It's TIME. Time for the Idiot of the Year for 2010. As you know, we here at the OPNTalk Blog have a Weekly Segment called the IWA. The Idiot of the Week. Our Winners range from Politicians to ordinary People, some of whom may very well be good people, but yet, on a given day, show Stupidity beyond description. Each and every one deserve the award, and in turn, deserve the possibility of the ultimate award, the idiot of the Year. Yet there can be only one.

So after much deliberation, the Runners up?

Number 5 - Pat Robertson, IWA For Sunday 011710

Haiti gets hit with a 7.0 Earthquake. Countless after quakes. Schools, hospitals, hotels and even the Presidential Palace lay in ruins, with people caked in blood and dust pleading for help. Casualty figures are still impossible to calculate, but Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive told CNN the final death toll from the quake could be "well over 100,000."

So with all this, Robertson said it's a Blessing in disguise, and that it's because they made a pact with the Devil. To make such an idiotic statement, while sitting on your nice cushy couch collect another few Million, while nearly a hundred thousand people have died, even more than that have lost EVERYTHING, is just asinine.

Number 4 - Pete and Alisha Arnold - IWA For Sunday 112110 Remember them?

A Minnesota couple are leaving the decision about whether they should get an abortion up to an online poll posted on a website showing ultrasounds of the healthy, 16-week old fetus dubbed "Wiggles".

That is all you really need to read on this. They even attempted to what, make it cute? "Wiggles?" Obviously they NAMED something that is ALIVE. They are letting others decide if it is allowed to live?

Number 3 - Keith Oldermann - IWA For Sunday110710

Folks, EVERYONE knows that Olbermann is nothing more than a pawn in the State Run Mainstream Media. He lacks the ability to actually THINK for himself. He was good at simply reported whatever he was told to. But he never crossed the line. He never let the Public SEE his bias. Well, he did the whole hiding thing that is so lame a Kindergartner could see through it. But at least he was trying. Make that WAS.

Seems that our Idiot DID cross that imaginary line. He was reckless, and too open. He left a trail that others could pick up on. He exposed himself. Now, he is fired. Fired for "Violating the ethics policies?"{Laughing} Of NBC? The New Barack Channel? Seriously? Who knew?

Number 2 - The Runner Up? Charlie Rangel IWA For Sunday 022810

Our Idiot this week, accepted Corporate sponsored trips to the Caribbean. He has failed to pay taxes on Rentals, and HE is in charge of writing Laws that will send YOU to jail for not paying taxes.

The latest charge against this Moron is that he knowingly accepted Corporate funded {Pay offs} trips to greatly desired Vacation spots on THREE known occasions. As you all know, he was Censured. Yet he goes on. You try it. See if all YOU get is a slap on the Hand.

So the Winner of the 2010 Idiot of the Year? Charlie Crist IWA For Sunday 050210 I VOTED for this guy. If you just walked what you talked, and were a TRUE Republican, you would have been the next President of the United States. But you put your own self preservation over all those that propelled you to power. So sad, so sorry, SEE YA! He really is one of the biggest disappointments in my life. Now one of the Founders of the "No Tags" Party, which are nothing more than losing Liberals attempting to reinvent themselves, to fool you into giving them another chance.

Congratulations Charlie, or should I say "Sorry Charlie," YOU ARE the IDIOT of the Year. You had the Future, you chose the past. You CHOSE to be a Liberal Loser. YOU threw your career away. As I said before, So sad, so sorry, SEE YA!

Rangel's Hand Slap

YOU try it.

Hey folks,

"Hey Pete. What do you think about this?"

The House of Representatives on Thursday voted 333-79 to censure Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.) for violations of tax and fundraising rules, the first time in nearly 30 years that the House has considered such a severe punishment for one of its own.

YOU try to not file taxes for 17 years, hide a half Million in assets, and go to work and Violate 11 of your company Rules and Regulations. Lets see how YOU come out. Most likely Fired with some Jail Time thrown in.

Less than 45 seconds, a "Shame on you" speech by Pelosi, who could have been reading ANYTHING in the House, and he has to pay some money. Money he has more than enough of from Lying, Cheating, and Stealing. After this, uh, GRUELING, Censure, Rangel comes out smiling and saying this.

"I leave here knowing that everybody knows I'm an honest guy,"

He doesn't CARE. The members of the House really do not care. Now that this is over, they can move on with business. Right?

Truth is, this really means nothing. The only way that Rangel Shamed the Liberal Democrats, is the fact he got caught. They have no Shame. No Morals. No Ethics. They just don't. So this little slap on the hand means NOTHING. Rangel will move on like nothing happened. Like I said. YOU try it. {Smile}

Show Trial of Rangel, Racism Set Up?

It was all just show.

Hey folks,

Did you catch the Show? It was Show time in the House. Yes, Rangel found GUILTY. "I'm Screwed." "They will not let me hire more Lawyers." " I'm not being afforded Due Process" Then came the Guilty Verdict in Act Two. Then came the Tears in Act Three. Then the Sentence? Rangel to be Censured.

Oh no. Censured. A mark on his file? A nasty letter? Public comment that he has been a bad boy? Oooh. They really took him to task. He was found guilty of 11 House Ethics Violations and failing to report more than $600,000, and failing to pay taxes on Rental Income from a Villa he owns in the Dominican Republic. So? He gets a Slap on the wrist. Oh, some say he may have to pay the Taxes. Uh. Maybe. You try it, see what happens to you.

Meanwhile there is another under,,uh, make that WAS under investigation. According to The Hill - Waters accuses Ethics of having weak case after calling off her trial By Susan Crabtree - 11/19/10 04:13 PM ET

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) accused the ethics committee of having a weak case that is unraveling after the panel abruptly cancelled her public trial.

“The committee’s decision to cancel the hearing and put it off indefinitely demonstrates that the committee does not have a strong case and would not be able to prove any violation has occurred,” she said in a lengthy statement Friday reacting to the announcement.

She also said she was disappointed the committee once again postponed the hearing and said it showed “a complete disregard for due process and fairness.”

“For over a year, I have cooperated with the investigation and I have consistently asked for a public hearing on this matter,” she said. “I remain eager to present my case and demonstrate to my constituents and all Americans that I have not violated any House rules.”

The House ethics committee announced Friday it has delayed indefinitely Waters trial because the panel had discovered new evidence in the case.

So this Show has been put on hold. Most likely because the Players are about to change and they have better things to do. But notice how she is talking about “a complete disregard for due process and fairness.”

So you have TWO Black Congress People calling foul. They both say they are a Victim of the failure to receive "Due Process." Why could this be? Maybe because they are Black? We already know that Waters is quick to play the Race Card. Rangel was trying to save his Butt from, uh, a slap on the wrist. But could they be trying to set up a Racism Defense? Of course they are.

Look folks, the reality is that this is all mere distractions. Shows. Mean nothing. Nothing is going to change for either one of these two. Do not get distracted. We have bigger fish to fry, and more important things to do.

The Democrats New, Old Southern Strategy

Not really too much to add here.

Happy Thursday. Once again, there is so much good stuff in the Emails, we need more than just one day, tomorrow, to air some out. Here is a perfect example. This flies in the face of the rhetoric, and is the truth getting in the way of the agenda. At minimum, in the context of it always being alleged by the Left that the Right is Hate filled, Racist, Bigoted, Chauvinistic, Homophobes, this gives you something to think about. Here it is.

The Democrats New/Old Southern Strategy

As many have known for years and warned frequently, the Democratic Party strategy of race-baiting was merely a tactic to gain political power for their White leadership. Sound really cynical? Take a look at the new strategy. Old habits die hard, as the saying goes. And so, too, do deeply-rooted, institutional policies reflective of a rotten core...like the Democratic Party's harboring of bold racial animus and disdain while claiming the mantle of "diversity," and at the same time, employing the most overtly divisive racial political strategies seen in this country during the past 60 years.

If not for racism, how else to account for the pervasive corruption in the Democratic party, and yet, under the authority of the Democrat-controlled Office of Congressional Ethics, only one White member is under investigation, while at least eight Black members are? Coincidence? Seems unlikely.

Chris Dodd. Barney Frank. Nancy Pelosi. Jim Moran. These are just some of the names that swiftly percolate to the surface during any man-on-the-street interview with regular Americans when you ask their views on corrupt politicians. And yet, not a one of them is currently under investigation by the Democrat-controlled Office of Congressional Ethics.

So, what is it, exactly, that differentiates those members of the Democratic Party from, say, Charlie Rangel, Maxine Waters, Melvin Watt, or Jesse Jackson, Jr., all of whom are currently enjoying "official, enhanced scrutiny"? Time in office? Power at hand? Intelligence? Good luck? Or, have they garnered special treatment simply because of the color of their skin?

Seem far-fetched? Here is how Democrat cheerleader Froma Harrop described Pelosi's strategy in her Real Clear Politics column:

"That the Democrats under the microscope -- New York Rep. Charles B. Rangel and California Rep. Maxine Waters -- are both black only underscores the seriousness with which the Democratic leadership supports a new set of standards for conduct."

In the 45 years since the inception of Civil Rights legislation in America, Democrats have taken Blacks from the back of the Democrat bus, propelled them up to the front of the bus when the microphones and the cameras were in evidence - festooning their likeness throughout - and then chucked them unceremoniously under the bus in order to get back what they consider their lost redneck voters. And yet, this is the political party that consistently "earns" over 90% of Black support at the polls?

Nancy Pelosi, who famously claimed to an un-skeptical press corps that she was going to "drain the swamp" of Washington corruption, has turned into the Creature from the Black Lagoon, mossy barnacles of corruption affixed to all but the surgically-enhanced square inches of her tight visage. The Democrats' ranks are literally rife with corruption; even a limp-wristed, blind swing of the piñata paddle would yield burst pustules of theft, bribes, and lies. And yet, Pelosi's efforts have yielded no white members, while ensnaring a full 38% of the Congressional Black Caucus.

According to David Freddoso of the Washington Examiner, "PMA was shut down last year and raided by the FBI in the wake of several reports that its employees and clients were allegedly trading contributions for hundreds of millions of dollars in earmarks from certain members of Congress. This accusation has never been proven, and the Office of Congressional Ethics dropped its investigation last year." An investigation that would have netted half a dozen or so White Democrats for allegedly taking millions of dollars in bribes, making what Rangel and Jefferson had done look like petty theft by comparison, until that investigation was shut down by the very same "office of Congressional Ethics" that has taken up investigating Black Democrats, at a very suspicious time- right before the November elections.

Pelosi isn't draining the swamp, she is holding Rangel's and Water's heads under the swamp water. According to the guidelines as established and aggressively heralded by Pelosi and the Liberal Left, the Democratic Party is guilty, at minimum, of "racial profiling"...of the kind they routinely accuse our nation's police of employing. At a minimum.

But, if we apply the same standards that Pelosi and the Liberal Left force American private businesses to adhere to, then what we are witness to is racism, pure and simple. If this was an affirmative action case, does anyone doubt that the evidence as presented would lead to a conviction?

To believe otherwise makes one a racist by Democrat standards. This is what they have demanded from the rest of us for years.

If you run a company and your employee base does not reflect the "racial make-up" of the community in which you are located, regardless of who has applied to work there? The verdict is swift and clear: Racial Discrimination!

If law enforcement arrests a disproportionate number of minorities? Again, the "evidence" is incontrovertible: Racial Discrimination!

So, if the Democratic Party engages in a "comprehensive effort" to rid its own body of corruption - a body that has long emitted the sights, sounds, smell of corruption - and then identifies ONLY Black members, when they represent just a small percentage of the total? Well, apply the Democratic Party Racial Calculus, and you can only conclude: Institutional Racism!

Democratic Party racism aside, we're not suggesting that Rangel, Waters, William Jefferson, etc. have been vindicated. But we think it's clear they were under the delusion that they, too, were free to participate in the wanton looting that has always firmly - if sort of quietly - defined the soul- the rich, White liberal soul of the Democratic Party. It is now clear that they were never part of the "elite," and that no one bothered to tell them that "carte blanche" in the Democratic Party is delineated with a "hard c", as in blanc, for white...In other words, you DO get a free pass, IF you're rich, WHITE, and liberal.

Pelosi and the Democratic Party have wielded the racial baton for years, silencing dissent, undermining opposition, engaging in the most egregious of personal attacks, and always for political ends. And most often without even the slightest morsel of evidence.

"Evidence" was never important; THEY were the arbiters of racism. In fact, how often does one hear that charge of racism now? How about every time a conservative defends States Rights...declares affection for the 10th Amendment...or displays opposition to ObamaCare?

But perhaps the Democrats' favorite tactic - aided and abetted by a sympathetic, sycophantic media - has always featured the slander of "unintentional racism," meaning someone could be guilty of racism, but not even conscious of it. Although slightly mitigating - "2nd Degree Murder", anyone? - this was also the most insidious of charges, because by it's very nature it could not be accounted for...or defended against.

Well, Pelosi and her liberal leadership are guilty of much worse than even "unintentional racism." Their racism is active, passionate, and very much pre-meditated. In fact, it's part of a much larger strategy to win back key Southern political districts. Abhorrent, for sure. But also risky: will the Democrats' strategy of hanging their Black members out as bait bring back their historically racist caucus? Does that constituency even exist anymore? And can the media, the Congressional Black Caucus, and concerned Americans everywhere tolerate this disgusting racism any longer? We thought this type of politics - surely the "Politics As Usual" historically practiced by the Democratic Party, and subsequently decried by its leader - were relics of the past. They sure should be.

A Reporter NOT afraid to ask tough questions.

Hey folks,

Well, then again, what WOULD you expect from the Son of the Late Tim Russert? I heard this on Rush Limbaugh today, actually fortunate enough to tune in today. I think it was around the second hour. Anyway, I knew that LUKE Russert had to be the winner of this week's Display of Logic Award.

Here is the exchange

CONGRESSMAN RANGEL: What are you talking about? You're just trying to make copy? What job? The one I got?

RUSSERT: Yeah. I mean, these are really serious violations.

CONGRESSMAN RANGEL: I mean, how do you think I got my job? I was elected. How do you think I lose it?

RUSSERT: Well, there's two ways. You could lose it if your colleagues voted you out of here because of ethics violations or if your constituents do not find you upstanding.

CONGRESSMAN RANGEL: What station are you with? Well, you're young; I guess you do need to make a name for yourself.

RUSSERT: (chuckles)

CONGRESSMAN RANGEL: But basically you know it's a dumb question, and I'm not answering.

RUSSERT: How is it a dumb question?

CONGRESSMAN RANGEL: The allegations that were made by some people!

RUSSERT: Sir? Sir? You did not file taxes on properties in the Dominican Republic, allegedly.

CONGRESSMAN RANGEL: It doesn't... It doesn't sound like... It doesn't...

RUSSERT: If that comes to be true, is that not a problem?

CONGRESSMAN RANGEL: It doesn't really sound like NBC --

RUSSERT: Sir?

CONGRESSMAN RANGEL -- asking these dumb questions. It just shows what has really happened to a channel that did have some respect.

For having the nerve to actually stand up to one of the most corrupt Politicians EVER, and not allowing him to simply wave you off, congratulations Luke Russert, you are the Winner of the DLA this week. Charlie even had to apologize to you. THAT is impressive all by itself.

A Reporter asking honest questions that the public would like to know. Way to go Luke. Your Dad would be proud.
