In THIS Day and Age?

You all know I love kids. Finally at the age of 36, I had my own. God blessed my Wife Laura and I with a Son. His name is Joshua {Which you all know as well} But I have many kids. Mostly, well, OK, all Girls. My Niece is more like my Daughter having helped raise her pretty much from Birth. {Her Dad is a dirt-bag in Prison} I have also helped raise and been part of other's and their kid's lives pretty much my whole life. "Uncle Pete" is still part of some of their lives.
I have who I call my adopted Daughter, who has since moved and is doing great on her own, and her Mom is doing great the last time we talked as well. Pretty much my Best Friend, the Mom and her went through a lot. From age nine, or so, I became "Uncle Pete." Now her, my Niece, and most of the others are all turning into very beautiful young Adults that are about to go off and live their lives. Although I'm not sure if my Niece is ready to let go of her Uncle Pete just quite yet.{Smile} Which is fine with me. So I understand how you Father's of Daughters out there feel.
But today is NOT what yesterday use to be. For Joshua, who will be 4 this year, and the Girls all turning Adult or close to it, times sure have changed. No longer can you simply say to your child, "Go out and play." and not see them again until Dinner Time. No longer is it safe to allow them to go off on their own, even in your own neighborhood. Don't believe me? Search "Pedophiles" in your local community. Most states have a place online that tell you EXECTLY where these low lifes live.

My one friend told me when she did the search, she found that someone that she allowed IN HER HOUSE, was a registered Sex Offender. Turns out that he liked pulling up to girls walking down the street to ask them for directions, while Naked. He was arrested when he actually got out of the car in front of two 13 year olds and a Crossing Guard that he did not see at the time.
How did she get this information? Her other friend was the Mother of one of the Girls. When she told her what she found on line and showed her friend the picture, her friend recognized him right away.
So in this day and age, where not only little Girls, but some Boys as well, are disappearing, being molested, Raped, and Murdered, this is NOT the time to throw your kids out of the car and drive off. Hell, even Female Teachers are being arrested for sex with 12 year olds. You can not be one hundred percent confident about just sending your kids to school. Remember the Gym Teacher that was videoing the Girls locker room? So you really think that it's a good idea to throw your Pre-Teen Girls out of the car in the middle of a shopping district three miles from home? A shopping District where there is more than a reasonable assumption that is a hunting ground for these animals? They go to where the Girls are.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Usually, it's an empty threat: "If you kids don't stop fighting, I'm going to stop this car right now and leave you here!" But a mother from an upper-crust New York suburb went through with it, ordering her battling 10- and 12-year-old daughters out of her car in White Plains' business district and driving off, police said Tuesday.
She did it. She was arrested and charge with Child Endangerment.
Police would not say if Primoff ever returned to look for the girls, but they said, without explaining how, that the 12-year-old eventually caught up with the mother. The 10-year-old was found by a "Good Samaritan" on the street, upset and emotional about losing her mother, police said.
The girl gave police her mother's name and their address in well-to-do Scarsdale, and they asked Scarsdale police to check Primoff's $2 million house. Shortly afterward, Primoff called Scarsdale police from home to say the 10-year-old was missing, said Scarsdale Detective Lt. Bryant Clark.
He directed her to White Plains police headquarters, where she was arrested.
Dr. Richard Gersh, director of psychiatric services at the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services in Manhattan, said Primoff's behavior was not appropriate.
"It is a traumatic situation for a child to be abandoned by a parent like that. You can imagine what emotional issues might arise," he said.

White Plains City Judge Barbara Leak has modified a temporary order of protection against 45-year-old Madlyn Primoff (PRIM'-ahf).
Her lawyer, Vincent Briccetti (brih-SET'-ee), says Primoff is no longer barred from living or talking with her 10- and 12-year-old daughters.
Primoff has pleaded not guilty to child endangerment. Police say the upset 10-year-old was found Sunday on a White Plains street.
A police report says the mother ordered both girls out of the car and drove off. They were three miles from their home in Scarsdale.
The order of protection was modified Tuesday.
OK. So a bonehead move? Yup. A moment in stupidity? Yup. Is this Mother an Idiot? Without a doubt. She got lucky. Actually, perhaps the Girls had someone looking over them. They are the ones that got "lucky" here.
Congratulations Madlyn Primoff, for not taking into account what could have, and thankfully didn't, happen, you ARE the Idiot of the Week. Since you can now live with your Daughters again, so you better be giving them the biggest hugs you can possibly muster. Apologizing to them about 100 times, "I will not put you in danger again." may be worth while as well.
