FBI Investigating Foley,

Hey folks,

I said that there HAS to be more to this whole thing than just the Email that ex-Congressman Foley resigned over. I said there has to be an investigation. Well there is now.

According to the AP

"The FBI "is conducting an assessment to see if there's been a violation of federal law," FBI spokesman Richard Kolko said, declining to elaborate."

According to the AP,

"FBI cyber sleuths are looking into the text of some of the Foley messages, checking to see how many e-mails and instant electronic messages were sent and how many computers were used, according to a law enforcement official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.

The FBI also was trying to determine if any of the teenagers who received messages are willing to cooperate with the investigation, the official said.

Ironically, Foley, who is 52 and single, could be found to have violated a law that he helped to write as co-chairman of the Congressional Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus."

Now of course you have the usual suspect jumping all over this and blaming the entire party for Foley’s actions. Again, "conspiracies, coverups, and corruption" are the key words in attack after attack. People are printing supposed IM that are CLEARLY of a sexual nature. If this IM is actually from Foley to an underage boy, There would be NO need for an investigation. I also have not seen this IM anywhere else, so?

Like I said, if Foley is found to be guilty of breaking the law, he clearly needs to go to jail. As for the cover up? Like I told you yesterday,

"Hastert acknowledged that his staff had been made aware of concerns about what they termed "over-friendly" e-mails Foley had sent to the teenager — including one requesting his picture — in the fall of 2005, and that they referred the matter to the House clerk.

But Hastert said those e-mails were not viewed as "sexual in nature" and that he was not aware of "a different set of communications which were sexually explicit ... which Mr. Foley reportedly sent another former page or pages.""

What they KNEW about, they reported. No coverup here. Those they reported it to, said that the EMAILS, violated no laws, and the PARENTS of the kid in question, didn’t want the matter pursued. What exactly did they cover up?

Even one of the Presidents biggest attacker said,

"It really makes me nervous that they might have tried to cover this up," said Rep. John Murtha D-Pa., on ABC's "This Week," adding that already "the reputation of Congress under the Republican leadership is lower than used car salesmen."

"MIGHT HAVE
tried to cover it up." Maybe he is getting tired of sticking his foot in it. I’ve said this so many times because there are some who just do not get it. You cannot blame the entire Clinton Administration for the actions of one or a few. You cannot judge this Administration on one or a few. If Foley is FOUND guilty, someone in the Administration is FOUND to have known about Foley’s actions and tried to cover it up, then those need to pay. We need to focus on that. But to blame an entire party for the actions of one or a few, not only is simple politics, but it shows how simple your mind is. It shows how ignorant you are. Remember, any time you say EVERY, ALL, etc. are this or that, you are wrong right off the bat.

Here in lies the problem. They do not CARE what Foley actually did. All they care about it attacking the Administration, hence, attacking Bush, and getting into power. They couldn’t care less if Foley even went out and raped a kid. They want the Administration to pay for his actions. They should know by now, to be careful stating things as facts, before they are proven as facts.
