Hillary Backing Pelosi's "Chirica" Plan

Transcript of Hillary's ICPD Speech

Hey folks,

You really can't make this stuff up. I know, I know, it's Transcript Weekend here, but you have to hear this, and you HAD to understand what it really means. Hillary delivered a major speech Friday to mark the 15th anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD). Here is Hillary.

Thank you very much. (Applause.) Thank you all. Thank you. Thank you all very much.

My goodness, thank you. Wow, this is a wonderful occasion. Several of us were quite nervous when we saw the snow start last night, so I’m delighted the sun is out and shining on all of you here as we gather for this commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the groundbreaking gathering and agreement in Cairo.

When I think about that and the thousands of people who were part of it who came together to declare with one voice that reproductive healthcare is critical to the health of women, and that women’s health is essential to the prosperity and opportunity of all, to the stability of families and communities, and the sustainability and development of nations, it makes me nostalgic for conferences that are held that actually produce results – (laughter) – and give us a framework for moving forward. There is no doubt in my mind that the work that was done and the commitments that were made in Cairo are still really the bulwark of what we intend to be doing and are expected to do on behalf of women and girls.

The year 2015 is the target year. Part of the reason we wanted to have this commemoration is not only to look backwards, but to look forward. What is it we will do between now and 2015? Remember what was expected of us. All governments will make access to reproductive healthcare and family planning services a basic right. We will dramatically reduce infant, child, and maternal mortality. We will open the doors of education to all citizens, but especially to girls and women.

OK STOP! Translation, ABORTION. Continue

It is somewhat hard to believe in retrospect that Cairo was the first ever global forum that recognized the connection between women’s health, the quality of women’s lives, and human progress on a broader scale. So I am delighted to join you in marking this landmark event, but more importantly, to asking you to join with us in rededicating ourselves to the goals that we embraced 15 years ago. They remain critical and they remain unfilled.

We have not made it a Legal RIGHT for Women to get abortions at will, at any time, for any reason. Funding for Abortions is still in Obamacare folks.

I’ve had the honor and privilege as I look around this audience of knowing many of you, some of you for a very long time. And I know how committed many of you have been and continue to be. We have made measurable progress since 1994 in improving the health and the lives of women and children, especially girls. For example, the use of modern contraceptives worldwide has increased from under 10 percent in the 1960s to 43 percent in 2008. We have greater access to neo-natal care, including medicines that prevent the spread of HIV from mother to child. We’ve significantly increased child survival rates. The number of girls enrolled in schools around the world has gone up. And we’ve come closer to a less measurable but still critical goal: The integration of gender into a range of global programs, including our efforts through the United Nations to bring an end to sexual and gender-based violence in places of conflict.

However, vast inequities remain. Too often, still today in 2010, women and girls bear the burdens of regional and global crises, whether it’s an economic downturn or climate change or political instability. They still are the majority of the world’s poor, unschooled, unhealthy, and underfed. They are rarely the cause of violent consequences, but increasingly – of violent conflicts, but increasingly they bear the consequences of such conflicts. We’ve seen that from the Congo to Bosnia to Burma. And 15 years after the Cairo conference, far too many women still have little or no access to reproductive health services, including family planning and maternal healthcare.

Sounds good, but they do not really care about these Women's daily lives, with the exception of Abortion. Why? I'll get to that in a second.

When we look at this deficit in healthcare for women, we can see what it means in terms of lost productivity, lost resources, and lost lives. Nearly half the women in the developing world deliver their babies without a nurse, a midwife, a doctor, or access to crucial medical care. Global rates of maternal mortality remain perilously high; one woman dies every minute of every day in pregnancy or childbirth, and for every woman who dies, another 20 suffer from injury, infection, or disease every minute.

Sounds compassionate. Doesn't it?

More than 215 million women worldwide lack access to the modern forms of contraception, and this contributes to the nearly 20 million unsafe abortions that take place very year. Sexually transmitted diseases, of course including, but not limited to, HIV and AIDS, claim millions of lives annually among women. Fistula destroys the lives of millions, and it is often the result of pregnancies that occur when a girl is too young. An estimated 70 million – that is 70 million women and girls worldwide – have been subjected to female genital cutting, a procedure that is not only painful and traumatic but is also the source of infections and increased risks of injury during childbirth.

Now, as those of us gathered in the Ben Franklin Room on the eight floor of the State Department know very well, the topic of reproductive health is subject to a great deal of debate. But I think we should all agree that these numbers are not only grim, but after 15 years, they are intolerable. For if we believe that human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights, then we cannot accept the ongoing marginalization of half the world’s population. We cannot accept it morally, politically, socially, or economically. (Applause)

So we’re here today to examine the distance that remains to be traveled before the world fully realizes the ICPD goals. This is a journey that the Obama Administration and the United States Government will travel with you. But we need to travel quickly, because we only have five years to meet our original goals.

For the health statistics that I just mentioned point to a broader impact. There’s a direct connection between a woman’s ability to plan her family, space her pregnancies, and give birth safely, and her ability to get an education, work outside the home, support her family, and participate fully in the life of her community.

Typical Feminist Liberation BS. Women are to important to give Birth. It is BAD to be a Mother. It hinders Women. ETC. But that's not it.

When a girl becomes a mother before she becomes literate, when a woman gives birth alone and is left with a permanent disability, when a mother toils daily to feed her large family but cannot convince her husband to agree to contraception, these struggles represent suffering that can and should be avoided. They represent potential that goes unfulfilled. And they also represent an opportunity to extend critical help to women worldwide and the children who depend on them.

Investing in the health of women, adolescents, and girls is not only the right thing to do; it is also the smart thing to do. That is why we are integrating women’s issues as key elements of our foreign policy agenda and in, especially, our Global Health Initiative and our Global Food Security Initiative. That is why we saw the first appointment of an ambassador for global women issues, and it didn’t take me long to decide who should fill that position. It is why we are launching women’s entrepreneurial efforts through Pathways to Prosperity in Latin America, to ensure that prosperity is spread more broadly, including to women. It is why we are working with religious leaders in Afghanistan and Pakistan to increase access to information about family planning and preventive healthcare.

We are doing all of these things because we have seen that when women and girls have the tools to stay healthy and the opportunity to contribute to their families’ well-being, they flourish and so do the people around them.

Consider this one story from Uganda, where USAID works with the International Planned Parenthood Federation to provide reproductive health services, education, and skills training to low-income women. Among their clients are a group of teenage girls who call themselves the “Moonlight Stars.” Their parents are dead, leaving them the sole providers for their younger brothers and sisters, without any other options, they were working as prostitutes. Through this USAID-funded program, they gained access to condoms and comprehensive sex education to protect themselves from disease and pregnancy. They also began taking classes in sewing and knitting and other kinds of skills that could be used to help support their siblings without endangering their physical or emotional well-being. And thanks to this job training and the support that accompanied it, many of the Moonlight Stars have left prostitution behind and embarked on a new path of opportunity for themselves and their families.

Which is GREAT.

While investing in women lifts many lives, the inverse is also true. In societies where women’s rights and roles are denied, girls are forbidden from attending school or they pay a very heavy price to try to do so. Few have the right to decide whether or when to get married or become mothers. Poverty, political oppression, and even violent extremism often follow.

Maternal and child health are particularly important indicators of broader progress. In recent years, we’ve learned more about the conditions that accompany political unrest. It turns out that one of the most constant predictors for political upheaval is the rate of infant mortality. In places where the rate of infant mortality is high, the quality of life is low because investment in and access to healthcare are often out of reach. And that breeds the kind of frustration, hopelessness, and anger that we’ve seen. We also know that child mortality is closely connected with maternal mortality. When a mother dies, her children are at much greater risk of dying as well.

These struggles can’t be separated, and neither can their solutions. In the Obama Administration, we are convinced of the value of investing in women and girls, and we understand there is a direct line between a woman’s reproductive health and her ability to lead a productive, fulfilling life. And therefore, we believe investing in the potential of women and girls is the smartest investment we can make. It is connected to every problem on anyone’s mind around the world today. (Applause.)

Again, Motherhood is bad. Doesn't come right out and say it, but that is exactly what she means.

So we are rededicating ourselves to the global efforts to improve reproductive health for women and girls. Under the leadership of this Administration, we are committed to meeting the Cairo goals. We’re committed to working in partnership with all of you. One of President Obama’s first actions in office was to overturn the Mexico City policy, which greatly limited our ability to fund family planning programs. (Applause.)

Abortions.

We have pledged new funding, new programs, and a renewed commitment to achieve Millennium Development Goal Five, namely a [three-fourths] reduction in global maternal mortality, and universal access to reproductive healthcare. This goal is, again, critical to and interconnected with every other millennium development goal. But the world has made less progress toward fulfilling that goal than any other.

This year, the United States renewed funding of reproductive healthcare through the United Nations Population Fund, and more funding is on the way. (Applause.) The U.S. Congress recently appropriated more than $648 million in foreign assistance to family planning and reproductive health programs worldwide. That’s the largest allocation in more than a decade – since we last had a Democratic president, I might add. (Applause.)

That's $648 Million of YOUR money to pay for Abortions in other Countries.

In addition to new funding, we’ve launched a new program that will be the centerpiece of our foreign policy, the Global Health Initiative, which commits us to spending $63 billion over six years to improve global health by investing in efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality, prevent millions of unintended pregnancies, and avert millions of new HIV infections, among other goals. This initiative will employ a new approach to fighting disease and promoting health. It will address interrelated health challenges together, for example, by integrating family planning, maternal health services, and HIV/AIDS screening and treatment, so that women receiving reproductive care will also receive HIV counseling, and will be referred to an HIV clinic if they need one.

Another $63 BILLION of your money. That we do not have.

We’re now seeing the rise of the largest youth generation in the history of the world. They need and deserve to know how to stay healthy, and through this initiative, we will be providing critical information to them. The Global Health Initiative will also focus on helping countries strengthen their own health systems. We want to build sustainable health systems in countries. And it will ensure that all of our global health programs, including nutrition, malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS are designed to meet the needs of women and girls, including by taking into account the many social and economic factors that have an impact on their health from sexual coercion to domestic violence to pervasive gender inequities.

You know that HIV/AIDS is now morphing into a women’s disease, and increasingly younger and younger women in many, many poor countries are infected. We know that expanding access to contraception helps only if women are empowered to use it, that protecting oneself from HIV is harder when one’s life depends on staying in a man’s good favor, and that all the prenatal care in the world won’t protect a mother and child from an abusive home. Promoting women’s health and children’s health means improving the quality of their lives on many levels, and it also means reaching out to men and boys to encourage them to become advocates and allies.

So we have our work cut out for us, but we have an excellent roadmap in the Cairo program of action and a worthy target in the Millennium Development Goal Number Five. And we’re going to need your help. In everything that we’re doing in the Department and at USAID, we are injecting the needs and the roles of women and girls. We’re asking for how women and girls can play more of a role in their societies, be more involved in peacemaking and peacekeeping, assist in mitigating against and preventing climate change. Just across the board, we are making it clear that there has to be special attention paid to the needs of women and girls. It’s in America’s national security interests to do so.

OK. HERE is the real meaning behind all this. I know we are going to go REAL Long here. Sorry to all my friends out there that love to repost. You have to pay attention to the following.

I want to close with the story of one woman whose life was transformed by the work that the people in this room do every single day. Caroline Ditina is a young woman from the Democratic Republic of Congo who for years endured the shame and ostracism caused by obstetric fistula. Eventually, she found her way to a clinic supported by the UN Population Fund, and she finally received the surgery, care, and emotional support she needed to heal. Then she started speaking out about her experience to fight the stigma and to let other women know that even in isolated places, treatment is possible.

Her message has traveled the world. Two years ago, she came to Washington and urged members of Congress to support maternal health programs worldwide. And today, the United States is proud once again to support the work of the UN Population Fund. But one advocate, even one with such passion and commitment, can only do so much. Every woman everywhere deserves high-quality care not only at her most vulnerable hour, but at every single stage of life. That’s our goal and that’s our responsibility.

Our responsibility? UN Population Fund?

It is also a matter of simple equity and fairness. I’ve been in many places in many parts of the world where the rich, the educated, the well off, the connected, the powerful, the elite had access to every single form of healthcare. And yet it was denied – denied by law, denied by culture, denied by taboo, denied by regulation, denied by resources to the vast majority of women in the same societies. That is unacceptable.

So part of what we need to do is not only provide services to those who need them, but to change the minds and attitudes of those who can be responsible for delivering those services in countries around the world. I have said in many different settings on, I guess, every continent except Antarctica that the rights that women who have a position in society are able to command cannot, therefore, be denied to the women who live down the street or care for their children or clean their homes or plant their crops, and that we have to do a better job of making the equity argument on behalf of girls and women, and particularly on behalf of the Cairo agenda.

I’m very optimistic and very committed that we can do this together, and I am very grateful for what so many of you have done for so many years. You have ridden the ups and you have survived the downs. You have worked in favorable political environments and unfavorable ones. You have seen the Mexico City policy come and go, and you have stayed true. You’ve stayed true to your commitment, your passion, your belief that every single child in this country – boy or girl – deserves a chance to live up to his or her God-given potential.

I just want to urge that we do not grow weary. I don’t about you, but sometimes it can seem a little bit hard to take. It is also self-evident; it seems so obvious to the rest of us that this needs to be done, and we keep encountering obstacles of every shape and size. But please, stay with us and let’s try to create institutional and structural change that does not get wiped away when the political winds blow. Let’s try to create markets for these goods and ways of funding them and educational and instructional programs along with our commitment to serve that will give women everywhere a chance to take their own lives and their own futures into their own hands.

It is now my great pleasure – you’ve met two of my wonderful team members. I want to introduce two more whom I see. One is Raj Shah, Dr. Raj Shah, our new superb Administrator of USAID. (Applause.) Raj, come here. Come here, Raj. (Applause.)

We want you to get to meet him if you don’t know him. We want you to support him as he makes the changes that are necessary to put USAID back in the forefront of world development agencies.

And now it’s my honor to introduce our Under Secretary Maria Otero. And maybe, Maria, you and Raj could say a few words to close out the program. (Applause.)

Blah, blah, blah. It sounds great doesn't it? But it's really only about one thing here. Abortion. Why? It will save Governments money, and it will save the Planet. Of course the ICPD is happy.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton delivered a major speech today to mark the 15th anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD). Her strong message showed top-level U.S. Government support for the ICPD and other such UN goals, including the Millennium Development Goals, by 2015. These include achieving universal access to reproductive healthcare (RH) and education (especially for girls), and reductions in maternal and child mortality.

But Secretary Clinton's address today indicated much more - a commitment to women and girls' health and progress worldwide, which in turn relates to development and climate change. "It signals a critical five-year window to not only achieve the ICPD objectives, but also make tremendous gains on global environmental and climate sustainability," said Vicky Markham, Director of the Center for Environment and Population (CEP).

Are you getting this?

This is because the world's environment and development issues are inextricably linked so new, strong U.S. commitment to the ICPD's principles is also critical to achieving environmental sustainability worldwide. Now, changes to global climate, water and forest resources, species' habitat and biological diversity are all occurring in unprecedented ways from human activities. "Strong, clear U.S. leadership to achieve the ICPD goals for women's health and equality is one sure way to maintain an important balance between people and nature on our finite planet," said Ms. Markham.

Secretary Clinton paved the way for renewed U.S. leadership on the ICPD for the development reasons mentioned above and as a viable means to achieving environmental sustainability - that is, to help curb climate change, provide clean water to the 1 billion that lack access to it, restore forests as "carbon sinks" and habitat to numerous plants and animals, and begin to alter land use and rapid sprawling development which leads to increased use of fossil fuels and climate change.

While many international forums have reaffirmed the ICPD "Cairo Consensus", including the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women and the UN Millennium Development Goals, the U.S. has fallen behind in its leadership on these reproductive health issues. Paralleled with this is the lack of strong U.S. leadership on key environmental treaties on climate, water and biodiversity.

But, change is in the air. Secretary Clinton's compelling support now indicates the U.S. is poised to take a leadership role on critical RH/FP, education and maternal and child health issues. The U.S. needs to show similar leadership on global climate, water, forests and biodiversity issues. "When combined, U.S. leadership on the ICPD and major environmental treaties and commitments to sustainability are all mutually reinforcing, representing renewed commitment to these cornerstones of population and development policies for the international community," said Ms. Markham.

Recent polls show that a majority of Americans across the ideological spectrum strongly support the principles in the worldwide consensus reached at the ICPD, including providing voluntary family planning and reproductive health services. Likewise, polls show they support environmental sustainability.

That is COMPLETELY untrue. Completely untrue.

Millions of lives have been improved and saved through effective and affordable reproductive health programs, which have proven to prevent the deaths of women and children, reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS, grow economies, and preserve natural resources.

"Secretary Clinton today provided a much needed boost to a decade's lag on promoting women's and girl's issues as key components of international development and environmental stability. Now let's join her, and take it down the home stretch to 2015," Ms. Markham said.

Reuters had a story Fri Sep 18, 2009, Contraception vital in climate change fight: expert This is what Liberal REALLY think.

Leo Bryant, a lead researcher on a World Health Organisation study on population growth and climate change, said the stigma attached to birth control in both developing and developed countries was hindering vital progress.

"We are certainly not advocating that governments should start telling people how many children they can have," said Bryant, an advocacy manager at the family planning group Marie Stopes International, who wrote a commentary in the Lancet medical journal on Friday.

You would LOVE to. Pelsoi even said so. It will save money if these poor and undesirable people would just stop having kids. Now we learn, it will also save the planet.

"The ability to choose your family size...is a fundamental human right. But lack of access to family planning means millions of people in developing countries don't have that right," he told Reuters.

Bryant's study of climate change adaptation plans by governments in the world's 40 poorest countries showed that almost all of them link rapid population growth to environmental impact, but only six had proposed steps to tackle it.

"Acknowledgement of the problem is widespread, but resolve to address seems to be very much a minority sport," he said.

Bryant said 200 million women across the world want contraceptives, but cannot get them. Addressing this need would slow population growth and reduce demographic pressure on the environment.

In most countries with good access to birth control, average family sizes shrink dramatically within a generation, he said. But policymakers in rich donor nations are wary of talking about contraception for fear of being accused of advocating draconian ideas like sterilization or one-child policies.

Bryant's comments echo those by the head of Britain's science academy Martin Rees, who told Reuters this month that the stigma holding women back from getting access to birth control must be removed to reduce the impact of rising populations on climate change.

The world's population is forecast to rise by one third to more than 9 billion people by 2050, with 95 percent of this growth in developing countries.

In a study to be published in the WHO Bulletin in November, Bryant and colleagues said that population growth in poorer nations was unlikely to increase global warming significantly, as their carbon emissions are relatively low. But overpopulation combined with climate change would worsen living conditions by degrading natural resources, they said.

Climate change can also not only cause more natural disasters such as storms, but force people to live in areas at risk of floods, drought and disease.

Bryant said health policies targeting family planning must be combined projects to educate people about sustainable farming and land management.

"Then the gains that you make in environmental sustainability in the immediate term are going to be protected in the long term against a rapidly growing population," he said.

"Chirica" Population Control, Pelosi's Stimulus Idea?

Here is a brief history of the Chinese Population Control Program

August 1956, vigorous propaganda support was given to the Ministry of Public Health's mass birth control efforts. These efforts, however, had little impact on fertility. After the interval of the Great Leap Forward, Chinese leaders again saw rapid population growth as an obstacle to development, and their interest in birth control revived. In the early 1960s, propaganda, somewhat more muted than during the first campaign, emphasized the virtues of late marriage. Birth control offices were set up in the central government and some provinciallevel governments in 1964. The second campaign was particularly successful in the cities, where the birth rate was cut in half during the 1963-66 period. The chaos of the Cultural Revolution brought the program to a halt, however.

In 1972 and 1973 the party mobilized its resources for a nationwide birth control campaign administered by a group in the State Council. Committees to oversee birth control activities were established at all administrative levels and in various collective enterprises. This extensive and seemingly effective network covered both the rural and the urban population. In urban areas public security headquarters included population control sections. In rural areas the country's "barefoot doctors" distributed information and contraceptives to people's commun members. By 1973 Mao Zedong was personally identified with the family planning movement, signifying a greater leadership commitment to controlled population growth than ever before. Yet until several years after Mao's death in 1976, the leadership was reluctant to put forth directly the rationale that population control was necessary for economic growth and improved living standards.

Population growth targets were set for both administrative units and individual families. In the mid-1970s the maximum recommended family size was two children in cities and three or four in the country. Since 1979 the government has advocated a one child limit for both rural and urban areas and has generally set a maximum of two children in special circumstances. As of 1986 the policy for minority nationalities was two children per couple, three in special circumstances, and no limit for ethnic groups with very small populations. The overall goal of the one-child policy was to keep the total population within 1.2 billion through the year 2000, on the premise that the Four Modernizations program would be of little value if population growth was not brought under control.

The one-child policy was a highly ambitious population control program. Like previous programs of the 1960s and 1970s, the one child policy employed a combination of propaganda, social pressure, and in some cases coercion. The one-child policy was unique, however, in that it linked reproduction with economic cost or benefit.

Under the one-child program, a sophisticated system rewarded those who observed the policy and penalized those who did not. Couples with only one child were given a "one-child certificate" entitling them to such benefits as cash bonuses, longer maternity leave, better child care, and preferential housing assignments. In return, they were required to pledge that they would not have more children. In the countryside, there was great pressure to adhere to the one-child limit. Because the rural population accounted for approximately 60 percent of the total, the effectiveness of the one-child policy in rural areas was considered the key to the success or failure of the program as a whole.

In rural areas the day-to-day work of family planning was done by cadres at the team and brigade levels who were responsible for women's affairs and by health workers. The women's team leader made regular household visits to keep track of the status of each family under her jurisdiction and collected information on which women were using contraceptives, the methods used, and which had become pregnant. She then reported to the brigade women's leader, who documented the information and took it to a monthly meeting of the commune birth-planning committee. According to reports, ceilings or quotas had to be adhered to; to satisfy these cutoffs, unmarried young people were persuaded to postpone marriage, couples without children were advised to "wait their turn," women with unauthorized pregnancies were pressured to have abortions, and those who already had children were urged to use contraception or undergo sterilization. Couples with more than one child were exhorted to be sterilized.

The one-child policy enjoyed much greater success in urban than in rural areas. Even without state intervention, there were compelling reasons for urban couples to limit the family to a single child. Raising a child required a significant portion of family income, and in the cities a child did not become an economic asset until he or she entered the work force at age sixteen. Couples with only one child were given preferential treatment in housing allocation. In addition, because city dwellers who were employed in state enterprises received pensions after retirement, the sex of their first child was less important to them than it was to those in rural areas.

Numerous reports surfaced of coercive measures used to achieve the desired results of the one-child policy. The alleged methods ranged from intense psychological pressure to the use of physical force, including some grisly accounts of forced abortions and infanticide. Chinese officials admitted that isolated, uncondoned abuses of the program occurred and that they condemned such acts, but they insisted that the family planning program was administered on a voluntary basis using persuasion and economic measures only. International reaction to the allegations were mixed. The UN Fund for Population Activities and the International Planned Parenthood Association were generally supportive of China's family planning program. The United States Agency for International Development, however, withdrew US$10 million from the Fund in March 1985 based on allegations that coercion had been used.

Here is Speaker of the House Pelosi. The following exchange between Pelosi and George Stephanopoulos came on Sunday morning last week, during ABC's THIS WEEK:

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So no apologies for that?

PELOSI: No apologies. No. We have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy.

Not only would Pelosi and the Libs HERE love to enact something like this in America, they want to do it around the world. {Laughing} Want to save the Planet? Wear a Condom, or if need be, get an Abortion. What ever you do, just do not have any more kids. Don't worry, if you can't, others will pay for it. Even if you live in another country.

Newsy, New Friends of The OPN

Great site. Great Videos

Hey folks,

Just this past Thursday, I posted this. More Signs We are Back From The Brink I said this.

If you are like me, you were confused during the Bush years. The Economy was bursting, record high home ownerships, Stock Market closing at record high numbers, Lowest Unemployment in YEARS, yet we kept being told how bad everything was. Seriously, all over the Media, there were stories of pending doom.

Then when there really WAS a problem identified in the Mortgage Industry, with Fannie and Freddie, yet ANY attempt to regulated them was shot down by the Dems. Then it was heading for bust. What did those same Dems do? PROTECTED Fannie and Freddie again. But yet, the Economy was still going right along, and would have continued had the Government NOT gotten into the Bailout Business.

TRILLIONS spent. Things are getting worse. People are still losing their Homes, Jobs, and are unable to get credit. Yet, to cover for this insanity, we have a President come out and tell us, "We are back from the brink." "We saved or created 60,000 jobs." We have the Media NOW telling us, we are doing great. "We have a ways to go, but imagine what would have happened if we did nothing." They are telling us stories of how being unemployed is HEALTHY for us. How double digit unemployment may be the new norm, and that's not really a bad thing. Maybe in the Obamanation, but NOT in America.

I went on to tell you how ten States now are facing HUGE financial hardships. Well, I go an Email from Rosa from Newsy.com who said this.

Hi Peter

You Are About To Fund Our Enemy

US to PAY Our Enemy Not to Attack Us.

Hey folks,

I do not even know where to begin with this one. According to CNN - U.S. set to pay Taliban members to switch sides By Ed Hornick, CNN October 28, 2009 6:19 p.m. EDT

President Obama on Wednesday signed a $680 billion defense appropriations bill, which will pay for military operations in the 2010 fiscal year. The bill includes a Taliban reintegration provision under the Commander's Emergency Response Program, which is now receiving $1.3 billion. CERP funding also is intended for humanitarian relief and reconstruction projects at commanders' discretion.

Yup. YOU, via your tax money will be going to FUND our enemy. Those that have increased attack on our Soldiers, and INCREASED fighting and attacks all over Afghanistan, since Obama took over as Surrender Monkey and Chief. Record high US casualties in Afghanistan and a General crying out loud, WE NEED BACKUP. What is Obama's plan? Instead of sending more Troops to actually WIN, we are going to pay them off.

I can hear them in the back rooms now. "Hey, it worked for the Italians. Let's try that. It may tick off normal Americans, but if we do not send more Troops, our Kook Base will still support our INSANE Agenda. It will buy us more time at least." {Sigh}

What they are thinking about is this. According to the Daily Express - ITALIANS PAID TALIBAN NOT TO ATTACK THEM

A Taliban commander and Afghan officials confirmed that Italian forces paid protection money in Sarobi, east of Kabul.

But when French troops replaced the Italians last year, no one told them of the deal.

The local Taliban assumed the agreement was over – and in August last year slaughtered 10 French soldiers. In contrast, the Italians lost one soldier in the whole of the previous year.

So FORGET actually sending in more Troops. LET'S PAY THEM OFF. CNN Reports this.

The buyout idea, according to the Sen. Carl Levin, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, is to separate local Taliban from their leaders, replicating a program used to neutralize the insurgency against Americans in Iraq.

"Afghan leaders and our military say that local Taliban fighters are motivated largely by the need for a job or loyalty to the local leader who pays them and not by ideology or religious zeal," Levin said in a Senate floor speech on September 11. "They believe an effort to attract these fighters to the government's side could succeed, if they are offered security for themselves and their families, and if there is no penalty for previous activity against us."

ABSOLUTELY INSANE and INSULTING. On the anniversary of the deadliest attack on US soil, we have an insane KOOK in charge of the Senate Armed Services Committee, saying we need to FORGIVE, PAY OFF, and PROTECT, our Enemies. Yeah, That's the way to win a War. But it's NOT going to work. History tells us this.

According to someone that KNOWS, Conor Foley guardian.co.uk, Wednesday 28 October 2009, he asks, How many more aid workers will die?

This view that the delivery of aid will "buy hearts and minds" in Afghanistan has long been a mantra that the military use to fool the foolish. Variations of the theme have been repeated for the last seven years, despite the fact that it has self-evidently been a catastrophic failure. It was this theory which led to the deployment of military-led Provincial Reconstruction Teams around the country in 2003/2004 rather than the deployment of a properly resourced international peace-keeping force. Aid has been poured into areas where the insurgency is strongest and there is a direct relationship between the provinces which have received the most aid and those that are now de facto under Taliban control.

Rather than distribute aid according to criteria such as objective need or where it can do some good, troop-contributing countries channel it to areas where they have soldiers. Aid is effectively being used as a bribe to try to persuade people in these areas not to attack foreign troops. The most notorious example of this was highlighted a few weeks ago when it emerged that Italian commanders had been making regular payments to the Taliban to keep an area "quiet", but had neglected to tell the French battalion to whom they handed over responsibility – with the result that 10 French soldiers were killed in a massacre. However, such arrangements are fairly standard and the British have admitted arranging similar payments themselves.

If the strategy were effective, it might have some merit; but it is not. Criminal gangs shake down private contractors by threatening to stage attacks on them unless they get paid off. There is some evidence that it may even have spread the insurgency to previously quiet areas in order to attract aid. In the meantime, militias are reforming themselves into private security companies and hiring themselves out to contractors who use them to prove that they can get "aid" into areas of the countries where the NGOs refuse to work.

The crazy result of this strategy is that western taxpayers are probably indirectly funding the enemy that our troops are fighting. We are also helping to rearm the country's militias and weaken the authority of Afghanistan's central government – because of quite justified corruption concerns. The alternative is to tackle the problems head-on. Afghanistan is being governed by crooks and war criminals, many of whom should be in prison rather than their presidential palaces. There is no middle way between propping them up and facing them down. The latter strategy is certainly high-risk and it may be too late to attempt it now. But the former strategy has demonstrably failed, time and again, and will have to be abandoned eventually.

How many more innocent lives will be lost before we admit to this?

This from a guy that USE to believe that buying them off would work. Now, after losing some close friends and SEEING first hand that it is a failed strategy, he is warning against it.

That is not stopping the Liberal Loons in our Government from floating the idea of paying off the enemy. Clinton has even popped up again. Did you catch that? Yeah, I know most think that John Kerry is now the Secretary of State, by he's not. Clinton is. Well, on the books that is. Yes she is in Pakistan telling Students they have to chose a side.

In a lively give-and-take with students at the Government College of Lahore, Clinton said inaction by the government would have amounted to ceding ground to terrorists.

"If you want to see your territory shrink, that's your choice," she said, adding that she believed it would be a bad choice.

Clinton likened Pakistan's situation — with Taliban forces taking over substantial swaths of land in the Swat valley and in areas along the Afghan border — to a theoretical advance of terrorists into the United States from across the Canadian border. It would be unthinkable, she said, for the U.S. government to decide, "Let them have Washington (state)" first, then Montana, then the sparsely populated Dakotas, because those states are far from the major centers of population and power on the East Coast.

She said this.

"We are now at a point where we can chart a different course," she said, referring to past differences over an absence of democracy in Pakistan and Pakistani association with the Taliban in Afghanistan.

I guess she left out that the different course will be the US PAYING, in reality, FUNDING our Enemies, enabling them to attack us, and others, more efficiently.

Folks, I know some of you do not like this. But there is only ONE way to win a War. Kill more of them, break more of their stuff, than they do of you and yours. Peace is NEVER achieved without force. THAT is reality. Our Enemies know it. It's time our Cowards in charge LEARN IT!

Iran Elections Tomorrow, NOTHING Is Going To Change

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad not going anywhere.

Hey folks,

Yes Iran has it's Presidential Election Tomorrow. Some people are making a really big deal about this. Times Online has a interesting piece today. When you read it, it almost sounds like they are talking about us. Protesters complaining about unfair Airtime, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has support of the rural poor and religiously devout, and is thought to have the backing of the Supreme Leader as well as the Revolutionary Guards and the volunteer Basij militia. His opponent has the support of the urban middle-classes.Talks of Vote rigging, unrest if a Candidate loses. ETC.

It almost sounds like one of our elections. But it's NOT. I would be willing to bet you that Little Hitler {Mahmoud Ahmadinejad} is NOT going anywhere. He DOES have the support of the Supreme Leader, Revolutionary Guards, and the Basij militia, who ALL BELIEVE WHAT HE TELLS THEM TO BELIEVE. What does Little Hitler say about his opponent? He is an "American sympathiser." He said this.

“Bush said ‘You don’t need nuclear power’,” he declared. “My opponents asked why we needed nuclear power. They were echoing the words of our enemies. But Iran has become a nuclear state despite them, and it is a great and honourable achievement.”

The crowd broke into deafening chants — “Ahmadi, we love you” and “Nuclear energy is our right, Mousavi, go, we don’t want an American sympathiser, shame on you, Hashemi."

Now notice it was Little Hitler himself that called America Iran's ENEMY. NOT the Right in this country. Not me. Not Bush. It was Ahmadinejad. He also said this.

“You see the lies, the accusations against me? Libel is a crime. They should be punished.”

“Even if all the great powers and Zionists were ready with their guns I will take the message of the Iranian people to the world.”

“Oh Great and Compassionate God, sit the Iranian nation on the roof of the world.”

As one, the crowd responded: “Thank you, thank you, our President.”

In a TV debate June 3, 2009, between Little Hitler and his opponent. He made this statement. I point this out for a reason.

"I took a stand with regard to the issue of the Holocaust. Both the leader and the people approved this stand."

Yeah you remember that? He is a Holocaust Denier. He is telling us that the Supreme Leader was behind him on this. He has also said that he will wipe Israel off the map. He is ACTIVELY engaged in creating a Nuclear Bomb, launching Rockets that could carry it, and OUR President? Is telling Israel. We will not back you if you attack Iran. Running around apologizing to Muslims, and saying that we will give money to Muslim Lead countries to help educate their Females.

Then the Picture. Did you hear about this? The White House released a picture taken by the White House photographer of Obama on the phone with Benjamin Netanyahu, who is the Prime Minister of Israel. So? The main focus of the picture was Obama, with his feet up on the Oval Office desk, with the sole of his shoes facing out. In other words, "showing his sole of his shoe" to Benjamin Netanyahu . An extreme insult in the Middle East.

Couple that with him dissing Israel, telling Israel they have to break up their country for peace, and one report I just saw said he is warning Israel he will blame THEM if they attack Iran, and all the other stuff he has been doing and saying?

Folks, nothing is going to change in Iran tomorrow. NOTHING. Little Hitler is not going anywhere. He will continue to pursue his Nuclear quest, which Obama also said he has a legitimate right to do, and will continue to threaten to wipe Israel off the map.

Like I said before. If I were Israel? If I were Prime Minister Netanyahu? I would be fueling the Jets. I would be getting the Bombs in place. I would be mapping out my attack. If I were Israel, listening to what Obama is saying, watching what Obama is doing, I would be getting the feeling that Obama is more friendly toward Ahmadinejad, and Islamic Terrorists, than he is with a long standing Ally, Israel.

Obama is sounding more and more like a bigger danger to Israel and Jews than the Whack Job, James W. von Brunn, that just went into the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and started shooting people. Why? One is a sole Madman, and one is the President of the most powerful Country on the Planet. Someone really needs to tell Obama, if he does not want this image that is starting to form about him being a Anti-Semite, he had better start proving people wrong.

No folks, nothing is going to change in Iran. Little Hitler is not going anywhere. I give Times Online credit. It is a good piece. But make no mistake about it. Iran's President is already picked. He IS Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Swine Flu Update 050409

UPDATE: CDC Update: H1N1

Hey folks,

Happy Monday to you. First up, your CDC Update for Monday 050409, then my thoughts on who Obama will pick for the Supreme Court. Lot's of talk about it yesterday, as I'm sure there will be until the day he announces his choice. It will be a Liberal though. That much all can agree on. More on that in a second.

Here is your Swine Flu Update for today

CDC continues to take aggressive action to respond to an expanding outbreak caused by novel H1N1 flu.

CDC’s response goals are to:

Reduce transmission and illness severity, and Provide information to help health care providers, public health officials and the public address the challenges posed by this emergency.

CDC continues to issue and update interim guidance daily in response to the rapidly evolving situation. CDC will issue updated interim guidance for clinicians on how to identify and care for people who are sick with novel H1N1 flu illness. This guidance will provide priorities for testing and treatment for novel H1N1 flu infection. The priority use for influenza antiviral drugs during this outbreak will be to treat people with severe flu illness.

On May 3, CDC is scheduled to complete deployment of 25 percent of the supplies in the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) to all states in the continental United States. These supplies and medicines will help states and U.S. territories respond to the outbreak. In addition, the Federal Government and manufacturers have begun the process of developing a vaccine against the novel H1N1 flu virus.

Response actions are aggressive, but they may vary across states and communities depending on local circumstances. Communities, businesses, places of worship, schools and individuals can all take action to slow the spread of this outbreak. People who are sick are urged to stay home from work or school and to avoid contact with others, except to seek medical care. This action can avoid spreading illness further.

Obama, Global Warming, Space Gun

So What happens IF Obama is successful?

Hey folks,

I can't believe this, but anyone with an IQ over ten, understands that we have now entered a cooling cycle. GWBS is exactly that, BS. A Scam. More and more Scientists are coming out and telling us that we have not been warming since 98, and as a matter of fact, we are now in a changing cycle that is heading toward cooling temperatures.

But that does not stop Obama and Crew from pushing this immediate threat of us turning into a Great Ball of Fire, if we do nothing. So Obama and his top Science Adviser, have announced a plan to cool the planet. I have a question, and a possible prediction on all of this.

First the announcement. You really can't make this up folks. From Time.com - Obama Looking at Cooling Air to Fight Warming By AP / SETH BORENSTEIN Thursday, Apr. 09, 2009

(WASHINGTON) — Tinkering with Earth's climate to chill runaway global warming — a radical idea once dismissed out of hand — is being discussed by the White House as a potential emergency option, the president's new science adviser said Wednesday.

That's because global warming is happening so rapidly, John Holdren told The Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month
.

"That's because global warming is happening so rapidly," NO IT'S NOT!. It is NOT even warming at all. {Sigh}

The concept of using technology to purposely cool the climate is called geoengineering. One option raised by Holdren and proposed by a Nobel Prize-winning scientist includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays.

{Laughing} Yes you read that correctly.

Using such an experimental measure is only being thought of as a last resort, Holdren said.

"It's got to be looked at," he said. "We don't have the luxury ... of ruling any approach off the table."

His concern is that the United States and other nations won't slow global warming fast enough and that several "tipping points" could be fast approaching. Once such milestones are reached, such as complete loss of summer sea ice in the Arctic, it increases chances of "really intolerable consequences," he said.

PROVE IT! He can't of course. But you are making the claim, PROVE IT.

Twice in a half-hour interview, Holdren compared global warming to being "in a car with bad brakes driving toward a cliff in the fog."

Can you say, "following a script?"

He and many experts believe that warming of a few degrees more would lead to disastrous drought conditions and food shortages in some regions, rising seas and more powerful coastal storms in others.

The temperature is NOT rising. The Sea levels are not rising. None of this is true. Where has this Idiot been? He seems to have an outdated script. Even some Global Warming "subscribers" are talking about this. They can not deny the facts.

At first, Holdren characterized the potential need to technologically tinker with the climate as just his personal view. However, he went on to say he has raised it in administration discussions.

"We're talking about all these issues in the White House," Holdren said. "There's a very vigorous process going on of discussing all the options for addressing the energy climate challenge."

Holdren said discussions include Cabinet officials and heads of sub-Cabinet level agencies, such as NASA and the Environmental Protection Agency.

The 65-year-old physicist is far from alone in taking geoengineering seriously. The National Academy of Sciences is making it the subject of the first workshop in its new climate challenges program for policymakers, scientists and the public. The British Parliament has also discussed the idea. At an international meeting of climate scientists last month in Copenhagen, 15 talks dealt with different aspects of geoengineering.

The American Meteorological Society is crafting a policy statement that says "it is prudent to consider geoengineering's potential, to understand its limits and to avoid rash deployment."

Yeah. Let's start with this.

A- GW is BS
B- DO you really know how much Sulfur you will have to shoot up to block out the LIFE GIVING Sun? To effect all the worlds temperatures?
C- What do we do with all the acid rain?
D- What if AFTER you do this, a giant Volcano erupts? Where is the thermostat? How do we turn the temps back up?
E- OH, did I mention THERE IS NO GLOBAL WARMING?

Last week, Princeton scientist Robert Socolow told the National Academy that geoengineering should be an available option in case climate worsens dramatically.

Holdren, a 1981 winner of a MacArthur Foundation "genius" grant, outlined these possible geoengineering options:

"Genius." Yeah right.

Shooting sulfur particles (like those produced by power plants and volcanoes, for example) into the upper atmosphere, an idea that gained steam when it was proposed by Nobel laureate Paul Crutzen in 2006. It would be "basically mimicking the effect of volcanoes in screening out the incoming sunlight," Holdren said.

I thought all those Power Planets, were CAUSING Global Warming. Along with cows farting, and us BREATHING. Now it's a GOOD THING? So what's the problem?

— Creating artificial "trees" — giant towers that suck carbon dioxide out of the air and store it.

The first approach would "try to produce a cooling effect to offset the heating effect of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases," Holdren said.

But he said there could be grave side effects. Studies suggest that might include eating away a large chunk of the ozone layer above the poles and causing the Mediterranean and the Mideast to be much drier.

And those are just the predicted problems. Scientists say they worry about side effects that they don't anticipate.

While the idea could strike some people as too risky, the Obama administration could get unusual support on the idea from groups that have often denied the harm of global warming in the past.

Says who?

The conservative think tank American Enterprise Institute has its own geoengineering project, saying it could be "feasible and cost-effective." And Cato Institute scholar Jerry Taylor said Wednesday: "Very few people would rule out geoengineering on its face."

Holdren didn't spell out under what circumstances such extreme measures might ever be called for. And he emphasized they are not something to rely on.

"It would be preferable by far," he said, "to solve this problem by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases."

Yet there is already significant opposition building to the House Democratic leaders' bill aimed at achieving President Barack Obama's goal of cutting greenhouse gas emissions 20 percent by 2020 and 80 percent by 2050.

Because there is no need. It's Oppressive, unconstitutional, and will bankrupt industries that we, believe it or not, REALLY can not live without.

Holdren said temperatures should be kept from rising more than 3.6 degrees. To get there, he said the U.S. and other industrial nations have to begin permanent dramatic cuts in carbon dioxide pollution by 2015, with developing countries following suit within a decade.

Those efforts are racing against three tipping points he cited: Earth could be as close as six years away from the loss of Arctic summer sea ice, he said, and that has the potential of altering the climate in unforeseen ways. Other elements that could dramatically speed up climate change include the release of frozen methane from thawing permafrost in Siberia, and more and bigger wildfires worldwide.

The trouble is that no one knows when these things are coming, he said.

I do. NOTHING! Now the prediction. Since we ARE in a global cooling cycle, they will keep up this nonsense for a little bit, then declare victory over Global Warming. Hell, they may even build their space gun, launch, shoot, whatever, some harmless dust up there, the say "Hey it Worked. Obama saved the Planet." However, since we can not be allowed to put this world at risk again, none of the regulations and programs will go away. They will stay as a precaution and people will continue to make a lot of money.

AIG Rage Is A Show

"Why have you not talked about AIG?"

Hey folks,

OK, OK, OK. You want to know why I do not talk about the AIG mess? It really is just this simple. I can not get down to the level of those in Congress that are so "outraged" that they want to create new laws to go after Private Citizens. My intellect just can not sink this low. I know some of you will not like this answer, but I'm not kidding.

You can not apply logic, truth, or any kind of intelligent debate to this. You have a group of people that just either think you are completely brain dead, or they just simply do not care. Or both. Their ability to lie straight to your face in the direct contradiction to the truth is mind-boggling. It really is.

We have President Obama yesterday talking about the "outrage" over the AIG Bonuses. An unnamed reporter asks him "What about the $100 Grand you got from AIG?" His response? "What? I can't hear you." {Laughing} I'm not kidding. That was his answer. Then he never did answer the question. It was like he was 5, sticking his fingers in his ears going "Na, na, na, na, na, I can't hear you."

What about all the money that these people, the Hard Left, the LWL {Far Left Wing Loons} got from AIG? Are they going to return it? What about little Timmy Geithner who was standing right behind Obama yesterday when Obama said "No one here had anything to do with this?" Little Timmy is the one who designed the AIG bailout and was charged with oversight of the company. He knew about the Bonuses, some of the very same people that are now investigating this KNEW about the bonuses BEFORE they were even paid. Yet Obama says "No one here had anything to do with this?"

Then you have to add into this whole mess, Fannie and Freddie. As I pointed out to you before, even posted the Video of them in their own words, it was the Democrats that protected Fannie and Freddie. It was the Democrats that made money off of Fannie and Freddie. It IS Frank and the rest of them that allowed this to happen.

Now we learn that Fannie and Freddie are about to pay out Bonuses. $650 Grand plus. So where is the "outrage" over this? Are they stopping this? Obama and the rest got a lot of money from them as well. Will they do the right thing and return THAT money? Don't hold your breath.

No folks, this is all show. The "outrage" is phony. Their threats to create new laws to go after Private Citizens with the full weight and authority of the US Government is just down right scary. Meanwhile their complete and utter dismissal of any responsibility in this mess, and their willingness to come straight out and lie about their role is completely ridiculous.

As Hillary Clinton once said, it takes a “willing suspension of disbelief” to accept what these Idiots are trying to sell you. But the sad thing is, there are a lot of people out there that will believe them. I have learned that for the Obamaid drinkers, it is nearly pointless to present them with truth and facts. Even Videos and recordings of them in their own words, does not get those that are all for Obama, to see the light. It is far easier for a lot of them to simply accept what they are told and believe in the Dream.

So why have I not talked about the AIG mess? I'm not really sure that there is even a point. Until more Americans wake up, and start actually looking at this mess with Logic and Reason, they will continue to get away with what they do. Until more of you out there, and some in Congress, start calling these people out, and hold them accountable for their actions, they will continue to further their agendas. Elections and ignorance has consequences. It really is just that simple.

Spiderman's New Sidekick, Obama?

Preview for Sunday 011109

Hey folks,

Sorry for the late start today. WAY late start. Some family things to take care of. But I am here now.

So Spidey seems to have a new side kick? Obama. Folks, this is too insane for me even for the YCMTSU category. I'm not kidding. According to Miami Examiner - Get your Obama issue of Spider-Man on January 14; special bonus from Marvel Comics

In the issue Peter Parker, Spider-Man’s alter-ego, is photographing the inauguration and notices there are two identical Obamas. Spider-Man uses basketball to determine the real Obama, punches out the imposter and Obama thanks him with a fist-bump.

Check out this Video.

A friend of mine had an interesting take on this. Remember Nahool the Bee? Could this be an attempt to get kids into looking at Obama as some kind of bigger than life Superhero? To get kids to fall in love with Obama? He who controls the youth, controls the future. Interesting point of view.

Could it just be the fact that there are so many people in this country that are completely obsessed with Obama that they cannot even think rationally whenever his name is mentioned? I do not know, but this is completely insane to me.

Anyway, coming right up today.

You Can't Make This Stuff Up 083108

Maybe it really is Obiden?

Hey folks,

Simply put, I just found this funny. Short, sweet, and humours. It appears that Obama and Biden have more in common than anyone though. Perhaps even themselves.

According to the AFP - Obama, Biden descended from Irish cobblers: researcher

Both US presidential hopeful Barack Obama and running mate Joseph Biden are descended from shoemakers who emigrated from Ireland within five weeks of each other, a researcher said Friday.

US genealogist Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak said the two politicians' ancestors set off for the United States in April and May 1849, joining up to 1.5 million other Irish who fled their island's devastating 1845-49 potato famine.

Last year, Smolenyak Smolenyak, who lives in New Jersey, traced Obama's maternal Kearney family roots to Moneygall in County Offaly.

Now she believes that Biden's great-great-grandfather, Owen Finnegan, most likely emigrated from Carlingford in County Louth, which borders on Northern Ireland.

"In the case of both Biden and Obama's family, what's interesting is that the gentlemen in the family left in 1849 and then their families followed in 1850," Smolenyak Smolenyak told RTE public radio.

"What is even more peculiar is that both of the progenitors were shoemakers."

About 34 million Americans claim an Irish connection.

Smolenyak Smolenyak? Is that even a real name? Not picking, just wondering. At first I thought it was a typo, but twice? No. Make that four times? {Smile} Anyway, I guess we can now find it safe to assume that they are perfect for each other, and we can also forget the millions both have and the houses that both have. They can relate to the common man because they both come from Shoe Makers. {Sigh}

No. I'm not going to ask the obvious question. I will leave that to you.

Be right back.

Gore, Obama, and the Coral Reef Fish

Why not the OTHER GWBS pushing Lib?

Hey folks,

Happy Tuesday. Getting back into the swing of things? Some in the GWBS {Global Warming Bul,,well, you can figure it out. {Smile}} are still playing the game by the old rules. I guess James Cook and Philip Munday didn't get the memo.

First up though Father Al. In a letter to be sent to Obama Supporters Father Al wrote this.

"From now through Election Day, I intend to do whatever I can to make sure he is elected president of the United States. Over the past 18 months, Barack Obama has united a movement. He knows change does not come from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue or Capitol Hill. It begins when people stand up and take action," Gore wrote.

"With the help of millions of supporters like you, Barack Obama will bring the change we so desperately need in order to solve our country's most pressing problems."

The only problem Father Gore cares about is how much power control and money he can make from the GWBS. This is why I'm surprised that he did not go with McCain. He's a Lib. He is a bigger GWBS pusher than Obama is. Nearly every speech McCain has given lately, is all about GWBS.

Anyway, back to Idiots still using the same old Rhetoric. According to the AFP - Climate change threatens reef fish,

Climate change threatens to devastate coral reef fish populations and increase the likelihood of fishery collapses, Australian researchers warned Monday.

Coral reefs' vulnerability to global warming has already been established by researchers, but the fish living in the reefs are also at risk, James Cook University's Centre for Excellence in Coral Reef Studies found.

"We have already seen episodes of mass die-off of corals as a result of warmer waters associated with global warming, the problem for specialist coral fish is that when the corals die, the fish have nowhere else to go," the centre's Philip Munday said.

Problem is we are NOT warming. As a matter of fact, most agree that we will be getting cooler in the next ten to twelve years. The they go into the whole "What If" scenario. Which I have already pointed out to you is NOT science nor fact.

"If reefs have been extensively damaged or the composition of their corals altered due to global warming impacts, this process of re-stocking the reefs with fish may be disrupted," he said.

"At the same time, the baby fish are likely to be affected by changes in water temperature and the acidification of the oceans."

"IF, MAY, LIKELY"

"If reefs have been extensively damaged or the composition of their corals altered due to global warming impacts, this process of re-stocking the reefs with fish may be disrupted," he said.

"At the same time, the baby fish are likely to be affected by changes in water temperature and the acidification of the oceans."

IF an asteroid were to hit us, it MAY cause a dust cloud to skyrocket into the sky which is LIKELY to kill all living things in a period of time. Sounds logical. Sounds scary even. But there would HAVE to be an Asteroid FIRST. Then it would HAVE to hit us. The Dust would then HAVE to skyrocket into the sky blocking out the Sun, THEN and ONLY then, could we know IF this is a true statement.

Munday said some fish may migrate to cooler waters if temperatures around their reefs became too warm.

Oh? So they adapt?

But he said this was not an option in Australia's Great Barrier Reef because there was nowhere for new coral to grow in the deep waters to the south of the giant reef, regarded by scientists as the world's largest living organism.

"There is really nowhere for coral reefs and their associated fish communities to expand," he said.

"Effectively, this means that some coral reef fish species will be squeezed by rising water temperatures into smaller and smaller areas, making them more susceptible to disturbances such as coral bleaching and increasingly vulnerable to fishing and other forms of human activity."

{Sigh} There you have it folks. "other forms of human activity." We are evil. WE are destroying the planet. WE need to protect it from ourselves. These guys are nothing more than Enviro-Wackos.

The coral centre's paper, a synthesis of previous research, was published in the journal "Fish and Fisheries" and will discussed at an international symposium on coral reefs in Florida next month.

Gore, Obama, and the Coral Reef Fish. Sounds like a great 60's folk music band, but I'm not sure this qualifies them to run the country.

From The Emails 030708

Hey folks,

It's FRIDAY! Finally. It's time to go to the Emails. This is also post number 1000. A milestone here at the OPNTalk Blog. Thank you all, for taking this journey with me. I truly mean that.

This week was pretty difficult to chose. It really was. But I love this one. It's completely true. When you talk about Obama, and you ask someone what they like about him, they all pretty much say the same thing. "He's for change." Or "He is our best bet for the future." When you ask them why? They can not give you an answer. They are clueless who he really is.

Well, someone saw this and thought I might like it. It's from CNS News.com - Clueless in Obama Nation, By Robert Knight. Robert Knight is director of the Culture and Media Institute, a division of the Media Research Center, the parent organization of CNSNews.com

What if a presidential candidate claimed that his view on an issue drew its power from the Sermon on the Mount, which was delivered by no less an authority than Jesus Christ? What if that view contradicted 2,000 years of church moral teaching? Wouldn't this be a major news story?

It would if it involved a Republican. Or even another Democrat. But when it comes to Barack Obama, the media continue to ignore newsworthy topics and refuse to give the public substantive details about the senator's views on many key issues.

On Sunday, at Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio, Sen. Obama promoted homosexual legal civil unions in answer to a question posed by a pastor, and then threw out this challenge: "If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount, which I think is, in my mind, for my faith, more central than an obscure passage in Romans."

Not one major network covered this, nor did the wire services, nor did the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times or other major newspapers. The Post and Los Angeles Times had brief references on their blogs. CNSNews.com, by contrast, carried a comprehensive story, which was picked up by World Magazine and the Baptist Press. A couple of papers had a brief mention of Obama proclaiming that he is a Christian, not a Muslim, but that was it.

As far as the senator's unspecified interpretation of the Sermon on the Mount and his equally shocking dismissal of a key passage in the first chapter of the Book of Romans, talk about the politics of audacity.

The senator was right about Jesus reminding us of the inherent dignity of all human beings. We are supposed to love without measure. But this should include discouraging people from engaging in behaviors with known moral, social and health risks, not using government power to tempt them into error.

Can you imagine what the media reaction would be if, say, John McCain stated that he thought adultery ought to get special legal protection and that if anyone found it controversial, he or she should look up the Sermon on the Mount?

By the way, as of this writing, Sen. McCain has said no such thing. But I haven't yet checked tomorrow's New York Times, which might be running a front page story to this effect next to the article about the wisdom of wearing tinfoil hats when sunspots are active. The Times , if you recall, did find space on the front page recently for unsourced allegations about Sen. McCain and a lobbyist.

Well, there's always tomorrow. If the media want to look into the wisdom of Obama's remarks concerning homosexual legal unions and the Biblical foundations for such, they might want to know that the Bible is quite specific in several places, starting in Genesis, about what God thinks is the appropriate place for sex, which is marriage between a man and a woman.

Even the patriarchs who fooled around with more than one wife paid a price, and the men who took a fancy to other men did so as well, as indicated not only in Romans but in the less obscure passage in Genesis about the cities of the plain being destroyed with fire and brimstone after a mob of men tried to have their way with two male angels at Lot's house.

And lest reporters buy the current "gay theology" fad of attributing Sodom's sin to mere "inhospitality," here's an obscure passage from the Book of Jude: "Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." (Jude 7)

Obama pulled the classic straw man dodge of attacking the one passage in Romans as if this were the only thing the Bible had to say about homosexuality. He also cited the Sermon on the Mount, of course, which the senator has discovered is a handy gay-rights manual.

Think about this for a minute. This is about a lot more than the homosexual issue, as serious as that is. If Obama is right, it means that Moses, plus all Christian leaders over the last 20 centuries until very recently, have all been wrong, as are all the world's other major religions. Now that's news.

The media may be unwilling to cover this, however, for one of two reasons.

They don't think it's a story because, they, too, have had a special revelation from God that everybody until today has been wrong. Or,

They know that most Americans believe in God and that information like Obama's officially promoting sin as a civil right might be a little too interesting to some of them.

Either way, it's unlikely that we'll see some space or airtime for this story instead of the latest pictures of women fainting and grown men getting goose bumps at Obama rallies.

The Times , like Katie Couric and company, ain't a changing. At least, not over some obscure Bible passages.

Unbelievable. Isn't it? See you for another JAM PACKED Sunday. Have a great Weekend

Peter
