Offshore Drilling On Florida's Agenda

From the Energy Front 030210

Hey folks,

Today, as we speak, the coffee is brewing. People are traveling, or waking up in their Hotel Rooms, heading to Tallahassee. The Florida Legislative Session begins anew.

There will be many things on the agenda for sure, and one of them is something that they should tackle first. Offshore Drilling. Why? Simple.

Jobs.
Lower Energy Rates.
Increase Revenue to the State Government.

Back in 2007, there was a study done that showed the benefit by state that further drilling of domestic Oil and Natural Gas would produce. New Jobs for Florida? 267,277 Employment income? $11,441 Million. Value added to the State? $19,946 Billion.

Couple that with the reality, that more product equals less demand, equals lower prices.

Folks, this is not some fly by night, paint a building and go home job. These are REAL jobs, for REAL people, making REAL money. These are jobs with retirements, healthcare, and a future.

This is not a pipe dream. This is not a concept or ideal. This is not a possibility in the far future. This is REAL. This is NOW. This could happen tomorrow. When looking at these numbers, I want you to think about this also. Picture that NATION Wide. Look where we are now. Look where we could be. It's really not that difficult to understand.

Of course there are those out there that will fight this every step of the way. They would rather you be out of work, Gas at $4.00 a gallon, and remain dependant on foreign Governments. Why? Well, that is an incentive for people to figure out Alternatives. That will force people to live "greener." Blah, blah, blah.

Truth is, by NOT doing it, we are fighting AGAINST what drives the WORLD Economy. We continue to DRIVE Higher Unemployment, Higher Energy Costs, and decrease security. The Florida House said Dill Here. Now let's hope that the Florida Senate will be as wise.
