I'm almost starting to think that we need to call this a war. You spoke out. Let these people know CLEARLY where you stand on this issue. So loudly I might add that Obama actually said he was FOR Drilling.
On August 2, 2008, The Washington Times - Obama accepts offshore drilling reported it this way.
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama on Friday withdrew his opposition to additional offshore oil drilling, essentially embracing his rival's energy stance, which is credited in part with pumping up Sen. John McCain's poll numbers.
"My interest is in making sure we've got the kind of comprehensive energy policy that can bring down gas prices," Mr. Obama said in an interview with the Palm Beach Post.
"If, in order to get that passed, we have to compromise in terms of a careful, well-thought-out drilling strategy that was carefully circumscribed to avoid significant environmental damage - I don't want to be so rigid that we can't get something done."
To bad some in Congress has not gotten this message. Some are actively looking for ways to override, or create a back door, to shut those down those that supply us with what we need. A program to expand oil and gas drilling off the Alaska coast has been canceled by a federal appeals court because of environmental concerns.
A three-judge panel in the District of Columbia says the Bush administration's Interior Department failed to consider the offshore environmental impact and marine life before approving an oil and gas leasing program in the Beaufort, Bering, and Chukchi (CHOOK-chee) seas.
The seas are home to wildlife including polar bears, whales, seals, walruses and seabirds.
The appeals court ordered the Interior Department, now run by appointees of President Barack Obama, to analyze the areas to determine environmental damage risks before moving ahead with the program.
This is absolute BS folks. All this HAS been researched, and reported. There is NO danger here. All this is, is an attempt to shut it down before it even begins. It is also saying to the 53 percent of you who are for it, "Sorry, we have to pander to those that got us in power and those that {we think} will keep us there."
The American Petroleum Institute issued the following statement:
"The American Petroleum Institute is reviewing the implications of the federal appeal court’s decision vacating and remanding the 2007-2012 five-year leasing program.
It would be a disservice to all Americans - and a devastating blow to the economy - if this decision were to delay further the development of vital oil and natural gas resources.
America’s oil and natural gas industry is the backbone of the economy. Development in federal waters off the nation’s coast provides thousands of well-paying jobs, government revenues and the fuel needed to run America’s cars and factories, heat our homes and the feedstock needed to make the materials we use every day."
THEY DO NOT CARE! Obama also said that your electric bills would skyrocket under his plans. In essence, he said deal with it. But those in congress are not done with this yet. They have also gotten their buddies over at the EPA involved.
The Environmental Protection Agency has concluded that carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases are a danger to public health and welfare. It is the first step to regulating pollution linked to climate change.
I do not care what these people with clear agenda's declare. Nor should you. There is no science whatsoever that backs this up. NONE! Carbon Dioxide is a necessary byproduct. We NEED it. It is NOT a fictitious Greenhouse Gas and is NOT causing Global Warming.
Congressional sources told The Associated Press that EPA will announce its proposed finding Friday and begin a comment period before issuing a final ruling. The EPA also will say tailpipe emissions from motor vehicles contribute to climate change. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the finding hasn't been announced.
The action was prompted by a Supreme Court ruling two years that said greenhouse gases are pollutants under the Clean Air Act and must be regulated if found to be a human health danger.
So you see this has just been building and waiting. Now they have a President and Congress that can be bought. They are beholden to the Envionuts out there. They are beholden to the Kooks out there, but more importantly, they are USING all this for MORE power and control over you. Over your personal life. Over Private Industries. Over, well, EVERYTHING! “The proposed endangerment finding poses an endangerment to the American economy and to every American family. It could lead to greenhouse gas regulations under a law fundamentally ill-suited to addressing the challenge of global climate change. The regulations could impose complex, costly requirements on restaurants, colleges, schools, shopping malls, bakeries and many other businesses and institutions. The Clean Air Act was created to address local and regional air pollution, not the emission of carbon dioxide and other global greenhouse gases."
He is right you know. Not only this, but the entire national environmental policy was, and is, to protect the environment for future generations while interfering as little as possible with the efficiency of commerce or the liberty of the people and to limit inequity in who is burdened with environmental costs. That was the original intent. But as you can clearly see, it is no longer. They are actually doing the exact opposite
Now those that want power, control, and of course the money, are using this to grow government, and take over your private lives in the name of saving the planet. There IS NO CONSENSUS on Global Warming. There is no evidence that can be backed by REAL Science that there is even a threat. They have proven NOTHING. Not to mention, there is NO ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES as we speak.
They keep saying, well Obama does, that high energy costs are necessary to bring about change. That it will force people to seek and use Alternative energy. But there IS NONE. Switch to WHAT?
What does that Single Mom do to get back and forth to work, not being able to afford $4.00 a gallon gas, UNTIL someone can give her an alternative? What will MOST Americans do? I know Obama is a MILLIONAIRE, and most in Congress are Millionaires, and therefore they do not care about $4.00 a Gallon Gas prices, or "Skyrocketing Energy Costs." They can pay them. Well, if they DID pay them. Most are paid by YOU. The Tax payer. YOU pay their energy costs along with paying your own.
Now folks, this is starting to look more and more like a war with these anti-energy independent people. It is starting to look more and more like they are doing EVERYTHING in their power to say SCREW YOU! On this and many other things. So NOW is the time. Call, write, Email, Hell, visit them. Tell them enough is enough, you are mad as Hell, and you are not going to take it anymore.
