence, we want to reward creativity, we want to hold folks accountable to high bars, but education has always been and should be at the local level,” said Duncan,

“And the best ideas, I’ve always said, in education are never going to come from me or frankly from anyone else in Washington,” he said.
Check out the Video HERE!

“They’re always going to come from great teachers, great principals at the local level,” said Duncan. “We want to hold them accountable, but give them lots more room to move and to do the right thing for the children in their community where they know best what those children and what the community need.”

Duncan argued that in some jurisdictions students spend too much time preparing for and taking tests.

“I think in some places we do test too much, I think it varies,” said Duncan. “So, do I think we should evaluate students each year to see how they’re doing and progressing? Absolutely. But when you have too many tests or spending all your time on test prep that never leads to good results--so I think there’s real variation around the country. I think some places are doing this pretty well. Some are probably absolutely over-testing.”

Duncan said that 10 days of testing during a school year was too much.

“My children are in a great public school system,” he said. “They’re evaluated annually. I have no problem with that. If they’re getting tested 15 times a year or multiple different tests I have a problem with that.”

When asked how many days of the “traditional standard bubble test” are too many, Duncan said, “It should be a tiny percent of what we’re doing. So should students be tested 10 days? No, I think 10 days is a lot.”

“I think that’s a lot, yeah,” said Duncan. “And it’s not just the testing. … It’s the filling the bubble, you know, practicing that and, you know, if all you’re doing is doing that kind of work and not doing great instruction, great creativity, the students aren’t going to do well anyway.”

Duncan criticized the Bush administration’s No Child Left Behind Law saying it was an “impediment” for education. He said states will be able to apply for No Child Left Behind waivers in September, adding that the Obama administration has the authority to grant those without breaking any laws.

“I’ve talked to almost every governor,” said Duncan about the waivers. “I think I’ve talked to 47, 48 governors. What’s interesting, John, is there’s lots of noise here in Washington. Every single governor has said thanks for moving in this direction. Not one governor has said we don’t need this. And many governors have actually said, ‘Thank God someone in Washington is actually listening to real teachers and real people.’”

According to the Office of Management and Budget, Department of Education spending rose from $33.476 billion in fiscal 2000 to $92.858 billion in fiscal 2010.
So since: "best ideas ... in education are never going to come from me or frankly from anyone else in Washington.” and “We want to hold them accountable, but give them lots more room to move and to do the right thing for the children in their community where they know best what those children and what the community need.”Along with the Cost of $92.858 Billion dollars. Why do we need them? I agree one hundred percent with Arne Duncan. If we got the Federal Government out of it. Let the Locals handle it. Look what happened in Wisconsin. Gov. Scott Walker saw the Problem. Fixed the Problem with help of Bold Republicans. What happened? Smaller Class Sizes. Balanced School Budgets, some looking a SURPLUSES. Teachers now Paid on Results. The Schools in Wisconsin have in a VERY Short time, become a shining example of what CAN happen when the Liberals just get out of the way. When the Federal Government STOPS, or in this case WAS Stopped, interfering.

I might have to give Arne Duncan the Logic Award this Week. Of course the Kids will love the fact he thinks they are tested too much. {Smile} But he IS right here. So lets do away with this over priced FAILURE of a Federal Government Department. We now not only have an admission that they are pointless, but we have a real life example to point to.

Have a great Weekend folks. Again, to our friends in the North. Irene is on her way. Be prepared, be safe, and I will see you all on Sunday.

Some Want Obama Impeached Over Amnesty

Happy Thursday To All. All eyes on Hurricane Irene right now here in Sunny South Florida. The good news is looks like she will just blow us a kiss from about 200 miles off the East Coast. Better than coming straight through for a Visit.

Hey folks,

Yeah, we are watching Irene Closely, but my day is pretty much same old same old. Something else I'm keeping an eye on is what I told you about this past Sunday. Obama's announcement about the CHANGE in Immigration and Deportation Policy IS Backdoor Amnesty, Pure and Simple This is where he said we will go Case by Case and will NOT deport ANYONE who is not a Violent Offender. Basically, the way it has been laid out, there is really NO reason to Deport ANYONE. I said this.

Folks, they are NOT going to do this. They do not really CARE. They WANT Amnesty. All this is, is a way to grant it, without having to deal with Congress, Pass Laws, or answer to the Public. It's all about VOTES. Screw the consequences. Screw Americans. Screw America itself.
Well I'm not alone in my disgust over this PURE pandering for the Latino Vote. I got the following Press release in the Emails a few days ago. It's from Americans for Legal Immigration PAC. Here it is.

Obama Approval Crashes to New Low Following Amnesty Decree

August 23, 2011 (MMD Newswire) - - Public approval levels of Barack Obama are crashing to new lows shortly after his administration has announced an effort to bypass the Congress, the Constitution, and the American public to create a form of executive order Amnesty for illegal aliens.

The Department of Homeland Security announced last week that many illegal aliens would no longer be deported. This policy conflicts with existing federal laws that say all illegal aliens are to be deported. The US Constitution specifically states that immigration policy is to be set by the Congress, not the Executive Branch.

ALIPAC would like to publicly thank Rep. Candice Miller (R-Mich. (202) 225 - 2106) for announcing today she will hold Congressional hearings to prove Obama has violated the US Constitution with his amnesty.

An extensive collection of scientific polling data collected at ALIPAC.us shows clearly that a large majority of Americans, across racial and partisan lines, oppose any form of Amnesty for illegal aliens similar to the kind Barack Obama has created in an authoritarian way.

With this news being Obama's latest major policy announcement, his crashing numbers are likely in response to the news of "Obama's Amnesty" reaching the public.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) is playing a key role in distributing this news to the nation.

"Obama decreed this unlawful Amnesty for illegal aliens on a Thursday while the Congress is in recess," said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "Our first mission has been to alert the public about this move via online activism, national press releases, and numerous talk radio interviews. As word spreads of what Obama has done, his approval ratings drop."

Rasmussen Reports presidential tracking polling indicates that Obama's approval ratings have hit new lows for the last two days in a row with Obama's 'presidential approval index' rating hitting -26 today! Only 19% of Americans now strongly approve of Obama while 45% now strongly disapprove.

Barack Obama's approval levels are also hitting new lows following his Amnesty for illegal aliens decree in Gallup polling, which usually generates numbers more favorable to the president than other polling organizations.

Gallup is currently showing Obama's approval levels reaching 53% disapproval vs 40% general approval for August 19-21. This is a negative index of -13% which is a new approval low for Gallup readings on Obama.

"Obama just took steps to put over 300,000 illegal aliens and eventually millions more in direct competition with American workers at a time of historic unemployment. He has done so in a way that is illegal and unconstitutional," said William Gheen. "We are calling on the media to alert more Americans about what Obama has really done here, and we are calling on the Congress to begin the impeachment process immediately."

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC has launched an effort to build up public and congressional support for the impeachment of Barack Obama following congressional hearings that discovered the administration of Barack Obama has been using the ATF, CIA, FBI, DEA, and Department of Justice to buy thousands of assault weapons for the Mexican drug and illegal alien importing cartels.

ALIPAC's Impeach Obama Facebook page has quickly become the largest in the nation with over 23,000 supporters in the first month. An online petition website which is building up strength for national protests calling for the Impeachment of Obama has received 4,000 signatures so far.
OK. They are one hundred percent RIGHT here. Seriously. He doesn't care about the Constitution. He has SAID so. He doesn't care about the Rule of Law. Even though Court after Court find some of the things this Administration does unconstitutional, they continue to do them regardless. They refuse to enforce Laws they disagree with, and even SUE States over THEIR enforcement of LAW.

Now I am all about throwing this Moron out of the White House, and putting someone in there that is an Adult, REALLY Intelligent. Not some made up, Media driven, unproven, BS, but REALLY Smart. Able to apply Logic and Reason and in direct contact with REALITY and Truth. However, having said all that, Obama will NEVER be Impeached. So lets work on getting the RIGHT Person in there next year.

Now if you REALLY want to sign the Petition or read more about this, you can go HERE and HERE. Perhaps signing the Petition and leaving Comments may be a message to those out there that we have had enough, and we are not going to take it anymore. But then again, they, including Obama, DO NOT CARE what you think. That is why 2012 may be the MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION in HISTORY. America itself is on the line.

Obama Promised, Promise Kept?

Even without Cap and Tax, Coal Industry shutting down.

Hey folks,

Remember, Obama TOLD US what he wanted to do.

"What I've said is that we would put a cap-and-trade system in place that is more -- that is as aggressive if not more aggressive than anybody else's out there, so if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."
He even told you that your Electric Bills will "SKYROCKET."

"When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know, under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket."
HIS OWN WORDS. He said it. He promised it. Promise kept? Now he could not get his Cap and Tax passed. So what does he do? Yup. He uses the EPA to do it for him.

Over the next 18 months, the Environmental Protection Agency will finalize a flurry of new rules to curb pollution from coal-fired power plants. Mercury, smog, ozone, greenhouse gases, water intake, coal ash—it’s all getting regulated. And, not surprisingly, some lawmakers are grumbling.

Industry groups such the Edison Electric Institute, which represents investor-owned utilities, and the American Legislative Exchange Council have dubbed the coming rules “EPA’s Regulatory Train Wreck.” The regulations, they say, will cost utilities up to $129 billion and force them to retire one-fifth of coal capacity. Given that coal provides 45 percent of the country’s power, that means higher electric bills, more blackouts and fewer jobs. The doomsday scenario has alarmed Republicans in the House, who have been scrambling to block the measures. Environmental groups retort that the rules will bring sizable public health benefits, and that industry groups have been exaggerating the costs of environmental regulations since they were first created."
That means higher Electric Bills, more Blackouts and fewer Jobs." Yeah, THAT'S what this Country needs right now. Is it NOT? But if it were not so serious, this next part would be funny. They go out, Congress {Liberals} and get a "nonpartisan" group, known as Congressional Research Service, CRS, to try to prove that this is NOT bad. They say in their report that:

First, the report agrees that the new rules will likely force the closure of many coal plants between now and 2017, although it’s difficult to know precisely how many.
So yeah. Some will be forced to shut down. No we can not say how many, how many Jobs will be lost, now how this will effect the supply end of the Energy Market. Which means we can not say how much more it will cost YOU. Of course, we also can not say, that because of the lesser Supply, how many people will face Energy Shortages. Even now, people in places like California are facing Rolling Blackouts. How many more will face this? We can not say. But hey, these are old and should not be here anyway. They will be replace eventually by "combined Cycle Natural Gas Plants." So no worries.

Still, that’s a lot of plants. Won’t this wreak havoc on the grid? Not necessarily, the CRS report says, although the transition won’t be simple. For one, most of these plants don’t provide as much baseload power as it appears on first glance—pre-1970 coal plants operating without emissions controls are in use, on average, only about 41 percent of the time. Second, the report notes that “there is a substantial amount of excess generation capacity at present,” caused by the recession and the boom in natural gas plants. Many of those plants can pitch in to satisfy peak demand. Third, electric utilities can add capacity fairly quickly if needed — from 2000 to 2003, utilities added more than 200 gigawatts of new capacity, far, far more than the amount that will be lost between now and 2017.

Granted, those upgrades and changes won’t be free. The CRS report doesn’t try to independently evaluate the costs of the new rules,
Of course not. It doesn't matter how much it will cost. Energy Companies are big evil Monsters that make insane Windfall Profits anyway, so they can afford it. Forget a lot of this is Nonsense and NOT accurate. Lets go with their numbers. They admit that the loss of these Plants will result in a LOSS of Energy Output which will have to be made up somehow. How many more jobs will be Lost? Oh, just like the COST of all this, they do not say. I love this. Why will this not hurt the Energy Industry?

"And many of the EPA’s rules are almost certain to get bogged down in court or delayed for years, which means that utilities will have more time to adapt than they fear."
{Laughing} So we know that these Rules are unconstitutional, and will be challenged. The EPA does NOT have the Authority to create nor enforce LAW. That is Congress's Job. So while Energy Companies are spending Millions in Court to fight them, they have plenty of time to conform. Now no surprise here. They AGREE with the Liberal Agenda and Talking Points. But notice this.

The CRS report also agrees with green groups that the benefits of these new rules shouldn’t be downplayed. Those can be tricky to quantify, however. In one example, the EPA estimates that an air-transport rule to clamp down on smog-causing sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide would help prevent 21,000 cases of bronchitis and 23,000 heart attacks, and save 36,000 lives. That’s, at the high end, $290 billion in health benefits, compared with $2.8 billion per year in costs (according to the EPA) by 2014. “In most cases,” CRS concludes, “the benefits are larger.”
First, These are COMPLETELY Made Up numbers. Completely BOGUS. "21,000 cases of bronchitis and 23,000 heart attacks, and save 36,000 lives." That's like the Liberal, "2 Million Jobs will be saved or created." There is no way to count "Saved Jobs." But it SOUNDS good. These numbers are completely made up. But these numbers are NOT. It will cost the Energy Companies an ADDITIONAL $2.8 Billion per year in costs. Which is what this is all about after all. MONEY, POWER, and CONTROL! After reading this last Paragraph, I may very well Vote for Michele Bachmann.

Granted, few would expect this report to change many minds in Congress. Just 10 days ago, Michele Bachmann was on the campaign trail promising that if she becomes president, “I guarantee you the EPA will have doors locked and lights turned off, and they will only be about conservation.” That doesn’t sound like someone who’s waiting for a little more data before assessing the impact of the new regulations.
The EPA SHOULD be shut down. Or at least leashed in. They do NOT have the authority to Create nor ENFORCE Laws. They need to be put back in their place. If not done away with all together. They are nothing but a Liberal TOOL to further the Liberal Agenda. As for "That doesn’t sound like someone who’s waiting for a little more data before assessing the impact of the new regulations." Your RIGHT. Because we already KNOW.

Free Market Vs Government Agendas

Preview for Sunday 082111

Hey folks,

Happy Sunday to ya. I am of course your Provocateur of Thought Peter Carlock, and this IS the Big Sunday Edition of the OPNTalk Blog. Good to see ya. I know some of you are perhaps getting tired of OCAN. But this IS a perfect illustrations of how the Free Market works. But I have some REAL Life Examples of this as well. In the reverse. This is reality. It is also the BEST way to do things that cost the US Tax Payers NOTHING.

OCAN is the fictitious Paint that I created. One Coat All Needed. You go out to the market and you convince people that if they buy this Paint from you, they will never again have to paint, whatever it is they paint. Be it a house, or a Car. A Deck, or a Toy. One Coat will cover ANYTHING, and will never Chip, Peel, or even Fade. OCAN is also "Environmentally Safe." One Coat. Less Garbage. Yeah it coasts a bit more, but you will never again have to worry about whatever it is you are painting. Do it ONCE, never again.

So? Some people buy it. If it works, they tell others. Others buy it. Companies buy it. It takes off. YOU get Rich. Thompson and Thompson come along and offers to buy the rights. Other, older and out dated Paints become a thing of the past. Other VERSIONS of OCAN hit the Market. Before you know it. Standard Paints are history. Stories that Dads tell their Sons. "You know Son, when I was growing up, there was no OCAN. You had to Paint two of three Coats, Every other year or so." Son to Dad. "Dad, come on." THAT is the Free Market. Not Government Mandating it, then PAYING you for it, if it works or not. Where do they get that money from? Yup. YOU. The Tax Payer.

Now OCAN COULD very well fit into the Green Agenda. Therefore, as the Creator and the CEO of OCAN, I could most likely ALSO receive a big chuck of Government funding, just because. But if I do not, and it is what I say it is, I would have no need to other than perhaps GREED. If it DOESN'T do what I say it does, I will accept the Government Funds and make whatever funds I can, until eventually someone decides enough is enough, and cuts off the Spout. Coming right up I'll give you a GREAT Example of this in REAL Life. Also coming right up today?

So lets see. Government is propping up Solar Companies. They Prop up Wind Turbine Manufactures. They Prop up Battery Companies, or uh, ship them over Seas. They give YOU incentives to BUY these things that no one really wants. They PAY people to keep doing the things they are doing EVEN if there is no need or desire for what they produce.

According to the NYTs - Citing a Lack of Usage, Costco Removes E.V. Chargers

Costco, the membership warehouse-club chain, was an early leader in offering electric-vehicle charging to its customers, setting an example followed by other retailers, including Best Buy and Walgreen. By 2006, Costco had installed 90 chargers at 64 stores, mostly in California but also some in Arizona, New York and Georgia. Even after General Motors crushed its EV1 battery cars, the Costco chargers stayed in place.

Yet just as plug-in cars like the Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt enter the market, Costco is reversing course and pulling its chargers out of the ground, explaining that customers do not use them.

“We were early supporters of electric cars, going back as far as 15 years. But nobody ever uses them,” said Dennis Hoover, the general manager for Costco in northern California, in a telephone interview. “At our Folsom store, the manager said he hadn’t seen anybody using the E.V. charging in a full year. At our store in Vacaville, where we had six chargers, one person plugged in once a week.”

Mr. Hoover said that E.V. charging was “very inefficient and not productive” for the retailer. “The bottom line is that there are a lot of other ways to be green,” he said. “We have five million members in the region, and just a handful of people are using these devices.”
So they attempted to jump on the Band Wagon or Green, and they paid out all this money to have these things installed, and NOTHING! Now of course those that aim to make money are trying to save them.

Plug In America, the California-based E.V. advocacy group, contends that the stations do get used, and is conducting a rigorous grassroots campaign to save them. The group asserts that some of the units have been delivering free electricity to loyal E.V. owners for a decade or more, and that people regularly plug in.
Of course what this story does NOT tell you is that Plug In America has received $12.5 Billion Dollars of Tax Money, and is actively seeking MORE. So even though those that are footing the Bill, say NO ONE IS USING THEM. Decides to pull the plug, this Group that stands to lose all this GUARANTEED Funding says, they are wrong?

Look. Even General Motors stopped making its EV1 Battery Cars because no one wants them. The Free Market says this. Until you can:

Make it affordable. Currently something like $30 to $40 Thousand to Buy. Another $20 Thousand in like 4 to 5 years for NEW Batteries.

Make it Productive. Go more than 40 to 50 Miles between Charges. Decrease the time to Charge. Create Locations TO Charge ANYWHERE {What happens if you run out of juice on the Freeway?} Discover how to deal with a MASS Charging demand. And of course, make sure it can GO more than 60 Miles an Hour.

Make sure that it is SAFE for all. Those Driving it, and those walking down the street.

No one is going to buy these. Until they can be shown to be equivalent to what they are using now, no one will waste all that money and time. But as long as the Government keeps giving them money, they will KEEP Producing that of which no one wants. Free Markets? Cut off useless and unwanted Products and Services, saves money. Government Agendas? Continuously spending money they do not have on useless and unwanted Products and Services, wasting even more money. Which do YOU think is better for the Economy?

Be right back.
Peter

Backdoor Amnesty, Pure and Simple

I told you this would not go away. Especially NOW.

Hey folks,

What does Gays in the Military, the refusal to defend the Defense of Marriage Act, and Amnesty all have in common? It's Election Time. Obama NEEDS the Extreme Vote. I told you this would not go away. Especially NOW. Obama is at 39 percent Approval. He knows he lost the "White Vote" He knows he lost most of the "Independents", and Females are no longer Fainting. He knows he is not looking as Golden as the Last time around.

Record High unemployment, record high Foreclosures, the Economy in the Tank, yet we just agreed to tack on another 7 Trillion in the long run, and Obama is on Vacation again. At Tax Payer Expense. Yeah, he is pretty sure he is a one term President. "So what the Hell? Let's go after the Extreme Vote. Lets get the Minority Vote back in our corner. Screw it. Let's pass Amnesty." Right? According to The Wall Street Journal - Who May Qualify to Remain in U.S. Under New Obama Immigration Policy August 19, 2011, 8:53 AM ET By Nathan Koppel

Immigration rights advocates earlier this week voiced anger at the Obama administration for targeting criminal offenders for deportation — a crackdown, critics contend, that has netted too many low-levels offenders who are never even convicted of crimes.
{Sigh} If they are here ILLEGALLY they are GUILTY of a CRIME. You Moron.

Presumably, critics have less to complain about, after the president yesterday made a major shift in immigration policy, announcing that the administration might allow many of the 300,000 illegally immigrants currently facing deportation to remain in the country.
Amnesty. Hey, that's 300,000 possible NEW Votes. Right?

The White House announced that it would use more discretion and review deportation cases on an individual basis, possibly sparing those who aren’t deemed a true threat to public safety. Here’s an article from WSJ’s Miriam Jordan announcing the policy shift.

So, under the president’s new case-by-case approach to deportation, what type of folks stand an improved chance of remaining in the U.S. ? The administration fortunately has provided some guidance.

We start with a statement posted to the White House blog from Cecilia Munoz, the White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs.

“There are more than 10 million people who are in the U.S. illegally; it’s clear that we can’t deport such a large number,” she writes. “So the Administration has developed a strategy to make sure we use those resources in a way that puts public safety and national security first.”
Well, not that I'm advocating it, but, why not? We can't find them? Just ask NBC or CBS to do a story on the plight of Illegal Immigrants trying to find work in the US and they will give you their Names, Address, when they came here, when they got their family here, how long they have been here Illegally and even were they worked prior. Yet? our Law Enforcement Officials can't find any to Deport? Why would it cost more to deport them than it costs to keep them here? Where is the Math on that?

In deciding who to deport, Department of Homeland Security and Justice Department will apply “common sense guidelines,” Munoz writes. She links to a June 17, 2011 memo written by John Morton, director of U.S. Custom and Immigration Enforcement, which spells out the sort guidelines that will be used.

In deciding whether to prosecute an individual, Morton writes, immigration officials should consider such factors as:

the person’s length of presence in the United States;
So how long they have been a Criminal?

the circumstances of the person’s arrival in the United States, particularly if the alien came to the United States as a young child;
OK there is ground for compromise there. If Dad forced a Child to leave his home and come here. Maybe I can see working something out. Maybe not. But I'm up for further discussions on this one.

the person’s pursuit of education in the United States, with particular consideration given to those who have graduated from a U.S. high school or have successfully pursued or are pursuing a college or advanced degrees at a legitimate institution;
So how they beat the system when Americans have a hard time getting an Education? Yeah. OK. They achieved something?

whether the person, or the person’s immediate relative, has served in the U.S. military, reserves, or national guard; the person’s criminal history, including arrests, prior convictions, or outstanding arrest warrants; the person’s ties and contributions to the community, including family relationships;
Again, if they beat the system, or are Related to someone who beat the system, they should be rewarded? As for the "family relationships" in relationship to "contributions to the community?" Someone would have to explain that one to me.

the person’s age, with particular consideration given to minors and the elderly;
Again, a CHILD who came here against their Will? I'm willing to talk. Just because someone grew old here? Sorry. Should have never been here.

whether the person has a U.S. citizen or permanent resident spouse, child, or parent;
Which is one of the problems. OK So we in essence Grant Amnesty to 300,000 Illegal Aliens. Some for the sole reason they have Legal Relatives. So now they are Legal, more come claiming that they have Relatives. So on, so forth. Endless Cycle?

whether the person is the primary caretaker of a person with a mental or physical disability, minor, or seriously ill relative;
Uh, SO?

whether the person or the person’s spouse is pregnant or nursing. Morton cautions that the list of factors he provides is not exhaustive and that no one factor is determinative of whether a person will stay or go.
{Laughing} So basically, we will not Deport them for whatever EXCUSE we decide to use.

A senior administration official told WSJ that the new immigration policy is designed to make better use of limited immigration-enforcement resources and to help ease overburdened immigration courts. But a natural question that arises is whether immigration authorities, with their limited resources, will have the bandwidth to make the sort of case-by-case deportation determinations called for by the new policy.
Good question. They do not have the manpower to track down these Illegals, or to Deport them, yet they DO to go through 300,000 plus, and more to come, ONE by ONE and evaluated WHO stays and who goes.

FAIR Responds to Obama Amnesty

It really is Amnesty. No other way to look at it.

Hey folks,

So we just talked about Obama's new version of Amnesty. I'm not the only one not happy with this. Well, the Majority of the American People are against this also. But why should that stop Obama and Crew? Here is a Group that is not happy with this at all as well. FAIR. What? No. No, NOT CAIR, that is the Radical Muslim Activist Group. This is FAIR The Federation for American Immigration Reform. Here is THEIR take on this.

Administrative Amnesty for Illegal Aliens is a Blatant Usurpation of Congress's Constitutional Authority, Charges FAIR

WASHINGTON, Aug. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) responded sharply to today's White House announcement that it will essentially halt enforcement against illegal aliens who have not been convicted of criminal offenses. Today's move by the Obama administration amounts to an administrative amnesty and a sweeping overhaul of the nation's immigration policy without approval by Congress, charged FAIR. The announcement was posted on the White House website.

Under the guise of setting priorities for immigration enforcement, White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Cecilia Munoz lays out entire classes of illegal aliens who will no longer be subject to enforcement. The plan entails dropping existing cases and taking "steps to keep low-priority cases out of the deportation pipeline in the first place," Munoz writes.

"Today's policy announcement clearly demonstrates the Obama administration's defiance of both the constitutional separation of powers and the will of the American public in its relentless effort to gain amnesty for illegal aliens," stated Dan Stein, president of FAIR. "From the outset, the administration has refused to enforce many immigration laws, essentially placing its own political agenda ahead of its constitutional responsibilities to carry out laws enacted by Congress. It has also acted aggressively to prevent state governments from implementing laws aimed at discouraging illegal immigration, including filing lawsuits against Arizona and Alabama.

"Supporters of comprehensive and targeted amnesties for illegal aliens have consistently failed to win approval by Congress or gain support from the American public," Stein noted. "Having failed in the legislative process, the Obama administration has simply decided to usurp Congress's constitutional authority and implement an amnesty program for millions of illegal aliens."

The announcement seemingly comes in response to growing demands from illegal alien advocates that the administration exercise broad discretionary powers not to enforce laws against entire classes of people who are in the country illegally. "In spite of repeated statements from President Obama himself that he lacks the constitutional authority to implement an amnesty by executive fiat, the administration is now doing precisely that," said Stein.

"This step by the White House amounts to a complete abrogation of the President's duty to enforce the laws of the land and a huge breach of the public trust. Never, in the history of federal immigration enforcement, has an administration willfully and so egregiously usurped Congress's and the people's role to decide immigration issues. In essence, the administration has declared that U.S. immigration is now virtually unlimited to anyone willing to try to enter – and only those who commit violent felonies after arrival are subject to enforcement. This is not the nation's immigration law," concluded Stein.

They do make some VERY valid points here. But this should come as no surprise. People didn't want Obamacare. They did it anyway. People didn't want the Debt Ceiling Raised. They did it anyway. People did not want any more Wars. We are now ACTIVE in FOUR different Countries. People want smaller Government. They keep INCREASING it. People want Marriage defined by a Man and A Woman. They say screw the Law, we will not defend it. People DO NOT WANT AMNESY. So, who cares what the People WANT? We have an agenda and we are sticking to it. Screw the People.
