Jumping to The Conspiracy Side?

Or just looking at the FACTS.

Hey folks,

I know, I know, some of you are going to be thinking that I have completely lost it. I understand that some of you will think I have TOTALLY jumped over to the Black Helicopters, Tin Foil Hat, Conspiracy Camp. But I'm sorry, I BARELY believe in Coincidence in any form to begin with, and all this? All this is TOO Coincidental for me.

OK. First, Obama comes out and says we WILL Drill more. He WILL uphold Bush's lifting of the Moratorium. Remember that? Right after his Election. Finally, NOTHING is going to stand in our way of using our own Natural Resources. We will be Energy Independent and Energy Costs will come down. What happens? A Drilling Rig explodes two weeks later.

When THAT turned out to NOT be as big a Disaster as the Left Hoped, and Obama was said to be thinking about lifting the REINSTATED Moratorium, what happens? An 18 Wheeler, just sitting at the dock, explodes at a Oil Refinery. There was another Rig Fire.

Now then, look at Coal. When Coal started to be talked up, and when Obama seemed to be running away from VP Biden's comments "NO dirty Coal Plants HERE." What happens? Yup. Coal Mines Disasters. Not one. But MANY, and Multiple places around the World.

So what do we have today? Obama and the Left USING all this to keep the De facto Moratorium in place, and Obama doing what he SAID he would do, attempting to BANKRUPT the Coal Industry.

So now just the past Month, with Gas Prices and the cost to Heat and Cool your Home starting to Skyrocket again, we talked about the Keystone Pipeline, and how it could be. 92 Percent of US Liquid Fuel Produced Here and Canada. We talked in depth about this and API had a Blogger Conference call on this very subject. So what happens? You guessed it. A Pipeline "accident." According to CBS News - Yellowstone oil pipeline was cited for safety

(AP) LAUREL, Mont. - An oil pipeline that spewed tens of thousands of gallons of crude oil into Montana's Yellowstone River was temporarily shut down in May because of concerns over rising waters, and regulators twice in the last year warned Exxon Mobil of several safety violations along the line.

Exxon Mobil officials estimated that up to 1,000 barrels, or 42,000 gallons, spilled late Friday night before the flow from the damaged pipeline was stopped. The break near Laurel has fouled miles of riverbank and forced municipalities and irrigation districts to close intakes across eastern Montana.

By early Monday the company had received 70 calls into a hotline set up for property owners suffering from the spill, although spokesman Alan Jeffers said not all of those were reports of oil.

Jeffers said 125 workers were on the ground Monday cleaning up scattered sections of riverbank that received crude. But he added that there was no longer a defined slick of oil moving down the river and the impacts were unlikely to grow.

"It's unlikely there's any oil in the water at this point," Jeffers said. "That doesn't mean we know where it all is."

Officials in Yellowstone County were working with the company to connect cleanup personnel with affected property owner, Commissioner John Ostlund said.

Montana's Disaster and Emergency Services Division was unable early Monday to give an update on the spill, including whether the oil had in fact dissipated. Environmental Protection Agency officials also could not immediately provide any new information.
So again, not big enough. They were hoping for BIGGER. But do not fret folks, the Pictures of oil covered animals are out there making their rounds. Oh by the way?

The cause of the spill has not yet been determined, but company and government officials have speculated that high waters in recent weeks may have scoured the river bottom and exposed the pipeline to debris that could have damaged the pipe. Eastern Montana received record rainfall in the last month and also has a huge snowpack in the mountains that is melting, which has resulted in widespread flooding.

"We are very curious about what may have happened at the bottom of the river. We don't have that yet," Pruessing said
And of course they got some Moron to get their 15 minutes and make Idiotic Statements like this.

"The smell has been enough to gag a maggot," said Corbin, 64. "I just hope it doesn't come too far because I'm on a well, and I won't appreciate having to shower in Exxon oil."
Oh the story goes on Oil is Evil, they do not care, and even though:

The spill was small compared to other oil-related disasters, such as the 11 million gallons leaked by the Exxon Valdez in Alaska in 1989. But officials said the pristine nature of the Yellowstone, along with its turbulent waters and riverside communities, complicated their cleanup efforts and attempts to assess the damage.
It will still be YEARS before we fully understand the SEVERITY of the Evil Moves by Big Oil. Yes, we do not know how this happened, {They really do not care HOW} we just know it did. And WE CAN NOT HAVE ANOTHER INCIDENT LIKE THIS!. We need MORE regulation and MORE Government Control, to protect the People and Nature. We need to go GREEN. No new Pipeline until we discover how this happened and find a way to prevent this in the future. {Sigh}

Now I know, like I said, some of you think I jumped over to Kookville. Some of you think I have proudly put on my Tin Foil Hat. I know that when I entertained the thought that the Rig Explosion may have been caused by someone furthering an agenda, that even those in the Industry said it was unlikely that anyone could pull it off. But NOW? When you sit back and look at the BIG PICTURE and the TIMING of all these "Accidents," one has to at lease consider, IS there more to it? I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

More Facts On Drilling, Permits, and Obama

Drilling Increased and he's not blocking anything. So sayth Obama.

Hey folks,

Well, here are even more FACTS on Drilling, Permits, and Obama.

Fact: Secretary Salazar Is Not Issuing New Deepwater Permits
Interior Is Allowing Existing Permit Holders to Resume Exploration in the Gulf of Mexico

NEW ORLEANS, March 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Jim Adams, president and CEO of the Offshore Marine Service Association (OMSA), said that BOEMER's late day announcement that it has issued an additional permit for deepwater drilling is misleading.

"There were 32 deepwater drilling operations already permitted when the President imposed his moratorium last year. Interior Secretary Salazar is merely allowing existing permit holders to resume their operations," said Adams. "This administration has yet to approve and permit a new deepwater exploration proposal submitted in the last 11 months."

Adams continued, "Secretary Salazar is treating Gulf workers like peasants, tossing us work crumb by crumb and expecting us to be grateful," Adams said. "We're tired of fighting for scraps. We want to get back to work—all of us, not just a handful of crews."

Adams noted that Secretary Salazar's latest announcement follows on the heels of another round of Congressional hearings this week on the Obama administration's de facto moratorium on deepwater drilling in the Gulf.

"It still takes Congressional intervention or court orders to compel the Interior Department to issue a scant number of 'permits'," Adams said. "And still, energy producers don't have a clear picture of what it takes—or how long it takes—to satisfy Secretary Salazar."

"No one is sure what Secretary Salazar really wants," Adams added. "All we want is to get back to work."

OMSA represents the owners and operators of U.S. flag offshore service vessels and the shipyards and other businesses that support that industry.

SOURCE Offshore Marine Service Association
What Secretary Salazar really wants? He doesn't know what he really wants. He wants whatever the new dictate is coming from Obama.

Look, take this, couple it with everything we talked about last week, add in there the Transcript of the API / Blogger Conference Call, and then you have a REAL snapshot of what is going on with our Energy Costs, and American Security. Then you will have the Truth and the FACTS of what is REALLY happening on the Enrgy Front. It is NOT as Obama attempted to get you to believe.

Obama Administration Appealing Judge Order on Drilling

Obama Administration Ignoring another Judge.

Hey folks,

Remember when I to you that there was a "De Facto" Moratorium Still In Place? Well there is. As I said before.
Obama doesn't have to put in place an actual Ban, just make it cost preventive to do it. Create too many hoops to jump through right from the get go.
So the official Moratorium is appearing to be gone, the Administration STILL refuses to OK several Drilling Permits. So some of these companies took their cases to court and a Judge ordered the Obama Administration to either OK, or Deny them. Basically, he said, "Do your job."

Well, the Obama Administration will not be told to do their Job. They have agendas and they are sticking to them. They do not care if they are Unconstitutional, immoral, or outright illegal. They really do not care what the Law or any Judge, unless the Judge agrees with them, says. We have seen this before. They ignore the Judge that said Stay out of Arizona. They ignore the Judge that ruled Obamacare Unconstitutional. And now they will appeal this Judge. According to Politico - Interior appeals oil drilling ruling By DAN BERMAN & DARREN GOODE
The Obama administration late Friday appealed a judge's orders directing the Interior Department to act on several Gulf of Mexico deepwater drilling permits.

The appeal is the latest salvo in the ongoing fight over the speed with which Interior is – or isn't – letting oil drillers get back to work after last year's BP oil spill.

Gulf state lawmakers and the oil industry have accused the department of enacting a "de facto" moratorium against new drilling, while Interior says it needs to ensure safety and environmental protections are in place.
Which IS what they are doing. They do not care about $4 or $5 dollar a gallon gas. Higher Heating Oil. Higher Food Prices. They do not care that there are Food Riots due to the cost of Energy and the LACK of Food being produced due to the Farmers being paid BY Obama and Crew to grow Corn and Other Products for Ethanol instead of Food. They do not care how volatile the Mid East gets, which IS effecting the price of Energy, and American Security. They would rather play games in Court.
Friday's appeal challenges rulings by Judge Martin Feldman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, who on Feb. 17 gave Interior 30 days to make a verdict on five pending deepwater drilling permits applications. He later added two additional permits to that order.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar had hinted the appeal was coming at a Senate hearing Wednesday.

“The judge in this particular case in my view is wrong," Salazar said. “And we will argue the case because I don’t believe that the court has the jurisdiction to basically tell the Department of Interior what my administrative responsibilities are.”
This is pretty standard with this Administration. "We feel the Judge is wrong, so we just do not care what they say. We will do whatever we want anyway."
He added, “the policy we have in mind is unmistakingly clear: We are moving forward with the development of oil and gas” production."
NO YOU ARE NOT! You are BLOCKING it.
Earlier in February, the judge held Interior in contempt, citing "dismissive conduct" by blocking offshore drilling during last year's spill.

The delay in issuing permits since last year’s Gulf of Mexico oil spill is “increasingly inexcusable," Feldman wrote.

Interior on Monday announced the approval of the first deepwater drilling permit held up since last year’s spill. The permit, issued to Noble Energy for a well partially owned by BP, was not one of those that Feldman’s ruling addressed.
I know that we will not find out WHY this one was approved. The Media will NEVER look into this. Is there someone in the Administration that stands something to gain from THIS one? Is there a Relative to someone working there? Why this one?

Remember when Gas was hitting $4.00? Bush was blamed. There were all kinds of hearings? Where is the Media now? Where are those that wanted Bush Impeached, and VP Dick Cheney thrown in Jail. Obama SAID he likes high Gas Prices. He SAID he would Bankrupt the Coal Industry. He IS blocking Drilling. He IS ignoring Courts all over the place. Where are the Protesters? Oh I know some are out there, Like Sheehan, Code Pink, ETC, that where Daily News, are still out there. But now, the Media wants NOTHING to do with them. They want NOTHING to do with Grandma dying in the north because she froze to death unable to pay to heat her home. They want NOTHING to do with placing the blame now. Because the blame now lays at Obama's feet.

Egypt, Iran, Oil Moratorium, Winter, Economic Chaos

All this could be avoided by US Drilling.

Hey folks,

As we sit on our, uh, hands, things are adding up World Wide. They are coming together and WE are left paying the Price. According to Benzigna - A Tale of Crudes: Anybody Got A Big Rig? By Dian L. Chu Economic Forecasts & Opinions February 20, 2011 5:00 PM

On Wednesday, Feb. 16 Israel said Iran is sending two warships into the Suez Canal on way to Syria, and that the action is considered a “provocation.” Due to the long history of bad blood between Israel and Iran, this very possible scenario was enough to even send the bear-infested NYMEX crude oil futures volume surging midday.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) on Nymex rose to just below $85, while Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange spiked $2.17 higher to $103.81 a barrel—a 29-month high-- widening the WTI-Brent spread to a new record near $19.

High Middle East Tension

Then on Friday, Feb. 18, AFP reported that permission has been granted for Iranian warships to transit the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean. Canal officials say it would be the first time Iranian warships have made the passage since the 1979 Islamic revolution, while Israel has labeled the Iranian action as "hostile' and said Israel was closely monitoring the situation.

As the worst Israel-Iran conflict scenario failed to materialize, at the close Friday Feb. 18, Brent crude oil for April settled at $102.79 while WTI for April delivery rose to $89.71, narrowing the spread to $13.11.

Now along with this tension that is building, uncertainty is rising, We are feeling it. We are paying for it. WE are losing this. According to Daily Finance - High Heating Oil Prices Continue to Drain Wallets in the Northeast U.S. - DailyFinance:
"Bitter cold and repeated heavy snowstorms helped make winter in the Northeastern U.S. particularly brutal this year. Adding to the chills were soaring prices for heating oil that are likely to be the highest on record.

By the time the six-month-long winter heating season is over, the average homeowner in the Northeast will have laid out $2,431 for fuel to fire boilers and furnaces, Reuters reported, citing data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, which provides forecasts of energy costs.

The amount is about $200 more than the Energy Department predicted in October -- and almost $500 more than the average just a year ago.

Temperatures were indeed colder than average in December and January, but that's not the source of the high price for heating oil. '[R]ising oil prices, not colder weather, have been the primary cause of the increase in forecasts of average winter season heating expenditures for households heating with oil,' the EIA said in its statement.

The price of heating oil rose to $90 a barrel this month, up from $78 in October, Reuters noted. That rise pushed the average retail price for residential heating oil to $3.59 a gallon this week, up 73 cents from a year earlier, the EIA said"
Then you have the other trend that we are following closely. I told you about China buying Chesapeake Energy, Now we learn that India, yes, India, Essar Energy to provide $1b bank guarantee
MUMBAI: Essar Energy will provide a bank guarantee of $1 billion to close the offer it made to acquire Shell's Stanlow refinery in the UK, according to a person who is part of ongoing negotiations with banks. This bank guarantee would be over and above the $350 million that Essar Energy agreed to offer for the assets of Stanlow refinery.

"The company (Essar) will finalise the bankers who will furnish the guarantee in the next three to four months," said the person who requested anonymity as the transaction is still underway.

Typically, the purchase price of a functional refinery consists of the asset cost plus an amount for working capital which includes inventory. The value of the inventory, in the case of a refinery, is determined at the close of the deal to reflect the latest price of crude.

On February 18, Essar Energy made the offer to buy Shell's 272,000 barrel-a-day refinery and the associated local marketing businesses for a total expected consideration of about $1.3 billion. Essar Energy's deal value of $1.13 billion includes $780 million for the inventory with the UK refinery. Shell agreed in principle to the offer made by Essar Energy and has granted exclusivity to the offer until April 1, 2011.
So China will control a third of Chesapeake Energy, India is buying up a Shell Refinery that produces 272,000 barrels a day. Grandma in upstate NY can no longer afford to heat her Home. Gas prices continue to rise. People on Fixed Incomes, the Poor and Elderly hardest hit. We? What are WE doing here in this country? Reducing our Energy Production. Dreaming the Green Dream. Obama said that Oil is the Energy of the Past. OK. What do we switch to? There is NOTHING.

The answer is CLEAR. California went to the line, before the Left Loons got involved. They saw the way out. But they let Politics get in the way of Progress. How do we alleviate concerns of Mid East Instability? How do we guarantee the Creation of TENS OF THOUSANDS of new and REAL US Jobs? How do we INCREASE revenue into our Local, State, and Federal Governments? How do we alleviate the pressure and hardship one has in attempting to PAY to Heat their Homes? Reduce the Price at the Pump? How do we INCREASE American Safety and Security? There is one answer to all this. Dill. Drill HERE. Drill NOW.

In a Year and a half, we could be well on our way to stability in our energy Costs, A safer and more secure Energy Policy. A Better Economic Outlook, and just plain Sanity. Lift the pointless and useless Moratorium. Remove Pointless and purely Political, oppressive Regulations and Controls. Let the Energy Companies do their thing. All the President and Congress need to do is get the Hell out of the Way, and let Americans DO way Americans do best. And YES! It really is, just that simple.

China Pays $570 Million for One-Third of US Firm Chesapeake Energy

Told you there would do it.

Hey folks

Happy Tuesday to you. As I have been telling you, China has overtaken the US in demand for Oil and Natural Gas. SO? Instead of going "Green," or limiting their own Oil and Natural Gas Production, they are INCREASING their own supply. Since people like Chesapeake Energy are finding it difficult to pay to jump through all the hoops and blocks that Obama and Crew have put into place, they {China} look like a very economical alternative. Sell off a third to China, let them deal with it. They don't have to. NO. I'm sure this has nothing to do with US Energy Secretary being Steven Chu. {Smile} I said this.

I told you about China, stepping in and buying up a third of the Shale Project in Texas from Chesapeake Energy. Why? Because Chesapeake Energy found it cost preventive, to jump through all the Hoops that Obama and Crew have put into place, just to get permission to START. Due to regulations, fines, and taxes, this Administration has accomplished what it wants to accomplish. Moratorium De Facto Still In Place.

So why is China doing this? Is it because they are greedy? Because they hate the planet? Is it because they are against the "Green Dream?" No. According to
Reuters -
China overtakes U.S. as biggest energy consumer: IEA

Well, it has happened. According to the AFP - China's CNOOC buys stake in US energy project
BEIJING — China's CNOOC Ltd said Monday it has agreed to pay $570 million for one-third of US firm Chesapeake Energy's shale oil and gas drilling project in the American states of Colorado and Wyoming.

The investment in the 800,000-acre (323,749-hectare) project in two basins is the second deal between the firms since October and signals greater efforts by both energy-guzzling countries to develop the hard-to-reach resources.
And cut through all the absurd Red Tape and Blocks put into place. So instead of us using our OWN resources, we have China buying interest, and yes, that means THEY will be acquiring OUR Resources, from US Land, for THEIR use. They will not have to pay us for it. WE LOSE. They Profit. {Sigh}
CNOOC's wholly owned subsidiary CNOOC International would buy the 33.3 percent stake, the Chinese company said on its website. In addition, it will fund two-thirds of the drilling costs up to $697 million.

"It is a great pleasure to establish further cooperation with Chesapeake in shale oil and gas development," said CNOOC chairman Fu Chengyu.

"The project highlights the joint interests of energy companies in both US and China to accelerate the development of shale oil and gas, increase energy supply and reduce greenhouse gas emissions."
It will not reduce the non-existent "Greenhouse Gases." Not according to the Environuts. Oh, wait. There is none unless it is the US drilling. Anyone else is OK. Just like the Moratorium in the Gulf. We are not Drilling, but everyone else is and increasing their Drilling. But because WE are not, somehow we are safer? As I said before:

This is really not that hard to understand Their Energy Demands increase, they are looking to increase their Supply. They need to to keep Energy affordable for all of THEIR people. Since WE WON'T, they, and others, WILL. Then we will have to rely more on them, for our own product. I LOVE this piece from Investors Business Daily - China's Will To Drill

This is not an isolated incident. It IS a growing trend.
Chesapeake announced in October it had reached a deal with CNOOC to sell about a third of its interest in the Eagle Ford Shale project in South Texas for $1.08 billion.

Chief executive of the Oklahoma-based company, Aubrey McClendon, said the latest deal would "provide the capital necessary to accelerate drilling" in the project in northeast Colorado and southeast Wyoming and create thousands of jobs.

Shale gas comes from deep reserves that were thought inaccessible until the advent of new drilling methods. But costs still are usually above conventional gas, and some environmentalists worry about pollution in drinking water.

Chinese companies are investing in resources from Australia to Africa to Latin America as Beijing tries to secure access to raw materials needed to fuel the fast-growing economy.
So basically, read this one part again. "some environmentalists worry about pollution in drinking water." That is one of the driving forces behind these companies selling off to foreign Companies. Foreign Companies follow different and less restrictive rules and regulations. They are exempt from a lot of the "Enforcement" methods. They, like us, are experts on what they do, yet THEY are not being told by our Government, "we know better than you."

So there you have it folks, WE are giving up more and more control of, use of, and profit from, our own resources. Imagine if the Government would just get out of way, and let US be US. Let OUR companies do what they do best. Let US use our OWN resources? Like paying $3.00, $4.00, or even $5.00 a gallon for gas? Knowing the whole time that others are increasing their own supply, which will lower THEIR costs? Thank Obama.

Tighter Federal Rules, New Fees for Drilling, New Government Bureaucracy

The Economy in shambles. Record High Unemployment, Foreclosures, and Oil Prices going up. What do we need? According to Obama's Oil Spill Commission, MORE GOVERNMENT.

Hey folks,

Notice the Oil Prices? Have ya? I bet you've noticed the price at the Pump. We already discussed the pointless Moratorium. It's not making us safer, cleaner, nor more Independent. Other continue to Drill unabated by anything Obama and this Administration says. They are NOT American Companies, and do not have to listen to anything this Administration says or does. The only ones NOT Drilling is us.

So now that many have been driven out, and Obama says "No new Drilling for {a fictitious} seven years," taking American Jobs and resources with them, after sluggish Permit process has been put into place, AFTER we are starting to see the effects at the Pumps, and AFTER more and more rhetoric, what is the Solution for those that have stayed behind? Tighter Federal Rules, new fees for Drilling, and MORE Government Bureaucracy.

Look, we all know that the Price at the Pump, is based on Supply and Demand. As we have discussed many times. We are not going to be adding to that Supply. The World knows this. We are however, helping to add to the Demand. Those hit the hardest are the Poor and Middle Class. Those on a Fixed Income. When the price of Fuel goes up, so does the price of everything else.

So According to The Washington Post - Oil spill panel calls for tighter federal rules, new fees for drilling By Juliet Eilperin and David S. Hilzenrath
The presidential oil spill commission said Tuesday that the federal government should require tougher regulation, stiffer fines and a new industry-run safety organization, recommendations that face an uncertain future in the new Congress.
Yeah, I hope it all DIES in the New Congress. But this is the answer for those on the Left. More Government. More Government interference, oppression of Freedom, and THEFT of both property and profit. According to this Obama hand picked group:
The panel proposed several safeguards aimed at strengthening regulators’ control over the oil and gas industry, including establishing an independent safety agency within the Interior Department that would be headed by someone for a fixed term in order to insulate the appointee from political interference. Graham said such a person should have “a background of both science and management.”
A fixed term means three things. One, the Administration can wave off ANY responsibility, and or blame. "Hey they did it not us." Two, the person can not be fired easily. Even if a NEW Administration gets Voted in, it will be difficult to get this person out. Three, ONLY the person appointing them, have a say on who they are. No elections, no consequences for the Choice. No Debate. Just Bam! Here they are.
It also called for funding the regulatory agency that oversees offshore drilling, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE), with fees from the companies who are tapping into the nation’s petroleum resource.
Yeah, good luck with that one. Not to mention this is a sad statement in of itself. "with fees from the companies who are tapping into the nation’s petroleum resource," Too bad it's not AMERICAN Companies tapping into AMERICAN Resources. As far as hitting foreign companies with new fees and "regulations?" They really will not do much. We are not going to get our own, which means we have to rely on OTHERS for our Energy needs. Not to mention also, they really do not care what the OTHER Countries Companies do. They really don't. If one of them have a Spill, we just blame THEM. Not Government's fault. They were not following our Rules. Meanwhile they will reap the benefits from them Drilling. While talking about chasing the "Green Dream" here.

I agree whole heartily with Karen Harbert of the U.S. Chamber who said this.
“It is now time for our government to let these companies get back to work and supply our nation with needed energy, jobs and revenue. There is no valid reason to continue the delay.”
I don't know. Logic, commonsense, and reason. I do not have too much faith that this Administration will follow her advice.

Gas Prices And The Economy

Why do I do the From "The Energy Front" EVERY Week?

Hey folks,

Why? Because you can not separate Gas, and Heating Oil, From the Equation. I know, I know, the Government does. They do not add in Gas and Food, when figuring inflation. Why? I do not understand. But they don't.

However, in the REAL World, you can not leave out the price of Energy. Gas effects the price of just about EVERYTHING. From Powering your home, Vehicle of course, to the cost of EVERYTHING that you get in the Stores. When Energy Costs and Gas Prices go up, it costs more to MAKE, SHIP, and even SELL, all those thing that you go to your local store to buy. Just like higher taxation, Corporations, and Businesses do NOT pay the increase. They do not even pay Tax in general. YOU do. They pass it on through the price of the Goods you want to buy. So affordable energy, and Gas Prices, mean affordable EVERYTHING else. Oppressive Costs raise the price for EVERYTHING else.

Some of you got upset with me in the past because I told you the truth. You said that I was using fear tactics. No. It's called Reality. Someone making a million a year, or even say $100,000 a year, might not worry about the price of Gas. Those in Power, the President, Senators, and Representatives, MOST of whom are Millionaires, do not care about the Price of Gas. But Grandma does. The Single Mom working two Jobs does. ANYONE on a fixed income DOES. Remember $4.00 a gallon for gas? EVERYTHING went up. Now those who have fixed Incomes have to start making decisions. What to cut. Does Grandma heat her Home, or buy Prescription Meds, or FOOD. That Single Mom MIGHT have to now give up one of those Part Time Jobs, because she can no longer afford the Gas to drive there. Well, we are heading back to $4.00, and WAY beyond.

I couldn't get away from it yesterday. All I kept hearing, all day, was another in the Wilderness, CRYING out. $5.00 a gallon is coming. The former CEO of Shell oil , John Hofmeister, says gasoline prices in America could reach $5.00 gallon by 2012. He actually said this.

"I'm predicting actually the worst outcome over the next two years which takes us to 2012 with higher gasoline prices,"
Now even those that want to disagree with him, and call him out for "fear mongering," AGREE with him. How does that work? Yeah, Yeah, we will see $5.00 a gallon, but uh, now right now, so uh, don't worry about it. Here is an example of what we got yesterday. Tom Kloza, the Head Analyst with Oil Price Information Service says he's right, however,,,
"That wolf is out there and it's going to be at the door...I agree with him that we'll see those numbers at some point this decade but not yet. The demand is still sluggish enough in some of the mature economies."
We do NOT have to see them AT ALL!!! The only reason we ARE seeing them, is OBAMA. Is this insane and completely pointless Drilling Moratorium. It is NOT saving the Planet. It is not making us Cleaner. Others ARE still Drilling and INCREASING their exploration and Drilling, and THEY do not have to meet Obama's insane and oppressive Regulations.

Let me remind you yet again what Obama said about the $4.00 a gallon Gas Price. He likes it. He would just have preferred a more gradual increase.
"I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment. The fact that this is such a shock to American pocketbooks is not a good thing. But if we take some steps right now to help people make the adjustment, first of all by putting more money into their pockets, but also by encouraging the market to adapt to these new circumstances more quickly, particularly US automakers, then I think ultimately, we can come out of this stronger and have a more efficient energy policy than we do right now."
Well? Gas is at $3.10 a gallon, and going up. By 2012, we are talking $5.00 a gallon. Is THAT gradual enough? So he costs us, AGAINST TWO COURT ORDERS, around 150,000 current Jobs, 57,000 NEW high paying, long lasting, REAL Jobs. Added Billions if not TRILLIONS to the Local and Federal Government Revenue stream loss. Which did and WILL increase the Deficit. December 1st, 2010, Obama and Crew came out and said NO NEW Drilling. Period. For some fictitious 7 year period. He did telegraph this. He TOLD us he was all for high Gas Prices. He TOLD us that our Energy Prices would "Necessarily Skyrocket." under his "Cap and Tax" Bill. Why? Motivation to go "Green."

Big Oil gets blamed for this all the time. They refuse to increase Supply, causing Demand to rise. So what happens when the Ruler of the Biggest Source of Oil and Natural Gas says "No new Drilling. No. We are not going to use OUR own resources?" We will not allow an increase in Supply? Yup. $5.00 a gallon Gas.

Folks, the Federal Government may not want to add in the Cost of Energy and Food. However, in the REAL WORLD, we must. We MUST have Energy and food. It really is that simple. They ARE real necessities, that cost REAL money. They are all about to cost a lot MORE, thanks to Obama and Crew.

Bad Economy, High Energy Costs, Losing Jobs,

What to do what to do?

Hey folks,

Happy Tuesday to you. Seriously, Bad Economy, high Energy Costs and growing higher, losing more and more Jobs? The "Official" number of Unemployment is 9.8 percent, which EVERYONE knows and ADMITS to the fact, it is actually 17 percent. Even some in the Obama Administration. So what to do, what to do?

Well, the LOGICAL and REASONABLE, some would even say the INTELLIGENT thing to do, would be to use our resources and increase Jobs and Supply of Energy to DECREASE Costs and HELP the Economy in the process.

Think about that. It's amazing. Is it not? ONE thing. ONE. Bring down the cost of Energy. Bring down the unemployment number. Or at least ADD somewhere around 57,000 high paying, long lasting, REAL Jobs. Add Billions if not TRILLIONS to the Local and Federal Government Revenue stream. Which would decrease the Deficit? ONE thing. Just ONE could and WOULD do all these things.

So what does the Obama Administration do? The EXACT OPPOSITE! December 1st, 2010, Obama and Crew came out and said NO NEW Drilling. Period. For some fictitious 7 year period. According to Boston.com - White House won’t expand offshore drilling

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration announced yesterday that it had rescinded its decision to expand offshore oil exploration into the eastern Gulf of Mexico and along the Atlantic Coast because of weaknesses in federal regulation revealed by the BP oil spill.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said that a moratorium on drilling would be in force in those areas for at least seven years, until stronger safety and environmental standards were in place. The move puts off limits millions of acres of the Outer Continental Shelf that hold potentially billions of barrels of oil and trillions of cubic feet of natural gas.
And what happened right after this announcement? That's right, the price of Gas started to climb. Now $3.00 a gallon MANY places here in Sunny Florida.

The rest of this story is Gobbledygook. "We are thinking." No they are not. That is part of the problem. "We need to learn." No they are not even interested. They have an Agenda and they are sticking to it. "But we are looking at another potential sites." Complete and Utter BS. They are SAYING they are, but TALK is not going to do much. They will delay ANY new Drilling, or Production, by simply saying that they need to make sure it's safe with this and that study that could tie EVERYTHING up for YEARS to come. Meanwhile YOU will be losing YOUR Job. Paying $4.00 plus a Gallon of Gas. Skyrocketing Electric, Heating Bills, Food Costs, ETC.

Meanwhile China, and OTHER Foreign Government will be Drilling just fine off our shores. No problem with them using OUR resources to create Jobs for THEIR People and Increase THEIR Supply, and lower THEIR Costs. Drilling without falling under the insane Obama Regulations and Controls I might add. Meanwhile WE will have to PAY THEM more to use what WE should be getting for ourselves.

Like $4.00 a gallon? Like Sky High Energy Costs. LIKE Sky High Food Costs? Like High Unemployment? Thank Obama and Vote for him in 2012. This COMPLETELY Asinine decision is just another in a long line of Asinine decisions that depict EXACTLY why he is not fit for the Office of the President of the United States. Either he is completely incompetent, or he is doing this on purpose. Which one do you see as worse?

Oil Prices Going Up Again,

Preview for Sunday 110710

Hey folks,

Yup. It's not your imagination. The Prices are going up at the Pump. According to My Way - Oil above $87 in Asia, at highest since early May Nov 5, 4:23 AM (ET)

BANGKOK (AP) - Oil jumped above $87 a barrel Friday in Asia, reaching its highest since early May, as the Federal Reserve's plan to buy $600 billion of Treasury bonds to stimulate the U.S. economy continued to send a tide of cash into stocks and commodities.

Benchmark crude for December delivery was up 37 cents at $86.86 a barrel at late afternoon Bangkok time in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange after earlier reaching $87.22. The contract climbed $1.80 to settle at $86.49 on Thursday.

The Fed's announcement Wednesday underlined expectations that the dollar would weaken further and push up prices for commodities including oil.

The strength of the dollar and the price of oil are closely linked. The dollar has been getting weaker against other currencies for weeks, ahead of the Fed decision and will probably fall further as more dollars pour into the economy.

So as this Administration continues FAILED policies to attempt to Jump Start the Economy, WE ALL PAY MORE. Couple that with No Drilling, No using our own Resources, and the continued increase in World Wide Demand, we get what we get. More on the Economy a bit later.

Welcome to the Big Sunday Edition of the OPNTalk Blog. Glad you could stop by today. I am of course, your Provocateur of thought, Peter Carlock, and coming right up today?

You know folks, I really hope you get this. 34 American Warships to patrol off Mumbai. Coconuts removed from trees as a precaution. 250 U.S. business Executives with Obama on 'biggest ever trade mission' The ENTIRE Taj Mahal rented out. THOUSANDS of people traveling with Obama. $200 MILLION a day. YOU are paying for this. Do the math folks. $200 MILLION a Day. Ten day trip? You got it. Obama is taking a $2 BILLION Dollar Vacation. On OUR dime. I love this from the UK Daily Mail.
Probably not since the days of the Pharaohs or the more ludicrous Roman Emperors has a head of state travelled in such pomp and expensive grandeur as the President of the United States of America.

While lesser mortals – the Pope, Queen Elizabeth and so on – are usually happy to let their hosts handle most of the security and transport arrangements when they venture beyond their home shores, the United States creates a mini-America on the move to ensure that nothing is left to chance.

As I have said many times, Obama doesn't see himself as President. He SEES himself as King. He wants to be King of the Obamanation. Michelle is loving playing Queen. London Shopping trips and all that. Problem is. WE are paying for it all. While we continue to lose Jobs, Homes, and Hope, the Obamas are playing Royalty. I have Hope for Change. Republicans, get to work FAST.

Be right back.

China Increasing Supply, To Meet Their Growing Demand

Yet America is Reducing it's Supply AGAINST it's Demand.

Hey folks,

Happy Tuesday to you. As we check in at the Energy Front, we see what we were talking about last week is now being reported in the Mainstream Media. On Tuesday, last week, I told you about this. Backdoor Moratorium On Oil and Natural Gas Shale Projects
Well, what about Coal and Shale? They are not effected right? Wrong. This Administration, so beholden to the "Green Energy" Special Interests, and the Environuts, they will stand in the way of this as well. Why, because they are quick to dream, yet slow to think. Some of these Kooks actually BELIEVE that we can get off of Oil and Natural Gas overnight and become "Green" tomorrow. But we have talked about that as well. It simply is not possible, there is nothing to switch to. However, this is not stopping them from imagining, falsely, that if they reduce American produced Oil and Natural Gas Energy, increasing the cost, it will motivate others to come up with a viable solution quicker.

According to Reuters - China overtakes U.S. as biggest energy consumer: IEA
(Reuters) - China has become the world's largest energy user, having overtaken the United States, the head of the International Energy Agency said on Tuesday.

"China is now the largest energy consumer by our definition," the executive director of the Paris-based IEA, Nobuo Tanaka, told an industry conference.

"Probably half of the oil demand increase comes from China. Nobody knows when it (will) slow down."

The IEA advises 28 developed countries. China is not a part of the IEA but the agency monitors the country as its oil demand can have a significant impact on prices.
Energy Policy: The administration lifts the Gulf drilling moratorium in time for the election, but it's not as good as it sounds. Meanwhile, China buys up Texas oil land to develop the energy reserves we won't.

The lifting of the Gulf drilling ban imposed after the explosion of British Petroleum's Macondo well came as welcome news. But like anything this administration does, one must read the fine print.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced that the ban was being lifted before its Nov. 30 target because of the "the higher standards we have set" for drillers applying for new permits.

However, the placement of further drilling restrictions by an administration openly hostile to the use of fossil fuels and domestic energy development does not bode well.
Told you this was PURELY Political, and does NOTHING. Senator David Vitter, R-La., echoed me.
"I guess this is movement in the right direction," added Sen. David Vitter, R-La., "but it's painfully slow. It's clear that President Obama is going to preside over a continuing de facto moratorium for months or years, with new drilling held back to a fraction of previous levels."
Yup. It doesn't say who wrote this, but the person sounds just like ME. {Smile} Like this.
While we dawdle, state-owned Chinese energy giant CNOOC is buying a multibillion-dollar stake in 600,000 acres of South Texas oil and gas fields. CNOOC announced Monday that it would pay up to $2.2 billion for a one-third stake in Chesapeake Energy assets.
They wrap it up with this.
From the Chinese perspective, this is a golden opportunity for them," said Ken Medlock, a fellow at Houston's Baker Institute and adjunct professor in Rice University's economics department. "They have identified shale resources in China, but they don't have the knowledge or technical expertise to go after those resources."

So we'll provide them with the technology to develop their oil resources at the same time we restrict our own exploration and development.
So they have an INCREASE in Demand, THEY look for ways to INCREASE their Supply. We have an Administration who is purposefully DECREASING Supply, in the HOPES that the INCREASE in Demand will somehow INCREASE Alternative Energy Supply. Meanwhile in the REAL World, China, and others to follow, profit from American Resources, at the expense of Americans. Just another reason we need to bring SANITY back to Government.

Moratorium De Facto Still In Place.

Of course it is Politics. It always HAS been Politics.

Hey folks,

In a special Thursday Edition of the From the Emails, AND the From the Energy Front Segments, we learn that Obama, in the hopes of picking up some Votes, lifted his completely useless Drilling Moratorium in the Gulf. But did he really? No.

"Another example of what you have been saying. Real life as opposed to the abstract. Not to mention, the ban being lifted right before the Nov. elections? Politics?"

That's right. It is now, and always has been all about Politics. There was no need nor reason for the Ban, and as the Heritage Foundation points out, it cost us PLENTY, and will continue to be in place by the lack of issuing new Permits. Here is the link.

The Heritage Foundation - Morning Bell: The Oil Drilling Moratorium Doesn’t End Till the Permits Begin Posted October 13th, 2010 at 9:22am

The White House got the headlines they wanted today. The Washington Post: U.S Lifts Ban on Deep-Water Drilling. The Los Angeles Times: U.S. Lifts Moratorium on Deep-Water Drilling in Gulf of Mexico. The New York Times: White House Lifts Ban on Deepwater Drilling. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar told reporters on a conference call yesterday: “We are open for business.”

Don’t believe the White House or Salazar for a second. While yesterday’s announcement does remove one legal barrier to the resumption of energy investment in the Gulf, the Obama administration still retains full discretion over whether or not any new permits will be issued. And all indications are that those new permits will not be coming any time soon.

Since President Barack Obama first banned drilling for gas and oil in the Gulf in May, about 36 rigs in the Gulf of Mexico have been put out of work, five rigs have left for Egypt and other parts of Africa, and 12,000 jobs have been lost. If the ban stays in place, the long-term and indirect economic losses will cost more than 175,000 jobs. The problem with President Obama’s new drilling policy, as with all of his economic policies, is the uncertainty it inflicts on our nation’s job creators. Louisiana State University professor Joseph Mason tells The Christian Science Monitor that “uncertain policy decisions” are making it difficult for rig operators to plan for the future. Referring to the rig operators, Mason continued, “and when they can’t plan around it, they move.” And by “move” Mason means taking jobs and energy overseas. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) echoed this verdict:

"Today’s decision is a good start, but it must be accompanied by an action plan to get the entire industry in the Gulf of Mexico back to work. This means that the administration must continue to accelerate the granting of permits in shallow and deep water, and provide greater certainty about the rules and regulations industry must meet."

As Sen. Landrieu’s statement alludes to, President Obama’s legal ban on deepwater projects has also meant a de facto ban on all energy investment in the Gulf. Since the April 20 Deepwater Horizon spill, Interior has issued only 10% of shallow water permits that they normally do.

Institute for Energy Research senior vice president Dan Kish tells Politico: “I don’t know what business can run at 10 percent of what it normally does.” Pressed for details on when Interior will actually start issuing new permits, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Regulation and Enforcement director Michael Bromwich told reporters: “It will clearly not be tomorrow and it will not be next week. My sense is we will have permits approved by the end of the year, but how much before the end of the year I can’t say and how many before the end of the year I can’t say.”

Energy companies who want to wait for the Obama administration to allow oil and gas investment to begin again do so at their own peril. As The Washington Post details today, White House policy on drilling in the Gulf is driven by politics, not science. And the President’s political views on domestic oil and gas development are clear. In 2004, then-Senate candidate Obama told the League of Conservation Voters: “I believe that existing policies are imbalanced in favor of new and increased [oil and gas] extraction. . . . Reduced energy demand would eliminate the need for new production on federal public lands, and I would oppose such production in any event.”

So there you have it. President Obama’s preferred policy is reduced energy demand, and even if he can’t accomplish that, he still would oppose the development of our country’s energy resources. Ken Tanguis of Houma, Louisiana, had been a mechanic for Diamond Offshore Drilling for most of his life. But since President Obama instituted his drilling ban, Diamond has laid off more than 300 workers, and now Tanguis only works three weeks on and three weeks off. Tanguis told NPR: “I don’t want a handout from the government. I don’t want a handout from BP. I don’t want anything. I just want to go back to work. I want to go back to drilling.” The only thing standing between Tanguis and a job is President Obama’s de facto drilling ban. We hope the President allows Ken to go back to work soon.
What you may see here is a sudden rush on some permits to give the APPEARENCE that Obama cares about the Jobs aspect and Energy, I doubt it, but it is possible. But the truth is, just like we talked about Tuesday, as with Shale, Obama doesn't have to put in place an actual Ban, just make it cost preventive to do it. Create too many hoops to jump through right from the get go.

Don't be fooled by this purely Political move on the part of Obama and Crew. If they retain power, they will simply continue the course they are on, in the limiting of Drilling and Energy Production in the interest of furthering their agenda. He may want you to think he cares about the Energy Industry, right before an Election, but we already know how he really feels. He has come right out and told us, many times.

Backdoor Moratorium On Oil and Natural Gas Shale Projects

This is how they are doing it.

Hey folks,

We have talked in length about the Off Shore Drilling Moratorium. We have talked about how some of the Rigs have already left, and how some more are getting ready to follow taking American Jobs with them. We have already talked about the financial impact of this completely pointless move by this Administration.

Again, this will not stop Drilling, nor protect ANYTHING. Other Countries are still Drilling and INCREASING their productivity and Profit, at the expense of ALL Americans.

What about shallow water? Well, there is a Moratorium on that as well. Not a stated one, but due to the hurdles and the obscene Regulations and Taxation, new Permits have all but ceased.

Here is one of their problems. They can not come right out and Ban Shale Projects. There has been no "Man-Made Disasters" Accidents, nor any reasons real or imaginary, that they can point to and say, "See, this is why we must regulate it, or Ban the practice all together." So what do they do? They make it unaffordable for US companies to go into this endeavor to begin with.

Remember what Obama said about the Coal Industry?

That's right. He was BRAGGING about Bankrupting the Coal Industry. Put them out of business through Tax and Regulation. It's like saying, "Yeah, you can do this or that, just give me your First Born." No one is going to be able to do that. So it matters NOT that Obama is "allowing" something, if he is making it impossible for you to do it.

So what do we have NOW? The DREAM that is Alternative Energy. A "Greener Planet" that will be a Utopia. No Oil. Just Wind, uh, I mean Solar,,Uh, no wait, Uh, I mean Electric, no, uh, PEANUT BUTTER!!!! Oh never mind. Just trust us. We need to stop using Oil. We need Alternatives. So we stop using Oil, we can start using Alternatives sooner. IF no one can get around, heat their homes, and well, do much of anything, then they will be forced to find another way fast. {Sigh}

Here is a CRYSTAL CLEAR, real life example of what Obama is talking about. I know, I know, this piece in the Washington Post is a little Wonky for some out there, but there is one line that brings it to clear understanding of the type of tactic that Obama TOLD us he would use.

This is talking about how Chesapeake Energy entered a deal for a Shale Project in Texas with a Chinese oil company.

The China National Offshore Oil Corp. will pay Chesapeake Energy $2.2 billion for a one-third interest in a South Texas oil and natural gas shale project and will pay billions of dollars more for its share of development costs over the next several years.
So this means this. One third less AMERICAN Jobs. One third less Profit. One third less PRODUCT. That means, one third MORE Product that we have to pay for to a foreign Government, for something that should be ours to begin with. Why?

There is one sentence that brings this whole thing into simplistic understanding.

Given the cost of development, many independent companies such as Chesapeake have been looking overseas for investors.
Translation, the hoops that companies have to jump through to produce is becoming unaffordable.

Chesapeake has been seeking to raise money to help develop its extensive inventory of oil and gas acreage. The company has also been trying to pare its debt, which peaked at about 60 percent of the company's book value and which on Sept. 30 stood at about 42 percent. McClendon said the company's target was in the 30s.
Now this is a good deal for them and us, to a point. It WILL create 20,000 jobs and Tax Revenues for all levels of Government,. However, CHINA will control one third of the project. Imagine if we were allowed to do this without Foreign Investors? Imagine if we let the Energy Companies DO what they do best. Produce that of which we need, at a cost that is affordable to all. Without this foreign investment, this AMERICAN Company would have to close up or go elsewhere.

What we need in this country, are policies that REWARD American Companies that do what they do best. We need AMERICAN Companies producing Jobs, Affordable Energy for all, and Tax Revenue to our Governments, both Local and Federal.

Dream the Dream, but live in Reality. Work towards "Green" while producing what we NEED now. Stop the NEED of American Companies from going elsewhere to offset their costs to do what they do. Produce FOR America. Produce for AMERICANS, everywhere.

U.S. Offshore Drilling Moratorium Not About Safty

If it were, ALL Drilling should be stopped.

Hey folks,

It's Tuesday, let's check in at the Energy Front.

Obama's pointless, and completely insane Drilling Moratorium, that is due to expire November 30, 2010, is doing nothing to "save us" from the possibility of another "Man-Made Disaster." NOTHING. Yet some in Congress want to extend it further.

What HAS it done? What could it do if continued? It could cost 19,500 jobs, which is 40 to 60 percent higher than Administration estimates. It could cost $5 billion in Economic activity, at a time when our Economy is already in ruins. As for States? It could cost nearly $240 million in State and local Tax revenues. Five of 33 Gulf Deepwater rigs have left or are departing for Foreign Oilfields, taking American jobs with them. More are about to follow if this insanity continues.

"But Pete, it's about safety." No it really isn't. You see, the only ones that have stopped Drilling is US. According to the Canadian Free Press - U.S. Imposes Offshore Drilling Moratorium, but Other Countries Fail to Follow By Institute for Energy Research Friday, October 1, 2010

The Gulf Coast oil spill of April 20, 2010 caused the Obama administration to take some drastic measures, in order to prove to the nation that it was handling the emergency better than the Bush administration handled 2005’s Hurricane Katrina. Those drastic measures include a 6-month moratorium on offshore drilling (set to end November 30, 2010), a panel of “experts” to determine the cause of the spill, and new rules from the Department of Interior to minimize the harm of a future oil spill. But how are other countries responding to the U.S. disaster? Offshore drilling continues in Europe, with no changes thus far to the rules. China is investing in all sorts of oil ventures that include drilling offshore from numerous countries; it is even negotiating with Cuba for drilling rights near the Florida coast. Mexico continues to drill offshore with our support. And the United States is lending Brazil $2 billion to explore off its coast, where experts believe 30 billion barrels of oil awaits discovery and production.
Those new rules only apply to US controlled Companies. Even if others are Drilling off our coasts.

Europe

Germany proposed a ban on deep-sea offshore oil drilling at a meeting of the OSPAR commission, a group through which the European Union and 15 countries that have coastlines off Europe cooperate to protect the environment of the North-East Atlantic. But Norway, Denmark, and Britain—the region’s oil-producing countries—quickly nixed the proposal, postponing the issue to January, when President Obama is expected to report on the findings of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig investigation.
Which I'm sure is going to be inconclusive at best, but most likely say whatever the Administration WANTS it to say.

China

Whatever the United States does, the outlook for offshore drilling remains excellent, inasmuch as the industrialized world, especially China, will need more oil as the global economy improves. In 2009, China consumed about 5 million barrels of oil per day—more oil than it produced—and it is looking to find supplies elsewhere. China has spent nearly $200 billion on oil deals during the past few years, joining with more than 19 countries—including Russia, Turkmenistan, Kuwait, Yemen, Libya, Angola, Venezuela, and Brazil—and paying for exploration, production, and infrastructure construction, as well as extending “loans for energy." Recently, China’s Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Company agreed to buy, for $4.65 billion, the 9 percent interest that ConocoPhillips holds in Syncrude, a Canadian business involved in the production of oil sands (an asphalt-like heavy oil). Canada is currently the number one supplier of crude oil imports to the United States, but U.S. proposals to limit carbon in transportation fuels could make Canada seek markets elsewhere, as this deal with China demonstrates.

At home, the Chinese government is allowing Chevron and BP access to drill in deep waters in the South China Sea, after attempts decades ago to drill in its shallow waters turned up dry wells. The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has not deterred the Chinese government from allowing BP to participate in drilling off its coast.

Cuba

Cuba’s current production of about 60,000 barrels per day is from onshore wells. But Cuba is planning to drill seven test wells in the Gulf of Mexico during 2011 and 2012. A consortium of companies from Spain, Norway, and India is planning to drill at least one well early next year using a Chinese-built rig owned by a unit of the Italian oil company Eni, and Malaysia’s Petronas is planning to use the same rig off Cuba. Cuba has leased 21 of the 59 blocks it owns in the Gulf of Mexico to seven companies. Besides the five foreign companies mentioned above, Venezuela’s state oil company (PDVSA) is also planning to drill an exploratory well next year, and companies from Vietnam and Brazil have also leased blocks. Companies from Russia, China, and Angola are negotiating exploration rights. Cubapetroeo, Cuba’s oil company, estimates that Cuba has up to 20 billion barrels of oil in its offshore areas, although the U.S. Geological Survey estimates the amount to be only 4.6 billion barrels. Of special interest to the United States is that some of this drilling will be within 40 miles of the coast of Key West, Florida.
Yup. Off OUR coast. So how is the Obama posed US Drilling Moratorium going to keep us safe from the "Evils of Drilling?" Others are Drilling off OUR coasts. Others that Obama and Crew have no say over.

Brazil

Recent estimates have Brazil’s total estimated barrels of oil equivalent at greater than 30 billion. Probably the largest oil find in more than 20 years is the Tupi offshore oil field, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Tupi is in ultra-deep water, below a 2,000 meter-thick layer of salt, which only the most advanced–and expensive–drilling rigs can penetrate. The field contains at least 5 to 8 billion barrels of recoverable oil. In March 2009, Brazil’s Energy Minister said the country would need $270 billion over 10 years to develop its deepwater reserves. Petrobas, the semi-private Brazilian company that controls most of the rights to drilling at Tupi, just raised $70 billion dollars in the world’s largest share offer to help finance its expansion plans and to help pay down its debt. Last year, it borrowed a record $30 billion, including debt issues, bank loans, and an oil-for-loan deal with the China Development Bank.

The China Development Bank agreed to lend $10 billion to Petrobas in exchange for increased oil exports. Petrobas and Sinopec (the China Petroleum & Chemical Company) signed a long-term agreement for Petrobas to export 200,000 barrels of oil per day to China between 2010 and 2019. The Export-Import Bank of the United States, a federal bank of the U.S. government, whose mission is to “assist in the financing of U.S. goods and services to international markets,” issued a $2 billion loan to Petrobas for offshore exploration and development—with the approval of Ex-Im’s bipartisan board. The majority of the Export-Import Bank’s financing comes from loans from commercial lenders.

Mexico

Last year, the Export-Import Bank of the United States provided Pemex, Mexico’s state-run oil company, with about $1 billion in direct loans for development of new projects of Pemex Exploration and Production and the Cantarell offshore oil fields located in the Bay of Campeche, about 100 kilometers off the Yucatan Peninsula in the Gulf of Mexico. Pemex is the largest borrower of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, having borrowed $8.3 billion between 1998 and April 2009 for oil and gas exploration, development, and processing projects. In 2009, Mexico was the second largest supplier of oil imports to the United States, behind only Canada.[xvi]

Conclusion

Countries with offshore oil resources do not intend to follow the lead of the United States in imposing a moratorium on offshore drilling nor are they slowing progress towards exploration and development of offshore oil resources in the Gulf of Mexico and elsewhere. The United States is awaiting results from its panel of “experts” and new rules from its Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement in the Department of Interior, issued today, to see what hoops the oil industry will need to jump through in order to resume drilling. The new rules include provisions on workplace and drilling safety, with no date for the termination of the moratorium. According to Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Department of the Interior, “Under these new rules, operators will need to comply with tougher requirements for everything from well design and cementing practices to blowout preventers and employee training.”
Again, US controlled Companies ONLY. Kind of like why so many Businesses take their operations over seas, they can't afford to operate here in the US. Obama will force, even AFTER the Moratorium is lifted, Drilling Companies to go elsewhere where they CAN afford to operate without the oppressive Rules and Taxes impose by an agenda driven, out of control Government. They will go where others WANT them, and give them the Jobs, Tax Revenues, and Oil. Us? Well, we will have to buy it.

The newly appointed Director of the Interior’s regulatory agency, Michael Bromwich, doesn’t think much drilling will be evident even a month after the moratorium is lifted. Although the moratorium does not affect shallow-water drilling, permitting of those projects has been slowed by the Department of Interior because of new safety requirements and approvals by the federal government, which is probably also the Interior’s agenda for deep water projects.
So basically, WE are the only ones not Drilling. We are the only ones that will be effected by Obama and Crew. Sad think is, just like the rest of the decisions they are making, we here in the in the US, will be the ones paying the price.

Obama's Dream, America's Reality

The Green Dream is a Nightmare for many.

Hey folks,

Simply put, Obama lives in a land of concept, and ideas. He shares in the "Green Dream" that so many others on the more Liberal side truly desire. However, as with many Liberal Ideologies, the REALITY of the concept is nothing like the Dream.

The Dream, no more Oil at all. Reality? There is NOTHING to switch to. So in other words, welcome high Gas Prices so that it will speed up "The search for, and creation of, Green Alternatives." Reality? The Single Mom working two jobs can no longer afford to buy Gas to go to work. Reality? A Senior Citizen now has to chose to heat their Home or buy Food. The Dream? Place a Drilling Moratorium in place to protect us from any more "Deep Horizon Type" of accidents. Reality, one, ONE type of accident of this nature in over 65 years. Two, even if WE are not Drilling, OTHERS still are. In fact, the Government is loaning a Billion Dollars to Mexico to drill in the very waters where American Companies and workers have been banned.

So you see the truth and Reality of the situation, like so many things on the left, do not match the DREAM of the Left. Lets say that the Drilling Moratorium IS to protect us. How is banning US, yet paying OTHERS keeping us safe? Not only are we losing the money from the lack of Drilling, we are losing JOBS! We are PAYING Billions more, to others, to do what we could and should be doing ourselves.

So, the Drilling Ban will increase costs a bit. But we will get to Green quicker? No. But that is not even the REAL cost. The REAL cost is Jobs. People. REAL People. Not concepts or Ideals. REAL People. Here are some of them now.

The point is, REAL People are out of work. People with families. People who are consumers in this flagging Economy. Can't consume if you have no Job. Well, there is someone trying to do something about this. API has held Job Rallies across the Country. They have hit Five States but want YOU to be part of it. They decided that they wanted to make it possible for Americans everywhere to share their stories.

Therefore, beginning yesterday, and lasting through the rest of this week, (September 20-24) they've made it possible for thousands more Americans to join the cause in a Virtual March on Washington for Jobs and Economic Prosperity. If you were unable to attend any of the rallies in person, yet still want to be a part of it, this is a GREAT way you can get your Voice heard.

Simply click here to get started. You can take part in the virtual march on the National Mall, listen to speakers discuss the need for sound Energy Policies and Job Creation, send letters to Members of Congress, voice support through Facebook and Twitter and upload personal photos and videos.

Simply put, help make sure that the Dream, the Nightmare for so many, ends, and we can get back to work. The People can get back to work. They can start adding to the Economy once again. The Government can start collecting their share, which again, will help the Economy, and ensure that Energy costs remain reasonable. While your at it, tell Congress and the President that not only do we need to go back to work, we need to Drill MORE, Here, and NOW. More Jobs. More money to the Government, LESS Prices of Energy. Tell them, if you do, that you SHARE their "Green Dream" Yet, YOU live in Reality. Once the Dream becomes a VIABLE Reality, you will be more than happy to switch. But for now, we need to rely on what we NEED.
