Yesterday was one of those new days that begged for an End of Day Round Up. It was frustrating that I could not get in here to do it. We had Jessie Jackson saying Obama acting White, Murtha called out by a Student, Reid in NY with LWL on Monday, then comes out with new plan on Tuesday. DREAM. {Amnesty}
I did post "stop DREAM" from Roy Beck, President, NumbersUSA. Then I saw this, this morning. From The Heritage Foundation.
After failing to secure amnesty for the over 12 million individuals unlawfully in the United States with a deeply flawed approach to comprehensive immigration reform, some Members of the Senate are now reintroducing amnesty piecemeal, spread across several bills. One is the "Ag JOBS Act of 2007" (S. 340), which could be attached to the upcoming farm bill. The bill contains the same language as this summer's failed immigration legislation, including provisions granting amnesty to undocumented workers. Instead of reviving amnesty, Congress should focus on reforming the existing H2-A agricultural worker visa program to allow legal flows of workers that meet the needs of employers and employees.Ag JOBS Atrocity
The Ag JOBS Act would create a pilot program that provides work visas, called "blue cards," to guest workers who wish to work in the agricultural sector, regardless of whether they are currently illegally present. In sum, the Ag JOBS Act would grant amnesty to 1.5 million illegal agricultural workers and 1.8 million of their family members. Because it adopts a looser approach to the basic requirements that applicants must meet to be granted blue card status, this legislation would make it even easier for illegal immigrants to obtain legal status than under the Senate's comprehensive immigration bill. Three changes are especially significant:
In order to be considered for blue card status, applicants would only have to prove that they worked in agriculture for "863 hours or 150 work days," in 2005 and 2006, using government employment records or "other reliable documentation as the alien may provide." The wide variety of valid documentation will only make it easier to fabricate documents.
Applicants for blue card status would not need to return to their home countries before applying, as was required by a provision in the original immigration bill.
Applicants with pending criminal charges and those who have been convicted of some misdemeanors can still receive amnesty.
In addition to this amnesty, several provisions in the act would compound the illegal immigration problem:
A confidentiality clause would bar the Department of Homeland Security from using an applicant's information for alternative purposes, such as enforcing federal immigration laws.
Program participants are obligated to become citizens after 3 to 5 years of work in the agricultural sector. If a worker fails to do so, he will lose his visa and could be deported. Many migrant workers do not aspire to become citizens, and this provision would only discourage workers from joining the program.
The amendment also protects workers of blue card status from being fired unless the employer has "just cause." This protection is not even afforded to those American workers who work on an "at will" basis in many states, where they can be fired for any reason or no reason. This clause could mire employers in legal proceedings if a worker feels that he has been unjustly fired and would be a large disincentive for employers to hire workers with a blue card.
A Real Solution
Rather than try to pass another amnesty bill, Congress should:
Reject any new guest worker program that would grant amnesty to illegal immigrants already in the country. Creating such a program would only exacerbate the illegal immigration problem.
Reform the H2-A program to allow a realistic flow of legal workers that meets the needs of employers and employees.
Amnesty, however it is clothed, is the wrong answer. The right solution is to enact fair, compassionate, and practical reforms to current visa programs that get employers the employees they need.

Ahmadinejad was not just coming here, but he was to tour GROUND ZERO!Needless to say, reaction was SWIFT! I and many others were absolutely furious. Romney went on Sean Hannity, Lieberman called it out, many others stood up and said “What the hell is wrong with you?”

NEW YORK -- Officials on Wednesday decided to reject the Iranian president's request to visit ground zero just weeks after the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The decision came in a meeting that included representatives of the NYPD, the Secret Service and the Port Authority, according to police.
NYPD officials confirmed in a statement that earlier this month the department received a request from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to visit the World Trade Center site during the United Nations General Assembly. Ahmadinejad asked permission to lay a wreath at the site.
Unbelievable. He doesn’t want to lay the wreath because he cares. He wanted a photo op. He wants all of America to be Ground Zero.
The request to enter the fenced-in site was rejected because of ongoing construction there, police spokesman Paul Browne said. "Requests for the Iranian president to visit the immediate area would also be opposed by the NYPD on security grounds," Browne said.
No, that’s not it. You know as well as I do WHY they changed their minds on this. Besides, they are worried about HIS safety? A guy that has and continues to say he wants Israel wiped of the map. Is rumored to have missiles pointed at them as we speak. Seems to be working with Syria in creating weapons of mass destruction. Has Russia helping build their Nuclear capabilities. This guy? It would be nice if the LWL started to actually care about AMERICA’s safety.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said earlier Wednesday that the city was considering Ahmadinejad's request, but Browne said about two hours later that Kelly had misspoke.He didn’t “Mis-speak” He said it, it was true at the time, but someone got to him. This was a completely idiotic move, and a complete slap in the face of all the victims and families of 9-11. As soon as Drudge put it up there, and people like Sean started putting it out there, Response was quick and relentless. Once again, like Amnesty, the things the Democrats and the LWL are attempting to do in secret, came to light, and YOU stopped them.
The Port Authority, which owns the trade center site and is the only agency that could grant Ahmadinejad permission to go inside, said it never received such a request, contradicting the police statement.
"We have not been asked to accommodate the president of Iran," Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman said Wednesday.They probably were never asked. The Libs need ask no one. They do not recognize anyone’s authority other than their's. Including the President.
It wasn't clear whether Ahmadinejad wanted to descend to the base of the trade center site, where the fallen twin towers stood, or lay a wreath on a public sidewalk outside the site. Telephone calls to the Iranian Mission to the United Nations were not immediately returned.
This whole situation was insane. He is coming here to visit the UN. To talk about tougher Sanctions on his country. It’s not suppose to be a vacation for him. Shows how serious he is about the Sanctions doesn’t it. Maybe he'll want to see the biggest ball of twine next trip?
I keep saying it. I WILL keep saying it. If the LWL take over in 08, nothing will stop their insanity. They WILL have absolute power to destroy this country and take your freedom away. IT IS just that simple.

I have said for years that legislators should not be allowed to attach unrelated things to a bill and sneak it pass others.
It matters not which party I believe that it is wrong.
And yet I heard someone the other day blast President Bush for supporting amnesty while ignoring that many democrats want open borders.
This leads me to the question if Hillary gets her health care does that mean illegals must have health care as well or are the rest of us supposed to pay for them?
That Stealth Amnesty in the Senate would not only deliver gift-wrapped tuition to illegals-- it would also increase the corrupt H1-B visa program *even more*, this at a time when US tech workers are already fighting to survive.
The H1-B basically allows corporations to bypass US-trained tech workers and anything resembling fair wages, to bring in dirt-cheap tech workers from India and Pakistan to replace the American workforce wholesale. It's nothing more than treason against American workers, who are beset with university debts that Indian and Pakistani workers don't have-- we can never accept those pathetic wages without going bankrupt ourselves.
I'm not at all astonished that documented enemies of the United States like Hillary Clinton are supporting this. What does surprise me, is how many others are also sponsoring this-- Durbin and Chris Dodd in particular, I had thought to be more reasonable, yet they're joining with other Democratic traitors to support this. Shameful. (Dems, please do yourself a favor and don't nominate Hillary in 2008. Independents like myself who don't normally have a dog in this fight, will declare war against Hillary to stop her.)
Everyone on my block is calling and FAXing our Senators and members of the House of Representatives to thwart this bill and stop the H1B hemorrhaging-- that program should be sharply knocked down or gotten rid of altogether, not given another helping hand at the expense of American workers. I agree on this one hundred percent. If you want to pass a bill, one that feel strongly about, put it out there. If it can stand on it’s own, great. If it fails, perhaps you should look at why it failed and see if you can correct what is needed.
They do this for two reasons. They know that the other side of the isle will NEVER pass it, because it is completely opposite of what they believe, or, they know that the American people will NEVER go for it.

There will be no illegals. We will have open boarders and YES, they will be covered as well. But hey, according to Supreme Leader Wannabe Hillary, it’ll only cost 110 Billion a year. {Sigh} Right.

Absolutely correct. But they do not care about the American people. All they care about is being in and keeping power. I do not know if you’ve checked out the archives here, but I have talked about how this new Liberalism is nothing more than a question for tyranny.
If you use their own words, and actions, you see why I have been calling them the LWL and Traitors for quite a while now.

GREAT!! It really works. We saw this in the last immigration “Reform” Bill. We just have to keep it up. Going back to what I said before, all they care about is getting and keeping power. They talk a good talk, to support the Left Wing Looney base, but when it counts? They know that more than just this little LOUD group of lunatics is needed for them to get re-elected, so they usually cave last minute.
