Link: The Washington Post - Joe Biden: Digging back into his roots to move Obama forward By Jason Horowitz, Published: March 14 | Updated: Thursday, March 15, 6:00 AM

In York, Pa., he speaks of his father living at the local YMCA. In front of Toledo autoworkers, he calls himself the “son of an automobile man.” In Media, Pa., he is the “grandson of Ambrose Finnegan,” a Scranton ad man turned gas company worker. But he is also the great-grandson, on his mother’s side, of Edward F. Blewitt, a member of the Pennsylvania state Senate. On his paternal side, he is connected to Maryland through a great-great grandfather who sold produce and a grandfather whose transition from Baltimore kerosene salesman to Wilmington oil executive earned the family a temporary taste of wealth. His family was rich in Boston, comfortable in Long Island and broke in Scranton. One relative died in World War II, and another, “Old Man Sheen,” ran shipyards in Virginia.

Vice President Biden, the Obama administration’s traveling everyman, seems to have roots all over. He learned about some of his ancestral connections from stories told at the family dining table, but many details came to him from an unlikely source — a genealogist who burrowed into the cabinets of microfiche and stacks of bound registries at the Mormon church’s vast Family History Library in Salt Lake City.

“He called me out of the blue to see if I could do his genealogy,” said James W. Petty, a former senior researcher at the library. On a recent afternoon, Petty, wearing a tweed coat and a “certified genealogist” lapel pin, leaned back from the documents spread across a desk overlooking Temple Square. He recalled an initial 2004 conversation with the then-senator inquiring how his ancestors came to the coal mines of Pennsylvania’s Lackawanna County and put food on the table.

“I said, part joking, part serious, ‘It’s good for a politician because you can build on this culture, and this culture, and this culture. You can become a favorite son in three or more cultures.’ And he said, ‘I want to approach more people.’ He understood that all of this would affect how he connected with people.”

“He has a great interest in it,” Valerie Biden Owens said of her brother. “Your family gives you, hopefully, roots and wings.”

On Thursday, Biden put all his connections to full use in his debut role as the Obama reelection campaign’s relater in chief. He traveled to Toledo, where he called out Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich by name as being “dead wrong” in their opposition to the autobailout.

“If you give any one of these guys the keys to the White House,” Biden said. “They will bankrupt the middle class again.”

It is a role that the gregarious, relationship-cultivating old pol seems to have been born to play, and one that has already helped his less-experienced and more distant boss negotiate the political ways and means of the capital. A four-decade creature of Washington, Biden works lawmakers, schmoozes donors, levels with conservatives and assures liberal groups. He has emerged as a top administration emissary to troublesome nations and a not-so-private inner-circle dissenter on issues such as health care, Afghanistan and a policy requiring employers to fund contraceptive coverage. Less willingly, he has brought comic relief at times as the nation’s goofy uncle and has provided a soap opera subplot to the no-drama Obama ethos, thanks to the Washington job-swap meshugas in which he and Hillary Clinton switch places.
It goes on for like four Pages, but it is very entertaining. I needed a good Laugh this morning. Read the whole thing HERE - The Washington Post - Joe Biden: Digging back into his roots to move Obama forward

Have a Great Weekend..

Senate Fails to Expenite Keystone

"Why don't they get it?"

They DO get it. They just do not care. That's the point.

Hey folks,

So why does it seem that those in the Senate don't get it? Why do they not see Gas going up again, heading to $5.00 if not $6.00 a gallon? Why do they not see this will DESTROY the Economy? Why do they not see this for what it is? A Loss of Jobs, Increased Costs on EVERYTHING, and a decrease in National Security in these very dangerous times we live in? They DO. They just do not care.

Look, the sad little Truth is this. They are all MILLIONAIRES. Then again, they do not even PAY for their Gas. They think this will not effect them. What about the rest of us? They do not care. Obama needs the LWL {Left Wing Looneys} The Far Left Wing Kook Fringe. The Environmental Wackos. The "Chicken Little" GWBS Crowd. He NEEDS their Votes.

He feels that he already lost the Votes of those who are complaining about High Gas Prices. Those not, he can lie to them and they will simply believe whatever he says. In his mind, and the mind of Reid and the Kooks in the Senate, if they OK the Pipeline, they will loss the LWL Vote and guarantee Obama's defeat in November.

Here is the Link: The Washington Post - Senate rejects expediting Keystone pipeline By Juliet Eilperin and Ed O’Keefe, Published: March 8

In the wake of lobbying by President Obama and Senate Democratic leaders, the Senate Thursday defeated legislation to speed up construction of a U-S.-Canadian oil pipeline.

The White House victory came after the president started personally calling Democratic senators Wednesday night. The vote underscored the extent to which rising gas prices and energy supply have become a central political issue.
I want you to read that again. "The White House Victory." $5.00 to $6.00 a gallon gas. HUNDREDS of thousands of Jobs LOST in just this ONE industry. DECREASED National Security. And Higher Prices for all in this hurting Economy. "The White House Victory."

We have talked about this many times folks. We could be, right now, using nearly 100 percent of our OWN Energy, produced here and from our friends in the North. We would need not worry about the Middle East. We would CREATE HUNDREDS of Thousands of NEW, long lasting, well paying Jobs. We WOULD lower costs on EVERYTHING. We would INCREASE REVENUE to nearly a TRILLION Dollar. Obama CALLED Democrats and said "you better not Vote for this!" "The White House Victory."

You can read the whole thing if you want. But that is all you REALLY need to know. "The White House Victory." The only way we are going to reduce our dependency on Foreign Sources for our Energy. The only way we will reduce Price. The ONLY way to get this Country back to heading the right direction, is NEW LEADERSHIP in the White House and Senate. PERIOD. We can not afford another 4 more years of this. You NEED to go out and VOTE in November. That is the ONLY way we can save this Country.

Ted Turner

I just found this interesting.

Hey folks,

Happy Friday to ya. You know, there is so much I want to talk about. From PETA, to a whole host of others. Time just has not been friendly this Week. So it's looking like Sunday will TRULY be a BIG Edition this week. But it's Friday. Time to check in from the Emails.

I'll be honest, I never heard of this site until YG sent this in. But I find this Entire Site interesting. I've been checking it out this morning. "10 Songs we get the lyrics Wrong" was a fun one. A bunch of fun and entertaining stuff over there. You should really check it out. This article? Well? I just found this interesting. If you love him or hate him, you HAVE to respect what he has done. Here it is.

Cable TV Providers - The Life of Ted Turner Cable Industry Tycoon On March 1, 2012, in cable tv, by admin

Robert Edward Turner III was born in 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio. As he is not known as Robert or Edward, the date and place of his birth mean little, until we associate the name he is most known for. Ted. Ted Turner, the man with the smarts to make money.

Observing all that is written about him, one could go in either direction with the good, bad or ugly. As in every man with few exceptions, his life contained all three. He never knew poverty so his is not a rag to riches story. His father was in the billboard business and proved to be very successful however when Ted the 3rd was 24, his father committed suicide. It was then that Ted Turner found himself in charge of his father business, and the rest could be history, except that his history is vast and interesting, and is not yet all told.

As with the move of your mouse, and a left click of the finger, anything you would want to know about Ted Turner III, can be found on the WWW. He is an interesting man for sure, and until now I have known very little about him.

Of all his accomplishments which could take many thousand words to tell; with all the television endeavors of which he has been successful; even the fact he was owner of the Atlanta Braves; all his failed marriages; his childhood in private schools and anything else you might want to add, the one area that fascinates me about him is his MGM purchase.

It was after starting CNN the 24hour news broadcasting station in 1985, which added CNN radio, and CNN International, Ted Turner III became a billionaire. His accomplishments did not stop there, as he was ever the enterprising soul that looked for opportunities in the world of television in which to get involved.

At the end of 1994 he was also crowned “Man of the Year” by Time magazine for his part in “on the scene reporting” the uprising among the youth in China at the Tiananmen Square. Then again when Iraq headed by Saddam Hussein invaded and occupied their oil-rich neighbor Kuwait, the CNN cameras were in the war area reporting firsthand information, while other stations stayed in safe territory. The 24 hour news station CNN had found its place in history.

In 1986, Turner purchased MGM Entertainment Company. To the business world’s astonishment, he quickly sold it back to the previous owner, retaining nothing but the studio’s film library. To many observers, it seemed like an utterly whimsical and wrong-headed move, one that immediately cost Turner $100 million, but within the year, his film library had earned $125 million.

Newly available home video technology had created an enormous market for films on videotape. The catalogue Turner had acquired from MGM included not only classic MGM films, but the libraries of United Artists, Warner Brothers and RKO, everything from classics like Gone With the Wind and Casablanca to forgotten B-pictures and short subjects from the ’20s through the ’60s. Turner employed a new process to add color to a number of old black-and-white film, a practice that outraged purists but boosted videotape sales of many of the films in the collection.

In 1992, after purchasing the animation studio Hanna-Barbera, with its catalogue of popular children’s programming, Turner launched the Cartoon Network, another cable offering that has brought him praise from parents all around the world.

The following year, he added the motion picture companies Castle Rock Entertainment and New Line Cinema to Turner Broadcasting’s portfolio, further expanding his library of films and adding motion picture production capability. Any hard feelings Turner may have spurred among film buffs with his colorization project were more than appeased in 1994, when Turner founded a new cable channel, Turner Classic Movies (TCM), to show old and new films, uncut, uninterrupted and commercial-free, 24 hours a day. All films are shown in their original format: black-and-white films in black-and-white, widescreen films in their original aspect ratio. TCM has also acquired a formidable reputation for original documentaries and for its film restoration and preservation efforts. (Taken from the ACADEMY OF ACHIEVEMENT website)

I found a list of little known facts about Ted that give us a picture in a nutshell of the interesting man he is.
•Only one of a few people who have been on the cover of Sports Illustrated and Time magazine for different reasons.
•Currently holds 42 honorary degrees from such institutions as Brown University (Providence, R.I.), Morehouse College (Atlanta, Ga.), The Citadel (Charleston, S.C.) and Mississippi University for Women (Columbus, Miss.)
•Number of sailing trophies won: 176
•Favorite movie: Gone With the Wind
•Favorite meal: A bison cheeseburger from Ted’s Montana Grill with fries and an Arnold Palmer (half iced tea, half lemonade)
•Appeared on over 115 magazine/weekly publication covers
•Has a national debate named after him – The National Forensic League’s Ted Turner Public Forum Debate
•Largest individual landowner in the United States (owns approximately two million acres of personal and ranch land)
•Purchased his first bison in 1976; current bison herd is approximately 50,000 head, which is the largest private herd in the world
•Has visited all seven continents

Taken from the website below:

One could find oneself envying the life of Ted Turner, but very few would want the tragedies and failures that have come his way. We each have our own cross to bear, and how we carry our cross makes up our legacy. We each have opportunities to be humanitarians and generous; the more we give the more comes back to us the good book says. We can admire Ted Turner for his accomplishments; it is because of men like him we enjoy many things in this modern world. And for me, it is TCM; Turner Classic Movies.

Now to meet the man Ted Turner III would be even greater. With my research and study I feel I know him better and understand him a little more. A man who has found himself growing old without want of anything money could buy. Having seen the world, and can afford to go back again to any of the seven continents without second thought. The property he owns all over the world has afforded him a place to sleep wherever he chooses to go.

In the place of success in which he finds himself, he would quickly add it was not without cost and hard work. It takes time, talent and money and friends to accomplish in his lifetime what he can lay claim to. He is probably only one among many, but Ted Turner III, the individual, is ONE among many.
Have a GREAT Weekend folks. See you Sunday.

Chirica Revisited, Pelosi Say Catholic Church WANTS Government Intrusion

"Don't you wonder why people that have no clue about Religion love to tell us what Religion is all about. But then again this does fit into what you have warned us about. "Chirica." This could be a step in that direction."

Hey folks,

Happy Friday to ya. Time to check in from the Emails. opntalk@gmail.com. Chirica? For those of you who do not know,,, OPNTalk - IWA For Sunday 20109 The then Speaker of the House Pelosi, was talking to George Stephanopoulos on ABC's THIS WEEK. Here is the way it happened.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So no apologies for that?

PELOSI: No apologies. No. We have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy.
Yup. Pelsoi's plans are those of one of the biggest Human Rights violators on the planet. China. She wants the "Chirica" China / America Population Control Program here in our country. One Child per Family. But she is not alone. OPNTalk - Hillary Backing Pelosi's "Chirica" Plan. This is where she talks about giving birth is bad, and Women are too important to be Mothers. This is also where she says we are responsible for WORLD Population Control.

So now the Former Speaker of the House, Pelosi, is saying that the Catholic Church WANTS Governments to enforce Contraceptives. I kid you not. According to this Link - CNSNews -
Pelosi: Catholic Church 'Has Not Enforced' Its Teaching on Contraception By Eric Scheiner

(CNSNews.com) - During an event at Texas A&M University on Monday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) claimed the Catholic Church has not enforced its teaching on contraception and that the church now wants the federal government to enforce that teaching for it.
{Laughing} I know I know. But she SAID it.

“Ninety-eight percent of women in childbearing age that are Catholic use contraception. So, in practice the church has not enforced this and now they want the federal government and private insurance to enforce it. It just isn’t consistent to me,” Pelosi said.

The statement came after Pelosi was questioned about the conflict between the Catholic Church and the Obama administration over a regulation, set to take effect on Aug. 1, that will require all health-care plans in the United States to cover sterilizations, artificial contraceptives and abortifacients, and thus would force Catholic institutions and individuals, in complying with the Obmacare mandate to buy health insurance, to act against their consciences and the teachings of their faith.

“Whatever my personal beliefs or my personal upbringing are on this subject everyone has their own responsibility in terms of the size and the rest of their family. So, I think this should be removed from the debate, it’s inflammatory--misrepresentations are made,” Pelosi added.

All 181 Catholic bishops in the United States oppose and have publicly denounced the regulation issued by the Obama administration, and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops have called it "an unprecedented attack on religious freedom."
"Everyone has their own responsibility in terms of the size and the rest of their family." One Child. According to this Twit, it will save us all money, especially if Poor and Stupid People only have one kid. Less people on the Government Payroll. It is even good for the Environment too. So since the Catholic Church can't come out and say it, they want others to do it for them. They understand. They AGREE. But because of this stupid, outdated, Dogma, they HAVE to allow Government and Insurance Companies in to give their Females Free Contraceptives. {Sigh} This IS who these people are folks. It just IS.

Is It Real? 10 Ways To Spot A Web Scam

If it's too good to be true, it most likely is.

Hey folks,

Happy FRIDAY to ya. Time to check in with the Emails. You know, I'm Honored today. I really am. I see that Princess Zenith from Uganda took the time to search through the Hundreds of Millions of Emails out there, just to find ME. And, she wants to give me $2 Million bucks. See, Her Dad, the King, died and she wants ME to have $2 Million Dollars to help her out. All I have to do is give her my Bank Account, Routing number, and Password. Then she will transfer the Money into my account.... Oh wait. What's this? I just hit the UK Lotto for $100 Million. Well, I'll collect that, then I'll help the Princess. {Sigh}

You laugh, but you know why YOU are reading the Same Emails? Because people are STILL, this day, February 17, 2012, falling for these things. They are still sending them all their info. The Emails keep coming because people keep falling for it.

So I got this Email from, uh, no. She didn't give me permission to use her name, so we'll call her KK. KK sent this in. Here it is.. 10 Ways to Tell if a Web Contest is a Scam On February 13, 2012, in deals, by admin

The possibility of winning big keeps people signing up for online contests, despite the fact that many prove to be scams. Before you click that link and add your personal information to that form, here are some tips for spotting a scam contest.

1.Payment Required to Claim Prizes – Winners of legitimate contests or sweepstakes will never be required to pay a fee to receive their winnings. Service fees, processing charges or shipping and handling fees are all signs that a contest is fraudulent.

2.Check Out the Email Address – Contests sponsored by large companies or well-known organizations will send notification emails from an official email address. Emails that originate from a free service like Gmail or Yahoo! should be considered a red flag.

3.Typos and Grammatical Mistakes – An email rife with spelling problems and typos is a sure sign of fraud. Sponsors of legit contests are trying to promote their brand; they would never allow such unprofessional correspondence to be sent out.

4.Non-Disclosure Agreements – Contests and sweepstakes are, at their heart, promotional tools. They exist to raise brand awareness, so if you’re urged to keep your winnings a secret for “security reasons,” you should be suspicious.

5.High Pressure to Act Quickly – Scammers will urge “winners” to act quickly, in hopes that they won’t take the time to do a web search or find information that will prove them fraudulent. Even time-sensitive prizes will allow winners enough time to do some research.

6.You’ve “Won” a Contest You Didn’t Enter – Entering a passel of contests can sometimes create confusion, but you should always keep track of which contests you’ve entered. One of the first warning signs of a scam contest is a win notification for something you never entered.

7.Receiving a Large Check in the Mail With Notification – Fake checks can be so convincing that even bank tellers are fooled, but contest sponsors will not send a large check by mail along with your winner’s notification. Before a check is cut and mailed, especially for amounts more than $600 USD, sponsors will require an affidavit.

8.You’re Instructed to Wire Funds – Wire services like Western Union are almost as difficult to track as cash; as a result, many scammers will request that “processing fees” be paid this way. Even if there is an entry fee for a legitimate contest, they won’t require money to be sent via wire service.

9.Sender of Win Notification Doesn’t Use Your Name – The people running scam contests send out thousands of emails, knowing that most will be ignored. Instead of personalizing each email, generic greetings like “Dear Sir” are favored.

10.Clumsily Worded Notification Emails – Because the majority of fraudulent contests originate overseas, those sending the emails are likely to speak English as a second language. Even if all of the words are spelled correctly, they may be used improperly or phrased awkwardly. Notifications from legitimate contests will be written clearly, usually at a college level.

Falling victim to a contest scam is potentially devastating. The best case scenario is that your email inbox will be flooded with spam; the worst is money lost to fraudulent fees and even identity theft. Running a quick Google search with the name of the contest is another quick way of checking for legitimacy; scams will often return results for consumer alert sites and fraud watch services.
Also remember that old saying. If it's too good to be true, it most likely is. Great article. Thanks KK. Have a GREAT Weekend folks. See you Sunday..

AMAC Wants Bill Maher Off The Air

"Hey Peter, did you see this. You may get their Emails, I have no way of knowing that. But I know that Bill is not your favorite person. Seems Dan Weber, founder of AMAC wants Bill off the air. So? I ask you, as a christian and one that hates Bill, do you agree?"

Hey folks,

Happy FRIDAY to ya. I do not HATE Bill Maher. I think he is an Idiot. A Mindless, Liberal, Puppet. I think he wouldn't understand Reality if it hit him upside his overly inflated head. I do not find him funny. I do not know why anyone even watches the Show. But HATE? I do not waste my time hating what I can not change. You know, as the saying goes, "You can educate Ignorance, but you can't fix Stupid."

However, having said all that, this IS interesting. Not surprising though. Another thing you must remember is it is ALWAYS open season on Christians and ANYTHING having to do with Jesus. I would love to see him come out and say something like, "You know, I was thinking about bin Laden, and you know what? Man, Allah really F---ed him." Yeah, you would NEVER hear that.

What CJ is talking about here is this. AMAC - Senior Organization calls for Maher’s Cancellation AMAC's Founder, Dan Weber

AMAC, the 250,000 member Association of Mature American Citizens today called for the cancellation of Bill Maher’s TV show on HBO after Maher used the F word describing what Jesus did to Tim Tebow following the loss of his Denver Broncos to Buffalo on Saturday.
Like I said, can you imagine? "You know, I was thinking about bin Laden, and you know what? The way our Troops went in there and kicked his ass? Man, Allah really F---ed him."

“It is one thing to mock a religious figure for a few cheap laughs, it is another thing to blaspheme Jesus, a young man, who many believe gave his life as a sacrifice for all humankind.” said Dan Weber, AMAC’s president. “Maher evidently doesn't think Jesus is the divine Son of God, but he has no right to insult millions of Christians who do”.

“Has American society sunk so low that nothing is considered sacred? If we fail to denounce Maher and stand up for decency what will become of us? Should we tolerate this kind of ill mannered behavior and ignore our responsibility to provide our children with a world where respect and dignity are virtues to be strived for?”
No. Things ARE consider Sacred. Government funded Social Programs. Islam. Atheism. Pretty much every Religion BUT Christianity. Barack Obama. Socialistic Ideals and Scams. Free Rides. You know. GOVERNMENT itself, in some areas of the Country, is considered Sacred.

AMAC, which describes itself as defending the traditional values of Faith, Family and individual Freedom, is calling for its members to contact HBO which airs Maher’s TV show. Weber said, “We should not become angry at the thoughtless utterances issued by Bill Maher.Instead we should invoke the great power of prayer to fill him with a common sense of decency and respect for those of us who revere our religion.”

“Whether you are a member of AMAC or not, please join us in this effort, write and email HBO and demand the Bill Maher show be cancelled. ”

Join us in our effort to send a strong message to HBO. AMAC and its members value decency and decorum, we will not tolerate hateful behavior that serves to undermine faith and family.
Well folks, here it is if you want to sign, just click here Sign the Petition Now! I'm not really sure that it will do anything. Then again, Bank of America? Verizon? The Power of the People IS an amazing thing.

Don't forget, if YOU want to be a part of the OPNTalk Blog, the Email is opntalk@gmail.com. Please feel free to summit Articles for the Friday "From the Emails" Segment, Comment, or just say Hi. Have a great Weekend folks, see you Sunday!!!

Killer Energy?

"Hey Peter, you got to read this..."

Hey folks,

Happy Friday to ya. Time to check the Emails. If you want to be a part of the OPNTalk Blog, you can always Email me at opntalk@gmail.com I have nothing to add this this. It's by Paul Driessen. Yup, THAT Paul Driessen. Here it is...See you soon.

MasterResource -Killer Energy (Time to Apply Endangered Species, Wildlife Laws to Windpower?)by Paul Driessen January 18, 2012

“Gleaming white wind turbines generating carbon-free electricity carpet chaparral-covered ridges and march down into valleys of Joshua trees.” Such is “the future” of American energy, not “the oil rigs planted helter-skelter in [nearby] citrus groves.”

So reads a recent Forbes article. But Wind vs. Bird by Todd Woody also raises concern about the fate of a 300-megawatt “green” turbine project threatening California condors, a species just coming back from the edge of extinction. The project might be cancelled as a result.

Indeed, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) has asked Kern County to “exercise extreme caution” in approving projects in the Tehapachi area, because of potential threats to condors. The “conundrum will force some hard choices about the balance we are willing to strike between obtaining clean energy and preserving wild things,” the article suggested. Hopefully, it concluded, new “avian radar units” will be able to detect condors and automatically shut down turbines when one approaches.

All Americans hope condors will not be sliced and diced by giant Cuisinarts. But most of us are puzzled that so few “environmentalists” and FWS “caretakers” express concern about the countless bald and golden eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, ducks, geese, bats, and other rare, threatened, endangered and common flying creatures imperiled by turbine blades.

And many of us get downright angry at the selective way endangered species and other wildlife laws are applied – leaving wind turbine operators free to exact their carnage, while harassing and punishing oil companies and citizens.

“Avian Mortality”: Not New

This is hardly a new issue. In his August 1997 essay for the Cato Institute, Renewable Energy: Not Cheap, Not “Green”, Robert Bradley documented the “avian mortality” problem before taking to task one of the nation’s leading (anti-) energy environmentalists who was just a car ride away from well-documented windpower carnage:

Wind power’s land disturbance, noise, and unsightly turbines also present environmental drawbacks, at least from the perspective of some if not many mainstream environmentalists. Yet at least one well-known environmental group has a double standard when considering wind power versus other energy options. In testimony before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), Ralph Cavanagh of the Natural Resources Defense Council argued against opening the electricity industry to competition and customer choice because of the “development of significant new transmission and distribution lines to link buyers and sellers of power. In addition to the visual blight of additional power lines on the landscape, these corridors can displace threatened or endangered species.”

Bradley continues:

Yet Altamont Pass’s 7,000 turbines (located near Cavanagh’s San Francisco office) have a record of sizable avian mortality, large land-use requirements, disturbing noise, and “visual blight.” The irony of visual blight was not lost on environmental philosopher Roderick Nash, who, referring to the Santa Barbara environmentalists, asked, “If offshore rigs offend, can a much greater number of windmills be any better?”

A double standard … and for a long time.

Tough Enforcement … Elsewhere

In 2011, following a million-dollar, 45-day helicopter search for dead birds in North Dakota oil fields, U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon prosecuted seven oil and gas companies for inadvertently killing 28 mallard ducks, flycatchers, and other common birds that were found dead in or near uncovered waste pits. Under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, the companies and their executive officers faced fines of up to $15,000 per bird, plus six months in prison. (They eventually agreed to plead guilty and pay $1,000 per bird.)

Also in 2011, a FWS agent charged an 11-year-old Virginia girl with illegally possessing a baby woodpecker that the girl had rescued from a housecat, even though she intended to release the bird after ensuring it was OK. The threatened $535 fine was finally dropped, after the FWS was deservedly ridiculed in the media.

The mere possession of an eagle feather by a non-Indian can result in fines and imprisonment, even if the feather came from a bird butchered by a wind turbine: up to $100,000, a year in prison or both for a first offense. Poisoning or otherwise killing common bats that have nested in one’s attic can cost homeowners thousands of dollars in fines.

Windpower’s Escape

Wind turbine companies, officers, and employees, however, are immune from prosecution, fines or imprisonment, regardless of how many rare, threatened, endangered, or migratory birds and bats they kill. In fact, FWS data show that wind turbines slaughter some 400,000 birds every year. If “helter-skelter” applies to any energy source, it is wind turbines, reflecting their Charles Manson effect on birds.

The hypocritical Obama-Purdon-FWS policy exists solely to protect, promote, and advance an anti-hydrocarbon agenda that is increasingly at odds with environmental, scientific, economic, job-creation and public opinion reality – and to safeguard wind turbines that survive solely because of government mandates, taxpayer subsidies … and exemptions from laws that rule, penalize, and terrorize the rest of us.

Even if avian radar and turbine shutdown systems do eventually work, should they be limited to condors? Shouldn’t they be required for eagles and falcons – and for hawks, ducks, flycatchers, bats, and other protected species? For geese, to prevent a repeat of the December 7, 2011, massacre of numerous snow geese by wind turbines along upstate New York Route 190, as reported by a motorist?

Why aren’t wind developers and permitting authorities required to consider the lost economic benefits of butchered birds and bats, which do so much to control rats and insects that carry diseases and destroy crops?

Of course, even condor protection alone would likely limit affected turbine electricity output to 10% or 20% of rated capacity, instead of their current 30% average. Adding other protected species would drive nearly all actual wind turbine electricity output down below 5% – making the turbines virtually worthless, and driving the exorbitant cost of wind energy even higher.

But why should wind turbines be above the law? Why should we even worry about reducing their electricity output?

Conclusion

America’s environmentalists, legislators, judges, and bureaucrats have already made hundreds of millions of acres of resource-rich land off limits – and rendered centuries of oil, gas, coal, uranium, geothermal, and other energy unavailable. The Environmental Protection Agency’s anti-coal aero-pollution rules, intense opposition to the Keystone pipeline, and looming restrictions on hydraulic fracturing for natural gas are already further impairing electricity and other energy availability and reliability.

This government-imposed energy deprivation is already driving families into energy poverty and sending more jobs overseas.

Put bluntly, wind energy is unsustainable. It kills unconscionable numbers of bats, raptors, and other birds. It requires billions in perpetual subsidies – and billions more for (mostly) gas-fired backup generators. It impacts millions of acres of scenic, wildlife, and agricultural land – and uses vast amounts of raw materials, whose extraction and processing further impairs global land, air, and water quality. Its expensive, unreliable electricity kills two jobs for every one supposedly created.

A far more rational public policy would cut the crony out of capitalism and double out of standards. Fair field, no favor.

So be it that wind turbines would fall by the wayside and consumers support conventional energies to generate reliable, affordable, sustainable electricity. Consumers? That is all of us. Energy planners? That is a small number of them.

30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself

Now this is GREAT!!! The Runner Up for the Friday Post.

Hey folks,

My friend Laura Posted this on Facebook. I clinked the link to see how bad I am to myself and found that I was guilty of quite a bit of these. I think a couple are more important than you think when you first read them. I'll comment a little, but really? No comment is needed. Check this out.

30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself

As Maria Robinson once said, “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” Nothing could be closer to the truth. But before you can begin this process of transformation you have to stop doing the things that have been holding you back.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

1.Stop spending time with the wrong people. – Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you. If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you. You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot. Never, ever insist yourself to someone who continuously overlooks your worth. And remember, it’s not the people that stand by your side when you’re at your best, but the ones who stand beside you when you’re at your worst that are your true friends.

2.Stop running from your problems. – Face them head on. No, it won’t be easy. There is no person in the world capable of flawlessly handling every punch thrown at them. We aren’t supposed to be able to instantly solve problems. That’s not how we’re made. In fact, we’re made to get upset, sad, hurt, stumble and fall. Because that’s the whole purpose of living – to face problems, learn, adapt, and solve them over the course of time. This is what ultimately molds us into the person we become.

3.Stop lying to yourself. – You can lie to anyone else in the world, but you can’t lie to yourself. Our lives improve only when we take chances, and the first and most difficult chance we can take is to be honest with ourselves. Read The Road Less Traveled.

4.Stop putting your own needs on the back burner. – The most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of loving someone too much, and forgetting that you are special too. Yes, help others; but help yourself too. If there was ever a moment to follow your passion and do something that matters to you, that moment is now.

5.Stop trying to be someone you’re not. – One of the greatest challenges in life is being yourself in a world that’s trying to make you like everyone else. Someone will always be prettier, someone will always be smarter, someone will always be younger, but they will never be you. Don’t change so people will like you. Be yourself and the right people will love the real you.

6.Stop trying to hold onto the past. – You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading your last one.

7.Stop being scared to make a mistake. – Doing something and getting it wrong is at least ten times more productive than doing nothing. Every success has a trail of failures behind it, and every failure is leading towards success. You end up regretting the things you did NOT do far more than the things you did.

8.Stop berating yourself for old mistakes. – We may love the wrong person and cry about the wrong things, but no matter how things go wrong, one thing is for sure, mistakes help us find the person and things that are right for us. We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future. Every single thing that has ever happened in your life is preparing you for a moment that is yet to come.

9.Stop trying to buy happiness. – Many of the things we desire are expensive. But the truth is, the things that really satisfy us are totally free – love, laughter and working on our passions.

10.Stop exclusively looking to others for happiness. – If you’re not happy with who you are on the inside, you won’t be happy in a long-term relationship with anyone else either. You have to create stability in your own life first before you can share it with someone else. Read Stumbling on Happiness.

11.Stop being idle. – Don’t think too much or you’ll create a problem that wasn’t even there in the first place. Evaluate situations and take decisive action. You cannot change what you refuse to confront. Making progress involves risk. Period! You can’t make it to second base with your foot on first.

12.Stop thinking you’re not ready. – Nobody ever feels 100% ready when an opportunity arises. Because most great opportunities in life force us to grow beyond our comfort zones, which means we won’t feel totally comfortable at first.

13.Stop getting involved in relationships for the wrong reasons. – Relationships must be chosen wisely. It’s better to be alone than to be in bad company. There’s no need to rush. If something is meant to be, it will happen – in the right time, with the right person, and for the best reason. Fall in love when you’re ready, not when you’re lonely.

14.Stop rejecting new relationships just because old ones didn’t work. – In life you’ll realize that there is a purpose for everyone you meet. Some will test you, some will use you and some will teach you. But most importantly, some will bring out the best in you.

15.Stop trying to compete against everyone else. – Don’t worry about what others doing better than you. Concentrate on beating your own records every day. Success is a battle between YOU and YOURSELF only.

16.Stop being jealous of others. – Jealousy is the art of counting someone else’s blessings instead of your own. Ask yourself this: “What’s something I have that everyone wants?”

17.Stop complaining and feeling sorry for yourself. – Life’s curveballs are thrown for a reason – to shift your path in a direction that is meant for you. You may not see or understand everything the moment it happens, and it may be tough. But reflect back on those negative curveballs thrown at you in the past. You’ll often see that eventually they led you to a better place, person, state of mind, or situation. So smile! Let everyone know that today you are a lot stronger than you were yesterday, and you will be.

18.Stop holding grudges. – Don’t live your life with hate in your heart. You will end up hurting yourself more than the people you hate. Forgiveness is not saying, “What you did to me is okay.” It is saying, “I’m not going to let what you did to me ruin my happiness forever.” Forgiveness is the answer… let go, find peace, liberate yourself! And remember, forgiveness is not just for other people, it’s for you too. If you must, forgive yourself, move on and try to do better next time.

19.Stop letting others bring you down to their level. – Refuse to lower your standards to accommodate those who refuse to raise theirs.

20.Stop wasting time explaining yourself to others. – Your friends don’t need it and your enemies won’t believe it anyway. Just do what you know in your heart is right.

21.Stop doing the same things over and over without taking a break. – The time to take a deep breath is when you don’t have time for it. If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting. Sometimes you need to distance yourself to see things clearly.

22.Stop overlooking the beauty of small moments. – Enjoy the little things, because one day you may look back and discover they were the big things. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.

23.Stop trying to make things perfect. – The real world doesn’t reward perfectionists, it rewards people who get things done. Read Getting Things Done.

24.Stop following the path of least resistance. – Life is not easy, especially when you plan on achieving something worthwhile. Don’t take the easy way out. Do something extraordinary.

25.Stop acting like everything is fine if it isn’t. – It’s okay to fall apart for a little while. You don’t always have to pretend to be strong, and there is no need to constantly prove that everything is going well. You shouldn’t be concerned with what other people are thinking either – cry if you need to – it’s healthy to shed your tears. The sooner you do, the sooner you will be able to smile again.

26.Stop blaming others for your troubles. – The extent to which you can achieve your dreams depends on the extent to which you take responsibility for your life. When you blame others for what you’re going through, you deny responsibility – you give others power over that part of your life.

27.Stop trying to be everything to everyone. – Doing so is impossible, and trying will only burn you out. But making one person smile CAN change the world. Maybe not the whole world, but their world. So narrow your focus.

28.Stop worrying so much. – Worry will not strip tomorrow of its burdens, it will strip today of its joy. One way to check if something is worth mulling over is to ask yourself this question: “Will this matter in one year’s time? Three years? Five years?” If not, then it’s not worth worrying about.

29.Stop focusing on what you don’t want to happen. – Focus on what you do want to happen. Positive thinking is at the forefront of every great success story. If you awake every morning with the thought that something wonderful will happen in your life today, and you pay close attention, you’ll often find that you’re right.

30.Stop being ungrateful. – No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs. Instead of thinking about what you’re missing, try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing.
You know what? I'll stick with no comment needed. You know who you are, and you know what applies to you. Think about it. Be right back.

GE Filed 57,000-Page Tax Return, Paid No Taxes on $14 Billion in Profits

"So Petey, you're ok with this? "General Electric, one of the largest corporations in America, filed a whopping 57,000-page federal tax return earlier this year but didn't pay taxes on $14 billion in profits. The return, which was filed electronically, would have been 19 feet high if printed out and stacked." Ahh, capitalism at it's best."

Hey folks,

Since I couldn't be here on Friday, I thought I would take a few seconds to answer a question that I would have on Friday, TODAY. I love when the Liberals use GE to attempt to ask Got ya questions. {Smile}

Here is the Link: The Weekly Standard - GE Filed 57,000-Page Tax Return, Paid No Taxes on $14 Billion in Profits 1:11 PM, Nov 17, 2011 • By JOHN MCCORMACK

General Electric, one of the largest corporations in America, filed a whopping 57,000-page federal tax return earlier this year but didn't pay taxes on $14 billion in profits. The return, which was filed electronically, would have been 19 feet high if printed out and stacked.

The fact that GE paid no taxes in 2010 was widely reported earlier this year, but the size of its tax return first came to light when House budget committee chairman Paul Ryan (R, Wisc.) made the case for corporate tax reform at a recent townhall meeting. "GE was able to utilize all of these various loopholes, all of these various deductions--it's legal," Ryan said. Nine billion dollars of GE's profits came overseas, outside the jurisdiction of U.S. tax law. GE wasn't taxed on $5 billion in U.S. profits because it utilized numerous deductions and tax credits, including tax breaks for investments in low-income housing, green energy, research and development, as well as depreciation of property.

"I asked the GE tax officer, 'How long was your tax form?'" Ryan said. "He said, 'Well, we file electronically, we don't measure in pages.'" Ryan asked for an estimate, which came back at a stunning 57,000 pages. When Ryan relayed the story at the townhall meeting in Janesville, there were audible gasps from the crowd.
So is there a problem? Yup. And it is the Republicans attempting to fix it. However, GE IS Obama. {Laughing} Obama IS in bed with GE. He is OK with them paying nothing. They are his friends. He is only against people that are not his friends. He is only against those that do NOT contribute to his Causes and Campaign.

Ken Kies, a tax lawyer who represents GE, confirmed to THE WEEKLY STANDARD the tax return would have been 57,000 pages had it been filed on paper. The size of GE's tax return has more than doubled in the last five years.

Ryan used the data point to underscore the irrationality of the corporate income tax code. He also contrasted GE with UPS to make the point that the corporate income tax code doesn't make sense. "UPS paid a 34 percent effective tax rate," while its biggest foreign competitor, DHL, paid a 24 percent tax rate, Ryan said.

The problems with the corporate taxes occur because "Republicans and Democrats, both parties, sit in Congress and they're picking winners and losers," Ryan said. The solution, according to the Wisconsin congressman: "Get rid of those loopholes and lower tax rates by a corresponding amount. Don't lose revenue, but for every loophole you pull out, and deny a company from being able to get this little carveout, you can lower the rates so we can be more competitive with our competitors overseas. We want to stem the bleeding of jobs going overseas, of foreign companies buying U.S. companies and taking headquarters overseas."
Do you remember what the Don, Trump, said not too long ago? He said raise my taxes, but give me back my deductions. Why? He would actually pay LESS. What the Republicans want to do is lower Rates for all, but CLOSE the Loopholes, which would FORCE someone like GE to PAY their "Fair Share." So someone like UPS would pay less, but ALL would pay SOMETHING and that would INCREASE Revenue in total. For some reason, I don't know why, the Libs and Obama are just not down with that. They give too much money to them? They do not want to bite the hand that feeds them? Just a thought.

Spending Too Much Money? Cut Out Pointless Things

Sounds like a good Idea. But?

Hey folks,

Happy Friday to ya. This is actually pretty funny if you think about it.

"Hey Peter. I'm spending way too much money. I can't afford it anymore. I mean way too much money. I spend out of control even. But you know what? It's all ok. I'm going to save money by cancelling my Newspaper delivery and go with only online stuff. Yes, I'm serious about saving money. Now it's ok if I spend $1000.00 on this, and $5000.00 on that. I'm serious about saving money. I'm no longer going to get the paper delivered."

Yeah I got that too. I should probably not admit that, once they find out, I may stop getting it. But I got that too. What they are talking about here is this STUPID Email that David Plouffe, Senior Advisor to the President, sent out. The Topic? Saving money. A Contest for Federal Employees that come up with Ideas on how to save money, then summit them. The Winner gets to sit down with The One himself, and present his / her Idea to Obama directly. {Laughing}

What an Award. I know. The most obvious point here is SO? He doesn't listen to his own Advisers. The "Experts." Those with Degrees and YEARS of Experience. But they want Bobby in Housing to think that Obama will LISTEN to him? {Sigh} Sad thing is, most of these Employees probably DO believe that.

So what are some of the Ideas submitted?

Matthew Ritsko, NASA: At Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA employees purchase specialized tools and ground support equipment for developing and building flight projects. Many of the tools are not tracked once projects are complete, and as a result funds are wasted on duplicative purchases. In order to cut down on repeat purchases, Matthew suggests creating a centralized tool repository – or "lending library" – where these tools can be stored, catalogued, and checked in and out by NASA employees.

Eileen Hearty, Department of Housing and Urban Development: All across the country, HUD contractors and staff conduct annual Management and Occupancy Reviews of multifamily properties (i.e. apartments) that are privately-owned and subsidized by HUD. Many of these properties receive high marks year after year and consistently provide excellent service. Eileen proposes a reduction in the frequency of reviews for high-performing properties – a change that would reward superior properties for their excellent work and reduce the travel costs, staff time, and fees paid by HUD for these reviews.

Kevin Korzeniewski, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency: When Kevin began working as an attorney in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, he automatically received a new set of U.S. Code books that get updated and reordered every year. Because the information in these books is now available online through LexisNexis, Westlaw, and free sources – where it is also updated in real time – Kevin suggests that his agency stop automatically ordering these books.

Faith Stanfield, Social Security Administration: Every quarter, the Social Security Administration (SSA) produces and mails OASIS, a 25-plus-page, glossy magazine to 88,000 SSA employees all across the country and more than 1,000 retired SSA employees. The OASIS magazine has been around for decades; however, as more and more SSA communications shift online, Faith suggests that the magazine be released only in an online format to save money on printing and shipping that could be put to better use elsewhere.
So basically, stop putting things in Print and go Online, and keep better track of tools to avoid the Cost of buying new ones. Meanwhile, we are Spending TRILLIONS of Dollars. {Laughing}

But that's OK. See? They really care about looking for ways to Save Money. See. They want to listen to the People. They CARE. I agree with you. It is Pathetic. Sad thing is though, most of their Base will actually buy it. See? They care about cutting spending. I even got to Vote. I matter. They care what I think. Unlike that Evil Bush guy. This President wants input by the little people.

2012 is coming. A more important Election has NEVER taken place. Do not get distracted by all the nonsense out there. We need Obama and Crew GONE. We need someone to at least START to save this Country. We can not afford another four years of this.
Peter

First Against, Now FOR War? Liberalism Explained

"So many things wrong with this. Why is this not bigger news. Now we have "Hunter Killers?" Is time ticking? Why are we even there?"

Hey folks,

Continued...

"Did you see that we now have a Base in Ethiopia? Not just a Base, a "Hunter Killer" Base. In the Post; "The Air Force has invested millions of dollars to upgrade an airfield in Arba Minch, Ethiopia, where it has built a small annex to house a fleet of drones that can be equipped with Hellfire missiles and satellite-guided bombs." and it says "The compound is about half an acre in size and is surrounded by high fences, security screens and lights on extended poles. The U.S. military personnel and contractors eat at a cafe in the passenger terminal, where they are served American-style food, according to travelers who have been there.

Arba Minch is located about 300 miles south of Addis Ababa and about 600 miles east of the Somali border. Standard models of the Reaper have a range of about 1,150 miles, according to the Air Force.

The MQ-9 Reaper, known as a “hunter killer,” is manufactured by General Atomics and is an advanced version of the Predator, the most common armed drone in the Air Force’s fleet." Why is this not bigger news? Then again, why is it news at all? Secret Base, oh, located here? But this president has killed leaders and invaded more countries than Bush ever thought of. Why no outcry? now we have "Hunter Killers?" When will the anti-war crazies going to wake up and start calling for Obamaman to be arrested and charge with war crimes?" I don't get it. I was against War with Bush. I am even MORE against War with Obama. Really, is it as simple as he's black so ok? I really don't get it."

WELL, CL, why not tell us what you really think. {Laughing} First? Hunter Killers? I think that's a reference to the original Terminator Movie. The Big automated Flying Drones. Uh, we have had them for a LONG time now. Maybe not to that SCALE, but we have had them.

Second, I get your point. Secret Base, Located HERE, See map and Blueprint. {Smile} They do this all the time. I also get that nothing negative will be reported in reference to the now, what 5 Wars? I do not believe that it is because Obama is Black. Well, mostly. But that He is a Liberal and HE CONTROLS the Press. He says, they report. It really is just that simple. There is no more Free Press. It is Corporate News that is Funded by a Couple of people who Control the Content. It is ALL to drive an agenda.

See, the problem you, and many others have in trying to understand Liberals and the NEW Liberalism is this, you are trying to understand it Logically. You are looking at yourself, and saying How can they believe this, act like that, whatever. The problem is simple. YOU have Core Beliefs. A set of Standards. You believe in Right and Wrong. YOU believe that we should Champion what is Right, and fight against what is Wrong. You believe that what is Right, is ALWAYS Right, no matter who or what is involved. And what is Wrong is ALWAYS Wrong, no matter who or what is involved. It is WRONG for a Liberal or a Conservative to Lie, Cheat, or Steal. It is Wrong for a Liberal or a Conservative to Invade another Country, start Wars, or get into Wars, that have nothing to do with us. You feel it is WRONG for a Liberal or a Conservative to Spend money we do not have. You believe that WHOMEVER is in Office, should adhere to the Constitution. The Rule of Law. You have your Core Beliefs, and it matters NOT to you, who or what is involved. It is what it is.

Liberals do NOT have core beliefs. They just don't. They were against the War, because a Republican was in Office. They were against Wire Taps, Gitmo, Homeland Security, and what they CLAIMED to be Unconstitutional, while a Republican was in Office. But the Truth is, they really were not against ANY of it. They were simply using whatever they could to attempt to get the Republican OUT of Office. Now that they have a Liberal in Office, that put us in THREE more Wars, kept Wire Taps, Gitmo Open, and INCREASED the Size and the Scope of Homeland Security, they ignore it. Why? Because the Truth is, they really don't care about ANY OF IT. They only care about Power, Control, and of course, all that Money, as long as it is THEM who have it.

I know, I know. It's not Logical. But that IS who these people are. Evident by their LACK of concern now. This is why it is so important to Vote these Idiots out of Power, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. And we have to do so in a BIG way. Only by sheer numbers can we save this Country and Repeal the Damage we have sustained. We can not afford 4 more years of this. I mean SURVIVE. This Country is in Trouble. There is only one fix for it. New Leadership. Period.

Don't give yourself a Headache CL. You can not apply Logic or Truth when trying to figure these Lunatics out. Just accept them for who and what they are, and understand, they MUST be Stopped.

The Majority Agree With The Flea Party?

"I was wondering what you really thought of this. Seems that there is a Poll out there that says more people support this movement than they do the Tea Party. What say you Peter?"

Hey folks,

I say it is completely Bogus. The Left, which includes the Media are scared to death of the Tea Party. 2010 woke them up. Now, going into the 2012 Elections, they KNOW that Obama is toast. The Senate is going to change hands, and the People are not happy with Politics as usual.

You want to know about a true desire for change? The Tea Party is it. This group of low life PAID Protesters and Sheeple that are part of the Occupy Wall Street Crowd are nothing but a Joke. This is NOT a real, grassroots Movement. This is an Orchestrated ATTACK on Capitalism, and the America we know and love. Some of these Morons are being paid more than some of you make in a week to be Protesting what they do not even understand. Then on top of that, they want FREE STUFF from those they are Protesting.

The big News now out of this bunch is that they are upset that Bloomberg in NYC wants to clean up after their mess. They are upset that he is tired of them turning the Park into a Pig Sty. Oh, and they want the City {Tax Payers} to pay for Dumpsters and Porta Potties.

This is the Liberal answer to the Tea Party. But the Tea Party they are NOT nor will they ever be. They are a Joke. When the money goes away, so will they. It really is that simple.

As for this Poll? It makes no sense whatsoever. Seriously. More people in this country believe that we should have MORE Taxes? They think we should just forgive ALL debt? They believe that there should be no Corporations and we need MORE Government? Uh, NO. The truth is, the MAJORITY of this Country want the exact OPPOSITE of what these Protesters are calling for. They WANT less Taxes, Smaller Government, more FREEDOM. The majority of this Country are not the Flea Party. {Thank you Ann Coulter} They share their views with the TEA PARTY.

As for the Tea Party dying or being insignificant? I guess we'll see in 2012. 4 more years of Obama and Crew will KILL this Country. We can not let that happen.
Peter

Occupy Wall Street

"Hey Pete, what do you think about the "Occupy Wall Street" Movement? Liberal Tea Party? Or just a bunch of "kooks" as you call liberals?"

Hey folks,

Happy Thursday to ya. I may not be here tomorrow, so I wanted to do the "From the Emails Segment" today. This is a question that I have gotten in the past week. A couple of times Via Email, and a few times in person. My response is always the same. They are nothing but Kooks. They do not even know WHY they are there. But now, they are nothing more than an Organized Liberal SHOW. With the complete backing and reporting, by the State Run MMD, they appear much bigger than they really are.

But then Yesterday came. Here I was minding my own business. Driving down the road, when Rush Limbaugh starting talking about them. It was so funny, I got laughing so hard, I had to actually pull off the road. So? Since he can put it far better than I, here is Rush Limbaugh.

RUSH: I mentioned at the open of the program that I got some stuff from the official site of those kooks calling themselves Occupy Wall Street. The official site of these kooks is called General Assembly, and I have here the minutes from a meeting. They posted the meeting minutes on their website and discussed at length, should we sew our own sleeping bags or give in and buy 'em? Here's a little excerpt.

Justine: "I'm concerned that buying new sleeping bags is against the principles that people came here for."

-Why? -
Justine: "I was under the understanding that there is an anti capotalist [sic] --" by the way, capitalist is spelled c-a-p-o-t every time it's written here, capotalist [sic]. "I was under the understanding that there is an anti capotalist [sic] part of this movement and consumptions when we feel emergency need is how we deal with issues in capoticalsm. [sic] Should we address issues the same way."

"That point's been brought up before. On the point of consumption, it will be next to impossible for us to operate without buying some of the stuff we need. We try to balance our principles with our need without making it too difficult. I've been visiting Salvation Army stores and buying as many sleeping bags as I can so I believe it's possible for us to get our supplies from charity stores and the like."

I have an idea. These people, they obviously want to live in their communes, and they want to sew their own sleeping bags, and there's more. I mean that's just a little excerpt. Why don't we find a state with vast wilderness where the federal government owns significant acreage and just give these people a piece of that land. They can knit their own clothes and sleeping bags, they can grow their own food and their own pot, but they will have to walk there. So we make sure it's a western state: Montana, Idaho, a lot of open air out there, a lot of federal land. These people want to live as far away from capitalism as possible, fine, give them the land, they can go knit and sew, do whatever they want to do out there, but of course they can't use the airlines, they can't drive cars. Those are evil, destroying the planet, capitalist.

General Assembly minutes, October 3rd, 7:30 p.m. "Wanted to make sure that we the people are okay with the people up front running it. The people up front are facilitators. Anyone can facilitate if they get in touch with the working group. Bri: Is a co-facilitator. She wants consent on weather [sic] of [sic] not we agree for them to be facilitators. ... Let's move the agenda first. Passed with no blocks."

"The first point, comfort budget." Okay, here's Jeff, he's one of the guys, one of the leaders of the group, they got a budget for comfort. He says, "I work with comfort. We have some major concerned [sic] about people sleeping here. Mainly we need sleeping bags. Sleeping bags cost money and no one is donating sleeping bags. With that in mind we have a proposal to use some of the donated money to buy sleeping bags. We would like to request about 2000 dollars from the fund for sleeping bags. We think if we buy 100 $20 sleeping bags, that would be enough for the time being."

"HOW THIS WILL WORK, we will ask for questions then concernes [sic] then blocks, then we will vote. CHRIS is stack taker: So I just want to know how many people are sleeping here already and if it’s projected that number will increase. Someone on medical counted around 400 the other night and it HAS been increasing. Roney: My question is does the budget requested account for taxes on the sleeping bags?"

These are the minutes. This is what these people were talking about at their board meeting. This is the Occupy Wall Street group.

"David: How long will 20 dollar sleeping bags last with winter coming up? Not very.
Great concern, we have none currently they are the most asked for item. We’d rather buy cheap ones now. We also have more blankets than sleeping bags so you can use blankets in conjunction with sleeping bags. LUKE: How many requests for sleeping bags do we get every day? He doesn’t know off the top of his head an accurate number. But he would guess about 100. Should we not just buy fabric? And construct sleeping bags?"

Then someone goes on to say: "I'm concerned buying a new sleeping bag is against the principles that people came here for." Somebody says, "Why?" "I was under the understanding that there is an anti capotalist [sic] part of this movement and consumptions when we feel emergency need is how we deal with issues in capoticalsm. [sic]"

Then the next set of minutes: needs of the occupiers. Most needed: "Sleeping bags, blankets, tarps, and large clear plastic storage bins to keep it all dry, polar fleece sweaters, pants, socks --" this is what they want people to give them, the Occupy Wall Street kooks. This is what they want people to donate them. It isn't gonna be long, folks, before we are going to hear that the Republicans gave the protesters blankets that were infected with smallpox. You wait. Some of these people are gonna get sick, gonna blame it on Republican donations to try to thin the herd. Well, the Republicans are gonna fix the bridges so they collapse when you drive across one and sabotage all the bridges and so forth. "We're also looking for volunteer legal counsel, doctors, nurses, dentists, mental health professionals, a volunteer accountant, volunteer computer expert, artists, people willing to do loads of laundry, and folks to print off fliers for us. Dedicated, capable volunteers for the food committee."

They've got a website tax deductible monetary donations can be made at. So they want capitalists to give them stuff. Doctors, nurses, they want these people to perform their services free, while they are at the same time protesting everything that would make any of that possible. (interruption) It's obvious that that's what they need. They obviously need more mental health professionals than anything else. And that list of people they need, isn't that a group of people you'd describe as "the rich"? Legal counsel, doctors, nurses, dentists, mental health professionals, an accountant, computer experts, artists? And, of course, people willing to do laundry. Why don't they do their own laundry? Oh, because they're gonna be too busy protesting. Exactly. This is who these people are. This is what they're agonizing over. They need all this stuff, but it's a great conflict, because to go buy it they think is self-defeating. That's helping the "capitolists." So they want the "capitolists," the people they're protesting against to come donate items and their services.

See, these people's mothers usually are the ones doing their laundry, and now mom's not around. It's their mother that makes their beds, but mom's not around. And it's their mom and dad that put food on the table for 'em, but their mom and dad aren't around 'cause they hate their mom and dad 'cause their mom and dad are evil capitalists, so they're out living on the cheap in their mind while asking all the people that actually make the country work to give them stuff.
{Laughing} "So they want capitalists to give them stuff. Doctors, nurses, they want these people to perform their services free, while they are at the same time protesting everything that would make any of that possible." This really is the hypocrisy of Liberalism. This is a REAL Life example. "This is who these people are. This is what they're agonizing over. They need all this stuff, but it's a great conflict, because to go buy it they think is self-defeating. That's helping the "capitolists." So they want the "capitolists," the people they're protesting against to come donate items and their services."

Now we learn that Unions, most likely on orders directly from the White House, are BUSING professional Protesters in to Protest. Most of them will most likely be PAID. Tea Party this is NOT. Liberal or otherwise. This is a Joke. A Saturday Night Live Skit. A show. But I love it. They wants to live free, as long as they get all the creature comforts that Capitalism provides. They just do not want to pay for it.

Obama: No One Talks To The Media, Class Dismissed

"So much for Freedom of Speech? Obama wants to control what the media tells us about health and human services. Lovely."

Hey folks,

Here is the LINK: The Commentary- HHS Bans Staff from Speaking Freely with Media

Health and Human Services has just released a revised media policy, which forbids staffers from talking to journalists without first getting authorization from the HHS press office. The policy also bans employees from speaking off-the-record with reporters, rules that could significantly hinder investigative journalism.

Health-focused trade publications, which are dependent on confidential sources in agencies like the HHS, are already blasting the policy. Jim Dickinson, editor of FDA Webview and FDA Review called them a “Soviet-style power grab” and warned that the “existing [trade] media will likely die out” because of them:

The new formal HHS Guidelines on the Provision of Information to the News Media represent, to this 36-year veteran of reporting FDA news, a Soviet-style power-grab. By requiring all HHS employees to arrange their information-sharing with news media through their agency press office, HHS has formalized a creeping information-control mechanism that informally began during the Clinton Administration and was accelerated by the Bush and Obama administrations.

Consider how impossible these guidelines make the acquisition by a journalist of confidential internal sources in an agency like FDA. The existence of such confidential sources gave an economic foundation to and made possible the foundation of my own media, and the founding of earlier trade media such as The Pink Sheet and Food Chemical News, among many others.

The rules will make accurate coverage of the HHS much more difficult. Banning HHS staffers from talking off-the-record could have a chilling effect, and requiring them to get their conversations with journalists authorized by the media relations office means that the public will get less truth and more spin.

And as Cato’s Michael Cannon points out, the policy changes come at a noteworthy time:

Since this came on the heels of an HHS official announcing that the agency is scuttling ObamaCare‘s long-term care entitlement, a.k.a. the “CLASS Act,” one wonders if there is a connection. Or maybe HHS is just motivated by a general fear that the more the public learns about ObamaCare, the less we will like it.

It sounds like the changes have been happening slowly for some time, but the agency’s decision might have been prompted by an embarrassing email leak from the CLASS Act office last week. The major concern now is that if HHS gets away with this new policy, other government agencies could end up following suit.
Well? This is not new. One, the Mainstream Media Drones, the MMD, have simply reported whatever they are told to Report, and NOT to, for DECADES. They just stopped trying to hind it since 2000 when Bush got Elected. They REALLY gave up hiding their Liberal Lean since Bush's Re-election. But this is not new. That's why I call them the MMD. Hell, what is it, MSNBC I think that even ADVERTISE that they now "Learn Forward." In other words, "Progressive." Which is another word for LIBERAL.

Second, I have worked FOR Companies and Organizations that had Policies that Stated that NO ONE could speak to the Media without Permission to do so. So none of this is NEW or surprising. None of it is really News. But THIS is. This one line in this Piece IS News.

Since this came on the heels of an HHS official announcing that the agency is scuttling ObamaCare‘s long-term care entitlement, a.k.a. the “CLASS Act,” one wonders if there is a connection.
Ah, yes. The Class Act. Remember that? That was a long term care funding for Seniors. Nursing Homes and Such. End of Life Care. It was said to be set to rake in $86 billion in premiums from 2012-2021. This was included in Obamacare to "prove" that is would actually lower costs and keep it under that One Trillion number. But the problem is, that it was all a lie. Class would pay out substantially more than that over the long term, rapidly generating Deficits and go into Bankruptcy. Even Obama's own Crew Members said so. They even said that the Class Act should not be included in Obamacare. That is WAS unsustainable.

So back on September 22, 2011:

This morning, Bob Yee, who was tasked with serving as the actuary of the CLASS program, sent out an email to his colleagues, announcing his departure from HHS, given that “HHS has decided to close down the CLASS Office effective tomorrow.” Yee writes that “I believe I have made a contribution to CLASS to the best of my ability and hope I haven’t embarrassed the actuarial profession too much.”
So no more Long Term Care for Seniors? We already know Obama's Plan for old People. "Take a Pill." {Smile} So the real News here is NOT that Obama wants to control what his Crew say to the Media. The real News here? Class dismissed.

Sane Workable Policy, Insane More of The Same?

“The president’s proposals are a poor substitute for the pro-growth policies that are needed to remove barriers to job creation in America,”

Hey folks,

"So? is Speaker Boehner's plan a sane alternative, or more of the same political games we have come to know and not so much love in Washington? What say you?"

Well, Obama's Plan is more of the same. I have an honest question for you. Did we not have a $800 BILLION Spending and Jobs Plan? What did we get for that? Now, we are suppose to believe that HALF that amount, $400 Billion, is suppose to do ALL the things Obama is claiming?

Look, the truth is, this is NOT a Jobs Plan. This is a Tax Plan. EVERY Tax that Obama WANTS and HAS wanted is in this thing. He keeps saying "Pass this Jobs Plan NOW," but not one Democrat has introduced it. No one is debating it, because it is not on the Floor. Harry Reid is even said to have said, "I do not know what to do with this." All this is is a Tax Plan and one that FAILED to Pass when the Liberals were running EVERYTHING. But NOW Obama wants to blame Congress for not doing anything to Create Jobs. Truth is, it is OBAMA and Liberal Ideology that is KILLING Jobs, Hurting the Economy, and lowering National Security.

Speaker Boehner's Plan is simple. It will WORK. It is what YOU would do at your house. It is SIMPLE to understand WHY the Math WORKS. Cut Spending. Stop spending what you do not have. Cut out Waste, and reduce things that although you may LIKE, you just can not afford anymore. DOWNSIZE.

Obama is SPEND, SPEND, SPEND. However, he needs to TAKE, TAKE, TAKE, YOUR money to Spend it. He produces nothing, sells nothing, adds nothing to the Market. All he CAN do is TAKE. Redistribution is what he is all about.

Another idea that I like from Speaker Boehner's Plan is “responsible spending to repair and improve infrastructure” which he feels that spending on Bridges and Highways should be tied to increased Oil and Natural Gas Exploration, Extraction, and Producing. Of course the Libs will never go for that. They get WAY too much money from Environmental Groups and it would also go against their Green Movement Scam. But it makes sense.

What ever happened to all those Shovel Ready Jobs that were waiting and raring to go with the $800 Billion? You know, the ones Obama JOKES about not being there NOW, AFTER That money has been spent. On what? Now Obama wants more of the same, and is promising more of the same, that he NEVER delivered. He has only made matters FAR worse. So? Sane workable Policy, or Insane more of the same? Which would YOU prefer?

Reason to Rid Ourselves Of The U.S. Department of Education

"Pete, THIS IS PRICELESS!! I've been trying to think of a reason that I can give to my more liberal friends on why we should rid ourselves of the U.S. Department of Education. Well well well, seems Secretary of Education Arne Duncan gave the best reason of all. As you would say, you can't make this stuff up."

{Laughing} Hey folks,

Happy Friday to ya. Yeah this really is priceless. And the best reason EVER to do away with it. Oh before we get to that, seems Irene missed us all together. We skated on this one, Our thoughts and prayers now go out to our friends in the North. Be ready, she is coming.

So what RH is talking about is this. It's from CNS News - U.S. Ed Secretary: 'The Best Ideas...in Education Are Never Going to Come from Me' Wednesday, August 24, 2011 By Edwin Mora

(CNSNews.com) - U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said today that the "best ideas ... in education are never going to come from me or frankly from anyone else in Washington.”

He also said some American schools are testing their students too much.

“Washington can never run public education, and what we want to do is we want to be a good partner,” Duncan said in a webcast in which he answered questions submit via Twitter.

“We want to reward courage, we want to reward excellence, we want to reward creativity, we want to hold folks accountable to high bars, but education has always been and should be at the local level,” said Duncan,

“And the best ideas, I’ve always said, in education are never going to come from me or frankly from anyone else in Washington,” he said.
Check out the Video HERE!

“They’re always going to come from great teachers, great principals at the local level,” said Duncan. “We want to hold them accountable, but give them lots more room to move and to do the right thing for the children in their community where they know best what those children and what the community need.”

Duncan argued that in some jurisdictions students spend too much time preparing for and taking tests.

“I think in some places we do test too much, I think it varies,” said Duncan. “So, do I think we should evaluate students each year to see how they’re doing and progressing? Absolutely. But when you have too many tests or spending all your time on test prep that never leads to good results--so I think there’s real variation around the country. I think some places are doing this pretty well. Some are probably absolutely over-testing.”

Duncan said that 10 days of testing during a school year was too much.

“My children are in a great public school system,” he said. “They’re evaluated annually. I have no problem with that. If they’re getting tested 15 times a year or multiple different tests I have a problem with that.”

When asked how many days of the “traditional standard bubble test” are too many, Duncan said, “It should be a tiny percent of what we’re doing. So should students be tested 10 days? No, I think 10 days is a lot.”

“I think that’s a lot, yeah,” said Duncan. “And it’s not just the testing. … It’s the filling the bubble, you know, practicing that and, you know, if all you’re doing is doing that kind of work and not doing great instruction, great creativity, the students aren’t going to do well anyway.”

Duncan criticized the Bush administration’s No Child Left Behind Law saying it was an “impediment” for education. He said states will be able to apply for No Child Left Behind waivers in September, adding that the Obama administration has the authority to grant those without breaking any laws.

“I’ve talked to almost every governor,” said Duncan about the waivers. “I think I’ve talked to 47, 48 governors. What’s interesting, John, is there’s lots of noise here in Washington. Every single governor has said thanks for moving in this direction. Not one governor has said we don’t need this. And many governors have actually said, ‘Thank God someone in Washington is actually listening to real teachers and real people.’”

According to the Office of Management and Budget, Department of Education spending rose from $33.476 billion in fiscal 2000 to $92.858 billion in fiscal 2010.
So since: "best ideas ... in education are never going to come from me or frankly from anyone else in Washington.” and “We want to hold them accountable, but give them lots more room to move and to do the right thing for the children in their community where they know best what those children and what the community need.”Along with the Cost of $92.858 Billion dollars. Why do we need them? I agree one hundred percent with Arne Duncan. If we got the Federal Government out of it. Let the Locals handle it. Look what happened in Wisconsin. Gov. Scott Walker saw the Problem. Fixed the Problem with help of Bold Republicans. What happened? Smaller Class Sizes. Balanced School Budgets, some looking a SURPLUSES. Teachers now Paid on Results. The Schools in Wisconsin have in a VERY Short time, become a shining example of what CAN happen when the Liberals just get out of the way. When the Federal Government STOPS, or in this case WAS Stopped, interfering.

I might have to give Arne Duncan the Logic Award this Week. Of course the Kids will love the fact he thinks they are tested too much. {Smile} But he IS right here. So lets do away with this over priced FAILURE of a Federal Government Department. We now not only have an admission that they are pointless, but we have a real life example to point to.

Have a great Weekend folks. Again, to our friends in the North. Irene is on her way. Be prepared, be safe, and I will see you all on Sunday.
Peter
