Pelosi Denied, GOP Fighting Back?
Hey folks,
I know I said I would not be in the office today. But old habits are hard to break. I got up this morning and without even thinking about it, found myself coming into the OPN office. Looks like a hand grenade went off in here. But the revamping is coming along. I looked over to the computer sitting on a temp desk, and it was calling my name. So? Seattle’s Best "Cinnabon" coffee has brewed, is in my cup, here I am. {Smile}
First to the whole flying Pelosi thing. Turns out that she has been denied. You remember she wanted a bigger jet? I even posted a picture of Air Force One. I said, "This is the plane she wants." {Laughing} I’m not the only one that thought of this,
"Just a month into the new Democratic majority, we are talking about the costs of an arrogance of office," said Republican Conference Chairman Adam Putnam of Florida at a briefing for reporters Tuesday. "The same week she is talking about fiscal responsibility, she is requesting a jumbo jet to taxi her back and forth from her district, something that is a major deviation from the previous speaker. Certainly, it is the interest of someone who is in the presidential succession to have access to a secure aircraft, but this is not a routine military charter flight. This is Air Force Three."
I raised the issue of "Global Warming."
"The jet that Pelosi has produces 10,000 pounds of carbon dioxide an hour, far more than the previous speaker used," said Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C. Pelosi's predecessor was Rep. Dennis Hastert, R-Ill.
Flying in a large Air Force plane, Rep. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., said, "appears to remove any spending controls from our operations and dramatically increases our impact on the environment especially climate change."
I saw an article, I wish I kept it now, that said that for this jet to fly one way, it would put more carbon dioxide in the air than driving a Hummer for a whole year. There and back? Two Hummers. You get the point.
So it has been denied. Even the President wasn’t blamed on this one. Speaker Pelosi defended him, and White House spokesman Tony Snow came out against the news about this whole thing. He said,

"This is a silly story and I think it's been unfair to the speaker."
No it hasn’t. It is simply pointing out the arrogance and ignorance of the Speaker. Along with pointing out the hypocrisies of both the LWL {Left Wing Looneys} and the GWCL {Global Warming Chicken Little crowd}.
If this had been a Republican, you KNOW what would have happened.
Talk about Republicans, seems that they had this conference. Seems that someone at the conference has lit a fire under them. They have a new strategy. Stop laying down and taking the insanity that seems to be ever increasingly coming from the left.
Challenged by strategists at last weekend's Baltimore retreat of House conservatives to strike more aggressively at Democratic leaders, GOP members today launched attacks on several fronts in a bid to highlight ethical flaws and confusion among Democrats.
Winning the major headline was the stepped-up criticism of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi demand for an Air Force jet, which the GOP has dubbed "Air Force Three," even as the White House defended her on the issue.

The House Republican Conference issued talking points, news stories, and a sample floor speech for members to read. The GOP also planned to launch a bid to expand voting rights on the House floor to representatives of all U.S. territories. Democrats support voting rights for Puerto Rico, so the GOP wants to get them on record giving voting rights in Congress to all territories, a move that could embarrass the Democratic leadership, which is likely to hear complaints about letting island lawmakers push for spending taxes in their territories and other issues that would affect the rest of the nation.
Of course they support voting rights for Puerto Rico. {Sigh}
The vote was suggested by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at last weekend's retreat of the Republican Study Committee.
"Gingrich said that it would be a huge opportunity for Republicans to hold Democrats accountable for letting U.S. territories have the same rights as U.S. citizens," said one leadership official. And other members would consider calling for an investigation into allegations the House Democratic leadership pushed to have U.S. Capitol Police refrain from interfering with protesters at a recent antiwar rally who sprayed graffiti on the Capitol steps.
"We're getting our footing back," said the Republican leadership official.
You should have never lost it in the first place. I understand that you wanted to "make nice" and work in a bipartisan way with the Democrats, but they are not, will not, working with you. All they care about is being in power. They want total control. They are liars. They said "bipartisan," they DO differently. Time to stand up and stop being the majority’s lap dog. But this statement shows a very sad fact. THIS is why they have rolled over until now. They have been afraid.
"The issues that the Democrats dealt with are anywhere from the coronation of the first female Democratic speaker to poll-tested issues," the aide said. "It was prudent ?? to pick battles wisely."
If you do not stand up for something, you will fall for anything. Yes, it IS just that simple.

Amazing that your lack of intelligence matches the child-like writing style.
Hey Kaylus,
Welcome to the OPN.
So your point of dis-agreement would be? You feel I’m incorrect in? You do not the green picture of Speaker Pelosi? Your facts to back up what you say are?
You see folks, THIS is true Liberal. No specifics, substance, or facts. Just a hit, run, and hide. Lob insults and run away, unable to actually have an intellectual exchange of thoughts or debate.
Hey, just between us folks, he / she, thinks they got me. They probably went and told their friends, “I really gave it to him.” {Sigh}
Your opinion has been heard here at the OPN Kaylus. Notice I did not just delete it, reject it, nor alter it. Too bad you felt the need to hit and run, instead of actually debating your points. Here at the OPN, EVERY opinion matters, no matter how ignorant or insane it may be.
Visit anytime.

Did you see where woodg8 on ETP took the opportunity of Anna Nicole Smith's death to use that as an excuse to blast the president?
And yet he claims that he is not a democrat along with the many others on the site who will not define themselves as democrats.
When someone such as yourself or others post any thing it is rare we even get read by these moonbats who want us to believe that they are fair in their judgements.
When I see left wing "proofs" coming from these dopes all the time it is any wonder that I think they are as I call them moonbats.
Notice that there is no criticism over William Arkin's sorry excuse for his criticism of soldiers. He must be some kind of hero for these moonbats.
Hey Sam,
Yes I cought that.
Just like our friend hey. Most hit and run. They SAY they never read it, but you know they do. They just do not have the talking points yet to respond. But deny it all they want, they are reading.
I heard the "Factor" was going after NBC and this idiot {William Arkin} pretty hard. I do not know if he will actually acomplish anything, but I learned a while ago, never say never.
By the way, I love "Moonbat" {Smile}
Talk to you soon.
