Finally The Republicans Stepping Up On Energy

It's beyond about time

Hey folks,

I just posted last night the entire speech delivered by President Bush on our energy crises. It REALLY is an energy crisis. FINALLY the President did what he should have done over three years ago. What we, as a country, should have done over twenty.

Of course, because he spoke the truth, the Liberals and the environmental wackos went, well, wacko. I have a whole compilation of Libs and Envionuts yelling and screaming. But I decided not to post them because they all say the same old garbage that is either completely misleading or a complete lie. They were all reading from a script.

But then you have McCain. McCain has completely changed his opinion on drilling. So has Governor Crist here in Florida. Both say the same thing. AFTER looking into the facts, after seeing what our failed policies have done to our energy costs, and after seeing that the TRUTH is that none of the proposals out there will harm the environment one iota, they have come to the conclusion that it just makes common sense. Well, DUH! Welcome to reality.

But then yesterday, you have McCain touting 45 new NUCLEAR Plants. The AP reported it this way.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Sen. John McCain called Wednesday for the construction of 45 new nuclear reactors by 2030 and pledged $2 billion a year in federal funds "to make clean coal a reality," measures designed to reduce dependence on foreign oil.

In a third straight day of campaigning devoted to the energy issue, the Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting also said the only time Democratic rival Barack Obama voted for a tax cut was for a "break for the oil companies."

McCain said the 104 nuclear reactors currently operating around the country produce about 20 percent of the nation's annual electricity needs.

"Every year, these reactors alone spare the atmosphere from the equivalent of nearly all auto emissions in America. Yet for all these benefits, we have not broken ground on a single nuclear plant in over thirty years," he said. "And our manufacturing base to even construct these plants is almost gone."

Thanks to the Envionuts and Liberals running the Congress. But I've said that before. They, and the Chicken Little GWBS crowd SHOULD be all for it. It will save the planet. But every time some think of Nuclear power, they have been trained to think of "what if" and Chernobyl. They have been trained to think of babies being born with two heads, ETC. That is just completely false.

But they have stood in the way for FAR to long. Now we have what we have. People are starting to get it. EVERY time they go to the pump, they are reminded of it. They get mad.

Newt Gingrich's Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less is exploding. Nearly one million signatures and counting. A New Rasmussen Reports poll shows that 67% Support Offshore Drilling, 64% Expect it Will Lower Prices

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey--conducted before McCain announced his intentions on the issue--finds that 67% of voters believe that drilling should be allowed off the coasts of California, Florida and other states. Only 18% disagree and 15% are undecided. Conservative and moderate voters strongly support this approach, while liberals are more evenly divided (46% of liberals favor drilling, 37% oppose).

Sixty-four percent (64%) of voters believe it is at least somewhat likely that gas prices will go down if offshore oil drilling is allowed, although 27% don't believe it. Seventy-eight percent (78%) of conservatives say offshore drilling is at least somewhat likely to drive prices down. That view is shared by 57% of moderates and 50% of liberal voters.

Nearly all voters are worried about rising gas and energy prices, with 79% very concerned and 16% somewhat concerned.

46 percent of LIBERALS are even in favor of it. THAT is the number that has all the Envionuts worried. They can no longer even fool the SHEEPLE. The more people find out that what they are paying for fuel and the fact that we are SO dependant on those that hate us, is not NESSASSARY, the angrier they get.

FINALLY, the Republicans have stopped trying to make nice with the nut jobs out there, and FINNALY they are taking a stand. If they do not cave on this, America WILL get behind them on this. America WILL come together. THAT is what the LWL are afraid of. You make enough noise, especially during this election year, and they will HAVE to listen to you. If they like it or not.
Peter
