Geert Wilders Said What Obama SHOULD Have Said

If he even bothered to show up on 9-11

Hey folks,

Happy Monday to you. It really is a shame that our President, absent from Ground Zero on 9-11, would NEVER have the testicular fortitude, or even the desire to make such a speech. Here is what Obama SHOULD have said on 9-11.

Geert Wilders 9/11 Ground Zero Speech

Andrew G. Bostom

Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician under threat of death from radical Islamists, gave a speech yesterday at Ground Zero that all Americans should pay attention to. The text is as follows:

Dear friends,

May I ask you to be silent for ten seconds? Just be silent and listen. Ten seconds. And listen... What we hear are the sounds of life in the greatest city on earth. No place in the world, no place in human history, is as richly varied and vibrant and dynamic as New York City. You hear the cars, you hear the people, you hear them rushing to their various destinations, you hear the sounds of business and of pleasure, you hear the cheers, you hear the cries, the buzzing sounds of human activity. And that is how it should be. Always.

Now close your eyes - I know it's a beautiful day, but close your eyes. I have been told that this day nine years ago was just such a beautiful day -- and remember, or try to remember, or try to imagine the sounds which were heard here on this spot under this same blue sky exactly nine years ago. The sound of shock, the sound of destruction, the sound of panic, the sound of pain, the sound of terror.

Did New York deserve this? Did America deserve this? Did the West deserve this? What, my friends, would you say to people who argue that New York, that America, that the West had itself to blame for those horrible sounds? There are people in this city who argue this. And they are angry because we are gathered here today to commemorate, to make a stand, to draw the line.

My friends, I have come from the other side of the Atlantic to share your grief for those who died here nine years ago.I have not forgotten how I felt that day. The scenes are imprinted on my soul, as they are on yours. But our hearts were not broken in the same way as the hearts of the relatives and friends of those who lost their lives here. Many relatives of the victims are here in our midst today. I wish to take this opportunity to express my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to them and to all of the people of New York and America.

Darryl Worley - Have You Forgotten?

Humbly, I stand here before you as a Dutchman and a European. I, too, however, cannot forget. How can anyone forget? Let me remind you of the words from Darryl Worley's 9/11 song.

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell

Worley's response is our response: No, we will NEVER forget. We are here today because we have not forgotten all the loved ones that were lost and those left to carry on. And neither has the world. When the forces of Jihad attacked New York, they attacked the world.

Among those lost were people from 55 nations, people of every religion and every persuasion. No place on earth had a more multi-ethnic, multi-racial, and multi-lingual workforce than New York's proud towers. That is exactly why they were targeted. They constituted an insult to those who hold that there can be no peaceful cooperation among people and nations without submission to Sharia; to those who wish to impose the legal system of Islam on the rest of us. But New York and Sharia are incompatible.

New York stands for freedom, openness and tolerance. New York's Mayor recently said that New York is "rooted in Dutch tolerance". Those are true words. New York is not intolerant. How can it be? New York is open to the world. Suppose New York were intolerant. Suppose it only allowed people of one persuasion within its walls. Then it would be like Mecca, a city without freedom. Whatever your religion, persuasion or gender is, in New York you will find a home. In Mecca, if your religion isn't Islam, you are not welcome.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf claims the right to build a mosque, a house of Sharia here - on this hallowed ground. But, friends, I have not forgotten and neither have you. That is why we are here today. To draw the line. Here, on this sacred spot. We are here in the spirit of America's founding fathers. We are here in the spirit of freedom. We are here in the spirit of Abraham Lincoln, the President who freed the slaves. President Lincoln said: "Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves." These words are the key to our survival. The tolerance that is crucial to our freedom requires a line of defense.

Mayor Bloomberg uses tolerance as an argument to allow Imam Rauf and his sponsors to build their so-called Cordoba Mosque. Mayor Bloomberg forgets, however, that openness cannot be open-ended. A tolerant society is not a suicidal society. It must defend itself against the powers of darkness, the force of hatred and the blight of ignorance. It cannot tolerate the intolerant - and survive. This means that we must not give a free hand to those who want to subjugate us. An overwhelming majority of Americans is opposed to building this mosque. So is an overwhelming majority everywhere in the non-Islamic world. Because we all realize what is at stake here. We know what this so-called Cordoba mosque really means.

Imam Rauf maintains that American secular law and Sharia law are based on the same principles. He refuses to condemn terrorists because he says terrorism is "a very complex question". He says America is "an accessory to the crime that happened on 9/11." "In fact," he literally said, "in the most direct sense, Osama bin Laden is made in the USA."He also says that "terrorism will only end when the West acknowledges the harm it has done to Muslims."

That is why this man should not play the game he has in mind here in Manhattan. His "Blame the West, Blame America"-message is an insult. Americans - and by extension, all of us whose civilization was also attacked on 9/11/2001 - are not to blame for what happened here nine years ago today.

Osama bin Laden is not made in the USA. The West never "harmed" Islam before it harmed us. Most Americans do not want this so-called Cordoba Mosque to be built here. They understand that it is both a provocation and a humiliation. They understand the triumphant narrative of a mosque named after the Great Mosque of Cordoba which was constructed where a Christian cathedral stood before the land was conquered by Islam.

An overwhelming majority of Americans is opposed to building an Islamic cultural center close to Ground Zero. There is no lack of mosques in New York. There are dozens of buildings in which Muslims can pray. It isn't about a lack of space for prayers. It's about the symbolic meaning.

We who have come to speak today, object to this mosque project because its promoter and his wealthy sponsors have never suggested building a center to promote tolerance and interfaith understanding where it is really needed: In Mecca - a town where non-Muslims are not even allowed to enter, let alone build churches, synagogues, temples or community centers. So why should we do that?

Ordinary Americans object to the mosque project because currently no fewer than ten major multi-million dollar mosque projects are being planned in the United States as well as dozens in Europe, while not a single church is allowed in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while Jews are not even allowed to move their lips in prayer on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, while the oldest Christians in the world, the Copts, are not free to renovate their churches, let alone to build one in Egypt.

My friends, that is why we are here today. What happens in New York must be seen in the perspective of the world. The events nine years ago made an enormous impact everywhere. Most people shared your pain, but, unfortunately, some did not. Nine years ago, when the news of the terrible atrocity in New York reached Europe, Muslim youths danced in the streets.

In a poll, two thirds of the Muslim immigrants in the Netherlands expressed partial or full understanding for the 9/11 terrorists. If a mosque were built here on Ground Zero such people would feel triumphant. But we, we will not betray those who died on 9/11. For their sakes we cannot tolerate a mosque on or near Ground Zero. For their sakes loud and clear we say: No mosque here! For their sakes, we must draw the line. So that New York, rooted in Dutch tolerance, will never become New Mecca.

But, let us also express our gratitude for the heroes of 9/11, those who went down in that Pennsylvania field, those who were standing freedom's watch at the Pentagon, and those who were here in New York nine years ago to risk and lose their lives for the victims. Friends, in honor of these victims, these heroes and their families, I believe that the words of Ronald Reagan, spoken in Normandy on the 40th anniversary of D-Day, resonate with new purpose on this hallowed spot.

President Reagan said: "We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we may always be free." And, we, too, will always remember the victims of 9/11 and their loved ones who were left behind; We, too, will always be proud of the heroes; We will always defend liberty, democracy and human dignity; In the name of freedom: No mosque here!
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Too bad it is a foreigner saying it. Too bad our President is not as eloquent or as passionate about New York, 9-11, or even America itself. It truly is sad.

Thank you so much for this reminder Mr. Geert Wilders, for that brilliant speech, and reminder of how true Americans feel.

Did you catch this? This is just disturbing to me. Just read. Here it is. Parent Dish - Self-Injurying Teens Find a Bizarre New Extreme by Tom Henderson (Subscribe to Tom Henderson's posts) Sep 10th 2010 12:20PM
They cut themselves, burn themselves, starve themselves, gorge themselves, choke themselves and get high off everything from alcohol to aerosols.

Sooner or later, you would think, teenagers would run out of ways to destroy themselves.

Nope.

Business Week reports kids are now using themselves as human junkyards, embedding foreign objects under their skin.

According to Business Week, a 16-year-old girl recently showed up in an emergency room with 20 odds and ends -- including paper clips, pencil lead and even a pair of eyeglasses -- inside her body.

She reportedly put them there here in an excruciatingly painful process call "self-embedding."

William Shiels, a pediatric interventional radiologist at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, tells Business Week kids don't want to kill themselves. They just want to hurt themselves. Horribly.

The act is similar to cutting, burning and other forms of self-mutilation, and many teens, he says, are ashamed of what they're doing and try to conceal their behavior.

In the upcoming October issue of the journal Radiology, Shiels and other researchers report that between 13 and 23 percent of American teenagers hurt themselves on purpose.

Researchers looked at 600 people of all ages who went to the hospital to have foreign objects removed from their bodies. They found 11 patients -- or 1.8 percent -- had put the objects there deliberately. They were all teenagers ages 14 to 18, and nine of them were girls.

All 11 teens suffered from some kind of psychological disorder, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, borderline personality disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder.

"One girl told us it's easier to deal with physical pain than the emotional pain in her life," Shiels tells Business Week. "The reason they cut and embed is an effort to relieve their internal pain, the pain that's inside."

Removing embedded objects can be difficult, Shiels adds. Surgeons often try to pinpoint the objects with ultrasound and remove them with tiny forceps, rather than resorting to more cutting.

"They have emotional pain already," Shiels tells Business Week of the kids. "They are already embarrassed and ashamed that they are hurting themselves. Leaving a large scar can degrade their self-image and complicate things worse. The beauty of doing this minimally invasive procedure, with a scar that is the size of a freckle, is that we don't add more emotional scars to these children."

Dr. Niranjan Karnik, an assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral neuroscience at the University of Chicago Medical Center, concurs with Shiels, also telling Business Week kids who self-inflict wounds are not trying to kill themselves.

Indeed, he says, they engage in self-destructive behavior to avoid suicide.

"Self-injury is almost like a pressure valve for them," Karnik tells Business Week. "Without it, you have to ask, 'What is that kid going to do now?' We have to work with them to give them better strategies to relieve their stress and anxiety."

If your kids are showing ANY signs that there may be something wrong. TRY to do your best to get involved. Be right back.

The Cost Of Eating Healthy

Cost of Junk Food Vs Healthy Eating.

Hey folks,

I have gotten MANY articles sent in by you, talking about everything from the Egg scare, to Caged vs Free Range Chickens, ETC. I have posted several articles about Healthy Eating, Franking Fish, and High Fructose Corn Syrup. So the question is, why do we NOT head in the direction of healthier eating?

The answer is sadly simplistic. COST. Here is what I mean. Go to the Grocery Store, look at the Food Prices. If you get mass produced Chicken, usually frozen, what is the cost. About ten bucks for a bag of Chicken. Look at the Fresh? You get maybe two good sized breasts. Look at the price for "Free Ranged Chickens" You will get even less.

Look at the mass produced products. You know, those high in preservatives and of course HFCS. Then look at the prices of "Organic." Go to the snack isle. How much for a big bag of chips? Some run specials like $1.99 a bag. Now go to the Produce isle. How much is a head of Lettuce? Getting the point?

When we can go to a fast food place, and buy a DOUBLE Burger and Small Fries for $2.11, or go to the store and buy? What? That's a whole meal, add a buck for the drink. So $3.20 you get a whole meal. No cooking. No real clean up. A whole meal. Go to the Store, you can not even get a ready made meal for $3.00. You have to buy all the ingredients, prep, and cook it. Then, add A LOT on if you try to be healthy. For a meal, you are most likely talking $10.00 to $20.00, plus the time to prepare it. If you are even able to prepare it. No one is teaching you how to cook anymore.

People would LOVE to eat healthier. The companies that produce "Organic," "Free Range," and more natural Foods would love to make more money. But the sad fact is, people go the cheaper route.

Then you have the stereotype that healthier food taste, well, bland, or bad. This is not always the case either. As many of you know, my Wife Laura is a Vegan. That means no meat, no dairy. I eat Vegan meals about two to three times a week. There has only been one or two that I really didn't like. You can keep the Tofu. ANY Tofu. But the "Beef crumbles" and the Bacon, oh the Bacon, actually tastes BETTER to me than the real deal. I'm not kidding. "Morning Star Bacon Strips?" Give them to me EVERY DAY! I can't get enough.

So why are the alternatives more expensive than the junk? Supply and demand play a part. Less people are buying them, therefore, they cost more. But at the same time, less people are buying them BECAUSE they cost more.

So what's the answer? Truthfully? I'm not really sure. You could start by watching a movie I just saw recently called "Food inc." It will change your perspective on the food industry. The facts are out there. Commonsense and logic are out there. But there is still the cost factor.

My recommendation to you, try it. Try it a little at a time. One meal a week, try to skip the meat. Try to buy from humane companies. Try to give up some of the Junk. You may find that you like it better.

Yes, it does cost a bit more to eat healthier, but the savings in long term medical bills will even that out. Now do not get me wrong folks, again, I like my meat. I like my occasional fast food. But I do not live for it, or on it. I try to eat healthy as much as possible. I try not to buy items from companies I know do not treat their animals humanely. I try to do the right thing.

I will tell you this. In the long run, not only you sill start feeling better, you may even start seeing a difference in your physical appearance. Worked for me.

DLA for Sunday 091210

I just love this guy.

Hey folks,

Seriously. I really do love this guy.

What we need is more Chris Christies. Politicians NOT afraid to talk straight and to the point. Someone that has intelligences and the nerve to make tough choices.

You know, seriously, we should use Christie as a model. He is doing the right thing for those that live in NJ. He is EXTREMELY Popular. Some in Washington, on BOTH sides of the Isle, live and die by Polls. Hell, Clinton even polled where to go on vacation. Look at the approval rating for Congress and Obama now? Why? They are governing AGAINST the Will of the People. Congress has SINGLE Digit numbers. Obama is crashing. So why is Christie so popular? He is doing the RIGHT thing.

The American people WILL stand up behind you, if YOU do the RIGHT thing. Christie feels that he was hired BY THE PEOPLE, and is working FOR THE PEOPLE. Politicians, the Media, and even some on the Right, have some issues with him. Does this effect him? Nope. This is what we need in Washington.

Congratulations Gov. Chris Christie. You are the Winner of the Display of Logic Award. Keep up the good work.

They TRULY believe we care.

Hey folks,

I remember talking about this before, however, can't find it. It may have been over at ETP. But I talked about how Stars live in a world where they're surrounded by "Yes People" 24 - 7. This environment has an effect on them. Eventually, some of them actually start believing that they matter. That they are important and the World hangs on their every word.

This is why people like Barbra Streisand comes out and writes letters to President Bush, all those misspellings and all, and thinks that he should listen to her. Or why Singer Sheryl Crow thinks we care what she thinks about the amount of Toilet Paper we should use. ETC.

After a while, after all those "Yes People" tell them how great they are, even when they tie their shoe, and after all the hype, some actually BELIEVE it. So this comes as no real surprise. But I do find this hilarious.

Here is our winner this week. When giving an interview to New York Magazine, our Idiot of the week actually said this.

"The nation mourned. I had a lot of people who came up to me and were not as upset as I was – but were definitely upset. I did feel a sense of responsibility, because I knew that people had a certain idea of how I was and who we were … But on your deathbed, it's not really going to matter how those people felt."
The Nation Mourned? Was she talking about 9-11? Could it be a natural disaster? Why does she think the Nation mourned? Uh, because she and Tim Robbins broke up. I'm not kidding.

According to People - Susan Sarandon: The Nation Mourned My Split from Tim Robbins

Susan Sarandon wasn't the only one upset by her split from longtime love Tim Robbins last year – legions of fans were also thrown by the announcement.

"The nation mourned," Sarandon tells New York magazine. "I had a lot of people who came up to me and were not as upset as I was – but were definitely upset. I did feel a sense of responsibility, because I knew that people had a certain idea of how I was and who we were … But on your deathbed, it's not really going to matter how those people felt."
The Nation Mourned when JFK was assassinated. MLK Jr. When Elvis died. 9-11. But Sarandon and Robins breaking up? Talk about arrogance and ignorance.

Congratulations Susan. You ARE the Idiot of the Week. Now go make another movie and entertain us. THAT is what we want from you. Your personal life really has no effect on anyone else. Sorry.

Minister Got Suckered

"Hey Pete, simply put, what do you think?"

Hey folks,

Happy Friday to you. Since it IS Friday, time to go to the Emails. This is also the day I HOPEFULLY get the news on what kind of Baby stuff to buy. That's right, today we are supposed to find out if Josh is going to have a Brother or a Sister. Can't wait.

So lets go to the Emails. Simple question. Simple answer. Here is the Link.

AP - Pastor nixes Quran-burning, claims NYC mosque deal By ANTONIO GONZALEZ, Associated Press Writer Antonio Gonzalez, Associated Press Writer – Thu Sep 9, 7:43 pm ET

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The anti-Muslim leader of a tiny Florida church backed off his threat to burn the Quran, defusing an international firestorm Thursday after he said he was promised that a planned Islamic center and mosque would be moved away from New York's ground zero. The imam planning the center, however, quickly denied such a deal.

The Rev. Terry Jones had been under intense pressure to abandon his plan to burn the Quran on Saturday, the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. President Barack Obama urged him to listen to "those better angels" and give up his "stunt," saying it would endanger U.S. troops and give Islamic terrorists a recruiting tool. Defense Secretary Robert Gates took the extraordinary step of calling Jones personally.

Standing outside his 50-member Pentecostal church, the Dover Outreach Center, alongside Imam Muhammad Musri, the president of the Islamic Society of Central Florida, Jones said he relented when Musri assured him that the New York mosque will be moved.

Jones had never invoked the mosque controversy as a reason for his planned protest. He cited his belief that the Quran is evil because it espouses something other than biblical truth and incites radical, violent behavior among Muslims.

But he said Thursday that that he prayed about the decision and concluded that if the mosque was moved, it would be a sign from God to call off the Quran burning.

"We are, of course, now against any other group burning Qurans," Jones said. "We would right now ask no one to burn Qurans. We are absolutely strong on that. It is not the time to do it."

Musri thanked Jones and his church members "for making the decision today to defuse the situation and bring to a positive end what has become the world over a spectacle that no one would benefit from except extremists and terrorists" who would use it to recruit future radicals.

After the news conference, however, Musri told The Associated Press there is no deal to move the mosque. He said there was only an agreement for him and Jones to travel to New York and meet Saturday with the imam overseeing plans to build a mosque near ground zero.

"I told the pastor that I personally believe the mosque should not be there, and I will do everything in my power to make sure it is moved," Musri said. "But there is not any offer from there (New York) that it will be moved. All we have agreed to is a meeting, and I think we would all like to see a peaceful resolution."
It goes on to recap, ETC. So the simple question posed to me was this.

"Hey Pete, simply put, what do you think?"

I was never for the Pastor burning the Quran to begin with. Yes, I DO still have serious reservation on Islam being a "Religion of Peace." The FACTS just seem to point otherwise. Yes, I do not recognize the Quran, to be the Word of God. Sorry. But I'm also not Muslim. I also think, as stupid as it may be, the Pastor has a Constitutional RIGHT to Burn it. I'm GLAD he backed off.

OK. Now having said all that, I think this guy, with a Church of 50 people, was trying to make a name for himself. He GOT GLOBAL attention. Even the Pope got involved. I still do not see how burning the Muslim Book makes any kind of point to begin with. It would not put our Troops in more danger than they already are, nor would it make the world LESS safe. They have been at war with us since BEFORE we even had a Navy. True. Look it up. So this was nothing more than an attention getting stunt. In MY Opinion.

However, IF he DID cut a deal with the Imam in reference to moving the Ground Zero Mosque? That would be quite an achievement. But I think he got suckered. I do not think that they have an intention whatsoever to move it. But I guess we will have to wait and see.

Numbers Do Not Lie

It IS Obama's and the Left's fault

Hey folks,

I know, I know. We are going to deal with Numbers. We are going to talk about the National Debt. Some of you are thinking, "I'm not a numbers person. I'm not a money guy. This is boring to me." That may be the truth with a lot of people out there, but with the Looney Left attempting to go back to what brought them to the dance, "Blame Bush." So we have to look at this.

OK. You have a Bank account. Most Banks today, will let you run on a deficit. To a limit. Oh it will cost you a bit more, but they will let it "ride" so to speak. In other words, you go to pay your Mortgage. Your Mortgage is $1600.00. You only have $1400.00. the Bank will still pay it. However, NOW your account is -$230.00. When you get paid again, whatever you make, it subtracted this amount. $1000. minus $230.00, now your balance is $770.00. But the Mortgage is paid.

Here is what you do NOT do. Your account shows -$230.00? You do NOT repay $500.00 and say it's not your fault, you have to fix what was wrong. No. Because the OTHER $270.00 has NOTHING to do with the debt. Only YOU know what you are using the $270.00 for. The dept is nothing more than an excuse. Now if the debt IS $230.00, and you borrow $500.00 to repay that, you NOW owe $500.00. $230.00 of which you can blame the Mortgage on. The rest is all YOU.

This is what Obama and Crew are doing. "We have to spend all this to get us out of the mess Bush left us." This is SIMPLY not true. The numbers do not lie. According to CNS - Obama Added More to National Debt in First 19 Months Than All Presidents from Washington Through Reagan Combined, Says Gov’t Data Wednesday, September 08, 2010 By Terence P. Jeffrey, Editor-in-Chief

(CNSNews.com) - In the first 19 months of the Obama administration, the federal debt held by the public increased by $2.5260 trillion, which is more than the cumulative total of the national debt held by the public that was amassed by all U.S. presidents from George Washington through Ronald Reagan.

The U.S. Treasury Department divides the federal debt into two categories. One is “debt held by the public,” which includes U.S. government securities owned by individuals, corporations, state or local governments, foreign governments and other entities outside the federal government itself. The other is “intragovernmental” debt, which includes I.O.U.s the federal government gives to itself when, for example, the Treasury borrows money out of the Social Security “trust fund” to pay for expenses other than Social Security.

At the end of fiscal year 1989, which ended eight months after President Reagan left office, the total federal debt held by the public was $2.1907 trillion, according to the Congressional Budget Office. That means all U.S. presidents from George Washington through Ronald Reagan had accumulated only that much publicly held debt on behalf of American taxpayers. That is $335.3 billion less than the $2.5260 trillion that was added to the federal debt held by the public just between Jan. 20, 2009, when President Obama was inaugurated, and Aug. 20, 2010, the 19-month anniversary of Obama's inauguration.
I know, like I said, many are not numbers people. But I hope you really get this. This Regime, including Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of the Looney Left, are spending at a blinding rate to pay for a bunch or pet projects that they have wanted for years. Most of which, have NOTHING to do with Bush.
By contrast, President Reagan was sworn into office on Jan. 20, 1981 and left office eight years later on Jan. 20, 1989. At the end of fiscal 1980, four months before Reagan was inaugurated, the federal debt held by the public was $711.9 billion, according to CBO. At the end of fiscal 1989, eight months after Reagan left office, the federal debt held by the public was $2.1907 trillion. That means that in the nine-fiscal-year period of 1980-89--which included all of Reagan’s eight years in office--the federal debt held by the public increased $1.4788 trillion. That is in excess of a trillion dollars less than the $2.5260 increase in the debt held by the public during Obama’s first 19 months.

When President Barack Obama took the oath of office on Jan. 20, 2009, the total federal debt held by the public stood at 6.3073 trillion, according to the Bureau of the Public Debt, a division of the U.S. Treasury Department. As of Aug. 20, 2010, after the first nineteen months of President Obama’s 48-month term, the total federal debt held by the public had grown to a total of $8.8333 trillion, an increase of $2.5260 trillion.

In just the last four months (May through August), according to the CBO, the Obama administration has run cumulative deficits of $464 billion, more than the $458 billion deficit the Bush administration ran through the entirety of fiscal 2008.
That is more debt in FOUR MONTHS than Bush TOTAL. Are you getting this?

The CBO predicted this week that the annual budget deficit for fiscal 2010, which ends on the last day of this month, will exceed $1.3 trillion.

The first two fiscal years in which Obama has served will see the two biggest federal deficits as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product since the end of World War II.

“CBO currently estimates that the deficit for 2010 will be about $70 billion below last year’s total but will still exceed $1.3 trillion,” said the CBO’s monthly budget review for September, which was released yesterday. “Relative to the size of the economy, this year’s deficit is expected to be the second-largest shortfall in the past 65 years: At 9.1 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), that deficit will be exceeded only by last year’s deficit of 9.9 percent of GDP.”
It is time to STOP blaming Bush. IT IS THE DEMOCRATS in power, and Obama in the White House. IT IS THE DEMOCRATS that are spending our Grand and Great Grand Kids into dept. They can blame Bush all they want. But the numbers tell the truth.

New "Gore" School Poster Child For Pollution

Hazardous to your kids Mental, and Physical Health.

Hey folks,

Happy Hump Day! Sorry, I have to postpone answering another question that is being posed to me. I planned on it today, but I will have to wait on that. Someone may answer it for me in the next couple of days. I will explain more in a day or so.

But I did come across this. THIS is too funny. You all know about the phenomenon of Snowstorms that plague Al Gore's Speaking trips on "Global Warming." He has been snowed out enough times that one could wonder if someone was trying to tell him and those that blindly follow him, that what he is saying is complete BS, and he need not continue.

But NOW? The Liberals in the Public {Government Run Indoctrination Centers} Education field attempted to name a School after Al Gore. The Father of the Church of Man-Made Global Warming. They ACTUALLY come right out and say that it is based on his Movie "An Inconvenient Truth." {Laughing}

"An Inconvenient Truth." Yeah, you know, the movie that the "Experts" including some of the Scientists he USED in the Movie, came out and said that it was nothing but Bunk? Something like 27 different incorrect bits of information that Gore attempted to pass off as Scientific Fact. Hell, he used clips from a Sci -Fi Movie {Day After Tomorrow} in his Movie. No one takes this seriously anymore. The SCAM that is Man-Made Global Warming is all but dead. Oh of course there are some trying to revive it. There is a lot of money to be made. But there is no THREAT to Mankind.

However, that can NOT be said about the $75.5 Million Carson-Gore Academy of Environmental Sciences that will open Sept. 13 for about 675 students. Gore's name follows another Environut Rachel Carson, who was an Author some credit with helping launch the modern Environmental SCAM Movement.

Yes, the Carson-Gore Academy sounds lovely. Indoc,,,uh, teaching young, ignorant, heads full of putty, Students, about the dangers of man, and the beauty of nature. Teaching them that they should live in tents, and allow those that tell them what to do to collect THEIR money, live in Mansions and fly around the world to tell everyone how evil they are. Yes, maybe this school will educate more people like James Lee, who wants man to stop reproducing because we are killing the Planet. They even want a Garden. A happy little Garden and that could produce a Student Farmer's Market.

So what could possibly be the problem? Critics say that the Carson-Gore Academy of Environmental Sciences location poses a long term Health risk to Students and Staff. It's CONTAMINATED!! They even admit this. Yet they say it's safe. You have to read this.

Construction crews were working at the campus up to the Labor Day weekend, replacing toxic soil with clean fill. All told, workers removed dirt from two 3,800-square-foot plots to a depth of 45 feet, space enough to hold a four-story building. The soil had contained more than a dozen underground storage tanks serving light industrial businesses.

Additional contamination may have come from the underground tanks of an adjacent gas station. A barrier will stretch 45 feet down from ground level to limit future possible fuel leakage.

An oil well operates across the street, but officials said they've found no associated risks. Like many local campuses, this school also sits above an oil field, but no oil field-related methane has been detected.

Groundwater about 45 feet below the surface remains contaminated but also poses no risk, officials said.

Because the district imported clean dirt, the school is probably safe at the moment, said Jane Williams, executive director of the Kern County-based California Communities Against Toxics. But she and other critics, including Robina Suwol, who heads the locally based California Safe Schools coalition, worry that the pollution sources have not been adequately identified and that the dirty groundwater could recontaminate the soil.
{Laughing} Yeah it's contaminated, but no problem. Even the Evironuts are not happy with this.

"Renaming this terribly contaminated school after famous environmental advocates is an affront to the great work that these individuals have done to protect the public's health from harm," an environmental coalition wrote in a letter to the Los Angeles Unified School District. Making sure the school is safe "would be an even better way to honor their contribution to society."
As for that wonderful Student Farmer's Market? Robina Suwol, who heads the locally based California Safe Schools Coalition, said this.

Suwol said Lowry sounds "incredibly wonderful," but added that she'd feel better if the vegetables were grown in planters above the ground.
Folks, I would not send my kids to this place to begin with. Not even to show them the sheer stupidity, and lunacy, of the whole GWBS. But if I were you, and even if I bought into the whole GWBS, commonsense SHOULD tell you to keep your kids away from a School that officials TELL YOU is contaminated, yet "safe." You kind of have to feel bad for poor old Al. The guy just can't catch a break. {Smile}

Have a great days folks. See you soon.

New Fire Shows Why We Need to Stop Drilling

No it really doesn't.

Hey folks,

This may be a week where I answer some of the questions that I have gotten over the last couple of days. First up, since it is Tuesday, lets check in at the Energy Front.

"Hey pete, this new fire shows why we need to stop all drilling. Does it not? perhaps this is not as rare as you and the other Righters want everyone to believe. I noticed you never even mentioned it. What do not like the truth?"

I have no problem with the truth. The TRUTH is that this had nothing to do with Drilling. Nor a malfunction of any kind with oil to begin with. It occurred while crews were performing normal routine maintenance and painting. It was out by mid afternoon. Here is what our friends over at Energy Tomorrow had to say about it.

Energy Tomorrow - Fire Doesn't Support Calls for the Moratorium
By Jane Van Ryan Friday 3 September 2010

Mariner Energy platform fire was an industrial
accident that should not be compared to the Deepwater Horizon. "There was no blowout, no explosion, no injuries, no spill," according to Patrick Cassidy, the company's director of investor relations. (
The New York Times)

Furthermore, the fire occurred during routine platform maintenance while crew members were cleaning and painting. It was not caused by any drilling or production operations. By mid-afternoon yesterday, the fire had been extinguished.

Also, the automatic safety valves worked swiftly to shut-in the oil and natural gas to protect the environment. A U.S. Coast Guard official yesterday said, "The company monitors each of these wells, and their data showed there's no flow." (
The New York Times)
Yeah I know, that doesn't fit the narrative. I know the Evironuts want you to think that the big one is right around the corner. Hell, they are STILL yelling out that the Oil from the Deep Horizon Accident is out there, lurking, waiting, I guess for everyone to go home, THEN it will cause the Natural Disaster that they were dreaming of.

The facts just do not line up with the Gloom and Doom of the Left. The FACTS remain that we need Oil. We NEED to Drill NOW and DRILL HERE. We Need to Vote the Children out of power and bring in some Adults that although may share the similar dream of a "Greener Earth," they have the ability to distinguish between the Dream and Reality. Those that understand that there is nothing out there to switch to. Those that understand we can work TOWARD a alternative, while we ensure that we have a sufficient amount of what we NEED.

Do not be fooled folks this fire has nothing to do with drilling. That is why I did not talk about it. As Patrick said "There was no blowout, no explosion, no injuries, no spill." So really, what IS there to talk about? It really was a non-event.

DLA for Sunday 090510
IWA For Sunday 090510

We'll get to all that in a second. Did you know that you bought the "Ground Zero Mosque Imam's" new book? Yes you did. You did not just buy one, you bought 2,000 copies. I'm not making this up folks. according to Human Events Online - State Dept. Pressed for Imam Book Explanation by Emily Miller
The State Department spent $10,000 of taxpayer funds to buy 2,000 copies of the book written by Ground Zero mosque promoter Feisal Abdul Rauf. U.S. embassy employees are distributing the book during the imam’s taxpayer-funded tour to Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Yup. YOU, me, and every other tax payer bought and paid for this Moron's Book.

But the arrangement calls into question whether the U.S. government’s funding of a book which promotes the Muslim religion is in violation of the 1st Amendment’s separation of church and state.

The State Department defends the right to distribute this book by saying the book is not “religious.” An official told HUMAN EVENTS that “we would consider a religious book to be something like the Koran and the Bible. We look at those as book on religion or books about religious.”
{Laughing} Can you imagine Ten Grand of your tax money being used to buy 2000 copies of Glenn Beck's Why Jesus Matters?" Think that they would be cool with that?

Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, told HUMAN EVENTS that the State Department’s “argument that only the Bible and the Koran are religious books makes no sense.”

“It’s inappropriate for the federal government to purchase and distribute this book,” the liberal Lynn said. “It’s just as bad if the government sent out a book by Glenn Beck on his view of Christianity.”
WOW! I'm in agreement with Lynn?!?!?

Lynn takes issue with State Department programs which pay for religious leaders like the imam to travel overseas. “There are dozens or hundreds of religious leaders sent to other countries—priests, ministers, rabbis and imams—and nobody is monitoring.”

The State Department is spending $16,000 as on Rauf’s tour of the Middle East as part of the “speakers program” within the Bureau of International Information Programs.

“There is no oversight by Congress of the taxpayer-paid religious leaders sent on overseas tours by the State Department,” says Lynn.

Asked about the Democrats ability to launch an investigation into the expenditure of funds and manpower on the imam’s book, Lynn seemed to concede that Republicans would take control of Congress in November. “They have a limited amount of time to do anything,” he said.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)—which litigates against Christian symbols such as the cross and Ten Commandments in public places—refused to comment on the Islamic book controversy.
So there you have it folks. YOU Bought the Moron's Book. YOU are paying for him to fly around the world to meet with our Enemies. AND People wonder WHY they think Obama is a Muslim?

Be right back.

More Political Correctness BS / More Racial Divide

Here we go again.

Hey folks,

There are so many questions after reading this piece in the Des Moines Register. None of which are really answered in the story. I guess this is a follow up but I do not have the original piece, and I have MANY questions.

According to the Des Moines Register - Police spokeswoman moved after remarks on fairgrounds fights By DANIEL P. FINNEY

Des Moines Police Chief Judy Bradshaw reassigned her department's spokeswoman Thursday, two weeks after Sgt. Lori Lavorato said it was "very possible" fights near the Iowa State Fairgrounds had racial overtones.

The move came as a part of a series of police command assignment changes announced to officers by e-mail Thursday, the details of which have not been made public.
Well, IS IT? Of course it is. But this Spokesperson is now in trouble for pointing out the OBVIOUS.

Bradshaw, who could not be reached for comment Thursday, raised concerns about statements Lavorato made after a series of fights outside the fairgrounds last month.

A supplemental report about the Aug. 20 incident filed by Sgt. Dave Murillo said, "On-duty officers at the fairgrounds advise there was a group of 30 to 40 individuals roaming the fairgrounds openly calling it 'beat whitey night.' "
So how many fights were there? Is this group Black? How many of the group beat up White People? It is TRUE?

While answering questions from the news media three days later, Lavorato said, "It's all under investigation, but it's very possible it has racial overtones."

Police commanders later said they found no credible evidence the fights were racially motivated.
Just because of the cowardliness of a few Suits, doesn't mean that the original Statement, and the FACTS are not what they are. How many Victims were White? How many attackers were NON-White? Were there any witnesses that HEARD them say it is "beat whitey night?" Let the PC Spin begin.

"I had some real concerns with us making that leap and making a remark like that publicly," Bradshaw told The Des Moines Register in an Aug. 26 interview. "That's a huge statement that, quite frankly, can provoke emotions on both sides of the issue.

"People are very sensitive to remarks like that, so I had some real grave concerns about us stepping out and I wanted to make certain that we were right to message the State Fair events that way."
Yeah but if it is TRUE, then SAY SO. Stop prancing around the issue. If you have a group of Blacks, going around attacking people just because they are WHITE then they are GUILTY of Hate Crimes. Stating the FACTS is your JOB and screw those that are offended by someone telling the TRUTH. It goes on to talk about the transfers ETC. But this is the sort of thing that does NOTHING to further Race Relations.

By the Police NOT following up on the FACTS. For them being fearful to speak the truth. By the thugs getting a pass on Hate Crime Legislation, all this does is BREED MORE RACISM, increase the Racial Divide, and creates MORE problems by encouraging more of this type of behaviour.

There are Racists in EVERY Race. There are those that Hate in every Race. Those that act out on the hatred, must be held accountable for their actions. As I keep saying, if we are to ever have TRUE EQUALITY in this Country, we have to treat everyone EQUALLY. The good, Bad, and ugly.

Christianity Vs Islam

Special Sunday Edition "From the Emails"

Hey folks,

"Hey Pete. You were talking about your growing uncertainty of what some call peaceful Islam. You have also spoke out against what you see as the Mainstream Media and others being able to attack Christianity without reprisals. I thought that you might like to know you are not alone. Check out this piece in Human Events by Doug Giles. It almost sounds like something you would write. Peace to you."

Hey CS, thanks for sharing it. You are right. It is an excellent piece. Sorry for the delayed posting. Still under the weather, but here I am none the less. Here it is folks, From Human Events Online - Blame Stream Media: Christianity Sucks and Islam is Yummy? by Doug Giles

Man, don’t cha love how the Blame Stream Media© and their soft-brain disciples make Christians out to be fish-stickered, bug-eyed equals to incensed Islam? If you were to accept as true what some atheists, secularists and prattling gay activists say about Christians, you’d think the church is chomping at the bit to chop off some heads of unbelievers, glory to Gawd!

Yep, if you were to believe the barf belched out by the BS brokers on the Left, you’d stagger away Kool Aid drunk with the belief that there is little disparity between conservative Christians and militant Muslims.

As a matter of fact, you probably would be bamboozled into believing that Islam is a peaceful, Little House on the Prairie religion being temporarily hijacked by jihadist renegades, and Christianity . . . Christianity is the real charity-vacant, vicious cult that’s vying for the opportunity to seize the whip and whip us good.

Yes, the postmodern reality stylists are working their butts off trying to convince us TV-addled cattle of two primary things: 1) violent jihad is not based on the Koran and 2) All conservative Christians are theocrats ready to burn Lindsay Lohan at the stake, stone Jay Alexander in a nearby gravel pit and governmentally ramrod Christianity down everyone’s pie hole.

I haven’t seen this kind of ham-fisted, forced PR, farcical facade being parlayed upon the public since Michael Jackson tried to make out with Lisa Marie in an attempt to convince us all he’d found true love in an adult of the opposite sex.

Look, there’s no denying violent things have been done by the church and in the name of God, but that has been the exception and not the rule. In addition, when the church has spent time with its head up its butt doing bogus things, the church’s leaders have historically owned it when wrong, have not repeated the gaff, have grabbed the wheel and have effectively steered saints out of any erroneous, detrimental ditch.

Not so with Islam.

A few years ago mi amigo, Robert Spencer unleashed a book, Religion of Peace: Why Christianity Is and Islam Isn’t, which shredded the chipper Islam spin. Bob showed those who can still be shown anything factual the massive and fundamental differences between Islam and Christianity. That they are not equal no matter how much the blah blah blatherers of political correctness purport them to be. Their beliefs are not similar, nor their practices, nor their means to spreading their message—and to think otherwise, postmodern Pollyanna, could cost you your ass.

Spencer pointed out the crystal clear facts that clash with the current anti-Christian hype such as . . .

• Most Muslims do not condemn jihad.

• Christianity and Islam have neither similar traditions nor similar modern realities—Christian religious violence, real or imagined, does not mitigate the reality of jihad.

• A “Christian theocracy” in America is a figment of the Left’s imagination.

• The Islamic world has never developed the distinction between religious and secular law that is inherent in Christianity.

• Christianity has embraced reason—and Islam has always rejected it.

• The Koran does not invite interpretation, and Muslim leaders refuse to discuss how to fit their beliefs into modern society.

• Political differences and unwanted international interference are not, in fact, the cause of the turmoil in Iraq and Middle Eastern antagonism towards the west.

• Jews, Christians and peoples of other faiths (or no faiths) are equally at risk from militant Islam.

• The most determined enemies of western civilization may not be the jihadists at all, but the leftists who fear their churchgoing neighbors more than Islamic terrorists.

Listen, 21st century truth reconstructors . . . you’ve gotta relax. Please do us all a favor and go get healed from your bad Sunday school experience and lay down your church-grinding axe. Thinking people aren’t buying the “Christianity = Islam” smack.

You and I both know that regardless of what a few loopy CINO’s (Christians in name only) have done via violence in the name of the Father that it is not in the body of Christian doctrine to hack off the noggin of the obstreperous. There’s not even an obscure passage in the Book of Revelation that some demented clod could twist like your Gumby doll to make the Christian scripture green light your demise or anyone else’s.

Additionally, Christians aren’t longing for TBN to replace DC as our nation’s headquarters.

So chill, you shrill shredders of Christianity.

On the flip side, it is within the pages of the Koran to convert, conquer or kill non-Islamic people. And I’m a thinkin’ that no matter how much you work to besmirch Christianity and misinform on behalf of militant Islam, that if they had it their way, you, the secularist, would be a deceased grease stain on God’s green earth.

Therefore, gay guy, relax on the anti-Christian rhetoric, okay? Atheists, dial down and go back to studying monkeys (or whatever you do) and secularists, switch to decaf and exhale because you guys are barking up the wrong tree in trying to paint Christians as a coercive, could-be-violent, cabal like, militant Islam.

Radical Muslims, on the other hand, are the ones you need to sweat—because their book has zero tolerance for the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Christopher Hitchens and Jay Alexander—or anyone for that matter, who doesn’t lock step. You can bet your backside that if uncut Islam were in charge, Michael Bloomberg would be history, Drew Barrymore would be nevermore and Elton John would never be seen again.

The Judeo-Christian worldview (and subsequently, the great western traditions it under girds) is the only powerful cudgel in existence to ward off militant Islam. That’s what makes the Left’s lies about Christ’s Church and the Left’s desires to diminish it so diabolical. If the church’s presence and power gets marginalized via these secularists’s anti-Christian propaganda, then all I’ve got to say is, “I hope everyone is cool with wearing burkas.”
I have nothing to add.
Peter

Hair Gives a Heads Up On Heart Attack Risk

Heart Attacks are scary and sometimes come out of nowhere.

Hey folks,

Growing up, my Grandfather had Parkinson's Disease. For those of you that might not know, Parkinson's disease is a degenerative disorder of the central Nervous System that often impairs the sufferer's motor skills, speech, and other functions. My Grandpa was never "Normal" when I knew him. Back then, one of the treatments were to freeze parts of the Brain to attempt to slow the progression. He was not able to get around on his own, nor talk. I am sad to admit it, but as a kid, I was scared of him from time to time.

My Grandmother had many roles in life. His 24 - 7 Caretaker, my Mother figure, Feeder of the Community. ETC. As many of you know, I see my Grandmother as a Saint and EVERYONE in Salisbury Mills NY knew "Dot."

Well, all of us expected Grandpa to go first. My Mother, and Aunts Sandy, Susie, and Uncle Ron, all expected to deal with the Death of Grandpa any day. Then, one morning around 1 am, Grandma Dot was sitting in her favorite chair when my Grandpa called out for help. She stood, dropped dead. Doctor said she was most likely dead before she hit the floor. Major Heart Attack. Grandpa died about a year later, nearly to the day. Some say he died of a BROKEN Heart.

I have a friend, Niko. Healthy, exercised, ate right, never smoked, ETC. Dropped one day from a Heart Attack. Many others have have known over the years, seemingly happy and healthy, all of a sudden, dead.

So when I saw this article in Live Science, it go my attention. It's by Stephanie Pappas LiveScience Senior Writer

Stress may make you want to pull out your hair, but those tresses could be the key to measuring just how much stress you're under, according to a new study.

The study found that the stress hormone cortisol can be measured in hair, providing the first long-term record of chronic stress that doesn't rely on a person's memories. High levels of cortisol in hair were associated with heart attacks, the researchers reported online today in the journal Stress.

The findings could provide a new way to research chronic stress, according to the researchers. If the results can be replicated, the test may eventually be used in the doctor's office to identify people at high risk for cardiovascular disease.
There are MANY Studies out there over the years that DO indicate that Stress leads to Heart Attacks and other Cardiovascular Diseases. It is pretty much settled.

A record of stress

The hair on your head is dead, but its follicle, or root, is alive. Substances like cortisol, which get released into the bloodstream when you're stressed, can seep into the follicle from the tiny blood vessels in the skin of the scalp. As the hair grows, traces of cortisol get trapped in the shaft, providing a way for researchers to measure the hormone over time. Because hair grows about 0.4 inches (1 centimeter) per month, most people have many months' worth of records of cortisol levels sitting on top of their heads. Previous measures of cortisol in blood or urine could record only a few hours' or days' worth of the hormone.

"[Hair] tells me what happened to you in the last 10 months," study researcher Gideon Koren, a professor of pediatric medicine and toxicology at the University of Western Ontario, told LiveScience. "I can even see how things change monthly."

Koren had previously used hair samples to measure drug toxicity in infants whose mothers used cocaine and heroine while pregnant. He learned that other colleagues were using similar methods to detect steroids in the systems of bodybuilders. If hair could accurately measure body-boosting steroids, he realized, it might also hold a record of other hormones, like cortisol. Previous research had found that the cortisol persists in the hair for at least six months, and in the case of several Peruvian mummies, up to 1,500 years.

Hair and heart attacks

To test the idea, Koren and his colleagues took hair samples from 120 men who checked into the cardiac unit of the Meir Medical Center in Israel. Half of the men were diagnosed with heart attacks, while the other half had other diagnoses like chest pain and infection. Only men were studied because heart attacks are more common in men, and because hormonal differences between men and women could skew the results.

The researchers analyzed the cortisol levels in the 1.2 inches (3 cm) of hair closest to the scalp, representing about the last three months of the patients' lives.

They found that cortisol levels were significantly higher in men who had heart attacks compared with men who had other illnesses. When the researchers split the men into quartiles based on their cortisol levels, they found that of the men with the lowest levels, 32 percent had heart attacks. In the men in the uppermost quartile of cortisol, that number jumped to 68 percent.

The results held even after controlling for other heart-attack risk factors like cholesterol levels and body mass index (a measure of body fatness).

"It's not the only one, of course, but cortisol is an important determinant of acute myocardial infarction," Koren said, using the technical term for heart attack.
Once this becomes available, I will sign up for it. I have a bit of stress in my life. Should be interesting to see what this test would show. But it has a way to go.

Testing the test

The results will need to be replicated with larger numbers of patients before hair-cortisol testing goes mainstream, Koren warned. Other research has shown that cortisol levels in the hair do match cortisol levels in the blood, but Koren and his colleagues aren't yet sure if their results will apply to women. They also didn't test whether hair cortisol levels matched people's subjective feelings of stress.

If the test works, however, it could be a noninvasive way to measure stress over time. That's important, Koren said, because people's long-term memories of stress aren't always reliable.

"It could be another tool for us, if it's possible to do and not expensive," said Alicja Fishell, a psychiatrist at Women's College Hospital in Toronto. Fishell, who has collaborated with Koren before but was not involved in the current study, said the findings could one day prove useful to research in her area, reproductive health, because the effect of chronic stress on pregnant women and fetuses is not well-understood.

"We need to have a good study that really correlates" the relationship between stress and later psychiatric problems in women at different reproductive stages of life, Fishell said.
Like I said. Sigh me up. I know I have stress. How do I relieve it? I go to the Gym. I work out some of it against machines that have no mercy and no give. I listen to music. I take long walks and bike rides and spend as much time as I can with my Boy. I'm looking forward to finding out what my second child will be on Sept. 10. Family and friends, Music and Exercise, enjoying Nature itself, can relieve more stress than you can possibly believe.

Find what works for you, and remember, life is too short, and there is not Restart Button. As the old saying goes, don't sweat the little stuff. The big stuff? Well, deal with it head on, and put it to rest. Find what works best for you, then just do it.

Coming from the O Files.

Hey folks,

I love the Osgood Files. On Friday he was talking with Prof. Robert Barro, Harvard University, about the Economy. Here is the Transcript.

The other day in The Wall Street Journal, Harvard University economics professor Robert Barro wrote that by extending jobless benefits to as much as 99 weeks, Congress and the Obama Administration are now subsidizing unemployment - and that if it weren't for that, the unemployment rate might be six-point-eight percent, instead of hovering around nine-and-a-half percent. His reasoning after this...

((( SPOT )))

Harvard economist Robert Barro's contention that this Congress and Administration may be prolonging, rather than shortening, the jobless recession is based in part on two things.

SOT - Prof. Robert Barro, Harvard University
"There's been a very large increase in the long-term unemployed, in particular - it stands out relative to previous recessions, post-World War II..." (:09)

And the second factor?

SOT - Prof. Robert Barro
"It's generally accepted that that expansion - a more liberal unemployment insurance program - would encourage people to take somewhat longer finding jobs, accepting jobs - searching for them..." (:10)

And so?

SOT - Prof. Robert Barro
"So, I put the two facts together - it's conceivable we could have a substantial effect on the unemployment rate - and at least a rough 'guesstimate' that it could've been instead of nine-and-a-half percent, we might've gotten something closer to seven percent." (:13)

It's not that the unemployed don't want to work, he says.

SOT - Prof. Robert Barro
"People, of course, still want to find work - and it's still true that it's a difficult atmosphere to find work when we're in a big recession. But, it's still true that people can look more - and they can look at more jobs, they can accept jobs that are less attractive than what they were used to..." (:15)

No doubt it was out of compassion and good intentions that the government extended those benefits. They just think it's pretty cold and Scroogey for Professor Barrow to point out what he's pointing out.

SOT - Prof. Robert Barro
"There seems to be a lot of reluctance of actually putting forward the hypothesis that part of the increase in the unemployment rate, particularly long term, could've been fashioned because of this liberalization of the benefits." (:11)

The Osgood File. Charles Osgood on the CBS Radio Network.

The Osgood File. September 3rd, 2010.
Thank you Charles Osgood for airing this. Congratulations to YOU Professor Barro for not only having the courage to ask the question, but the courage to openly state the Logical and accurate answer to that question. Is it Liberal Policies that are extending the Economic Crisis we are in today? Of course.

IWA For Sunday 090510

Agree or not, this is just wrong.

Hey folks,

Time to wrap things up with the Idiot of the Week. Surprisingly, I find myself agreeing with CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad, who released the following statement.

"Just as all Muslims should not be blamed for the actions of a few extremists, neither should all Christians or all Americans be blamed for the intentionally offensive actions of the Dove World Outreach Center," said CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad. "Pastor Terry Jones represents nothing but an extremist fringe."

He said the Dove World Outreach Center is only seeking cheap publicity and does not represent mainstream Christianity.

"Media professionals have a responsibility to put this publicity stunt in its proper context in their reports and commentaries," said Awad.

CAIR this week distributed a television public service announcement (PSA) that implicitly challenges the Quran burnings.
Now I am still having reservations about Islam itself, and I am finding it more and more difficult to distinguish the difference between "Peaceful Islam and "Extremist Islam," for reasons pretty well laid out in the Human Events Online peace. Yet, I encourage the MMD to follow Mr. Awad's advice and report the FACTS on this and not simply use it as an excuse to bash all Christians.

When I first heard this, I thought it was just another attention seeking Westboro Baptist Church Leader and Gay-Basher Extraordinaire Fred Phelps moment. I have and many have, spoke out against this Idiot on more than a few occasions. Unlike the Muslim Community, we in the Christian Community are quick to point out that this guy is NOT a Christian, nor does he represent TRUE Christianity.

Well, seems he might finally have some competition for the title of America’s most attention seeking hate filled Church Preacher. You see, on Sept. 11, Terry Jones, and his Dove World Outreach Center, will hold the first “International Burn a Koran Day” Ceremony on the steps of his church in Gainesville, Fla. According to the Church’s Website, the event was organized “in remembrance of the fallen victims of 9/11 and to stand against the evil of Islam. Islam is of the devil!”

Pastor, or Idiot, Terry Jones said this.

"We believe that Islam is of the devil, that it's causing billions of people to go to hell, it is a deceptive religion, it is a violent religion and that is proven many, many times," Pastor Terry Jones told CNN's Rick Sanchez earlier this week.
During this interview, he went on to say this.

"I mean ask yourself, have you ever really seen a really happy Muslim? As they're on the way to Mecca? As they gather together in the mosque on the floor? Does it look like a real religion of joy?" Jones asks in one of his YouTube posts.

"No, to me it looks like a religion of the devil."
Now unlike the Islam Community, Christians are speaking out against this.

The National Association of Evangelicals, the nation's largest umbrella evangelical group, issued a statement urging the church to cancel the event, warning it could cause worldwide tension between the two religions.

"The NAE calls on its members to cultivate relationships of trust and respect with our neighbors of other faiths. God created human beings in his image, and therefore all should be treated with dignity and respect," it said in the statement.
When is the last time you heard "Peaceful Muslims" speak out against 9-11, the notion that all non - Muslims be killed, and or the "Ground Zero Mosque." You don't. That is part of the problem.

But any time you have a Christian Kook stand up and attempt to do something that is AGAINST Christianity and it's principles, you have no shortage of Christians standing up against them.

So even if you agree, that at least in appearance, Islam is far from a peaceful Religion, you have to understand that Burning the Koran is just plain wrong. It goes completely against what we stand for in America. It's called the First Amendment. What if the Muslims were Burning the Bible? Would you be OK with that? Of course not. Congratulations Idiot Terry Jones, you ARE the Idiot of the Week, for calling on others that you lead to do what is against God and America. People like you should not be Pastors. Ever wonder why you only have a 100 count membership?

Under the Weather

As often happens at the Beginning of School.

Hey folks,

As you all know, this is Josh's first year of real school. He goes off, and then brings stuff back. Just like he did in Preschool and my Niece did nearly every year in her School life. What do they bring home with them. Yup. Sickness.

Feeling pretty under the weather today. Hopefully I will get it knocked out before it becomes a real problem. However, not able to really concentrate right now. I'm sure I will be loading up on V C and other remedies. Be back as soon as I can.

A Liberal Disguised As A Man of The Cloth

Interestingly, HE never mentions Jesus, nor points out where Beck is wrong.

Hey folks,

Happy Hump Day. So they are still talking about the "Restoring Honor" Rally in Washington DC this past Saturday. As I told you before, Liberals ALWAYS attack what they fear. Some are still attempting to get you to believe that this was nothing more than a few thousand White, Racists. Notice how NO ONE is talking about the numbers of the Rev. Sharpton Rally? {Smile}

They HATE the fact that nearly a half Million of you were there. They HATE the fact that Glenn Beck, well, breaths, was there. They HATE the fact that the word GOD was mentioned. They HATE that this was actually a successful Rally.

So this Liberal, disguised as a Man of God, and I know a few, gets his Op-Ed published in the Washington Post. Entitled Glenn Beck's generic God. Oh yeah, they HATE Fox News too. It starts off with this.

Fox News host Glenn Beck muddled biblical references with fragments of American history, recreating a pottage of civil religion that says America has a divine destiny and claiming that a national revival is beginning.
Well, he is RIGHT. This guy HATES the fact that Beck DARED to invoke God, and put God in America again. He HATES that Beck talked about the Founding Fathers and the whole reason that they formed this Country. FREEDOM. With that FREEDOM, the number one component is Freedom OF Religion. This guy obviously knows nothing about the REAL History of this Country.

At the very beginning of the "Restoring Honor" Rally at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Beck proclaimed, "Something beyond imagination is happening. Something that is beyond man is happening. America today begins to turn back to God."
I have talked about the Moral Decline in this Country for years. I did a whole series on it. It is happening right in front of us. From Liberals attempting to remove God from Schools to all Public places, to the incorrect and non-existent "Wall," we are left with what we have now. Beck talked about America, and even some Churches appear to be asleep, and this slumber is what is allowing all this to take place. This slumber is what causes people, even people of Faith, to allow someone like Obama and his Regime to come in and take over. This is how Tyranny begins. Good people doing nothing.

Beck compares America's history with the Jews that were lead to the promised land by Moses. He talked about what happened after God's chosen people got to the promised land. They fell asleep. They forgot WHY they we there. They forgot WHO it was that freed them. They turned to idols and lust. You all know the story. Well, Glenn compared that to the way America seems to be heading today. We forget that we are here because of FREEDOM. We are here because of God. We ARE a Christian Nation. Sorry, but we are.

He went on to highlight what I guess he found incorrect. I don't. Beck was a hundred percent on the money. He is correct on his comparison. He at no time said America was the Promised Land. He said that America is the story of Humanity. Then this Liberal said this. THIS is one of the things that Liberals fear most.

Warning that Americans were at a crossroad and had to decide what they believed, Beck said, "Abraham Lincoln found God in the stars of Gettysburg. He was baptized and gave the second inaugural. He looked to God and set men free. America awakened again."

He soon segued to Moses.

"Moses freed them. Then they forget. They wander until they remember that God is the answer. He always has been. And then they begin to trust," said Beck.

"Have trust in the Lord. And recognize that Moses and Abraham Lincoln and George Washington were men. They were just like you...Man makes a difference. What is it that these men have that you don't?...The answer is nothing...They relied on God...America is great because America is good...We as individuals must be good so America can be great. America is at a crossroads...Look to God," pled the TV talk-show host.
Liberals HATE God. That means that A - there is something bigger than them. B- there are truly consequences for actions. THEY want to be the final authority in all things. They can't be, if there is a God.

Then he illustrates another thing Liberals HATE. The Military. The fact that we are here, Free, and that Freedom comes with a price.

Mixing Christian faith with military images, the rally included video clips of soldiers, flags and eagles. The Bible was also read.
Yup. Men and Women have paid the ultimate price for this Freedom. They will still defend it today, because it is WORTH defending. Even if those that are receiving the benefit do not understand it, nor appreciate it.

C. L. Jackson, pastor of Houston's Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, prayed for the "ministry of Glenn Beck."
Wait a Black guy? Quick, say that doesn't matter. Look, look. Nothing but White people.

The crowd - as viewed on Beck's own streaming video broadcast - had very, very few people of color.

The white audience listened at one point as two African-American men read different passages from the Bible and two Africa-American women sang solos with recorded tracks.

Another African-American woman, Alveda King, a niece of Martin Luther King Jr., gave a sermon, referencing "Uncle Martin," failing public education, the "womb war" and hope that prayer would one day be welcomed back in public schools.
{Laughing} Nothing but White Racists, uh, listening to Black people over and over again. Must have been rough for them. Then Dr. Alveda King? She decided that THIS Rally was more important than the one for her Uncle MLK Jr. over there hosted by Rev. Sharpton? These White Racists must have hated that even more. {Smile}

Truth is, there were people from EVERY walk of life. Every Color, Faith, "Class," every where. But I know, I know, that doesn't fit the narrative.

No amount of Bible reading, sermons masquerading as prayers and Christian hymns can cover up Beck's civil religion that slides back and forth between the Bible and nationalism, between authentic faith and patriotic religion.

He treats the "American scripture" - such as the Gettysburg Address - as if it bears the same revelatory weight as Christian Scripture.
One of the problems that we have now. We have forgotten, or most, do not even KNOW what the Gettysburg Address, Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the REAL American Ideal is all about. They do not even know what they say. That is one of Beck's points.

Then this guy, decides as Liberals do, that he knows better what is in Glenn's heart and mind than Glenn does.

What is important to Beck is belief in God - God generically - not a specific understanding of God revealed in the biblical witness, but God who appears in nature and from which one draws universal truths.
Then he repeats Liberal talking points in reference to the Bible. None of it true. Not the way Liberals want you to believe. He says Beck and implies, anyone that believes as Beck, do not listen to the Bible when it talks about "the practice of social justice, the pursuit of peacemaking, the protection of the poor in the formation of community." Sorry, but this is some of the things that most "religious" Liberals, or better yet, those that seek to manipulate the Faithful with the Bible, use to promote Liberal agendas. Problem is, they are not correct in their, uh, shall we say interpretation? Just not.

Now all through this, I have been pointing out what Liberals HATE. Substitute the word HATE, for the word FEAR. You can always know what Liberals FEAR, because that is that of which they attack.

America IS starting to wake up. The Obama Regime is not going to have a good November. The Liberals have governed AGAINST the Will of the PEOPLE for way too long. The PEOPLE are tired of it. We have tried it the Liberal Way, time to get back to basics.
