IWA For Sunday 050607

Hey folks,

It’s Sunday! Time for the IWA. This week? I have to give it to someone that, like in a lot of cases, should have known better, but for whatever reason, is somewhat shocked at the outcome.

We just had our GOP version of a press conference, I mean debate, and it was nothing like the Dems. This one filled with completely insane questions. The questions were not so much to seek the views of those running for the GOP nomination, but rather directed at the entire Republican party. They were meant to feed into stereo types of how they view ANY Republican. There were a lot of stupid questions, but the IWA winner this week, I think asked the stupidest.

First, according to Newsbusters.org -Silly Questions Abound in First GOP Debate

The "Interactive Rounds" at the Republican presidential debate, from the Ronald Reagan Library in California and carried live on MSNBC, became an opportunity to raise hostile questions from a left-wing agenda or meant to embarrass the candidates (what's the difference between Shia and Sunni? How many have been killed or injured in Iraq? etc.)

Some of the other questions VandeHei chose to ask during the same round (about 25 minutes into the debate) in which he posed the whopper to Romney:

To Rudy Giuliani, "Bradley Winter of New York would like to know if there's anything you learned, or regret, during your time as Mayor in your dealings with the African-American community?"

Because we all know that Republicans and Conservatives are Racists.

To Mike Huckabee, "Thousands of reputable scientists have concluded, with almost certainty, that human activity is responsible for the warming of the Earth. Do you believe global warming exists?"

Because we all know that if you chose to believe the truth, THERE IS NO GLOBAL WARMING, you are an evil person because you want to destroy the planet.

Later, to Tom Tancredo: "Will you work to protect women's rights, as in fair wages and reproductive choice?"

Abortion is a simple medical procedure, not murder. The Republicans and Conservatives hate women.

Moderator Chris Matthews, the long-time Democratic operative-turned journalist, also asked his fair share of ridiculous questions. He went after favorite target Scooter Libby asking, bizarrely, whether the former vice presidential aide deserved a pardon (he does not according to Matthews). Matthews also wondered if the candidates like Karl Rove.

VandeHei's question about Islam was a true stump-the-candidate moment which Giuliani handled well. The tables were turned later in the debate when Matthews wrongly tried to correct Romney after the latter mentioned altered nuclear transfer as an alternative to fetal stem cells. Matthews appeared to think the former Massachusetts governor was talking about nuclear energy.

Rush put up more of these idiotic questions on his site Friday.

This is a montage of the moderators, Jim VandeHei of The Politico, John Harris from The Politico, they were cosponsors, and Chris Matthews posing questions to the candidates.

MATHEWS: Do you think Scooter Libby should be pardoned?

Because we know that Republicans and Conservatives live in a "Culture of Corruption." Unlike their Democratic counterparts that operate in an honest and open mode of governing. {Sigh}

HARRIS: Would you have fired Don Rumsfeld before last November?

Corruption again.

VANDEHEI: What do you dislike most about America?

"What do you dislike most about America?" You see folks, Liberals HATE America. They hate and feel guilty that we are who we are. So if you were to ask this of a Liberal, it would be an honest question. You hate America, so what is it that you hate the most? But that is not an honest question to a Republican. They do not understand the question and find it bizarre. They do not dislike America. They love America.

MATHEWS: Is Karl Rove your friend? Would you employ Karl Rove?

Corruption again.

HARRIS: Jack Abramoff, Mark Foley, Duke Cunningham in prison for bribes, FBI raids of two Republican members of Congress, what's with your party and all this corruption?

Speaks for itself.

MATHEWS: Let me ask you a question which has grabbed a lot of Americans personally, the Terri Schiavo case.

Terri Schiavo? Did any of the Democrats get that? Or any of these questions?

VANDEHEI: Did you watch Algore's environmental documentary, An Inconvenient Truth?

{Laughing} Al Gore’s movie? Again, speaks for itself.

But this is the reason theat Chris Matthews get’s the IWA. Along with a few other completely idiotic questions, he asked this.

MATHEWS: Seriously, would it be good for America to have Bill Clinton back living in the White House?

They are still fighting the 2000 elections. They are still fighting Bush. Bush is NOT running. If Bill Clinton get’s back in the White House, it will NOT be him running the show. Although Mrs. Bill Clinton DID say she would make him "Embassador to the World." That in no way, would be good for the country.

Congratulations Chris Matthews, for conducting such a poor "debate," then not even understanding why people are laughing at you, you ARE the Idiot of the Week. Now go and tell everyone how un-bias you are.

Personally I think that Chris Matthews is a moron. I saw on ETP where someone thought that he was the perfect moderator for the Republican debate but from what I have seen of his show it is just another foul mouthed democrat who has engaged in the same tactics that he accuses the republicans of doing.

In fact recently I saw him on Utube talking to Michell Malkin and he was cutting her off and being nasty and unlike Anne Coulter Michelle tries to be civil.

Anne will get down and dirty with such folks as Matthews when he spews his nonsense and one sided story of events where the facts do not matter.

Did you notice that none of t he usual moonbats even bothere3d to encourage your post about the solders and woodg8 had even discouraged it?

Woodg8 claims to have been a soldier but he usually is against anything about the soldiers while claiming to support them

I agree with you Sam. He is. The funny thing is they always complain about people like O'Reilly for doing the same thing. Yet, when it's one of theirs, he is great.

As for ETP. I noticed that there are some that just go around Ding everyone. I don't get it. I never D anyone, no matter how insane their post may be. But that's just me. I think everyone's opnion matters and should have the chance to be seen and commented on by the most people as possibile. I bet you this, if people were not Ding people. More people would post.
