IWA for Sunday, August 6th, 2006

Hey folks,

It’s Sunday, time for the IWA, and the debut of Chief George Rowley here at the OPN.

First, from the AP, did you hear the one about Lorna Dudash? The woman so desperate to meet,

"the cutest cop I've seen in God knows how long"

that she actually called 911 in hopes of getting another look. Are you kidding me? She originally met him when he came to her door to tell her to turn down her music. She was so stricken by him that she called 911?

She said,

"I'm 45 years old and I'd just like to meet him again, but I don't know how to go about doing that without calling 911."

How about calling the local station? How about maybe NOT using the 911 EMERGENCY number for goggling the Policeman? While you are luring this Police Officer back to your house. There could very well be someone very much in NEED of help.

The Judge, Washington County Judge Marco Hernandez told Dudash,

"People who are, oh, say, older than 7 know not to use 911 except when where is an emergency,"

Lorna Dudash was sentenced to serve two years of probation and 100 hours of community service, and pay $693 in fines and fees.
