IWA For Sunday 091607

Hey folks,

It’s Sunday, time for the IWA. This weeks winner, no stranger to being an idiot. None at all. As A matter of fact, He is the first ever IYA {Idiot of the Year} for 2006. I said back then.

"Now here is a guy who killed two people, ran from the Police, and was in the trial that stained Americana. He had money, fame, and race on his side, as well as the best Lawyers money can buy. Then when you add his luck of getting a Prosecutor who really botched the case, you get what we got. He walked.

The whole trial was a shame. The MMD {Mass Media Drones} seemed to be more concerned with Marcia Clark’s hair style and dress, than the evidence in the case. Marcia Clark the former prosecutor. Received $4 million for her book, Without a Doubt, although sales did not meet expectations. No longer practices and is a regular guest host on the Rivera Live show on CNBC. Plans for her own television show fell through.

Yup, one who MANY feel got away with murder walks, and those involved got rich and famous. If you REALLY want to, clink on the link on the bottom, and you can relive the whole mess.

So he get’s away with it. He pledges to Not rest until the real killer is brought to justice. OK. So? Where is the real killer? Oh yeah, he is busy writing a book. It’s called If I Did It. That’s right, OJ was putting out a book in which he describes what he would have done if he had committed the murders. {Sigh} The public outcry was swift. The families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were outraged. Murdoch stepped in and, despite the millions already sunk in the project, nixed the book the day before it shipped. He also cancelled a taped interview Regan did with Simpson that was to air on the Fox network.

But for OJ to actually think that ANYONE would buy this book, makes him stupider than we all thought he was to begin with. But to put it in the terms of an aging Jedi, Which is greater, the fool, or the fool that follows him? Ask Judith Regan. She probably has the answer."

Well, now OJ is in the news again. According to AP -Simpson named suspect in Vegas robbery By KATHLEEN HENNESSEY and LINDA DEUTSCH, Associated Press Writers Sat Sep 15, 7:34 AM ET

O.J. Simpson said he doesn't understand why he is under investigation in an alleged armed robbery at a casino hotel room involving his sports memorabilia. The former football star told The Associated Press on Friday that he went to the room to recover items stolen from him and that, despite reports, no guns were involved.

"There was no armed robbery here," Simpson said in a telephone interview. "It wasn't a robbery. They said `Take your stuff and go.'"

{Laughing} Yeah, it’s amazing what people say when you point a gun at them. I’m sure this is just another innocent misunderstanding that OJ just happened to be involved in. He would never do this. Just like he never ran from the Police, killed two people, or attempted to thumb his nose at everyone with his book.

The incident at the Palace Station casino has once again focused attention on Simpson, who was acquitted of murdering ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman more than a decade ago. He was later found civilly liable for their deaths and ordered to pay a $33.5 million judgment.

On Thursday night, officers responded to a call from the hotel made by Alfred Beardsley, one of the men in the hotel room and a longtime collector of Simpson memorabilia. Police Capt. James Dillon said the caller told police that O.J. Simpson was involved in the robbery.

"We have (reports) from the victim that there were weapons involved," Dillon said, but added that no firearms had been recovered, no charges had been filed and no one was in custody.

Police contacted Simpson, who would not give authorities the names of the "three or four" men who accompanied him into the hotel room until his lawyer was present, Dillon said.

Why not? If nothing happened?

Authorities were trying to sort out who owned the items in dispute and had some "legitimate information that part or all of the items belong to Simpson," Dillon said.

Simpson said he and Beardsley had a friendly phone conversation later Friday and they wanted to resolve the matter. Both indicated the underlying issue was recovery of photos from Simpson's childhood.

"Nobody was roughed up," Simpson said in the interview. "What I can't understand is these guys are in a room trying to fence stolen goods and I'm the story."

You are the story because NO ONE believes you. You truly seem to think you can get away with anything. You have. So? Now this? Get this.

Simpson said he was conducting a sting operation on Thursday to collect his belongings when he was led to the room.

"We walked into the room," Simpson said. "I'm the last one to go in and when they see me, it's all 'Oh God.'"

Simpson said it was auction house owner Tom Riccio who tipped him off and arranged for him to meet with collectors trying to peddle his belongings. Beardsley, however, said Riccio found out that he was going to be involved in a private sale of the childhood photos and "got Simpson all worked up."

WE DON'T WANT THAT! Remember the last time?

"I will give him those pictures back, I feel bad about it," said Beardsley, adding that he and Simpson "feel this has gotten way out of control."

Riccio, meanwhile, told the Los Angeles Times that Simpson was supposed to show up and tell the men to give the belongings back or he would call the police. Instead, Simpson showed up with about seven "intimidating looking guys," at least one of whom had a gun, he said.

"We tried to peacefully reacquire these personal items, not for their monetary value, but for their family value. O.J. wanted to be able to pass these things down to his kids," Riccio told the newspaper.

"They (Simpson and his companions) took the stuff, and they left. What can I say? Things went haywire," he said.

{Sigh} You know, you get away with murder, running from the Police, and covering up the Murder, you get paid a lot of money for a book about how you did it, sorry, how you would have done it, and you get to keep that money, you would think you want to stay out of trouble. Right?

Not OJ. I truly believe he thinks he can do anything. Maybe because he is black? Maybe because he is famous? Was rich? Who knows.

But congratulations OJ, not only have you been the first IYW, you now have the dubious honor of being the Idiot of the Week again. No one has won two times. But you have earned it.
