Hate 08

May The Least Hated Take All

Hey folks,

Here is how it is suppose to work. You have candidates running for office. You listen to what they say. You watch what they do. You take the time to educate yourself on their past voting history, and the things they have done in public life. You pick the candidate that you feel is the best one for you. The one that best seems to represent your beliefs and the one you TRULY feel will be the best one for the job. You then get behind that candidate with all your heart and soul and some, even with your money. When the time comes, you vote that person into office.

This year? It’s not even close to being like this. This year is a truly historic election. This year, the next President of the United States of American will NOT be the one that most are standing behind, believing in, and have hope to be the best person for the job. No my friends, this year will be the one who is hated the least.

First we have Obama. Obama is just flat out hated by many people. He is not seen as some one with a clear vision, history, and he is easily shaken. When he gives scripted speeches, he is GREAT. Take away the teleprompters, and he comes across as if he can not think and talk at the same time. If the superdelegates AWARD him the nomination, the Clinton supporters will either sit home, or vote for McCain.

Hillary? Well, she is pretty hated in general. People remember the last time the Clintons were in office. People remember her first attempt at Health Care. People do not want a repeat of the Hill and Bill show. Then there are some that ARE actually listening to what she says, and they do not like it. If the superdelegates AWARD her the nomination, some would say STEAL it from Obama, not to mention being called racists and the possibility of “Re-create 68 , but the Obama supporters will either stay home or vote for McCain.

But then you have McCain. McCain is hated by EVERYONE. The Conservatives hate him because they just see him as pandering to them. They see him as trying to hide what he TRULY is, which is a Liberal. The Republicans hate him because he LOVES crossing the isle and working with the Democrats. The Democrats hate him because he calls himself a Republican. Then you have the ONE issue that is inexcusable to the Liberals. The same one issue that forced Senator Joe Lieberman to change his Party status to Independent. His position on the War.

So the question this time around, is NOT who is it that people like the most, but rather, who is it that people can STOMACH the most to vote for. Not to many people like the choices. ANY of the choices. However, the election IS coming. On this date, 177 days to go. It is what it is, our choices are what they are. Yes, it will truly be, the least hated takes all. Instead of Election 08, perhaps it should be Hate 08. One has to ask. What does this say about us as a people? AS a country. How are others seeing this whole circus of a Primary Season? It can be fun to watch, but it is also pretty sad at the same time.
