Both DHS Reports Posted, You Decide

As promised, here is my take.

Hey folks,

As I promised to some of my more Liberal friends out there, here is the Left Wing Extremist Warning Report filed by the Department of Homeland Security and the one about what they declare to be Right Wing Extremists, side by side. Please take a few minutes and read BOTH reports, then YOU decide for yourself.

Here is the way I see this.

The title does contain the phrase "Left Wing Extremists." As does the one creating all the uproar "Right Wing Extremist." But that is where the stop being similar. Oh, and by the way to my Liberal friends out there that have NOT read the report, just go by what the Kooky Left Bloggers and Media have said about it, the DATE on the Right Wing one is 7 April 2009, one week before the planned Tea Parties. Sorry, Bush is not the one that requested this one. The date on the Left Wing one IS January, but not this one. Sorry.

Then you have the vast difference between the two. The Left is talking about REAL Terrorist and Extremist Groups that have and plan on once again committing acts of terror and crimes against private companies and individuals. The give SPECIFICS and FACTS to back up their warnings.

the Right one? The Right one is filled with generalities and assumptions. It signals out one individual and attempts to say that because of him, their is a treat from ALL returning Vets, and because, in their view, the Right is nothing more than Hate filled, Racist, Bigoted, Chauvinistic, Homophobes, they will recruit these Vets and this will threaten our country. You do not see anything even close to this:

"The DHS/Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) has no specific information that domestic rightwing* terrorists are currently planning acts of violence, but rightwing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on their fears about several emergent issues. The economic downturn and the election of the first African American president present unique drivers for rightwing radicalization and recruitment."

No specific information, may be, ETC.

Nor do you see this.

"Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning."

You bunch of Racists you.

"The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks."

Again, because the Almighty Obama wants to do what they see as the "right thing", these Racist MAY recruit Military Vets. {Sigh} Then THIS.

"Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."

Of course they want to be able to "BROADLY DIVIDE" Right Wing People, AKA Conseritives, into Hate Groups and Anti Obama. This way they can attempt to control them and attempt to silence they opposition.

"rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority," That is why we have a Constitution. "rejecting government authority entirely." If they are wrong, then YES. Again, this is why we have a Constitution. "It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."

So if you are Pro-life, you may be a Right Wing Extremist? If you are anti AMNESY, you may be a Right Wing Extremist?

No folks, I was hoping that the reports were similar to put to rest my friend's fear and that anger that this Right Wing Report, put out right before the scheduled Tea Parties, was and continues to cause. I was hoping that they would be similar in there threat assessments. But they are not.

It is clear that one talks about real extreme groups, the attacks and plans of attacks they are actually planing, and the other is a tool of suppression. So there you have it folks. Both reports. posted one after the other. Read them, and you decide.
Peter
