Dream Dies, Gays Can Serve In Military

Good day for Gays. Are you ready for a Gay President?

Hey folks

Well, Former President Carter, yeah I know the guy is a Loon, but he thinks you are ready. No. I'm not kidding. According to Newsmax.com - Jimmy Carter: US Ready to Elect Gay President By David A. Patten

Former President Jimmy Carter says U.S. voters have reached the point where they would be willing to elect a gay president “in the near future.”

He said this.

“I think the entire population of America has come tremendous strides forward in dealing with the issue of gays. Step by step we have realized that this issue of homosexuality has the same adverse and progressive elements as when we dealt with the race issue 50 years ago.”

No it really isn't. But he went on to say this in response to the question if he thought that the Voters in this country were ready to Elect a Gay President.

“I would say the answer is yes. I don’t know about next election, but I think in the near future.”

I know some of you are out there saying, "Hell, I would Vote for Micky Mouse, as long as we get Obama outta here." I'm with ya. But it was a Good day for Gays. I know, I know. You know who this is and you know WHAT this is. Glad you could make it. I'm fine, how are you? Back to what I was saying. It was a good day for Gays. According to the AP - Senate votes to end ban on openly gay troops By ANNE FLAHERTY,

WASHINGTON – In a historic vote for gay rights, the Senate agreed on Saturday to do away with the military's 17-year ban on openly gay troops and sent President Barack Obama legislation to overturn the Clinton-era policy known as "don't ask, don't tell."

Obama was expected to sign the bill into law next week, although changes to military policy probably wouldn't take effect for at least several months. Under the bill, the president and his top military advisers must first certify that lifting the ban won't hurt troops' ability to fight. After that, the military would undergo a 60-day wait period.

Repeal would mean that, for the first time in American history, gays would be openly accepted by the armed forces and could acknowledge their sexual orientation without fear of being kicked out.

More than 13,500 service members have been dismissed under the 1993 law.

"It is time to close this chapter in our history," Obama said in a statement. "It is time to recognize that sacrifice, valor and integrity are no more defined by sexual orientation than they are by race or gender, religion or creed."

The Senate voted 65-31 to pass the bill, with eight Republicans siding with 55 Democrats and two independents in favor of repeal. The House had passed an identical version of the bill, 250-175, earlier this week.

I guess we will have to wait and see how many Gays will line up to join, how many Straights will refuse to serve with, and if there is ANY effect on anything. There are already Rules and Reg.s for Fraternization and Sexual Relations of ANY kind. So I'm not really sure what the whole point is. However, will the Government now be forced to have THREE Bathrooms, Showers, and Quarters? Do they allow Women to shower with the Men. Are Men confortible with showering with Women? If you have a Gay man, which means that he sees other Men the same as a Women would, would this not fall into the same catagory? Likewise a Lesbian with Women?

Now do not get me wrong here. I do not feel anyone should be discriminated against for ANY Reason, but if I was told I must share living Quarters with, Shower with, go to the bathroom with a Women, I would feel unconfortable. I would feel the same way if I knew the guy standing there looking at me was Gay. Sorry. I would. So what will the Armed Serives have to do to accomidate this? Something to think about.

Comming right up today?

So not only was it a good day for Gays. It was a good day for ALL of us. YOU did it again folks. YOU let your Voices be heard, and the DREAM died. According to Newsmax.com - Republicans Block Youth Immigration Bill Saturday, 18 Dec 2010 11:46 AM

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republicans have blocked a bill to grant hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children a chance to gain legal status if they enroll in college or join the military.

Sponsors of what they call the Dream Act needed 60 Senate votes for it, but fell five short. The House passed the bill last week. It was a last-ditch effort to enact it before it Republicans take control of the House from Democrats in January.

That's right, YOU killed the DREAM Act, AKA another attempt at AMNESTY. Another Hail Mary that flopped. Just like that $1.2 Trillion Omnibus Spending Bill, which we learned was written in FEBUARY, the DREAM act was another one of those last ditch efforts to enact more Liberal Loon Dreams. But it's because of YOU, after hearing the TRUTH from the New Media, Radio, Cable, and the Internet, YOU killed both. The EDUCATED electorate. What Jefferson called THE "Cornerstone of Democracy." GOOD Job!

Once again, welcome to the Big Sunday Edition of the OPNTalk Blog. Glad you stopped by today. Going to fill my cup. Be right back.
