Tell Me Again Why I’m Wrong

Hey folks,

Just one month ago, on November 23, 2007, I posted "No More Nickelodeon For Joshua" It was the first “From the Emails" segment. I was talking about this Idiot, Linda Ellerbee, host of the “news” program for kids. On that show, “Rebels with a Cause,” she presented teeny boppers dressed up in orange jumpsuits protesting the war and the Evil President Bush.

It was pure and unadulterated Liberal, anti-Bush, anti-war, propaganda. According to the article by Katie O'Malley.

But it was another type of slime that hit the Nickelodeon screen during a segment of Nick News, hosted by Linda Ellerbee. Presented as a news program for kids, the recent episode “Rebels with a Cause”, featured, among others, two anti-war teens.

In pitch-perfect leftist speak, Ellerbee introduces the show with talk of "taking on the establishment." It takes only a nanosecond to recognize that Ellerbee does not mean just any establishment, certainly not her own leftist establishment of Hollywood and the Mainstream Media. No, Linda and her rebels mean “the man”. And by man, they mean George W. Bush.

We met a 14 year old talking about things he would have no clue about, unless he was told to say what he was. I told you then, that based on this type of attempt of brainwashing, Joshua would no longer watch Nickelodeon.

Some of you freaked out a little on me. Told me I was for censorship, I cannot judge the entire network based on one news show. Some of you told me that Nic. is great. Some even PRAISED the Idiot Ellerbee.

So was I wrong? This should not be on a network for kids. Sorry. Was I wrong? What’s next for one of the topics for Ellerbee to “educate” your kids with? Not mine. Like I said Josh will not be seeing it. But YOUR kids? Sweet, innocent, underage teenagers, getting pregnant.

There is SO MANY things wrong with this article, I do not even know where to begin. According to The New York Times and AOL News - Spears' Pregnancy Provides Life Lesson By SARA RIMER

CONCORD, Mass. (Dec. 21) -- Talk about teachable moments.

In schools and shopping malls and around the dining room table, the subject of teenage pregnancy and sex was suddenly and uncomfortably in the air as mothers and daughters and fathers, too, talked about — or tried not to talk about — the pregnancy of 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears, who plays the perfect, well-liked and, it is understood, virginal teenage girl on “Zoey 101” on Nickelodeon.

High school girls here wondered aloud on Thursday why no one was talking about contraception. Parents across the country, on the other hand, commiserated over the Internet about how, thanks to Ms. Spears, they were facing a conversation with their 8-, 9-, and 10-year-olds about sex.

Who’s fault is THAT? You SHOULD be talking to your kids about sex. If you do not, someone else will. You most likely will not like what they are telling them. But who’s fault is it that little Spears, version 2, is underage and pregnant? Same person who’s fault it is that big Sis. Britany is nothing more than white trash who cannot keep custody of her kids. Yup. Mom.

Who’s fault is it that THIS is news at all? That little miss Spears is being somehow taking as a hero or an example in the teachings of a life lesson? Instead of being fired from the show for being a POOR example of what little girls should be striving for. News Outlet running around the country, bringing up the topic to people. Getting people to talk about it.

“Nowadays, nothing’s safe, not even cartoons,” Diana Madruga, who has an 11-year-old daughter, said as she wrapped up her shift as the manager of a Dunkin’ Donuts here in the Boston suburbs.

What cartoons? Notice they did not elaborate on what she said.

Shopping at American Girl Place, the doll store, in Manhattan, Sharon Carruthers said she had used the news as an opportunity to talk about the dangers of teenage pregnancy with her 10-year-old daughter, Yasmine. “I want my daughter’s mind in the real world,” said Ms. Carruthers, who is from Deptford, N.J. “But this is not what my daughter is going to do in her life. She knows better. She knows right and wrong.”

Yasmine shook her head. “I never expected her, of all people, to do this,” she said, referring to the girl who in her mind is both Zoey and Jamie, the actress who plays her. “She’s supposed to be the good one in the family.”

Hard to be good, when it is abundantly clear that the Mother is loving the fame of her daughters and has no clue as to right and wrong. No foundation seems to have been laid here. No teaching of morals. She is living off of their fame. I guess she didn’t want to risk it.

High school girls who had already had their hearts broken by the all-too-public life of Ms. Spears’s older sister, Britney, known as a hard-partying mother of two, worried that their younger sisters would be devastated by the news — or, worse, that their sisters might think it was “cool” to be 16 and pregnant.

EXACTLY!

“She’s the idealistic little girl,” Alicia Akusis, 17, said of the television character Zoey between classes at Concord-Carlisle High School here. “She does perfect in school. Boys like her because she’s pretty, but she doesn’t deal with boys. She’s really smart, she’s really cool, she’s an empowering girl character.”

Uh, she doesn’t deal with boys?

Ms. Akusis said she hoped that her younger sister and stepsister, who are both 11 and love the show, would not find out about Ms. Spears. “I don’t even want to bring it up with them,” she said. “I don’t want them to be disappointed.” It would be like their discovering that Santa Claus was not real, she said.

Ms. Akusis’s friend Mikala Viscariello, 16, was less concerned with shielding the young than with facing the realities of modern life. “There is no excuse for not using contraception,” Ms. Viscariello said.

{Sigh} There is no excuse for having sex. Don’t have sex, don’t get pregnant. Not a real hard concept. No pregnancies, diseases, no chance. How about teaching kids THAT. Why is that so wrong?

Ms. Akusis shot back, “I don’t think she should have gotten pregnant in the first place.”

THANK YOU.

Perhaps the news of Ms. Spears’s pregnancy should not have been so surprising in what has seemed to be the year of the unwed mother in popular culture. First there was the movie “Knocked Up,” in which a 24-year-old entertainment journalist accidentally gets pregnant in a drunken evening. Now there’s “Juno,” about a 16-year-old who confronts an unplanned pregnancy and decides to have the baby.

But Nickelodeon has won wide acclaim as a sanctuary from the hypersexualized youth culture. That is what burned up Matt Younginer of Columbia, S.C., who was shopping with his 9-year-old daughter, Ansley, in Manhattan.

“She loves ‘Zoey 101,’ ” Mr. Younginer said. “It’s usually Britney Spears who would do that stuff, not Jamie Lynn. She was supposed to be one of the good, clean actresses for girls to follow after. I think it just sends an awful message for the young girls.”

Why she should be fired.

Dan Martinsen, a spokesman for Nickelodeon, said Thursday that “Zoey 101” was one of its most popular shows among viewers 9 to 14.

“Nothing about the content, characters or the storytelling on our air has changed at all,” Mr. Martinsen said. He said that Nickelodeon was discussing a special on the issue with Linda Ellerbee, the television journalist who is the host of “Nick News.” “Whenever an issue becomes so prevalent that it’s inescapable,” Mr. Martinsen said, “her show is where we turn to help kids navigate and interpret and understand it.”

WHO’S interpretation? Of what understanding are you going to make of it. Or is Nic. just going to exploit this whole thing for money?

Ms. Akusis and her friends around the cafeteria table at Concord-Carlisle High School seemed to be doing a pretty good job of that themselves. The consensus around the table was that it was unrealistic to think that 16-year-olds would not have sex, and that someone should have talked to Ms. Spears about contraception.

It’s only realistic that they do not fully understand what sex is. They get bombarded on a daily bases with sex. TV, Hollywood, School, music, peers, ETC. And you, as a Parent, are telling them what?

The girls, who had followed the story on TV and the Internet, were also critical of Ms. Spears’s mother, who had been widely quoted as saying that one reason she was shocked by her daughter’s pregnancy was that she had always followed her curfew.

Speaks for itself.

“When I heard that, I started laughing out loud,” Ms. Akusis said. “You can have sex during the middle of the day,” adding, “It’s not like there’s a time limit.”

One of her rituals, she said, was to watch “Zoey 101” with her stepsister and sister every week. “I hope they don’t cancel the show,” she said. “Zoey is still a good role model for little girls.”

Not anymore.

Ms. Viscariello agreed. “It would be wrong to cancel her program and tell her she can’t come back because she’s pregnant.” But, she added, Ms. Spears would need to take some time off.

“You need time to figure your stuff out,” she said. “And you’re going to have to take care of a human being.”

No she will not. She will have people do it. Maybe Mom can use this one also. Look how good big Sis did, taking care of HER human beings.

She turned to David Prifti, who teaches photography at the high school. “Prifti, what happened when you had Amanda and Lucas? That took up a lot of you and your wife’s time, didn’t it?”

Yes it did, said Mr. Prifti, whose children are 17-year-old twins.

Later, in Mr. Prifti’s class, Greg Moseley, 18, said he was sick of hearing the name Jamie Lynn Spears. “Why do we care about Britney Spears’s little sister?” Mr. Moseley said. “Why does it make a difference? What does it mean? Nothing.”

“All this stuff is impossible to get away from,” he continued, “unless you go to Alaska and live in the woods.”

Folks, THIS is yet another reason that PARENTS need to lay the foundation for their kids. It's more for protection than anything else. They need to know the ways that are good for them, and the ways that can harm them. You always need to know ALL the facts, in order to make informed decisions. But if you throw your kids out there, because you do not have time or the desire to actually be a parent, they will learn from others. That is NEVER good. Most of the time, they grow up and become someone you do not even recognize and wonder what happened. Why is my daughter running around with no pants on? Why is she neglecting her kids for drugs, and alcohol? What happened? YOU did. Or the lack of you being a parent.

Sorry, but this, again, does NOT belong on a kids TV Network. It just doesn't. Another reason why Josh will not be watching.

Christmas Coming Back

Hey folks,

I just posted the Presidential Radio address from yesterday. President Bush gave an extremely inspirational message. It was great. It was also one hundred percent true. One of the things that stood out to me was this.

"At this time of year, we acknowledge that love and sacrifice can transform our world. The miracle of Christmas reminds us that God's grace is revealed in the humblest places. Two thousand years ago, the fullness of that grace was found in a tiny manger, and the life born that day changed our world forever. As Christmas approaches, Laura and I extend to all Americans our best wishes, and we hope every family is brought closer together during this season of reflection and rejoicing."

If it were not for Jesus, there would be NO Christmas. It really is, just that simple. No Christ, no Christmas. I have been arguing with people for years that this country, and places around the world celebrate Christmas for the right reasons. They know what it is all about. However, there are small, yet loud groups, here and there that want to make Christmas all inclusive. Or eliminate it all together. No displays in public, ETC.

For years, some have bowed down to these Idiotic, self important, and irrelevant groups and removed displays from public property. Only a couple of problems with that. One, there is NO Separation of church and state. Two, over 90 percent of this country, CLAIM to be Christian. It seems that Christmas may actually be coming back.

Get this, from USA Today - Goodwill lacking in Yule disputes, By Wendy Koch, USA TODAY

Christmas fervor is prompting more communities this year to buck secular efforts to take down Christmas trees or Nativity scenes.

Some removed the symbols from public property because of complaints about legality, then later put them back. Missouri State University in Springfield re-erected a Christmas tree after a public outcry about its removal, and Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland ordered two state parks to restore Nativity scenes.

Both sides of the issue say conflict has intensified.

"It's more abrasive this year," says Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State. He says the religious right has pushed for more government displays of religious symbols.

Too bad for you. Talk about an Idiotic, self important, and irrelevant group.

"More and more people are feeling empowered" to protest the absence of Christian symbols, says Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, an advocacy group. "There's a change in attitude." He says more than 95% of Americans celebrate Christmas.

Among the flash points:

•In Green Bay, Wis., Mayor Jim Schmitt cast a tie-breaking vote in the City Council on Wednesday to keep a Nativity scene along with a Santa Claus, reindeer and two Christmas trees on the roof of City Hall. The council put on hold requests for other symbols, including an unadorned, aluminum pole associated with Festivus, a non-denominational holiday that originated on the TV sitcom Seinfeld.

The Wisconsin Legislature voted to rename the balsam fir in the Capitol a "Christmas tree." It had become a "holiday tree" in 1985. "Call it what it is," Rep. Marlin Schneider says, the measure's sponsor. "It's like calling the menorah the 'holiday candlestick holder.' " The state Senate has not voted.

•In Fort Collins, Colo., the City Council rejected a task force's suggestion that holiday decorations be secular only. "People just went nuts about that," Larimer County Manager Frank Lancaster says.

•In Columbiana, Ala., Mayor Allan Lowe countered a complaint about the city's Nativity scene with a new policy that allows seasonal displays on public property. He has asked lawyers to review it.

"I've had nothing but positive support," he says. "We want to celebrate Christmas."

•In Hyde Park, N.Y., a Jewish group rescinded its request to remove a Nativity scene after residents complained, says Pompey Delafield, a town supervisor. "Few things are as emotional as that." He welcomed a Jewish menorah and a Muslim crescent moon and star to the display on the Town Hall lawn.

"There's a terrible disrespect for the separation of church and state," says Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, which has opposed crèches on government property.

"The state shouldn't have a Christmas anything," Gaylor says. "It's not supposed to observe religious holidays."

The Supreme Court has ruled that a Nativity scene cannot stand by itself on public property.

Gaylor says she has received e-mails calling her "horrible" names. She adds: " 'Grinch' would be mild.' "

How about Idiot? Folks, Christmas is what it is. Trees are NOT Christian. Santa, is not Christian, and neither are Reindeer. So to say someone is promoting Religion because the have a tree displayed is idiotic on it's face. But to say that we can not celebrate Christmas in public, complete with the TRUE meaning of Christmas, is absurd.

I for one, am glad that more and more people are starting to realize, they do not have to entertain these, and I repeat, Idiotic, self important, and irrelevant groups. They speak for a VERY SMALL minority of like minded folks. They want to change everything around to suit them. THAT is not America.
Peter.
Presidential Radio Address For Saturday 122207

President Bush: "Good morning. Christmas is just a few days away. As Americans gather around the tree with family and friends, we remember the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guard men and women who will be spending this holiday far away from their homes and loved ones.

America is blessed to have men and women willing to step forward to defend our freedoms and keep us safe from our enemies. We are thankful for their courage and their dedication to duty. We pray for their safety. And we wish them a Merry Christmas, wherever they serve.

America is also blessed to have military families willing to sacrifice for our country. The husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters of those in the military serve our country as well. For many of them, service means packing up their belongings and moving on short notice, or living in a different country for a time, or missing a family member as he or she serves overseas. And this Christmas, many will sit down for dinner thinking of their loved ones half a world away. These families deserve the thanks and the prayers of our whole Nation.

Some military families are helping loved ones recover from injuries sustained in combat. These families are a special source of hope and strength for our wounded warriors. Through their encouragement and devotion, they help heal the body and the spirit, and they remind our wounded warriors that our Nation stands behind them.

Other military families have felt the pain of losing a loved one in battle. This Christmas, we hold them in our hearts. We lift them up in our prayers. And we are inspired by the example that many of these families have set by turning their grief into extraordinary acts of compassion and love.

One such inspiring example is the family of Army Specialist Michael Rodriguez of Knoxville, Tennessee. During his deployment in Iraq, Michael often wrote home to his family about the children he met on patrol. In April, Michael was killed by a suicide bomber. Now his family is honoring his memory by helping to collect school supplies for students at an Iraqi school for girls.

We are also grateful for Kirsten Yuhl-Torres of San Diego, California. In 2006, Kirsten lost her son, Sergeant Joseph Perry, in Iraq. To honor Joseph's memory, she started sending care packages and writing letters of support to other soldiers serving there. Kirsten says, "Joe was our only son, but now we have hundreds."

Our Nation is also inspired by Bob Lehmiller, whose son Sergeant Mike Lehmiller, was killed in 2005 while serving in Afghanistan. To honor his son, Bob created Mike's Guardian Eagle Foundation. The Foundation gives financial assistance to military families who need extra help when their loved ones deploy or if they're wounded or killed on the field of battle.

All these families have already given so much to America, and yet they have found a way to give even more. We thank each of them. And we thank every one of our citizens who supports our troops with letters, and donations, or prayers.

At this time of year, we acknowledge that love and sacrifice can transform our world. The miracle of Christmas reminds us that God's grace is revealed in the humblest places. Two thousand years ago, the fullness of that grace was found in a tiny manger, and the life born that day changed our world forever. As Christmas approaches, Laura and I extend to all Americans our best wishes, and we hope every family is brought closer together during this season of reflection and rejoicing.

Thank you for listening, and Merry Christmas."

From The Emails Friday 122007

Hey folks,

Someone has been reading up on me. They found an article that I wrote a while back. Quite a ways back. I was talking about the fact that words have power. They also saw, that I have been talking about the new liberalism being the quest for tyranny.

They asked, why do you not talk about the other side. In other words they were asking why I do not talk about Conservatism? Well, that’s a fair question. I always assumed that it was simple. Just take all the insanity, illogical thinking, and idiocies of the new Liberalism, and chose the exact opposite. {Smile} Maybe I should talk about it more.

Anyway, here is a great article by Rebecca Hagelin. Rebecca Hagelin, a vice president of The Heritage Foundation is the author of Home Invasion: Protecting Your Family in a Culture that's Gone Stark Raving Mad and runs the Web site HomeInvasion.org. She posted over at Townhall.com, The Power of Words. Now yes, it seems she is pitching the school she works at, The Heritage Foundation, but there is some great stuff in this article.

The Power of Words
By Rebecca Hagelin
Thursday, December 20, 2007

Imagine a university where you could hear some of the best and brightest minds on a regular basis. Your faculty would include generals and attorneys general, public intellectuals and best-selling authors, dissidents and former political prisoners. In your classroom, you could question prime ministers and Nobel Laureates, members of Congress, cabinet secretaries and Supreme Court justices. Occasionally, the president and vice president would come by to make major policy statements.

And it wouldn’t cost you a penny.

Too good to be true, you scoff. I don’t blame you for being skeptical. But the “university” described above is real. I should know -- I work there. It’s The Heritage Foundation, and for my money, it trumps any Ivy League college for sheer intellectual firepower. As historian Lee Edwards recently noted, in 2006 alone Heritage produced 203 papers that delved deeply into the issues of the day, both foreign and domestic.

A sizable portion of these papers were lectures -- and they deserve special attention. Heritage recently passed a real milestone with the delivery of its 1,000th lecture.

It all began on June 4, 1980 when author Russell Kirk, one of the most notable intellectual heavyweights in conservatism’s history, came to The Heritage Foundation to speak on “The Conservative Movement: Then and Now.” Considering how large a role Heritage has played in conservatism, it was particularly apt. Dr. Kirk offered a cautiously optimistic vision. It takes about 30 years, he said, for ideas “to be expressed, discussed, and at last incorporated into public policy.” It had been about that long since F.A. Hayek and other leading lights of conservatism had produced their seminal works, so the nation was “entering upon a period of conservative policies.”

Bear in mind that at the time Dr. Kirk said this, Ronald Reagan had not yet been formally nominated to run as the Republican candidate for president, and his landslide election over President Carter -- hardly a sure thing -- was months away. Even if Reagan won, Lee Edwards notes, who knew how much he could move the nation’s policies to the right? Well, Dr. Kirk had a good idea how things were moving -- and so, as a result, did anyone who attended his lecture that day. Already, Heritage was establishing a reputation for being ahead of the curve.

On a more seasonal note, consider a key Heritage lecture delivered in December 1989. Years before Texas Gov. George W. Bush ran for president on a platform of “compassionate conservatism,” Marvin Olasky, a professor at the University of Texas at Austin, came to Heritage to give a talk titled “Reclaiming Compassion: A Christmas Meditation.” His point: It doesn’t take a welfare state or a “Great Society” to care for the poor. Americans did that all by themselves for the first 150 years of our history. According to Lee Edwards:

“In 17th century New England, for example, it was common for families to share the care of the destitute. Some would share their homes for parts of the year; others would pitch in for food costs; still others would provide clothing and medical care. Such charity demonstrated, Olasky said, ‘how thoroughly American society was impregnated with the idea of personal involvement.’”

But when government gets involved, citizens tend to withdraw, and what, then, do we wind up with? A permanent underclass that depends on handouts -- handouts funded not by caring friends and neighbors but by an impersonal bureaucracy. Fortunately, the welfare reform of 1996, which was fueled by Heritage research, went a long way toward reducing welfare dependence. Once again, The Heritage Foundation provided a real education for policymakers and the public.

And what of limited government, a key tenet of the conservative movement? Far too many lawmakers have forgotten that heroes such as Ronald Reagan won support by vowing to shrink government -- they spend money so freely that they clearly forget where it comes from: the taxpayers. Not Heritage. That’s why, for example, we brought Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, a former chairman of the Republican Study Committee, to speak on “Renewing Our Commitment to Limited Government” -- and the importance of standing on principle, even when it’s unpopular.

Take those lawmakers who voted against the 2003 Medicare drug benefit, which made the federal government’s already shaky financial situation even worse. As Pence said, “Sometimes a small group of people can take a stand, be defeated, and still make a difference.”

I could cite hundreds of other lectures (available at heritage.org/Research/index_hl.cfm), but I think it’s clear from these examples that Heritage offers a public policy curriculum that’s second to none. In fact, it and other think tanks have come to serve a function that actual colleges used to fill -- at least until the late 1960s, when academia took a hard left turn into political correctness and (as a result) irrelevance.

At Heritage, we’ve long appreciated “the power of words to change history,” as former Czech President Vaclav Havel put it. Thanks, in part, to the intellectual prowess of our speakers, we’ve been changing history for more than three decades. And as long as we provide a forum for challenging ideas, I believe, we’ll continue to do so for many more.

You know folks, It’s like what C. S. LEWIS said.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. — C. S. LEWIS

See what I mean? The exact opposite.

Have a great Weekend, See you Sunday.

Democrats Fail Again, Mukasey Steps Up

Hey folks,

Once again, the Dems have failed. Actually twice.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- After months of stalemate, the Senate late Tuesday passed a huge government spending bill that includes billions of dollars requested by President Bush to continue the war in Iraq.

The roughly $555 billion bill -- which passed 76-17 -- also preserves thousands of earmarks for lawmakers who will deliver them to constituents just in time for the holidays.

The final vote came at about 11 p.m. ET Tuesday -- after hours of debate that included two more attempts by Senate Democrats to tie war funding to a plan to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq.

Those efforts failed, as have dozens of others in the House and Senate since Democrats took control of Congress last year.

Dozens?
Try just about EVERYTHING. What is the count now? like 40 attempts to end the war? I told you they would cave on this and do the right thing. But they HAVE to put on this show for the Loons out there who make up the majority of their base. It was Showtime again, but in the end, they funded the troops and the war.

Then you have this. Mukasey is stepping up. Doing the right thing. Yet the LWL {Left Wing Loonies and some in the Main Stream Media will NOT like this. I think it's about time.

You know, EVERY job I have EVER had, there has been a standard rule. NO ONE, but those designated by the powers that be, talk to the Press. NO ONE. If you did, you were gone. Why? One reason is, if the Press is fishing for information, for the most part, they are NOT friends. They do NOT have YOUR best interests in mind. Believe me, I learned a long time ago, they can do a three page story on "No comment."

So according to the AP - Mukasey to restrict case discussions

By LARA JAKES JORDAN, Associated Press Writer
Wed Dec 19, 8:15 PM ET

The Justice Department on Wednesday limited the number of its employees who can discuss investigations with the White House, seeking to end any political meddling in sensitive cases.

About time. But I can hear it now. "What are they trying to hide? More evidence of questionable doings by Bush. They are covering stuff up." ETC.

The change rolls back a more lax policy, set under former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, that critics said allowed hundreds of Justice Department and White House workers to communicate about topics that only a few people should have handled.

In a memo Wednesday to department lawyers, Attorney General Michael Mukasey said that only he and his deputy attorney general can initiate conversations with the White House about civil and most criminal cases — and then only to the president's counsel and deputy counsel. Only cases deemed necessary to the president's duties can be discussed, Mukasey said.

"This limitation recognizes the president's ability to perform his constitutional obligation to 'take care that the laws be faithfully executed' while ensuring that there is public confidence that the laws of the United States are administered and enforced in an impartial manner," Mukasey wrote in the two-page memo.

GOOD! Like I said, about time. This is standard practice with MOST companies. So why would it NOT be standard for the White House?

After initial conversations, the attorney general or deputy attorney general can designate aides to continue the discussions when needed, Mukasey wrote. "In all such circumstances, this designation will be limited to the fewest number of people practicable," he wrote.

And in some rare cases, the associate attorney general and solicitor general — the department's No. 3 and 4 officials, respectively — can discuss civil lawsuits or legal appeals with the White House without first running it through their bosses, Mukasey wrote.

Could CREW and the idiotic Lawsuit of dates and times of Religious Leaders have anything to do with this? I bet you it does.

The memo did not limit the discussions about national security cases, however, which Mukasey said should not be slowed by a bureaucratic approval process. He had promised the new policy shortly after he was nominated as attorney general in September.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, who sought the changes, said Mukasey's policy was "a clear, unmistakable and welcome repudiation of the Gonzales era."

Absolutely.

"This change takes a significant step toward restoring Americans' confidence in the integrity of our justice system," said Whitehouse, D-R.I., a former U.S. attorney.

For the critics out there, get this.

During President Clinton's two terms, discussions of sensitive cases were restricted to six people — two at Justice and four at the White House. In 2002, a year after President Bush took office, the number of people was greatly expanded — to what Whitehouse estimated to be 417 White House staff members and 42 Justice Department employees.

This IS the right thing to do. I'm glad to see Mukasey stepping up here. Maybe this will end some of the stupidity of everyone knowing what is going on at all times. Maybe instead of having to defend everything in public, these cases and idiocies will be handled where they SHOULD be, in court.

Another Case Of BDS

Hey folks,

Happy Hump Day. Glad to be back in the chair. Hope you enjoyed our guests the last two days. I really did. Anyway, back to reality.

Now this story was from Monday. I have no idea if anyone else have talked about this, but you do not have my take on it even if they have. This is STUPID. Melanie Sloan, Director of CREW, is an IDIOT, along with showing that she also suffers from BDS, and even appears to be anti-Christian?

What am I talking about? THIS from Reuters - White House told to detail Christian leader visits

By Randall Mikkelsen Mon Dec 17, 6:34 PM ET

A U.S. judge ordered the Secret Service on Monday to disclose records of visits by nine prominent conservative Christian leaders to the White House and Vice President Dick Cheney's residence.

The ruling, in response to a legal watchdog group's suit, could shed light on the influence leaders like James Dobson of Focus on the Family have had on President George W. Bush's administration. It may also affect legal efforts to force the release of visiting records of convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff and other similar cases.

No these are separate. Two, it is NONE of ANYONE’S business when, how many times, and most definitely NOTHING that was said during these meetings. Could you imagine if some idiotic group was to demand times and what was discussed between Sen. Ellison and HIS Spiritual Leaders? Or times and discussions between any Religious Leaders and Clinton, or anyone other than Bush?

"We think that these conservative Christian leaders have had a very big impact," said Executive Director Melanie Sloan of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which filed the case.

Who CARES what you think?

"The White House doesn't want to talk about how much influence these leaders have, and we want to talk about how much they do have," she said.

It is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! It’s none of my business. It’s none of anyone’s business. Let’s say that they get the times and dates. I would most likely give that out. What’s the point? But just because someone visits someone, how would you determine how much influence they have had without knowing the conversations. The conversations are privileged, so I would say to CREW or Sloan, well, quite simply, screw off.

Dobson is one of the most influential opinion leaders among conservative Christians who are at the heart of Bush's political base.

Others whose visiting records were sought included Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, Gary Bauer, who unsuccessfully sought the 2000 Republican presidential nomination, and Moral Majority co-founder Jerry Falwell, who died in last May.

Falwell, who also visited Clinton? How many times did he visit Clinton? How much influence did he have over HIM? Will you ask that as well?

U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth rejected as "misguided" the Secret Service's arguments that disclosing the records would reveal confidential policy deliberations.

The Secret Service is responsible for presidential security and clears visitors for entry to the White House and Cheney's official residence. It also argued that the records were not under its control but were protected presidential documents.

Lamberth wrote: "The most that can be said is the Secret Service acts as if the White House has legal control over these records. Upon closer inspection, however, even this proposition seems suspect."

The White House has also fought against releasing Abramoff's visiting records. Lambeth's ruling means they cannot be destroyed without permission of the national archivist, Sloan said.

She said she expected the administration to fight the ruling, but if it survives it could mean White House visits will be considered public records.

Their disclosure would then be open to challenge only on a case-by-case basis, for reasons such as state secrecy or attorney-client privilege.

Justice Department spokesman Charles Miller said the agency was reviewing the ruling but had not decided whether to appeal.

So you see, this is really just a political move to attempt to open the Bush Administration to even MORE investigations and more waste of time. They cannot win this though. The ruling is to release time and dates. I would give it to them. Who cares and what is the point? But they will never be able to over come privilege. They will never be able to over come private conversations between Religious Leaders and the President. Like it or not, we do NOT need to, nor are we allowed to, know everything about everything.

If I were the President, use your inhalers, put away your defibrillators, I’m not running. Well, yet anyway, never say never. But if I were President, I would probably give the dates and times when people visited. But if anyone, including Federal Judges, ask to know what was discussed during those meetings, I would put my answer in words that could not be mistaken, even by Liberals. “Screw off.” Especially if it was in reference to my faith and visits by Spiritual Leaders.

God and America

I can still remember so vividly my sad days of WWII when I was a young boy, and I suffered and cried along with so many other people. We all prayed each and every day, and we asked God and America to help us in our desperate time of need. I can still envision, in my mind, all of the times during the early sunrises and the late sunsets how my Mother and I sat by our warm fireplace and begged God and America to send us some relief and help. The fresh days of W. W. II were still on my mind when I received my first Holy Communion, and on that same day when I first received the body of Jesus Christ, I also received my first one dollar bill from my Godfather, Alex. I remember the joy I felt in my heart as I said, “Thank you God, and Thank you, America.” This dollar and I became the best, inseparable friends for the next twelve years of my young, tough and impressionable life. This friend built up my hopes as I carried it with me daily in my old, torn up, empty wallet that once belonged to my father. I made sure that whenever I had it in my pocket, it stuck out and it showed just a bit. Everyone who lived in my town of Croatia “knew” my one dollar bill better than they knew me, a ten year old boy. Then, one day when I got older, this same one dollar bill served the former Yugoslavia’s Communist Army with me for two lengthy years. It always stuck its head out of my big, empty, wallet. It was the kind of a dollar which meant the world to me, and there wasn’t anything in this world that I would have traded it for. My dollar tested and evaluated minds of many people and it discovered the truth for twelve years, as it traveled with me no matter where I’d go. I can tell you America, that “little people” around the world always loved you and they still do, but I am sad to also tell you that you do not have any “big friends.”

In 1961, I carried with me my one dollar bill back to its home, to its birthplace, and to his own mother’s hands. It was then that I once again thanked God and America for all of their help. It was at this time when I first set my foot on the American soil that I knew my wishes and my dreams of so many years have been fulfilled. I was now able to “taste” the beautiful, peaceful life that America offered. At the same time, I was not longer able to live my life with my good friend, the one dollar bill I possessed and carried with me for so many years. This bill woke up my tender mind and aided me to think and learn about life. It was not easy to depart from my good friend and send my first treasured piece of good luck out there to go from hand to hand. As I slowly let go of it, I had fond flashback memories of the day, of the hour, when I had the fortune to receive it in the first place. It was an unbelievable experience for me, and I am unable to express my exact feelings of how lucky I felt at that moment. Only God, my one dollar bill, and I could relate to that special moment, but we all knew how many other people in this world were also waiting and praying to God and America to help them, as well.

On the second day of my arrival to America, and on the second day of walking on the soil of this great land, I began to think about America and the world that’s around us. I remember how I reached into my pocket very slowly, pulled out my wallet and faced my one dollar bill as I said, “Today, before the sun sets, you must go and help the world.” I put my friend back in my pocket and walked down a street where I saw a store. I walked inside and, there, I bought my first pair of something every person could use. Yes, it was underwear. I took out my friend, my one dollar bill, and before I reluctantly departed with it, I kissed it and said, “Now, go out there, from hand to hand and help build their hopes as you once helped build mine.” The dollar left my hand and I was left with an empty wallet, holding a brand new pair of underwear. However, I was left with a hope, and the same wish that the sun expresses to this nature and the world, each day as it shows its face to us.

America, you always possessed certain beauty and you still do. You were able to do what the world could not, and you must do what the world couldn’t and will not do. Not so long ago, you adopted, and the world adopted, what our nature’s health cannot; you adopted a child. Now, this world needs you. It is at our present time, and at a time which our nature faces, that I am unable to separate the American power from God and His nature’s power. No matter how I examine and look at our life, freedom health and the philosophy of life, I cannot, in any way, see how the bottom can be separated from the top. America, you need the world, and, World, you need America and its life’s drops. However, World, please try not to ever squeeze out the last drop, because its taste will be neither sour nor sweet.

I am kindly asking the world not to burry my life’s philosophy, because the soil of that grave may not want to accept it. America, you are the mother of our world. Please, make a sharp turn, as quickly as you possibly can, and no matter what can happen, and will happen, follow God and the power of His nature. You will not fail, in your attempt, to find what this nature is missing, and more importantly, the entire world will follow your footsteps. You, America, have the sole power to do what the rest of the world cannot, and will not do. Save, not only yourself, but also your child, the beautiful world.

World, as I am coming to the end of this writing, I’d like to leave you with my last wish; it is the very same wish that the sun possesses at its daily morning’s rise, “Today is for tomorrow!”

Divorce Is Bad For The Environment

Jianguo “Jack” Liu, a Distinguished Professor of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University, has published a study that shows that divorce is bad for the environment. (Proceedings of the National Academy of Science}

With rising divorce rates, there are more households with fewer people, thereby taking up more space per person and using up more energy and water. A refrigerator, for example, uses roughly the same amount of energy whether it belongs to a family of four or one parent and child. Liu estimates that Americans spend an extra $3.6 billion annually on water as a result of the extra households created when people divorce.

Turns out that this is not just a problem in the United States. Around the world, even in developing countries and places like China with strict religious policies on divorce, personal commitments are not being kept and those policies are being ignored. Divorce rates are rising, leading to a profound assault on the environment because a married household actually uses resources more efficiently than a divorced household. The number of rooms per person in divorced households is 33% to 95% greater than in married households.

I figure, if you can make noise and a commitment to the environment, you ought to be able to make love and a commitment to your marriage…if for no other reason than saving the environment.

Oh yes, interesting news on Bloomberg.com. It seems that the energy being used to get all those folks to the United Nations meeting on climate change in Bali, Indonesia, will cost in energy use the equivalent of 20,000 cars emitting pollutants one year.

Can’t they all stay home and just have a conference call?

We ARE At War

Hey folks,

I just posted the President’s Radio Address yesterday. It was all about the FAILURE of Congress to support the Troops in the time of War. It was all about the fact, they would rather attempt things outside their Constitutional role, undermined the President, and continue to play political games, instead of ACTUALLY DOING something.

He said, “This week Congress considered a defense authorization bill. An authorization bill is a pledge to spend money. Under such a bill, Congress will make a promise to fund our troops in combat. But a congressional promise -- even if enacted -- does not pay the bills. It is time for Congress to provide our troops with actual funding."

Then he said this. “Congress has had plenty of time to consider the emergency funds our troops need. Time is running out. And Pentagon officials say that continued delay in funding our troops will soon begin to have a damaging impact on the operations of our military. Congress' responsibility is clear: They must deliver vital funds for our troops -- and they must do it before they leave for Christmas. Our men and women on the front lines will be spending this holiday season far from their families and loved ones. And this Christmas, they deserve more than words from Congress. They deserve action.”

Congress continues to play games. Thousands of civilians WILL be out of work because funds will be taken from the to support the troops. What Congress should be doing. The sad thing is there are still some in this country that want to say, “There is no war.” Well my friends, here are two stories you will most likely not see in the Main Stream Press. Both from the Wire, both from the U.S. Department of Justice

First up.

TOLEDO, Ohio, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Gregory A. White, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, today announced that a federal grand jury in Cleveland returned a new indictment charging two of the defendants in the pending Toledo terrorism case, Zubair Ahmed and his cousin, Khaleel Ahmed, both of Chicago, Illinois, with a single count of conspiring to commit terrorist acts against Americans overseas. Zubair Ahmed, age 28, and his cousin, Khaleel Ahmed, age 27, are both U.S. citizens, and reside in the Chicago, Illinois, area.

The new indictment charges Zubair Ahmed and Khaleel Ahmed with conspiring, together and with others, to "kill, kidnap or maim persons outside of the United States, to include U.S. armed forces personnel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan," in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 956(a)(1).

The new indictment alleges a conspiracy from "at least as early as April 2004 through in or about February 2007." Some, but not all, of the defendants' activity alleged in the new indictment is also alleged in the conspiracy charged in Count One of the pending Toledo indictment in the case of United States v. Mohammad Zaki Amawi, et al. That case is currently set for trial in March 2008.

If convicted, each defendant's sentence will be determined by the Court after review of factors unique to this case, including the defendant's prior criminal record, if any, the defendant's role in the offense and the characteristics of the violation. In all cases, the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum and, in most cases, it will be less than the maximum.

The maximum statutory penalties upon conviction for the charged offense are as follows:

18 U.S.C. Section 956(a)(1): 35 years imprisonment (if conspiracy to maim) or life imprisonment (if conspiracy to kill);

In addition, a $250,000 fine could be imposed, as well as a period of supervised release of up to 5 years following imprisonment.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Thomas E. Getz and Justin E. Herdman of the National Security Unit of the United States Attorney's Office in Cleveland, and AUSA Gregg N. Sofer of the United States Attorney's Office in Austin, Texas (formerly of the Department of Justice, Counterterrorism Section) with assistance from Trial Attorneys Jerome J. Teresinski and David I. Miller of the Counterterrorism Section of the Justice Department's National Security Division. The new indictment follows an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Chicago, Illinois, Toledo, Ohio, and Atlanta, Georgia.

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government's burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

The second?

WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Two men who were part of a domestic terrorist cell pleaded guilty this morning to federal terrorism charges, admitting that they conspired to attack United States military operations, "infidels," and Israeli and Jewish facilities in the Los Angeles area.

The two men - Kevin James, who formed the terror group while in a California state prison, and Levar Washington, who was recruited by James while in state prison and recruited others into the plot - pleaded guilty to conspiring to wage war against the United States.

A third member of the radical Islamic organization which James dubbed Jam'iyyat Ul-Islam Is-Saheeh, or JIS - Gregory Patterson - is expected to plead guilty to the terrorism conspiracy charge on Monday. The fourth member of JIS named in an indictment - Hammad Samana - has been found unfit to stand trial and is currently receiving psychiatric care at a federal prison facility.

"We are keenly aware of the threat posed by home-grown terrorism. As the guilty pleas today demonstrate, we will continue to identify and disrupt extremist cells before they can inflict harm. This case demonstrates how law enforcement cooperation at all levels thwarted a domestic plot that targeted U.S. military facilities as well as Israeli and Jewish facilities in the Los Angeles area," said Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey.

FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III stated: "This is a case in which a terrorist cell grew out of a prison cell. Despite the fact that they had no connection to al-Qaeda leaders, they had adopted their cause. These home-grown terrorists had raised the money, recruited the people, chosen the targets, obtained the weapons and set the date. All they had left to do was to strike. The JIS case is an outstanding example of how the Joint Terrorist Task Force system works. A local crime yielded clues that pointed to terrorism. That information was brought to the JTTF and soon over 300 FBI personnel and police officers were tracking suspects and unraveling the plot. It was the superb partnership between law enforcement agencies that prevented that."

U.S. Attorney Thomas P. O'Brien commented: "The prevention of future terrorist attacks is the number one priority of the Justice Department, and the investigation and successful prosecution of the JIS terrorist organization stands out as a landmark case in Southern California. With the defendants considering a series of targets to attack - including U.S. Army personnel, synagogues and others perceived as 'infidels' - this terror plot had reached an advanced level. Because these men were driven by ideological fervor, had a demonstrated ability to obtain weapons, and had planned attacks on identified targets, an untold number of lives may have been saved when this terrorist cell was dismantled."

In plea agreements filed this morning and court proceedings conducted this morning in United States District Court in Santa Ana, James and Washington admitted that they conspired "to levy war against the government of the United States through terrorism, and to oppose by force the authority of the United States government."

FBI Assistant Director in Charge Salvador Hernandez said: "Law enforcement personnel at all levels put forth a tremendous effort to put this case together and the proof of that is evident today. A terrorist attack on the city of Los Angeles, hatched in our midst and on our soil, was thwarted in the advanced planning stage. This case is a perfect example of the Joint Terrorism Task Force in that no single agency could have done this alone."

After forming JIS in 1997 while in state prison, James recruited Washington into the organization in late 2004 while both were prisoners at New Folsom Prison, where James had Washington swear an oath of loyalty and obedience to James and to JIS. After his release from prison several weeks after taking the JIS oath, Washington recruited Patterson and Samana into JIS and had them swear oaths of allegiance and obedience to JIS. After forming this cell, Washington and Patterson conducted about a dozen armed robberies of gas stations to supply money for the group's planned attacks in the Los Angeles area.

Samana researched targets and prepared a document called "Modes of Attack." The document listed "LAX and Consulate of Zion," "Military Targets," "Army Recruiting centers throughout the county," "Military base in Manhattan Beach" and "Campsite of Zion."

After Torrance Police investigators linked the two to a gas station robbery, various Jihadist documents were found at a South Los Angeles apartment where Washington and Patterson lived. In addition to the "Modes of Attack" document, investigators discovered a document titled "Notoriety Moves," which contained a James-authored statement to be given to the media after a deadly attack. The proposed press statement reads, in part, "This incident is the first in a series of incidents to come in a plight to defend and propagate traditional Islam in its purity." The document also warns "sincere Muslims" to avoid a series of targets, including "Those Jewish and non-Jewish supporters of an Israeli state."

Torrance Police Chief John J. Neu said: "I am proud of the dedication and professionalism displayed by all involved in this critical case. The awareness, knowledge, skills and abilities of the officers involved effectively thwarted this terrorist plot. This case is a prime example of the powerful radical influence which poses a serious threat from within right here in Southern California. Today's announcement shows that through teamwork we can effectively combat this threat. Unity is the key."

Los Angeles Police Deputy Chief Michael Downing, Commanding Officer, Counter-Terrorism and Criminal Intelligence Bureau, stated: "This case was an outstanding example of cooperation between local, state and federal law enforcement and in particular the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) model. It also illustrates that the best information comes from the cops on the beat and those involved in criminal investigations, hence the all-crimes approach to terrorism prevention. Homegrown terrorism remains a grave concern for the security of our country and this cell was closer to going operational than any we have seen post-911. Jamiyyat UI Is Saheeh (JIS), translated as Assembly of Authentic Islam, practiced a form radicalized Islam that was neither authentic nor peaceful."

James and Patterson pleaded guilty this morning before United States District Judge Cormac J. Carney, who is scheduled to sentence James on March 31 and Washington on April 28. As a result of his guilty plea, James faces a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison. Washington, who also pleaded guilty to using a firearm in relation to the terrorist plot, faces up to 25 years in prison.

"Investigators from the Office of Correctional Safety dedicated a significant amount of time and resources to this case. Our department has a long history of dealing with prison gangs and inmates who advocate violence. We assist our law enforcement partners on many investigations to root out criminal organized enterprise activity in our prisons," said Undersecretary David L. Runnels, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The investigation into the terrorist conspiracy was led by the FBI's Long Beach Joint Terrorism Task Force, whose participating agencies include the Los Angeles Police Department; U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; the Torrance Police Department; the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department; the Long Beach Police Department; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; the Los Angeles Port Police; U.S. Customs and Border Protection; the U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Service; the Defense Criminal Investigative Service; and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Redondo Beach Police Department.

Substantial assistance during the investigation was provided by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Bureau of Investigations; the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation; the California Department of Justice; the Drug Enforcement Administration; the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations; and the Department of Defense. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office worked collaboratively with the United States Attorney's Office during the investigation.

You see folks, the enemy is not only out there, but they are in here also. In more ways than one. Truth is that they have been at war with us all the way back to the first Bush Presidency, all through the Clinton Presidency, until Bush the second, said enough is enough. We haven’t been attacked since. Some of the policies set up by President Bush have prevented attacks over and over again. He IS doing HIS job, keeping America safe. Now Congress must do more than show, they MUST do their job.

H.S. For Sunday 121607

Hey folks,

I know some of you are going to thing that this is a parody. Some may even think I’m joking. I’m really not. I am putting a shout out to ANY mental health expert out there. Someone, ANYONE , please tell me where to submit a request to certify BDS as an actual mental disorder. Seriously. I am greatly concerned for those that suffer from it. Time is running out.

Look, I have good friends, some Liberal, but hey, no one is perfect. But I have some good friends and some that I RESPECT GREATLY. Some I have debated over the last ten years. Some I have had heated debates with. Some have changed my opinion and actual belief on this or that topic. Some I have changed. All was right with the world. Until 2000.

I really do not understand. These people are smart, articulate, able to think for themselves. Wrong most of the time, but still very respected by me. But after 2000, we started to see signs that something may be wrong. First was the twitch. You could still debate them. You could still reason with them. But anytime the name Bush was mentioned, you saw a twitch. You got things like “He stole the election.” “The election was fixed.” “Those racist, hatemongering, chauvinistic, Homophobes, stole the election.” Blah, blah, blah.

The twitch came and went for a couple of years. Talks of impeachment lit up their faces. Thoughts of revenge for Clinton. Thoughts of taken back the White House played out in their dreams. Still able to talk to them. Debate them. Still intelligent, articulate, functional.

Then came 2004. Bush won re-election, basically, in a landslide. They lost their minds. The could not believe it. They reverted back to 2000. They called him names. They started to lose their ability to be articulate. They started losing their ability to think for themselves. They started believing one conspiracy theory after another. ACTUALLY believing them.

Then when the new hope dawned, 2006, the Democrats won the Senate and the House. ECSTATIC! Almost orgasmic. Now they we going to get even. Now they were going to get Bush. Now,,OK, first attempt failed. That’s OK, they got Media Matters, MoveON.org, nearly all the Liberal Main Stream Media, on their side. Congress will end the war, handing the loss to Bush, fight Bush on all things. They will GET Bush. What happened? With everything on their side? Nothing. Nothing happened. Congress has done NOTHING. This dumb Christian Hick that is the President outsmarts them daily.

One reason for this? One reason for the fact they can DO NOTHING. The truth. One name? RUSH. That’s right, like him or not, Rush Limbaugh is their worse nightmare. The rest of the new media, people like Hannity and many others, Fox News, alone with Bloggers such as yours truly, keep exposing these people for who they are and what they are REALLY trying to do .The more and more people learn the truth, the worse and worse they are.

So now, with about a year to go, until the General Election, along with their possible nominees starting to play dirty with each other, those that suffer from full fledged BDS, are? Well, they are STILL obsessed with Bush. President Bush is NOT ON THE TICKET! Bush is GONE. There is NO possibility of him being President again.

This fact does not matter to those with Bush Derangement Syndrome. They are still trying to get Bush. Even though they are in GREAT risk of LOSING the House and the Senate, even though their inevitable candidate Hillary Clinton is not looking so inevitable anymore, they STILL focus on Bush. Everything from Global Warming, Hurricanes, the war, and the poor, are being blamed on Bush. These people are sick.

This is my concern. What is going to happen to these people when Bush is GONE? Seriously. What are they going to do? They are going to need help. Someone call Pfizer or Merek. They are going to need something to help cope. They are going to need psychological assistance.

I care about these people. They are good people. It’s not their fault they have become this way. They are sick and need help. Maybe we can set up a Bush fund to help out. But this all starts with certification.

This acts like a REAL disorder, let’s start treating it as such.

IWA for Sunday 121607

Hey folks,

It’s SUNDAY! Time for the IWA.

This is the continuing saga of the adventures of Rat Man. Last time we saw our hero Rat Man, he was battling President Evil and his second in command Darth Cheney. The date was November 25, 2007. He was fighting for his ultimate Terrorist Crime Tool, a Department of Peace in his administration. Still, whatever that means. The whole time trying to stir up an Impeachment call.

He failed, and will continue to. But that will not stop Rat Man. Now he is leading the charge to bring back the past. Yes folks, he feels that if he can remind you of the 2000 Presidential THEFT of the Presidency, he will finally conquer the Evil Duo. Meanwhile, make some money at the same time.

According the USA Today - Kucinich Christmas: Hanging chads for all

WASHINGTON — Dennis Kucinich has an answer for your holiday gift-giving: a Palm Beach County voting machine from the 2000 election "containing actual chads," with a "replica butterfly ballot" and a letter signed by Kucinich proclaiming "the stolen presidential election of 2000."

{Sigh}The sad thing, people are BUYING them. Well, three at least.

Kucinich, a Democratic presidential candidate, is trying to sell 1,200 of the machines through a Florida supporter and collector Jim Dobyns. Kucinich just started offering the machines on his campaign website at $219.95, plus shipping — with all the features described above. As of Wednesday, he'd sold three.

Yes, Rat Man, the hopeless candidate, on his ever continuing quest, will not be denied. Congratulations Rat Man, you HAVE done something no one has ever done before, win the IWA twice in two months.

Will Rat Mat be successful? Will he over come all the odds and finally beat President Evil and Darth Cheney? Tune in next time. Same Rat time, same Rat channel.

Presidential Radio Address For Saturday 121507

President Bush: "Good morning.

In a time of war, America's top priority should be to ensure that our troops on the front lines get the funding they need. So beginning in February, I submitted detailed funding requests to Congress to fund operations in the war on terror. Congress has had months to pass this funding. Unfortunately, with just days to go before members leave for their Christmas vacation, they still have not come through with these funds.

This week Congress considered a defense authorization bill. An authorization bill is a pledge to spend money. Under such a bill, Congress will make a promise to fund our troops in combat. But a congressional promise -- even if enacted -- does not pay the bills. It is time for Congress to provide our troops with actual funding.

The stakes are high for our men and women on the front lines. Our troops are striking blows against the terrorists and extremists in Iraq and Afghanistan -- and these funds are critical to their continued success. The funds I have requested include money to carry out combat operations against the enemy. They include money to train the Iraqi and Afghan security forces to take on more responsibility for the defense of their countries. They include money for civilian agencies deployed in the field with our military to help build local governments and create jobs. And they include money for intelligence operations to protect our troops on the battlefield.

Congress has had plenty of time to consider the emergency funds our troops need. They deserve action.

Thank you for listening."

Quick Check In

Hey folks,

Just a quick check in and to say thanks.

First, a sincere THANK YOU You folks have absolutely taken me up on the From The Emails Segment suggestion. After having that annoying interruption this past Wednesday, I checked the Emails on Thursday morning. Now, I have been able to, from time to time, do a couple of days worth of articles, stories, or comments from the Emails. However, for the past few days, I realize, I could do the whole thing STICKILY from the things YOU send me.

I not exaggerating in the least. I really could do this whole thing and NEVER scan the news myself. There is some GREAT stuff in there. I will not be able to use it all, but really, there is GREAT stuff. Of course also, there is some stuff in there I can NOT share. {Smile} But I love it. Keep it up.

Some up coming stuff. We have a fill in host, if you will, this Monday. I will not be here. Actually, we will have two in the next few days.

First up, Dr. Laura. YUP THE Dr. Laura. She will be talking about, well, here is a little preview.

Dear Peter,

Did you know that divorce can actually be bad for the environment? That's the conclusion reached in a study done by a professor at Michigan State University.

{Laughing} You are going to love this one. That’s this Monday.

As a matter of fact. Check this out. The UN has settled the Global Warming Crisis. You remember the last chance to save the planet? Well, they have agreed to a plan, to talk about it more later. {Laughing} Maybe in a year or so. {Depending on who our new President is} According to the AP- UN eyes global warming pact by 2009

In a dramatic finish to a U.N. climate conference, world leaders adopted a plan Saturday for negotiating a new global warming pact by 2009, after the United States backed down in a battle over wording supported by developing nations and Europe.

The rest of it is how America is to blame for all the world problems. We are evil. We do not care. We will not sign over our sovereignty to be controlled by those that hate us. Blah Blah Blah. Same old GW Bunk. Got to love it. The solution to this “Last Chance” is to agree to talk more. Next year or later. {Laughing}

Anyway, on Tuesday, we have an old friend back for a second time around. Croatian author Radenko Fanuka will be here talking about God and America. He joined us back on October 22, 2007 when he shared with us “21st Century’s Dormant Spring.”

Fret not, I WILL be here tomorrow for the normal Sunday edition of the OPN. I will also be back on Wednesday. With the Holidays coming up, and all that, I am EXTREMELY busy. I think you will enjoy the guests in my absence. Most likely, more than you enjoy me sometimes. {Smile}

See you then.
Peter

Two, Further Evidence There Is No Consensus

Hey folks,

Happy Friday to you. You know, even yet today, there are still Sheeple out there believing in this garbage. It's all because of stories like this one. From The New Zealand Herold - Conference the world's 'last chance to avoid catastrophic global warming' 12:00PM Sunday December 02, 2007 By Geoffrey Lean

Rich countries are rapidly increasing the pollution that causes global warming to record levels - despite having solemnly undertaken to reduce it, three devastating new official reports reveal.

Emissions of greenhouse gases and their accumulation in the atmosphere are higher than they have ever been, and unless policies are urgently reversed "catastrophic" climate change is inevitable, they warn.

We are all going to DIE!

The reports - from three separate UN organisations - form the strongest and most authoritative condemnation of Western climate policies yet.

They are made public as representatives of nearly 200 governments fly into Bali, Indonesia, this weekend for the most crucial negotiations on global warming for years.

The talks, which open tomorrow, are to start discussing a successor to the present agreement under the Kyoto Protocol, which runs out in five years' time, having failed to measure up to the escalating climate crisis.

Experts say it is the world's "last chance" to avoid disaster.

It is inevitable. We are all going to die! We are killing the planet!

And they follow the harshest warning yet from the congenitally cautious official Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Its latest report predicted that, if present trends continue, harvests in much of Africa could be halved by 2020, the Amazon rainforest will turn to dry savannah, and the Greenland icecap will completely melt, raising sea levels worldwide by over 30ft.

Scifi.

The first of the new reports, by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the body organising the Bali conference, shows that total emissions of greenhouse gases n mainly carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide n by the world's 40 industrialised nations have risen to "to an all-time high", although they are supposed to be diminishing under the Kyoto Protocol.

Under the 1997 Kyoto treaty, rich nations undertook to cut emissions of the gases by a modest total of about 5 per cent of 1990 levels by 2012.

But, 10 years later, the report shows that the Westernised economies that signed up to it have instead increased them by 11 per cent.

Pollution by the former Eastern Bloc countries - whose economies collapsed after the fall of the Berlin Wall - has been steadily increasing.

Besides, the US and Australia - the two industrialised countries that rejected the treaty - have both vastly increased emissions and they have also risen sharply in key developing countries such as China and India.

The result is spelled out in the second report, by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), which concludes that concentrations of both carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide in the atmosphere have reached record levels n causing the planet to heat up faster than ever before.

The WMO's annual Greenhouse Gas Bulletin shows that the amount of carbon dioxide n the main greenhouse gas, responsible for about two-thirds of man-made global warming, mainly released by burning fossil fuels n jumped by some 2 per cent last year, one of its sharpest-ever rises.

The rate of increase has accelerated markedly since the 1990s.

Concentrations are now 36 per cent higher than during the 10,000 years leading up to the beginning of the industrial revolution.

Nitrous oxide - which also comes from burning fossil fuels, as well as from fertiliser and some industrial processes - is also at an all-time high, up 19 per cent from pre-industrial times.

Levels of methane - from rubbish tips, cattle and rice paddies as well as fossil fuels - fell slightly - but increased by 250 per cent since the industrial revolution.

Together, the heating of the Earth by greenhouse gases has grown by 22.7 per cent since 1990.

The third report, the United Nations Development Programme's Human Development Report, says: "If the next 15 years of emissions follow the linear trend of the past 15, dangerous climate change will become unavoidable.

"On the basis of current trends and present policies, concentrations of carbon dioxide could rise by more than 50 per cent over 2005 levels by 2030".

It goes on: "Political action continues to fall far short of the minimum needed to resolve the climate change problem. The gap between scientific evidence and political response remains large."

It adds that most of the rich countries that have signed up to Kyoto "are off track for achieving their commitments".

Both it and the UNFCCC report name names.

They show, for example, that the two industrialised countries that have abjured the treaty have both massively increased emissions of greenhouse gases.

The United States has swelled them by 16 per cent, and Australia by 25 per cent, over 1990 levels.

But some countries that have undertaken to observe Kyoto, such as Ireland, Canada, Greece, Spain and Portugal, have performed even worse.

Each party to the treaty was set its own binding target.

But only four countries - Germany, France, Sweden and Britain - are on track to meet them.

Even some of those that are on course can thank other factors besides conscious policies.

Germany owes four-fifths of its reductions to the restructuring of the east of the country's economy following reunification, though it has since introduced radical measures to save energy and to promote renewable sources such as solar power.

Britain, which has taken few such steps, comes in for particular criticism in the UNDP report, exploding ministers' constant claims to be "leading the world" in tackling global warming.

The report points out, as frequently argued by The Independent on Sunday, that the UK achieved its cuts by switching away from coal following Mrs Thatcher's defeat of the miners, and that emissions have actually risen since Labour came to power (see box).

Environmentalists hope that the talks that start tomorrow in Bali will usher in something much better, before it is too late.

Philip Clapp, head of the Washington-based National Environment Trust, says: "Fifteen years of international negotiations have not yet produced a comprehensive agreement that will get developed countries to begin serious reductions."He adds: "The framework for such an agreement must come out of the Bali meeting.

The scientists are telling us that this is the world's last shot at avoiding the worst consequences of global warming."

Yet for the past 20 years, NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. Al Gore gave us ten years, about 12 years ago. The seas were suppose to have died off 8 years ago. The last two years were SUPPOSE to be the worst Hurricanes in history. There was just a report that the Arctic Ice is FREEZING at a faster pace this year than predicted. They say it will be a sunny day, yet it rains. Yet we are suppose to believe them when they tell us that they KNOW what is happening ten years from know. They are WRONG every time.

So they believe, I don't think they really do, but they believe that this is real. That we are destroying the planet. That this conference is the worlds last chance to survive. So what happened after the conference? Well, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said this.

"Realistically it would be too ambitious to set guidelines now." While urging Washington to be flexible. Later he added, "Practically speaking, this is going to have to be negotiated down the road."

{Laughing} We are all going to die. This is the last chance. But, wait, we really cannot do anything about it right now, maybe later. {Laughing}

A lot of different news outlets were reporting in the last couple of days that it is being said that these things are being worked on. That compromises are being made. Like this according to the AP -Bali negotiators tinker with text, seem to fall short of US demands

BALI, Indonesia - A U.S.-European standoff was headed toward a compromise solution Friday at the U.N. climate conference, breaking a deadlock over how ambitious the goal should be in negotiating future cutbacks in global-warming gases, the German environment minister said.

"I think the situation is good and the climate in the climate conference is good, and we will have success in the end," Sigmar Gabriel told reporters.

If it IS such a FACT that we are destroying the planet, and this is it's last chance, WHY would you be tinkering with ANYTHING? Why would you be putting off doing something about it? {Sigh}

Folks, you cut through all the guessing and agenda driven bunk, and you get the truth. Even THEY, the Chicken Little Crowd, do not REALLY believe it. They want YOU to, but they just want power, control, and money. And it IS, just that simple.
