You all made Joshua's Birthday Party GREAT!

Hey folks,

Happy Hump Day to ya. No breaking news. No deal on the Debt. I want to take a few minutes to answer a question that some of you have posed. How was Josh's Birthday Bash? I want to take this time to sincerely THANK all of those of you who attended Joshua's Sixth Birthday Party. A VERY special Thank You to all of you who attended this past Saturday at 2pm at Indian River park. I think a fun time was had by all. We had friends and Family, met some new Friends, and Joshua made out like a little Bandit. He got Lego, well, EVERYTHING. He's pretty much been building ever since.

We chose Indian River park for a few reasons. First, it is absolutely gorgeous. It really is. They host a LOT of Weddings there for the sheer beauty and surroundings. Second, of course, the Fountain. It costs a little bit to have the Pavilion right there next to the Fountain, but the Kiddies LOVE the Fountain. They can run around through it with Water shooting up all over the place. A good way to cool off on a hot day. Best part, unless you are having a party, it's FREE.

Laura made all the food, except the Pizza. That we ordered out. She made Jerk Chicken, Chicken Curry, Black Eyed Pea Curry, Rice, and our Friends Buzz and Bizz brought Chicken Salad. That would be Salad with Real Chicken grilled to delicious perfection and place on top. Not the Mayo sandwich type. We went through like ten plus pounds of Chicken, all the Black Eyed Peas, all the Rice, and FIVE Pizzas. I think everyone was well fed.

We got to meet for the first time, well, we made some new friends as well, but we got to meet for the first time my Friend's Soon to be Baby Mommy. {Smile} Two Months away and she was just glowing. I love her. Such a Sweet person. My Friend also brought Anabel, a black Pug. Anabel was a big hit with some of the Kiddies as you can imagine. I keep telling Steven that he better be careful, I'll steal her one of these days. Love that Dog.

Josh had his Favorite people in the whole World there. Not naming names, do not want to unintentionally hurt any one's feelings, but they all had a BLAST. You can see pictures of this on FACEBOOK. You can also see pictures of the Lego Cupcake Cake that Laura ALSO made.

Josh made out beyond even his imagination. And that is saying something. He got Lego Star Wars, Cars, Buildings, Regular Cars, Boats, Plans, whole sets with like towns and stuff. My favorite is the Lego Lighthouse that really lights up. That's why I bought it for him. I want to play with it. {Smile} You know you do the same thing. You buy your kids toys that YOU want to play with. I guess that is another reason I'm happy to be blessed with two Boys.

Oh don't worry, Eli made his rounds. He was LOVING all the pretty Girls around. He was visiting with just about everyone there. Even our new Friend that is about to have one of her own was enjoying spending a bit of time with him. It was kinda funny. I looked over at the soon to be Dad watching her hold him, and I could almost hear, "Oh, so this is what it will look like." {Laughing}

No folks, there were no issues. No drama. No Politics. No rain. No fights. Nothing to report but a REALLY beautiful and happy Day. And all that was possible thanks to YOU. Well, OK. God for the weather. But YOU made Joshua's Birthday Bash a GREAT time. I think he is counting down toward the next one. {Smile}

Again, truly Thanks to all of you. It really meant a lot to me that you came. Even more so to Josh.

Today IS The Day

012411, The day my Son is born.

Hey folks,

It's been a long haul. But like Christmas Morning 2010, Joshua is excited. Well, a little confused, scared, and excited. Me? OK. A bit of the same. This is the day. 012411, The day my Son is born. The day Joshua gets a Brother.

Last Doctor visit, the Medical Staff guesstimated Eli was nearing 8 pounds. Laura's official due date was Friday. So since other than a few brief periods of Cramping, Eli seems to be all warm and cozy, and in NO rush whatsoever to bless the World. The Medical team working with us said this is pretty normal for a second child and that there was nothing to worry about. They highly recommended Induction this morning, at 7:30am. Laura is ready to have this all over with. So is Josh, and I am as well. We are all excited to have Eli become an official member of the family. So is my Niece Selina. If she wants to admit it or not. {Smile}

So just about 3 hours from now, the process will begin. Thank you all again for your Congratulations, thoughts and prayers. I will update as soon as I can and of course, there WILL be pictures.

All that in just a few minutes. First, what did I tell you? The Loons are throwing a blitz of Hail Mary's, hoping to complete at least a couple of them. Just flood the American people with so much insanity, that they are bound to miss some other things that they are trying to do. The Wall Street Journal has a GREAT piece on this. According to the WSJ - The Obama-Pelosi Lame Duck Strategy Union 'card-check,' cap and trade, and so much more..

Democratic House members are so worried about the fall elections they're leaving Washington on July 30, a full week earlier than normal—and they won't return until mid-September. Members gulped when National Journal's Charlie Cook, the Beltway's leading political handicapper, predicted last month "the House is gone," meaning a GOP takeover. He thinks Democrats will hold the Senate, but with a significantly reduced majority.

I'm not so sure that they will hold the Senate. But time will tell. Of course they know they are toast. They are legislated AGAINST the Will of the People. The People have told them so.

The rush to recess gives Democrats little time to pass any major laws. That's why there have been signs in recent weeks that party leaders are planning an ambitious, lame-duck session to muscle through bills in December they don't want to defend before November. Retiring or defeated members of Congress would then be able to vote for sweeping legislation without any fear of voter retaliation.

"I've got lots of things I want to do" in a lame duck, Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D., W. Va.) told reporters in mid June. North Dakota's Kent Conrad, chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, wants a lame-duck session to act on the recommendations of President Obama's deficit commission, which is due to report on Dec. 1. "It could be a huge deal," he told Roll Call last month. "We could get the country on a sound long-term fiscal path." By which he undoubtedly means new taxes in exchange for extending some, but not all, of the Bush-era tax reductions that will expire at the end of the year.

In the House, Arizona Rep. Raul Grijalva, co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, told reporters last month that for bills like "card check"—the measure to curb secret-ballot union elections—"the lame duck would be the last chance, quite honestly, for the foreseeable future."

Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin, chair of the Senate committee overseeing labor issues, told the Bill Press radio show in June that "to those who think [card check] is dead, I say think again." He told Mr. Press "we're still trying to maneuver" a way to pass some parts of the bill before the next Congress is sworn in.

Other lame-duck possibilities? Senate ratification of the New Start nuclear treaty, a federally mandated universal voter registration system to override state laws, and a budget resolution to lock in increased agency spending.

Then there is pork. A Senate aide told me that "some of the biggest porkers on both sides of the aisle are leaving office this year, and a lame-duck session would be their last hurrah for spending." Likely suspects include key members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Congress's "favor factory," such as Pennsylvania Democrat Arlen Specter and Utah Republican Bob Bennett.

Conservative groups such as FreedomWorks are alarmed at the potential damage, and they are demanding that everyone in Congress pledge not to take up substantive legislation in a post-election session. "Members of Congress are supposed to represent their constituents, not override them like sore losers in a lame-duck session," Rep. Tom Price, head of the Republican Study Committee, told me.

They haven't been representing their Constituents for YEARS.

It's been almost 30 years since anything remotely contentious was handled in a lame-duck session, but that doesn't faze Democrats who have jammed through ObamaCare and are determined to bring the financial system under greater federal control.

They are right, they do not care. You have to give this reporter credit. He IS telling you the truth here.

Mike Allen of Politico.com reports one reason President Obama failed to mention climate change legislation during his recent, Oval Office speech on the Gulf oil spill was that he wants to pass a modest energy bill this summer, then add carbon taxes or regulations in a conference committee with the House, most likely during a lame-duck session. The result would be a climate bill vastly more ambitious, and costly for American consumers and taxpayers, than moderate "Blue Dogs" in the House would support on the campaign trail. "We have a lot of wiggle room in conference," a House Democratic aide told the trade publication Environment & Energy Daily last month.

Many Democrats insist there will be no dramatic lame-duck agenda. But a few months ago they also insisted the extraordinary maneuvers used to pass health care wouldn't be used. Desperate times may be seen as calling for desperate measures, and this November the election results may well make Democrats desperate.

They are liars folks. They Lie all the time. But it should be interesting to watch. Let's hope the Republicans can block the most insane of the Agendas.

IWA for Sunday 061409

As you all know, I have a Son.

Hey folks,

Yes, I have a Son. His name is Joshua. He is 4 years old this coming July 19. Which by the way is a Sunday, so there will be not Big Sunday Edition of the OPNTalk Blog that week. I love my boy.

Josh is well advanced in many things. He is VERY skilled at puzzles. Better than I actually. Can count to ten in English and Spanish. Say his ABCs, even read a bit. Forget trying to spell things out. I do not know how he does it, but he seems to figure out what you are spelling and then comes out and says what you are attempting to keep from him. Of course, he can also tell you ANY of the Thomas and Friends Trains by number and color.

Yes. My Son is well advanced in many things. DRIVING is not one of them. Neither would I make such a ridiculous claim. But our Idiot this Week DID. Sort of. Yes, it's Sunday. Time for the IWA.

According to the AP - NH Man blames infant son for hit-and-run accident

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Police in Portsmouth, N.H., said a man has been charged with lying about his involved in a hit-and-run accident by telling them his son was driving the vehicle. Problem is, the man's son is an infant. A police officer questioned the man about who "normally" drives the car and was told by the man that his 19-year-old son drives the vehicle, but wasn't home, Foster's Daily Democrat reported. The man told police he would have his son contact them.

A police office said in an affidavit as he was leaving the house, he "happened upon one of the neighbors" and asked if they had seen the man's son driving the vehicle recently.

The officer wrote that the subject laughed and informed him that the man's son is still an infant.

That's it folks. That's the whole story. It doesn't say, but I think I would have waited a day or so. I would LOVE to see who this Idiot got to play his Son. This guy, normally I do not award someone without knowing their name, most definitely deserves it. Really, did he think that they would just go away?
