Analysis Of Obama's Obamacare Speech To Congress 090909

Can all be summed up in one paragraph.

Hey folks,

YES. I will post the transcript of Obama's Obamacare Speech he gave to Congress last night. Following that, I will also post the Fact Check that the Pro-Obama AP came out with. Yup, even THEY say he lied.

But I do not have to waste all that much time on this. It's pretty simple to explain. You can sum the whole thing up by saying this. Screw the American people, do want I am telling you to do. Pass Obamacare. It really IS just that simple.

But know this: I will not waste time with those who have made the calculation that it's better politics to kill this plan than to improve it.

There is NO improving Socialistic Healthcare. NONE. It NEEDS to be killed.

I won't stand by while the special interests use the same old tactics to keep things exactly the way they are. If you misrepresent what's in this plan, we will call you out.

No one is misrepresenting ANYTHING. We are READING what is in the plan. Black and white. We are telling the American people what YOU folks WROTE in it.

And I will not -- and I will not accept the status quo as a solution. Not this time. Not now.

Sorry, but the PEOPLE have the final say. NOT YOU.

Everyone in this room knows what will happen if we do nothing. Our deficit will grow.

Absolute LIE! Our deficit will grow to staggering levels if you PASS Obamacare.

More families will go bankrupt.

Thanks to your failed attempts at reviving the Economy. Even more will if you pass Obamacare, Cap and Tax, increase taxes all over the place, and keep spending as you have been.

More businesses will close.
Ditto.

More Americans will lose their coverage when they are sick and need it the most.

If we allow you to pass Obamacare.

And more will die as a result.

After Obamacare is passed, your RIGHT. More will die. And it will be the Government deciding who that is.

We know these things to be true.

Yes we do.

That is why we cannot fail. Because there are too many Americans counting on us to succeed -- the ones who suffer silently, and the ones who shared their stories with us at town halls, in e-mails, and in letters.

But you are not listening to those at the Townhalls and those sending you letters. The MAJORITY of Americans DO NOT WANT THIS! Then this.

I received one of those letters a few days ago. It was from our beloved friend and colleague, Ted Kennedy. He had written it back in May, shortly after he was told that his illness was terminal. He asked that it be delivered upon his death.

In it, he spoke about what a happy time his last months were, thanks to the love and support of family and friends, his wife, Vicki, his amazing children, who are all here tonight. And he expressed confidence that this would be the year that health care reform -- "that great unfinished business of our society," he called it -- would finally pass. He repeated the truth that health care is decisive for our future prosperity, but he also reminded me that "it concerns more than material things." "What we face," he wrote, "is above all a moral issue; at stake are not just the details of policy, but fundamental principles of social justice and the character of our country."

Just pathetic. Seriously pathetic. Using Ted Kennedy. "It's his dying wish to get this done." To bad NO ONE but the Rich would receive the care that Kennedy got under Obamacare. They would be told "You are to old. Sorry. The cost is to much without a big enough return. Here is a pain pill."

I understand how difficult this health care debate has been. I know that many in this country are deeply skeptical that government is looking out for them.

I repeat. The MAJORITY DO NOT WANT THIS. They KNOW what it is.

I understand that the politically safe move would be to kick the can further down the road -- to defer reform one more year, or one more election, or one more term.

Yes. Because anyone that Votes FOR this is OUT! Period.

But that is not what the moment calls for. That's not what we came here to do. We did not come to fear the future. We came here to shape it. I still believe we can act even when it's hard. I still believe -- I still believe that we can act when it's hard. I still believe we can replace acrimony with civility, and gridlock with progress. I still believe we can do great things, and that here and now we will meet history's test.

So again, "SCREW the American people. Get this done. You have to pass this because it is all about ME and MY Legacy. I do not care if you are being told to Vote against it. I do not care if you get Voted out. Get this done. I want it. I do not care what the American people want. They are to stupid to know what is good for them. DO THIS NOW!"

Then for the Religious folks out there, he wraps it up with this.

Because that's who we are. That is our calling. That is our character. Thank you, God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.

Sorry Barack, who we are? We are a FREE Country. We live and die based on our Freedoms. We are NOT a Fascist nor Socialist Country. We have no need of a Centralized Controlling Government. We have no need of a KING. You are not "The One" to change it. We will NOT accept a takeover of our beloved Country. America is the Greatest Country on the Planet, because we are free. We WILL remain that way. So it's NOT screw the American people Obama, it's SCREW YOU!
Peter

So Ted Kennedy wrote a letter. Doesn't that sound like the same malarkey we heard about Christopher Reeve?

"Two days before Reeve died, his name even surfaced as a surprise litmus test in the second presidential debate, when Sen. John Kerry cited Reeve while discussing stem-cell research. Reeve, says the senator, left him a voice-mail message. "He was very excited," says Kerry"

Even though Reeve was in a coma at that time.
