Job Creation? Government? Get Out of The Way

The GOP Plan for Job Growth

Hey folks,

It's kind of funny. I was talking to a friend of my VIA Emails last night and I predicted that BG would send me a Comment or question about the Obama Announcement that he was releasing some of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, I asked our good friend over at API about this and I am awaiting an answer. This is pointless and the timing is, well, puzzling. But I will talk more about this on Sunday BG.

But since it IS Friday, TIME to go to the Emails. Hi how are ya? How are you doing? Do you like your Job? Do you HAVE a Job? With Record High Unemployment continuing, and an Election coming up, this Administration continues to talk about Job Creation.

However, that is ALL they are doing. Talking. No plan. No idea. No apologies for the fact THEY are to blame for a lot of this. All they want to do is SPEND more. We do not have what we are spending NOW, and none of their out of control spending has worked. No "Shovel Ready Jobs." No Jobs PERIOD.

So SB said this.

"It seems to me to be an easy solution. Like Reagan said. 'Government is not the solution to our problem government IS the problem.' Business do not know what to do about Healthcare, what taxes are going up, the future costs due to a lack of an energy policy, so on. Over regulation and oppressive taxation will not create jobs. I like the gop plan. What do you think."

Hey SB. I agree. And I LOVE that. "Over Regulation and oppressive Taxation will not create Jobs." You are of course 100 percent right about that. I like the GOP Plan also. Here is a piece from Speaker of the House, Rep. John Boehner (R., Ohio) who wrote in the National Review Online - ‘Recovery Summer,’ One Year Later June 17, 2011 4:00 A.M.

A Republican blueprint for job growth

One year ago today, the Obama administration launched its “Recovery Summer” publicity tour to bolster flagging support for the “stimulus.” Vice President Biden said, “The fact is, the recovery act is working.” But the fact is, it didn’t. “Recovery Summer” fizzled, much like the “stimulus” itself.

Republicans have a real blueprint for job creation — the “Plan for America’s Job Creators.” What makes our plan different is that it focuses on one thing: removing government barriers to private-sector job growth.

The “stimulus” was all about big spending and big government — not jobs. That was obvious on the day the “Recovery Summer” began in my home state of Ohio. Local construction workers on a nearby site in Columbus were forced to take the day off, without pay, so the White House entourage could roll through and tout all the taxpayer dollars they were spending. But all that spending got us was more debt and fewer jobs.

Approximately 1.5 million jobs have been lost since the “stimulus” was signed in 2009 — roughly 300,000 of them as administration officials hopped from town to town promoting the “summer of recovery.” The national unemployment rate was 9.1 percent in May — far above the 8 percent promised by the White House — and has averaged 9.5 percent throughout the Obama presidency.

The president can call this a “bump in the road,” or blame ATMs, or joke that those “shovel ready” jobs that were promised “weren’t as shovel ready as we expected.” But there’s nothing funny about policies that keep workers on the unemployment line and drive us deeper into debt. Those aren’t the kinds of results — and this isn’t the recovery — the American people deserve.

To be fair, there are some positive economic signs in Ohio today, in part because the Buckeye State now has a governor, John Kasich, who is working to remove the barriers that have held back our state economy. But we need that same kind of leadership in Washington.

That’s why, from the moment the American people entrusted us with the majority in the House of Representatives, Republicans have been focused on one thing: jobs.

Our new plan builds on our Pledge to America and the efforts we’ve undertaken all year to liberate our economy from the shackles of debt and big government.

First, our plan would rein in excessive regulatory burdens and red tape that make it harder for small businesses to hire new workers. According to the Small Business Administration, smaller firms spend as much as $10,585 per employee complying with federal regulations. Massive laws such as Obamacare have made things worse by driving up health-care costs and threatening jobs.

We’ve already repealed the devastating small-business paperwork mandates included in the health-care law, and we’re working to repeal and defund the whole thing. Another bill — the REINS Act — would require congressional approval for any federal regulation with a major economic impact.

Our plan would expand American energy production to help create jobs and lower gas prices. The House has already passed the Energy Tax Prevention Act to stop the EPA from imposing a “cap and trade” national energy tax that would destroy jobs and drive up prices. And we’ve approved several bills to expand production and end the administration’s de facto moratorium on offshore energy.

Our plan would pay down America’s debt over time by stopping Washington from spending money it doesn’t have and preventing tax hikes on families and small businesses. The House has passed a budget that would cut more than $6 trillion in government spending, spur private-sector job growth, and save Medicare for current and future retirees. Senate Democrats still haven’t passed a budget, and the president’s plan for Medicare is to let it go bankrupt.

Our plan would reform the tax code to make America more competitive, closing loopholes and lowering rates. And our plan would open new markets for American-made goods by passing the three job-creating trade agreements that are now before Congress — those with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea. Every day these agreements are delayed, Ohio farmers and manufacturers lose out to competitors in other countries. We need to act now.

The anniversary of President Obama’s “Recovery Summer” publicity stunt is a good reminder that families and small businesses in Ohio and across the country can’t afford more spending and more debt — they need more jobs. And Republicans are listening.

The Republican plan — reining in excessive regulations, expanding energy production, paying down our debt, fixing our tax code, and opening new markets for American-made goods — is a serious blueprint for private-sector job creation and long-term economic growth.

— Rep. John Boehner (R., Ohio) is Speaker of the House
Again, here is the Link: National Review Online - ‘Recovery Summer,’ One Year Later

Folks, this can be summed up in SIX Words. Get Government out of the way. Let America BE America again. Look at what he talks about here. Lifting a lot of the Government Oppressive Regulations and Red Tape. Repealing Obamacare. Lowering Taxes. Making the Tax Code more simple. Expanding Energy. All these things have one thing in common. Government is standing in the way. Get Government out of the way, and let the Private Sector WORK. Let the PEOPLE bring our Economy back. The PEOPLE that actually DRIVE the Economy.

So yes, in short. I LOVE the Plan. Let's hope they stick to it in 2012 when they win the Senate and the White House.

Have a GREAT Weekend folks, see you Sunday.

Dupnik Faces Ouster, GOP Continue to Listen to the People

He NEEDS to leave.

Hey folks,

Welcome to the Big Sunday Edition of the OPNTalk Blog. Glad you stopped by. Yes. Baby Eli and Mom are home safe and sound, and I have been enjoying the past Week with my new Son. Well, all my family. But I'm also glad to be back in the Chair.

You all know the story. We have this Horrific Shooting in Arizona, and this Idiot, a half an hour after the shooting comes out and tries to link Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, Talk Radio, and Fox News, to this Murder and attempted Assassination on a Congresswoman. I said this about him.

Yes, our Idiot is NOT a true Law Enforcement Official. He is allowing his HATE and his Political views to cloud his Judgement. He is a Fame seeking Moron, that while he is playing Politician, he is IGNORING the REAL FACTS in this case. He needs to leave Office.
Looks like I'm not the only one that wants this guy out. According to The Washington Times - Outspoken Tucson sheriff faces recall bid By Valerie Richardson

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has never lost an election, but that was before his remarks assigning blame for the deadly Tucson, Ariz., shooting to political "vitriol" and calling Arizona "a mecca for prejudice and bigotry."

Now it's Sheriff Dupnik who finds himself on the public-opinion hot seat. A group opposed to illegal immigration has begun an effort to recall the sheriff in a special election. Meanwhile, a Pima County tea party group is planning on holding a "Dump Dupnik" rally next week outside his office.

"I haven't been a fan of Dupnik's for a long time, but this really was the straw that broke the camel's back," said Tom Rompel, co-owner of Black Weapons Armory in Tucson. "He's law enforcement. We expect 'the facts, ma'am,' not his opinion. He leans far left, always has, and frankly, people have had enough."
I wish you all luck in getting this guy out. He is a joke that needs to leave. He obviously can't do his job.

New Majority Keeps Pledge to Focus on Jobs & Ending the Job-Crushing D.C. Spending Binge Posted by Speaker Boehner Press Office on January 21, 2011

This week, the new House majority continued working to keep its Pledge to America to focus on removing barriers to job creation and ending Washington’s job-crushing spending binge. Here’s a look:

Removing Barriers to Job Growth & Ending the Job-Crushing Spending Binge

The House voted this week to repeal the job-destroying health care law and then took action to begin replacing it with common-sense reforms that will lower costs and protect jobs. More than half the states are now challenging ObamaCare in court. And job creators, economists, and state legislators representing millions of taxpayers have all spoken out in recent days in support of scrapping the law and starting over.

Rep. Geoff Davis (R-KY) introduced the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act to rein in job-stifling red tape that’s causing uncertainty for job creators. The bill would require an up-or-down vote by Congress on major federal rules and regulations – written by unelected bureaucrats – that have an economic impact of at least $100 million.

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) has been selected to deliver the Republican address to the nation following President Obama's State of the Union speech on January 25. Chairman Ryan will lead a critical effort in the House this year to stop the job-crushing spending binge in DC and cut spending back to pre-“stimulus,” pre-bailout levels.

Every dollar counts, and the House has already begun replacing Congress’ culture of spending with a culture of saving – first by cutting its budget, and then by saving taxpayers millions of dollars by eliminating needless paper copies of legislation. These were just the first of many spending cuts to come.

The speaker also employed the “#hcrcostsjobs” hashtag on Twitter to draw emphasis to the health care law’s devastating impact on families and small businesses.

For more on what’s to come in the weeks ahead, take a look at the Pledge to America. As Speaker Boehner has vowed: “the Pledge is the plan.” Read more here.

As we’ve noted, our goal is to keep improving these emails in the weeks ahead so please contact us here if you have ideas on how we can make them more useful. Thank you again and have a great weekend.

Politics Set Aside, The Right Thing To Do

Too bad some on the Left is not doing the same.

Hey folks,

Welcome to the Big Sunday Edition of the OPNTalk Blog. Normally I would wish everyone a Happy Sunday. It's not a Happy Sunday. Normally, I would introduce myself, and let you know where you can find me elsewhere. You know who this is, you know where to find me. I'll simply post the links. Facebook, Twitter, Tom Sullivan Radio Listener's Club, Email - opntalk@gmail.com.

I've been following this horrifying Shooting Spree in Arizona pretty much since it happening yesterday morning. It has really effected me and my heart is going out to all involved. More on that in a second. Coming right up today?

Yes, the show must go on as they say. Since some on the Left will NOT be putting politics aside, some blaming Sarah Palin, some blaming the Tea Party, some blaming Obacare, some the REPEAL attempt of Obamacare. Some on the Left, according to a good Friend of mine in the know, say that they are debating who will take her place if she passes.

Those on the Right? According to Reuters - Healthcare vote postponed due to shooting: Cantor
(Reuters) - The House of Representatives will postpone next week's vote to repeal President Barack Obama's healthcare reform legislation due to the shooting of Democratic Representative Gabrielle Giffords, House Republican Leader Eric Cantor said on Saturday.

"All legislation currently scheduled to be considered by the House of Representatives next week is being postponed so that we can take whatever actions may be necessary in light of today's tragedy," Cantor said in a prepared statement.

Giffords had received threats for her support of the healthcare reform bill and her office in Tucson was vandalized after the measure passed Congress last March.

Repeal of the law is a priority of Republicans who won control of the House in November elections, and it is expected to pass the House easily when the vote takes place.

The effort is not expected to advance in the Democratic-controlled Senate, however.

Cantor said he would release a revised House schedule on Sunday.

"It is horrifying that she was exposed to such violence at an event designed to reach the people she represents," Cantor said.
So it's not just repeal of Obamacare, but ALL Legislation currently scheduled to be considered by the House of Representatives next week is being postponed. Those on the Right want to know the FACTS. We want to know who he was working with. We want to know what his motives was. The Left? Playing Politics as usual. OK. As they say, the Show must go on.There is other news out there. But I assure you this. I will update WHENEVER new information becomes available.

This IS a terrible tragedy. And questions need answering. But one thing is for sure, Life goes on, and we will get back to business at hand as soon as we can. We STILL need to take this Country back from the Liberal Democrats that have declared it unjust and in need of complete destruction, in the hope to remake it into something it should never be. This guy seems to be a loose screw, and possibly a Patsy. But he does NOT represent true American Patriots that will do anything within the LAW, at the Voting Booth, through Phone calls and Emails, and the encouragement of newly Elected Officials to do the Right thing.

I'll be right back.
Peter

Lets Hope They Continue To Stand Strong

As I said, LISTEN to the People, help in on it's way in 2012

Hey folks,

You want to know if the Liberals are Scared of the New House? All those "Teabaggers" in there. Senator Reid sent the New Speaker of the House, Senator John Boehner (R - OH). He said "Do not attempt to repeal Obamacare. Don't you even dare. It's a waste of time. It will not work. We will NEVER Vote for it in the Senate."

Well, Speaker Boehner sent a message back. Basically he said "Forget you. We are listening to the American People." According to The Hill.com - Boehner fires back at Dem senators with vow to push forward with repeal By Michael O'Brien - 01/04/11 02:27 PM ET

Incoming House Speaker John Boehner's office (R-Ohio) pointedly vowed on Tuesday to push ahead with legislation repealing healthcare reform.

Boehner's office responded to a letter sent by the Senate's top five Democrats, vowing to block a House bill repealing healthcare reform, with a terse, 65-word note.

Boehner's office wrote:

Senators Reid, Durbin, Schumer, Murray and Stabenow:

Thank you for reminding us – and the American people – of the backroom deal that you struck behind closed doors with ‘Big Pharma,’ resulting in bigger profits for the drug companies, and higher prescription drug costs for 33 million seniors enrolled in Medicare Part D, at a cost to the taxpayers of $42.6 billion.

The House is going to pass legislation to repeal that now. You’re welcome.

- Speaker-Designate John Boehner’s Press Office

The note comes in response to a letter released on Monday by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's (D-Nev.) office, in which the Democrats promise to block a bill repealing benefits within the healthcare law.

Boehner's response is a sign that the incoming GOP House has little interest in backing off their promise to repeal (or at least chip away) at the healthcare bill.

It's also indicative of what could be a series of battles between the Republican-held House and the Democratic-controlled Senate over the next two years.
I hope so. I do truly hope so. Repeal, repeal, repeal. Do it over and over again. Let the Liberals Block it. Let Obama Veto it. But DO it.

You know what they are really afraid of? The Republicans, the "Teabaggers" control the purse strings. They can decide to fund or DE-fund anything they want. If they can't get passed or repealed that of which they want, they can play dirty. You know, just like the Liberal Loons. They can simply cut off all funding to it. Rendering it dead.

Do you remember how nasty and arrogant the Liberal Loons have been since 2006? They hyped it into overdrive in 2008. Now they are afraid it's "coming home to roost." I sure HOPE SO! I sure hope that the Republicans ARE as Arrogant and condensation to the Liberals as they were to the People. Because to them, listing to the People IS offensive and stupid. The PEOPLE are stupid, and in their mind, the PEOPLE need to be controlled. To them, Freedom is the Arrogance of the Ignorant. A Free People have no need of a Master. Keep it up Speaker John Boehner. And to those TEA PARTY Conservatives, stay strong, committed, and Right. We ARE with you. Make us proud.

IWA For Sunday 102410

She is delusional.

Hey folks,

I'm sorry, but as we wrap things up with the Idiot of the Week, there are few words to describe this. According to Newsmax.com - Pelosi Says She'll Remain House Speaker
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may need a reality check. She said on the Charlie Rose show Wednesday that she expects Democrats to maintain control of the House and re-elect her as speaker, The Hill reports.

"I have every anticipation that we'll come together in a similar format as we are now, with me as speaker of the House," Pelosi says. Most political analysts say the Democrats have only a slim chance of keeping a majority in the House. And several incumbent Democrats already have vowed to vote against re-electing their California colleague should the party be able to do so.

A new Gallup poll indicates that many voters would be happy to see Pelosi go too. Only 29 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of her, down from 36 percent in May and the lowest rating since she became speaker in 2007, the survey shows.

There really are few words to describe this. We already know she is delusional, but REALLY? This goes to show that these folks in Government really do live in a bubble, FAR disconnected with the American People. Time to burst their bubble folks. Time to burst their bubble.

Have a great rest of Weekend. See you soon.

FISA Update

Hey folks,

I just posted this Friday “From The Emails” segment. I said this.

“It's FRIDAY. Time to go to the Emails. This week, I got a lot about the Global Warming bunk, I may touch on some of these this Weekend. But this one needs to be brought back to the forefront of peoples' minds. The mass media have all but forgotten about this. Even the usual Radio suspects have all but forgotten about this. No one seems to want to talk about this. Right now the big news, that is getting bigger, is the Hooker that brought down Spitzer. She has had over a million hits on her blog in 24 hours. She has two songs for sale on line, .98 cents a piece, over a million downloads. She will become more famous than Monica Lewinsky. Mark my words folks.

However, THIS is way more import than any of that. WE, the USA, are less protected against those that want to kill us because Traitor of the House Pelosi wants to keep playing games. Here is the Email of the week.”

Well, just a bit later that day, Traitor in the House Pelosi tried to weasel out of it by saying this on the House Floor.

“I thank Mr. Conyers, the chair of the Judiciary Committee, and Mr. Reyes, chair of the Intelligence Committee, for their leadership in bringing this legislation to the floor. They know, as does each and every one of us, that our primary responsibility is to protect the American people. We take an oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic. And in the Preamble, it states that one of our primary responsibilities is to provide for the common defense. We take those responsibilities seriously, and I don't take seriously any statements by some in this body that any person here is abdicating that responsibility.”

You are Traitor in the House Pelosi. You ARE.

“All of us understand, also, the role that intelligence plays in protecting our troops -- force protection. That used to be our primary responsibility, and now of course, homeland security is part of that. None of us would send our troops into harm's way without the intelligence to perform their mission and keep them safe. Although some have been willing to send our men and women in uniform into harm's way without the equipment they need to keep them safe, we don't make any accusations against them that they are not patriotic Americans. We want to protect the American people.”

No you don’t.

“As Chairman Conyers and Chairman Reyes have already pointed out in some detail, this legislation will meet our responsibility to protect America while also protecting our precious civil liberties.

The President has said that our legislation will not make America safe. The President is wrong and I think he knows it. He knows that our legislation contains within it the principles that were suggested by the Director of National Intelligence, Mr. McConnell, early on, as to what is needed to protect our people in terms of intelligence.”

Bunk. It is,,well, keep going.

“The Administration demands that Congress grants immunity to companies for activities about which the President wants only a small number of Members of Congress and no member of the Judicial Branch deciding any of the currently filed lawsuits to know anything about.”

Yup. NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. The lawsuits are bogus. YOU Traitor in the House Pelosi, WANT the lawsuits to go through, because you were paid off, with MILLIONS of dollars, by the SAME trial Lawyers that will get rich by them. Twit.

“The bill before us acknowledges that immunity for the companies may already exist under current law and allows that determination to be decided by a judge with due protection for classified information. Not by hundreds of people who really do not have the facts.

Why would the Administration oppose a judicial determination of whether the companies already have immunity? There are at least three explanations:

First, the President knows that it was the Administration's incompetence in failing to follow the procedures in the statute that prevented immunity from being conveyed -- that's one possibility. They simply didn't do it right. Second, the Administration's legal argument that the surveillance requests were lawfully authorized was wrong; or third, public reports that the surveillance activities undertaken by the companies went far beyond anything about which any Member of Congress was notified, as is required by the law.”

Want a worm for that hook? Since your fishing, I thought maybe I could help you out.

“None of these alternatives is attractive, but they clearly demonstrate why the Administration's insistence that Congress provide retroactive immunity has never been about national security or about concerns for the companies; it has always been about protecting the Administration.

As important as the issue of immunity might be, it is chiefly important to the Administration and the telecommunications companies as they look back to events that occurred as many as six years ago. What is truly important to the security of our country and the protection of our Constitution going forward are the amendments made to FISA in Title I in this bill that is on the floor today, the so-called surveillance title of the bill.

The bill retains three of the essential provisions of the bill passed by the House in November and in doing so, explicitly rejects again the heart of the President's warrantless surveillance program. Those provisions are:

One, a restatement that FISA remains the exclusive -- means to authorize electronic surveillance. The President likes to think that he has the inherent authority to survey and collect on anybody and this bill restates that FISA is the exclusive authority. This was a point conceded to in 1978 when the Congress of United States established the FISA law, which was signed by the President of the United States, thereby his recognition of Congress' ability to make the courts the third branch of government the exclusive authority for the collection of intelligence in the United States.

Second, except in emergencies, FISA court approval must take place before surveillance begins. But there are exceptions in case of emergencies.”

That is completely bogus. It puts in the hands of a Judge to determine how and when someone should listen to attack preparation being made against this country. THAT is not the role of a judge. It is an act of War not of Law. A delay or denial by a judge with an agenda or just plain ignorance can HELP another attack happen.

“Third, a refusal to follow the Senate in excluding -- this is very important, because people are talking about the Senate bill as some great thing -- from the definition of electronic surveillance activities historically considered to be within the definition. In other words, if they don't want the law to apply for a particular activity, they'll just say it doesn't fall into this bill. If the Administration's change in the definition change was accepted, 'FISA-derived' information including U.S. person information could be data-mined with fewer protections than currently in place under FISA. This is very important to each and every person in America.”

It passed the Senate, it will pass the House, because it is the right thing to do. Again, you Twit.

“The President insists that we pass the Senate bill as is. Yet even that legislation's chief author -- Chairman Rockefeller -- agrees that many of the House provisions improve the Senate bill. “This legislation before us today will ensure that our intelligence professionals have all the tools they need to protect the American people, and the President knows it.

This legislation will also ensure that we protect what it means to be an American -- our precious civil rights and civil liberties.

Both goals are essential and both are achieved by this bill. I urge its passage.”

It will be vetoed, because again, you are playing politics with American lives. YOU are. Same day as a response to this, House Republican Whip Roy Blunt issued the following statement.

“Even for a Congress with a proven record of over-reaching, the majority's decision to play politics with critical terrorist surveillance legislation is deeply disappointing. And as they force through another ill-fated and poorly conceived FISA bill today, it's worth wondering how many intelligence agents would have to testify that vital information is being lost before Democrats hear their message, and finally take up the bipartisan Senate-passed bill.

Nearly a year has passed since the director of national intelligence identified the need to modernize our outdated surveillance laws, and asked Congress to work with him on finding a workable solution. The Senate has done its part, working with the administration to produce a bill that balances national security with protecting individual rights. But until the House decides to follow suit, our intelligence capabilities will continue to dim -- until our agents reach the point where they find themselves completely in the dark.

It's my sincere hope the two-week Easter recess imparts in Democrats perspective on this issue they currently do not have. Maybe then they'll decide to bring forth the bipartisan Senate bill for passage -- legislation that arms our intelligence agents with the tools they need to keep us safe, while ensuring the firms that aided our country in the days following September 11th aren't rewarded for their patriotism with a lawsuit.”

Yes, you read that correctly. For the second time, the House if going on vacation, WITHOUT passing the Senate version that will keep us safe, and protect companies that help out in doing so. Traitor in the House Pelosi wants them to be able to be sued, not because she cares about you or your “Rights” but rather because she has been paid off. So she just continues to stall, play games, and now go on vacation again. It’s time folks, it’s time she needs to go on an incessant vacation. Like the old saying goes, don’t go away mad, just go away. Let the grown ups keep Americans safe. Let the grown ups run the country.
