Democrat Celebrate Cap and Trade Deal

From the Energy Front 051809

Hey folks,

This is such an important topic, to me, and every other American, yes that includes YOU, that I have decided to make it a normal Weekly Segment. "From the Energy Front" will start today and appear every Monday with updates and pertinent information in this growing war between THINKING, and truly concerned Americans, that seek Energy Independence, and those that seek to raise energy costs back to oppressive levels and keep us dependant on foreign sources.

The Democrats were celebrating this weekend on their new "compromise" in their Cap and Trade Quest. According to the San Francisco Chronicle - Committee reaches deal on cap-and-trade plan

Congressional leaders who support a new cap on greenhouse-gas emissions reached agreement on a plan Thursday to ease the burden it will impose on refiners, paving the way for a key House panel to vote on the climate-change proposal next week.

Enter the Waxman.

Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Los Angeles, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., signed off on the compromise with Texas Democrats Gene Green and Charles Gonzalez. The cornerstone of their deal was a commitment to donate 2 percent of valuable carbon dioxide emissions permits to refiners.

Well, isn't that nice of him?

The compromise on refiners could help Waxman and Markey steer their contentious climate-change measure through the 59-member Energy and Commerce Committee next week.

The measure also is buoyed by a new agreement among many committee Democrats on core parts of the bill, including a plan to freely give away more than 50 percent of those emission allowances to local electric-power distributors, trade-sensitive industries and automakers.

So this will do what? They want you to believe that this will help keep your costs down. However, this entire Cap and Trade SCHEME will cost jobs, skyrocket energy costs, and make some people rich. By the way, just like Carbon credit Offsets, it will do nothing to "help" the environment. More on that in a second.

"We are now one huge step toward creating a 100-year solution to the carbon problem ... that will protect consumers," Markey said.

A 100-year solution? Meaning once they put this in place, it will NOT be going anywhere in the long term regardless if the "Climate Change" is found to be no threat at all. I know, I know, some will argue "So what? It's still good to have a 'clean planet.' This will also help us free ourselves from Oil." WRONG. This will do nothing.

The Waxman-Markey legislation would impose a new "cap" on carbon-dioxide emissions. By 2020, the cap would be set at 17 percent below 2005 levels.

Under the so-called cap-and-trade plan, power plants, refiners and manufacturers could exceed the new limits by buying and exchanging emissions allowances on a new carbon-trading market.

You see folks, this is the insanity behind all this. What is truly insane is you folks out there that BUY this garbage. ONE MORE TIME:

I have a house. You have a house. You have three feet of water flooding your house. You pay me ten thousand dollars a foot, to claim three feet of space in my house that has no water, and you can say you are "water free." I make thirty grand, you feel good about being able to say you have no water, yet you are still wading around in three feet of water. It changes NOTHING in reality.

So let's pretend that "Climate Change" is man-made and bad. This Cap and Trade thing will do nothing. Nor does Carbon Credit Offsets. Companies and individuals that can afford it, or pass the cost onto YOU, will not CHANGE anything. Money will be passed around and YOU will pay the price. Nothing will change in reality. They will still "Pollute and the same levels, and then have a pass to say they are not polluting, because they are paying Al Gore millions, or the Government Billions, you pick up some of the cost, and business goes on as usual for those that can afford it. Meanwhile the single Mom has to decide what she can cut out of her already struggling budget to pay for gas to get to her two jobs. How does she pay her electric bill? How will she heat her home?

Back to the article.

Waxman and Markey were preparing late Thursday to unveil their new bill, reflecting the compromises with committee Democrats. Waxman said his Energy and Commerce Committee would begin voting on the legislation Monday, and he hopes to wrap up work before Memorial Day, when Congress takes a one-week recess.

With all 23 committee Republicans expected to vote no on the legislation, Waxman has been trying to shore up support for his bill among the panel's 36 Democrats. To prevail and get the legislation passed out of the energy committee, Waxman needs at least 30 of the lawmakers to back the legislation.

Green and Gonzalez said that with the changes aimed at helping refiners and other modifications, they expected to vote for the legislation next week.

Folks, this is NOT a good thing. This is insane. WE HAVE THE ANSWER to energy independence NOW right under our feet and off our shores. What does our friends over at API think?

The American Petroleum Institute issued the following statement today from President Jack Gerard regarding the Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade proposal:

“The House Energy and Commerce Committee has devoted significant effort to advance an ambitious plan to address the challenge of climate change. Unfortunately, while the proposal is meant to solve a serious environmental challenge and spur growth in our weak economy, its inequitable system of allocations will have a disproportionate adverse impact on consumers and producers of gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, crude oil and natural gas. Those who drive, fly or take the bus or train to work will shoulder a disproportionate burden and this must be rectified. Emission allowances will be distributed inequitably, ultimately imposing greater costs on consumers and producers of oil and gas.

According to independent studies, domestic production will decline, increasing reliance on imports. Experts predict the loss of U.S. jobs, including some of the six million related to oil and gas along with many others.

While the bill’s goals are admirable, the inequitable allocations would harm America’s economy and diminish our energy security. There is time to get this right. We need to look at all the consequences of the bill, consider the implications on ordinary Americans at a time of economic hardship and come up with an equitable plan that will address global climate change and improve, not weaken, our nation’s energy and economic security. We look forward to seeing further details of the legislation."

Now my friends over at API have to be a bit more politically correct than I do. I asked one of my friends over there what they thought of that letter by the White House Counsel ADMITTING that the EPA's decision to name CO2 a pollutant was nothing more than Politically driven lacking any Scientific Evidence whatsoever. They response to my question was logical to say the least. This one sentence basically says it all.

"The big question for the oil and natural gas industry is what will Congress do about climate change, not whether it exists."

I tell you that the end of the world is going to happen on Dec. 23, 2012. Because of this, I will now take 70 percent of your income to build a huge underground bunker to preserve the human race. It no longer really matters if I'm right or not. What matters is that I am taking 70 percent of your income. You can debate all day if I am nothing more than a kook, if I have the power to take your income, arguing the validity of my claim is futile.

These companies in the Energy Industry, ultimately have to do whatever the Kooks in Congress say. So they do not have the luxury of arguing facts or dispelling the farce that is Global Warming. They just have to find a why to deal with whatever the Kooks say.

YOU are the only ones that can do something about this. 2010 is coming fast. You can slow all this down. You have the power to hinder this massive movement toward Socialism and oppressive taxation. YOU have the power to vote these people out. YOU are the key. Get ready folks. Get educated. When the time comes, GO VOTE!

We already know who and what these people are. Just like we already know who and what Obama is. I hope that sooner or later, more and more people will come to see it as well. They are starting to, lets hope it is in time to DO something about it.
