Pink Slime Update, Plants Close, Company Blames YOU

Really need a theme song for this Segment.

Hey folks,

Time for what is growing into a regular Segment here at the OPNTalk Blog. Pink Slime Update. I knew when I first started looking into this it would be big. I had no idea HOW big it would become. I originally thought it was McDonald's only, well, Fast Food in General all do about the same things, so others would not surprise me. But then we learned it's in our Schools and in our Stores. There is a chance you may have it in your FRIG. You may have bought what you were lead to believe is "healthier" ground Beef, only to learn that "lean, finely textured beef," is nothing more than a code word for Pink Slime. The same process they use to make Dog Food.

So you spoke up. Some of you YELLED. Last Sunday I reported to you that Stores All Over Country Pulling Pink Slime. They have stopped selling it all together. Except Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. This is why I will shop elsewhere.

So what happens when you have a Company, that has LIED to people over the years, HID what they are actually doing, and people find out? What do you do if you have a Company that makes a Product that no one buys? Yup. You go bye, bye.

So "Beef Products Inc.," the maker of Pink Slime, and Regina Roth, the VP of the Company, are closing Planets, laying off workers, and blaming YOU! {Laughing} I kid you not. Remember Ms. Riley? She was the one back on Sunday, March 18, 2012 OPNTalk -
Pink Slime WAS Dog Food who, when asked why not Label Packages to let people know they were eating Pink Slime, said...

"What are you asking me to put on the label, its beef, it's on the label, it's a beef product, it's says beef so we are declaring … it's beef,"
Well, Ms Roth just repeated the line. She said..

"What should we label it? It's 100 percent beef What do you want us to label it? I'm not prepared to say it's not beef because it's 100 percent beef."
NO it's not Ms Roth. It's GARBAGE. It's filler to extend Profit. It is NOT Beef. But we know this now, so I doubt you need worry about it. No one is buying it anyway.

So according to ABC News - 'It's 100 Percent Beef': Company on Defensive as It Closes Plants By Jim Avila ABC News – 5 hrs ago

After two weeks of no comments, Beef Products Inc., the maker of "lean, finely textured beef," a product now known by the critics' term for it, "pink slime," came out swinging today during a news conference to announce the temporary closing of several facilities.

The company said that it was suspending all operations at three of its four plants in Texas, Kansas and Iowa. Its headquarters in Sioux City, S.D., would remain.

It said today that it would continue to pay its workers for 60 days as it launches a public relations program designed to restore confidence in its product.

"After that 60-day period is over, if we haven't been able to resume operations again by then, we believe we won't have a decision other than to formally terminate those employees' employment," said Rich Jochum, the company's corporate administrator.
{Laughing} So we are going to LIE to you some more over the next 60 days and hope you buy our Product. If you don't YOU are responsible for all these people losing their Jobs. YOU are responsible for this.

The company blamed social media and news organizations, specifically ABC News, for what it called a gross misrepresentation of its product and process.

"What should we label it? It's 100 percent beef," asked Regina Roth, the company's executive vice president. "What do you want us to label it? I'm not prepared to say it's not beef because it's 100 percent beef."

She said that the company would "attack" the misconceptions in consumers' minds through social media.

"What we're going through is not something any other companies want to … have to endure," Roth said.
Good lick with this. The Stores are not going to buy it. We are not going to buy it. YOU lied to people for years, "90 percent Lean?" uh, Pink Slime. Healthier, less fat, MORE EXPENSIVE for less REAL Meat. No Ms Roth, YOU are to blame. And as much as you say it's One hundred percent beef, others disagree.

Two former scientists with the U.S. Department of Agriculture who reviewed the product advised against using it in ground beef and told ABC News that it was not the same as ground beef.

"It's not fresh ground beef. It's a cheap substitute being added in," microbiologist Gerald Zirnstein said.

The scientists added that the filler was not as nutritious as ground beef, though the company disputed that. An industry website noted that a side-by-side comparison of nutrition labels showed "90 percent lean beef trimmings and 90 percent lean ground beef have substantially identical nutritional value. And all USDA certified ground beef [with or without lean finely textured beef] found in your grocery store is considered to be a good or excellent source of 10 essential nutrients including protein, iron, zinc and B-vitamins."
An Industry Website said. They say so, so, just except it.

The low-grade trimmings used to produce lean, finely textured beef come from the parts of the cow most susceptible to contamination, often close to the hide, which is highly exposed to fecal matter. But because of the treatment of the trimmings - after they have been simmered in low heat, separating fat and tissue using a centrifuge, they are sprayed with ammonia gas to kill germs - the USDA says it's safe to eat.
It goes on to talk about the Stores and the Schools. So there you have it. It's your fault folks. But they will give you just 60 days to change your mind. Or YOU will be responsible for all these fine people losing their Jobs. I don't know about you, but I know I'm not eating Dog Food anymore. If you want to buy this garbage, go to Wal-Mart and Sam's. They still sell it. Probably dirt Cheap too.

Energy Means JOBS

How many Billions have we thrown away?

Hey folks,

When you look at this, you have to see the Reality of the situation. This Administration is doing the exact opposite of what needs to be done to create Jobs. Remember our friend Paul Driessen? This is from his Post OPNTalk- American energy can jump-start US recovery Paul Driessen

Even businesses on the leading edge of the “green revolution,” crony capitalism and lobbying for dollars are faring poorly. After lapping up $1.5 billion in government red-ink subsidies and loan guarantees, three US solar companies filed for bankruptcy and fired over 2,000 workers. And still the Energy Department shoveled more billions of tax dollars into more wind and solar projects, despite voter objections. DOE also sponsored programs that cost $20 million to create 14 jobs and weatherize four Seattle houses in a year. It spent $80 billion to create 225,000 “clean energy” jobs – at $356,000 apiece. It shells out $6 billion a year to grow corn on an area bigger than Indiana, and convert it into ethanol that gets a third less mileage per gallon than gasoline.
There is now a Battery Company going bye-bye. This means even more Jobs lost. More money wasted. How many Billions have we thrown away? Green Company after Green Company going Bankrupt and out of Business. Taking with them JOBS. I love this. "DOE also sponsored programs that cost $20 million to create 14 jobs and weatherize four Seattle houses in a year." {Laughing} If it were not so serious, that would be funny. "$80 billion to create 225,000 “clean energy” jobs – at $356,000 apiece." That most of end up going bye-bye themselves. How would you like to make $356,000?

Now Obama is spending Money that should be paying off the Debt. For failed Policies and Agendas. He is adding to it. Truth is, if we were not giving these Green Companies Hundreds of Billions, they would all be gone. Most anyway.

Obama is also killing Jobs by his outward and open attacks on anything Natural. Coal, Oil, and Natural Gas. Hundreds of Thousands of real, well paid, Benefit giving, American Jobs. Hundreds of Thousands of Oil Jobs gone via Moratorium. More with the de-facto Moratorium. He just said NO to the Keystone Pipeline that would create Tens of Thousands of jobs, nearly overnight. NO to new Exploration and Drilling that would create Hundreds of Thousands of Jobs. NO to Coal. Costing Thousands of more Jobs lost. He is openly seeking to stop Shale Energy Production by attempting to stop Hydraulic Fracturing. If successful, more Thousands of Jobs will be lost yet again.

In contrast to the "Green Energy Industry?"

The petroleum industry alone currently supports some 9.2 million jobs, but could do much more. Recent studies by Wood McKenzie, ICF International and other analysts conclude that opening currently off-limits onshore and offshore areas could generate an additional $800 billion in government revenues and another 1.4 million jobs, by 2030. That includes primary jobs for roughnecks on rigs; secondary jobs in steel making, construction, pipelines, refineries, transportation and other sectors; and indirect jobs in hotel, restaurant, retail and other sectors that benefit from the increased energy, payrolls and economic activity. We could do likewise with coal, nuclear and hydroelectric projects.
But this Administration seems little interested in actually creating Jobs. They seem more bent on furthering agendas. Playing Politics.

Don't be fooled by Obama coming out and saying he was going to auction off Leases. He does not care about new Oil. He is just attempting to get Votes. He says he will do this, yet there are so many strings attached that it will not be worth it for anyone to do it. Not to mention, if there is no Oil? It's like this. Someone tells you that you can go dig for Gold in Area A. So you buy that right. You go and scan the area, you find little to nothing. However, all indications are that Area B does contain Gold. So you go back and they say, "Sorry. We gave you a lease for Area A, So unless you spend a few Million on the Lease you already have, we will not give you one for B." Ask yourself, would you throw that money away KNOWING that there is no Gold? Or at least not enough to make up the cost of going to get it? Of course not. That is what the Government is doing. They KNOW that there is no Oil in these areas, or the Companies WOULD be Drilling as we speak.

No folks, Energy really does equal Jobs. The right Energy equals Hundreds of Thousands of real, well paid, Benefit giving, American Jobs. Not shells. Not phony. Not show. Not Temp. Real, well paid, Benefit giving, American Jobs.

We have record high Unemployment. If you are not working, you are not buying a new Home. You are not buying that new Car. You are not buying that new Monster Big Screen TV. If you are not working, you are not generating and injecting revenue into the Economy. More Jobs lost means more damage to an already hurting Economy.

All we ever hear is how brilliant Obama is. Then let me ask you this. If this is true, then he is doing all this on purpose. Right? If not, he is the most ignorant President we have ever had. I'm not sure if the real reason matters. The end result is the same. When one does not use the answer that is so crystal clear for everyone else to see, one would have to ask themselves, why? Would one not?

Be right back with Part 3.

JOBS JOBS JOBS Three Year Span

Real Life History Lesson on Job Creation and Energy Production.

Hey folks,

Back on October 13, 2011, Rush Limbaugh talked about this Article that appeared in the Wall Street Journal - "Green Jobs Brown Out -- How to spend $157,000 per job."

"A new report by the Labor Department's Office of Inspector General examined a $500 million grant under the stimulus program to the Employment and Training Administration to 'train and prepare individuals for careers in "green jobs."' So far about $162.8 million has been spent. The program was supposed to train 125,000 workers, but only 53,000 have been 'trained' so far, only 8,035 have found jobs, and only 1,033 were still in the job after six months." So a half a billion dollars in stimulus money, Porkulus money supposed to go to jobs training for so-called green jobs. Three years later, only a third of that money has been spent, only 40% of the people who were to be trained have been trained, and only 15% of those trainees have gotten jobs, and only 12% of those people have kept the job for six months.

So all told, fewer than 1% of the people who were supposed to be put in green jobs by this green jobs training program now have jobs, and it only has cost $157,000 per job. And there's no business there! But that's not all. There is more. The regime has expanded the definition of green jobs now to include bus drivers. EPA regulators, university professors, that now qualifies as a green job, and therefore suitable for federal funding, even the Washington lobbyists who have been scoring these bad green energy loans. Meanwhile, Obama's latest jobs bill asks for more of exactly the same kind of jobs training for more green jobs.
This was money spent 3 years ago, and THIS is what we have to show for it? No energy, tons of wasted money. No Jobs. Then he talked about this Article in the National Review online - America’s Worst Wind-Energy Project

"The more people know about the wind-energy business, the less they like it," says Mr. Bryce, "And when it comes to lousy wind deals --" now, this is gonna blow your mind -- " General Electric’s Shepherds Flat project in northern Oregon is a real stinker. I’ll come back to the GE project momentarily. Before getting to that, please ponder that first sentence. [Wind-energy proponents admit they need lots of spin to overwhelm the truly informed.] It sounds like a claim made by an anti-renewable-energy campaigner. It’s not. Instead, that rather astounding admission was made by a communications strategist during a March 23 webinar sponsored by the American Council on Renewable Energy called 'Speaking Out on Renewable Energy: Communications Strategies for the Renewable Energy Industry.'" And they admit they need lots of spin to overwhelm people who really know what's going on.

"During the webinar, Justin Rolfe-Redding, a doctoral student from the Center for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University --" now stop and think of that, the Center for Climate Change Communication, a propaganda department at George Mason University "-- discussed ways for wind-energy proponents to get their message out to the public. Rolfe-Redding said that polling data showed that 'after reading arguments for and against wind, wind lost support.' He went on to say that concerns about wind energy’s cost and its effect on property values 'crowded out climate change' among those surveyed.

"The most astounding thing to come out of Rolfe-Redding’s mouth -- and yes, I heard him say it myself -- was this: 'The things people are educated about are a real deficit for us.'" The wind energy proponent, the PR guy, the strategist, said, "'The things people are educated about are a real deficit for us.' After the briefings on the pros and cons of wind, said Rolfe-Redding, 'enthusiasm decreased for wind. That’s a troubling finding.' The solution to these problems, said Rolfe-Redding, was to 'weaken counterarguments' against wind as much as possible. He suggested using 'inoculation theory' by telling people that 'wind is a clean source, it provides jobs' and adding that 'it’s an investment in the future.' He also said that proponents should weaken objections by 'saying prices are coming down every day.'

"It’s remarkable to see how similar the arguments being put forward by wind-energy proponents are to those that the Obama administration is using to justify its support of Solyndra, the now-bankrupt solar company that got a $529 million loan guarantee from the federal government. But in some ways, the government support for the Shepherds Flat deal is worse than what happened with Solyndra. The majority of the funding for the $1.9 billion, 845-megawatt Shepherds Flat wind project in Oregon is coming courtesy of federal taxpayers." Two billion, forget solar; now we're on to wind. Two billion for the Shepherds Flat wind project

"That largesse will provide a windfall for General Electric and its partners on the deal who include Google, Sumitomo, and Caithness Energy. Not only is the Energy Department giving GE and its partners a $1.06 billion loan guarantee, but as soon as GE’s 338 turbines start turning at Shepherds Flat, the Treasury Department will send the project developers a cash grant of $490 million. The deal was so lucrative for the project developers that last October, some of Obama’s top advisers, including energy-policy czar Carol Browner and economic adviser Larry Summers, wrote a memo saying that the project’s backers had 'little skin in the game' while the government would be providing 'a significant subsidy (65+ percent).' The memo goes on to say that, while the project backers would only provide equity equal to about 11 percent of the total cost of the wind project, they would receive an 'estimated return on equity of 30 percent.'"

Now, wait. It gets better. "The Obama administration’s loan guarantee for the now-bankrupt Solyndra has garnered lots of attention, but the Shepherds Flat deal is an even better example of corporate welfare. Several questions are immediately obvious: First: Why, as Browner and Summers asked, is the federal government providing loan guarantees and subsidies for an energy project that could easily be financed by GE, which has a market capitalization of about $170 billion?" Why are they being given two billion?

"Second: Why is the Obama administration providing subsidies to GE, which paid little or no federal income taxes last year even though it generated some $5.1 billion in profits from its U.S. operations? Third: How is it that GE’s CEO, Jeffrey Immelt, can be the head of the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness while his company is paying little or no federal income taxes? That question is particularly germane as the president never seems to tire of bashing the oil and gas industry for what he claims are the industry’s excessive tax breaks.

"A few months ago, I ran into Jim Rogers, the CEO of Duke Energy. I asked him why Duke -- which has about 14,000 megawatts of coal-fired generation capacity -- was investing in wind9energy projects. The answer, said Rogers forthrightly, was simple: The subsidies available for wind projects allow Duke to earn returns on equity of 17 to 22 percent." So my point, green jobs are government jobs, and the government is funding and subsidizing already wealthy corporations and then giving them a large return on their profit. Immelt may as well be in the same bed as Obama is in. "In other words, Shepherds Flat is adding yet more wind turbines to a region that has been overwhelmed this year by excess electrical generation capacity from renewables. And that region will now have to spending huge sums of money building new transmission capacity to export its excess electricity."

As Robert Bryce said, "The more people know about the wind-energy business, the less they like it."
That's because there is NO MARKET for this. There is nothing there. "Alternative" or "Green Energy" doesn't exist. As of yet, no one has come up with a method to make it self sustainable. No one has come up with a plan to make it able to be stored, mass accessible, and affordable for all. Without the Government throwing all this money away propping up these companies, they would simply go away. Then again, with Solyndra, AFTER a half Billion dollars, they STILL went Bankrupt.

So now let look at something TRULY amazing. Remember Perdido? They go out and say, we think there is an Energy Source here. From nothing, 2 years later, they are producing an Energy Source we KNOW will help increase the Supply, lowering the Demand, on what the World NEEDS to run. Here's a Video I hope you find as impressive as I. Check out the Video. It truly is amazing. I said this.

So let's recap. No oil. A structure larger than the Eiffel Tower, weighing as much as 10,000 cars, that will be producing oil from THREE different fields, and a product to market within 2 years. Do not tell me we can't do it. Do not tell me we can't drill our way out of foreign dependency. Out of outrageous gas prices, and do not tell me that this will kill the planet. We can do whatever we set our minds to. THAT is what has always, and will always, keep us great.
So TWO years, we can have increased Revenue to the Government to help pay down debt. Increased National Security. Lower Energy Costs for all. If the Government would just get out of the way, Tens of Thousands of Jobs would be created. Hundreds of Thousands of Jobs, both direct and ancillary, will be created all over the Country. History tells us this.

So which do you prefer? The "Green" Scam? Or REALITY. 3 Years and $500 Million Dollars to Create 1,033 Jobs and NO Energy? Or 2 years that Produce Hundreds of Thousand of Jobs, and affordable Energy for all? OH, and by the way. All that Exploration, Extraction, Refining, and Shipping? It costs Tax Payers ZERO. Not one Dime. No. Not one Pennie.

Analysis of Obama UN Speech 092211

MORE reasons he HAS to go in 2012.

Hey folks,

So Obama gives this Speech to the UN. We already KNOW where Obama stands on these issues. We already KNOW what he is attempting to DO about these issues. This was completely idiotic. All this Speech did, was show us, even MORE reasons he HAS to go in 2012.

First, his big point was Peace in the World. Yes. Peace. We already know where he stands on the Palestinian and Israeli Conflict. He is on the Palestinian side and he is NO friend of Israel. These are just facts folks.

Since he has taken Office, he has done nothing short of coming right out and telling Israel, "Screw Off." Well, then again, he DID suggest that Israel goes back to the indefensible 67 Boarders. He HAS completely disrespected Israel, refused to Visit. He has gone on a World Apology tour where he was Visiting and telling Muslim Lead Nations everywhere that we were to Blame for the World Ills, and that we would work with "Muslim Lead Nations EVERYWHERE." He has said he will give Muslim Lead Countries everywhere, YOUR Tax money to help them "Educate their Females." That is about as stupid as inviting Iran to a Hot Dog BBQ at the White House.

Israel? We will not back you if you attack Iran. We will not back you if you do not do what we tell you. Give up your land. Ignore all those attacks on you. Do not retaliate. Then he compares the Palestinians to American Black Slaves. We KNOW where he stands on this issue. This is not some Black Helicopter, tin Foil Hat, conspiracy theory, this is HISTORICAL FACT.

Then he says THIS.

Now, even as we confront these challenges of conflict and revolution, we must also recognize once more that peace is not just the absence of war. True peace depends upon creating the opportunity that makes life worth living. And to do that, we must confront the common enemies of human beings: nuclear weapons and poverty; ignorance and disease. These forces corrode the possibility of lasting peace, and together we are called upon to confront them.

To lift the specter of mass destruction, we must come together to pursue the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons. Over the last two years, we have begun to walk down that path. Since our Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, nearly 50 nations have taken steps to secure nuclear materials from terrorists and smugglers. Next March, a Summit in Seoul will advance our efforts to lock down all of them. The New START Treaty between the United States and Russia will cut our deployed arsenals to the lowest level in a half century, and our nations are pursuing talks on how to achieve deeper reductions. America will continue to work for a ban on the testing of nuclear weapons, and the production of fissile material needed to make them.
Can ANYONE tell me where the PROOF is that " 50 nations have taken steps to secure nuclear materials from terrorists?" This from a guy who thinks WE have 57 States? This from a guy that wants you to believe that if WE just gave away, destroyed, and or, just do away with all our Nukes, The World will do the same, and we will all sit around the Camp Fire and sing "Kumbayah." Truth is, Iran is not going to give up their Nuclear Quest. North Korea will not. Russia will not. If they find credible evidence that we did? That we can not retaliate. BOOM. We would be turned to glass.

Now I hate Nuclear Weapons. I do. I see no reason whatsoever, why ANYONE, including us, would need hundreds of Nukes. One is all you really need, well, maybe two. I would love a World without Nukes. It's a great Beatle's Song. But in REALITY, and World without Nukes is a World without America. What about those that will never give up Nukes? Well? Obama says we must pressure them. And uh, maybe even kick them out of the club. Well, maybe. He said this.

As we meet our obligations, we have strengthened the treaties and institutions that help stop the spread of these weapons. To do so, we must continue to hold accountable those nations that flout them. The Iranian government cannot demonstrate that its program is peaceful, has not met its obligations, and rejected offers that would provide it with peaceful nuclear power. North Korea has yet to take concrete steps toward abandoning its weapons, and continues belligerent actions against the South. There is a future of greater opportunity for the people of these nations if their governments meet their obligations. But if they continue down a path that is outside international law, they must be met with greater pressure and isolation. That is what our commitment to peace demands.
{Sigh} Then, this is just too much. Seriously. This is completely ridiculous. Take a look around at our Country, our Economy, and tell me that ANYONE should listen to him on this.

To bring prosperity to our people, we must promote the growth that creates opportunity. In this effort, let us not forget that we have made enormous progress over the last several decades. Closed societies gave way to open markets. Innovation and entrepreneurship has transformed the way we live and the things that we can do. Emerging economies from Asia to the Americas have lifted hundreds of millions from poverty. Yet three years ago, we confronted the worst financial crisis in eight decades. That crisis proved a fact that has become clearer with each passing year – our fate is interconnected; in a global economy, nations will rise, or fall, together.

Today, we confront the challenges that have followed that crisis. Recovery is fragile. Markets are volatile. Too many people are out of work. Too many others are struggling to get by. We acted together to avert a Depression in 2009. We must take urgent and coordinated action once more. Here in the United States, I have announced a plan to put Americans back to work and jumpstart our economy, and committed to substantially reduce our deficit over time. We stand with our European allies as they reshape their institutions and address their own fiscal challenge. For other countries, leaders face a different challenge as they shift their economies towards more self-reliance, boosting domestic demand while slowing inflation. So we will work with emerging economies that have rebounded strongly, so that rising standards of living create new markets that promote global growth. That is what our commitment to prosperity demands.
Seriously? He has NO Jobs Plan. He has no Economic Plan. He has NO plan to reduce the Deficit. He has a TAX Increase Plan. That's it. Nothing more.

To combat the poverty that punishes our children, we must act on the belief that freedom from want is a basic human right. The United States has made it a focus of our engagement abroad to help people to feed themselves. And today, as drought and conflict have brought famine to the Horn of Africa, our conscience calls on us to act. Together, we must continue to provide assistance, and support organizations that can reach those in need. And together, we must insist on unrestricted humanitarian access so that we can save the lives of thousands of men, women and children. Our common humanity is at stake. Let us show that the life of a child in Somalia is as precious as any other. That is what our commitment to our fellow human beings demands.
WHAT ABOUT US? Seriously? We have Record High Foreclosures, Record High Unemployment, The Economy is wrecked. It is ALL because of Liberal Policies and regulations. It is ALL the fault of Liberalism. Now, he wants to double down? And ANYONE looking at US, should listen to this guy? That's why when he talks about Freedom, it is just idiotic. Listen to this.

OPEN Society and Freedoms?

And to make sure our societies reach their potential, we must allow our citizens to reach theirs. No country can afford the cancer of corruption. Together, we must harness the power of open societies and open economies. That is why we have partnered with countries from across the globe to launch a new partnership on Open Government that helps ensure accountability and empower their citizens. No country should deny people their rights because of who they love,
Do you hear the words coming out of your mouth Obama? He doesn't believe this. His ACTIONS say otherwise.

which is why we must stand up for the rights of gays and lesbians everywhere. And no country can realize its potential if half its population cannot reach theirs.
Wait, did he just say that HALF our Population is Gay? I think he did.

This week, the United States signed a new Declaration on Women’s Participation. Next year, we should each announce the steps we are taking to break down economic and political barriers that stand in the way of women and girls. That is what our commitment to human progress demands.

I know that there is no straight line to progress, no single path to success. We come from different cultures, and carry with us different histories. But let us never forget that even as we gather here as heads of different governments, we represent citizens who share the same basic aspirations – to live with dignity and freedom; to get an education and pursue opportunity; to love our families and our God. To live in the kind of peace that makes life worth living.
He does not believe any of this. Then of course he had to comment about Global Warming.

Global Warming

To preserve our planet, we must not put off the action that a changing climate demands. We must tap the power of science to save those resources that are scarce. Together, we must continue our work to build on the progress made in Copenhagen and Cancun, so that all of the major economies here today follow through on the commitments that were made. Together, we must work to transform the energy that powers are economies, and support others as they move down that path. That is what our commitment to the next generation demands.
{Sigh} Folks, NO ONE believes this garbage anymore. Well, a few kooks that have accepted the Religion that is GWBS. But no one really buys this anymore. No one wants to give money, that is tight right now, to this SCAM. THERE IS NOTHING TO SWITCH TOO. IT IS ALL ABOUT CONTROL, POWER, and MONEY.

Folks, if you think that this Country is better off than it was 3 years ago. Then thank Obama. But keep in mind this. He WANTS another 4 years. Now THAT has keep him from going full speed. Imagine Obama with NOTHING to lose? 2012 is coming. It can not come soon enough.

Obama Jobs Speech Transcript 090811

Transcript of President Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress about Jobs and the Economy, 090811

Mr. Speaker, Mr. Vice President, members of Congress, and fellow Americans:

Tonight we meet at an urgent time for our country. We continue to face an economic crisis that has left millions of our neighbors jobless, and a political crisis that’s made things worse.

This past week, reporters have been asking, “What will this speech mean for the President? What will it mean for Congress? How will it affect their polls, and the next election?”

But the millions of Americans who are watching right now, they don’t care about politics. They have real-life concerns. Many have spent months looking for work. Others are doing their best just to scrape by -- giving up nights out with the family to save on gas or make the mortgage; postponing retirement to send a kid to college.

These men and women grew up with faith in an America where hard work and responsibility paid off. They believed in a country where everyone gets a fair shake and does their fair share -- where if you stepped up, did your job, and were loyal to your company, that loyalty would be rewarded with a decent salary and good benefits; maybe a raise once in a while. If you did the right thing, you could make it. Anybody could make it in America.

For decades now, Americans have watched that compact erode. They have seen the decks too often stacked against them. And they know that Washington has not always put their interests first.

The people of this country work hard to meet their responsibilities. The question tonight is whether we’ll meet ours. The question is whether, in the face of an ongoing national crisis, we can stop the political circus and actually do something to help the economy. (Applause.) The question is -- the question is whether we can restore some of the fairness and security that has defined this nation since our beginning.

Those of us here tonight can’t solve all our nation’s woes. Ultimately, our recovery will be driven not by Washington, but by our businesses and our workers. But we can help. We can make a difference. There are steps we can take right now to improve people’s lives.

I am sending this Congress a plan that you should pass right away. It’s called the American Jobs Act. There should be nothing controversial about this piece of legislation. Everything in here is the kind of proposal that’s been supported by both Democrats and Republicans -- including many who sit here tonight. And everything in this bill will be paid for. Everything. (Applause.)

The purpose of the American Jobs Act is simple: to put more people back to work and more money in the pockets of those who are working. It will create more jobs for construction workers, more jobs for teachers, more jobs for veterans, and more jobs for long-term unemployed. (Applause.) It will provide -- it will provide a tax break for companies who hire new workers, and it will cut payroll taxes in half for every working American and every small business. (Applause.) It will provide a jolt to an economy that has stalled, and give companies confidence that if they invest and if they hire, there will be customers for their products and services. You should pass this jobs plan right away. (Applause.)

Everyone here knows that small businesses are where most new jobs begin. And you know that while corporate profits have come roaring back, smaller companies haven’t. So for everyone who speaks so passionately about making life easier for “job creators,” this plan is for you. (Applause.)

Pass this jobs bill -- pass this jobs bill, and starting tomorrow, small businesses will get a tax cut if they hire new workers or if they raise workers’ wages. Pass this jobs bill, and all small business owners will also see their payroll taxes cut in half next year. (Applause.) If you have 50 employees -- if you have 50 employees making an average salary, that’s an $80,000 tax cut. And all businesses will be able to continue writing off the investments they make in 2012.

It’s not just Democrats who have supported this kind of proposal. Fifty House Republicans have proposed the same payroll tax cut that’s in this plan. You should pass it right away. (Applause.)

Pass this jobs bill, and we can put people to work rebuilding America. Everyone here knows we have badly decaying roads and bridges all over the country. Our highways are clogged with traffic. Our skies are the most congested in the world. It’s an outrage.

Building a world-class transportation system is part of what made us a economic superpower. And now we’re going to sit back and watch China build newer airports and faster railroads? At a time when millions of unemployed construction workers could build them right here in America? (Applause.)

There are private construction companies all across America just waiting to get to work. There’s a bridge that needs repair between Ohio and Kentucky that’s on one of the busiest trucking routes in North America. A public transit project in Houston that will help clear up one of the worst areas of traffic in the country. And there are schools throughout this country that desperately need renovating. How can we expect our kids to do their best in places that are literally falling apart? This is America. Every child deserves a great school -- and we can give it to them, if we act now. (Applause.)

The American Jobs Act will repair and modernize at least 35,000 schools. It will put people to work right now fixing roofs and windows, installing science labs and high-speed Internet in classrooms all across this country. It will rehabilitate homes and businesses in communities hit hardest by foreclosures. It will jumpstart thousands of transportation projects all across the country. And to make sure the money is properly spent, we’re building on reforms we’ve already put in place. No more earmarks. No more boondoggles. No more bridges to nowhere. We’re cutting the red tape that prevents some of these projects from getting started as quickly as possible. And we’ll set up an independent fund to attract private dollars and issue loans based on two criteria: how badly a construction project is needed and how much good it will do for the economy. (Applause.)

This idea came from a bill written by a Texas Republican and a Massachusetts Democrat. The idea for a big boost in construction is supported by America’s largest business organization and America’s largest labor organization. It’s the kind of proposal that’s been supported in the past by Democrats and Republicans alike. You should pass it right away. (Applause.)

Pass this jobs bill, and thousands of teachers in every state will go back to work. These are the men and women charged with preparing our children for a world where the competition has never been tougher. But while they’re adding teachers in places like South Korea, we’re laying them off in droves. It’s unfair to our kids. It undermines their future and ours. And it has to stop. Pass this bill, and put our teachers back in the classroom where they belong. (Applause.)

Pass this jobs bill, and companies will get extra tax credits if they hire America’s veterans. We ask these men and women to leave their careers, leave their families, risk their lives to fight for our country. The last thing they should have to do is fight for a job when they come home. (Applause.)

Pass this bill, and hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged young people will have the hope and the dignity of a summer job next year. And their parents -- (applause) -- their parents, low-income Americans who desperately want to work, will have more ladders out of poverty.

Pass this jobs bill, and companies will get a $4,000 tax credit if they hire anyone who has spent more than six months looking for a job. (Applause.) We have to do more to help the long-term unemployed in their search for work. This jobs plan builds on a program in Georgia that several Republican leaders have highlighted, where people who collect unemployment insurance participate in temporary work as a way to build their skills while they look for a permanent job. The plan also extends unemployment insurance for another year. (Applause.) If the millions of unemployed Americans stopped getting this insurance, and stopped using that money for basic necessities, it would be a devastating blow to this economy. Democrats and Republicans in this chamber have supported unemployment insurance plenty of times in the past. And in this time of prolonged hardship, you should pass it again -- right away. (Applause.)

Pass this jobs bill, and the typical working family will get a $1,500 tax cut next year. Fifteen hundred dollars that would have been taken out of your pocket will go into your pocket. This expands on the tax cut that Democrats and Republicans already passed for this year. If we allow that tax cut to expire -- if we refuse to act -- middle-class families will get hit with a tax increase at the worst possible time. We can’t let that happen. I know that some of you have sworn oaths to never raise any taxes on anyone for as long as you live. Now is not the time to carve out an exception and raise middle-class taxes, which is why you should pass this bill right away. (Applause.)

This is the American Jobs Act. It will lead to new jobs for construction workers, for teachers, for veterans, for first responders, young people and the long-term unemployed. It will provide tax credits to companies that hire new workers, tax relief to small business owners, and tax cuts for the middle class. And here’s the other thing I want the American people to know: The American Jobs Act will not add to the deficit. It will be paid for. And here’s how. (Applause.)

The agreement we passed in July will cut government spending by about $1 trillion over the next 10 years. It also charges this Congress to come up with an additional $1.5 trillion in savings by Christmas. Tonight, I am asking you to increase that amount so that it covers the full cost of the American Jobs Act. And a week from Monday, I’ll be releasing a more ambitious deficit plan -- a plan that will not only cover the cost of this jobs bill, but stabilize our debt in the long run. (Applause.)

This approach is basically the one I’ve been advocating for months. In addition to the trillion dollars of spending cuts I’ve already signed into law, it’s a balanced plan that would reduce the deficit by making additional spending cuts, by making modest adjustments to health care programs like Medicare and Medicaid, and by reforming our tax code in a way that asks the wealthiest Americans and biggest corporations to pay their fair share. (Applause.) What’s more, the spending cuts wouldn’t happen so abruptly that they’d be a drag on our economy, or prevent us from helping small businesses and middle-class families get back on their feet right away.

Now, I realize there are some in my party who don’t think we should make any changes at all to Medicare and Medicaid, and I understand their concerns. But here’s the truth: Millions of Americans rely on Medicare in their retirement. And millions more will do so in the future. They pay for this benefit during their working years. They earn it. But with an aging population and rising health care costs, we are spending too fast to sustain the program. And if we don’t gradually reform the system while protecting current beneficiaries, it won’t be there when future retirees need it. We have to reform Medicare to strengthen it. (Applause.)

I am also -- I’m also well aware that there are many Republicans who don’t believe we should raise taxes on those who are most fortunate and can best afford it. But here is what every American knows: While most people in this country struggle to make ends meet, a few of the most affluent citizens and most profitable corporations enjoy tax breaks and loopholes that nobody else gets. Right now, Warren Buffett pays a lower tax rate than his secretary -- an outrage he has asked us to fix. (Laughter.) We need a tax code where everyone gets a fair shake and where everybody pays their fair share. (Applause.) And by the way, I believe the vast majority of wealthy Americans and CEOs are willing to do just that if it helps the economy grow and gets our fiscal house in order.

I’ll also offer ideas to reform a corporate tax code that stands as a monument to special interest influence in Washington. By eliminating pages of loopholes and deductions, we can lower one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world. (Applause.) Our tax code should not give an advantage to companies that can afford the best-connected lobbyists. It should give an advantage to companies that invest and create jobs right here in the United States of America. (Applause.)

So we can reduce this deficit, pay down our debt, and pay for this jobs plan in the process. But in order to do this, we have to decide what our priorities are. We have to ask ourselves, “What’s the best way to grow the economy and create jobs?”

Should we keep tax loopholes for oil companies? Or should we use that money to give small business owners a tax credit when they hire new workers? Because we can’t afford to do both. Should we keep tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires? Or should we put teachers back to work so our kids can graduate ready for college and good jobs? (Applause.) Right now, we can’t afford to do both.

This isn’t political grandstanding. This isn’t class warfare. This is simple math. (Laughter.) This is simple math. These are real choices. These are real choices that we’ve got to make. And I’m pretty sure I know what most Americans would choose. It’s not even close. And it’s time for us to do what’s right for our future. (Applause.)

Now, the American Jobs Act answers the urgent need to create jobs right away. But we can’t stop there. As I’ve argued since I ran for this office, we have to look beyond the immediate crisis and start building an economy that lasts into the future -- an economy that creates good, middle-class jobs that pay well and offer security. We now live in a world where technology has made it possible for companies to take their business anywhere. If we want them to start here and stay here and hire here, we have to be able to out-build and out-educate and out-innovate every other country on Earth. (Applause.)

And this task of making America more competitive for the long haul, that’s a job for all of us. For government and for private companies. For states and for local communities -- and for every American citizen. All of us will have to up our game. All of us will have to change the way we do business.

My administration can and will take some steps to improve our competitiveness on our own. For example, if you’re a small business owner who has a contract with the federal government, we’re going to make sure you get paid a lot faster than you do right now. (Applause.) We’re also planning to cut away the red tape that prevents too many rapidly growing startup companies from raising capital and going public. And to help responsible homeowners, we’re going to work with federal housing agencies to help more people refinance their mortgages at interest rates that are now near 4 percent. That’s a step -- (applause) -- I know you guys must be for this, because that’s a step that can put more than $2,000 a year in a family’s pocket, and give a lift to an economy still burdened by the drop in housing prices.

So, some things we can do on our own. Other steps will require congressional action. Today you passed reform that will speed up the outdated patent process, so that entrepreneurs can turn a new idea into a new business as quickly as possible. That’s the kind of action we need. Now it’s time to clear the way for a series of trade agreements that would make it easier for American companies to sell their products in Panama and Colombia and South Korea -– while also helping the workers whose jobs have been affected by global competition. (Applause.) If Americans can buy Kias and Hyundais, I want to see folks in South Korea driving Fords and Chevys and Chryslers. (Applause.) I want to see more products sold around the world stamped with the three proud words: “Made in America.” That’s what we need to get done. (Applause.)

And on all of our efforts to strengthen competitiveness, we need to look for ways to work side by side with America’s businesses. That’s why I’ve brought together a Jobs Council of leaders from different industries who are developing a wide range of new ideas to help companies grow and create jobs.

Already, we’ve mobilized business leaders to train 10,000 American engineers a year, by providing company internships and training. Other businesses are covering tuition for workers who learn new skills at community colleges. And we’re going to make sure the next generation of manufacturing takes root not in China or Europe, but right here, in the United States of America. (Applause) If we provide the right incentives, the right support -- and if we make sure our trading partners play by the rules -- we can be the ones to build everything from fuel-efficient cars to advanced biofuels to semiconductors that we sell all around the world. That’s how America can be number one again. And that’s how America will be number one again. (Applause.)

Now, I realize that some of you have a different theory on how to grow the economy. Some of you sincerely believe that the only solution to our economic challenges is to simply cut most government spending and eliminate most government regulations. (Applause.)

Well, I agree that we can’t afford wasteful spending, and I’ll work with you, with Congress, to root it out. And I agree that there are some rules and regulations that do put an unnecessary burden on businesses at a time when they can least afford it. (Applause.) That’s why I ordered a review of all government regulations. So far, we’ve identified over 500 reforms, which will save billions of dollars over the next few years. (Applause.) We should have no more regulation than the health, safety and security of the American people require. Every rule should meet that common-sense test. (Applause.)

But what we can’t do -- what I will not do -- is let this economic crisis be used as an excuse to wipe out the basic protections that Americans have counted on for decades. (Applause.) I reject the idea that we need to ask people to choose between their jobs and their safety. I reject the argument that says for the economy to grow, we have to roll back protections that ban hidden fees by credit card companies, or rules that keep our kids from being exposed to mercury, or laws that prevent the health insurance industry from shortchanging patients. I reject the idea that we have to strip away collective bargaining rights to compete in a global economy. (Applause.) We shouldn’t be in a race to the bottom, where we try to offer the cheapest labor and the worst pollution standards. America should be in a race to the top. And I believe we can win that race. (Applause.)

In fact, this larger notion that the only thing we can do to restore prosperity is just dismantle government, refund everybody’s money, and let everyone write their own rules, and tell everyone they’re on their own -- that’s not who we are. That’s not the story of America.

Yes, we are rugged individualists. Yes, we are strong and self-reliant. And it has been the drive and initiative of our workers and entrepreneurs that has made this economy the engine and the envy of the world.

But there’s always been another thread running throughout our history -- a belief that we’re all connected, and that there are some things we can only do together, as a nation.

We all remember Abraham Lincoln as the leader who saved our Union. Founder of the Republican Party. But in the middle of a civil war, he was also a leader who looked to the future -- a Republican President who mobilized government to build the Transcontinental Railroad -- (applause) -- launch the National Academy of Sciences, set up the first land grant colleges. (Applause.) And leaders of both parties have followed the example he set.

Ask yourselves -- where would we be right now if the people who sat here before us decided not to build our highways, not to build our bridges, our dams, our airports? What would this country be like if we had chosen not to spend money on public high schools, or research universities, or community colleges? Millions of returning heroes, including my grandfather, had the opportunity to go to school because of the G.I. Bill. Where would we be if they hadn’t had that chance? (Applause.)

How many jobs would it have cost us if past Congresses decided not to support the basic research that led to the Internet and the computer chip? What kind of country would this be if this chamber had voted down Social Security or Medicare just because it violated some rigid idea about what government could or could not do? (Applause.) How many Americans would have suffered as a result?

No single individual built America on their own. We built it together. We have been, and always will be, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all; a nation with responsibilities to ourselves and with responsibilities to one another. And members of Congress, it is time for us to meet our responsibilities. (Applause.)

Every proposal I’ve laid out tonight is the kind that’s been supported by Democrats and Republicans in the past. Every proposal I’ve laid out tonight will be paid for. And every proposal is designed to meet the urgent needs of our people and our communities.

Now, I know there’s been a lot of skepticism about whether the politics of the moment will allow us to pass this jobs plan -- or any jobs plan. Already, we’re seeing the same old press releases and tweets flying back and forth. Already, the media has proclaimed that it’s impossible to bridge our differences. And maybe some of you have decided that those differences are so great that we can only resolve them at the ballot box.

But know this: The next election is 14 months away. And the people who sent us here -- the people who hired us to work for them -- they don’t have the luxury of waiting 14 months. (Applause.) Some of them are living week to week, paycheck to paycheck, even day to day. They need help, and they need it now.

I don’t pretend that this plan will solve all our problems. It should not be, nor will it be, the last plan of action we propose. What’s guided us from the start of this crisis hasn’t been the search for a silver bullet. It’s been a commitment to stay at it -- to be persistent -- to keep trying every new idea that works, and listen to every good proposal, no matter which party comes up with it.

Regardless of the arguments we’ve had in the past, regardless of the arguments we will have in the future, this plan is the right thing to do right now. You should pass it. (Applause.) And I intend to take that message to every corner of this country. (Applause.) And I ask -- I ask every American who agrees to lift your voice: Tell the people who are gathered here tonight that you want action now. Tell Washington that doing nothing is not an option. Remind us that if we act as one nation and one people, we have it within our power to meet this challenge.

President Kennedy once said, “Our problems are man-made –- therefore they can be solved by man. And man can be as big as he wants.”

These are difficult years for our country. But we are Americans. We are tougher than the times we live in, and we are bigger than our politics have been. So let’s meet the moment. Let’s get to work, and let’s show the world once again why the United States of America remains the greatest nation on Earth. (Applause.)

Thank you very much. God bless you, and God bless the United States of America. (Applause.)

Obama Dissed By Everyone

"I bet you are so proud of your guy. Showing complete disrespect to the President of the United States. You and the rest of the teabaggers must be so proud."

Hey folks,

Happy Friday to ya.

JB, I AM proud of John Boehner, Speaker of the House. He finally showed he has some kahunas. Your right JB. It was a sign of complete disrespect. But it was Obama. It was Obama showing complete disrespect to the Republicans, and the American People who want to get to know the Republican Candidates better.

Lets look at the FACTS JB. Fact one, the Republican Debate has been scheduled for a while. NBC has already secured Sponsors, contracts have been signed, schedules have been completed, formats set. This has been a done deal for a while.

Along comes Obama, who sees his approval PLUMMETING! He needs something, anything, to help him get back some of the people, mostly Independents, who are fleeing in droves. So he announces his Campaign Speech, the SAME TIME, SAME DATE, as the Republican Debate. This was Kindergarten stuff. Obama jumping up and down on the Playground saying "look and me, look at me." It was an attempt to make him look more important than any possible opponent. The optics were suppose to show him as the Big Man with a Plan, and the Republicans as radical, children, playing games and talking trash, while HE is here to solve problems and look out for the little guy.

Why did it not work? Because EVERYONE knows this is NOT a Jobs Speech. This is nothing more than blame EVERYTHING and EVERYONE, of course, don't forget Bush, for all the problems HE has intensified and created. Yes, he will blame Hurricanes, Earthquakes, the Republicans, Evil Business Owners, and the Rich. He will call for an increase in taxation for the Rich. He will say that you can keep that $7.00 to $10.00 bucks extra in your Pay Check. He will call for an extension in Unemployment. He will call for even MORE spending. It's the same old same old that has made EVERYTHING WORSE.

Now a Friend of mine DID tell me that he may call for Legislation, or some kind of Policy to FORCE Businesses to hire people even if they do not need them or can afford them. I'm waiting to see if he actually goes through with that. He believes, according to my friend, that he can FORCE Businesses to hire, so that Jobs will be created. I'll wait to see if he is that stupid before I comment further on that one.

But there will be nothing new. Everyone know that. That's why people are just telling him, "Put your plan in writing, and send it to Congress so we can read it and debate it." But no, no, no. He is going to give this big Speech to the Nation during a join Session of Congress.

But JB? It's not just the Republicans in the House. How do you feel about the NFL? Seriously. The NFL is also dissing Obama. He wanted to have his Speech Prime Time. But he can't. The Networks said NO. Why? Because of the NFL' s Season Opener between the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints. {Laughing} They KNOW people would rather watch FOOTBALL than listen to this Cry Baby Moron we have as a President.

So JB. You are RIGHT. It was purely Political, disrespectful, and an act of disgrace. Obama is a child. It was no one else here but Obama. Everything else was scheduled WELL in advance. I like THIS link better: Washington Post - Obama will address Congress at 7 p.m. next Thursday Just the facts JB. Just the facts.

Have a great Weekend folks. See you soon.
Peter

FAA Back to Work. Energy Jobs?

I'm glad that's over.

Hey folks,

Yes I'm VERY glad that's over. I'm so sick and tired of hearing the Democrats USE out of work FAA Employees to further their Agendas. I really am. If I heard one more Democrat cry foul over 4,000 furloughed FAA Employees being out of work, I was going to be sick. If I heard one more Democrat say that it was wrong for them to be out of work over some made-up Political Agenda, I was getting ready to Intellectually slap someone upside the head. And as for this idiotic Statement from Obama?

"This impasse was an unnecessary strain on local economies across the country at a time when we can't allow politics to get in the way of our economic recovery," Obama said in a statement. "So I'm glad that this stalemate has finally been resolved."
{Sigh} So am I. I'm glad that's over. Now how about the Tens of THOUSANDS of unemployed Energy Sector Employees? Hmm? What about the HUNDREDS of thousands of FUTURE Energy Sector Employees? Hmm? Hello? Why are they still out of work?

Hey Obama? "This impasse IS an unnecessary strain on Local Economies across the Country at a time when we can't allow Politics to get in the way of our Economic Recovery."It really is just that simple. I agree with you Barack.

Since the completely pointless Moratorium, Tens of thousands of REAL, Full Time, Well Paid, American Jobs have been lost. BILLIONS in Revenue to the Government has been lost. TRILLIONS in NEW Revenue is being lost by YOUR slowing the Permitting Process. Hundreds of THOUSANDS of NEW Jobs are being lost. American Security is decreasing by the day. NOW we have Iran in charge of OPEC. Energy Costs, which hurt the Economy by the way, are unnecessarily High. Mr President, I repeat. "This impasse IS an unnecessary strain on Local Economies across the Country at a time when we can't allow Politics to get in the way of our Economic Recovery." So when are you going to TRIUMPH THEIR Cause?

I understand you have an agenda and you are sticking to it. I get that. But American People are HURTING and it is a DIRECT result of YOUR Political Games and Agendas. We heard all about the few Thousand FAA workers and the $400 million in lost Revenue. CHUMP CHANGE! That is NOTHING, compared to the hurt and lost revenue YOU have caused in your attacks on the Energy Industry.

Actually, if you really want to think about it. What about the THOUSANDS of NASA Employees that are out of a Job. The Millions of regular folks that are out of a Job thanks to the Obama Economy. All we hear about is a few thousand GOVERNMENT UNION Workers? They are back to work. What about everyone else?

It actually made me sick to hear all this non-sense about a few thousand FAA Employees, and NOTHING about the Tens of Thousands Energy Employees that are out of work BECAUSE of Obama. So sad, so sorry, see ya?

Again folks, I do not want to see ANYONE out of work. I'm glad that they are going back. But we have others hurting far more, and they have been hurting far longer than two weeks. What about them? What about what THEY can actually DO for this Country. The FAA does what? Can they help the Economy? Are they supplying what we need? Can they help the little old Grandma chose between eating or heating their Home in the Winter? Will they make sure that you can AFFORD to go to work? Do they REALLY increase National Security?

How about it Barack. Feel like helping the Economy, increasing American Security, and the creation of Hundreds of thousand real long lasting AMERICAN Jobs? It is simple. It cost the Tax Payer NOTHING. Just simply GET OUT OF THE WAY.
Peter

REAL American Jobs / Real Answers to Our Energy Crisis

These are REAL Jobs for REAL American People. RIGHT NOW!

Hey folks,

I just simply want you to read this piece from the Wall Street Journal - Energy Boom Fuels Hiring By RYAN DEZEMBER

Oilfield services companies are doing a booming business amid the rush to tap North America's newfound troves of crude oil and natural gas. The discoveries are pushing U.S. energy employment to its highest level in two decades.

Baker Hughes Inc. on Monday said its income in North America doubled last quarter from a year-ago to $440 million, despite weather-related disruptions in Canada that weighed on results. Last week, Halliburton Co. said its second quarter North American profit more than doubled from a year earlier. Schlumberger Ltd. on Friday said its North American profit jumped six-fold to $673 million, from $116 million a year ago.

Those gains translated into at least 17,200 new U.S. oilfield jobs during the quarter, according to federal employment data. In May, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported there were 413,500 jobs in the oil and gas extraction and support businesses in positions ranging from roustabout to tax accountant. Oil and gas extraction added jobs in June; corresponding data is not yet available for support positions. All the hiring, however, hasn't moved the needle on the nation's unemployment rate, now at 9.2%, due to weakness in construction and other industries.

Schlumberger Chief Executive Andrew Gould worries that a shortage of skilled workers will become a pinch point as the company responds to global demand for its services."The ability to provide both North American and international markets with required people in a continued growth phase will be a challenge," Mr. Gould said.

Schlumberger, Halliburton as well as smaller rivals Baker Hughes and Weatherford International Ltd., are watched closely because of their global reach and their linchpin position between equipment makers, rig owners and energy producers. Their profits are a good barometer of the industry's job growth. On Tuesday, Weatherford is expected to report profit rose 36% from a year ago, according to Thomson Reuters.

Baker Hughes has been on a hiring spree, adding 2,200 employees in the U.S. in the last 12 month, said Vice President Adam Anderson. "We plan to continue to do so this year," he said. Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy Corp. hopes to add as many as 450 workers this year to a U.S. payroll that tops 3,300 and could repeat that level of hiring in 2012, said Frank Rudolph, the company's top human resources executive. "These are typically well-paid people," he said in an interview.

After shedding jobs for much of the previous two decades, steady job growth returned to the U.S. industry in 2004, about the same time that U.S. energy producers began extracting natural gas from shale-rock formations. The industry combined horizontal drilling with a rock-cracking process called hydraulic fracturing to release huge quantities of gas once thought to be out of reach.

U.S. oil and gas explorer Anadarko Petroleum Corp. on Monday posted net of $562 million compared to a year-ago loss of $28 million.

The ensuing drilling frenzy fed a flurry of hiring. The run was curtailed by recession in 2009, but recovery has come swiftly. The sector has added an average of 5,920 jobs a month this year through May and preliminary data suggest that trend continued in June. Through May, there are 13.6% more jobs tied to drilling than at the end of last year. By contrast the number of construction jobs in the U.S. has only grown 0.8% in that span.
Now all we keep hearing from Obama and Crew on how this Utopia of "Green Dreams," will Create Jobs and save us from our Energy Crisis. Most estimate that in best case scenarios, ten to fifteen years from now, we may make a bit of a dent on our Energy Independence of Oil and Natural Gas. It MAY create a few thousand Jobs, {GM has their Batteries being made overseas. Solar Panels are being made overseas, Wind Turbines? Yup. Accept for those being funded by YOU the Tax Payer} But it MAY help us reduce our needs on Oil, MAYBE, sometime in the distant future.

HERE is what is happening NOW. Just one industry. TODAY! In the Economic Mess that this Administration and Liberal Policies have put us in. These are REAL Jobs for REAL American People. RIGHT NOW! Now after reading this. I want you to think about something. Imagine if the Government would just get out of the way. Imagine the Increased Production. Imagine the Increase Jobs that would HAVE to be created to support that Production. Imagine the Increased Revenue to our Government. Imagine the Increase Product added to the supply. Increased American Security. Increase Revenue. Increase Jobs. Lower costs for all.

Dreams vs Reality. Which do you think will help our Economic Situation? Dreams vs Reality. What do you think will increase Jobs? Dreams vs Reality. Which do you prefer?

IWA For Sunday 071011

No one believes this.

Hey folks,

Time to wrap things up with the Idiot of the Week. I DOUBT that even the MMD can spin this one. No amount of talking points will convince any,,well, OK, ALMOST anyone that this is a true Statement. It is nearly incomprehensible that someone would ACTUALLY speak it out loud.

I know some of you will not like this. But the FACTS are the FACTS. It WAS Fannie and Freddie that started this whole mess. It WAS the Democrats that stood in the way of more Government Regulations. It was people like Barney Frank who said "I see nothing wrong with Fannie and Freddie. There's no problem here." {Barney Frank impersonation} Oh great, I just spit all over the Computer. "There is nothing wrong here. No. No need for these investigations." {Barney Frank impersonation} It was people like Maxine Waters that called the Investigators Racist. "I think we need to Investigate the Investigator. There is no problem here. The Problem is this Investigator." {Maxine Waters Impersonation}

Just the FACTS folks. It IS FACT that it IS the Liberal Leadership that began spending out of control. Started Regulating, well, Companies that they do not like. GM Pays NOTHING in Taxes. This is because they are in bed with the Liberals, and Obama himself. It is FACT that Jamming through Obamacare created the uncertainty that helped bring us to were we are now. Record high unemployment. As Obama is about to add 18 thousand PLUS to these numbers thanks to him closing down the Space Shuttle Program. It is FACT that those Shovel Ready Jobs never happened. Where is all the money? Double dip Housing Recession. Despite all the programs to save it. No Jobs, Foreclosures, uncertainty of Obamacare and NEW EPA Regulations, the Green Movement BS, ETC.

So yeah, Bush spent like 700, or 800 Billion on the Bank Bailout. But all this did was open the door for Obama to pend MORE than all Presidents up to NOW. Obama and the Liberal's QUEST to create a Liberal Socialist Dictatorship that created the mess we are in. Then they come out and say they want to double down. Spend MORE.

They lie all the time. Obama even Lies to his own Base. "I will close Gitmo." Still open. "I will end the war." He doubled down, and CREATED two more. "I will save the Economy and create Jobs." He has made it worse. He cost us Tens of THOUSANDS of Jobs. The De-Facto Moratorium caused Tens of Thousands of Jobs, and RAISED Energy Costs. He CAUSED Thousands of MORE Jobs lost in GM and Chrysler, forcing Dealers to close down all across the Country. He caused THOUSANDS of Jobs by causing small Businesses to close down all over the Country due to uncertainty over Obamacare, Taxation fears, and Green Regulation Fears. He WILL be causing Tens of THOUSANDS MORE jobs when the Shuttle lands for the last time. I just saw a Restaurant that fears they will close down because they rely on tourists and Employees at Cape Canaveral.

These are the FACTS. Like them or not. These are the FACTS. Forget what Obama and Crew tell you. These are the FACTS.So now this brings me to our Idiot of the Week. She actually said this. She fumbled through it, but she actually said it.

Obamacare "Will create 4 Million Jobs. 400,000 Almost Immediately."
WHAT?!? Really? You know, I never do this. Well, nearly never. But I was curious. So I read the comments. 6 PAGES of Comments at the time. Oh go HERE, Real Clear Politics - Pelosi: Health Reform Will Create 400,000 Jobs "Almost Immediately" to see the Video and read the Comments yourself. No one believes this. Most reoccurring theme is Tell us HOW. She is an Idiot. She is from a different Planet. She is a Twit. Well, she is a Twit. But no one is believing this. It WILL do, like most things that Obama and Crew say, the exact opposite.

One of my favorite Comments is from someone calling themselves Prevaricator, who said this.

Statements you can believe in :

Healthcare bill will create 400,00 jobs, the earth is flat, the Sun revolves around the earth, and I have never had a botox injection..
Congratulations Nancy Pelosi, you ARE the Idiot of the Week. Even some of your Liberal Base think you are full of it. Facts are FACTS Nancy. Numbers do not lie. Well, as long as you use REAL numbers. When Logic and Reason oppose whatever you say, this can not come as a surprise to you. YOU should be use to people not believing you by now. 2010 should have sent you a message. I would like to think 2012 will seal the deal. Hey, maybe you will be fired AGAIN. But fret not Nancy, you will always be one of our favorite little Idiots.

Job Creation? Government? Get Out of The Way

The GOP Plan for Job Growth

Hey folks,

It's kind of funny. I was talking to a friend of my VIA Emails last night and I predicted that BG would send me a Comment or question about the Obama Announcement that he was releasing some of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, I asked our good friend over at API about this and I am awaiting an answer. This is pointless and the timing is, well, puzzling. But I will talk more about this on Sunday BG.

But since it IS Friday, TIME to go to the Emails. Hi how are ya? How are you doing? Do you like your Job? Do you HAVE a Job? With Record High Unemployment continuing, and an Election coming up, this Administration continues to talk about Job Creation.

However, that is ALL they are doing. Talking. No plan. No idea. No apologies for the fact THEY are to blame for a lot of this. All they want to do is SPEND more. We do not have what we are spending NOW, and none of their out of control spending has worked. No "Shovel Ready Jobs." No Jobs PERIOD.

So SB said this.

"It seems to me to be an easy solution. Like Reagan said. 'Government is not the solution to our problem government IS the problem.' Business do not know what to do about Healthcare, what taxes are going up, the future costs due to a lack of an energy policy, so on. Over regulation and oppressive taxation will not create jobs. I like the gop plan. What do you think."

Hey SB. I agree. And I LOVE that. "Over Regulation and oppressive Taxation will not create Jobs." You are of course 100 percent right about that. I like the GOP Plan also. Here is a piece from Speaker of the House, Rep. John Boehner (R., Ohio) who wrote in the National Review Online - ‘Recovery Summer,’ One Year Later June 17, 2011 4:00 A.M.

A Republican blueprint for job growth

One year ago today, the Obama administration launched its “Recovery Summer” publicity tour to bolster flagging support for the “stimulus.” Vice President Biden said, “The fact is, the recovery act is working.” But the fact is, it didn’t. “Recovery Summer” fizzled, much like the “stimulus” itself.

Republicans have a real blueprint for job creation — the “Plan for America’s Job Creators.” What makes our plan different is that it focuses on one thing: removing government barriers to private-sector job growth.

The “stimulus” was all about big spending and big government — not jobs. That was obvious on the day the “Recovery Summer” began in my home state of Ohio. Local construction workers on a nearby site in Columbus were forced to take the day off, without pay, so the White House entourage could roll through and tout all the taxpayer dollars they were spending. But all that spending got us was more debt and fewer jobs.

Approximately 1.5 million jobs have been lost since the “stimulus” was signed in 2009 — roughly 300,000 of them as administration officials hopped from town to town promoting the “summer of recovery.” The national unemployment rate was 9.1 percent in May — far above the 8 percent promised by the White House — and has averaged 9.5 percent throughout the Obama presidency.

The president can call this a “bump in the road,” or blame ATMs, or joke that those “shovel ready” jobs that were promised “weren’t as shovel ready as we expected.” But there’s nothing funny about policies that keep workers on the unemployment line and drive us deeper into debt. Those aren’t the kinds of results — and this isn’t the recovery — the American people deserve.

To be fair, there are some positive economic signs in Ohio today, in part because the Buckeye State now has a governor, John Kasich, who is working to remove the barriers that have held back our state economy. But we need that same kind of leadership in Washington.

That’s why, from the moment the American people entrusted us with the majority in the House of Representatives, Republicans have been focused on one thing: jobs.

Our new plan builds on our Pledge to America and the efforts we’ve undertaken all year to liberate our economy from the shackles of debt and big government.

First, our plan would rein in excessive regulatory burdens and red tape that make it harder for small businesses to hire new workers. According to the Small Business Administration, smaller firms spend as much as $10,585 per employee complying with federal regulations. Massive laws such as Obamacare have made things worse by driving up health-care costs and threatening jobs.

We’ve already repealed the devastating small-business paperwork mandates included in the health-care law, and we’re working to repeal and defund the whole thing. Another bill — the REINS Act — would require congressional approval for any federal regulation with a major economic impact.

Our plan would expand American energy production to help create jobs and lower gas prices. The House has already passed the Energy Tax Prevention Act to stop the EPA from imposing a “cap and trade” national energy tax that would destroy jobs and drive up prices. And we’ve approved several bills to expand production and end the administration’s de facto moratorium on offshore energy.

Our plan would pay down America’s debt over time by stopping Washington from spending money it doesn’t have and preventing tax hikes on families and small businesses. The House has passed a budget that would cut more than $6 trillion in government spending, spur private-sector job growth, and save Medicare for current and future retirees. Senate Democrats still haven’t passed a budget, and the president’s plan for Medicare is to let it go bankrupt.

Our plan would reform the tax code to make America more competitive, closing loopholes and lowering rates. And our plan would open new markets for American-made goods by passing the three job-creating trade agreements that are now before Congress — those with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea. Every day these agreements are delayed, Ohio farmers and manufacturers lose out to competitors in other countries. We need to act now.

The anniversary of President Obama’s “Recovery Summer” publicity stunt is a good reminder that families and small businesses in Ohio and across the country can’t afford more spending and more debt — they need more jobs. And Republicans are listening.

The Republican plan — reining in excessive regulations, expanding energy production, paying down our debt, fixing our tax code, and opening new markets for American-made goods — is a serious blueprint for private-sector job creation and long-term economic growth.

Folks, this can be summed up in SIX Words. Get Government out of the way. Let America BE America again. Look at what he talks about here. Lifting a lot of the Government Oppressive Regulations and Red Tape. Repealing Obamacare. Lowering Taxes. Making the Tax Code more simple. Expanding Energy. All these things have one thing in common. Government is standing in the way. Get Government out of the way, and let the Private Sector WORK. Let the PEOPLE bring our Economy back. The PEOPLE that actually DRIVE the Economy.

So yes, in short. I LOVE the Plan. Let's hope they stick to it in 2012 when they win the Senate and the White House.

Have a GREAT Weekend folks, see you Sunday.

Breaking News, People Are Worried About Paying For Homes

BREAKING NEWS?!?!

Hey folks,

Happy Thursday to you. For ME? It's FRIDAY. Remember, no Friday "From the Emails" this Week. That is why we are doing it today. There will also be no "Big Sunday Edition" this Week. Heading to St. Augustine first thing in the AM and will gone all Weekend. Going to the Haunted Lighthouse, a Jail, and an old School. Then Warehouse 13. Can't wait. Josh is excited to stay home and have a Sleep over with his Aunt and Cousin. But fret not, I will be back here on Tuesday.

So, since it's "Friday," it time to go to the Emails.
"Hey Pete, this should be in your "can't make up" category. I file it under duh. This came to ME under "Break News." All I could do is think really. This is BREAKING NEWS?!?!"
{Laughing} to some in the Liberal Media, and even some in Power, YES.

Here is the Link. The Washington Post - Most Americans worry about ability to pay mortgage or rent, poll finds By Ariana Eunjung Cha and Jon Cohen Washington Post Staff Writers Thursday, October 28, 2010; 12:52 AM
A majority of Americans now say they are worried about making their mortgage or rent payments, underscoring the extent of economic anxiety in the country heading into midterm elections.

A new Washington Post poll shows that concerns about housing payments have spiked since 2008 despite some improvements in the overall economy. In all, 53 percent said they are "very concerned" or "somewhat concerned" about having the money to make their monthly payment. Worries are the most intense among those with lower incomes and among African Americans.

The poll results highlight the political challenge facing the Obama administration: Despite committing hundreds of billions of dollars to bail out troubled financial firms, create jobs and keep distressed borrowers in their homes, it has not been able to make many people feel better about their personal situations or even relieve fears about the cost of a need as basic as shelter.
This is Breaking News? Seriously? Poor Obama. Look, the people are not happy. He is trying so hard, by the People just do not get it. They are worried. Look at this quote in this article. I love this.
"Effectively what the consumer is saying is that we don't care what the eggheads say - this still feels like a recession," said Ken Goldstein, an economist with the Conference Board, a private research group.

Indeed, the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan survey on consumer sentiment found that in early October personal financial expectations were near an all-time low and that views about government economic policies had dropped to their lowest level since President Obama took office.

Driving such sentiments are the lingering difficulty of finding jobs in many parts of the country and growing fear that the jobs Americans have now are less secure, analysts said.

"The unemployment rate is still very, very high, so if you think of it as being about the odds of someone losing their job and not being able to find another, there's good reason to be concerned about being able to make mortgage payments," said Karen Dynan, a Brookings Institution scholar who worked as an economist for the Federal Reserve and for President George W. Bush.
They had to find a way to through Bush into this. {Laughing} Why? Is this to say you see, it's Bush's fault? It's NOT. This is all Obama and ALL the Democrats in Congress. The PEOPLE know it. Did you catch the OTHER Poll out there? 76% Know Someone Out of Work and Looking For a Job That's 76 percent of American know someone who WANTS to Work, yet CAN'T find a job. I know someone that was making 15 dollars an hour, was out of work for TWO YEARS, now makes minimum wage. AFTER TWO YEARS.

Folks, this maybe breaking news to the Liberals and the Liberal Media, but it's NOT to REAL Americans. The People. There is NO RECOVERY going on for THEM. This is a direct result of Obama and Crew, and their Liberal Policies. It really is that plain, and that SIMPLE.

You know, I was checking my Emails, scanning the News to see what was out there just FIVE, yes 5 days away from the Elections, and all I see is how the Media and the Liberals, want to "Stop the GOP!" "Stop the Tea Party" "Extremist Senators like DeMint must be stopped." "Obama is under attack by Extremists." Blah, blah, blah. I told you, do not be fooled by all this. Do not be fooled by the MMD telling you it's a tight race, or people like Pelosi saying she will still be Speaker or Biden Predicts Dems Will Hold onto Control of House, Senate Do not be fooled by this nonsensical Panic Reporting. In FIVE days, that's 5 days, do what you KNOW you need to do, VOTE! Unless of course, you want more of the same, do not VOTE for those that got us in this mess. Vote to bring a bit of Sanity and Reason back to Government. VOTE these Idiots OUT!

See you Tuesday folks, have a GREAT Weekend.
Peter
