SF crime is down, REALLY?

I just LOVE this Headline

Hey folks,

THIS is the headline that the Obama State Run Media LOVE to put out there. Everything is so much better under Lib Rule.

San Francisco Chronicle - SF crime is down -- as long as you aren't talking rapes or homicide From reporter Nanette Asimov:

{Laughing} I love this.

The bottom line at Chief George Gascon's news conference today was that crime dropped 13 percent in the first quarter of this year compared with last year.

Sure it is.

But turn off the slide projector and look at the rapes, robberies and homicides not featured on the big screen. All were higher in the first three months of 2010 than during the same time last year.

Rape was up 33 percent, from 33 incidents last year to 44 this year. Robbery was up 13 percent, from 744 to 844. Homicides were up 9 percent, from 11 to 12.

"We're obviously concerned about it," Gascon said of violent crimes. The increase in rapes could be due to increased reporting, he said. "We don't know."

Isn't that the problem? "We don't know?"

Aggravated assaults declined, as did burglaries, car thefts, domestic violence, child abuse and other kinds of crimes.

Seven more fires were intentionally set, up from 43 last year.

To emphasize the idea that the police are overall doing a better job of curbing crime, Gascon delivered his remarks beside a table filled with guns -- from 4-foot-long AK-47s to rusty old guns swiped from someoneĆ¢€™s attic. They were among the 326 guns seized from the streets this year, he said.

"Our strategy," he said, "will continue to evolve."

So have no worries Mate. As long as someone doesn't want to Rape or Kill you, things are looking better. Yes, you do not have to worry about you house being broken into, or your car stolen. Just Raped, Killed, and your House set on fire. Ah, all is well. {Laughing}
