Snow in Rome?

Snow EVERYWHERE.

Hey folks,

I was just going to mention this is passing during the Sunday Preview, but then I started seeing that it is not just Rome, it's snow EVERYWHERE, even right here in Sunny Florida. And what are we told by the Chicken Little Crowd? "Oh, we are having all this snow BECAUSE of Global Warming. {Sigh}

First we are told No Snow = Global Warming. All during pretty light season, Global WARMING!!! Proof!! You see?

Sen Byrd in 2002? "We need a climate change strategy badly. Look at the kind of winter we've had here in Washington. One snow, three inches? I don't need a scientist to tell me that. We had better do something about it."

Sen. Feinstien in 2005? "The Sierra Nevada snow pack is the largest source of water. The snow pack equals about half the storage capacity of all of California's man-made reservoirs. By the end of the century, the shrinking of the snow pack will eliminate the water source for 16 million people."

Sen. Boxer in 2007? "The most optimistic climate models for the second half of this century suggest that 30 to 70% of the snow pack will disappear. Now, no wonder we have people visiting our offices who are just already hurting from the recreation industry in this nation. They see what's happening. They see the handwriting on the wall. We have to act."

She also said this. "The potential consequences will be devastating for our families in the future and for the world. Now we're seeing the early warning signs. People can come down to this floor and say whatever they want. We've seen melting of snow, we have seen melting of permafrost, increased temperatures, warming of lakes, rivers, oceans, changes in the seasons."

Then in 2009, Boxer said this. "Looking at the United States of America, the IPCC clearly warned that unchecked global warming will lead to reduced snow pack in the western mountains, critically reducing access to water, which is our lifeblood."

So all this "The Sky is falling" and the melting Snow is inarguable proof that Global Warming exists, we going into 2010 winter season. RECORD SNOWFALL All over the place. There is SNOW in EVERY State in our Union. There is Snow in Rome. According to Reuters - Rare snowfall in Rome as cold snap grips Italy

ROME (Reuters) – Tourists took rare pictures of snow falling on the Colosseum and the Trevi fountain on Friday, and the Pope reportedly appeared at a Vatican window to watch Rome's heaviest snowfall in nearly a quarter century.

In scenes usually only glimpsed in souvenir "snow domes" Italy's capital was blanketed in white, snarling road and air traffic but delighting many Romans who rode scooters with their feet on the ground and snapped pictures with mobile phones.

Rome was last dusted in snow in 2005, but one meteorologist said the steady snowfall through Friday morning was the heaviest seen in the Italian capital in 24 years.

According to News On 6 - OU Student Collecting Pictures of Snow in All 50 States

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- A University of Oklahoma student is taking an extra interest in this week's snow storms in the south and northeast and is working to document the events in a very unique way.

Patrick Marsh said it's likely by the end of the week snow will be on the ground in all 50 states.

From Ardmore all the way to Dallas and even in Louisiana, the south is snowed in. For many, it's a winter wonderland in places that rarely see such weather. But none of it comes close to the mess up north where two blizzards have blown through in a week.

We just got some snow up in Northern Sunny Florida. Snowing all over the place. So this PROVES Global Warming is Bunk, right? WRONG. All this snow is CAUSED by Global Warming. {Laughing} I know it's just completely idiotic. But the WHOLE thing is idiotic. So how is this? Well, the SCAMMERS say that higher temperatures causes more water evaporation, which increases the chances of heavy precipitation events, such as floods and snowstorms. Of course the IPCC is chiming in, even though NOTHING they say can be believed. Globally, precipitation has increased in regions over 30 degrees north according to the Inventive Panel on Coning Chumps, uh AKA, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, but has been declining in tropical regions since the 70s.

OK. I guess it's settled. No snow, Global Warming. Record Snow, Global Warming. No storms, Global Warming. Increased storms, Global Warming. Rain fall? Global Warming. Dry seasons? Global Warming. The Temperatures getting cooler? Global Warming, Global Warming, Global Warming! Just except it already Damn it! {Sigh}

No thank you.
Peter

I tried to tell you this before. The only thing that matters is the snow pack in the west. The snow in the east and especially south doesn't matter. Those places get so much precip it doesn't affect the overall balance. The above statement is absolutely correct.

If you go by the theory that because you are cold there is no climate change caused by humans or because it snowed a little in Texas there is no climate change caused by humans then you have to accept this: There is NO snow in Montana (and Vancouver) and it's 50 degrees in February sooooo... there must be climate change. Both of these statements are ludicrous. Human beings affect the earth's climate. We have been since the industrial revolution. It is a fact. It's been taught that way for more than a century. Any basic college geology, biology or geography class will cover this. Human's don't not affect the climate. It may not be the end of the world but this change will affect people and their way of life all over the world.

It's also become clear to me that the issues with the IPCC's dubious findings are connected to the second report issued in 2007. Specifially, “Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability” and “Mitigation of Climate Change” parts of the second 2007 report. This report speaks to the socio-economic impacts of a warming earth. There's just less hard data on global warming's effects. So some of the figures were skewed. This is embarrassing to say the least and unacceptable. There has, however, been no challenge to the first IPCC report.

Here are the missteps in the report:
—In the Asian chapter, five errors in a single entry on glaciers in Himalayas say those glaciers would disappear by 2035 — hundreds of years earlier than other information suggests — with no research backing it up. It used an advocacy group as a source. It also erroneously said the Himalayan glaciers were melting faster than other glaciers.

—A sentence in the chapter on Europe says 55 percent of the Netherlands is below sea level, when it's really about half that amount.

—A section in the Africa chapter that talks about northern African agriculture says climate change and normal variability could reduce crop yields. But it gets oversimplified in later summaries so that lower projected crop yields are blamed solely on climate change.

To pick out these mistakes in the second report and conclude that there is no such thing as human caused climate change is a bit silly. The overwhelming majority of the findings in all four climate reports are correct and well-supported.

My river gets shut down every summer because the high water temps and low flow causes too much stress on the fish. I can't fish when the river is closed. Something is happening, and fast. Too fast. Must be blind not to see it. Or maybe you just don't live in the right place to see it. How does that go? Can't see the trees thru the forest?

Hey Peter,

Next year? Your river may be over flowing. Temps Maybe Lower. There may be NO Snow. I guess we will have to wait and see.

PS, Now even more coming out.

WAIT AND SEE??? That's your answer to my livelihood?? I will not wait any longer. I am trying to do my part. I am trying to teach stewardship and responsibility to my kids and to others. People affect the environment. The land, the water, the air, the climate. UUUggggghhhhhh!!!!! WAIT AND SEE??? People like you are screwing with my pursuit of happiness (guaranteed in that little thing called the Bill of Rights. Ever hear of it?). Treasonists. All of you.

Hey Pete

WAIT AND SEE??? That's your answer to my livelihood??

No my answer is, I thought pretty obvious, there is NO THREAT. There is NO Global Warming. It is all a scam.

Now you did say "livelihood." Does this mean you work in the GREEN MARKET? Which of course would be affected if people wake up to this reality. I can easily understand your angst, if that is indeed the case.

I will not wait any longer. I am trying to do my part. I am trying to teach stewardship and responsibility to my kids and to others. People affect the environment. The land, the water, the air, the climate.

Yes to a degree. But we are not killing the Planet by BREATHING. Cows Farting will not kill us. Give Al Gore Millions in Carbon Credits would do nothing for the environment even if it WAS real. It's all a SCAM Pete.

UUUggggghhhhhh!!!!! WAIT AND SEE??? People like you are screwing with my pursuit of happiness

Again. Do you work in the "Green Area?" I'm not interfering in your pursuit of happiness at all. You want to fall for the SCAM, be my guest and be happy. Feel good that you are "doing your part of saving the planet." Good Job. Great. Just do not tell me I have to follow your lead. I see the reality of the situation and I really do not want to go down that path.

Treasonists. All of you.

{Laughing} Care to explain?

One of the many things I do to support my family is I am a fishing guide. The rivers that I float are more and more frequently being shut down earlier and earlier in the summer. This year will be the worst yet. Snowpack is at 50% in most places. This is devastating. We are getting plenty of precipitation but it isn't the right kind. The higher elevations are not maintaining the snow that is needed as runoff in the later summer months. The temps are too high.

So the short answer is YES, I work in the "GREEN AREA". Not for long, tho.

And because you refuse to admit there is a problem (and because of the continued energy policies of this country) you and the ilk are preventing me from my pursuit of happiness and economic opportunity. This is treason.

Hey Peter,

Your area may be going trough a pattern. Next year you may have record snow. But I accepting the reality that there is no Man-made Global Warming, or accepting it with open arms will change NOTHING about this situation.

Got news for you, neither would carbon credits. Neither will the IPCC. Neither will changing light bulbs.

You keep throwing the word Treason in there. Treason is the crime that covers some of the more serious acts of betrayal of one's sovereign or nation. such as Pelosi, Reid, Murtha, and the Ilk did during the War with Bush as Commander and Chief. Not pointing out that our country is under attack by those that want to destroy it based on a SCAM. Sorry, doesn't fit.
