Forecasters Can't Predict?

"Then how are we suppose to accept the fact they can tell us how the temperatures and weather will be 10 to 20 years from now? Like you say Pete, it's all just silly."

Hey folks,

Happy Friday to ya. Glad you stopped by. Yes, I'm feeling much better and still trying to get back to normal. BG has a GREAT point here. It's what I've been telling you for years. Forget the Hurricane stuff, the Weather People can't tell you without doubt if it will Rain Today or not. Do not get me wrong, I LOVE people like Kait Parker from WPTV. {Smile} I have nothing against Weather People. But it is all commonsense.

EVERY year, for whatever reason, the Weather People come out of the Woodwork. It's going to be an "Over Active Hurricane Season" this year like we have never seen before. Between 1 and 20 major storms. Between 1 and 10 named Hurricanes. Between 1 and 5 will hit land. ETC. EVERY year, they revise it multiple times.

Now do not misunderstand me. If one is coming, I encourage you to tune in everyday and watch the Tracking. If you are in the Track, GET OUT OF IT. One is all it takes to kill, destroy, and wreak havoc on a lot of people's lives. But to take the early Forecasts to heart IS just Silly.

I think what is amazing to BG and others that saw this, is that the Media is actually telling the truth. These two guys should be commended. What BG is talking about is this. It's from The OttawaCitizen - Hurricane predictors admit they can’t predict hurricanes December forecasts are too unreliable, experts say By Tom Spears December 12, 2011

Two top U.S. hurricane forecasters, revered like rock stars in Deep South hurricane country, are quitting the practice because it doesn’t work.

William Gray and Phil Klotzbach say a look back shows their past 20 years of forecasts had no value.

The two scientists from Colorado State University will still discuss different probabilities as hurricane seasons approach — a much more cautious approach. But the shift signals how far humans are, even with supercomputers, from truly knowing what our weather will do next.
EXACTLY. We get Big Storms. We get little Storms. We get active Seasons, inactive Seasons. We get Damaging Storms, and YEARS pass without one touching Land. It's Mother Nature, if you will. It Natural Cycles.

Gray, recently joined by Klotzbach, has been known for decades for an annual forecast of how many hurricanes can be expected each official hurricane season (which runs from June to November.) Southerners hang on his words, as even a mid-sized hurricane can cause billions in damage.

Last week, the pair dropped this announcement out of a clear, blue sky:

“We are discontinuing our early December quantitative hurricane forecast for the next year ... Our early December Atlantic basin seasonal hurricane forecasts of the last 20 years have not shown real-time forecast skill even though the hindcast studies on which they were based had considerable skill.”
So again they can and should be commended. They are telling you the TRUTH. Even if they SAY in December, NO Storms, ONE is all it takes. People get relaxed and BANG. If they say 20? Then NOTHING? Like I said, if one is out there, we can see it. If it comes our way, we will know in advance, about 48 to 24 hours, within reason, where it may go. But to say how many and how bad before the First one starts, is simply GUESSING. They either create unnecessary panic, or unreasonable assurances.

But I think BG is talking about Global Warming. Of course. If we can not accept what they tell us the Weather will be like next week, how do they justify telling us that the World will turn into a big ball of Fire in 20 years. Haven't they already told us this? We have 20 years, like 30 years ago? We have 10 like 20 years ago? Seas will rise? We are in a cooling Cycle. We have been since 98. So we are not even WARMING any more, hence the Name Change. But, you know, the Religion of GW still has it's Followers.

Fear IS The Factor

Which is the whole point behind Global Warming.

Hey folks,

First, a quick update. Yes I have severe Bronchitis again. Just came from the Doctors Yesterday for a follow up and not getting better. Shot in the Arm, and the Bottom, an Inhaler, and a new set of Meds. If this round, Round two, doesn't knock it out, I may have to see Hospital Help. Thank you for all the Warm Thoughts, well wishes, and Prayers. They really mean a lot. Been my experience that a Hospital is no place to get better, so I'm working hard at showing signs of improvement by Wednesday this Week. Thank you to all my Facebook Friends as well.

I'll tell ya one thing, being sick DOES afford me some time to catch up on Emails, catch up with some of you, Surf and Scan the News, and take some real time to see what is happening in the World. I also have some extra time to catch up on some TV. Not sleeping at night, you find some pretty interesting stuff.

One of the things I watched yesterday was Conspiracy TheoryW/ Jesse Ventura: Global Warming Now you all know Jesse Ventura. Some of you from the old WWF days. Some of you from him being the Governor of Minnesota. Some of you from the ill fated XFL. But you all know him. He is a FRIEND of Al Gore. He was a BELIEVER in Man-Made Global Warming. So for him to take this on was interesting to me. Now it was done back in 2009. Even the more reason to watch it today. All the information we have now? It really helps to put things in prospective. What did he find? It's a SCAM. It's all about Power, Control, and Money. Where have you heard that before?

Fear IS the factor. FEAR is the whole point behind Global Warming. Remember the Psychology of Brain Washing you into thinking "Green"

There's little research on how to lower people's energy use, but early evidence suggests that many people will change if:

• They think others similar to themselves are jumping on the "green" bandwagon.

• They get frequent positive feedback for effort.

• They feel able to make a difference by taking concrete steps.

• They think their children will be harmed by global warming, or children encourage the family to lead a greener life. {AKA Polar Bears}

They are telling you what they are doing.

This is the very definition of Scaryence. Scare Science. "Don't forget, if all else fails, the KIDS. Bring up the kids."
As the Documentary Conspiracy TheoryW/ Jesse Ventura: Global Warming pointed out, since those getting fleeced get nothing from it, convince them they are saving the Planet. But as they pointed out as well, is the same thing I have been telling you for years. It's all about Power, Control, every aspect of your Private Lives, to of course, all that Money.

So now, in 2011, with more and more Scientists, including some of Al Gore's own, coming out and saying that it's a Hoax, A SCAM, and with all the evidence of them cooking the Books, more and more people are just not buying it. But this is not stopping them from using the Fear Factor. From attempting to turn it into a Religion This way they can tell you how Evil you are and how they must protect the Planet From YOU. So this, they feel, gives them cart blanch authority to attack those that are not following their agenda, and rewarding those who are. Hence Obama's de facto Moratorium, delaying the Keystone Pipeline, bankrupting the Coal Industry. ETC.

So a friend of mine sent this in to me. It's by Kevin Moody. Published: Thursday, December 08, 2011, 5:05 AM over at PennLive.com - Fear factors shouldn't direct our nation's energy policies

Pennsylvania is fortunate to be in the center of a challenging debate over energy, with coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear and renewable sources such as wind power all having a “home” here. The Marcellus Shale has put that much more of a spotlight on the state, and its early production rate shows a long-term and huge potential for natural gas from this formation.

While all this activity is happening here, we also should look at the broader concern: that our nation’s energy policy sorely needs to move in a new direction. Reliable, affordable energy supplies are essential to a viable economy. New jobs are created when energy resources are explored and developed. Other benefits accrue to communities. Given the state of the nation, one would think that lawmakers, regulators and leaders in Washington would get it.
The Numbers do not lie. Hundreds of Thousands of new Jobs, Billions in NEW Revenue to States and Federal Government Streams, lower Energy Costs for all.

Instead, in the last three years, the Obama administration has done its best to block the development of new domestic oil and natural gas supplies. It has refused to allow drilling along the East Coast and on other energy-rich federal lands.

Now, to make energy matters worse, the president has delayed until after the 2012 elections a decision on allowing construction of the Keystone XL pipeline between Canada and the U.S., threatening the creation of about 20,000 jobs and preventing the flow of an additional 830,000 barrels of Canadian oil to U.S. refineries on the Gulf Coast. The delay has prompted Canadian officials to step up efforts to sell oil to other energy-hungry customers, including China.
Which even some on Obama's own side say is COMPLETELY POLITICAL and unnecessary.

Although the president’s anti-oil and natural gas actions might sound fine to his political base prior to 2012, they put the nation’s economic and energy health at risk. By limiting domestic energy production, America will not experience the economic boost, jobs and tax revenues offered by increased domestic oil and natural gas production.

These considerations, however, are not the focus of today’s energy policy debate. They have been supplanted by a campaign of fear of air pollution, fear of water contamination, fear of health effects and other often unsubstantiated worries that have been become part and parcel of the energy conversation
AKA Global Warming. Uh, We're not warming... Uh, Climate Change. Yeah. That's it.

The fears are fed by the scare tactics that have become a staple in political and public interest campaigns. Even the president has used fear as a means to avoid making tough decisions that could improve U.S. energy security. His statement explaining the Keystone pipeline delay cited concerns over “the health and safety of the American people as well as the environment,” even though the $13 billion pipeline project has been studied for three years and cleared by two environmental impact statements.
Yet? Wind Farms? Kill the Damn Birds.

Similarly, anti-drilling groups use fear-mongering as a weapon against hydraulic fracturing in Pennsylvania. They assert that hydraulic fracturing will poison our drinking water and harm human health. In one recent demonstration, protesters donned cow costumes and claimed that the fracturing process would poison milk supplies at schools.

As long as unfounded and irrational fears overshadow the facts, elected officials will find it difficult to make sound energy policy decisions. They know that misled and frightened voters aren’t going to focus on the benefits of oil and natural gas production, even when it helps their unemployed neighbors find jobs.

According to the state Department of Labor and Industry, an estimated 214,000 Marcellus Shale-related jobs have been created in the commonwealth since 2008. Elected officials seem to find it expedient to throw taxpayer money at so-called green energy companies even if the projects aren’t commercially viable. There’s no doubt that the fears ginned up against traditional fuels paved the way for the administration’s $535 billion investment in Solyndra.

There are times when fear is a positive force. It reminds us to buckle our seat belts, blow out candles to prevent fires and teach our children to look both ways before crossing the street. But it should not be used as the basis for key policy decisions that could frame our economic and energy future.
Just like many other things we have talked about here, Kevin, oh, by the way, Kevin Moody is Vice President and General Counsel for the Pennsylvania Independent Oil & Gas Association. So another guy that KNOWS what he is talking about. Not some "Government Expert" but someone in the Business, that KNOWS the Business. But just like the many things that we have talked about over the years, FEAR is a powerful tool for those who know how to use it. But Fear is NOT what we need. What we need are REAL Solutions to the REAL Problems that we face. The answer is not hard to understand. It's right in front of our Faces. Fear not, that which is not real.

New "Gore" School Poster Child For Pollution

Hazardous to your kids Mental, and Physical Health.

Hey folks,

Happy Hump Day! Sorry, I have to postpone answering another question that is being posed to me. I planned on it today, but I will have to wait on that. Someone may answer it for me in the next couple of days. I will explain more in a day or so.

But I did come across this. THIS is too funny. You all know about the phenomenon of Snowstorms that plague Al Gore's Speaking trips on "Global Warming." He has been snowed out enough times that one could wonder if someone was trying to tell him and those that blindly follow him, that what he is saying is complete BS, and he need not continue.

But NOW? The Liberals in the Public {Government Run Indoctrination Centers} Education field attempted to name a School after Al Gore. The Father of the Church of Man-Made Global Warming. They ACTUALLY come right out and say that it is based on his Movie "An Inconvenient Truth." {Laughing}

"An Inconvenient Truth." Yeah, you know, the movie that the "Experts" including some of the Scientists he USED in the Movie, came out and said that it was nothing but Bunk? Something like 27 different incorrect bits of information that Gore attempted to pass off as Scientific Fact. Hell, he used clips from a Sci -Fi Movie {Day After Tomorrow} in his Movie. No one takes this seriously anymore. The SCAM that is Man-Made Global Warming is all but dead. Oh of course there are some trying to revive it. There is a lot of money to be made. But there is no THREAT to Mankind.

However, that can NOT be said about the $75.5 Million Carson-Gore Academy of Environmental Sciences that will open Sept. 13 for about 675 students. Gore's name follows another Environut Rachel Carson, who was an Author some credit with helping launch the modern Environmental SCAM Movement.

Yes, the Carson-Gore Academy sounds lovely. Indoc,,,uh, teaching young, ignorant, heads full of putty, Students, about the dangers of man, and the beauty of nature. Teaching them that they should live in tents, and allow those that tell them what to do to collect THEIR money, live in Mansions and fly around the world to tell everyone how evil they are. Yes, maybe this school will educate more people like James Lee, who wants man to stop reproducing because we are killing the Planet. They even want a Garden. A happy little Garden and that could produce a Student Farmer's Market.

So what could possibly be the problem? Critics say that the Carson-Gore Academy of Environmental Sciences location poses a long term Health risk to Students and Staff. It's CONTAMINATED!! They even admit this. Yet they say it's safe. You have to read this.

Construction crews were working at the campus up to the Labor Day weekend, replacing toxic soil with clean fill. All told, workers removed dirt from two 3,800-square-foot plots to a depth of 45 feet, space enough to hold a four-story building. The soil had contained more than a dozen underground storage tanks serving light industrial businesses.

Additional contamination may have come from the underground tanks of an adjacent gas station. A barrier will stretch 45 feet down from ground level to limit future possible fuel leakage.

An oil well operates across the street, but officials said they've found no associated risks. Like many local campuses, this school also sits above an oil field, but no oil field-related methane has been detected.

Groundwater about 45 feet below the surface remains contaminated but also poses no risk, officials said.

Because the district imported clean dirt, the school is probably safe at the moment, said Jane Williams, executive director of the Kern County-based California Communities Against Toxics. But she and other critics, including Robina Suwol, who heads the locally based California Safe Schools coalition, worry that the pollution sources have not been adequately identified and that the dirty groundwater could recontaminate the soil.
{Laughing} Yeah it's contaminated, but no problem. Even the Evironuts are not happy with this.

"Renaming this terribly contaminated school after famous environmental advocates is an affront to the great work that these individuals have done to protect the public's health from harm," an environmental coalition wrote in a letter to the Los Angeles Unified School District. Making sure the school is safe "would be an even better way to honor their contribution to society."
As for that wonderful Student Farmer's Market? Robina Suwol, who heads the locally based California Safe Schools Coalition, said this.

Suwol said Lowry sounds "incredibly wonderful," but added that she'd feel better if the vegetables were grown in planters above the ground.
Folks, I would not send my kids to this place to begin with. Not even to show them the sheer stupidity, and lunacy, of the whole GWBS. But if I were you, and even if I bought into the whole GWBS, commonsense SHOULD tell you to keep your kids away from a School that officials TELL YOU is contaminated, yet "safe." You kind of have to feel bad for poor old Al. The guy just can't catch a break. {Smile}

Have a great days folks. See you soon.

New Low For Obama, A Logical Educator

Only 25 percent of you Strongly Approve of Obama.

Hey folks,

That's right, things are not going well for Obama.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 25% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-six percent (46%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -21 (see trends).
Things are so bad right now, even the Liberal Media are starting to question Obama's Leadership. This Oil Spill is pitting one group of LWL against another. The Environuts are getting angry with Obama because he doesn't seem to be all that concerned with bringing it to an end anytime soon.

Then you have the EXTREME Loons on the Left that do not feel he is Looney enough. Not working fast enough to bring about a Socialistic Society. Then there are those that WANT more Socialism, yet are not insane totally. They think He has gone too far already. Then you have the Republicans and Conservatives that do not like ANYTHING he is doing. Then you have EVERYONE with an once of intelligence that are upset with his out of control, never ending spending.

Basically, the only people that still Strongly Approve are those making $20,000 or less per year. Those that are getting a free ride. This is why some feel Obama is doing all this intentionally. The numbers just do not win elections right now. So? The more people losing their homes, the more people losing their jobs, the more people there are that must rely on Government for their daily lives. More Votes. Get the point?

OK, so coming right up today.

School Authority Trumps Parents?
Lefties Mad Adult Took Charge
Consumer Alert: Food Recall
DLA For Sunday 062010
IWA For Sunday 062010

Before we get to all that, I want to talk about Mark Feldhausen, Associate Superintendent for Educational Services, Millard Public Schools. This guy was going to be the Winner of the Display of Logic Award this week, but there were so many to chose from, well, when we get there I think you will agree with those who beat him out. But I do want to talk about this guy.

Here is a guy that has made the decision to NOT use a new Text Book because it is filled with false information. It is WRONG. Yet, some want the School System to use it anyway. Even those in charge of the Book say it's wrong, and they will make the changes in the new ones, yet, use these for now. What? That's like saying I understand that the new book I have issued says 2+2=5. I will issuing the correction 2+2=4 next year, meanwhile though, just use this one. How insane is that?

Well the issue is Global Warming. Yup. A Global Warming Textbook that is incorrect. Go figure. {Laughing}
A review committee, convened after parents complained, concluded that author Laurie David's book, "The Down-to-Earth Guide to Global Warming," contained "a major factual error" in a graphic about rising temperatures and carbon dioxide levels.
Yeah like we haven't risen in temperatures since about 98? Or the fact that Carbon Dioxide is not a pollutant. But I digress. The Chicken Little Crowd is not happy with this. Talk about another dwindling group.

Together with this Corrected book, there is a Video. The Video, also wrong, will NOT continue to be used.
Corrected versions will continue to be used in Millard's sixth-grade language arts curriculum, he wrote.

However, the district will cease to use a companion video about global warming, narrated by actor Leonardo DiCaprio, he wrote.

The committee found the video "without merit" and recommended that it not be used.

Robyn Terry, the congressman's wife, had described the video as a "political commercial."
The whole Global Warming Bunk is Political. It is all a SCAM. It is all complete BS. This is why Obama and Crew are now using the Deep Horizon Drilling accident to push Cap and Tax. No one, in any significant numbers, believe in Man-Made Global Warming any more. The Majority of you understand it's a complete SCAM.

So the School System, which does want to keep receiving Federal Funds from an Administration that is PUSHING Global Warming, needs to walk a fine line. So Mark Feldhausen issued this statement.
In the letter to parents, Feldhausen said the committee recognized there are "multiple viewpoints" on global warming. The committee recommended that all teachers using the book "make students aware of both sides of the global warming theory," he said.
I hope so. I guess that would mean that the Teachers will have to teach the lie, then teach that others say it is a lie? Should be interesting to see how this one plays out.

Snow in Rome?

Snow EVERYWHERE.

Hey folks,

I was just going to mention this is passing during the Sunday Preview, but then I started seeing that it is not just Rome, it's snow EVERYWHERE, even right here in Sunny Florida. And what are we told by the Chicken Little Crowd? "Oh, we are having all this snow BECAUSE of Global Warming. {Sigh}

First we are told No Snow = Global Warming. All during pretty light season, Global WARMING!!! Proof!! You see?

Sen Byrd in 2002? "We need a climate change strategy badly. Look at the kind of winter we've had here in Washington. One snow, three inches? I don't need a scientist to tell me that. We had better do something about it."

Sen. Feinstien in 2005? "The Sierra Nevada snow pack is the largest source of water. The snow pack equals about half the storage capacity of all of California's man-made reservoirs. By the end of the century, the shrinking of the snow pack will eliminate the water source for 16 million people."

Sen. Boxer in 2007? "The most optimistic climate models for the second half of this century suggest that 30 to 70% of the snow pack will disappear. Now, no wonder we have people visiting our offices who are just already hurting from the recreation industry in this nation. They see what's happening. They see the handwriting on the wall. We have to act."

She also said this. "The potential consequences will be devastating for our families in the future and for the world. Now we're seeing the early warning signs. People can come down to this floor and say whatever they want. We've seen melting of snow, we have seen melting of permafrost, increased temperatures, warming of lakes, rivers, oceans, changes in the seasons."

Then in 2009, Boxer said this. "Looking at the United States of America, the IPCC clearly warned that unchecked global warming will lead to reduced snow pack in the western mountains, critically reducing access to water, which is our lifeblood."

So all this "The Sky is falling" and the melting Snow is inarguable proof that Global Warming exists, we going into 2010 winter season. RECORD SNOWFALL All over the place. There is SNOW in EVERY State in our Union. There is Snow in Rome. According to Reuters - Rare snowfall in Rome as cold snap grips Italy

ROME (Reuters) – Tourists took rare pictures of snow falling on the Colosseum and the Trevi fountain on Friday, and the Pope reportedly appeared at a Vatican window to watch Rome's heaviest snowfall in nearly a quarter century.

In scenes usually only glimpsed in souvenir "snow domes" Italy's capital was blanketed in white, snarling road and air traffic but delighting many Romans who rode scooters with their feet on the ground and snapped pictures with mobile phones.

Rome was last dusted in snow in 2005, but one meteorologist said the steady snowfall through Friday morning was the heaviest seen in the Italian capital in 24 years.

According to News On 6 - OU Student Collecting Pictures of Snow in All 50 States

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- A University of Oklahoma student is taking an extra interest in this week's snow storms in the south and northeast and is working to document the events in a very unique way.

Patrick Marsh said it's likely by the end of the week snow will be on the ground in all 50 states.

From Ardmore all the way to Dallas and even in Louisiana, the south is snowed in. For many, it's a winter wonderland in places that rarely see such weather. But none of it comes close to the mess up north where two blizzards have blown through in a week.

We just got some snow up in Northern Sunny Florida. Snowing all over the place. So this PROVES Global Warming is Bunk, right? WRONG. All this snow is CAUSED by Global Warming. {Laughing} I know it's just completely idiotic. But the WHOLE thing is idiotic. So how is this? Well, the SCAMMERS say that higher temperatures causes more water evaporation, which increases the chances of heavy precipitation events, such as floods and snowstorms. Of course the IPCC is chiming in, even though NOTHING they say can be believed. Globally, precipitation has increased in regions over 30 degrees north according to the Inventive Panel on Coning Chumps, uh AKA, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, but has been declining in tropical regions since the 70s.

OK. I guess it's settled. No snow, Global Warming. Record Snow, Global Warming. No storms, Global Warming. Increased storms, Global Warming. Rain fall? Global Warming. Dry seasons? Global Warming. The Temperatures getting cooler? Global Warming, Global Warming, Global Warming! Just except it already Damn it! {Sigh}

No thank you.

GWBS Just Silly

Man-Made Climate Change is a joke. A poor one at that.

Hey folks,

This whole thing has just become silly. Seriously. Everyday something new comes out about this SCAM. At this point, the IPCC is nothing more than a Saturday Night Live skit. I can see it now.

"We have released our new report to say that the World is at great risk. Evil people from America, uh, we mean, uh, everywhere, is destroying the planet. CO2 is kill us all. But it is not to late. If America, uh, everyone, does exactly what we say, and give their money away to us, we can save the planet."

OK. What about the fact that we learned all these Emails of the Leaders of the Chicken Little Crowds have been LYING. That they have been telling each other to cover up and hide the fact we are actually Cooling?

"Well, forget that. Means nothing. Why do you think we changed it to Climate Change instead of Global Warming?"

What about the fact we learned that all those measuring posts have been MOVED? To make it appear that we are still warming and the ice is still melting.

"Uh, never mind that. Uh, just accept what we are telling you."

OK. what about the fact that Himalayan Glacier Melt is bogus? It was based on an old study that had never been peer-reviewed or even published, which was based entirely on the speculation of a single Indian Scientist who now works at the Environmental group run by the head of the IPCC, Economist Rajendra Pachauri?

"Never mind that either. Uh, you can not disregard the whole report on just a few minor irregularities."

A few? 16 of your "Facts" have been proven to come from Envionut Groups, NOT real Scientists, and they are FALSE. Not to mention there is NO real science backing ANYTHING?

"Shut up. Just believe what we tell you. We will make you. This new Government of yours is on our side and they are working on creating laws that will FORCE you to just do whatever we say, as long as we say it's for the good of the planet."

Remember just as they we going into Copenhagen, some were saying we only had 10 months to halt "Climate Change." I actually think that they called it Global Warming. So what did they achieve at Copenhagen? A signed agreement to talk more about it in 12. {Laughing} Not to mention a "Carbon Footprint" in the 12-day conference created 40,584 tons of CO2 equivalents. The same amount as the Carbon Emissions of Morocco in 2006.

Ten years, Twenty, oh, uh, in another Twenty, uh by 2050, uh? It's all BOGUS. Snowmageddon is happening as we speak. Global Warming? Here is just SOME of what has come out this week. Times Online - UN climate panel shamed by bogus rainforest claim by Jonathan Leake

A STARTLING report by the United Nations climate watchdog that global warming might wipe out 40% of the Amazon rainforest was based on an unsubstantiated claim by green campaigners who had little scientific expertise.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said in its 2007 benchmark report that even a slight change in rainfall could see swathes of the rainforest rapidly replaced by savanna grassland.

The source for its claim was a report from WWF, an environmental pressure group, which was authored by two green activists. They had based their “research” on a study published in Nature, the science journal, which did not assess rainfall but in fact looked at the impact on the forest of human activity such as logging and burning. This weekend WWF said it was launching an internal inquiry into the study.

This is the third time in as many weeks that serious doubts have been raised over the IPCC’s conclusions on climate change. Two weeks ago, after reports in The Sunday Times, it was forced to retract a warning that climate change was likely to melt the Himalayan glaciers by 2035. That warning was also based on claims in a WWF report.

The IPCC has been put on the defensive as well over its claims that climate change may be increasing the severity and frequency of natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods.

Where are they?

This weekend Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the IPCC, was fighting to keep his job after a barrage of criticism.

Scientists fear the controversies will be used by climate change sceptics to sway public opinion to ignore global warming — even though the fundamental science, that greenhouse gases can heat the world, remains strong.

{Sigh} It's ALL BS. This is pathetic "fundamental science, that greenhouse gases can heat the world, remains strong."Notice it does not say the world IS. It says the theory of "green House Gases to have the ability to heat the globe, is fundamental. That is like me saying, Science says that the Volcano, if it erupts, can and WILL destroy everything in it's path. So give me money so I can figure out a way to prevent that. The Science is strong, but the Volcano is NOT erupting, nor is it going to any time soon. Kind of like old tribes of people sacrificing to the Volcano gods. Right? Is that what we should be doing now with the GW gods?

The latest controversy originates in a report called A Global Review of Forest Fires, which WWF published in 2000. It was commissioned from Andrew Rowell, a freelance journalist and green campaigner who has worked for Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and anti-smoking organisations. The second author was Peter Moore, a campaigner and policy analyst with WWF.

In their report they suggested that “up to 40% of Brazilian rainforest was extremely sensitive to small reductions in the amount of rainfall” but made clear that this was because drier forests were more likely to catch fire.

The IPCC report picked up this reference but expanded it to cover the whole Amazon. It also suggested that a slight reduction in rainfall would kill many trees directly, not just by contributing to more fires.

It said: “Up to 40% of the Amazonian forests could react drastically to even a slight reduction in precipitation; this means that the tropical vegetation, hydrology and climate system in South America could change very rapidly to another steady state. It is more probable that forests will be replaced by ecosystems that have more resistance to multiple stresses caused by temperature increase, droughts and fires, such as tropical savannas.”

Simon Lewis, a Royal Society research fellow at Leeds University who specialises in tropical forest ecology, described the section of Rowell and Moore’s report predicting the potential destruction of large swathes of rainforest as “a mess”.

“The Nature paper is about the interactions of logging damage, fire and periodic droughts, all extremely important in understanding the vulnerability of Amazon forest to drought, but is not related to the vulnerability of these forests to reductions in rainfall,” he said.

“In my opinion the Rowell and Moore report should not have been cited; it contains no primary research data.”

WWF said it prided itself on the accuracy of its reports and was investigating the latest concerns. “We have a team of people looking at this internationally,” said Keith Allott, its climate change campaigner.

Scientists such as Lewis are demanding that the IPCC ban the use of reports from pressure groups. They fear that environmental campaign groups are bound to cherry-pick the scientific literature that confirms their beliefs and ignore the rest.

{Laughing} You think?

It was exactly this process that lay behind the bogus claim that the Himalayan glaciers were likely to melt by 2035 — a suggestion that got into another WWF report and was then used by the IPCC.

Georg Kaser, a glaciologist who was a lead author on the last IPCC report, said: “Groups like WWF are not scientists and they are not professionally trained to manage data. They may have good intentions but it opens the way to mistakes.”

No. They purposely LIE to further their agendas.

Then this. Check this out. Activist-scientists cooked the books to foster alarm Lorne Gunter, Edmonton Journal Published: Sunday, January 31, 2010

I can't recall the wheels coming off the bus of any expert-driven hysteria as fast or as completely as they are now coming off the global-warming scare.

I suppose they must have came off faster from Y2K. At 12:00:01 AM on Jan. 1, 2000, when airliners didn't fall from the sky and power plants didn't shut down spontaneously or computers didn't freeze up all over the world, the air came out of the Y2K scare instantly. Billions had been spent on preventing that disaster-that-never-was up until midnight on the final day of 1999, then almost not a penny afterwards.

That is faster than the wheels are coming off the climate-change bus. But AGW -- anthropogenic global warming -- is a very close second.

News of the manipulations, distortions and frauds perpetrated to advance and preserve the environmentalists' cause celebre are so numerous and coming so fast, it's hard to keep up.

First, of course, there were the e-mails and computer files leaked from Britain's Climate Research Unit (CRU) -one of a handful of climate-research centres around the world that are the pillars of the United Nations' claims about impending climate doom. The CRU leaks showed many of the world's leading climate scientists discussing how they could torque their research to show more recent warming than there has been, conceal their "tricks" from other scientists and government investigators, and pressure scientific journals not to publish reports by dissenting scientists.

Then a couple of weeks ago came the news that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the UN's climate-change arm, had based its most recent findings on Himalayan glacier melt on an old study that had never been peer-reviewed or even published and which was based entirely on the speculation (not research) of a single Indian scientist who now works at the environmental think-tank run by the head of the IPCC, economist Rajendra Pachauri.

This by itself wouldn't be devastating, except that the scientist in charge of the glacier chapter of the IPCC's latest assessment report (AR4) admitted he had known the melt estimate was wrong but had included it anyway because "we thought that if we can highlight it, it will impact policy-makers and politicians and encourage them to take some concrete action."

He just admitted it folks. It's not true, yet we put it in there to SCARE people. Scaryence. Not Science.

That's not climate science, it's environmental activism, pure and simple -- using misleading figures to whip up alarm and bring about political action.

Another revelation of malfeasance this week was the discovery that the chapter on Amazon rainforests in the IPCC's AR4, the one that included the often-repeated claim that 40 per cent of the forest is under imminent threat from climate change, was written not by climate scientists but by an policy analyst who works for environmental groups and a freelance environmental author. Like the glacier chapter, it was written not to present the latest dispassionate scientific data, but to present a propaganda case that would produce the policy outcome the UN and the IPCC want. It confirmed that the UN is a player for one side in the climate debate, not the source for object facts.

In all, so far, at least 16 major claims made in AR4 (the report for which the IPCC won a Nobel Prize) have been shown to have originated with environmental groups rather than scientists, including the claim that climate change is already making tornado, hurricanes, forest fires and floods worse.

This week, we also learned that NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) may have been playing fast and loose with its own calculations of global average temperature. Among the four main repositories of global temperature records, GISS is the only one to show the Earth still warming during the past decade. Now two American climate researchers -- Joseph D'Aleo and Anthony Watts -- believe they know why: Scientists at GISS may have been cherry-picking the weather stations they take their records from to increase global averages artificially.

The pair write that there was a "major" decline in the number of stations GISS scientists were taking readings from "and an increase in missing data from remaining stations, which occurred suddenly around 1990 ... a clear bias was found toward removing higher elevation, higher latitude, and rural stations -- the cooler stations -- during this culling process." The pre-1990 temperature records, though, continued to include these cooler stations. These changes tended to make temperatures before 1990 appear extra-cool and those after 1990 extra-warm.

This probably shouldn't surprise -- GISS is run by James Hansen, the scientist who first set off the global-warming scare in 1988 and who is an adviser to former U.S. vice-president Al Gore.

Hansen has testified in court on behalf of eco-vandals charged with damaging a British power plant, insisting they are guilty of no crime because they were acting in defence of humanity and he has called coal trains "death trains" and coal-fired power plants "factories of death."

Again, those are the words of an activist, not a scientist.

Does all this prove global warming is a hoax?

I believe it does.

But at the least, it shows the science is far from settled.

It IS a Hoax. Nothing more and nothing less. A giant SCAM. Be right back with Part Two.
