Happy Tuesday to ya. This is a GREAT Article. It really is. Just one problem, which it even admits. It's by News Chief - What U.S. energy crisis? Published: Monday, March 26, 2012 at 6:28 a.m.

Every election year, the politicians take malicious delight in panicking Americans with lurid predictions of an imminent energy crisis: We're running out of oil. We're running out of natural gas. The oil sheikhs will be dictating how we run the country.

The solution, of course, is always to elect the politicians making the charges. It's all nonsense.

OK remember this. To say we need to Elect a Politician to CHANGE Obama's Energy Policies is nonsense? We will look at this again in a few seconds.

A March 20 Wall Street Journal commentary by Citi's top commodities researcher, Ed Morse, contends that "in energy, North America is becoming the new Middle East."

That might have been an overstatement, but not by much.

The U.S. and Canada's proven reserves of oil and natural gas are increasing at rates that would have been considered fantasy only a few years ago.

The conservative calculations of the Energy Information Administration said oil reserves increased 8.6 percent from December 2008 to December 2009 and natural gas reserves rose 11.3 percent — and those were economically down years when exploration would presumably slow down.

Natural gas reserves reached their highest level since 1971.

Proven reserves are those that the EIA deems reasonably recoverable given existing technology and economic conditions.

Of course, the technology is constantly improving and high demand makes the recovery profitable.

And then there are new discoveries, like the Bakken Field underlying almost all of North Dakota and parts of South Dakota and Montana. It is estimated to hold 481 billion barrels of oil.

Indeed, because of our refining capacity, the United States became a net petroleum exporter last year for the first time since 1949.

In The Wall Street Journal, Morse writes, "The United States has become the fastest-growing oil and gas producer in the world, and it is likely to remain so for the rest of this decade and into the 2020s."

Now this is true. However, a bit misleading. This is IN SPITE of Obama's War on Energy. His outright hostility to anything Oil, Natural Gas, and Coal. IN SPITE of Obama standing in the way, we have been able to do this. Imagine what we could do if he would get OUT of the way.

Canada is enjoying a similar boom in production and explorations. And one can hope that the overregulation and underinvestment restricting production in Mexico and Venezuela won't last forever.

We would profit greatly from and WITH them if Obama would allow the Keystone Pipeline to be fully built. He is NOT. HE is standing in the way of this also.

In the United States, it would help if the federal government wouldn't get distracted by uneconomic and wasteful incentives for ethanol, electric cars, wind mills that chop up great numbers of birds for tiny contributions to the electricity grid and schemes for extracting fuel from random plants.

OBAMA!

The government's efforts should be directed to research, investment and regulation to insure that this energy, which our economy must have, is extracted cleanly and safely.

The "new Middle East" sounds pretty good energy-wise, but we'd just as soon skip the political turmoil. With the coming election, we have a surplus of our own.

OK, so? "The solution, of course, is always to elect the politicians making the charges. It's all nonsense?" THAT is nonsense. It is OBAMA that said the Coal Industry would go Bankrupt, and he was proud about that. It is Obama that said he likes $4.00 plus a gallon Gas. It is HIS Administration that said we need to find a way to INCREASE our Gas Prices to those of Europe. They have of course backed off that. It is OBAMA that put into place Moratoriums both actual and de facto, that have cost America hundreds of thousands of Jobs. It IS Obama standing in the way of the Keystone Pipeline. Oh, he attempted to take credit for that of which he could not stop if he wanted to, and what he has no say on, but he IS blocking the Majority of it for no other reason than Politics.

It IS OBAMA who keeps throwing hundreds of Billions of Dollars into Companies that do nothing but line the Pockets of their CEO's, fire Employees, produce NOTHING, and go out of business. No folks, it's NOT nonsense. It's FACT! We need someone in Office that understands REALITY, and is committed to doing what we need to do. Forget the Gas Prices, that we KNOW from History WILL go down. Forget the new Jobs it WILL create, that we know from History. We are talking nearly if not more than a TRILLION dollars in NEW REVENUE that it WILL generate. We have a President that just says no. While saying NO, continues to spend more money. Think about that.

Real Life Proof We CAN Drill Our Way Out

Happy Tuesday to ya. Since it's Tuesday, time to check in at the Energy Front. Someone just asked me why I call it "The Energy Front." I call it the "Energy Front" because this Administration is at WAR with every form of Energy that makes the World work. From the Moratorium, to the De-Facto Moratorium, to the Oppressive Taxation and Regulations, to the OUTRIGHT Denial of anything that WILL actually work to: Create Jobs, Reduce Dependency, Increase Revenue and bring Costs Down.

They are in trouble folks. It really is that simple. We learned before that $4.00 Gas is a tipping point. Once the price hits $4.00 a gallon, people get angry. People start calling for action by Government. People start changing their Lifestyles. It gets loud out there. When it hit $4.00 a gallon, Obama attacked Bush saying he should do something. The Liberals attacked Bush saying he should do something. He did. He said we will use our own. He said we would Drill more and use more of our own resources. The Price of a Barrel of Oil dropped, overnight, like a rock.

So now, Oil is $108 a Barrel. Gas is near and in some places over, $4.00 a gallon again. This President is NOW saying there is nothing he can do. This President is NOW talking about it and completely LYING about it. He is coming out and attempting to get you to believe we are Drilling more and it's not working. {Sigh} Complete and utter Election Time BS.

It was Barack Obama who said he likes $4.00 a gallon Gas. It was HIS Administration that said they want to find a way to get American Gas Prices up to that of Europe. It is Barack Obama who said he would bankrupt the Coal industry, and your Energy Costs would "Necessarily Skyrocket."It is Barack Obama who imposed a Drilling Moratorium. Rigs all over packed up and took Tens of Thousands of American Jobs with them. It is Barack Obama who put into place a De-Facto Moratorium. Slowing and blocking the Permitting Process. It is Barack Obama who is attacking Natural Gas, it's too cheap. It is Barack Obama who is attacking Hydrofracking.

All this at the same time he is out there saying we are Drilling more and it's not working. Saying we can't Drill our way out of all this. Again folks. Complete and utter Election Time BS. What we CAN'T do Mr. President, is continue to throw hundreds of Billions of Dollars into Companies that line the pockets of Executives, while firing Employees, producing NOTHING, and going out of business.

What we can't do is get off Oil and flick a switch and go Green. There is NOTHING Green to switch to. NOTHING. I love this piece by Erick Erickson of Red State.

On Friday, the President of the United States accused his Republican opponents of being members of the Flat Earth Society because of their demands that the nation increase drilling.

In no small bit of irony, the President who bitterly lamented the rise of ATM’s and Internet travel options accused the GOP of wanting to bitterly cling to the past.

But what of Barack Obama’s energy policy? He likes to tout wind and solar technologies and batteries, but it seems while he accuses the GOP of being flat earthers, the reality is that the President is himself anti-science when it comes to the reality of domestic energy needs.

His solution to fueling our cars amounts to using unicorn farts as gas — which has just as much a chance of happening as the mythic battery powered cross country run.

{Laughing} "Unicorn Farts." Very funny. However, Farts are CO2 and that's a pollutant. Can't use that. {laughing}

So we can't Drill Our Way out? Look at North Dakota. Here is the entire Article. According to Personal Liberty Digest - The North Dakota Oil Boom March 16, 2012 by Chip Wood Yup. That's his name. Chip Wood.

The average prices of a gallon of gas and a barrel of oil are near 150-year highs. Most pundits expect them to go higher. Are you ready for $5-per-gallon gasoline?

In a recent speech, President Barack Obama said: “We’re not going to be able to just drill our way out of the problem of high gas prices.” Actually, to a large extent, we can. For proof, let’s compare what’s been happening in California to the extraordinary accomplishments in North Dakota.

According to the Fraser Institute’s 2011 Global Petroleum Survey, California is the worst State in the Nation for its hostility to drilling. In fact, measured against the rest of the world, California ranks 91st.

Thanks to years of placating environmental extremists, California’s anti-drilling regulations make it almost impossible to drill for new oil anywhere in the State, onshore or off. As a result, its production of oil has fallen by nearly one-third in the past 20 years. As oil production has declined, so has tax revenue. Even with several gigantic tax increases during that period, oil revenues in the State are down.

That’s too bad, because California needs every penny of income it can get. It has one of the highest State sales taxes and personal income taxes in the country. Still, it’s not enough. The budget deficit for the coming fiscal year will top $9 billion — the fifth year in a row of billion-dollar deficits. Governor Jerry Brown’s proposed solution? Raise taxes even higher.

So you won’t be surprised to learn that wealthy Californians are fleeing the State as fast as they can. According to census data, almost one-third of its wealthiest residents — those earning $500,000 a year or more — fled the State between 2007 and 2009. On our Left Coast, they won’t drill for oil. And pretty soon, they won’t be able to drill many millionaires, either.

Let’s contrast the near-bankruptcy of the People’s Republic of California with what’s been happening in one of the most independent and entrepreneurial States in the union: North Dakota.

In 1995, the U.S. Geological Survey estimated that there were 150 million “technically recoverable barrels of oil” in an area of North Dakota known as the Bakken Shale. In 2008, the number had climbed to 4 billion barrels. Two years later, it had doubled to 8 billion barrels.

Today, thanks to vast improvements in recovery technology as well as the discovery of vast new oceans of underground oil, estimates of “recoverable” oil in the Bakken Shale have tripled to 24 billion barrels. That is more oil than is being produced anywhere else in the United States, including Alaska’s famed Prudhoe Bay. But it’s a small fraction of what is possible.

Experts say that current technology can extract only about 6 percent of the oil they know is underground in North Dakota. Total estimated oil reserves are thus around 500 billion barrels. And new discoveries are happening all of the time.

Let me include an interesting footnote on the subject of “reserves.” In 1980, the oil reserves in the United States were estimated at 30 billion barrels. Yet in the intervening 32 years, this country actually produced 77 billion barrels of oil. In other words, we produced more than 2.5 times more oil than the leading experts said there was 32 years earlier.

Today, the numbers are even more staggering. The amount of “technically recoverable” oil in the United States is estimated at 1.4 trillion barrels. (Please note that is “trillion,” with a “T.”) Unfortunately for us, most of that oil is located in areas Obama says we can’t search for it: in portions of Alaska and in waters off our shores.

Combined with known resources in Canada and Mexico, total recoverable oil in North America exceeds 1.7 trillion barrels. How much is that? Let me put it in perspective: It is more than all the oil the world has used since the first oil well was drilled in Titusville, Penn., 150 years ago.

So far, all I’ve discussed is oil. When natural gas and coal are added to the total, the numbers are clear: We have enough energy reserves in the United States to fuel all of our needs for 100 years, even if we never made another discovery.

Back to North Dakota for a moment. The effect of the bonanza there has been extraordinary. Stephen Moore, my favorite Wall Street Journal writer, says that what is happening in Williston, N.D., “is what the Gold Rush might have looked like had it happened in the time of McDonald’s, Wal-Mart and Home Depot.”

The State has the lowest unemployment rate in the Nation, at just 3.3 percent. California’s, by contrast, is 11.1 percent. That doesn’t even count the unemployed people who have simply stopped looking for work. The true unemployment number is probably closer to 20 percent.

According to the Census Bureau, North Dakota led the Nation in job and income growth in 2011. While California is losing millionaires every day, North Dakota is creating them faster than anyplace else in the country. But even entry-level positions are benefiting. For example, a job flipping burgers at McDonald’s pays $18 an hour plus a “signing bonus” for new employees.

And while the State of California can’t begin to pay all of its bills — it even issued IOUs last year in place of tax refunds — the biggest argument in North Dakota’s State Capitol is how to spend all of the money that’s pouring in. Legislators in Bismarck have approved hundreds of “shovel ready” infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, railroads and pipelines. But even while spending more on worthwhile projects, legislators also agreed to cut the State income tax.

What’s happening in North Dakota is a classic example of the one thing that would solve our energy problems everywhere — and most other problems in the economy, too. Unfortunately, it’s the one thing Obama and his team won’t even consider.

The solution is simple: Let the market work.

In his State of the Union address in January, Obama declared that “This country needs an all-out, all-of-the-above strategy that develops every available source of American energy.”

Like so much that comes out of our President’s mouth, the sentence was as misleading as his skilled staff of speechwriters could make it. What he meant was that his Administration would continue pouring billions of dollars into every wasteful alternative energy pipe dream they could think up, while continuing to slap higher taxes and more regulatory handcuffs on the businesses that can actually solve our energy needs and make money (and pay taxes) doing it.

Rather than foster energy independence, Obama wants to make us all dependent. Dependent on government, that is.

Want to reduce unemployment? Increase tax revenues? Get the economy humming again? Truly foster energy independence?

The answer to all of them is the same: Get government off our backs. Let the market work. The results will be amazing. Maybe next year we’ll have a government that’s willing to give it a try.

Young Adults Understand MORE Than Their Partisan Parents

Turn off the News, put down the NYTs, open your eyes, look around.

Hey folks,

This coming November, most will go to the Polls and Vote Republican, because they associate themselves as Republicans. They will Vote Democrat, because they are Democrats. If their Mom and Dad were, then they are too. The sad truth is, they will Vote the way they always have, Whomever has a D or and R after their Name on the Ballot, that is who they will Vote for, even if they never heard the Name before.

They will Vote for this or that Policy Issue, based on what Mommy, Daddy, or what the NEWS says about it. Is it a Republican Bill or a Democrat Bill? Even if they never heard of an Initiative, they will see, "This was by Sen, or Rep, soandso- R or -D." They will hear how this initiative will Ban this or that, or allow this or that, even if it doesn't, and they will Vote how they are told to.

Some will go to the Polls believing whatever they just saw on the News or read in the paper. "The Economy is coming back. Jobs are improving. Housing is stabilizing. All is well." Even though, their Neighbor has not worked in Two Years. Even though they are under water with their Mortgage. Even though they have less money and are paying MORE at the Pump. They will Vote for Obama, because that is what they are told to do.

But then you have the people that actually DO understand what is going on. They HAVE looked around and saw Reality. They are going to go to the Polls and Vote a certain way, because they are LIVING Reality. The latest Polls tells us that the Majority of Americans are NOT happy with this Reality.

Now I understand what I'm about to talk about is Local. It's Missouri. But the numbers are AMAZING and not far off from the National Polls. It is a glimmer of Hope. It is the Reality that we ALL face. It is a sign the Young Adults may very well understand MORE than their Partisan Parents.

Here we go. There is this Group in Missouri called Generation Opportunity. They meet with, and listen to, young Business Leaders and Small Business Owners, and discuss current Issues. They have Ranked Gas Prices, Poor Economy, and Unemployment as top Issues. Look at these numbers.

•Just 31% of 18 – 29 year-olds approve of President Obama's handling of youth unemployment.
•69% say the current leadership in Washington fails to reflect the interests of the younger generation.
•69% prefer reducing federal spending over raising taxes on individuals in order to balance the federal budget.
•59% of overall Millennials agree the economy grows best when individuals are allowed to create businesses without government interference.
•70% would increase production of domestic energy sources like oil, natural gas, and coal.

Delayed Dreams from a Poor Economy and the Lack of Opportunity:

•77% of young people ages 18-29 either have or will delay a major life change or purchase due to economic factors: •44% delay buying a home;
•28% delay saving for retirement;
•27% delay paying off student loans or other debt;
•27% delay going back to school/getting more education or training;
•26% delay changing jobs/cities;
•23% delay starting a family;
•18% delay getting married.

This is the Future of our Country folks. Young people, of whom Obama had in his Pocket in 08, now are saying, uh, not this time. Not because they are Racist. Not because they are Stupid. Because they are LIVING Reality. These are people 18-29 years old, that say ENOUGH is ENOUGH. They are not buying the News. They are LIVING through Obama and his Policies. They are not liking it.

Look folks, this IS Reality. Turn off the News, put down the NYTs, open your eyes, look around. Tell me what you see. LIVE Reality. Do not deny it because someone tells you it's not what it IS. I was just talking to someone yesterday who said she is Voting for Obama in November. I said WHY? She said, I'm a Democrat. I asked what about the Economy, Housing, Unemployment? her answer? She has a Job. Even though she is under water on her house, she is still making Payment on time, so no worries there. She believes what she sees on the Local News. We are coming back. Obama just needs more time to fix what Bush messed up. {Sigh}Here is someone that couldn't care less about Politics. She will go and Vote Obama because she is a Democrat. Truth is, it's NOT all good. Truth is, we can NOT afford another Four Years of this. Liberal Policies have put us where we are now. Liberal Policies will NOT get us out of it. They will DESTROY our already hurting Economy.

Those of you who have heard of 4G, raise your hands. Good. Look at that. Chances are, you would LOVE to use a 4G Network for FAR cheaper than you are now. Well, there is a Company out there with new Technology and the ability to make that happen. Their name? LightSquared.

There is a little bit of a bug though. Turns out it interferes with GPS. Yes, that little box on your dash, or on your Phone, but also Ships, the Military, Air force, Comical Air Flights, ETC. It actually FRIES their systems.

Now the biggest investor in this is Philip Falcone who invested $3 BILLION Dollars into this. He is also a BIG Obama Supporter, and a Contributor to the Democrat Party in General. So along with Pushing Through the $500 Million to Solyndra, Obama was pushing for this to be authorized for widespread use. So Congress is Investigating.

In walks Four Star Air Force General William Shelton, who oversees Air Force Space Command, and says the White House tried to pressure him to change his Testimony to make it more favorable to LightSquared. Would this NOT be tampering with a Witness. Is this NOT a Crime?

What they are attempting to bring to Market is a NEW and CHEAPER 4G Network. Turns out, it interferes with GPS. So of course, in no Sane World, would they be approved of this. Witnesses, Like a Four Star Air Force General William Shelton, who oversees Air Force Space Command, would Testify of the FACTS that this is DANGEROUS, and a potential THREAT to National Security, and Life itself. He would be listening to. LightSuared would be denied, and YES, Investors, no matter who they are, would lose out. Lightsuared would have to go back to the Drawing Board. Either FIX it so that it doesn't interfere with GPS, or complete fold and go away.

HOWEVER, as I pointed out to you, Philip Falcone, BIG TIME Obama supporter, Contributor to the Democrat Party, is the Investor with the most to loose. SO? Obama called Four Star Air Force General William Shelton, and told him to CHANGE his Testimony.

LightSquared CEO Sanjiv Ahuja abruptly announced his resignation Tuesday amid revelations of his company’s political proximity — and his own closeness — to the White House and Obama administration officials.

The Daily Caller first reported one week ago on emails and documents that indicate political ties and numerous meetings between LightSquared and Obama administration officials as the company was undergoing regulatory review.

This is not new to you if you are a true OPNer. {Smile}

Ahuja’s resignation comes after Obama’s FCC suspended conditional approval of a waiver LightSquared needed to complete its high-speed broadband network. Until two weeks ago, the company’s final approval appeared imminent.

Ahuja, who had never donated to Democrats before and has not since, gave the maximum allowable $30,400 contribution to the Democratic National Committee on the same day his lawyers were trying to arrange a meeting for him at the White House with top Obama technology adviser Aneesh Chopra and other officials.

In emails between Ahuja’s lawyers and White House officials Ahuja wanted to meet with, his lawyers pointed out that he would attend an Obama fundraiser on or about the same day he wanted the meeting.

In a statement accompanying the company’s announcement of Ahuja’s resignation, he made no mention of those revelations.

“During my tenure at LightSquared, we all worked tirelessly to create the nation’s first open wireless broadband network and provide consumers with a new wireless broadband experience,” Ahuja said. “That work continues and I wish the company and its fine management team well as they work to achieve this important goal.”

LightSquared spokesman Terry Neal did not immediately respond to TheDC’s request for comment on the possible connections between Ahuja’s resignation and revelations published exclusively by TheDC.

According to the release, Ahuja will remain LightSquared’s chairman.

So wait, He resigns yet he is still the Chairman? But then you have THIS.

Philip Falcone, the CEO of Harbinger Capital Partners — which created LightSquared from its predecessor, SkyTerra — was appointed to the LightSquared board on Tuesday as well. The Obama administration FCC approved Harbinger’s purchase of SkyTerra after what appeared to be a series of favorable regulatory decisions amid White House visits.

In the press release, Falcone said he remains confident in LightSquared’s future despite these new revelations and the company’s reported challenges related to GPS interference issues.

Are you kidding me? Do not be fooled by this. The whole reason behind protecting them is NOW them. This next part is an even bigger Joke.

“LightSquared’s objective, through its wholesale business model, is to provide increased competition and lower prices in the telecommunications industry, and to bring broadband cellular phone service to rural areas that currently don’t have such service and that has not and will not change,” Falcone said. “We are, furthermore, committed to working with the appropriate entities to find a solution to the recent regulatory issues. We, of course, agree that it is critical to ensure that national security, aviation and the GPS communities are protected.”

And of course protecting my 3 BILLION dollar investment and keeping money flowing into Obama. Typical Liberal Bunk. Get caught doing something, "apologize" or pass the blame, pretend to "fix" the problem by changing around the Deck Chairs, and continuing on with business as usual. But you already knew that.

OK, I have to issue an apology. Wait, did you catch this? Yup. Another "Green Energy Company," propped up by YOUR money, lays off 150 people, is failing, yet? That's right, they are paying themselves, the Executives, BIG bonuses and pay raises. A taxpayer-funded electric vehicle battery company, that is considered in great danger due to its dependency on troubled EV company Fisker Automotive, has awarded its top executives big salary increases despite a steep downward trajectory in its stock price.

Massachusetts-based A123 Systems -- which received $279.1 million in stimulus money from the Department of Energy, and up to $135 million in incentives from the State of Michigan -- boosted the base salaries of two vice presidents and its chief financial officer on February 8.

Chief Financial Officer David Prystash was bumped 27 percent to $380,000; VP of Energy Solutions Robert Johnson’s base salary increased 51 percent from his 2010 level to $400,000; and VP of Automotive Systems Jason Forcier saw his pay rise 32 percent from 2010, to $350,000. The news was first reported by the Boston Web site of Citybizlist.com, which obtained the information from an A123 SEC filing.

Now this report says 125 employees, but I saw another that said 150. Regardless, they took YOUR money and they are paying themselves HUGE salaries, and the company is failing. They are laying people off. When the money, YOUR money, is gone, they will go the way of Wind and Solar Companies. Bankrupt.

So lets have a conversation with the President. "Mr. Obama. Wind, Solar, now Battery Companies, that YOU gave Hundreds of Billions of Tax Payer Money to, are failing all over the place. There is NO MARKET. They are producing NOTHING. Can we pretty please, Drill, get more Natural Gas, allow the Pipeline? Can we now do what we should have been doing all along?"

{Sigh} More OIL means greater NATIONAL Security. It means lower costs. It means more jobs. It means a stronger Economy. Just saying YES to the Keystone Pipeline means greater NATIONAL Security. It means lower costs. It means more jobs. It means a stronger Economy. Talking about Pond Scum? Means NOTHING. It will simply continue the DECREASE of National Security, HIGHER Costs, LESS Jobs, and damaging the Economy even further.

Even some of his supporters are out there saying, what the? This is completely ridiculous. It really is. Do NOTHING to actually FIX the Problem that Liberal Policies over the Years have CREATED, just issue Speeches and ask people to Dream. $5.00 to even $6.00 a gallon gas is coming folks. But fret not, while you are paying that, just think how wonderful it will be when we learn how to turn Pond Scum into Energy,,,,,OH WAIT!!!! I forgot about my apology. No I have to apologize.

Hey folks,

Have you seen the Projected Forecasts? It's coming. The Politics, the phony Outrage, the SHOW. Do you remember a few years back when gas hit $4.00 a gallon? We learned that this was pretty much the tipping point. EVERYTHING went up. Food, Merchandise, the cost to Power your Home. The Cost to HEAT and COOL your Home. EVERYTHING went up.

We learned during this time that THIS is pretty much the Price where people change their Lifestyles. Where people start traveling LESS. Buying LESS. Working harder at saving, just to pay their Home Bills.

Who was the hardest hit? Those on fixed Incomes. The Poor and the Elderly. Single Moms had to get second Jobs, just to pay for the Gas to go to their main Jobs. Pay more for Childcare. EVERYONE had to pay more for EVERYTHING.

Then came the Show. Liberals in Congress showed their Phony Outrage. They blamed "Big Oil" and said they were going to steel their Profits and give the money to you. They held Phony Hearings and attempting to get you all upset with those supplying the Energy.

Then something happened. An American President stood up and said enough is enough. We will open up new areas here in this Country. We will Drill more HERE. We will start using our own. So what happened? OVER NIGHT, literally, it's a fact, look it up, over night the price of a Barrel of Oil Plummeted. Fell like a rock. The Prices at the pumps started to fall precipitously.

Why? Because everyone knew, without a doubt, this American President was serious. We WERE going to do it. Then comes along another American President. This one says, NO. We will not Drill at all. The Rigs left. The Energy Companies took their Ball and went elsewhere. Then he says OK, you can continue but only if you jump through the hoops I tell you to. Putting into place a de-facto Moratorium. Then he started an outright ASSAULT on anything Energy. He SAID he will bankrupt the Coal Industry. He will NOT allow Drilling. He SAID he LIKES high Gas Prices. He just said NO to the Keystone Pipeline that would provide us with 92 Percent of all our Liquid Fuel Needs. What happened? You got it. The Prices starting on their way back up. They are going to KEEP going.

Why? Because just like the first President, people KNOW he is serious, and they know he will not reverse course no matter how much REAL Outrage is out there. They KNOW he doesn't care. So? Have you seen the Projections? $4.60 a gallon by May. THIS YEAR!

It's coming folks. Get ready. The Politics, the phony Outrage, the SHOW. Obama and the Liberals in Congress will be calling for investigations. They will be blaming "Big Oil." They will be telling you how "Big Oil" doesn't care about you. They will call for more "Regulations" and such. Oh it's coming. But remember who is REALLY to blame here. It's NOT the Energy Companies. It IS totally Obama and Crew. TOTALLY.

Who will be hardest hit? Will Obama? Nope. He's a Millionaire. Will Mikey Moore? Nope, he's a Millionaire. However, who knows, maybe he'll make another Movie calling Oil Companies evil and make even MORE money. Will Congress? Nope, Most in Congress are Millionaires. Will people like Rush? Nope. HE is a Millionaire. No folks, make no mistake about this either, those hardest hit over $4.60 a Gallon, will be those on Fixed Incomes. Those Living Paycheck to Paycheck. But it WILL effect ALL of us together.

And what are you going to do about it? NOTHING! What are you going to switch to? NOTHING. There is NOTHING to switch too. You are going to Pay it. You do not have a choice. It is, and has been, the Environmentalists that have brought us the Environment where this is possible. No new Refineries, Nuke Plants, for like 40 plus years. No new Drilling where we KNOW the Oil is. No Keystone Pipeline. No NOTHING. Just continue to rely on foreign Governments that hate us, to meet our very basic, and fundamental needs.

All I can say to you, get ready for the Show. Get ready for the Elections. Get ready to Vote for REAL Hope and REAL Change. Imagine another 4 years of all this? Imagine another 4 years with NO recourse? He will not be worried about being re-elected. Look around. Do you WANT another 4 years of THIS?

He was talking about your responsibility to your fellow man, your responsibility to God to provide for the least among us and not your responsibility to fund Caesar. That is a complete misinterpretation of the bible."

Now this was Rick Santorum in response to Obama's Idiotic Speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, where he attempted to use the Gospel of Luke to say that the Rich need to be Taxed more and Jesus would approve.

Obama actually said,

“Unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required,”

His point is that you stupid people out there, you know, you Bitter Clingers, should interpret that to mean that Jesus would have wanted the Rich to pay Higher Taxes. They don't because they are Evil. That is what he wants the "Religious Freaks" the Poor Folks, to believe. The Rich are Evil, Obama has God on his side, and he is out to set you free.

However, what Santorum said is the TRUTH. Again?

Why is it so important to put a fiscal Conservative in the White House? One of the main reasons is simple. Debt. Look around you folks. Obama and Liberal Policies by Congress have spent more money in just over a Thousand Days than this entire Country has spent from it's founding. That would be well over 200 years for those who need a little extra help in understanding. What do we have for all that spending?

Record high Unemployment, Foreclosures, Credit fails, Bankruptcies, and higher costs for all things. Along with all this, we have record high and near uncontrollable Debt. So what is the answer? Focus on the problem. It is not a Revenue Problem. It is a Spending Problem.

Lets look at California shall we? According to Capital Alert - Controller: State to run out of cash in March without action

California will run out of cash by early March if the state does not take swift action to find $3.3 billion through payment delays and borrowing, according to a letter state Controller John Chiang sent to state lawmakers today.

The announcement is surprising since lawmakers previously believed the state had enough cash to last through the fiscal year that ends in June.

But Chiang said additional cash management solutions are needed because state tax revenues are $2.6 billion less than what Gov. Jerry Brown and state lawmakers assumed in their optimistic budget last year. Meanwhile, Chiang said, the state is spending $2.6 billion more than state leaders planned on.

OK stop right there. Read that again. "But Chiang said additional cash management solutions are needed because state tax revenues are $2.6 billion less than what Gov. Jerry Brown and state lawmakers assumed in their optimistic budget last year." What does that mean?

I own Company ABC. Last year my Company made a $40 Million Dollar Profit. About $10 Million a Quarter. Along comes a Government Lib. They say, "That's too much money for you to make. That's not fair. We have people in this State that sit home and watch Opr,,,uh,,whatever is on TV during the day now, and we the State, need to take care of them. So we are going to take every penny you make over $5 Million a Quarter. That's only fair. Look at all the good you will be doing. We need your money to fund our Social Programs and keep our Party getting Votes to stay in power."

Well? I decide, enough is enough. So I start creating ways, most Legal, some maybe not, to make sure that my Company now only shows a, say, $6 Million Dollar Profit A Quarter. Or a Yearly Profit of $24 Million. Now even with all those new Rules and Taxes you came up with, you are only going to get $4 Million from me instead of the $20 Million you THOUGHT you were going to get.

Now you go on National Television, or in the Press, and say. "We have a Shortage of $16 Million." You see, you really don't. You never had it to begin with. Yet you went out and SPENT it already. That is NOT a Revenue Problem. It is a SPENDING Problem. You spent what you never had to begin with. Meanwhile, you know what you were getting back when I and my Company were making $40? Yup. About $8 to $10 Million a year. Now you make $4 Million.

Then again, if Taxes and oppressive Regulation continue, I will have to cut Jobs. The number one cost in any Company. I will have to Lay off People. They will no longer have a Job, meaning they will no longer be able to make their Mortgage, Car Payments, inject NEW money into the Economy, and will most likely end up on the Government Dole costing YOU even more money that you do not have. If you continue to attack me and make it unaffordable to do business here? I will go elsewhere, where I can make the Profit, pay less wages, and not worry about YOU at all. Now you will not even have the $4 Million. AND, you will have even more people on the Dole.

But spending it BEFORE you get it is just flat out Stupidity. Would you do this in your owe Private life? You assume you are getting, well, lets say a Bonus from Work. Every year you get say $1000.00 Bucks. So the time is coming, and you assume you will get it again this year. You make all these plans in anticipation of this. Do you go out and spend it BEOFRE you get it? What if the Company can't or won't do it this year? Is it THEIR fault if you go out and spend it? Or is it yours?

As I have said before, look at Liberal run States vs Conservative run States for the truth. Look at California, New York, Illinois. Then Look at Wisconsin, Alaska, ETC. Look at the major change in New Jersey. Liberalism FAILS every time it is tried. We have tried it for the past 5 to 6 years. Time for real Hope for a REAL Change. Again, this is not Party politics, or an Anti-Obama rant. Look around you. Can we AFFORD another 4 more years of THIS?

They will NEVER Shut Down Talk Radio as long as Rush Limbaugh is on the Air. WAY too big and powerful. They have tried, but they will NEVER Win against him. So they went after another problem as they see it. The Internet. I told you WHY they Hate the Internet. First they give Obama Power to take it over by simply declaring a National Emergency. Then they come up with THIS. "Anti Online Piracy Legislation."

We all know what this is all about. We were not having any of this. Once again, they were Stupid enough to THINK we are that Stupid. Once again, they THOUGHT they were the smartest people in the Room when in all honesty, they were the dumbest.

WASHINGTON – Congressional leaders announced Friday that they are putting controversial anti-online piracy legislation on the backburner, amid widespread objections from the tech community and others.

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid said he will postpone an upcoming vote on his chamber's proposal. Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, quickly followed suit, saying consideration of a similar House bill would be postponed "until there is wider agreement on a solution."

Translation, NO ONE, except far Left Liberal Loons, were going to Vote FOR this. Most Democrats along with most Republicans want nothing to do with this.

Earlier in the week, major websites and Internet companies protested the proposal. Wikipedia blacked out its site for a day, while Google circulated a petition that generated more than seven million signatures. The White House also raised concerns about the proposal over the weekend, though later claimed the president was not taking sides.

Reid said in a statement that "in light of recent events," he would postpone a test vote that had been set for Tuesday. He said he's "optimistic" lawmakers can reach a compromise in the coming weeks.

"There is no reason that the legitimate issues raised by many about this bill cannot be resolved," he said. "Counterfeiting and piracy cost the American economy billions of dollars and thousands of jobs each year, with the movie industry alone supporting over 2.2 million jobs. We must take action to stop these illegal practices. We live in a country where people rightfully expect to be fairly compensated for a day's work, whether that person is a miner in the high desert of Nevada, an independent band in New York City, or a union worker on the back lots of a California movie studio."

Reid, it really is simple to understand. GET THE HELL OUT of our Private Lives and DO your Job. SERVE the People. Not rule over them. That was pretty impressive folks. SEVEN MILLION Signatures? Your Calls, Emails, and Letters? You WON!

Once again, I want you to think of this. Be it Private Business, like Bank of America, Verizon, or even the Government, the Power IS the People. WE are the Boss. It's TIME we realize it and start acting LIKE it. The Government is no different than at anytime in the Past. They are still a “Government of the People, by the People, for the People.” They may THINK they are Royalty, or that THEY Rule over us. But they don't. They WORK for us. And it IS, just that simple.

What do you call a person that rejects HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of Dollars in NEW Revenue in an Economy where we have seen our debt rise to uncontrollable levels? What do you call a person that CAUSES hundreds of Thousands of Job Losses in a country with RECORD High Unemployment? With Tens Of Thousand of NEW unemployed, meaning no paycheck, meaning they can no longer pay Mortgages, meaning MORE Home Foreclosures. What do you call a person that INCREASES Energy Cost for EVERY Man, Woman, and Child in this Country? As we already know, increase Energy Costs MEAN Increased EVERYTHING Costs.

More importantly, what do you call a person that does ALL these things, ON PURPOSE!?!?!? Intentionally. With a PLAN. Somehow ignorant, and or Stupid, just doesn't cover it. We have such a person in this Country that HAS done all these things. His name is Barack Obama. President Barack Obama.

No this is not some Political Tirade. No, I'm not saying all this because I want to see "my guy" get the Nomination and win the Election. I do not even have a "guy" yet. No I'm not saying all this to be provocative. I'm telling you the TRUTH. He HAS done this. He IS doing this.

Obama's Lackey, Deputy Secretary of State William Burns, made the statement yesterday that Obama says NO to the Keystone Pipeline. Then he said that Obama BLAMES Republicans. Claiming that it was because Republicans wanted Obama to make the decision in 60 days. Not enough time for Obama's Loon Base to create FALSE and Misleading Arguments that it will be a danger to the Environment. {Sigh}

Folks, this is complete and unadulterated BS. Remember what Obama said about the Wind Farms, that were and ARE, SLAUGHTERING ENDANGERED Species of Birds? He said he wants all the normal Environmental Studies rolled into one and he wanted an "Acceptable number" of Birds that could be killed. Remember that? Forget the fact we have THOUSANDS of Miles of Pipelines already in this country, with ZERO problems. FORGET the Environmental impact of all those Boats, Planes, and Trucks that have to transport all that FOREIGN Oil all over the Country, and the Environmental BENEFIT of reducing that number. NONE of that matters. It's PURELY Politics for Obama.

There is NO Logical reason, WHATSOEVER, to REJECT Hundreds of Thousand of Jobs, Hundreds of BILLIONS of Dollars in NEW and SUSTABLE Revenue, and INCREASE Our National Security by getting 92 percent of ALL of our Liquid Fuel needs for RIGHT HERE and our Friends in the North. NONE. No not one. We already talked about how easy, so to speak, it would be for someone like Iran, or ANYONE, to cut off the Supply of Oil. Ask Georgia how it was when Russia did that to them. It would be EASY for some Foreign Government, that do not like us to begin with, to turn around one day and say, "You know what, we what you to change your ways. We want you to do XYZ. Until you do? No Oil for you!!!" They would not be able to do this if 92 Percent of our Energy Needs were being met HERE. Sorry. But FACTS are the FACTS.

But we have a President, in title only, that is doing EXACTLY that. He is doing ALL this on PURPOSE. With one word, he could UNDO it. He chooses NOT to. Time WE chose a New President. Time we Chose NEW Leaders in Congress. Time to REJECT Stupid, and bring in Smart. Time we start getting SERIOUS. Because what Obama and Crew ARE doing, IS Serious. Seriously DANGEROUS to America. Dangerous to EVERY Man, Woman, and Child IN IT. Dangerous to our Future. Time for REAL Hope and REAL Change. We may not survive another 4 years.

I wanted to elaborate a bit more on what we were talking about yesterday. I posted this.. OPNTalk - Obama Gestapo Now A Legal Reality I pondered why there is no outrage over this. I said this,,,,

Before you start making excuses such as "It was Congress not Obama that put that in there" or "He didn't know." or "He was Tricked" Or whatever, HE DEMANDED that the language EXCLUDING American Citizens BE EXCLUDED. In other words, he DEMANDED that this new Power INCLUDE American Citizens. So now, just like China, Cuba, Venezuela, or the Good Old USSR. If the Government deems you a threat, they will come and get you, throw you in Prison for LIFE without having to answer to ANYONE. If you disagree with this President, you could be arrested and charged with NOTHING. No Lawyer No defense. Just thrown in Prison. The Obama Gestapo is NOW a LEGAL Reality. George W. never even came close to what Obama just did. Where IS the outrage? Where is the Media? Where are the Liberals? Where are the Protests in the Streets?Because it's Obama it's OK? Seriously? NOTHING?

Many people that I have been talking to never heard of this either. That's because there is NO News on this. No Mainstream Media is reporting this. So if people do not see this in the NYTs, or on their 5 pm News, they have no clue what is going on. However, even when told, some still do not see this as a problem. So lets try it this way.

Remember what happened when Bush opened the door FOR Obama and this Past Congress? He did. It was Bush who gave out the first nearly Trillion Dollars in "Stimulus." You know, Bank Bailouts. He increased the National Debt by a Trillion. Still doable, however, HE opened the door. Obama and Congress THEN Spent MORE than the ENTIRE Country has Spent, since it's FOUNDING all together, in 1000 days. Bush did not do that. But he opened the door. Once the door is open, anyone can enter through it.

So Obama signs into Law, the Authority to send the Military to YOUR House and throw you in Prison for ANY REASON whatsoever. All they have to do is deem you an Enemy of the State. A Threat to America. A Terrorist or deem you engaged in Terristic Activities.

Now lets say Obama is Thrown out of Office on his ear at the end of this year. A New President enters. A New Congress reconvenes. Now lets say they are all lead by an EXTREME Religious Conviction. President Bachmann {Who quit yesterday by the way, just as an example} decides that we need to get serious about the Moral Decline in this Country. She decides that Liberalism is not just a Dangerous Belief that HAS indeed caused the Mess we are in, but that ANY Liberal out there, is now a THREAT to this Utopia that she wants to Create.

So the President comes out and says that there is only ONE God, ONE Religion. That ALL in this Country WILL worship at the Foot of the Cross and WILL accept Christianity. If you do not, then YOU are a Terrorist. YOU are now an Enemy of the State. You are attempting to disrupt the Country and you are now engaged, by speaking out, in Terroristic Activities. So she goes to the Leader of the Senate, Pat Robinson, and tells him that she has decided to get Serious about this. He calls the Speaker of the House, John Hagee, and they all agree. Obama signed into Law the Authorization to use the Military, even AGAINST US Citizens, to detain them for any reason whatsoever, SO? There is a knock on your door.

I know this sounds like a Novel or a TV show. Or perhaps I am talking about Iran and the Islamofascists. Convert or DIE. Speak out in Cuba. Speak out in China. Be a speaker of mind in Venezuela. This is the type of thing that is done in Third World Countries. Not here. Not in the Land of the Free. We have this little Piece of Paper that is called THE CONSTITUTION that LIMITS the Powers of Government. It gives us FREEDOM. Problem is, we have a Regime in Power that ignores it. Problem also is, we have NO ONE challenging them on it. We have a Media that is Silent. A Populace that is Complacent to remain Ignorant.

So to all my Liberal Friends out there, and to all my Obabaites out there, just remember this little fact. Once the door is open, anyone can enter through it. This MUST be closed. This MUST be reversed. Obama or not, it is WAY TOO MUCH POWER and AUTHORITY for ANY Administration to have. It just IS.

I STILL didn't believe it. But it is TRUE.

Well, THIS President just Signed into Law the Authorization of the Military to come into YOUR House, rip you from your Family, and Detain you indefinitely, charging you with NOTHING. All they have to do is deem you a Threat. Say that you are engaged in any form of Terrorism that they deem dangerous. Are you telling yourself that you are NOT a Terrorist, so you need not worry about this? By signing into law the NDAA, the president has awarded the military extraordinary powers to detain US citizens without trial

President Barack Obama rang in the New Year by signing the NDAA law with its provision allowing him to indefinitely detain citizens. It was a symbolic moment, to say the least. With Americans distracted with drinking and celebrating, Obama signed one of the greatest rollbacks of civil liberties in the history of our country … and citizens partied in unwitting bliss into the New Year.

Ironically, in addition to breaking his promise not to sign the law, Obama broke his promise on signing statements and attached a statement that he really does not want to detain citizens indefinitely (see the text of the statement here).

Obama insisted that he signed the bill simply to keep funding for the troops. It was a continuation of the dishonest treatment of the issue by the White House since the law first came to light. As discussed earlier, the White House told citizens that the president would not sign the NDAA because of the provision. That spin ended after sponsor Senator Carl Levin (Democrat, Michigan) went to the floor and disclosed that it was the White House and insisted that there be no exception for citizens in the indefinite detention provision.

The latest claim is even more insulting. You do not "support our troops" by denying the principles for which they are fighting. They are not fighting to consolidate authoritarian powers in the president. The "American way of life" is defined by our constitution and specifically the bill of rights. Moreover, the insistence that you do not intend to use authoritarian powers does not alter the fact that you just signed an authoritarian measure. It is not the use but the right to use such powers that defines authoritarian systems.

The almost complete failure of the mainstream media to cover this issue is shocking. Many reporters have bought into the spin of the Obama administration as they did the spin over torture by the Bush administration. Even today, reporters refuse to call waterboarding torture despite the long line of cases and experts defining waterboarding as torture for decades.

On the NDAA, reporters continue to mouth the claim that this law only codifies what is already the law. That is not true. The administration has fought any challenges to indefinite detention to prevent a true court review. Moreover, most experts agree that such indefinite detention of citizens violates the constitution.

There are also those who continue the longstanding effort to excuse Obama's horrific record on civil liberties by blaming either others or the times. One successful myth is that there is an exception for citizens. The White House is saying that changes to the law made it unnecessary to veto the legislation. That spin is ridiculous. The changes were the inclusion of some meaningless rhetoric after key amendments protecting citizens were defeated. The provision merely states that nothing in the provisions could be construed to alter Americans' legal rights. Since the Senate clearly views citizens as not just subject to indefinite detention but even to execution without a trial, the change offers nothing but rhetoric to hide the harsh reality.

The Obama administration and Democratic members are in full spin mode – using language designed to obscure the authority given to the military. The exemption for American citizens from the mandatory detention requirement (section 1032) is the screening language for the next section, 1031, which offers no exemption for American citizens from the authorisation to use the military to indefinitely detain people without charge or trial.

Obama could have refused to sign the bill and the Congress would have rushed to fund the troops. Instead, as confirmed by Senator Levin, the White House conducted a misinformation campaign to secure this power while portraying the president as some type of reluctant absolute ruler, or, as Obama maintains, a reluctant president with dictatorial powers.

Most Democratic members joined their Republican colleagues in voting for this un-American measure. Some Montana citizens are moving to force the removal of these members who, they insist, betrayed their oaths of office and their constituents. Most citizens, however, are continuing to treat the matter as a distraction from the holiday cheer.

For civil libertarians, the NDAA is our Mayan moment: 2012 is when the nation embraced authoritarian powers with little more than a pause between rounds of drinks.

Before you start making excuses such as "It was Congress not Obama that put that in there" or "He didn't know." or "He was Tricked" Or whatever, HE DEMANDED that the language EXCLUDING American Citizens BE EXCLUDED. In other words, he DEMANDED that this new Power INCLUDE American Citizens. So now, just like China, Cuba, Venezuela, or the Good Old USSR. If the Government deems you a threat, they will come and get you, throw you in Prison for LIFE without having to answer to ANYONE. If you disagree with this President, you could be arrested and charged with NOTHING. No Lawyer No defense. Just thrown in Prison. The Obama Gestapo is NOW a LEGAL Reality. George W. never even came close to what Obama just did. Where IS the outrage? Where is the Media? Where are the Liberals? Where are the Protests in the Streets?

Because it's Obama it's OK? Seriously? NOTHING? There is NOW no doubt this is the most important Election in HISTORY. In the History of this Country, there has never been a more important one. America itself is at Stake here. Look at all that Obama has done in 4 years. Imagine what he will do in another 4. After that? There may very well never again be an Election. Make no mistake about it. Obama HAS TO BE STOPPED. We need to Vote to keep America, America. Land of the Free, and Home of the Brave. If not? We will lose it FOREVER.

Another Freedom under attack

Hey folks,

First let me say this. Why do I do this? I get asked this from time to time. "Pete, why do you bother wasting so much time on a Blog that no one reads. Seriously. Oh you get some hits, but you don't have a million followers, you don't get paid for it. Why do you waste your time?"

I have been doing the Blog since 2006. I have been all over the Internet since the Early 90s, but the Blog for about the past 6 years. The main reason I do it is because it is my Passion. Infotainment. I want to leave this Country a better place than it was when I grew up. I want a better World for my Sons Joshua and Elijah, and their Children. The only way we can ensure this, is through the Knowledge of Truth. As the only saying goes, those ignorant of History, are doomed to repeat it. Well, those ignorant of Truth, will fall for Lies. If just ONE Person finds the Truth, and decides to follow it, I will leave this Earth a happy person.

People are quick to shoot me an Email, comment here or there, "ENOUGH with the I told you sos. It's really annoying." It's not bragging when it's true. I'm not as braggadocios as someone like Rush Limbaugh, or Sean Hannity, and PLEASE never compare me to someone like Bill O. But the Archives speak for themselves. You hear things here, not days, but YEARS before people start talking about them elsewhere. When I remind you, or take you back to point out what I have been warning you, I do so not in a Bragging way, but to show you that it is not a new trend, or something that just started, but that it is something that has been in the works for some time. That there is an agenda. A move in a certain direction, toward an ultimate goal. In most cases, it is not something that needs to be praised, but STOPPED.

The New Media consists of Bloggers, Websites, and Talk Radio. They are still working on Talk Radio, but now they can and WILL control the Internet. I warned you about this. The State Run MMD are getting tired of being called out for ignoring real news, making up false news, and towing the Democrat Party Lines. They want Bloggers "Controlled."

Well, they haven't given up. They haven gone away. They have been trying really hard to keep in under the Radar. Let's face it, with the State Run, Obama Controlled Media, that's not hard. Over the weekend, First Amendment impresario Floyd Abrams addressed two controversial Internet piracy bills, the Senate’s Protect IP Act (PIPA) and the House version, the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). He argued that the bill, designed to stop Internet theft of intellectual property, has been denounced by critics for setting up “ ‘walled gardens patrolled by government censors.’ Or derided as imparting ‘major features’ of ‘China’s Great Firewall’ to America. And accused of being ‘potentially politically repressive.’ ” He contends, “This is not serious criticism. The proposition that efforts to enforce the Copyright Act on the Internet amount to some sort of censorship, let alone Chinese-level censorship, is not merely fanciful. It trivializes the pain inflicted by actual censorship that occurs in repressive states throughout the world. Chinese dissidents do not yearn for freedom in order to download pirated movies.”

I don’t quarrel with his assertion that it is hysterical to regard enforcement of libel and copyright infringement on the Internet as the beginning of a totalitarian state. But he misses the real point of sober-minded critics: The bill is unnecessarily overboard and a formula for a host of undesirable and unintended consequences.

No. The Critics are RIGHT. Once you crack your door, THEY will come in, and they WILL set up house. Every time we give a little Freedom for ANYTHING, the Government has been shown to take it ALL in time. Let them tell you what temperature to keep your Living Room at, they come in and install "Smart Meters" to CONTROL that Temp. Let them "Suggest" how and what you should Drive. They hook up Monitoring Devices in your Car to TELL them how and what you Drive. Say OK, Tax the Rich. They TAX EVERYONE in time. So on, and so forth.

We HAVE laws. If someone Pirates Music or Movies, we have laws that will take care of this. We do not need a Government Internet Gestapo to monitor ALL Website to see what people are doing and saying.

ABC News reported last month on the overboard nature of the remedies that would be available:

Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Google, said the bills would overdo it — giving copyright holders and government the power to cut off Web sites unreasonably. They could be shut down, and search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo could be stopped from linking to them.

“The solutions are draconian,” Schmidt said Tuesday at the MIT Sloan School of Management. “There’s a bill that would require ISPs [Internet service providers] to remove URLs from the Web, which is also known as censorship last time I checked.”

Harvard law professor and Supreme Court advocate Laurence Tribe (whom I don’t always agree with but who takes the Bill of Rights quite seriously and was instrumental in developing the jurisprudence that confirmed the Second Amendment is an individual right) has submitted a memo detailing the multiple ways in which SOPA runs afoul of the First Amendment. For example, “SOPA provides that a complaining party can file a notice alleging that it is harmed by the activities occurring on the site ‘or portion thereof .’ Conceivably, an entire website containing tens of thousands of pages could be targeted if only a single page were accused of infringement. Such an approach would create severe practical problems for sites with substantial user-generated content, such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, and for blogs that allow users to post videos, photos, and other materials.”And likewise: “The notice-and-termination procedure of Section 103(a) runs afoul of the ‘prior restraint’ doctrine, because it delegates to a private party the power to suppress speech without prior notice and a judicial hearing. This provision of the bill would give complaining parties the power to stop online advertisers and credit card processors from doing business with a website,merely by filing a unilateral notice accusing the site of being ‘dedicated to theft of U.S. property’ — even if no court has actually found any infringement. The immunity provisions in the bill create an overwhelming incentive for advertisers and payment processors to comply with such a request immediately upon receipt.”

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) have introduced a competing bill, the Online Protection and Enforcement of Digital Trade Act (the “Open Act”), which seeks to address legitimate concerns about SOPA/PIPA and focus more specifically on the real problem without knocking down robust, protected speech in an indiscriminate fashion. Google, AOL, eBay, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Mozilla, Yahoo!, and Zynga have signed on to support this alternative to SOPA/PIPA.

The Hill recently reported on OPEN: “The draft proposal would instead authorize the International Trade Commission to investigate and issue cease-and-desist orders against foreign websites that provide pirated content or sell counterfeit goods. The ITC would have to find that the site is ‘primarily’ and ‘willfully’ engaged in copyright infringement to issue the order.” Rather than take down entire websites and potentially interfere with perfectly legitimate and protected speech OPEN, would, after a court order, “compel payment providers and online advertising services to cease providing services to the offending website. The approach comports with current copyright law and hews to the ‘follow the money’ approach favored by Google and other tech companies.”

In short, this is not a fight between protectors of copyrights and Internet anarchists. Rather, there is a legitimate policy dispute about how broad and how disruptive government enforcement powers should be when core First Amendment rights are at issue. No doubt the Motion Picture Association of America, headed by disgraced former Connecticut senator Chris Dodd, has spread plenty of money around Congress to try to give the government the bluntest, heaviest weapon to fight piracy. But that doesn't make it good policy. And it sure doesn't make for constitutional legislation.

So it seems that Jennifer Rubin has bought into the whole, the Government is just trying to help, they are just over reaching a bit, no big deal thing. Just, you know, tweak it a bit so it is OK. Let them in, but tell them how to do it. The Problem Jen, is that once in, they NEVER leave. They NEVER relinquish power, they GROW, and OBTAIN MORE. They take over. If there is anything that we have learned when I comes to this Administration, they do NOT like this Country and it's Freedoms. Obama JUST SAID in his Speech in Osawatomie when talking about Freedom and the Free Market:

"Now, it's a simple theory. And we have to admit, it's one that speaks to our rugged individualism and our healthy skepticism of too much government. That's in America's DNA. And that theory fits well on a bumper sticker. But here's the problem: It doesn't work. It has never worked. It didn't work when it was tried in the decade before the Great Depression. It's not what led to the incredible postwar booms of the 50s and 60s. And it didn't work when we tried it during the last decade. I mean, understand, it's not as if we haven't tried this theory."

Has never worked? He just said right before this...

"The free market is the greatest force for economic progress in human history. It's led to a prosperity and a standard of living unmatched by the rest of the world."

But Obama's problem with it is, HE wants Government to Control who gets and keeps WHAT. That ain't FREE. No Jen. We know he wants to shut down all the Engines that actually RUN the Economy. From Energy to Industry. He wants to Shut Down any opposing Voices, Talk Radio, and yes, the Web. He wants to CONTROL the "Free Market." Pick the Winners and the Losers. He WANTS a Centralized Controlling Government. He WANTS Socialism in all it's Glory. Give him and Inch, he will take a Mile. And it IS just that simple.

OK. So people wonder why people like me, want no part of the Government interfering in our Personal Lives. Just look at ANYTHING that the Government has been in charge of over the years. Then Obama came along, with a Majority Rule in the House and Senate, and did what the Liberal Left have been trying to do for years, Socialized Medicine. Obamacare. His one "great achievements."
