Offensive To Ask For Truth?

Why not answer the question?

Did you catch this? A new Ad by Keep America Safe has raised the ire of the Lib Left. Why? Well, most likely, and the easy answer is this. One, it is a Conservative group. Two. It is a Conservative group questioning Obama and Crew for their choices. Three. It is a Conservative group co-founded by Liz Cheney. You know, the daughter of the former Vice President, whom the Left have nicknamed Darth Vader.

Now, normally, that would be good enough to explain away. However, this time, there are some self proclaimed Conservatives, are also questioning the Ad. John Bellinger III, who served as a legal adviser to former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice,said this.

"I think it's unfortunate that these individuals are being criticized for their past representation. It reflects the politicization and the polarization of terrorism issues. Neither Republicans nor Democrats should be attacking officials in each other's administrations based solely on the clients they have represented in the past. We've had a long-standing tradition in our country for lawyers to represent unpopular causes, and they shouldn't be attacked for doing so."

OK. So I'm sure that the issue is the last statement.

"Tell Eric Holder: The American people have a right to know the identity of 'the Al-Qaeda 7.'"

A little extreme? Perhaps. Implying something? Seems like it. So? Now I understand that we really should not judge Lawyers by their past representations. If they are Defense Lawyers, they DEFEND those, who are most likely not, model citizens.

So I understand that if you are a Lawyer, and you defend a Rapist, a Rapist it does not make YOU. You defend a Murder, you are not a Murder yourself. ETC. I get that. But do you know how many Lawyers there are in this Country? Do you know how many GREAT Lawyers there are? Much more qualified than these I'm willing to bet. So why, out of all the MILLIONS of Lawyers out there, did the Obama Administration pick 9 who defended Terrorists? Seriously. It seems to be an honest question. Why would U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder NOT release the names?

Thanks to Fox News, they HAVE been Identified. They are Jonathan Cedarbaum, Eric Columbus, Karl Thompson, Joseph Guerra, Tali Farhadian, Beth Brinkmann, and Tony West.

Now according to this report, they all played pretty much MINOR Roles in Defending Terrorists, and filing court papers against the Bush Administration. Yet, now that they are in charge of keeping America safe, AND due to the fact that when asked whether any of the seven previously unidentified Lawyers now work on detainee related issues, Miller declined to comment, the questions are still valid and unanswered. WHY? Why these 9? What role will they play?

Is the Ad Offensive? I do not think so. I think the fact that these Lawyers were hired for the positions they now hold, and the refusal to answer simple questions by this Administration, is offensive. Just another example that this Administration are either completely incompetent, or simply think you are to stupid to stop them from what they are trying to do. Which is worse? I'm not sure.
