He Talked the Talk, but FAILED to Walk The Walk.
Hey folks,
Happy Friday to ya. Yes, time restrains have been REALLY bad this week. This Sunday, I will do what I do so rarely. I will talk about myself. Seems I offended Peter, a true OPNer that got upset when I called him out on playing the Race Card, which he did, but he took time out to share a bit of his personal story. So this Sunday in the Big Sunday Edition, I will be taking some time out to share a bit of my personal story. I think he will be surprised to learn that we are not that different. As a matter of fact, in one way, we are the same.
I will also be answering Rev Jim's question "What would you do Peter?" {If I were watching my family starve and got the opportunity to come here illegally.} All this coming right up on Sunday.
It's Friday, time to go to the Emails.
"What do you think of this?"
WUSF - Crist's Independent Run Means a Whole New Race By Steve Newborn ST.
PETERSBURG (2010-4-29) - Gov. Crist has made it official: he's running for the U.S. Senate as an Independent. And the move should change the entire dynamic of the race for the Senate.
It may have been the worst-kept secret in politics: Just before dinnertime yesterday, Charlie Crist said he's running for Senate not as a Republican, but as an Independent.
"My decision to run for United States Senate as a candidate without party affiliation in many ways says more about our nation and our state than it does about me," he said. "Unfortunately, our political system is broken."
It also says a lot about Crist's level of confidence in his political abilities. He'll now have to go it alone, trying to raise millions of dollars for the upcoming campaign without the backing of the Republican Party's money and publicity machine.
The move cuts him off from many Republicans who feel he is reneging on his earlier promise to back the eventual GOP nominee. Usually, a rally where a sitting Governor launches a campaign for Senate would bring out scores of politicians. But the only ones who showed were former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco - who's been out of office for seven years - and a little-known candidate for Kathy Castor's Congressional seat.
SOUND: Charlie! Charlie! Charlie!
About 300 people showed up for the announcement, in Straub Park in his hometown of St. Petersburg. Crist told them it's not about the politicians.
"Now I could have chosen to stay in the primary," Crist said. "But frankly for me, it's your decision. It's not one club's decision or another. Or even a club within that club. It is a decision too important. It is a decision for all of Florida to make. So that's why we go straight through to November. We give you the chance to make that decision. It's your decision to make."
By bypassing the Republican primary, Crist can now take more moderate positions on everything from teacher's qualifications to offshore oil drilling.
"They've had enough of political infighting. They're tired of the games and the name-calling and the politics of destruction," Crist said. "And my friends, I know they want progress and not gridlock. They are tired of things not getting done for them, for you. They want someone who's more concerned about standing up for them than standing up for special interests or party."
Both of his rivals for November's election spoke after the announcement on CNN: Here's what Republican Marco Rubio had to say.
"I knew that I was running against two other people, who I think are good people, but I believe are wrong on the issues," Rubio said. "I didn’t realize I’d have to run against them at the same time, but that’s the nature of what’s been an interesting election year."
And Democrat Kendrick Meek said he think Crist's move will actually help his campaign.
"I believe that I’m running against two Republicans," Meek said. "Regardless of what the Governor said today, he is still the Republican governor of Florida. And I guess his night job will be running as an independent, and I think it’s going to confuse a number of voters in the state."
After Crist's speech, John Crawford of St. Petersburg said the move increases the chance Crist will get his vote in November.
"We approve of the teacher's stand and we certainly approve of the offshore drilling ban," Crawford said, "so those are two things we feel strongly about."
And Crawford doesn't think Crist's separation from the GOP will hurt his chances.
"Not Charlie Crist. He's too well-known in Florida, he's too charismatic," he said. "As a governor, he's always got a forum. So he'll be out there, he'll be in front of everybody's space. It'll be hard not to see him."
That's not what Jasper Nazz of St. Petersburg thinks. The registered Republican says he will continue to support Marco Rubio.
"I don't think it's a great idea when you've been with one political party your entire career and then when things start to go bad, all of a sudden you decide that's not the party you want to be in," said Nazz. "It's the Arlen Specter scenario: he's trying to save his own political life."
Without the backing of a party machine, Crist knows he has to reach out to moderate voters who aren't too cozy with ether party.
"Now I know this is uncharted territory. I am aware of that," Crist said. "And I am aware that after this speech ends, I don't have either party helping me. But I need you. I need you, the people, more than ever. And I guarantee you, I'm counting on you. I'm counting on you and I belive in you and you can believe in me and I'll be with you forever. Forever."
Next, Crist is hoping some deep pockets will believe in him. After spending today in Tallahassee, he's off to a fundraiser in Miami, where his wife owns a home.
I think Crist is disappointing. I voted for him because he was good at talking the talk. But NOW? Now we see he would rather put self preservation over all those that voted for him and over all those that contributed to his campaign. Rubio is slaughtering Crist. So Crist pulled a Lieberman, hoping that the same outcome will ensue. Crist has shown himself to be nothing more than a RINO, just like McCain, and he needs to leave.
See you Sunday.
Peter

States Take Control
A Trend is starting to form.
Hey folks,
Happy Hump day to ya. That's right. Look around. What do States do if they feel the Federal Government is going in the wrong Direction or not doing enough? They take care of it themselves. They have the Legal and Constitutional RIGHT to do so. I know, I know, that does not sit well with the Obama Regime. He wants TOTAL power and control. But there still is that little thing called the Constitution and that little thing called the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, says that State DO have the right.
States have been doing this for years. But NOW? Now it is becoming a problem, because more and more are starting to stand up and say to Obama, "No." Prop 8 in California, various other States with similar Laws on Gay Marriage. All those Lawsuits in effect right now over Obamacare. Talks of ignoring ANYTHING to do with Cap and Tax. Of course, Arizona's new Illegal Immigration crack down, and now we have the Oklahoma Senate overriding Abortion Restriction Vetoes. This is sure to become a National Battle as well.
So what is happening? States are getting tired of the Federal Government either FAILING to enforce the FEDERAL Law, or they are getting tire of the Federal Government coming into their States and DICTATING to them what they can and can't do. They are standing up for their RIGHTS. It is a GREAT thing to see.
So of course there is this little thing called Immigration Reform going on in Arizona right now. The Governor says that her State is being overrun and hurt by Illegal Aliens. The Federal Government is failing to enforce the LAW. So, she signs a Bill telling the Police, "Start enforcing the Law." Now we are hearing every thing from "Nazis" to things like this piece from AOL NEWS that compare it to China, fascist Europe and the United States during segregation.
{Laughing} No. Not even the Obama State Run Media can make sense reporting this. "New Arizona Law Makes It Illegal to be in Arizona Illegally." What? If you are Illegal, you are already Illegal. Incredible. But I love this. From AOL NEWS - McCains Have Mixed Feelings About Ariz. Immigration Law
(April 26) -- Comments about Arizona's new immigration law from Sen. John McCain and his daughter Meghan indicate the issue isn't as simple as it might appear from outside the state. They also suggest it must ultimately be addressed from outside -- by the federal government.
You see. The Obama Regime doesn't enforce the Law. The State DOES. Now some want the Feral Government to come in and override. In essence, force the STATE to NOT enforce the Law. {Sigh} But here is what I love. Is John McCain NOT the Senator?
"That's a state decision. I have not had a chance to take a look, but the fact is, the state is acting because the federal government hasn't," he said. But McCain also acknowledged that he wasn't sure "whether all of it is legal or not," Politico's Ben Smith noted.
YOU are the Senator of the STATE! You are suppose to be REPRESENTING them in Congress. Not attempting to,,,{Sigh} never mind. But his Daughter said this. First she plays the Race Card, just like the Rev.s are revving up to do, but then she gets it RIGHT.
"But I also understand why this law came into existence in the first place," the senator's daughter said. She cited "the continued failure of the federal government to secure Arizona's borders" as well increased violence -- especially last month's killing of prominent Arizona rancher Robert Krentz, who was allegedly shot by an illegal immigrant.
70 percent of Arizonians are FOR this new Law. It does not violate ANYTHING. If you get pulled over by a Police Officer, what is the first thing they ask you for? Your Licence. They want to know who you are, where you live, and if you have the right to be here. Try to say no. See what happens to you. "Yeah well Pete, if you were speeding or violating the Law, of course the Police have the Right to ask who you are." HELLO? They are breaking the Law by just being here. I'll have more on this coming up in a few days. I want to answer a question I got, but just do not have time today.
Then you have this. Abortion. The Abortion issue has always been a big deal. Many States have place restrictions on their own Abortion policies. Many of which, the Residents of the States have Voted on. Oklahoma is one of them. In their State, there are two restrictions that you may or may not agree with. The majority of Oklahomans DO agree with them, but the Democrat Governor Vetoed them. Well, that has just been overridden. According to Newsmax.com - Okla. Senate Overrides Abortion Restriction Vetoes Tuesday, 27 Apr 2010 12:23 PM Article
The Oklahoma Senate has voted to override Gov. Brad Henry's vetoes of two abortion bills, meaning the bills become law without his signature.
The Republican-controlled Senate voted Tuesday to override the vetoes, a day after the House had done the same.
One of the bills requires women to undergo an ultrasound and listen to a detailed description of the fetus before getting an abortion. The other prohibits pregnant women from seeking damages if physicians withhold information or provide inaccurate information about their pregnancy.
In other words, if you go to the Doctor, he tells you, you are Pregnant, yet does not tell you where to go and how to get an Abortion, you can't SUE him. The Federal Government wants to FORCE Doctors, regardless of what the Doctor wants, to tell women where and how to kill their kids. Oklahoma said screw you.
Like I said folks, there is a movement afoot. There is a feeling in the air. There is FINALLY, a feeling in this Country that the Federal Government is over stepping their authority and going WAY to far, to fast, down the Socialism Road. The States are starting to stand up and say enough is enough. There is a Conservatism uprising out there. Morals, Values, and Faith are making a comeback. Sanity and Logic are starting to be on display over Insanity and this quest for tyranny. The States have quite the battle on their hands. I hope their are ready for it. Gov. Christie is fixing NJ. Making the hard choices we will soon all have to make to fix this absolute ignorant mess that Obama and Crew have put us in. There are a record number of Conservatives coming out saying that they will run this year. The Democrats, no, the Liberal Loon Democrats, KNOW they are on their way out. BIG. But it is up to you out there. November 2010 is one of the most important Elections you will EVER take part in. Do it. Vote these Socialist Dictator Wannabes out, before it is to late to do it. Take a lesson from the States. Stand up, and say, enough is enough.

Energy and Immigration
Well, well, well, Looky here. The Wag The Dog Bill, AKA, Financial Overhaul, has been Delayed. 57 to 41 vote in favor of beginning debate, short of the 60 needed. Which did include Sen. Ben Nelson (Neb.) joining Republicans as a No.
Hey folks,
Thankfully, the Quest For Tyranny has slowed down. That's good. In November we need to kill it. So why did Nelson Vote against it? The NEW derivatives would cut companies Profits, forcing them to set aside large sums of money to cover possible losses. It will hurt, if not kill small businesses. He knows this. Therefore he Voted No.
Monday was also the day that the Senate was suppose to come out and announce Cap and Tax. That didn't happen either. Why? Amnesty. That's right, Amnesty. They have been Governing AGAINST the Will of the People. Even some of their own are now done with them. Obamacare was Political Suicide. They know this. Cap and Tax, the "Financial Overhaul," AKA Socialising the Private Industry, are as well. The People are not happy. They need NEW People. So in the back, smoke filled rooms, while all this is going on upfront and personal, Amnesty looms.
Well, that doesn't sit well with some. According to The UK Guardian, Sunday, Immigration row delays unveiling of US energy reform bill Republican senator Lindsey Graham accuses Obama administration of 'cynical ploy' for Latino votes
The high visibility roll-out tomorrow of proposed climate change legislation for America collapsed at the weekend after a Republican co-author threatened to withdraw his support for the bill in a row over immigration.
Democrats were forced to postpone the much-hyped unveiling, putting a core Obama mission in jeopardy and further complicating international efforts to reach a deal on global warming.
The Regime's Mission failed. THAT is always a good thing.
Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican and one of three senators behind the proposals, accused the White House and the Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, of trying to leapfrog immigration reform ahead of energy, in a "cynical ploy" to win Latino voters in the run-up November's congressional elections.
"Unless their plan substantially changes this weekend, I will be unable to move forward on energy independence legislation at this time," Graham wrote in a letter to business, environmental, military and religious leaders.
Folks, this is NOT "Energy Independence" Legislation. This is Energy hindrance, skyrocketing energy cost, and JOB KILLING Legislation. This, and the rest of the Obama agenda will destroy the already weakened Economy. Remember a while back I said I was not ready to say, as some are, that Obama is PURPOSEFULLY killing the Economy? I am now. That is the only explanation that makes any sense whatsoever. The Economy is destroyed. The Free Market gone. EVERYONE has to rely on Government to survive. That makes sense. That is the only thing that does. They can not be THIS stupid, to be doing all this without thought of long term consequences.
So why the sudden push for Amnesty?
Immigration forced its way higher on to Obama's agenda last week when Arizona signed into a law a hardline crackdown, and Latino leaders said they would urge voters to stay at home in next November's congressional elections.
It's all about Votes. Forget that 70% of Arizona Voters FAVOR the new State measure cracking down On Illegal Immigration. It is PURELY Political. They do NOT care about Immigrants. They care only about their Votes. It really is just that simple. Just like they do not care about YOU.
The fact remains, instead of using our own resources, that EVERYONE knows we should, we are going to INCREASE our already heavy dependence on foreign Governments for our Energy. Even Obama said he was not against Drilling. He said so anyway, until he won the Election. Now, in the name of more power and control over the Private Sector, and YOUR Personal and Private Life, the Obama Regime is now saying that they want to hinder the Energy Companies. Reduce our Energy usage from Oil and Natural Gas, so that it will speed up Alternative Energy Usage. Yet, as we already talked about here plenty of times, THERE ARE NO ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES.
The RIGHT thing to do, is drill here, drill now, so we can all pay LESS. We can use our own resources and take MAJOR steps toward Energy Independence in about a year and a half to two years, WHILE attempting to find, perfect, and make AFFORDABLE to all, Alternative Energy. But to give up what the world runs on, for something that just doesn't exist, is completely idiotic to say the least. That would be like you saying, "OK. I hate my Job. I want to find a new one. So I quit!" Instead of going out there and FINDING a new one, BEFORE you quit. See which one works better?
So Amnesty and Insanity, are hindering the Liberal Loon Agenda. THAT IS A GOOD THING. Yet, it will not stave it off for long. As we saw with Obamacare. The only way to stop this quest for Tyranny, is a Regime Change. It is up to YOU in November to Vote these people out and lets look for TRUE hope and change. I hope we can bring about a Change in Government that will bring SANITY and the Will of the People BACK to Government.

A Person Behind Every Dollar Spent by Government
"Too often in the years leading up to this crisis, some -- and let me be clear, not all but some -- on Wall Street forgot that behind every dollar traded or leverage there's a family looking to buy a house or pay for an education, open a business, save for retirement."
To Barack: Let ME be clear, YOU and your Regime have forgot, that behind every dollar in Taxes, and your out of control spending, there's a family looking to buy a house or pay for an education, open a business, save for retirement.
Hey folks,
Welcome to the Big Sunday Edition of the OPNTalk Blog. Glad you could stop by. Yes, the Supreme Leader of the Obama Regime came out on Thursday and set Wall Street up as the fall guy. As the enemy of the people. Fannie and Freddie? Uh, no. Goldman Sacks, and some of the others. Yes. Why? Because internal Democrat Polling shows that their brain dead base, hate Wall Street, MORE than they hate them. They are using Wall Street and, wait for it, big surprise coming, Bush, as something to run against in 2010. But as I already told you, it's a scam. Goldman Sacks is in on it. But I'm not kidding. The Regime better start thinking about this. For every dollar spent, there are Americans going without, more and more, to foot the Bill.

I can not even imagine what I would do if I ever lost Joshua. A Parent should never have to bury a child. May they have the peace and comfort they need, in this very devastating time.
Going to fill my cup. Go get your morning gogo juice, whatever that may be, and meet me right back here. Remember, you can also follow along via Twitter - peteropntalk, Facebook - Peter Carlock, Tom Sullivan Radio Listener's Club - Peter Carlock, and as always, you can Email me at opntalk@gmail.com

To Christians, Every Day Is Earth Day
"Bet you are not celebrating Earth Day. You are a Christian right?"
Hey folks,
This is from the Emails, opntalk@gmail.com, and almost made it on Friday. But I do want to bring this up today, since I have more time to discuss it. I had an answer all ready to go today, then I got THIS in the Emails on Friday. It's from CSN News - Christian Theologian on Earth Day: ‘Climate Change Is the Totalitarian’s Dream Come True' Thursday, April 22, 2010 By Penny Starr, Senior Staff Writer
They put it better than I. I'm posting this because this is one of those topics that are completely misunderstood by nonbelievers. Here is a different way of thinking about it.
(CNSNews.com) – For E. Calvin Beisner and his colleagues at the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation (CASC), every day is Earth Day because Christians are called by God to be good stewards of the planet and its inhabitants.
Beisner believes that it is not carbon emissions but global warming activism and international climate treaties that are a threat to the nation’s future and the world’s poorest populations.
“Climate change is the totalitarian’s dream come true,” Beisner, founder of the CASC, said at a conference on Thursday at the Family Research Council in Washington. “It offers a rationale for government intrusion into every aspect of life for every person on Earth.”
Quest for Tyranny.
Beisner, who is also the national spokesman for the CASC, is a teacher and author who frequently speaks on the connection between religion and environmentalism.
Beisner painted a chilling picture of what would happen if the United States signed on to the kind of international climate-change treaty proposed at a United Nations conference in Copenhagen last year.
“Global warming alarmists see each new human being in terms of his or her ‘carbon footprint,’ and already many are saying that the best way to fight global warming is for everyone to have just one child so that the population will shrink,” Beisner said.
Also see IWA For Sunday 102509 Lord Christopher Monckton warned us about this also. Also see IWA For Sunday 20109 "Chirica" Population Control, Pelosi's Stimulus Idea?
The enforcement of a U.N.-style treaty would mean a global government’s intrusion into how people live their private lives – “everything from the temperature at which you keep your house to whether to drive a large, crash-worthy vehicle or a small car that conserves fuel but is a death trap in an accident,” Beisner said.
In his speech, Beisner said that Christians should be concerned about global warming policies because they affect myriad issues, such as the sanctity of human life, individual liberty, the survival of free enterprise and free markets in the United States, compassion for the poor around the world, and a sovereign America with the kind of limited government envisioned by the Founding Fathers.
Remember, with this Regime, it is no longer about if Global Warming Exists, it's more about what they are going to do about it. It doesn't really matter if it is real or not. What matters is the insanity that they want to bestow in it's name. But this next part is very true.
Christians are commanded by God to care for the poor, which Beisner said would suffer the most from the kind of environmental controls and alternative energy plans proposed by both the United Nations and the U.S. Congress.
“The Bible requires us to care for the poor,” he said, detailing how the policies focused on cutting the use of fossil fuels, for example, will hurt the poorest people by increasing the cost of energy and limiting its availability in the world’s poorest places where access to abundant energy supplies can prevent disease and premature death.
Remember the Single Mother that will have to decide between Food and how much gas to buy to go to her two jobs?
“Global warming legislation is part of a concerted effort to push environmentalism to the fore in American politics and culture,” Beisner said. “And environmentalism is hardly limited to good stewardship of God-given natural resources.
“Secular environmentalism, in contrast to creation stewardship, is at heart a false religion,” Beisner said.
Told you. Global Warming IS a Religion.
“It degrades human beings, the crown of God’s creation, deifies nature in its untouched state as the ideal – contrary to God’s mandate for man to fill, subdue, and rule the Earth – and disregards the poor, who often are harmed by environmental policies like banning DDT, a cheap and safe insecticide that could largely eliminate the malaria-bearing mosquitoes that cost millions of lives every year in the Third World,” he added.
Beisner also said the cap-and-trade legislation proposed by Democrats in Congress to limit carbon emissions and allow the trading of “carbon credits” will harm an already struggling economy by killing jobs and slowing or even reversing economic growth.
Beisner said his organization late last year released a comprehensive research project, “A Renewed Call to Truth, Prudence, and Protection of the Poor: An Evangelical Examination of the Theology, Science, and Economics of Global Warming.”
This project, he said, “provides solid Biblical, scientific, and economic basis for not only rejecting belief in dangerous manmade global warming, but also for rejecting policies meant to fight it.”
Beisner concluded by citing one of the founding principles of the CASC, which states that the Earth is not a fragile entity made randomly by chance but the creation of an almighty God, who sustains it.
“Raising the atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration from 27 thousandths of one percent to 39 thousandths of one percent, or even to 108 thousandths of one percent, is not going to cause catastrophic global warming that will, as Al Gore puts it, threaten to destroy human civilization and wipe out 90 percent or more of all species,” Beisner said.
“Our God is a more intelligent designer than to make a system so fragile, and a better judge to call such a system ‘very good’ after he made it,” Beisner said.
Amen! So do Christians believe in caring for the Earth? Of course we do. I believe in recycling. Or Reusing as it is called now. I believe in "Green Burials" Thanks to Dr. Billy Campbell. I have no problem with Cremation. As I told all that know me, to bad it's illegal, and would just raise WAY to many questions, when I die, put me in a hefty bag and put me out in the Trash. But then again, Landfills?
No folks. I do not have a problem with some environmental measures to protect the Earth from the stupidities of man. But is man destroying the planet? Are Cows farting killing us all? No. Without CO2, we all die. It is not a pollutant, no matter who says it is. It is a natural Life cycle. Good air in, Carbon out. Carbon feed plants. Plants transform it back into clean air. With out it, no plants, no clean air, no Mankind.
What we are against is Tyranny. In any form it takes.

Embryonic Stem Cells Not Needed
Health and Science for Sunday 042510
Hey folks,
Did you catch this? According to HealthDay - Vatican Funds Adult Stem Cell Research
The Vatican announced Friday that it will fund adult stem cell research.
The $2.7 million donation will go to a University of Maryland School of Medicine-led effort looking at the potential use of adult stem cells to treat intestinal diseases and possible other conditions, the Associated Press reported.
The project is in the early stages and it would be years before it might produce any clinical treatments, officials said.
While it supports the use of adult stem cells, the Vatican opposes embryonic stem cell research because it requires the destruction of embryos, the AP reported.
Of course it's not destroying unborn babies. Of course the Vatican has not problem with it. But Obama DID, Monday March 9th 2009, ended restrictions on Federal Funding for Embryonic Stem Cell Research. Not that the Obama State run Media reported that. He signed an Executive Order rescinding President Bush's Ban on it.
Here are the FACTS though folks. Embryonic Stem Cell Research has accomplished NOTHING. It has shown NO benefits whatsoever. Yet, because the Left have linked it to Abortion, this Moron, Obama, who we all know is the most anti-life person ever elected to the highest office in the land, made it possible for YOU to pay for this failed Research.
Adult Stem Cells. Skin Cells have been turned into Stem Cells that resemble Embryonic Stem Cells without having to make or destroy an Embryo. Dr. Shinya Yamanaka is leading the way on this. Both of these ARE showing signs of Hope. All they had to do, the scientists said, was add four genes. The genes reprogrammed the chromosomes of the skin cells, making the cells into blank slates that should be able to turn into any of the 220 cell types of the human body, be it heart, brain, blood or bone.
As I pointed out on March 08, 2009, Obama No Friend Of Life,
So Embryonic Stem Cell Research is moot. It is pointless. It is a FAILURE. It is a waste of money. It is MURDER. But that does not matter to Obama. Here is a guy that did NOT want Doctors to save live aborted babies, nor does he want limits on Abortion. He just appointed a HUGE Pro-Murder person to the head of Healthcare and he told Doctors, "You will kill. Even if you do not believe in it."
It's not big news that the Vatican supports Adult Stem Cell Research. No one dies. Nothing is created just to be destroyed. This is the RIGHT way to go.

SF crime is down, REALLY?
I just LOVE this Headline
Hey folks,
THIS is the headline that the Obama State Run Media LOVE to put out there. Everything is so much better under Lib Rule.
San Francisco Chronicle - SF crime is down -- as long as you aren't talking rapes or homicide From reporter Nanette Asimov:
{Laughing} I love this.
The bottom line at Chief George Gascon's news conference today was that crime dropped 13 percent in the first quarter of this year compared with last year.
Sure it is.
But turn off the slide projector and look at the rapes, robberies and homicides not featured on the big screen. All were higher in the first three months of 2010 than during the same time last year.
Rape was up 33 percent, from 33 incidents last year to 44 this year. Robbery was up 13 percent, from 744 to 844. Homicides were up 9 percent, from 11 to 12.
"We're obviously concerned about it," Gascon said of violent crimes. The increase in rapes could be due to increased reporting, he said. "We don't know."
Isn't that the problem? "We don't know?"
Aggravated assaults declined, as did burglaries, car thefts, domestic violence, child abuse and other kinds of crimes.
Seven more fires were intentionally set, up from 43 last year.
To emphasize the idea that the police are overall doing a better job of curbing crime, Gascon delivered his remarks beside a table filled with guns -- from 4-foot-long AK-47s to rusty old guns swiped from someone̢۪s attic. They were among the 326 guns seized from the streets this year, he said.
"Our strategy," he said, "will continue to evolve."
So have no worries Mate. As long as someone doesn't want to Rape or Kill you, things are looking better. Yes, you do not have to worry about you house being broken into, or your car stolen. Just Raped, Killed, and your House set on fire. Ah, all is well. {Laughing}

DLA For 042510
Now here is Hope and Change I can Believe in.
Hey folks,
Gov. Chris Christie in NJ, Marco Rubio in the Florida Senate race, and NOW Gov. Jan Brewer, the Republican Arizona Governor, talks about signing Immigration Bill SB1070 into law Friday, April 23, 2010, in Phoenix.
She said the bill "represents another tool for our state to use as we work to solve a crisis that we did not create and the federal government has refused to fix -- the crisis caused by illegal immigration."
That's right folks.
The sweeping measure will make it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally. It will also require local police officers to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are in the country illegally.
Now wait a second. She did not sign a Bill making it Illegal, they ARE Illegal. She signed a Bill telling Law Enforcement to Enforce the Law. Well it's about time. Get this.
Earlier, President Obama called the bill "misguided" and said it could violate people's civil rights. He said he's instructed the Justice Department to see if it is legal.
They are ILLEGALLY HERE. They do NOT have Civil Rights. They are not US Citizens. They are Criminals. They do not want to be "harassed?" Come here LEGALLY.
Talk about Politics as usual. Pandering to the Illegal Aliens for Votes, is what Obama is all about. It is what Amnesty is all about. Tax and spend, or as the Loons are doing now, Spend and tax, entitlement programs, and unsustainable spending ARE Politics as usual. Gov. Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, Gov. Jan Brewer, along with a few others DO represent TRUE Change and a Hope that we can get back to a Government OF the People, By the People, and get away from the "Ruling Class" mentality.
Congratulations Gov. Jan Brewer, for seeing the Logic in ENFORCING the Law, and seeing that Amnesty for Illegals will indeed be hurtful to all, you are the winner of the Display of Logic Award. Thank you for having the courage to stick to your morals and follow through with your word.

Second week in a row, where there is NO DOUBT.
Hey folks,
Time to wrap things up today, with the Idiot of the Week. This IS the second week in a row that there should be no doubt whatsoever who the winner is. Yes. You got it. The GEICO guy.
No it's not the little Gecko. I love the Gecko character. I really do. Is it just me, or does he sound EXACTLY like Ed Sanders from Extreme Makeover Home Edition? Anyway, this ain't him. This is the Voice over guy that did a few GEICO Commercials. His name? Lance Baxter, better known as DC Douglas.
So OK. You, drunk, on and dare, or whatever, feel the need to call up a Private Organization and leave this message,
do you then hang up with satisfaction that you sure told them? Do you post it yourself on your website, leaving out the fact it was you? Or do you give your phone number, name, EMPLOYER information, and ask for a call back? Of course, you do the latter. {Laughing}
So after this Moron called and left a Hate Message on an answering service, they call him back. He asked for it. Then, the head of this Organization let the members, a lot of YOU, know that this guy thinks you are a "Retard" and that you are going to snap and kill someone, he asks, why not give this guy a call, since he was so kind to leave his name, number, and employer. He said he is writing a paper, go ahead and help him out. {Laughing} You did. GEICO fired the guy. {Laughing}
Now he wants to sue FreedomWorks. Yes. After harassing THEM, he wants to sue THEM. Truth is, this guy is a nobody. He is nothing. He is only famous in his own mind. He said so. He also said that this was a resume enhancement,,,,well,,,in Lib Land, he might be right. I know I wil not deal with any company that DOES decide to hire this guy. I can not speak for you of course. Oh, he is not spending any money to sue, he wants a Lawyer to take the case Pro bono. {Laughing} Good luck with that. He actually said this.
"We can't let these kinds of tactics become the norm in our country. If we do, then anybody can lose their job just for voicing an opinion."
They ARE the norm in this country. On YOUR SIDE! From the President calling people bitter Clingers, the Obama Media saying that Tea Party Members are White Racist Men. Which couldn't be further from the truth. To personal attacks on ANYONE that speaks out against this Regime. YOU! You, you complete Moron. YOU are the one that decided to pick up the phone. YOU were the one who decided to call people that you do not agree with as Retards. YOU are the one that show your complete stupidity when you say that someone is going to KILL someone. YOU are the problem Mr. Baxter. I understand that you lack the ability to actually THINK. I understand that you are to stupid to apply Logic to what you hear in the Obama State Run Media. I understand you are nothing but a drone. But YOU did it. You have no one to blame but yourself.
Congratulations Lance Baxter, you ARE the Idiot of the Week. Now you have your 15 minutes, how does it feel?

Media Pushing One Side Of Global Warming
"OK, guess you were right."
Hey folks,
Happy Friday to you. Since it is Friday, TIME to go to the Emails.
"OK, guess you were right."
Why would you ever doubt me? {Smile} I have been telling you about the GWBS Chicken Little Crowd for YEARS.
"I didn't believe you, but now I see it. The 'Chicken Little' Crowd are being exposed."
Here it is. I could spend all day on saying, "I told you so." and "I said that in blah blah blah." But the archives can show you what I have been saying about the SCAM that is Global Warming, the press being bought and paid for, and, well, just check this out.
Media Reality Check:
Twenty Years of Advocacy, Not Journalism, on Global Warming
Even After ClimateGate Scandal, Reporters Have Pushed a One-Sided "Sky Is Falling" Mantra on Climate Change
For more than two decades, the so-called mainstream media have preached the dangers of manmade global warming, insisting American businesses and consumers must make massive economic sacrifices to ward off a global climate catastrophe. Not even last November’s exposure of e-mails from leading scientists on the alarmist side of the debate — showing them conniving to fudge or suppress data, discredit critics and distort the peer review process — has caused journalists to finally take a skeptical approach to radical environmentalists’ doomsaying.
A new study {Special Report: Networks Hide the Decline in Credibility of Climate Change Science} from the MRC’s Business & Media Institute documents how ABC, CBS and NBC have been just as strident in their advocacy in the months following “ClimateGate” as they were in the 20 years that preceded the scandal. At the same time, a review of the Media Research Center’s archives going back to the late 1980s shows just how strongly reporters have pushed the liberal line on global warming. Here are just some of the many examples:
# “Global warming could mean economic upheaval. It could bring suffering. It could bring starvation....The causes of global warming are no mystery. The biggest culprit is carbon dioxide, or CO2, a bi-product when man burns fossil fuels to run cars or generate electricity....If we fail to act, there may be hell to pay in a hotter world....Global warming is not a fact, just a widely-held theory. The problem is, if man waits for proof, it may be too late.”
— Host Don Harrison narrating CNN’s primetime Climate In Crisis special, August 1, 1989.
# “As the science editor at Time, I would freely admit that on this issue we have crossed the boundary from news reporting to advocacy.”
— Time’s Charles Alexander at a September 16, 1989 global warming conference at the Smithsonian Institute, as quoted in the October 5 Wall Street Journal.
# “If the world is to head off the risk of global warming, with its danger of massive crop failure, or rising sea levels, or spreading starvation in the poorest countries, then America — the largest producer of the gases that cause global warming — is in the spotlight.”
— ABC reporter Ned Potter on World News Tonight, April 7, 1992.
# “Environmentalists see catastrophes of biblical proportions, from droughts to melting ice caps that send sea levels rising.”
— Correspondent Barry Petersen on the CBS Evening News, December 1, 1997.
# Karen Kerrigan, Small Business Survival Committee: “To say that the science is conclusive...is actually bunk.”
Host Ted Koppel: “I was just going to make the observation that there are still some people who believe in the Flat Earth Society, too, but that doesn’t mean they’re right.”
— Exchange on the December 9, 1997 Nightline.
# “After decades of rancorous debate, only a handful of the most doctrinaire die-hards still dispute the idea that human activity is heating up the planet.”
— Time’s Michael Lemonick in a special edition for Earth Day, 2000.
# “Despite the danger that climate change poses, the resources currently devoted to studying this problem — and combating it — are inconsequential compared with the trillions spent during the Cold War. Twenty years from now, we may wonder how we could have miscalculated which threat represented the greater peril.”
— Time contributor Eugene Linden, September 4, 2000.
# “Around the world, the anger runs as deep as the flood waters being blamed on the global warming the Kyoto treaty was supposed to fight. President Bush says he’s putting American economic interests first in rejecting Kyoto, and in Britain, where they’re having their wettest winter ever, they sadly agree....Others point to severe weather conditions around the planet — flooding for the second consecutive year in Mozambique, drought and famine in the Sudan — and they say the U.S. is substantially to blame.”
— Mark Phillips on the March 29, 2001 CBS Evening News.
# “Frankly, this notion that there isn’t enough science, I mean that’s right up there with does smoking cause lung cancer.”
— Newsweek’s Eleanor Clift discussing global warming on the McLaughlin Group, June 16, 2001.
# “Glaciers are receding. Oceans are rising. Alaska is thawing. As officials from nearly 180 nations start to gather Monday in Bonn, Germany, to confront the vexing problem of global warming, the issue is no longer whether it is real, but what should be done about it.”
— Opening of July 16, 2001 USA Today front-page article, “Six ways to combat global warming,” by Traci Watson and Jonathan Weisman.
# Weatherman Mark McEwen: “Up and down the East Coast, it’s coming our way, but we will probably see just rain in the big cities.”
Co-host Bryant Gumbel: “We never get any snow.”
McEwen: “Do you think it’s global warming?”
Gumbel: “Yes, yes.”
McEwen: “Do you, Jane?”
Co-host Jane Clayson: “Yeah.”
McEwen: “We’re unanimous....It’s global warming.”
— Exchange on CBS’s Early Show, February 6, 2002.
# “ExxonMobil — I think this is a real group of bad guys, considering that they have funded all the anti-global-warming propaganda out there in the world. And Bush is just not going to go against guys like that. They are bad, bad guys, because of what they are doing in fighting the science of global warming.”
— New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman in an interview published in Rolling Stone, October 17, 2002.
# Peter Jennings: “We’re going to take ‘A Closer Look’ tonight at why the temperature matters to all of us when it is affected by global warming. And just to be clear again, global warming is the gradual increase of the temperature of the Earth’s lower atmosphere as a result of the increase in manmade gases since the industrial revolution....”
Reporter Bill Blakemore: “Severe climate change is accelerating....Polar bears are starving as the ice they hunt on vanishes, along with the seals they eat. Millions of birds are affected as spring comes too early and the fish they eat [have] gone to seek cooler waters.”
— ABC’s World News Tonight, November 8, 2004.
# “The hurricane that struck Louisiana yesterday was nicknamed Katrina by the National Weather Service. Its real name is global warming....Unfortunately, very few people in America know the real name of Hurricane Katrina because the coal and oil industries have spent millions of dollars to keep the public in doubt about the issue....As the pace of climate change accelerates, many researchers fear we have already entered a period of irreversible runaway climate change.”
— Former Washington Post and Boston Globe reporter Ross Gelbspan in an August 30, 2005 Boston Globe op-ed.
# “No one can say exactly what it looks like when a planet takes ill, but it probably looks a lot like Earth....Suddenly and unexpectedly, the crisis is upon us....Something has gone grievously wrong. That something is global warming.”
— Time’s Jeffrey Kluger in the magazine’s April 3, 2006 global warming cover story: “Be Worried. Be Very Worried.”
# “It is getting hot here on Earth. How hot? Well, maybe hotter than it has been in 2,000 years and it is our fault. Humans, that is.”
— Anchor Bob Schieffer on the CBS Evening News, June 22, 2006.
# Tom Brokaw: “About 10 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered by ice, most of that in the polar regions. But if enough of that ice melts, the seas will rise dramatically and the results will be calamitous....If this worst-case scenario should occur, in the coming centuries New York could be abandoned, its famous landmarks lost to the sea.”
Dr. James Hansen, Goddard Institute for Space Studies: “Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Miami — they would all be under water.”
— From Brokaw’s two-hour Discovery Channel special, Global Warming: What You Need to Know, excerpt shown on the July 15, 2006 NBC Nightly News.
# “Scientists are more certain than ever that humans are heating the globe very quickly with potentially severe consequences.”
— NBC’s Robert Bazell, Dec. 16, 2006 Nightly News.
# “So I’m running in the park on Saturday, in shorts, thinking this [warm weather] is great, but are we all gonna die? You know? I can’t, I can’t figure this out.”
— Co-host Meredith Vieira talking about global warming on NBC’s Today, January 8, 2007.
# “It seems like we’re reaching critical mass when it comes to this issue. And all the experts agree. Well, almost every expert. (There are a handful of scientists — many of them on the payroll of big oil companies — who wonder if global warming is a reality.) But my fervent hope is that Hollywood’s embrace of Al Gore doesn’t give people an excuse to condemn and mock the effort — and oppose taking steps that we as a society need to take to deal with the issue of climate change.”
— Anchor Katie Couric writing about the Oscars on her CBSNews.com blog, “Couric & Co.,” February 26, 2007.
# “I really don’t think climate change is a political issue.... Everyone agrees it’s happening. If it’s a political issue, it’s whether the political will exists to address that change. We know we need to do something, and this is a way to heighten awareness.”
— NBC Senior Vice President Dan Harrison quoted in the July 9, 2007 Washington Post defending NBC Universal’s 75-hour multi-network coverage of Gore’s “Live Earth.”
# “Global Warming is a Hoax* Or so claim well-funded naysayers who still reject the overwhelming evidence of climate change. Inside the denial machine.”
— Cover of the August 13, 2007 Newsweek.
# “Climate experts say whether hired guns or honest dissenters, deniers are confusing the issue and delaying solutions....The scientific debate is no longer over society’s role in global warming. It is now a matter of degrees.”
— NBC’s Anne Thompson on the August 16, 2007 Nightly News.
# “There are a few, I guess you could call them dead enders out there. There are a few that are still holding true to the notion that maybe this is some sort of natural cycle....It is a tiny fraction of a minority of scientists out there. And when you look at those scientists and trace their funding, frequently you are led to the fossil fuel industry. So, really, it’s not a scientific debate anymore.”
— CNN environment correspondent Miles O’Brien talking about scientists who dispute Al Gore’s premise of a coming climate catastrophe, during CNN Newsroom, October 12, 2007.
# “The verdict from the Nobel committee must be sweet vindication....[But] even the Nobel Prize is not going to be enough to silence the naysayers, some of whom still believe that man is not responsible for global warming.”
— ABC’s David Wright on Al Gore’s winning of the Nobel Peace Prize, World News, October 12, 2007.
# “The President of the U.S. can better shape the response to climate change than any other person in the world. Given the importance of this issue and the fact that you have emerged as its global spokesman, don’t you have a moral obligation to put yourself forward for the presidency?”
— Time’s Bryan Walsh in an interview with former Vice President Al Gore, who was runner-up in the magazine’s December 31, 2007 “Person of the Year” edition.
# “Could global warming one day force us into space to live?”
— ABC’s Sam Champion, Good Morning America, February 8, 2008.
# “Not doing it [fighting global warming] will be catastrophic. We’ll be eight degrees hotter in 10, not 10 but in 30 or 40 years, and basically none of the crops will grow. Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals. Civilization will have broken down.”
— CNN founder Ted Turner on PBS’s Charlie Rose, April 1, 2008.
# “Global warming naysayers are claiming that e-mails stolen from this research university show climate scientists discussing how to fudge results to promote the idea that humans are altering the planet....[But] the science is solid, according to a vast majority of researchers, with hotter temperatures, melting glaciers, and rising sea level providing the proof.”
— ABC correspondent Clayton Sandell talking about the ClimateGate scandal on World News, December 6, 2009.
# “Does this controversy change the science? A team of explorers will present findings on Arctic ice melt in Copenhagen, findings that have nothing to do with the e-mails....Beyond just the lack of summer sea ice, scientists also point to some other things happening around the planet. The increased melting of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets, earlier springs....All of those things are certain things that are happening, that they say it doesn’t matter what’s in those e-mails — the Earth is changing.”
— NBC’s Anne Thompson on NBC’s Today, December 7, 2009.
# Correspondent Wyatt Andrews: “To many Republicans, Climategate proves that global warming is a deception....But if that’s true, it’s a fraud adopted by most of the world’s leading scientists, along with NASA, the U.N., the American Medical Association, and the National Academies of Science of 32 countries, including the United States. To most of them, ClimateGate is a sideshow compared to one overwhelming fact:”
Professor Michael Mann: “The last decade is the warmest decade on record.”
— CBS Evening News, December 9, 2009.
END of Media Reality Check
To read it online, posted with five videos: HERE.
Problem is, the "Scientists" that are still out there claiming that Man-Made Global Warming is real, and we are destroying the planet, are starting to be outnumbered by those saying "Uh, no." Even Al Gore's own Scientists are starting to come out and say, "No, wait, we didn't say that."
More and more Scientists are NOW telling you the truth. CO2 is NOT a pollutant. It IS a natural part of the Life Cycle. Warming and cooling are NATURAL CYCLES. We are NOT warming. Haven't since 1998. There is no impending, immediate threat to the Earth.
I know, I know. Some of my more Liberal Friends have bought into the whole thing hook, line, and sinker. As I also pointed out to you before, Global Warming has become a Religion to some. And we all know how hard it is to attempt to persuade a Religious person to question their Religious tenets. Not to forgo them, but merely question them. Look into what they say, and apply logic and reason. Most will NEVER do that. Most just follow blindly along.
When we have the Media reporting only half the story, to push an agenda, they cease being a News Agency, and become an Advocacy Group. Nothing more. Nothing less. But then again, that IS who they are.

The Obama, Goldman Sachs, Scam
Goldman Sack is in this together with Obama.
Hey folks,
Happy Hump Day. This is really starting to agitate me. I even hear some comparing the Goldman Sacks thing to Enron. OK. Let's look at that first. The Washington Examiner has a GREAT piece on this.
President Bush's connections to Enron were well-hyped during the company's accounting debacle that rippled through the economy. Time magazine even had an article called, "Bush's Enron Problem." The Associated Press ran with the headline, "Bush-backing Enron makes big money off crisis." David Callaway wrote that Enron for Bush was worse than Whitewater for Clinton.
In 2002, the New York Times wrote: "President Bush is seeking to play down his relationship with Enron's embattled chairman, Kenneth L. Lay. But their ties are broad and deep and go back many years, and the relationship has been beneficial to both." (h/t Lachlan Markey)
But the mere $151,722.42 (inflation adjusted) in contributions from Enron-affiliated executives, employees, and PACs to Bush hardly add up to Obama's $1,007,370.85 (inflation adjusted) from Goldman-affiliated executives and employees. That's also not taking into account how much Goldman contributed to Obama cabinet member Hillary Clinton ($415,595.63 inflation adjusted), which was itself almost three times as much as Bush received as well.
Read more at the Washington Examiner
Then, as Timothy P. Carney points out, you have the fact that there are very strong inside connections.
Greg Craig, Obama's first White House counsel, has joined Goldman, we learned this week. He may not have too much pull in the West Wing, which drove him out for hewing too close to Obama's campaign promises, but as a former insider he will provide valuable intelligence to the world's largest investment bank.
Rahm Emanuel, White House chief of staff, was paid $35,000 as a consultant to Goldman while also working as Bill Clinton's top fundraiser. Obama's fundraiser and economic adviser Warren Buffett is very long on Goldman, having bet on them in 2008 in the expectation of a bailout. Mark Patterson, chief of staff to Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, was a Goldman Sachs lobbyist until months before joining Team Obama.
And then there's record-breaking campaign cash: Goldman executives and employees gave about $950,000 to Obama for America -- the most a politician has raised from a single company since campaign finance reform. It's also more than the combined Goldman haul of every Republican running for president, Senate, and the House.
Anytime that Enro,,,,sorry, Goldman Sachs, wants to, they can pick up the phone and call the White House. They have paid for that privilege. Then you have THIS fact.
Vague public calls for "reasonable regulation," of course, are often little more than smoke. But Goldman's annual report explicitly endorsed stricter federal capital and liquidity requirements. Goldman reported on the conference call that it holds 15 percent "Tier 1 capital," meaning it is very liquid and not very risky. Goldman can play it safe, you see, without needing a regulation. But regulations prevent smaller competitors from taking the risks needed to compete with Goldman (and every competitor is smaller).

People will not take the time to hear this. What they WILL hear, is Obama is going up a against the Big Bad Wall Street. They will {Obama and crew hope} forget about Obamacare for right now, and jump on board the Democrat Express in November.
This whole thing is a SCAM though folks. On Friday, April 16, 2010, the New York Times Broke the story about the SEC Lawsuit. On Friday, if anyone attempted to serch for information on this, "Goldman Sachs SEC" it takes you to the White House Website, "Help Change Wall Street." But the claim, "We knew nothing about the Suit until we read it in the Times." Idiots.
Then on Monday, AARP came out with a commercial that ties right in. A very well done commercial. One that takes time to put together. But we already know that the AARP is now bought and paid for by Obama. Why do you think they are losing member every day. They just had this ad ready to go Monday morning of this week?
Call this Obama's "Wage the Dog," or the Obama Regime push for even more takeover of the Private Sector, or whatever you like. The reason really matters not. The fact is, the only thing that really matters, is getting these people that are on a quest for tyranny out in November. THAT is what matters. Do not get all caught up in the Class Warfare thing. That is what they want.

Hey folks,
Happy Hump Day.

If We Only Had Our Own.
From the Energy Front 042010
Hey folks,
Short and sweet today. Commonsense needs to prevail here. It is true that,,,
China's Economy is THRIVING.
Energy Use is Increasing all over the World.
Supply and Demand is in effect.
Oil is Over $80.00 a gallon.
Our Administration doesn't care.
According to Bloomberg Business Week - Algerian ministers says oil output levels to hold
ORAN, Algeria
Algerian Energy Minister Chakib Khelil says OPEC production quotas are not reponsible for the recent increase in oil prices and that the cartel has no intention of reviewing output levels before its next meeting planned in October.
Khelil says members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries still have surpluses of about 6 million barrels per day and contends that "speculators" are to blame for prices recently rising above S80 per barrel.
The small drop in oil prices since airlines were grounded in Europe because of volcanic ash is "a case study" of how speculators on the oil market overreact both ways to economic data, Khelil told reporters Monday after presiding over a forum of gas exporting countries.
So they are not looking to change anything. No more increasing Production. No increase in supply, demand remains high. Prices remain high.
You can blame whoever you chose, but the bottom line is, if we used our own, we would not have $3.00 a gallon gas. Venezuela is 12 CENTS a gallon. They use their own.
Now I want to look around the World. Gas Prices in the areas that are pushing Green? Between $6.00 to $8.00 a gallon. You want to pay that? The area's that use their OWN Resources? You get it, cheap.
They are not increasing Supply. The World is not decreasing Demand. We are not Drilling and using our own resources. Prices will continue to go up. But then again, Obama DID say that once he was elected President, Energy prices would "Necessarily Skyrocket" and the fact he LIKES high energy prices. He just thought they went up to fast. To much of a shock. He would rather push the agenda, which of course give Government more control over your home, and your daily life.
The equation is simple. More supply = less demand = lower prices for all. Yes, we can continue looking for "Greener Energy," work at perfecting "Greener Energy," while at the same time, using our resources to make energy Costs affordable to all. Dream verse reality? Reality wins every time.

$10.8 Billion Profit, Tax Bill $0
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- General Electric filed more than 7,000 income tax returns in hundreds of global jurisdictions last year, but when push came to shove, the company owed the U.S. government a whopping bill of $0.
Oh to be GE. Hey folks,
Welcome to the Big Sunday Edition of the OPNTalk Blog. So how did they do this? Well according to CNN Money - GE: 7,000 tax returns, $0 U.S. tax bill By Annalyn Censky, staff reporter April 16, 2010: 11:52 AM ET
GE had plenty of earnings last year -- just not in the United States. For tax purposes, the company's U.S. operations lost $408 million, while its international businesses netted a $10.8 billion profit.
That left GE (GE, Fortune 500) with no U.S. profit left for Uncle Sam to tax. Corporations typically face a 35% federal income tax on their earnings. Thanks to its deductions and adjustments, GE reported an actual U.S. federal income tax rate of negative 10.5%. It got to add a "tax benefit" of $1.1 billion back into its reported earnings.
They are not alone. This is a pretty common practice, and it is completely legal. Yet, YOU sure will pay your taxes.

All that in just a second. Told you Cap and Tax was next. According to Reuters - US Senate climate bill to be unveiled April 26
* Backers hope for Senate vote in June or July
* Measure could affect states' climate control activities (Adds reaction from American Petroleum Institute)
Oh it will effect States. It will once again, take authority away from states and gives it to the Federal Government. According to this piece..
On Wednesday, a Senate source told Reuters the legislation would prohibit the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating carbon dioxide emissions. It would also end state and regional carbon-trading programs, such as the one several Northeastern states participate in, to be replaced by a national carbon reduction policy. [N14150360]
It will increase Gas prices also. 27 cents a gallon. That's on top of the already HIGH prices for other reasons. It will be a final nail in our Economic Coffin.
Going to fill my cup. Today is one of my favorites, Folgers Gourmet Selections, Chocolate Truffle. You can find it at your local Grocer, or at their Website, www.folgers.com. Go get your morning Joe, and we shall meet right back here in just a minute.

The Bubble Factor
"Is the Tea Party responsible for the chaos going on in the Democrat Party?"
Hey folks,
"Is it responsible for what is going on in the country? Are they and Talk Radio, really creating all this anger out there?"
This is just one form of the same question I keep getting asked. Basically, are the Tea Parties responsible for the demise of the Liberal Leadership in November and will the Republicans get the message as well so we do not have a repeat of what we saw in 94?
The sort answer is both yes and no. You see, the Tea Parties are a PRODUCT of the anger. They are the result, not the cause. What about Talk Radio? The Blogs? {I guess that would mean me as well.} Again, the short answer is both yes and no. So what IS the cause? The Bubble Factor.
Let me try to explain it this way. Most people, from all walks of life, live somewhere in the middle of the spectrum of life. They live in their happy homes, drive their happy cars, go off to school then work. They have their hobbies, and they meet one another, leave their Parents and join together, having children of their own, cycle repeats.
From time to time, something will pull at their heart strings. They will donate some money, go down and volunteer at a soup kitchen, or join a cause. Yet, at the end of the day, there they are in their happy little beds, drifting off to Dream Land.
Truth is, most people have no clue as to what reality is. As long as the outside does not penetrate their little bubble, they are happy. They go to Church, say Amen, go back into their little worlds. They rarely take the time to truly look around to see what they can see.
I'm not saying this is a bad thing. No, I'm not judging anyone. Simply stating reality. For most, Politics is even more alluding. For most, Politics is about two months, every two years. One Politician says one thing, the other says something else, they go with, if they even bother to Vote, the one that best sounds most related to the view they possess. Most do not bother to learn anything beyond what they hear on the local News.
Once in a while though, something comes along and penetrates their little bubble. Then they start to look more deeply into whatever it is. A disease, War, Death or a loved one, and sadly, FINANCES.
I and many other tried to warn everyone that the new Liberal Party, or Progressives, have taken over the once great Democratic Party. That they are on a quest for tyranny. Many thought to themselves, "This could never happened here." Many still find it hard to wrap their head around the reality that we now have a President that is actively trying to destroy this country to remake it in his image. To make himself ruler over the new USSA. But he is. It is happening right before your eyes.
Now with Obamacare passed. All of the out of control spending. The Government taking over more and more Private Businesses. Cap and Tax on it's way. Amnesty. Jobs falling out all over the place. MOST Americans now can tell you that they know someone personally that has recently lost a job. That is scary to some. To many. People are losing their homes. Freedom is being stripped away. Obama and Crew, Pelosi and Reid, ARE penetrating peoples little happy bubble.
Talk Radio, and the Blogs, have been instrumental in both warning people what was going to happen, and are now being proven correct, but they continue to tell people that truth. The Tea Parties are breaking out all over the place because of people waking up and looking to see what they can see, and they do not like it. The Tea Parties are the result of what Obama and Crew have been and continue to do. They are not the cause of it.
Because this Administration and this Congress have decided to legislate and Govern AGAINST the Will of the PEOPLE, the PEOPLE are starting to fight back. It is the PEOPLE that are causing all this chaos in the Democrat Party. Well, actually, it is the Liberals in the Democrat Party that are tearing it apart. The Insane agenda that they are on, is Political suicide. That is why they are bailing out like Rats on a Sinking Ship. It is by their own hand.
People are starting to feel it. They are seeing and feeling it in their own homes. They are seeing it in their own communities. They are NOW starting to understand what is going on. It is the People, not just the Tea Parties, but the whole People, from every walk of life, Religion, and Political Party. It is not some fringe group playing Politics as usual. It is true Americans that love this country and are starting to look into the future and they are not liking what they see. It is the People that are hearing stories from newly arrive Immigrates that are telling them, "This is how it began in my country." It is the People that, having their Bubbles burst, are now learning, listening, and understanding.
They hear people like Kitty Werthmann warn them of what she went through. She tells how Hitler nationalized (socialized) the banks, health care, automobile production, education, and more. They hear her talk about how Welfare became a “huge apparatus,” said Werthmann. Everyone had access to subsidized housing, food stamps, heating subsidies and many other benefits until everyone–regardless of salary–reached the prescribed standard of living.
“That’s called socialism,” she said. Werthmann cited the exchange between Joe the Plumber and Presidential Candidate Obama about “spreading the wealth” as a sign that it’s already begun here.
Over and over, more and more people are starting to see through the veil, the Dream that was Obama, into the Reality of who and what Obama, and the new Liberals are. people like my neighbor Tanya from Russia, talks all the time about how she is scared listing to Obama. "This all sounds to familiar." People are awake. Some FULLY awake.
America is a conservative Country. Every Poll shows the majority of Americans see themselves as Conservatives. Most in this country are also Christians. Most in this Country, including MOST if not all, recent, {within the last twenty years or a bit more} immigrates, LOVE this country. We love our Freedoms. Our Possibilities. We love the American Dream. We think this country is the greatest on the face of the planet. We do not want someone who doesn't, to come in and attempt to destroy it. They are tired of being ignored. Tired of being insulted. Tired of all the out of control spending and Oppressive Taxation that they know will be coming. The know that Energy costs are about to explode. Obama said so. It must to pay for all this garbage.
So yes, Talk Radio, and the rest of the New Media is responsible for getting the TRUTH out there. The Tea Parties are THE PEOPLE standing up and saying, "Enough is enough, and we are not going to take it any more." So yes, they to are responsible for getting the truth out there, and letting others know that they are not alone.
But what is really boils down to, is people's little personal Worlds, their Bubbles, have started to be pierced. The anger is real. The People are mad as hell. The Truth is where the cause lies. The deeds of those in Government is to blame. It is by their own hand that they will fall. It really is, just that simple.
