 Flu Pathology
Health and Science for Sunday 112909

Hey folks,

So now that you may be starting to recover from all that Turkey and sides, you may be ready to getting back to eating everyday food. Some of you just ordered Pizza last night. {Smile} I did. But when selected "What's for Dinner" one of the things you may want to consider is that the "WHAT" can be important.

Our new friends over at Fluwiki.com have a great piece. It's by, well OK, I have no idea, but it's entitled The Natural way to be Healthy. Here it is.

In order to prevent against the flu, you should do more than just practice good hygiene. Every aspect of you life should be help in accordance with preventing from getting ill. Because even the simplest illness can lead to complication an ultimately end in something worse.

A well balanced diet and keeping up with your nutrition should be a daily endeavor that will help to ensure your health and keep you from coming down with an illness. Most doctors recommend that their patients should take supplements made from all natural products that have been fermented. The majority of your immune system is found in your gastrointestinal tract. And a healthy upkeep of your intestinal bacteria is vital to helping our bodily defenses function in the way they are supposed to.

In fact many times you can link any of your past ailments to the origin of where you illness started, and you undoubtedly you will see that your illness originated in your gastrointestinal tract.

Key supplements that will help to strengthen your immune system are the following:

Probiotics: these supplements will improve your body’s ability to fight infection.

Mushroom Blends: certain times of mushroom blend supplements enhance the immune component activity of your cells. These mushroom blends are even more effective if they are paired with a health dose of probiotics.

Cod Liver Oil: Many studies indicate that high omega-3 fatty acid supplements help to regulate your immune system’s response to any type of illness. Cod Liver Oil is also one of the best sources of vitamins A and D. Vitamin A is a vital component of post illness recovery, because most of the time if you have an illness, your Vitamin A is severely lessened, so you must try to rebuild that component on your immune system.

Vitamin A has also been found to manage your viral conditions, but be weary high doses of Vitamin A for long periods of time can be toxic, a medical doctor should be consulted before committing to taking a regular dose of Vitamin A.

Coconut Oil: In its simplest form, coconut oil has been found to be anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-monolaurin. It has been found to destroy viruses such as influenza, therefore healthy doses of coconut oil will prevent you from coming down with an illness.

Whole Food Supplements: Herb and spice extracts have been used for thousands of years. These can include: goldenseal, elderberry, garlic, ginger, oregano, oregano, and horseradish. Most of these are household items, and can be used without limit. Formulas that use a combination of supplements have been proven to be most effective.

Vitamin C Supplements: This is probably one of the best supplements you can take to bolster a healthy immune system. If you feel the symptoms of a cold coming on, it is most effective if taking 24 hours before you feel the full-swing symptoms of an illness. To ensure a strong immune system, be sure to take vitamin C supplements as often as everyday. Vitamin C is safe to take in large doses, and can be found in most fruit and vegetables as well.

If you do not like taking excessive numbers of pills, then try to incorporate any of the following into your cooking. Not only will it help prevent you from coming down with an illness, but you will also “spice up” your cooking.

Now any of you that have known me for any length of time, KNOW that I have always said, and will always say, I eat what I want. All these studies that come out every year, always seem to contradict themselves all the time. Coffee bad, good, bad. Red Wine, good, bad, good, ETC. However, FACTS and TRUTH, are FACTS and TRUTH.

It is TRUE that an Apple is better for you than say a Chocolate Bar. A Banana is better than a bag of chips. Etc. So do not misunderstand me here. I understand and DO try to eat healthy. I DO take Vitamin C at the first signs of me getting a Cold. It WORKS. But at the same time, I understand everything in moderation.

It is true, the healthier you eat, the healthier you will be. Try it, you may find you like it. I GUARANTEE you will feel better at the same time.
