Circle K Gives Back

From the Energy Front 110309

Hey folks,

OK. I do have to be honest here. I love Circle K. I spend a lot of time there when I am out and about. Everyone in a few of there locations KNOW me. They know when they see me pull up that I will be getting some Hazelnut Coffee, so they leave the counter and go to make me a fresh pot. I literally have to wait 5 minutes for it to stop brewing, but it is ALWAYS as fresh as you can get it.

I find the locations that they have in the areas I travel daily convenient. I also love their wide selections of beverages and even their Hot Dogs and other fast food that you can grab on the go. Their Gas prices seem to be pretty cheap compared to some others in the areas they are in as well. They offer a wide range of Gas Brands, depending on the location you are at. 76®, Shell, Marathon, BP, Citgo, and Circle K. Yes. I love Circle K. With all that, the number one reason? Their Customer Service.

Well, it turns out that it is not JUST their Customer Service that makes them stand out, but their Community Service as well. Here is something I did NOT know.

Circle K Aces High Golf Tournament - Furthering Life without Limits for People with Disabilities

PHOENIX, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Central Arizona has an extraordinary corporate partner in Circle K. UCP has been the beneficiary of Circle K's community involvement for over twenty-five years. Locally and nationally Circle K has remained the largest corporate sponsor for the organization that provides comprehensive programming to over 3,000 children and adults with various disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, developmental delays and learning disabilities.

In a time of economic uncertainty, Circle K and their business partners have continued to rise to the occasion for a great cause. On October 5th and 6th, Circle K hosted the 7th Annual Aces High Golf Tournament and Silent Auction Reception in Las Vegas, benefitting UCP of Central Arizona. The event was a huge success with gross revenue of $481,369. The success of this event in an unpredictable market goes to show the level of commitment of Circle K and their business partners to giving back to the community, specifically in creating opportunities for children and adults with disabilities.

The event proceeds are above and beyond the funds raised by Circle K's Arizona Region on a daily basis through in-store canister collections. In 2008, over $2.6 million was raised in Circle K's Arizona and Nevada stores by their employees for UCP of Central Arizona, as well as UCP affiliates representing Las Vegas and Southern Arizona. At the current rate, 2009 collections are expected to reach nearly $3 million. UCP of Central Arizona's Executive Director Dan Rossi says, "We are extremely grateful to have a corporate partner like Circle K. Their support touches every aspect of our programming. Without the community support we receive from donors and corporate supporters, such as Circle K, we would not have the ability to touch as many lives as we do."

UCP of Central Arizona is an affiliate of one of the nation's largest 501(c) 3 health charities. Since 1952, UCP of Central Arizona has provided therapies, independent living services, inclusive and integrated educational based programs, innovative social opportunities and basic research.

They just keep earning my loyalties on a daily bases. I encourage you, the next time you are out and about, if you pass by a Circle K, don't. Stop in a see for yourself. You may be surprised at the difference.
