Pelosi Gone Wild

Hey folks

Happy Good Friday to those who observe.

Pelosi is out of control. I’m not going to repeat all the things I have been telling you this past week, but she truly believes that SHE is President. Or at least co-President. She and the rest of the LWL leadership have done everything they can to "get Bush." They attempt to steal the title Commander and Chief from Bush. Micro-manage the war. Set time tables for our surrender. Give our enemies the reassurance that all they have to do is wait. Travel around the world to meet with our enemies, and do NOTHING for this country.

Now, as you well know, it seems Pelosi has lost it. She has gone wild. If you look at the pictures, you see her with a big smile and seemingly loving every second of the time she is spending with some of America’s biggest enemies. Yes, she is LOVING the spotlight. The problem is though, she has NO power in foreign policy. None. Our enemies know this. The world leaders know this. They see her as a joke. They will play with her, but she can do nothing for them. She does not speak for America, or the President. She is to ignorant to know she is nothing but a tool for some of their propaganda.

It seems that she has shown even more arrogance and ignorance yesterday. So much so that she had to be slapped down and put into her place by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. From the Washington Post -Pratfall in Damascus, Nancy Pelosi's foolish shuttle diplomacy.

HOUSE SPEAKER Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) offered an excellent demonstration yesterday of why members of Congress should not attempt to supplant the secretary of state when traveling abroad. After a meeting with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad in Damascus, Ms. Pelosi announced that she had delivered a message from Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that "Israel was ready to engage in peace talks" with Syria. What's more, she added, Mr. Assad was ready to "resume the peace process" as well. Having announced this seeming diplomatic breakthrough, Ms. Pelosi suggested that her Kissingerian shuttle diplomacy was just getting started. "We expressed our interest in using our good offices in promoting peace between Israel and Syria," she said.

Only one problem: The Israeli prime minister entrusted Ms. Pelosi with no such message. "What was communicated to the U.S. House Speaker does not contain any change in the policies of Israel," said a statement quickly issued by the prime minister's office. In fact, Mr. Olmert told Ms. Pelosi that "a number of Senate and House members who recently visited Damascus received the impression that despite the declarations of Bashar Assad, there is no change in the position of his country regarding a possible peace process with Israel." In other words, Ms. Pelosi not only misrepresented Israel's position but was virtually alone in failing to discern that Mr. Assad's words were mere propaganda.

She did it designedly to make her seem important and seem more relevant than President Bush. For someone who tries to say she is pro- Israel, this was a bone head move.

Never mind that that statement is ludicrous: As any diplomat with knowledge of the region could have told Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Assad is a corrupt thug whose overriding priority at the moment is not peace with Israel but heading off U.N. charges that he orchestrated the murder of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri. The really striking development here is the attempt by a Democratic congressional leader to substitute her own foreign policy for that of a sitting Republican president. Two weeks ago Ms. Pelosi rammed legislation through the House of Representatives that would strip Mr. Bush of his authority as commander in chief to manage troop movements in Iraq. Now she is attempting to introduce a new Middle East policy that directly conflicts with that of the president. We have found much to criticize in Mr. Bush's military strategy and regional diplomacy. But Ms. Pelosi's attempt to establish a shadow presidency is not only counterproductive, it is foolish.

Then you have Vice president Cheney go on the Rush Limbaugh show. Here is the exchange about Pelosi.

RUSH: A couple of quick more things before you have to go. What's the administration's view today, what's the emotion, what are you thinking about Speaker Pelosi's trip to the Middle East, specifically the conveyance of the incorrect message to Bashar Assad in Syria about peace talks with Israel?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, it's not helpful. I made it clear earlier that I thought this created difficulties, if I can put it in a gentle form. Obviously, she's the speaker of the House and ought to travel to foreign nations and ought to conduct visits.

RUSH: She's not entitled to make her own foreign policy, is she?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: She's not entitled to make policy. She, in this particular case, by going to Damascus at this stage it serves to reinforce, if you will, and reward Bashar Assad for his bad behavior. He's done all kinds of things that are not in the interests of the United States, including allowing Syria to be an area from which attacks are launched against our people inside Iraq. He obviously was heavily involved, right now, in supporting an effort by Hezbollah to try to topple the government in Lebanon. This is a bad actor, and until he changes his behavior he should not be rewarded about visits by the speaker of the House of Representatives.

RUSH: Well, how much damage has she done by conveying to Assad that Israel is ready for peace talks when Israel is not ready for peace talks as Syria is currently constituted?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, I think, clearly, she stimulated a reaction out of the Israeli. Prime Minister Olmert immediately made it clear that she was not authorized to make any such offer to Bashir Assad. Among other things, of course, the Syrians have not renounced their support for terror. The major terrorist organizations that are dedicated to the destruction of Israel, such as Hamas, are headquartered in Damascus, Syria. It was a non-statement, a nonsensical statement. It didn't make any sense at all that she would suggest that those talks could go forward as long as the Syrians conducted themselves as a prime state sponsor of terror.

RUSH: You are a reserved individual --

THE VICE PRESIDENT: (chuckles)

RUSH: -- and very professional, and you've been doing this a long time, but I'm asking this for people in my audience as well as me. How do you feel when this...? Don't you get enraged when this kind of thing happens?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: (chuckles) Well, I've been around a long time. I'm obviously disappointed. I think it is, in fact, bad behavior on her part. I wish she hadn't done it, but she is the speaker of the House, and fortunately I think the various parties involved recognize she doesn't speak for the United States in those circumstances. She doesn't represent the administration. The president is the one that conducts foreign policy, not the speaker of the House.

Now of course Pelosi is attempting to backpedal faster than the biggest turkey on Thanksgiving morning, because she just showed how stupid she really is. According to the AP, Cheney accuses Pelosi of "bad behavior" in Syria

"The tough and serious message the speaker relayed was that, in order for Israel to engage in talks with Syria, the Syrian government must eliminate its links with extremist elements, including Hamas and Hezbollah," Daly said, referring to the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, and Lebanon's Hezbollah, which Israel fought in a war last year.

No she didn’t. She is lying to you. She truly thought, like most Liberals, all they have to do is go talk to these people and they will play nice. They {liberals} see not evil. Their little minds cannot comprehend that there are things in this world bigger than them. Things that are VERY real. Things that see these ignorant people as insignificant, yet useful pawns, in their quest for their overall goals.

Nancy Pelosi is out of control. But the more she does, the more everyone is getting to see her, for who she truly is.

Attorney General Gonzales may file charges against Speaker of the House Pelosi for violating her oath of office. In doing so she has usurped the President's Constitutional duties in making foreign policy in time of war.

A Congressional investigation should be immediately called bringing the legislators back to Washington and try Ms. Pelosi for crimes against the American people.

It also appears that Hillary Clinton is very upset at being upstaged during her expensive obfuscations to the Amreican people.

Pelosi should be immediately removed from office and held in federal custody.

Hey Iysis,

Welcome to the OPN

I agree with you one hundred percent. The Bush Administration, actually ANY Administration, should do something to ANY Speaker conducting themselves in this manner. Pelosi is COMPLETELY out of control and completely over the line. This is no longer just giving the President a hard time because they do not like him, this is now falling under un-Constitutional actions.

This is no longer about anti-war stance, this is about attempting to make the Presidency null and void. This is attempting to take over the country in the time of war, and hand our troops to the enemy. This is NOW illegal activity to the highest degree. No one is to blame for Pelosi’s actions but Pelosi. The rest of the LWL that have taken over the once Democratic party should be looked at as well.

Now will any of this happen? I doubt it. I do not think the Bush Administration has it in them. But they most definitely should be looking into something to stop Pelosi before she does irreparable damage to this country.

As for the Hillary thing, {Laughing} that just makes me laugh. Can you imagine if nothing is done with Pelosi, and by some kind of dark miracle, Hillary becomes President? {I doubt if she will even get the nomination} Can you imagine President Clinton vs Speaker Pelosi? Make no mistake about it, if Pelosi was pulling this kind of thing with President Hillary, she WOULD have Pelosi locked up in a heartbeat. There can only be one Alpha female in government. No room for two. They eat their own. {Smile}
