North Korea, "We Will Continue."
Hey Folks,
That’s right. North Korea released a statement early this morning saying,
"The successful missile launches were part of our military's regular military drills to strengthen self-defense. As a sovereign country, this is our legal right and we are not bound by any international law or bilateral or multilateral agreements.
Our military will continue with missile launch drills in the future as part of efforts to strengthen self-defense deterrent. If anyone intends to dispute or add pressure about this, we will have to take stronger physical actions in other forms,"
I do not know how they view these tests as "successful", seeing that they failed, but we are dealing with an insane person here. So if he wants to believe that this was successful, then by all means, believe that.
All this was successful in is bringing the world together to rebuke them. Of course there are small disagreements on how much of a rebuke it should be, but a rebuke it is. Japan, asked for a U.N. Security Council resolution Wednesday that would ban any country from transferring funds, material and technology that could be used in North Korea's missile and weapons of mass destruction programs. China and Russia, on the other hand, said that they favor a weaker council statement without any threat of sanctions.
Are you kidding? I understand that they may be a little scared of the possibility that this wacko may actually activate one of his nukes, but what do they suppose will aid in the "talks"?
Now I understand that they all pretty much failed, and the long rang missile failed something like 35 seconds into the flight. But that doesn’t mean that they cannot fix the problem. This is the REASON for tests.
President Bush reacted in his normal mode of sarcasm and resolve. He said,
"One thing we have learned is that the rocket didn't stay up very long and tumbled into the sea, which doesn't, frankly, diminish my desire to solve this problem,"
He urged world leaders to stand united in demanding that North Korea give up its nuclear weapons program, saying the communist nation remains a threat even though its long-range missile faltered.
This is heating up at light speed folks. I hope a resolution can and will be passed soon. I wonder how many will echo North Korea, when they said, "As a sovereign country, this is our legal right and we are not bound by any international law or bilateral or multilateral agreements." Oh, wait, they cannot echo them. This is the opposite argument that some are making about us. In other word, to help some of my friends in understanding the point, those that condemn President Bush for not following international law, and agreements, SHOULD be condemning North Korea for the same thing. Right?
No, this is probably our fault too.. Wait a second, it IS our fault. President Clinton GAVE them the technology and fuel to do this. I can hear him know, "It’s not my fault. They promised not to build nuclear weapons." and the Left STILL believe they have a cake walk in the up coming elections. Amazing.

They Did It. North Korea Tested Missiles
Hey folks,
Well, it appears that according to Interfax news agency and General Yuri Baluevsky of Russia, North Korea launched a total of 10 missiles. The Russian General said,
"Our control systems can confirm that the rockets were launched." He said, "Ten rockets were launched. According to one set of data, they were rockets of different classes. According to another set of data, they were all intercontinental. I can only say what class they were after receiving the technical data."
Earlier this morning, Russia's foreign ministry condemned North Korea’s missile launches.
Simply put folks, The United States, Japan, Australia, South Korea and other countries have urged North Korea to abandon any missile firing. North Korea fueled the missiles. Planed the launch. Now did launch. Their reason? North Korea says it needs nuclear weapons and a delivery system to counter what it contends are U.S. intentions to invade or topple the government. Of course this is not true.
This prompted Secretary Rice to say,
"It would be a very serious matter and, indeed, a provocative act should North Korea decide to launch that missile," That it "would once again show North Korea is determined to deepen its isolation, determined not to take a path that is a path of compromise and a path of peace, but rather instead to once again saber-rattle."
They did it. Now of course at this point we do not know if any of them were their 116-foot-long missile that has a firing range of 9,300 miles that could reach as far as the U.S. West Coast or not, but if they launched 10 to cover the one, this will be a major problem.
As the day goes on, I hope we get more and accurate information on if this is the case. The world warned them. They may have done it anyway. Let’s see if the world rebukes them now.

Retribution. Plain and Simple.
Hey folks,
I wrote this article Monday morning. I decided to go with the Reason for the SC Ruling article because I wanted to see if anyone else would point these things out today. I didn’t see nor hear anything about it. So, it’s up to your's truly, to point out the obvious.
Did you catch the NYT Weekend With The President's Men article this weekend? There is only one way to describe it. Retribution. Plain and simple. Someone needs to address the New York Times and more specifically it’s editor, Bill Keller. Let’s break it down a little bit for some of my LWL friends that may need assistance to think on their own.
Not to mention reporting NOTHING but negatives from the "front", {A posh hotel room where they hunt and peck for the bad} the NYT "breaks" the wire tapping story. This was proven to be false. Then they "break" the story of the top secret money tracking system, causing this most effective tool to be done away with. Did I mention we are at war. I know this is a hard concept for the NYT. I know this is a hard concept for the intelligent deficient Mr. Keller.
What they did stirred major controversy. Many are calling for them to be investigated after MANY on BOTH side of the isle asked them not to run it, including Mr. anti-war/ anti Bush himself, Democratic Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania.
Now this weekend, in a time or war, the NYT decides to print this story. It tells EXACTLY where you can find the Vice President’s, and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld’s houses. It tell you where, describes them, and even tells you how much they paid.
One of the things that is TRULY amazing is the fact that it leads with a picture of Donald Rumsfled’s house including his security camera’s. In case you miss it, they TELL you, "There’s a lens in his bird house."
It names among others, Joe Trippi, Howard Dean’s presidential campaign manager in 2004, just to say they were not just signaling out Republicans. Now it goes on to talk about the town, which is just basically fluff to "fool", or better yet, give the LWL something to say about it other than what it is.
Come on folks, are you serious? You are telling me that printing an EXACT location, description, complete with photo’s of their security systems, of the homes of these powerful players in the war, is NOT retaliation for them speaking out and calling for them to be punished for their blatant disregard for American citizens safty?
I have a suggestion for the NYT. Why not just change your name to the al-Qaeda Times and get it over with. Or how about just move to Iraq and give them the paper for free. Someone needs to deal with this situation and they NEED to bring the NYT down a few notches.
Never before in our history have we had this blatant recklessness, and disregard for the security of this country during a time of war, by a major news organization. Never before in the history of this country have we had a news organization completely manipulate the news, including just plain making things up, to attack our President on a nearly daily bases. Never.
The NYT is COMPLETELY out of control and it needs to be reined in and kept in check. There is such a thing as limiting information in a time of war. Mr. Keller needs to go minim. He may indeed need to be charged. He knows EXACTLY what he is doing. If he will not stop, then he needs to be stopped, and it IS, just that simple.

Here’s The Reason For the Insane SC Ruling
Hey folks,
You see many wanted to know WHY the Supreme Court would rule in such a way that has NEVER been before, saying the President Bush had no authority for the Guantanamo military tribunals. They said that it violated the Geneva Conventions. This is just so far out there that even layman understood that Al-Qaida does not represent any one nation therefore they do NOT fall under the Geneva Conventions guidelines. If there was any question as to what was behind the INSANE Supreme Court ruling that said, in essence, prisoners of war and "Enemy Combatants" have "Rights" equal to US citizens, here it is.
Senior Democrats, seeking to capitalize on the courts ruling, called on Sunday for a broader review of whether President George W. Bush had overstepped his war powers. They say that this ruling opens the door for a closer look at complaints he had improperly bypassed Congress in other areas as well.
Of course you have the "new" attack, with the same players, in full force mode. Sen. Charles Schumer of New York hammering out letters and using phrases like Bush’s power being"infinite and unchecked by anybody" and seeking a review of "all their other arrogations of power." He also said, echoing Sen. Jack Reed a Rhode Island Democrat,"We're not only going to have to look at this issue, we're going to have to go back to other issues as well because this ruling undercuts some of the other things the president has done," he told NBC's "Meet the Press."
Sen. Reed said the Supreme Court decision had "opened up challenges" to some of the administration's anti-terrorism measures.
"This is something that I think that we're going to have to consider as members of Congress and also the administration has to consider," he told Fox News.
Others are behind closed doors as we speak trying to formulate their attack plans. Then you have the EXTREMELY funny statement by California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos, who warned Republicans they would "rue the day if they politicize this." LOL If THEY politicize this?
Sen. John McCain wants Congress to craft a new system for trying Guantanamo inmates. Their legal limbo has drawn international condemnation. He told ABC,
"All of us and the president has said he'd like to see Guantanamo shut down, but it's not Guantanamo itself, it's the status of these detainees," He said he wants and feels that Congress and the administration would reach agreement to "make sure that bad guys, are not released and those who deserve to be released will be."
Look folks, it is really simple. This is an election year. BOTH sides hope to seek political advantage on the national security issue as the midterm congressional elections in November continue to get ever so close.
Basically, this ruling could be overturned at anytime by congress and the President. But the President has already said he would work with Congress on new rules for trying Guantanamo prisoners but has insisted the ruling is not a wider rebuke of the president's policies.
It really is NOT the Bush Administration trying to politicize this, Sen. Feinstein. It is YOU and those on your side playing those games you lose so well. You will lose this one too.

IWA for Sunday July 2nd 2006,
Hey folks,
You know, there are a lot of great steakhouses all around the world. Chances are there is a GREAT steakhouse in your town. I have been highly recommend to Ruth’s Cris Steakhouse. But have not had the opportunity to check it out. I do LOVE a good steak. My favorite is only here in sunny Florida. Jensen Beach to be exact. That is Peter’s Steakhouse. {No relation. Smile}
Of all the steakhouses around the world, you have a wide variety to chose form. With that variety, come the variety of prices. You can pay anywhere from $8.00 to $100.00 for a good steak dinner. I have paid the gambit.
However, I would never pay $1000.00 a plate dinner just to hobnob with politicians, or movie stars. I would never pay $5000.00 a plate for a charity. I do believe in charities, and paid my share, but to pay $5000.00 for a steak would be out of the question for me.
Well, If I would not pay that, you can imagine what I thought when I heard that one man paid $620,100.00 for a steak dinner. That’s right, $620,100.00.
Now I know that the money is going for charity. I understand the concept of "Hey, if you have it," but I feel this was just a move to hobnob with the second richest man in the world.
Turns out that Yongping Duan, a 45-year-old investor from Palo Alto, California, won a date with Warren Buffett , using the moniker "fastisslow." He topped a $620,000 bid by "magicyourlife." The week long auction ended Thursday night.
$620,100.00 for a steak dinner at a Manhattan steakhouse,Smith and Wollensky That better be one good steak. Now I know that this is going to the Glide Foundation, a San Francisco non-profit that helps the poor, hungry and homeless, and I understand that the restaurant is also donating $10,000 to Glide. This is not a bad thing. But why not just give the money to charity?
Because it is a status thing. Mr. Duan can now brag that he had dinner with Mr. Buffet. What is he dying to talk with Mr. Buffet about? What is it that drove him to bid $620,100.00 for this dinner?
"When you have too much money in your hand, and don't find very good targets, what do you do? I believe he's very good at this kind of thing."
OK. That is a question worth the money. Congratulations Mr. Duan, you receive the IWA award for this week. Hope you enjoy your dinner Sir.

Cow Power.

Can some of our energy problems be solved this way? After all the research, could it be as simple as Cows? I’m still laughing.
According to the article, the Audet family's Blue Spruce Farm make nearly 9,000 gallons of milk a day and about 35,000 gallons of manure. That's a lot of manure. Obviously they wanted to figure out a way to make what they produce more of pay them. They did. Methane that comes form the manure can and DOES produce electricity.
With the help of their power company, Central Vermont Public Service Corp., the Audets have devised a way to extract the methane from the manure and pipe it to a generator.
They make enough electricity to power 300 to 400 average Vermont homes. It's renewable energy, and they're not the only ones interested in it. Four other Vermont farms now have similar projects in the planning or early construction stages, power company officials said.
The Audets "deserve to be congratulated. They're the pioneers among Vermont farmers," said Dave Dunn, a senior energy consultant with CVPS who worked with them on the cow power project.
Elsewhere in the country, farmers are using similar technology to make energy, said Corey Brickl, project manager with Wisconsin-based GHD Inc., which built a device that the Audets use to harvest the methane.
One in Washington uses tomato waste from a salsa factory and waste from a fish stick plant as fuel, Brickl said.
For the Audets, the electricity has created an important new income stream at a time when low wholesale milk prices have squeezed their margin. The utility pays 95 percent of the going New England wholesale power price for electricity from the Audets' generator.
What I find so interesting about this, is that all these years so many people such as developers, businesses, and those that seek new golf courses and condos, have HATED the farmers. They have attempted to take their land, foreclose on their homes, and put them out of business, but now, it just may be those same Farmers that can help us with MAJOR energy problems. Talk about a renewable energy source.
I do not know why this strikes me as so funny. But Cow Power is here to stay.

Is This What We Look Forward To,
Hey folks,
Is NJ the example that we have to look forward to if the Left do pull off a miracle in just 129 days?
We already know that the standard MO of the Left is bigger government, more taxes, and as of late, just simply put, blind and reckless infighting, and fight for power, that accomplishes nothing. Now we may have a sign of things to come if they pull it off.
NJ has shut down. That’s right folks, the Gov. Jon S. Corzine closed the state government today because a constitutional deadline to adopt a new balanced budget passed without agreement. Gov. Corzine signed an executive order just after 9:30 a.m to "Shut it down".this following weeks of budget squabbling among Democrats who control state government but haven't been able to agree on a budget bill. Without a balanced budget, the state has no authority to spend money. The shutdown lasts until a budget agreement is signed.
Immediately about 45,000 state employees were furloughed. State courts were closed for anything but emergencies. State-run parks, beaches and historic sites were to be closed by Wednesday, but were expected to remain open through the July Fourth holiday. Motor vehicle offices planned to close at noon. You get the point.
What started this whole thing was the dispute over Corzine's determination to raise the state sales tax from 6 percent to 7 percent to help close a $4.5 billion budget deficit. Opponents have questioned the need for a sales tax increase, predicting VOTER BACKLASH and demanding that any increase be reserved for property tax reform.
I can hear it now behind the closed doors. "Yes, we must not upset our core base. You know the LWL. Yes we need to fix the budget, and if this was a state with the Republican Gov., we would be calling for his head, demanding that he raise taxes. But this is a Democrat seat and state. If you upset the voters in this election year, it will have terrible consequences for our quest for power in the coming elections."

What I love about the stories I’ve been reading about this, is that they make a big deal about the casino industry is challenging a possible closure in court. Why would the casinos have to close? The casinos could be forced to close because they require state monitoring. They want to get state monitors declared "essential employees" who would stay on the job despite a government shutdown.
LOL Are you kidding? Yes you cannot go to court if you are arrested, but you can go gamble. Is this really what we have to look forward to in 129 day? We already know that the standard MO of the Left is bigger government, more taxes, and as of late, just simply put, blind and reckless infighting, and fight for power, that accomplishes nothing. Now we may have a sign of things to come if they pull it off.
NJ has shut down. That’s right folks, the Gov. Jon S. Corzine closed the state government today because a constitutional deadline to adopt a new balanced budget passed without agreement. Gov. Corzine signed an executive order just after 9:30 a.m to "Shut it down".this following weeks of budget squabbling among Democrats who control state government but haven't been able to agree on a budget bill. Without a balanced budget, the state has no authority to spend money. The shutdown lasts until a budget agreement is signed.
Immediately about 45,000 state employees were furloughed. State courts were closed for anything but emergencies. State-run parks, beaches and historic sites were to be closed by Wednesday, but were expected to remain open through the July Fourth holiday. Motor vehicle offices planned to close at noon. You get the point.
What started this whole thing was the dispute over Corzine's determination to raise the state sales tax from 6 percent to 7 percent to help close a $4.5 billion budget deficit. Opponents have questioned the need for a sales tax increase, predicting VOTER BACKLASH and demanding that any increase be reserved for property tax reform.
I can hear it now behind the closed doors. "Yes, we must not upset our core base. You know the LWL. Yes we need to fix the budget, and if this was a state with the Republican Gov., we would be calling for his head, demanding that he raise taxes. But this is a Democrat seat and state. If you upset the voters in this election year, it will have terrible consequences for our quest for power in the coming elections."

Bell South Corp., were handing over customer phone records to the National Security Agency.
Just Thursday, in a lengthy article and accompanying "note to our readers," the nation's largest-circulation newspaper said it could not confirm that BellSouth or Verizon contracted with the NSA, which is charged with intercepting and analyzing foreign communications to look for possible threats to U.S. national security. USA Today Editor Ken Paulson said in an interview,
"We take every error seriously. This was obviously a big story. All we can do is set the record straight."
You see folks, this is why I call them Mass Media Drones. This is why Rush calls them the "Drive By Media". They lob, shoot, and attack, then go on to the next thing. If they get it wrong, or get CAUGHT making something up, they give you a little blurb and move on to the next screw up. If Mr. Paulson TRULY cared, he would make sure that NOTHING gets published without it being PROVEN accurate.

"As we have stated numerous times, the NSA never contacted BellSouth, and we never supplied customer calling records to the NSA," BellSouth spokesman Jeff Battcher wrote in an e-mail. "In addition we do not and have never had a contract with the NSA."
They are not backing off totally though. The USA Today is still trying to get you to believe that some of it’s article was true. But the threats from the telecommunication companies, made them print this "note to our readers". Not that they REALLY wanted to "Set the record striaght", but because they HAD to.
I said half joking, you want proof? Just checkout the number of corrections ANY given day at the NYT, or any MMD. If they truly wanted to print TRUTH, they would check out the FACTS before printing it.
The USA Today has a long way to go to catch up to the NYT, but they are getting there.

Interesting article in the Washington Journal on Friday about the New York Times article declassifying the top secret money tracking program. I found it interesting to find out that MANY people on both sides of the isle pleaded with the NYT to NOT print the story on the bases that it would hurt our efforts in the War.
There is an extensive list of people who pleaded with the times, Treasury Secretary John Snow, Negroponte, the national intelligence czar, Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton, chairmen of the 9/11 commission, and Democratic Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania. Yes you heard correctly. Murtha was just one of the many that told the NYT this would be a bad thing to do. It would compromise national security, assist the terrorist, and destroy a very productive tool in the War on terror.
They, as you know, ran it anyway. Times Executive Editor Bill Keller is having some serious problems. He said in an almost joking manner back on Tuesday, that critics "are still angry at us" for disclosing the government's domestic eavesdropping program in December, "and I guess in their view, this adds insult to injury. The Bush administration's reaction roused their base, but also roused the anti-Bush base as well," he said, noting an approximately even split in his e-mail.
Well Mr. Keller, you may not be joking for long. This is not going away as you may have hoped for. It is only getting more intense. More and more people, regardless of party status are fed up with the Mass Media Drones. Even the USATODAY is backing off their story about the phone records. Got to love that story folks. But it is the NYT seems to be taking up the poster child position of the LWL controlled media. This is getting serious.
When you have people like New York Rep. Peter King continuing to call for the Times to be prosecuted for violating the 1917 Espionage Act., and calling them "arrogant, elitist," with a "left-wing agenda" Sound familiar? {Smile}Hey his name IS Peter.
Now Keller said, which has been echoed as of late by the normal LWL, and MMD that,
"I always start with the premise that the question is, why should we not publish? Publishing information is our job. What you really need is a reason to withhold information."
How about national security? How about hurting global relationships? How about TREASON? Even YOU, in your article admit that this is not illegal. So what was the point?
The thing I find amazing it that many are arguing "The First Amendment". The freedom of the Press. Freedom of speech. Etc. There is only one problem with this. There are limitations. You cannot yell fire in a crowded theater. You cannot threaten someone with death. You cannot help the enemy in a time of War. I believe very much in the Freedom of the Press. I am a very strong proponent for free speech. But the NYT was so far over the line here, they SHOULD be held accountable.
As much as they would like, this is not going away anytime soon. It is only going to get worse. Maybe they have finally hung themselves with a noose they will not be able to loosen in time. We’ll have to see.

Immigration Matters. Look at the Dutch,
Hey folks,
I’m sure we will be talking more about the NYTs in upcoming days. This is something that I will be following. But I saw and interesting article this morning. Proof that immigration really does matter. Watch and see if the LWL does not follow this example.

You know we have had the immigration debate going on for some time now. It has, as I predicted, been pretty much put on the back burner until after the elections in 130 days. But BOTH sides need to realize that this is an important issue.
They are saying that the trigger of the government collapse and takeover of their Left, was Immigration Minister Rita Verdonk's threat to revoke the Dutch citizenship of Ayaan Hirsi Ali after the popular politician admitted to lying about her name, age and refugee status on her arrival in the Netherlands in 1992. Imagine a politician lying? Glad we do not have that here.{Smile}
This is the third collapse of a government since 2002 came amid rising public concerns over immigration and security. Sound familiar?
If you have time check out the article. I found it to be interesting. The people there have spoken. As they have here. There are a lot of similarities with the Dutch situation and our own. We too are offended and annoyed at the Government over the immigration issue. Here we have a President that wants amnesty for 12 million illegals, and pretty much an open boarder, for Mexicans anyway. The hard Right wants mass deportation and felonies. The hard Left want open boarders, amnesty and rewards for those here. But the difference in us and the Dutch is the MASS number of Independents. Those "middle of the roaders" that are intelligent enough to say, "there must be some kind of compromise. Security first, then we will talk."
Now do not get me wrong. I’m not calling for nor would it ever happen here, although there are some LWL that would LOVE it to happen here, that our government will collapse. But if there is any doubt at all, if this was an important issue, take a look at what does happen elsewhere. We are not alone.

The Fall Of The New York Times?
Hey folks,
It is continuing to look worse and worse for the New York Times. All day yesterday, people after people added their names into the whole "Treason" charge of the paper. For those of you who may not have heard, lol, or those dedicated and completely BLIND folks that follow the NYT like the Religious Right follow the Bible, here’s the deal.
The New York Times leaked information about a top secret banking operation, which was aimed at tracking and stopping terrorist financing and money transfers. This WAS a top secret program that netted MANY arrests and convictions, and prevented and unknown number of attacks. No money, no attacks. But the NYT decided it was no longer needed and declassified the program.
President Bush implored the Times, Washington Post, and other news outlets, not to run their story, but the editors of the NYT decided to disregard the President’s request. Of course I am wondering if it were Clinton, would the NYT held the story? I bet they would have. The Washington Post and others ran with it only AFTER the NYT "broke it. You know as well as I why. Their extreme hatred of President Bush and the fact they are nothing but a tool for the LWL.
Now more and more people are calling for their fall. Sen. Jim Bunning, R-Ky., is just the latest to add his voice to those charging that the New York Times committed treason. He said,
"That the press wouldn’t have better sense than to leak critical information on terrorists so that they know what we’re doing – that scares the devil out of me. In my opinion, that is giving aid and comfort to the enemy, therefore it is an act of treason. What you write in a war and what is legal to do for the federal government, or state government, whoever it is, is very important in winning the war on terror."
He is calling for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to empanel a grand jury to decide if the Times’ publisher, editors and writers who were involved in the story should be indicted for treason. This according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.
Homeland Security Chairman, Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., is urging the Bush administration to seek criminal charges against the NYT for its reporting on the secret financial-monitoring program. After all, it was the NYT who demanded this type of program back in 2001. Now it destroys it?
On May 17th , 2006 I posted a whole article on the NYT. I pointed out how they are violating their own ethics polices. I even told you where to find them. NYTethics I posed the question, "Why does anyone read this paper anymore?"

And second, no one may do anything that damages our news staffs' reputation for strict neutrality in reporting on politics and government; in particular, no one may wear campaign buttons or display any other form of political partisanship while on the job.
No, but destroy the security of millions of Americans must be OK. Right?
This is just another example of how they continue to be a vehicle of the LWL. It is clear that their agenda is to attack Bush, further the LWL agenda, and for us to FAIL in the war. This, they think anyway, would guarantee the Left taking over.
Are they guilty of treason? I believe that if you truly analyze this situation out, you will see that this is more than just making stuff up, which they have been known to do, or printing inaccurate stories. This is purposely risking the security of this country, just to attack the Bush Administration. They were either purposely doing so, or too ignorant to help themselvves.
Either way, it could very well be seen as treason.

There has been a big move as of late by the GOP to amend the Constitution for various reasons. Why is this? Just this month alone the Right Wing Radicals have tried to amend the Constitution to prohibit Gay marriage, and now, to outlaw flag burning. Both failed in the Senate.
The 66-34 tally on the flag amendment yesterday was one vote less than the two-thirds, or 67 votes, required to send it to the states for ratification. The House cleared the two-thirds threshold last year, 286-130.
Sponsored by Sen. Orrin Hatch R-Utah, the amendment read,
"The Congress shall have power to prohibit the physical desecration of the flag of the United States."
There was more in this than just flag burning. An alternative put forward by assistant Democratic leader Dick Durbin of Illinois, would have made it against the law to damage the flag on federal land or with the intent of breaching the peace or intimidation. It also would have prohibited unapproved demonstrations at military funerals. The Senate also rejected this also.
It was interesting to see some of those that voted for it. Like Democrat Evan Bayh of Indiana and Republicans George Allen of Virginia, Sam Brownback of Kansas, Frist, Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, and John McCain of Arizona. Some who voted no were Joseph Biden of Delaware, Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, Christopher Dodd of Connecticut, Russell Feingold of Wisconsin, John Kerry of Massachusetts.
Well it is an election year. Can you see this being a head to head John McCain face to face with Hillary, "I voted vote it, you voted against it." Then you have John Kerry? How did you vote? "I don’t know." Depending on the latest polling data.
Now I understand the "American Values Agenda". I can even say I agree with a lot of it. House Republicans intend to hold several votes this summer and fall, to try to stem the tide of the moral decline in this country They will be touching on abortion, guns, religion and other priority issues for social conservatives. This of course is also, in part, an attempt to improve the party's prospects in the midterm elections. But messing with the Constitution is dangerous, and not the way to do it. You cannot force "values" on people. You cannot legislate morality.

Here’s Something For the Left,
Hey folks,
Here’s something for the left to rally behind today. A Bush administration official is expected to make an appearance today before the Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Arlen Specter, R-Pa., to argue that a law is not binding when a president issues a separate statement saying he reserves the right to revise, interpret or disregard it on national security and constitutional grounds.
Bush has been doing this a lot lately. I do not like this at all. I feel that it could indeed lead to an abuse of power. HOWEVER,, it is a fact as White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said yesterday,
"Signing statements have long been issued by presidents, dating back to Andrew Jackson all the way through President Clinton,"

A Bush administration official is expected to make an appearance today before the Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Arlen Specter, R-Pa., to argue that a law is not binding when a president issues a separate statement saying he reserves the right to revise, interpret or disregard it on national security and constitutional grounds.
Bush has been doing this a lot lately. I do not like this at all. I feel that it could indeed lead to an abuse of power. HOWEVER,, it is a fact as White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said yesterday,
"Signing statements have long been issued by presidents, dating back to Andrew Jackson all the way through President Clinton,"

Good Old Saddam,
Hey folks,
"These puppets in the Iraqi government that the Americans brought to power are helpless. They can't protect themselves or the Iraqi people. The Americans will certainly come to me, to Saddam Hussein's legitimate leadership and to the Iraqi Baath Party, to rescue them from their huge quandary." So sayth Saddam.
Did we really need any more proof that this guy is nuts?
Good Monday morning to you. This is going to be the big news of the day. It’ll be interesting to see how it will play out in the Mass Media. Saddam Hussein ACTUALLY believes the United States will have to seek his help to stop the insurgency and violence in Iraq and open the way for U.S. forces to withdraw, his chief lawyer said Sunday.
According to Khalil al-Dulaimi who told the AP that,
"He's their last resort. They're going to knock at his door eventually." He said that Saddam is "the only person who can stop the resistance against the U.S. troops."
According to the AP, "There is no indication U.S. officials have considered seeking his help."
Are you kidding? Of course not. But this is one of the points I’m waiting to see if the MMD pick up and run with today. Don’t laugh, it is EXTREMELY possible that they will. You may even get some of the LWL crowd in there as well. According to al-Dulaimi ,
"The ongoing trial and verdict, which are already decided by Washington, are expected to result in the death penalty. The death penalty is political blackmail to pressure President Saddam to help the American forces out of their predicament in Iraq and to rescue it from the mess it created there."
The big bad Bush Administration is at it again. Taking the rights of Saddam, who is "innocent until proven guilty" away. They just want him dead. Bush wants him dead because of what his Father Bush Sr and Saddam went through. Etc. Can’t you just hear it?
I really do not think that there is any that are nuts ENOUGH to believe that seeking Saddams help is a pliable option, but you never know. I mean, if you try to rationalize it out, what’s the harm? Grant him a stay from the death penalty. He’ll be in jail for the rest of his life and unable to hurt anyone. Have him help speed up the process of cut and run,,,, I mean bringing our troops home. Why not ask for his help?
But you know folks, there are still those folks out there that truly believe that we should have never gone there to begin with. So if we should have never been there, then Saddam would STILL be in power. So if we are going to make it right, we should restore him.

IWA for Sunday June 25th 2006,
Hey folks,
Well I didn’t have to look far to find the IWA this week. I’ve had it since Tuesday. This perhaps may be the most controversial IWA I have ever given out. But there is no other contender this week. I know that some of you may take offense to this, but it is just clear that this winner DESERVES it.
The IWA goes to,,,,, Ken MacKenzie, the Uncle of Army Pfc. Kristian Menchaca 23, of Houston, one of the two soldiers who disappeared after a firefight in Iraq, found dead with possible signs of torture, not far from where he and the other soldier, Thomas Lowell Tucker, 25, of Madras, Ore, were last seen.
I understand losing a loved one. I understand when you lose someone you love, you may not be thinking straight, and end up saying stupid things. But I have some questions about Mr. MacKenzie.
First realize this. This is not Kristian Menchaca’s Mother, nor Father. This is an Uncle that we do not know the relationship. We do not know if they were close. Or if, which appears more likely, this is someone seeking a spotlight, and possibly a lawsuit from the Government. He sounds an awful lot like a card carrying Bushwhacker, but I do not know this for fact. Nor do I know the role he played in Menchaca's life while Menchaca was alive. But I do know this, this is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.
In an interview with Matt Lauer on the "Today Show", when asked,
"A group linked to al-Qaeda on its website has claimed that they actually took Kristian and another soldier. What's your reaction to that?"
MacKenzie said,
"My reaction is the United States government should have immediately notified these Shura Council mujahadeen that the United States government was offering a $100-million reward and offering to exchange the 2,500 mujahadeen detainees that Prime Minister al-Maliki of Iraq plans to release several weeks from now. I think the U.S. government was too slow to react to this, they should have had a plan in place. Because the U.S. government did not have a plan in place, my nephew has paid for it with his life."
Now this statement is so bizarre, that even MMD paid employee Matt Lauer had to interrupt, He said,
"Let me just interrupt for a second. Obviously the U.S. has a policy of not negotiating with terrorists. We do have reports that up to 8,000 troops, U.S. and Iraqis, are out searching for your nephew and also reward money is being offered in Baghdad or in the area for any information leading to the finding of your nephew. Are you suggesting that you think the U.S. government should pay a ransom?"
The response of MacKenzie? He said,
"Yes. The ransom is available from Saddam Hussein's Ba'ath party funds seized by the U.S. government. More than $100 billion in cash and gold, that the U.S. government apparently had plans to return to the government of Iraq. I would think that that money, part of it, could be used to pay ransom. That would not be coming out of U.S. taxpayer pockets, by the way. It could be paid out of the bank account where it now reposes. I think that that money should have been earmarked for this type of a hostage situation."
Lauer continued to clearify, {I truly think that Matt could not believe what he was hearing} he asked,
"Mr. MacKenzie, obviously you are dealing with this as a personal and a family tragedy. I can certainly understand that, but wouldn't that then make it very profitable for terrorists in Iraq and other parts of the world to kidnap westerners because they could reap huge amounts of money from it?"
MacKenzie said,
"Yes, but they are doing that anyway. I don't know if that would escalate or encourage them to kidnap more westerners and more U.S. soldiers. But I rather doubt it. My concern is the humanitarian concern."
Ok, again, I understand the possibly that this is a grieving family member. But these are outrageous statements to make. Even if my Son Joshua was killed in combat, as much as this would kill me inside, I know for a fact that I would NEVER suggest that paying a stupid amount of money for ANY hostage civilian, or military personal, will, A- get them back alive, B- prevent any other abductions, or C- do anything else but ENCOURAGE more.
Although I can appreciate your loss, and wish you peace in your time of need, I have to say that you Mr. MacKenzie, making these statements, ARE idiotic. Therefore Sir, you ARE the Idiot of the week.

AL Gore Repeats, I’m Not Running.
Hey folks,
Happy Saturday to you. Do you remember all the way back on June 5th, I posted "Good for Hillary, Bad for the Left." I, your voice of simplicity in this complicated world, your voice of logic and intelligence in the insanity that surrounds us, your gateway to the truth, reported to you that Al Gore said,
"I have no plans to be a candidate for president again. I don't expect to ever be a candidate for president again, I can't imagine any circumstances in which I would become a candidate again. I've found other ways to serve. I'm enjoying them," Al Gore told "This Week"and ABC program,,,, He added,,
"I honestly believe that the highest and best use of my skills and experience is to try to change the minds of people in the US and elsewhere in the world about this planetary emergency that we simply have to confront,"
On June 15th, I told told you, "They want and are betting on Al Gore, even though he said no. Let’s face it, he is making more money now then ever, and more money then he ever would as President. He has a sweet deal. He doesn’t want the ride to end. {And he knows he will not win}"
Now people were saying that I was way off base. They were saying, make that still are saying, "Of course he is running." and "This is what the book deals, and movie deal is all about, to raise money to run." Even all the big TV spots, all the morning shows, news outlets, all the mass media drones, everyone as of late are still holding out hope that he is running. They continue to state this as fact.
Well my friends, he will have a REALLY hard time now. Because if he runs NOW, he will be proven a liar just by running. I know, I know, the mass media drones, and the LWL, will excuse it, saying, "Everyone has a right to change their mind." "He just wasn’t sure when he made that statement."
So I guess he is still not sure. During his hometown book signing Friday, When asked about 08, Al Gore said,
"I'm not planning on it, but thanks for encouraging me,"
Now you know that the Left is going nuts folks. The mass media drones are continuing to say he is running. Even Rush and Sean are indicating that they feel he is. The simple fact is, some on the Left, and the MMD do not want Hillary. I cannot imagine the pressure that poor Mr. Gore is feeling from those "on his side".
As a side note by the way, remember what the Left and the MMD do NOT want you to remember? Do you remember that the "new" Al Gore, the environmental crusader, grew up in the lap of luxury on money from Big Oil, and tobacco? Just a humorous thought to me.

The great and creative mind that brought us entertainment like "Charlie's Angels" {One of my Favorite shows of all time}, "Love Boat," "Fantasy Island," {Another favorite} "Burke's Law," "The Mod Squad," "Starsky and Hutch,"{Yup, Loved that one too} "T.J. Hooker," "Matt Houston," "Hart to Hart" and "Hotel", "Melrose Place", "Dynasty", "7th Heaven" and "Summerland", has been silenced, but never forgotten.
Aaron Spelling died Friday, June 23rd, at his Los Angeles mansion after suffering a stroke on June 18, according to publicist Kevin Sasaki. He was 83.
To say theat he "left an indelible stamp on American pop culture" is an understatement. He was a man that truly understood the need of entertainment. Even if the critics didn’t agree. I find it amazing that he never won the critical acclaim he sought. Is there anyone else that could boast his success?
I love the fact that he was more concerned about the fans than he was the critics. He once said,
"The knocks by the critics bother you. But you have a choice of proving yourself to 300 critics or 30 million fans. I think you're also categorized by the critics. If you do something good they almost don't want to like it."
Yes Mr Spelling, even if your critics will not, be assured that you fans will miss you greatly. God speed Mr. Spelling. May his family have peace.

To Start The Day With A Laugh
Hey folks,
I though this was pretty funny. Seems I’m not the one giving out special awards. It is funny to me, and possibly you too , to hear that a movie that noone is watching is winning an award. That’s right, since it’s release, Al Gore’s documentary "An Inconvenient Truth", has grossed a mere $6,567,780, according toMovieweb.com. This is nothing in "Movieland".
This means that nobody is going to see it. Nobody is going to buy the book, which he is releasing also. Nobody cares about this movie. I usually check out those radicle releases from these people, and even I do not want to se it. But I probably will rent it when it comes to video and DVD, if for no other reason than a laugh.
But even though nobody cares about this movie, it is winning an award. Got to love the tight nit Liberal Looneys. "Hey since noone wants to see this, we will make Al feel better, we will help him out. We will give this movie an award, then watch the sales take off." {Sigh}
The rare recognition from the Humanitas Prize, which honors screen writers that helps "liberate, enrich and unify society", um ok, will give Al and his failed attempt to draw attention to global warming, the organization's first Special Award in over 10 years, president Frank Desiderio announced yesterday. The last one went to Bill Moyers and Judith Davidson Moyers in 1995 for their documentary "What Can We Do About Violence."
Frank Desiderio said in a statement, "It's a very important film. We want to shine a light on it."
Translation, he is one of us. He is failing. We need to help him, help movie sales, and help him to feel better about the fact this movie is failing. We cannot have one of our own’s feelings hurt. This will help him.
Of course Al Gore and the documentary's director, Davis Guggenheim, are "thrilled" with the recognition, Davis Guggenheim said that Humanitas "supports the achievements and sacrifices of filmmakers trying to change the world."
"Change the world" Mr. Guggenheim? For this to happen, someone would need to believe in the vision of the writer. Be willing to follow what the writer says. Oh yeah, they would need to SEE the movie.

"Change the world" Mr. Guggenheim? For this to happen, someone would need to believe in the vision of the writer. Be willing to follow what the writer says. Oh yeah, they would need to SEE the movie.
