Happy Friday to ya. You know, there is so much I want to talk about. From PETA, to a whole host of others. Time just has not been friendly this Week. So it's looking like Sunday will TRULY be a BIG Edition this week. But it's Friday. Time to check in from the Emails.

I'll be honest, I never heard of this site until YG sent this in. But I find this Entire Site interesting. I've been checking it out this morning. "10 Songs we get the lyrics Wrong" was a fun one. Robert Edward Turner III was born in 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio. As he is not known as Robert or Edward, the date and place of his birth mean little, until we associate the name he is most known for. Ted. Ted Turner, the man with the smarts to make money.

Observing all that is written about him, one could go in either direction with the good, bad or ugly. As in every man with few exceptions, his life contained all three. He never knew poverty so his is not a rag to riches story. His father was in the billboard business and proved to be very successful however when Ted the 3rd was 24, his father committed suicide. It was then that Ted Turner found himself in charge of his father business, and the rest could be history, except that his history is vast and interesting, and is not yet all told.

As with the move of your mouse, and a left click of the finger, anything you would want to know about Ted Turner III, can be found on the WWW. He is an interesting man for sure, and until now I have known very little about him.

Of all his accomplishments which could take many thousand words to tell; with all the television endeavors of which he has been successful; even the fact he was owner of the Atlanta Braves; all his failed marriages; his childhood in private schools and anything else you might want to add, the one area that fascinates me about him is his MGM purchase.

It was after starting CNN the 24hour news broadcasting station in 1985, which added CNN radio, and CNN International, Ted Turner III became a billionaire. His accomplishments did not stop there, as he was ever the enterprising soul that looked for opportunities in the world of television in which to get involved.

At the end of 1994 he was also crowned “Man of the Year” by Time magazine for his part in “on the scene reporting” the uprising among the youth in China at the Tiananmen Square. Then again when Iraq headed by Saddam Hussein invaded and occupied their oil-rich neighbor Kuwait, the CNN cameras were in the war area reporting firsthand information, while other stations stayed in safe territory. The 24 hour news station CNN had found its place in history.

In 1986, Turner purchased MGM Entertainment Company. To the business world’s astonishment, he quickly sold it back to the previous owner, retaining nothing but the studio’s film library. To many observers, it seemed like an utterly whimsical and wrong-headed move, one that immediately cost Turner $100 million, but within the year, his film library had earned $125 million.

Newly available home video technology had created an enormous market for films on videotape. The catalogue Turner had acquired from MGM included not only classic MGM films, but the libraries of United Artists, Warner Brothers and RKO, everything from classics like Gone With the Wind and Casablanca to forgotten B-pictures and short subjects from the ’20s through the ’60s. Turner employed a new process to add color to a number of old black-and-white film, a practice that outraged purists but boosted videotape sales of many of the films in the collection.

In 1992, after purchasing the animation studio Hanna-Barbera, with its catalogue of popular children’s programming, Turner launched the Cartoon Network, another cable offering that has brought him praise from parents all around the world.

The following year, he added the motion picture companies Castle Rock Entertainment and New Line Cinema to Turner Broadcasting’s portfolio, further expanding his library of films and adding motion picture production capability. Any hard feelings Turner may have spurred among film buffs with his colorization project were more than appeased in 1994, when Turner founded a new cable channel, Turner Classic Movies (TCM), to show old and new films, uncut, uninterrupted and commercial-free, 24 hours a day. All films are shown in their original format: black-and-white films in black-and-white, widescreen films in their original aspect ratio. One could find oneself envying the life of Ted Turner, but very few would want the tragedies and failures that have come his way. We each have our own cross to bear, and how we carry our cross makes up our legacy. We each have opportunities to be humanitarians and generous; the more we give the more comes back to us the good book says. We can admire Ted Turner for his accomplishments; it is because of men like him we enjoy many things in this modern world. And for me, it is TCM; Turner Classic Movies.

Now to meet the man Ted Turner III would be even greater. With my research and study I feel I know him better and understand him a little more. A man who has found himself growing old without want of anything money could buy. Having seen the world, and can afford to go back again to any of the seven continents without second thought. The property he owns all over the world has afforded him a place to sleep wherever he chooses to go.

In the place of success in which he finds himself, he would quickly add it was not without cost and hard work. It takes time, talent and money and friends to accomplish in his lifetime what he can lay claim to. He is probably only one among many, but Ted Turner III, the individual, is ONE among many.

Time For a BBA?

Sounds GREAT. But will it ever pass?

Governors Haley Barbour (R.-Miss.), Bob McDonnell (R.-Va.), and Rick Perry (R.-Tex.) sent a letter to the Democrat and Republican congressional leaders on Tuesday evening

calling on them to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment (BBA) to the U.S. Constitution.

“We believe it is time that the federal government be required to live within its means and balance its books every year, just as we are required to do in our respective states,” wrote the three governors in a letter obtained by HUMAN EVENTS.

The governors’ letter was sent to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.), Speaker of the House John Boehner (R.-Ohio), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnnell (R.-Ky.), and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (R.-Calif.).

“Currently, 49 states have some form of a balanced budget requirement. Millions of working families across the country balance their checkbooks every year and we believe that Congress needs to do the same,” the governors wrote.

Because the federal government is not required to balance its budget, this year alone spending will exceed revenue by $1.5 trillion. The accumulation of the years of federal budget deficits has left the U.S. with a national debt of $14.1 trillion. The debt is projected to hit the statutory limit within the next two months, at which point Congress will have to decide to raise the debt ceiling.

“In Mississippi we are required to have a balanced budget. That legal requirement makes a world of difference. And [it’s] getting our legislature to live within our means,” Barbour told HUMAN EVENTS in an interview. “The country would benefit if there were a national Balanced Budget Amendment.”

“The fact that the federal government has no Balanced Budget Amendment is to me one of the great cancers of the republic,” McDonnell told HUMAN EVENTS by phone. “I think that transferring the spending restraints that are required in every state through a Balanced Budget Amendment is what needs to be done at the federal level.”

The governors’ letter supports specific BBA legislation in the House sponsored by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R.-Va.) and in the Senate by Senators John Cornyn (R.-Tex.) and Orrin Hatch (R.-Utah). “We support and appreciate their leadership and their effort to solve the deepening budget crisis and ask that you work with them to pass a balanced budget amendment in the 112th Congress,” the governors wrote.

In early February, Cornyn organized a conference call with McDonnell, Barbour, Perry, and Goodlatte to get state support for a BBA. A constitutional amendment requires a two-thirds vote in the House and Senate, so it would require bipartisan support for passage.

“From my conversation with them, I think they see themselves as a kind of counterbalance to the overreach in Washington,” Cornyn told HUMAN EVENTS of the call with the governors. “They can use the authority they’ve been given in their states by organizing together and forcing Washington to change. I think that’s a very constructive development.”

The governors have all been struggling to balance their own states’ budgets during this current legislative term. Along with a weak economy, the states are also forced to budget for the unfunded federal mandates, especially from the health care law known as ObamaCare, as well as education and environmental regulations. ObamaCare has forced more people into the Medicaid program, which is split 50/50 between the states and the federal government.

“We have sued the federal government to try to declare ObamaCare unconstitutional. It would increase our Medicaid rolls by two-thirds. We already have more than 20% of our population on Medicaid. And this will put us up to more than a third of our population on Medicaid. And by the time the program is fully in effect, it will cost us an extra $440 million a year,” Barbour told HUMAN EVENTS.

“Medicaid is a budget buster for Virginia and, really, every state,” McDonnell told HUMAN EVENTS. “This ObamaCare bill not only adds more spending, but it really hamstrings the governors with these maintenance-of-effort requirements. I mean this is eligibility requirements. But you really can’t do anything creative or entrepreneurial or try to reduce Medicaid spending in your states. So it’s a bad situation. And the federal government doesn’t seem interested at this point in giving us the tools to control the costs.”

According to Article V of the U.S. Constitution, an amendment must get a two-thirds vote in both the House and Senate, and be ratified by three-quarters of the states. So in the Democrat-majority Senate, the amendment would need all 47 Republicans votes plus 20 Democrats for passage.

McConnell is expected to launch an all-out push to get grassroots support for a BBA during the debate with President Obama over the terms of raising the debt ceiling.

The Senate voted on March 2 for a non-binding amendment for a BBA, sponsored by Sen. Mike Lee (R.-Utah). The final vote was 58-40. If that test vote would be an accurate measure for vote counting, then only nine more Democrats are needed to pass a BBA this year.

The last time that the Senate voted on a binding Balanced Budget Amendment was in 1997, when the measure sponsored by Hatch, failed by only one vote. The 1997 BBA was supported by 11 Democrats, four of whom are still in the Senate: Max Baucus (Mont.), Tom Harkin (Iowa), Herb Kohl (Wisc.), and Mary Landrieu (La.).

For the March 2 vote, Kohl voted in favor, but Baucus and Harkin voted against it. Landrieu did not vote. The three who voted in favor of the BBA in 1997 are considered good potential supporters of a 2011 BBA, which leaves six more needed for passage.

In the House, Goodlatte’s BBA bill is considered more likely to get bipartisan support for passage. The House passed a BBA in 1995 as part of the “Contract With America.”

Under the new Senate Republican version of the BBA, the federal government would have to balance federal spending to incoming revenue each year, cap spending at 18% of the gross domestic product (GDP), require a two-thirds vote in Congress to pass a budget that is out of balance or to raise taxes, mandate that the President submit a balanced budget each year, and get a three-fifths vote to raise the debt ceiling.

“Undoubtedly, Washington has a spending problem, and this problem is getting worse,” the three governors wrote in the letter to Congressional leaders. “Hence, a balanced budget amendment is a common-sense measure that is long overdue and whose time has come.”

Now again, SOUNDS like a great idea. But they need Two Thirds to pass it. That means Two Thirds that will have to agree to spend within their means? Like I said, I have my doubts.

Fake Experts, Failed Vaccines, Money

Hey folks,

As you know I have been watching out for your health for years. I have been keeping a close eye on things that are out there that could pose a grave risk to your health, and well being. I have been talking about things like the Bird Flu, and now H1N1, or Swine Flu for over the past three years.

Do you remember when the Swine Flu Vaccine was first announced? I raised concerns on it's safety and effectiveness. I took some heat for it, by I was one hundred percent honest with all of you, I said I was in no way going to take it, or even allow my Son Joshua to take it. Not because I was joining the growing groups of you out there who are saying that it is made up and a ploy by whomever, for whatever reason, but because it was not logically safe.

What do I mean logically safe? Well, I've talked in detail about this countless times, however, in a nut shell, it takes YEARS, for any Vaccine or drug, to be conceived, formulated, tested, approved, and brought to market. Swine Flu Vaccine? A couple of months. Then a push to MANDATE or force you and your children to take it.

So what has happened since? Some serious side effects, that are ignored and not reported on. They include Guillain-Barre Syndrome, and 41 people that we KNOW of who, well, like I said before, 41 people, that was alive, took the shot, and who are now, NOT. Facts folks. Just facts. I have talked about what happened the LAST time a Vaccine was rushed to market and pushed on people to take in the 70s. Same outcome we are hearing signs of this time around. CDC Failed to Screen Vaccine Panel Experts: Report

Medical experts weren't properly screened for financial conflicts when they were hired in 2007 by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to provide advice about safety of flu and cervical cancer vaccines, says a report by the inspector general of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Daniel R. Levinson found that 64 percent of the experts had potential conflicts that were never identified or resolved. In some cases, experts who were legally barred from advising on the vaccines did so anyway, The New York Times reported.

In nearly every case, the CDC failed to ensure that experts adequately filled out forms confirming they weren't being paid by companies with an interest in their decisions, said the report, expected to be released Friday. Levinson said the CDC must do a better job of screening experts who serve on its advisory panels, and the agency's new director, Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, agreed.

"Since the period covered in this review, C.D.C. has strengthened the financial disclosures and conflict-of-interest process by instituting improved business processes and realigning responsibilities and oversight," Frieden wrote, The Times reported.

So to simplify this a bit, for those who may need a little extra help in understanding. These "experts" telling you that the Swine Flu Shots are safe, are making A LOT OF MONEY from the companies that PRODUCE the Shots. It would be like me, saying that I'm an expert on Climate Change, so you need to trust me that it's real and that you need to buy Carbon Credits to off set your usage. Meanwhile, I, owning the company that you will buy from, will make millions. Oh yeah, that's already being done, Al Gore. Ok. It's like me telling you that I am an expert in Space Travel and you need to help fund Rocket Science, then accepting a check from the main Rocket Science Company for saying what I am saying. Get the point? I'm no Rocket Scientist, but a million or so would be pretty persuasive for me to tell you all about it.

Sorry folks, but from all the evidence that is out there. REAL evidence, FACTS, and now brief history, I have to still conclude that Swine Flu is REAL. Real people are getting sick, real people are dying. When people get it, if treated early enough and the right way, people get better. However, this Vaccine was rushed to market, untested, and is NOT as safe as they want you to believe. Real people are REALLY dying after taking the VACCINE. Real people are getting Guillain-Barre Syndrome, after taking the VACCINE. These experts, 64 percent of them, are being PAID to tell you its safe and wise to take. Again, these are FACTS. You have to decide for yourselves. As for me and mine, we will continue to skip the Vaccine, and continue to keep a close eye on all the threats out there. We will continue to take the necessary precautions and watch for early signs of any potential sickness and deal with it accordingly. You need to do the same.

US Seizing Muslim Mosques, Money, and Property.

If Fort Hood taught us anything, it taught us that PC can kill. All kind of warning signs that there was something wrong with a Muslim Military Doctor, and that he should NEVER have been allowed to continue in that role. But out of fear of being labeled a Racist, an Islamophobe, or just being called discriminatory, NO ONE DID ANYTHING. 13 Soldiers died.

Here is yet another example of where Profiling is not nearly as dangerous as PC. We are at War with radical Islamofascists. Sorry, just the flat out truth. That is the facts. But out of Political Correctness, and the fear we may offend someone, we stop little old ladies at the Airports. We ignore what should be OBVIOUS warning signs. We dismiss or wave off what some people actually SAY and DO.

Folks, it is NOT little old ladies that are going into Military Bases, strapping bombs to their own kids, or flying Planes into NYC Skyscrapers. No. It is not Asians. No. It is is Blacks. No. It is not Born again Christians. No. It is not the Jews. Sorry. It IS Muslims. Not discriminatory. Not racist. Not Islamophobia. It is simply THE TRUTH.

So now, after yet another attack on our own soil, some are actually starting to say, ENOUGH! Obama is still not ready to send more Troops that are needed to fight the War and support our Troops in Afghanistan, but some are finally looking more serious at all this. NEW YORK (Nov. 12) — Federal prosecutors took steps Thursday to seize four U.S. mosques and a Fifth Avenue skyscraper owned by a nonprofit Muslim organization long suspected of being secretly controlled by the Iranian government.

REALLY? You mean Little Hitler {Ahmadinejad} could possibly be planing attacks against us? REALLY? You mean that Iran is maybe an ENEMY of America on a quest to kill and destroy our Country? You mean that if they were, oh say, maybe, uh, working on a NUCLEAR BOMB, that they may actually intent to use it to "Wipe Israel off the map" and maybe even bring "Death to America"? REALLY? You mean Muslims that are in Iran may not like us?

In what could prove to be one of the biggest counterterrorism seizures in U.S. history, prosecutors filed a civil complaint in federal court against the Alavi Foundation, seeking the forfeiture of more than $500 million in assets.

The assets include bank accounts; Islamic centers consisting of schools and mosques in New York City, Maryland, California and Houston; more than 100 acres in Virginia; and a 36-story glass office tower in New York.

Confiscating the properties would be a sharp blow against Iran, which has been accused by the U.S. government of bankrolling terrorism and trying to build a nuclear bomb.

I'm SHOCKED! I thought Islam was just a peaceful Religion. I thought that Iran was just trying to turn on lights, and power their people's homes. I thought that Iran wanted to be friends with the US. I thought that all we would have to do is play nice with them, and they would just forget this nonsense. We could sing kumbaya and all would be right in the world. "HEY LADY! Get out of that wheelchair and get up against the wall!"

In all seriousness, is it about time? Or do you think that the Government is going to far? What about the First Amendment? Could this open the door for the Government to seize say a Catholic Church, Baptist, a Synagogue, or anything that the Government deems as a threat? Does it open the door to the Government coming in and taking your HOME if they deem YOU a threat of a Radical? Is it the right thing to do? Or is it dangerous territory?

Well, looks look at the facts here.

Prosecutors said the Alavi Foundation managed the office tower on behalf of the Iranian government and, working with a front company known as Assa Corp., illegally funneled millions in rental income to Iran's state-owned Bank Melli. Bank Melli has been accused by a U.S. Treasury official of providing support for Iran's nuclear program, and it is illegal in the United States to do business with the bank.

The U.S. has long suspected the foundation was an arm of the Iranian government; a 97-page complaint details involvement in foundation business by several top Iranian officials, including the deputy prime minister and ambassadors to the United Nations.

"For two decades, the Alavi Foundation's affairs have been directed by various Iranian officials, including Iranian ambassadors to the United Nations, in violation of a series of American laws," U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement.

The skyscraper, known as the Piaget building, was erected in the 1970s under the shah of Iran, who was overthrown in 1979. The tenants include law and investment firms and other businesses.

The sleek, modern building, last valued at $570 million to $650 million in 2007, has served as an important source of income for the foundation over the past 36 years. The most recent tax records show the foundation earned $4.5 million from rents in 2007.

Rents collected from the building help fund the centers and other ventures, such as sending educational literature to imprisoned Muslims in the U.S. The foundation has also invested in dozens of mosques around the country and supported Iranian academics at prominent universities.

If federal prosecutors seize the skyscraper, the Alavi Foundation would have almost no way to continue supporting the Islamic centers, which house schools and mosques. That could leave a major void in Shiite communities, and hard feelings toward the FBI, which played a big role in the investigation.

HARD FEELINGS? 13 American Soldiers DEAD. 3000 Americans DEAD. Even more Soldiers killed in the War. Hard feelings? I do not CARE. But is this really a slope we want to go down?

Every ounce of my being wants to stand and cheer this move. EVERY aspect of shutting down KNOWN AND PROVEN terrorist funding organizations and indoctrination centers are not only a good thing, but simply logical in a sane world.

However, do you remember this? Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment I talked about this when I posted THIS. Conservatives: Enemy of the State?

An enemy of the state is a person accused of certain crimes against the state, such as treason. Describing individuals in this way is sometimes a manifestation of political repression. For example, an authoritarian regime may purport to maintain national security by describing social or political dissidents as "enemies of the state". In other cases, the individual in question may have legitimately endangered the country and/or its population. For example, a double agent selling military or intelligence secrets could undermine a nation's security, and could therefore be considered an enemy not of just a person or entity within a state, but the state itself and all entities therein.

The Department of Homeland Security is warning law enforcement officials about a rise in "rightwing extremist activity," saying the economic recession, the election of America's first black president and the return of a few disgruntled war veterans could swell the ranks of white-power militias.

Now OK, we already know that the ignorant Left actually thinks that all Conservatives are War mongering, hate filled, Racist, Chauvinistic, Homophobes. They have attempting to portray us as this for years, even though, as I have pointed out here countless times, it is THEY that are the true Racist. But THIS? This is so far over the line, it is CRIMINAL.

A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "rightwing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

So if you believe in the CONSTITUTION, YOU are an Extremist. An Enemy of the the Federal Government?

"It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration," the warning says.

Are you getting this? So if you are against Amnesty, Abortion, or gather, such as the Tea Party Movement to speak out against the False Messiah Obama, YOU ARE A CRIMINAL!

So if the Government starts to seize Religious Centers, what will stop them from seizing a Christian Church, or a Synagogue, that they deem an Enemy of the State. If they deem them Radical and Extremists, a threat to America and the American, all inclusiveness, way of life, what would stop them from coming in and shutting them down? After they do THIS, seizing the Mosques, with standing ovations, and great cheer, they will then have a precedent to come after ANYONE, that they feel is an enemy of whatever their agendas may be.

Now, do not misunderstand me. I have NO PROBLEM with the Government coming in and seizing Banks or Business that are PROVEN to be funding those that want us dead. I have no problem, and it is already on the books, with Government coming in a seizing personal property that is being used in felony crimes. I DO have a problem with Eminent Domain, but not seizing property that is to be found conducting felony crimes against fellow citizens.

But when you start talking about seizing Religious Centers, be they whatever Faith they are, I have to pause in my celebratory cheer. I have to look at history and what our Constitution actually says. I have to add logic, and commonsense. I have to think ahead, as to might may be the "unforeseen ramification and consequences" for the actions we take today. After doing that, I have to say, I feel it would be far better if we did NOT go down this road.

Seize the Banks. Take the Skyscraper. Investigate, and if proven FACT, arrest anyone that is found to be guilty of planing out attacks or conduction felony crimes. But let's leave the Religious Centers alone. Do I feel Islam is a peaceful Religion? I have my doubts. However, this is not a precedent I think we really want to set.
