These People Are Nuts

Hey folks,

Good Monday morning to you. As usual, I get my coffee, "Chocolate Velvet" this morning, and start scanning news outlets. I came across this, AP article, this morning. I would usually pass by this type of garbage, and move onto more important and credible articles, things that actually matter, but, these people are just plain nuts.

"Kevin Barrett believes the U.S. government might have destroyed the World Trade Center. Steven Jones is researching what he calls evidence that the twin towers were brought down by explosives detonated inside them, not by hijacked airliners."

Yeah, forget the home movies, and thousands of witnesses. Forget the terrorists that went out of their way to brag about it being THEY. Let’s forget reality for a bit. Shall we?
Scholars for 9/11 Truth co-founder James Fetzer, a retired philosophy professor at the University of Minnesota Duluth, claims that some of the hijackers are still alive. He said,

"Things are happening. We're going to continue to do this. Our role is to establish what really happened on 9/11."

You know what? I was just in the process of writing this article and was in the process of reading it again and again, trying to decide what to point out to you as to the looniness of these people. But basically, just read the whole thing yourself. Anyone with a right mind will see this as simply a "Hate Bush" and LWL driven agenda.

We already KNOW what happened on 9-11 Mr. Fetzer. No, there were no space men. No, the President did not order the murder of three thousand American lives. No, the Jews did not do it. No, there were no missiles and planes really did hit the building. As I mentioned before, just watch the "private home movies" or talk to the thousands of eye witnesses, I included in that group. Ask al-Qaeda. They will be more than happy to tell you they did it.

According to the article,

"Members of the conspiracy community "practically worship the ground (Jones) walks on because he's seen as a scientist who is preaching to their side," said FR Greening, a Canadian chemist who has written several papers rebutting the science used by Sept. 11 conspiracy theorists. "It's science, but it's politically motivated. It's science with an ax to grind, and therefore it's not really science.""

Now we just discussed this the other day when we were talking "Global Warming." Science is great. I love science. Science was one of my favorite subjects in school. However, science is not an absolute. It is a tool that can be misused and manipulated to fit agendas.

Why is it so hard to believe that there really are people out there that hate us? That want us dead? That they would actually try to carry out something like 9-11? Or is it the whackos that are trying to pass these conspiracies off on the American public, and those that truly believe them, do so out of their complete, unadulterated, and blind hatred for this President. I do not know for sure their reasons, but I do know, these people are nuts.

At least some of these "Scholars for 9/11 Truth" genuinely are nuts.

If they are so poor at assessing the credibility of who they allow to join their group, how can they be trusted to assess the evidence?

Hey Jim,

Welcome to the OPN. Thanks for the information. I will be checking it out soon.

You are correct. A group IS only as credible as it's memebers.
