The Excuse Foundation.

Hey folks,

Mark my words. Note the calender. 55 days away, the foundation is being laid. USATODAY has two stories about it, NPR is running a story on it. A bunch of local papers are as well today. What’s the story? Voting machine "glitches".

The funny thing is when you read these stories, you find that they are not actually talking about the machines. They are talking about the poorly trained staff that will be there to operate them. Would this not be people "glitches"?

So why are they talking about this 55 days out? Is it because they want to have the people trained better so when this most important day comes, we will be ready? Well, if so, they do not say that. They just talk about all the problems they are having. USATODAY has a graphic depicting when the voting machines were changed by year.

Notice Florida is the earliest.{Smile}

They are doing this to give the Democrats a way out. There is so much more talk about it not being so much of a guarantee anymore. They are getting nervous. They are still publically stating that it’s a "lock", but behind closed doors? This is a different story. From 9-11 to democratic committees admitting to wrong doing, the way they treated Lieberman, to the new Rasmussen Report

"Forty-five percent (45%) of American adults approve of the way that President Bush is performing his job. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove.

The President hasn't enjoyed a 45% approval rating since a couple of days in July. His ratings haven't been higher than 45% since February 22, 2006."

and

"Republican prospects for retaining the Senate received a boost yesterday in Rhode Island when Lincoln Chafee narrowly won his primary. While Chafee trails by two points in our most recent Rhode Island poll, he is at least competitive. Had Laffey won, the seat would have been shifted to the Democrats column in our Senate Balance of Power summary. In Maryland, the Democrats also nominated their strongest candidate. We will be polling in both of these states again soon. (see State-by-State Summary).

Rasmussen Reports now lists 49 seats as Republican or Leans Republican and 45 seats as Democrat or Leans Democrat. Six states are listed as Toss-Ups. The
Toss-Up states are Tennessee, New Jersey, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, and Rhode Island."

So is the Left coming out with plans and policies to counter this trend? Are they giving the American people an agenda to vote for? Nope. Of course not. They are laying a foundation for excuses as to why they do not win the House or Senate. We all know, it couldn’t possibly be their fault.
