McCain Concise, Obama Elusive and Patronizing

McCain and Obama On Faith Based Issues

Hey folks,

Happy Monday to you. As a side note, to all my friends in South Florida, get ready. Fay is on her way. The latest track is that here in South Florida, we may get a little wind and rain, but nothing really bad. But PLEASE get ready just in case.

Now to the Candidates. How many of you saw the Faith Forum with Obama and McCain at the Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California? You can get the transcript of it at the Church's Website. It was hosted by Pastor Rick Warren.

I dd not see it, but I HAVE read the transcripts and seen countless news stories on it. One thing that is COMPLETELY Clear is that we now KNOW were McCain stands. What he truly believes. Obama?

Truth is, McCain was clear, concise, and seemed comfortable answering the Faith Based questions. Obama? Elusive and patronizing. Some examples. Talking about Evil.

“Should we ignore it, negotiate with it, contain it or defeat it?” the pastor asked.

“Defeat it,” McCain said without flinching. Then he went on to say that Evil "must be defeated." He talked about those that are trying to kill us and called al-Qaeda’s use of a mentally disabled suicide bomber last year as an example of “pure evil.”

Obama? He said this. “Evil does exist,” He stepped out a bit and EVEN said this“I think it has to be confronted. It has to be confronted squarely and one of the things that I strongly believe is that, you know, we are not going to, as individuals erase evil from the world. That is God’s task. but we can be soldiers in that process and we can confront it when we see it.”

That is GREAT. Way to go Obama. We are with you. YES!, uh, wait. He then said this.

“The one thing that I think is very important is for us to have some humility in how we approach the issue of confronting evil, but you know a lot of evil has been perpetrated based on the claim that we were trying to confront evil. Just because we think our intentions are good doesn’t always mean that we’re going to be doing good.”

{Sigh} I was excited there for a second. I thought maybe the Messiah GOT IT. I thought maybe sitting in that church of his for the past twenty years he may understand. But then this. Same old Liberal Bunk. Same old Obama. WE are evil. ETC.

On Abortion? Again McCain CLEAR.

Asked at what point he believes life begins, McCain immediately said: “At the moment of conception.”

“I will be a pro-life president and this presidency will have pro-life policies,” he said, after receiving thunderous applause.

Obama, rather, said answering that question would be “above my pay grade.”

Above my pay grade? Can you say he doesn't have the kahunas to answer the question? There were moans after this answer, but I guess he thought that the moans were better than getting booed for being honest.

Obama fought against the ban on LATE Term Abortions. Worse yet, he fought against a bill that would PROTECT babies that were failed attempts of late term abortions. Babies born alive and left to die. On March 30, 2001, he argued this on the floor of the Illinois State Senate.

"Number one, whenever we define a preventable fetus as a person that is protected by the equal protection clause or other elements in the Constitution, what we are saying is, in fact, they are persons entitled to the kinds of protections that would be provided to a,,a child, a nine month old, that was delivered to term. That determination then, essentially, if it were accepted by a court, would forbid abortions to take place. I mean it,,it,,would bar abortions, because the equal protection clause does not allow someone to kill a child."

Of course he couldn't be honest and say, "well, I believe life begins whenever the Mother decides it does." Now he says he would limit abortions in late stages of pregnancy, but we know where he stands on this.

When asked about Gay Marriage. Again, McCain. Clear. Concise.

“A union is between man and woman — between one man and one woman,” but added “that doesn’t mean people can’t enter into legal agreements.”

Obama? Well, he supports Gay Unions, would not support a Constitutional Ban, but he would leave it up to the States. {Laughing}

They both admitted to short comings. McCain his marriage. Obama Drugs and Alcohol.

America's?

Obama said the greatest moral failing of America is its inattention to the disadvantaged. Quoting scripture, he said the line that “whatever you do for the least of my brother you do for me” should apply to poverty, racism and sexism.

“There’s a pervasive sense I think that this country, as wealthy and powerful as we are, still don’t spend enough time thinking about the least of these,” he said.

Yup. America is evil because of "White Man's Greed." Remember that little quote from his book?

"It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks’ greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere…That’s the world! On which hope sits!"

McCain sounded more like JFK on this one. Talking about individuals, NOT Government, he said, we should “devote ourselves to causes greater than our self-interests.” Kind of like "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

I love this one though. We have two people running for the most powerful office in the world. Hand on the button so to speak. A War going on. All kinds of instabiltiy. Who are three wise people that the two candidates would seek advise from.

McCain? Gen. David Petreaus, head of U.S. troops in Iraq; U.S. Rep. and veteran civil rights leader John Lewis, D-Ga.; and former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, a top adviser to his campaign.

So a foreign policy and War expert {If there is such a thing}, and two Domestic experts.

Obama? His wife, Michelle; his maternal grandmother, who lives in Hawaii; and, not limiting himself to only a third, named several Democratic and Republican lawmakers.

Well that really answered that. We all know where his wife stands on the country. He threw his Grandmother under the bus as a racist, and could not give an answer to the third.

Yes folks, this Faith Forum was an eye opener. We know where McCain Stands. Obama? Well, we know he is Obama.
