Just Forgetaboutit. We Don't Need No Watch Lists

ACLU at it again.

Hey folks,

That's right, the All Condescending Losers Union, ACLU, is now getting involved in our National Security. Former FBI agent Mike German, is now a "Terrorism Expert" with them. Well, he said that using the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB) of 400,000-plus names to screen Airline Passengers was not realistic, and added that it was “fundamentally ridiculous” to think the list was not flawed.

OK. So? What would he suppose we do? Drop it? He also made this statement.

“Putting 1.1 million people on a no-fly list when the evidence for putting them on there is in question, I think, isn’t the answer – it’s completely re-doing that list so that it only focuses on known terrorists,” he said. “There shouldn’t be anybody on that list who the FBI is not currently, and the other agencies, currently hunting down.”

There is one fundamental problem with this argument. Many problems, but the biggest one is this. According to Timothy J. Healy, director of the Justice Department’s Terrorist Screening Center, “the terrorist watch list is made up of approximately 400,000 people, ranging from suicide bombers to financiers. A small portion of the list is exported to TSA [the Transportation Security Administration] to create the No Fly list. In order to be placed on a No Fly list, a known or suspected terrorist must present a threat to civil aviation or national security.”

“Consequently, the No Fly list is a very small subset of the terrorist watch list,” Healy told the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Dec. 9. “It contains approximately 3,400 people. Of those, approximately 170 are U.S. citizens,”

Thus, the 3,400 people on the No Fly list represent less than 1 percent, or 0.85 percent, of the 400,000 people on the full “Terrorist Watchlist.”

So Mike German is complaining about 170 people? No. He is complaining about the entire list. He most likely thinks is "Racist" due to the fact that most are Muslims. But the problem, the near tragic Bombing attempt, was not a failure of the List, it was a failure of those that are supposed to be checking it. He argues that there are mistakes on it. Well, of course there is. There are mistakes in the DMV, SS, Everyday life. Humans are far from perfect creatures. He points out that these mistakes Prohibit peoples "Right To Fly."

"Right to Fly?" Where did we get that one? NO ONE has a RIGHT to fly. If you have given a reason to suspect that you may attempt to harm or KILL other passengers, I would rather you be kept off the Plane. I'm sure the other passengers feel the same.

This guy is one of the reasons that the little old ladies are being stopped and patted down, while the possible Muslim Terrorists are getting on the plane with a bombs in their underwear. They are the reason that YOU have to show up at the Airport THREE HOURS before a 45 minute flight. Completely asinine.

There is nothing wrong with profiling. NOTHING. If a Samurai robs a bank, the Police better be looking at the Japanese guy walking down the street a mile away. If a Black guy broke into a home, they better not be out stopping little Jenny riding her bike to get ice cream. PC, AKA Political Correctness, HINDERS true Safety and Security. Now the ACLU wants to bring PC to our National Security Front?

This guy might be up for our IWA this week. He actually said this.

“There shouldn’t be somebody sitting on the list who we’re saying is a terrorist – and perhaps denying their right to fly – and nobody’s actually looking for them,” he said.

Just because you are on the list, does not mean that you ARE a Terrorist. It means you MAY BE. That is why it is called a WATCH LIST. If, oh, I don't know, someones FATHER tells authorities that his Son is going to blow up a Plane, we have PROOF he was training with known Terrorists, comes to the Airport, no luggage, buys a one way ticket with cash? Yeah. He hasn't actually done anything yet, which means he is not a Terrorist YET, but he should be on SOMEONES list SOMEWHERE. You think? Right before 9-11, NO ONE broke a law, nor did they commit an act to label them Terrorists, yet 3000 Americans died.

Let's try this. I go around telling people that I hate YOU. I talk about how I am going to break into YOUR home. Rape YOUR Daughter and Wife. Kill your dog. Flush your Goldfish down the Toilet, and torture you to death. I go out a buy duck tape, knives, guns, {All legal} and even start drawing a diagram of YOUR House. I have not broken any laws yet. Therefore, I'm not a criminal yet. So I guess, according to Mike German, I should not be on any lists. I should not be a person of interest, Another Peter may end up being watched because of me, and that would be wrong. So we better leave ALL the Peters alone? After all, I am innocent until proven Guilty. Right? If I do nothing, then I AM innocent. Right? However, if they DO decide to watch me, then, not to offend any Peters, the Police had better start stopping ALL the people buying Duck Tape. All those Jens, Jans, Pauls, Stevens, ETC. We can not possibly signal out a White Male, 231 pounds, Light Brown hair, Brown Eyes, who has a scare on his Left index finger. No. No. You better be stopping and questioning the 411 90 pound Black Chick. While you do that, I'll just walk by and attempt to carry out my plans.

Yeah I know. That is ridiculous. But that IS what we are doing with our National Security right now. People like Mike German, and the All Condescending Losers Union, want to make it even worse. They now do not even want you WATCHED. Got to love PC.

Hey John Byrnes, Welcome to the OPNTalk Blog. Thank you for taking some time out of your schedule to spend a few minutes with us.

I started out disagreeing with you all together when you started off saying this.

We don’t need profiling to identify Individuals like the Christmas-Day Bomber!

However, I will take your 16 years and 2 months {I love that} as President of The Center for Aggression Management, and the rest of your work history as an establishment as an Expert in this field.

Virtually all media outlets are discussing whether we should be profiling all Arab Muslims; I will in the one-page explain why we don’t need profiling. Over 15 years ago, we at the Center for Aggression Management developed an easily-applied, measurable and culturally-neutral body language and behavior indicators exhibited by people who intend to perpetrate a terrorist act. This unique methodology utilizes proven research from the fields of psychology, medicine and law enforcement which, when joined together, identify clear, easily-used physiologically-based characteristics of individuals who are about to engage in terrorist activities in time to prevent their Moment of Commitment.

I would LOVE to learn more about that. I'm serious.

The Problem
Since the foiled terrorist attack by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian national on Northwest Flight 253 to Detroit, the President has repeatedly stated that there has been a systemic failure as he reiterates his commitment to fill this gap in our security. This incident, like the Fort Hood shooting, exemplifies why our government must apply every valid preventative approach to identify a potential terrorist.

Agreed.

1. In practice, ethnic profiling tells us that within a certain group of people there is a higher probability for a terrorist; it does not tell us who the next terrorist is!

EXCELLENT POINT! However, do you feel that The Little Old Lady from Pasadena should be stopped and searched while three "Higher Probable" Men walk by?

2. Ethnic profiling is contrary to the value our society places on diversity and freedom from discrimination based on racial, ethnic, religious, age and/or gender based criteria. If we use profiling it will diminish our position among the majority of affected citizens who support us as a beacon of freedom and liberty.

I understand your point here as well. However, again, Who is attacking us? Who should we be looking at? Not all Muslims are Terrorists, but nearly ALL the Terrorist have been Muslims.

THEY have been at War with us for over 200 plus years, WE have just gotten into the game.

3. By narrowing our field of vision, profiling can lead to the consequence of letting terrorists go undetected, because the terrorist may not be part of any known “profile worthy” group – e.g., the Oklahoma City bomber, Timothy McVeigh

Again, EXCELLENT POINT. It's like the Sensormatic Systems in Stores. A Company, went out and invested a LOT of money to create them. Stores spend a lot of money to install them. They paid their Employees to tag EVERYTHING. Someone found that all this can be overridden by a five cent piece of aluminum foil. Where there is a will, there is a way.

I do see a vast difference in this. We are not talking about recruiting someone to steal, or even to blow SOMETHING up. We are talking about recruiting someone to blow THEMSELVES up. Talk about a hard sell.

These people are just MADE differently. While our kids are watching the Coyote chase the Roadrunner, or Thomas the Train, their kids are watching Nahool the Bee teaching them how to be suicide bombers.

They are born, trained, and raised to be nothing more, nothing less, than killing machines and suicide bombers.

They are not, for the most part, Little old Ladies, White guys from Ohio, or Black guys from the Hood. They are what and who they are. Do we not have a greater possibility of stopping one of them, if we are looking more closely AT them?

The Solution
Our unique methodology for screening passengers can easily discern (independently of race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, age, and gender) the defining characteristics of human beings who are about to engage in terrorist acts.

Again, I REALLY am interested in learning more about that.

The question is when will our government use true “hostile intent” through the “continuum of aggressive behavior” to identify potential terrorists? Only when observers focus specifically on “aggressive behavior” do the objective and culturally neutral signs of “aggression” clearly stand out, providing the opportunity to prevent these violent encounters. This method will not only make all citizens safer, but will also pass the inevitable test of legal defensibility given probable action by the ACLU.

I could not care less what the ACLU has to say about, well, much of anything. PC got us into a lot of the mess we have today. Furthering the stupidity will not keep us safe. But I get your point.

As our Government analyzes what went wrong regarding Abdulmatallab’s entrance into the United States, you can be assured that Al Qaeda is also analyzing how their plans went wrong. Who do you think will figure it out first . . . ?

Sadly, I think THEY will. Especially when our President, and the Mainstream Media BROADCAST what went wrong TO the enemy.

Visit our blog at http://blog.AggressionManagement.com where we discuss the shooting at Fort Hood and the attempted terrorist act on Flight 253.

Will do it. Thank you again for taking some time out to spend with us here. It is much appreciated.
