I want to take a break from Politics today. I want to share this story that truly touched me. If you want to know if there is true evil in the world, check this story out. Click the link. Watch the video. There IS true evil in the world, but there are also true Saints.
This is a story of Dani. A beautiful little girl. This beautiful little girl now has hope in her life. She now has a future thanks to Diane and Bernie Lierow. They should be nominated for Sainthood. But Dani wasn't always in a place with a future.
Danielle's birth mother, Michelle Crockett, was charged with child abuse and faced 20 years in prison. Why? she was KEEPING Dani. I say keeping because she was being treated like an animal. A 6-year-old girl, kept from an kind of social interaction and stimulation all her life. The neighbors did not even know she was in the house until one saw this little girl peeking through a window. DCF discovered little Dani living in a filthy, roach-infested home. She doesn't speak. She grunts. They found her body is covered in roach bites, her hair filled with lice. She's lived her whole life in a room the size of a closet, piled high with the used diapers she'd worn. She weighs 46 pounds. My Son Joshua is going to be 4 this year and he is up to 40 pounds right now.
So I said Dani's birth mother, Michelle Crockett, was charged with child abuse and faced 20 years in prison. FACED. So she is locked up right? Nope. Turns out that she refused to give up custody of her daughter. So prosecutor let her stay out of jail if she could waved her parental rights. I'm not kidding. She was sentenced to two years of house arrest, probation and 100 hours of community service, The St. Petersburg Times reported.
But regardless of the fact that Michelle Crockett, should be locked up for the rest of her life, little Dani is finally in a safe place. Folks, this is an amazing story I had to share with you. You HAVE to watch this video.
