Bushwhacker’s Free Pass.

Hey folks,

Well, not too much time today. Sorry. First, Ernesto turned in to being nothing really more that a breezy and wet day. Thank God for that. People here in south Florida are extremely thankful for that. {Regardless of what Max Mayfield, director of the National Hurricane Center says.}

The "Big News" today is Iran being defiant, and the Hitler wannabe President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's assertions that they will not stop their Nuclear program no matter what,

"The Iranian nation will not accept for one moment any bullying, invasion and violation of its rights," Ahmadinejad told a crowd of thousands in the northwestern city of Orumiyeh.

He also said enemies of the country were trying to stir up differences among the Iranian people, but "I tell them: you are wrong. The Iranian nation is united."

"They claim to be supporting freedom but they support the most tyrannical governments in the world to pursue their own interests," he said, referring to the United States. "They talk about human rights while maintaining the most notorious prisons. Those powers that do not abide by God and follow evil are the main source of all the current problems of mankind."
Quotes from here

AP, Reuters, CNN, and many others, pick one and go there. They are all saying the same thing. The UN sanctions will not work. Iran don’t care, and Russia and China will not allow them to take place anyway. Same thing I’ve been telling you all along.

But this Anti Bush Shirt article got my attention. Not so much that it shows how looney some have become in their absolute hatred for President Bush, but the clear double standard. This is why dress codes in schools are good.

According to the article,

"The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favour of Zachery Guiles, who through his parents claimed his free speech rights had been violated when school officials made him put duct tape over parts of his T-shirt that showed a Bush image surrounded by cocaine, a razor blade, a straw and a martini.

Guiles, who as a seventh grader in 2004 wore the T-shirt to Williamstown Middle High School in Vermont once a week for two months after purchasing it at an anti-war rally, appealed the case after a lower court ruled in favour of the school.

The school argued the images were offensive because they undermined the school's anti-drug message."

The school has every right to tell a student what to wear. They have every right to tell a student to change their shirt for whatever reason. They do it all the time. Do you think that the court would rule in favor of a "Jesus loves you shirt"? Or a "Abortion is murder" {Also a political statement} shirt? Or better yet, what about a T-shirt depicting Illegal Aliens sneaking across the boarder, saying "Secure our Boarders."? These are all "Free Speech".

No folks, my above examples falls under the "Not PC" category. They would be deemed "offensive, distracting, whatever" and be banned. But someone who, is not old enough to do much more than what they are told to do, wears a shirt depicting the President as a druggie, alcoholic, crook and liar, and they are given a free pass. Yes, you hate, or mommy or daddy told you too, Bush, you need to be given a free pass. Hate away little Bushwhacker, hate away..

American Poverty, According to The U.S. Census Bureau

Hey folks,

A new report out from The U.S. Census Bureau yesterday says that one person in every eight lived in poverty last year. So I guess if you know eight people, you should be helping one that is destitute. According to
this article

"In the world's biggest economy, one in eight Americans and almost one in four blacks lived in poverty last year, the U.S. Census Bureau said on Tuesday, both ratios virtually unchanged from 2004.

The survey also showed 15.9 percent of the population, or 46.6 million, had no health insurance, up from 15.6 percent in 2004 and an increase for a fifth consecutive year, even as the economy grew at a 3.2 percent clip."

As you read this article, I want you to see that this is nothing more than a political move in an election time. It is not even close to the truth. Please allow me to point out some things.

"It was the first year since President George W. Bush took office in 2001 that the poverty rate did not increase. As in past years, the figures showed poverty especially concentrated among blacks and Hispanics."

OK, first, as with all things, the poverty rate must be Bush’s fault. Or so they want you to believe this. Although they admit, that the economy GREW. Then notice how it "points out" that Whites are better off than Blacks, so if the poverty rate is Bush’s fault, than he is favoring Whites. Translation. "Bush doesn’t care about blacks"

I love this,

"In all, some 37 million Americans, or 12.6 percent, lived below the poverty line, defined as having an annual income around $10,000 for an individual or $20,000 for a family of four."

Let’s leave out the logical question. "Who are the people?" Are they the "Norm" or are they kids work part time? Maybe waitresses making under mininum wage for tips sake? Is the Hispanic population including or excluding illegals? Exactly who is including in the "study" and how is it calculated? But here is the funny part,

" The total showed a decrease of 90,000 from the 2004 figure, which Census Bureau officials said was "statistically insignificant.""

Yes folks, 90,000 people no longer living in "poverty" is insignificant. Oh wait, here you go,

"The last time poverty declined was in 2000, the final year of Bill Clinton's presidency, when it fell to 11.3 percent."

Clinton {Left} good, care about blacks, good for the economy. Bush {Right}bad, don’t care about blacks, bad for the economy. Sorry folks, this report is complete BS. If you have any doubt, listen to what Rep. George Miller of California, the top Democrat on the House Education and Workforce Committee said.

"Far too many American families who work hard and play by the rules still wind up living in poverty,"

and,

"Among African Americans the problem correlates primarily to the inner-city and single mothers," said Michael Tanner of CATO Institute, a free-market think tank in Washington. He noted that blacks also suffer disproportionately from poor education and lower quality jobs."

How many people do you know that only make ten thousand a year? You make more than that making minimum wage. You know, if you make less than minimum wage, your employer is violated federal law.

So where did they get these numbers? Who was in the "study"? Why is a decrease "unchanged"? The numbers do not lie. We are in the best economy we have been in years. The numbers used here are clearly questionable. Numbers do not lie, unfortunately, sometimes those putting the numbers together, do.

As I Said, "Doom and Gloom"

Hey folks,

As I said back on August 18th in the daily article titled "Gloom and Doom"

"We made it for another week. But how long will we have left? The world could end any day now. You better run and hide under a table somewhere. We are all going to die.

At least we are if you listen to the news. If what we eat does not get us, you have flooding rains, mud slides, wild fires. The hurricanes here in Florida are more intense than any other time in history. Of course, all this is caused by "Global Warming"."

Here you go folks, Ernesto is a clear example of this. Actually, Max Mayfield, director of the National Hurricane Center, is a perfect example. He said,

"Frankly, I am surprised it has not strengthened. But for all those thousands and thousands of people with blue-tarped roofs, that's good news."

Here is what I mean. He continued and said,

"As a homeowner, I'm very happy. As a forecaster, I'm not very happy."

NOT VERY HAPPY??? So Max Mayfield is not happy that Ernesto didn’t turn into a cat. whatever storm and cause mass damage????? Not very happy that no one died?? Are you kidding me? He is not happy that there will be no doom and gloom.

Actually the whole AP article sounds as if they are actually depressed that Ernesto didn't form into some sort of dreaded death machine. It says,

"Tropical Storm Ernesto sloshed rather than slammed ashore — surprising forecasters by failing to strengthen Tuesday as it approached Florida and providing relief to hurricane-weary residents.

Briefly a hurricane Sunday, Ernesto lost much of its punch crossing mountainous eastern Cuba. The storm crossed the Florida Straits with top sustained winds of 45 mph and was expected to move through Florida overnight as a weak tropical storm."

Then it tells you, it never really was as big a problem as they lead you to believe. They say,

"There were no reports of damage or deaths in Cuba. In an unusual public acknowledgment of the cooperation that has long existed between U.S. and Cuban weather services, the hurricane center thanked Cuba's government for permitting reconnaissance aircraft "to fly right up to their coastline to gather this critical weather data.""

OK, do not get me wrong here. I understand hurricanes can be unpredictable. I understand that you should always be prepared for anything. But all this "Doom and Gloom" reporting did was cause panic. Long gas lines, fights, people fleeing to shelters. Governments shutting down. It was and is, in some areas still, crazy.

Now I understand that it is important to report and forewarn the public about pending hurricanes and natural disasters. But how about the facts. How about NOT being disappointed that it goes away? How about a little less, "doom and gloom’.

Forget Katrina, We Have Ernesto

Hey folks,

The big news today is the sicko Karr not being charged in the JonBenet murder, {So maybe all those apologies to the Father were a little premature?} and of course Katrina "A Year Later" or whatever the headline is..

That is for everyone else. Here in south Florida, the big news is Ernesto. At 5 a.m. ET, Ernesto was about 230 miles southeast of Key West and about 235 miles south-southeast of Miami, just north of central Cuba in the Florida Straits.

Right now it has 45 mph winds gaining 5 mph overnight and is expected to be near the Florida coastline late in the day as it tracked to the northwest at 14 mph. Rainfall amounts of up to 10 inches were predicted for southern and eastern Florida by tomorrow.

I know all this "Doom and Gloom" reporting has taken it’s toll on some. I know that the proliferation of stories about Katrina, how "the government failed to respond" and of course weather people building Ernesto up, people are going to get nervous. Their philosophy is "hope for the best, prepare for the worst". Not bad advice.

People got the message loud and clear. I was out yesterday in Port St. Lucie Florida and attempting to just pull into a gas mini-mart thing to get something to drink, people were nuts. Truly. I saw one person stocking up on "Twinkies."{I would rather have some Peanut butter, jelly and bread} I saw people arguing at the pumps. I got four dirty looks when I pulled up to go in for a coffee. I can imagine that they were thinking something to the effect of "I’ve waiting in line for a half hour to get gas and now I’m here at the pump unable to go in until I’m done, and you are going in before me. You may take the last of what I want. How dare you."

Look people. It really is simple. There is a storm coming. Get ready. Three day supplies of FOOD {I do not think Twinkies count} water, a battery operated radio, gas {If you can get some}, and the other extra stuff. Go home, get ready there, be with you family, and RELAX.

So let’s say this storm DOES strengthen to a cat. 3. I do not believe it is. Is your panicking going to stay it off? Are you capable of changing it’s course? It’s coming. It’s natural, get ready, and relax.

I will be here for as long as I can. However I do want to warn you folks, the OPN runs on electricity. No electric, no new stuff being posted. If FPL is able to keep it on or repair it fast, I will be here as norm with your infotainment. If I am not on for a day or so, and I have not let you know that I will not be, then assume simply it’s the fact that there is no power, and as soon as the power is restored, I’ll be back.

Proof "Talks" Will Not Work

Hey folks,

The UN is still talking talks. The anti-war crowd if still talking talks. The far Left extremist fring is still talking talks. Talks can never work. I and many others have been telling you this for a while. Talks do not work when you have someone that just simply wants you dead.

After being praise and humanized by some predominate mainstream media types, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, AKA {The REAL new Hitler} said if he ever became the supreme decision maker in his country, would "sacrifice half of Iran for the sake of eliminating Israel," Giora Eiland, Israel's former national security adviser, told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday.

He is willing to sacrifice half his country to destroy Israel. You think "Talks" is going to work with someone like this? Then you have a clear illustration that force WILL work. According to this AP article yesterday,

"Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah said in a TV interview aired Sunday that he would not have ordered the capture of two Israeli soldiers if he had known it would lead to such a war."

He said,

"We did not think, even 1 percent, that the capture would lead to a war at this time and of this magnitude. You ask me, if I had known on July 11 ... that the operation would lead to such a war, would I do it? I say no, absolutely not," he said in an interview with Lebanon's New TV station."

Now wait a second, if Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah admits that if he knew that there would be more than "Talks", that there would be actual military action, he would not have "ordered the capture." Translation folks, if he knew that his terrorist activity would lead to a force response, he would not have engaged in the terrorist activity.

This is really simple to understand. "Talks" do nothing when you are dealing with these people. "Talks," to them, is a sign of weakness. Threat of and the knowledge that the threat can and will be carried out, a force response, works.

We can give them flowers, "Food for oil", Israel can give them "Land for Peace", we can lay down our arms and "talk" to them, and the fact remains, they want Israel "wiped off the map" and they want us dead. We can continue to attack the President, and print funny cartoons depicting HIM as Hitler, while the real Hitler rises in power. We can continue to live in dreamland where the world will love us and peace will reign, while others prepare to kill us.

This is simply put, further proof that "Talks" do not work.

IWA for August 27, 2006

Hey folks,

I absolutely hate this type of thing. I was a volunteer firefighter for Salisbury Mills Fire Company back in NY. I was part of the search and rescue team. I really enjoyed that for the time I participated.

My Father was a firefighter his whole life. Also totally volunteer. I have relatives and friends in Fire Companies all up and down the east coast. I believe these are some of the bravest people that even exist. I consider the volunteers are even braver. Not to take anything away from those that do this for a living, but these volunteer firefighters do this because they WANT to, not to get paid. But either way, those that chose to do this, to run into places most are running out of, should be praised and honored to the highest degree.

This is why when this type of thing, which does happen more often than you think, comes about, I get so angry about it. It seems that Levy Miller, 21, is in the Lemhi County Jail charged with starting an August 13 blaze on the outskirts of Salmon, an area of thick forests and natural beauty. Officials said that the half acre blaze was put out quickly by fire crews.

But here is the problem. Levy Miller is a federal firefighter in Idaho. According to Reuters

"Lemhi County Sheriff Sam Slavin said Miller, who has worked as a firefighter with the federal Bureau of Land Management for two years, persuaded a Salmon teen to start the August 13 fire "to drum up business."

Miller is also a suspect in a series of 2003 fires that broke out in the Salmon-Challis National Forest near the Idaho-Montana border. "We're looking potentially at a lot of dollars in damages," Slavin said."

Also according to the article, one of the reasons this type of thing happens is, "an excuse to get a paycheck", so says Terry Edwards, Deputy State Fire Marshal in Idaho. His reasoning is that fires can bring in money from the state and federal governments.

But I truly believe that the overriding factor to this type of behavior is simply the "Hero factor." You see Firefighters praised in the news, TV, movies, and people talk all the time about how they are Heros. How they are brave. They even, rightly so, get medals and awards. Almost every little boy, and sometimes girl, wants to be either an Astronaut, Police Officer, or Firefighter.

I truly hope that Mr. Miller gets jail time for this. To put people and wildlife in harms way, just to either get a paycheck or be a Hero, is both criminal and stupid. Congratulations Mr. Miller. You ARE the Idiot of the Week.

Just My Thoughts{2}

Hey folks,

I was asked a heartfelt and honest question back in February. The following was my answer to that question.

It is February, the time, we as a country, have chosen to celebrate black history. Now if you agree with that practice or not, one thing does stand out and will remain in the fore front of most’s minds. Martin Luther King’s speech when he said, to judge a person by the content of their character. A nice thought to some. A way of life to others. Easy to say, hard to explain. But it is one hundred percent true.

I’m sharing this here because of a recent conversation I had with someone who, in essence, asked me how I could accept a friend’s of mine lifestyle. It went something like this,

"I know you. You go to church. You believe in God. Although you do not shove it down peoples throats, you believe in Jesus, and the Bible being the "Word Of God.". Then how can you have such a good friend who is a lesbian?"

My response was a little less articulate than this, but here is the reason. First, I have friends that are Jewish, Atheists, Christian, Black, Oriental, Indian, etc. Yes, my friend, BEST friend, one I would consider a family member, IS a lesbian. How is this not a contradiction? I KNOW her character. It really is just this simple. If I like you, I like you. If I do not like you, then I do not like you. Period. I know many "Christians" that I cannot stand to be around. I know many people in many walks of life that I cannot stand, nor do I spend much time around. What each one of us do in our lives is our CHOICE. Our lives are our own.

What I believe is what I believe. It cannot nor will it be changed because someone else believes differently. If someone tells me something and I choose to believe it, then it becomes my belief as well. Not their opinion, but our shared belief, because I CHOSE it. I DO believe in the Word of God. I do believe in Jesus. Does that mean you have to? No. Neither do I have to believe what you do. Would I like more people to hear and accept the truth? Yes. But do what they will, I have no control, nor would I what to, over what they choose. If God Himself gave all mankind free will, then who am I to say you have to do this, believe this, or live this way. Would, correct that, DID Jesus condemn the woman caught in adultery? No. Did Jesus EVER say he came for those who are "holy"? No. He said the opposite. Why should I judge anyone? One can judge one’s actions, but NO ONE has the right to judge one’s person.

As I have written here and elsewhere MANY times, religion is NOT salvation. Religion teaches, in some cases, that you should abstain from those that are not worthy. It teaches that God will condemn those that do not do what he says. Now I know that maybe me and Dr. Mike disagree here, but God condemns no one. I DO believe in absolutes. Cause and effect. There are spiritual laws as well as physical. Do A, receive B. Do Y receive Z etc. Jesus pointed the way. Told the truth. Some accept, some do not. Whatever you receive, you CHOSE to receive. Who am I that I have the power to condemn.

Too many times what we have is children born into a family, taught by their parents directly or in-directly, what their parents taught them before. To fear those that are different. To "stick" with their own. To hate. The cycle continues. Instead, if you watch children playing on the play ground, you see all kinds of kids playing together. If their parents were to stay out of it, all would be fine. But then, with the "teachings" of the parents, or "religion", they grow to forget. They grow to follow in the parents footsteps. They grow to hate. They grow to leave those out, or behind, just because they are different from them. This is NOT the best way to live. This is no the way to show love. If you hate one person, then you hate ALL. What is it in your life that you have done, or do, that you are forgiven for? What sin (Yes I used the S word) do you battle with. Are you perfect? I can not speak for you, but I know for a FACT, I am FAR from perfect.

I also see it this way, just because "religion" says something, or society itself says something, does not mean that it’s right, or even has ANYTHING to do with God. My belief is simple, take MLK’s words to heart, judge people on the basis of there CHARACTER. Forget all the hoopla of what this one or that one says. If you do not like MY friends, then as far as I’m concerned, that really is YOUR problem. Look in the mirror, you may not like what you see looking back.

Be it February, August, March, July, or December, we should respect all, all the time. Love those you love. Have nothing to do with those you do not like. But hate NO-ONE. Just my thoughts.

Talk About An Idiot, Bomb on Plane

Hey folks,

A little bit later I will be posting the second addition of "Just My Thoughts". I was asked an honest and heart felt question back in February. I attempted to give a heart felt and honest answer. It’s a question that I have been asked before and I’m sure I will be again, the more people get to know me personally. Be it February, August, or any other time. It still applies. But that’s a little later.

As I scan the usual suspects {News Outlets}, and the not so usual ones, looking for what was, is, or will be the big news of the day, I came across this CNN article FBI: Dynamite found in luggage. It says,

"CNN) -- A college student was detained Friday after customs agents found what they suspected was dynamite in his checked luggage, but authorities said he was not involved in terrorism.

Authorities identified the man as Howard McFarland Fish, 21, a U.S. citizen from Connecticut. He was flying on Continental Airlines Flight 52 from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Houston, Texas, which landed at 6 a.m. Friday, FBI spokeswoman Shauna Dunlap said.

"It has not been tested, but it's believed to be a half-stick of dynamite," Dunlap said of the item in Fish's luggage."

Now as this article points out,

"•An American Airlines flight from England to Chicago, Illinois, was forced to land in Bangor, Maine, in response to an unspecified threat, authorities said. Passengers deplaned and were led to a holding area, said airport manager Rebecca Hupp. The jetliner was on the tarmac with its engines shut down.

"The [Transportation Security Administration] learned of a reported threat to the aircraft while it was en route," TSA spokeswoman Andrea McCauley said, declining to give further details.

•A U.S. Airways jet was diverted to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, after a federal air marshal subdued a disruptive passenger who had pushed a flight attendant, the FBI said.

The passenger was taken into custody at Will Rogers World Airport, FBI spokesman Gary Johnson said. The passenger was undergoing a mental evaluation, and authorities had yet to determine what criminal charges he might face. The twin-engine jet returned to the air three hours later on its flight from Phoenix, Arizona, to Charlotte, North Carolina.

•A Continental Airlines flight from Corpus Christi, Texas, to Bakersfield, California, was held in El Paso, Texas, one of its scheduled stops, after the crew discovered that a panel was missing in a lavatory, authorities said.

•A utility knife was found on a vacant passenger seat of a U.S. Airways flight from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Bradley International Airport in Connecticut, state police said. No arrests were made and there were no threats involved, said Master Sgt. J. Paul Vance, state police spokesman.

•An Aer Lingus flight from New York to Dublin, Ireland, was evacuated Friday morning during a scheduled stopover in western Ireland following a bomb threat that turned out to be unfounded, officials said."The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force responded and determined that it was not an act of terrorism and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents took Fish into custody. ICE is currently consulting with the U.S. attorney in Houston regarding possible criminal charges," ICE said in a statement."

With all this going on, this "student" brings a "souvenir", that happens to be a half stick of Dynamite on the plane. I wonder if his major is "Stupidity".

No Plan, No Policies, Just Katrina

Hey folks,

The two big news stories today are going to be Israel buying two nuclear subs, and the "new" Democratic strategy of using the one year anniversary of Katrina against the President and EVERY Senate race across the country. The reason for "Katrina" is simple. But look at what they are saying,

Howard Dean said,

"The bad thing is that no matter what happens in Iraq, Katrina is done. It happened. You can't undo it. It's a huge scar."

"People lost confidence in the president after Katrina and the president never recovered and regained the trust of the American people. Katrina ended any effective ability by Republicans to appeal to African-Americans,"

Rep. Henry Waxman of California said,

"There is no question that incompetence by the Republican administration and their leaders in Congress, the lack of open government and honest leadership is a campaign issue,"

The President’s response?

"I also want people to remember that a one-year anniversary is just that, because it's going to require a long time to help these people rebuild."

I agree with Ross Baker, a political scientist at Rutgers University, who said,

"The memories that are going to be awakened by the anniversary are not memories that the administration wants to focus on," But he said if Bush doesn’t answer the critics or deal with the issue, "he'd be accused of cowardice."

But here is the truth folks. If you scratch the surface on this or any other strategy that the Looneys use between now and both 06 and 08, you will find? Nothing. Do they tell you what they would have done differently? Do they tell you what they WILL do differently if another "Katrina" happens? Do they tell you the Mayor’s responsibility in the whole mess? Remember the school buses sitting there? Remember he told his people that if another "Katrina" happens they are on their own? What about the fact they had DAYS notice to get out, and many CHOSE to stay?

No my friends, they tell you nada. They do not tell you how they would or will do things differently in Katrina, the war, the domestic policies. They tell you nada, because they have nada. Just attack, attack, attack.

The whole Katrina thing is good rhetoric. The Mass Media will eat it up. The Looney bloggers will have a field day. But what do the Looneys offer as an alternative? What is they plan when they get into office? Ask them. Basically, impeach Bush, then?????

If the American people truly want to vote for change, you need to tell them what you will change. How you will change it. They are not doing this, because they have no clue. Amazing.

Rudy Giuliani Wants Hillary To Run,

Hey folks,

Good Thursday morning. Only one more day to go. 75 days to go to mid term elections. Things starting to form for 08. Presidential hopefuls are often asked "Who would you like to run against?" They usually tow the party line, and are "Politically Correct" in their answers. They say things like, "Well, I would like to run against this one, or that one. It would be good for the country to get to decide between policies and I’m confident, that the American people will do what is right." Blah, blah, blah.

So what about Rudy Giuliani? According to this News Max article he wants Hillary Clinton to run. Why?

"Hillary probably has the distinction of being the best fund-raiser for the Democratic Party – and the best fund-raiser for the Republican Party," the former New York City mayor declared. "It’s true she creates a lot of passion on both sides.

"Democrats seem to support her as their main candidate for president . . . and it seems like Republicans are just waiting for her to be the candidate so they can vote against her."

LOL, he’s 100 percent right. Americans in general cannot seem to get over the whole Clinton era. They still remember Bill and all the idiocies he accomplished in office. They NOW know what happens when you are weak on military and national security. Then you have Hillary herself.

" I’m against Ethanol. I for Ethanol. I’m for abortion in any form. I’m against abortion. I am for and voted for the War. I’m against the war. Bush should be impeached." Yes she knows where she stands on tough issues. It depends on where she is at the time.

Now back a while, Rudy said he was running. He said there is no doubt about it. But now, at least according to NewsMax.com,

"Giuliani has said he won’t decide whether to run for president until after the 2006 elections. But he has been boosting his own profile within the GOP by stumping for candidates and doling out money to Republican candidates.

As NewsMax reported earlier, Giuliani gave $126,900 to GOP candidates from Florida to Washington last month.

His political action committee, Solutions America, has collected $2 million this year."

I hope the ones that reported him saying he was running "No questions about it" were just incorrect. I hope by him waiting and watching what happens in the mid terms, isn’t a sign that he wavers in tough decisions. But we would really have to get to know him better on a national scale. He was great for NY. He COULD be great for the country.

One thing we do know though, on this issue, he is one hundred percent right.

End of Day Montage.

Hey folks,

Let me start by saying this will most likely NOT be a daily thing. Just something to keep in mind. For those of you who are true OPNers, that come here daily, just letting you know, that you are getting the information that they will be talking about later. The information you get here, is spot on, and the truth. You hear it here first. Well, in most cases anyway {Smile}

Let’s see what the mass media is talking about today. First, I found this interesting. According to the AP article that I just read, enough valid voter signatures have been certified to confirm Lieberman to be on the ballot. According to the article and Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz,

"Lieberman far exceeded the 7,500 signatures necessary to be certified as a third-party candidate.

His name will appear on the general election ballot under his newly created party, Connecticut for Lieberman. By creating the party, Lieberman secured a position higher on the ballot than he would have had as an independent."

So now it really WILL be up to the VOTERS in Connecticut who they want to vote for. Well, as long as the Lamont camp doesn’t have anything to do with it. How about running on policies and principles? Oh yeah, I know, I forgot for a second. They have none.

Then you have this AP article, that is telling you what I told you about just this morning. It says that Iran’s, or Tehran’s, response falls FAR short of the U.N. demands. Let me sum this up for you, {for those who need a little extra help in understanding} they are not going to stop uranium enrichment, translation, they are going to continue to create a nuclear weapon.

According to the article,

"The Bush administration said Wednesday a proposal by Iran for nuclear negotiations falls short of U.N. demands that it cease uranium enrichment, and the U.S. began plotting unspecified "next moves" with other governments.

Those could include U.N. sanctions against Iran unless it reverses course and agrees to a verifiable halt to enrichment activities that can be central to making nuclear weapons."

Yes, those famous U.N. sanctions. How well the worked in Iraq. I do TRULY hope, I know some of you do not believe this, but I do truly hope that this situation can be worked out. However it seems to me, that both sides are just buying time. Without a serious compromise, I fear we will be going again, this time in Iran. I also understand that there is no compromising with these extremists.

Then, to my absolute surprise, stunned even, The New York Times picked up on the "Her Honor the Idiot" story. They said,

"WASHINGTON, Aug. 22 — The federal judge who ruled last week that President Bush’s eavesdropping program was unconstitutional is a trustee and an officer of a group that has given at least $125,000 to the American Civil Liberties Union in Michigan, a watchdog group said Tuesday.

The group
{Which I linked to last night} Judicial Watch, a conservative organization here that found the connection, said the link posed a possible conflict for the judge, Anna Diggs Taylor, and called for further investigation.

"The system relies on judges to exercise good judgment, and we need more information and more explanation about what the court’s involvement was in support of the A.C.L.U.," said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, which gained attention in the 1990’s for ethics accusations against President Bill Clinton."

Also according to the NYT,

"Questions about a possible conflict of interest appear likely to raise new concerns. The Web site for the group that supported the A.C.L.U., the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan in Detroit, lists Judge Taylor as its secretary and a trustee. It indicates that trustees make all financing decisions for the organization, whose assets exceed $350 million and which gives grants for a variety of community projects.

Judge Taylor declined to comment on the matter on Tuesday, and the foundation did not respond to a message for comment on what role if any she had in awarding the civil liberties grants."

Of course there are questions. This is not the first, and only case that she has had an assiduous relationship with the plaintiff. She is CLEARLY mis-using her power. As I asked before, what if she was a Bush appointee? Let’s say she was, and ruled in favor of the administration, well, with just about anything, and it was discovered that she was in the Bush camp, in anyway, what do you think would be in the news? Kerry, Clinton, Kenney, the MMD {Mass Media Drones} would be foaming at the mouth. They would be DEMANDING that she be disbarred or at least that she resigne. You know this to be true.

Just a little montage that I thought you might enjoy.

Iran In PR Mode

Hey folks,

I woke up this morning to see two things that got my attention before my second sip of coffee.

The first thing I noticed is that there is NO mention, not even a hint, of the her Honor the Idiot, being called into question for conflict of interest. Not one mention in the Mass Media Drones that she mis-used her power, and the whole thing was set up prior to get the ruling. No not one. You know as well as I, if this was a Bush appointed judge, there would be open calls from both the MMD and the LWL for her to be disbarred and possibly even charges brought. But because it was an "anti-Bush" ruling, it’s going to be kept as quiet as possible, as long as possible. You got to love it.

Then the next thing that IS big in the news that caught my attention, is according to the AP gas prices are falling thanks to Iran.

"Oil prices dropped slightly Wednesday as traders locked in profits in response to Iran's offer to continue negotiations on its nuclear program."

It goes on to say,

"Traders also awaited the weekly U.S. inventory report, which was expected to show relatively small gasoline stock draws for this time of year, the prime American driving season."

It continues to give you the prices and predictions but then it says,

"The face-off between Iran, OPEC's No. 2 oil producer, and the West has worried traders for months. The U.N. Security Council passed a resolution last month calling for Iran to suspend uranium enrichment — which could be used to create nuclear weapons — by Aug. 31 or face the threat of economic and diplomatic sanctions. That has clouded the outlook for Iran's oil supplies.

In its official response to a package of incentives aimed at persuading Iran to suspend uranium enrichment, Tehran said Tuesday it was ready for "serious negotiations" on its nuclear program."

So what are they trying to tell you? Simple, it is the US’s fault for the high gas prices. Yes blame President Bush. If he would just play nice with Iran, YOU would not have to struggle to pay for your gas. The "good guys", Iran, are trying everything they can to try to satisfy the unreasonable requests from the Bush administration. This is why, in light of their generous offer to continue talks, YOU have to pay less.

I love the wording on this,

"But a semiofficial news agency said the government was unwilling to abandon uranium enrichment — the key U.S. demand — and Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had said Monday that Tehran will pursue nuclear technology."

That means, take the information however you want, it’s only from a "semiofficial news agency" it may not be true. WRONG. It is VERY true. Iran will not stop. They will not abandon uranium enrichment. They are buying time.

It really is this simple folks. They are afraid of the Bush Administration. They KNOW that it is in the realm of possibility that he could strike at them militarily. They are buying time, and attempting to "make nice" hoping that the left take over power in November and in 08. Then they know, they have nothing to worry about.

Judge Anna Diggs Taylor Conflict of Interest?

Hey folks,

I didn’t know that it was possible, but it seems that Judge Anna Diggs Taylor may be even more of an idiot than I thought. Now it seems that she may have crossed a line that has serious consequences for her. Well, she is a LWL member, so accountability? Who knows. But if this is true, there need not even be a trial. The ruling should be null and void.

What am I talking about? It seems that according to new information being released byJudicial Watch

"(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and judicial abuse, announced today that Judge Anna Diggs Taylor, who last week ruled the government’s warrantless wiretapping program unconstitutional, serves as a Secretary and Trustee for a foundation that donated funds to the ACLU of Michigan, a plaintiff in the case (ACLU et. al v. National Security Agency). Judicial Watch discovered the potential conflict of interest after reviewing Judge Diggs Taylor’s financial disclosure statements.

According to her 2003 and 2004 financial disclosure statements, Judge Diggs Taylor served as Secretary and Trustee for the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan (CFSEM). She was reelected to this position in June 2005. The official CFSEM website states that the foundation made a "recent grant" of $45,000 over two years to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Michigan, a plaintiff in the wiretapping case. Judge Diggs Taylor sided with the ACLU of Michigan in her recent decision."

Hello? She heard a case by a plaintiff that she is intimately associated with? Face it folks, this is why the ACLU brought the case to her. She, and they, already knew how she would rule.

"According to the CFSEM website, "The Foundation’s trustees make all funding decisions at meetings held on a quarterly basis."

"This potential conflict of interest merits serious investigation," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "If Judge Diggs Taylor failed to disclose this link to a plaintiff in a case before her court, it would certainly call into question her judgment."

We already knew that she tried to hijack a case in reference to "Affirmative Action" from another judge that she thought was not sympathetic to "the cause". Also this seems to not be the only case that is in question right now. According to the web site,

"(Judge Diggs Taylor is also the presiding judge in another case where she may have a conflict of interest. The Arab Community Center for Social and Economic Services (ACCESS) is a defendant in another case now before Judge Diggs Taylor’s court [Case No. 06-10968 (Mich. E.D.)]. In 2003, the CFSEM donated $180,000 to ACCESS.)"

If all these facts are accurate, not only should she be disbarred, she should be investigated further with ALL of her cases being called into question.

For all those that saw nothing wrong with her "Constitutional responsibility" and the way she handled this and other cases, you may want to re-think that. She is a Looney activistic idiot, that has no credibility, and most likely needs to be removed.

Why The UN is Worthless,

Hey folks,

Hey we go again. The UN is showing itself to being completely anti- semitic, anti-American, and completely worthless. They are an impotent joke. They do not like America, would love to see us fail in the world, would love to help that to happen. They hate Israel, and would love to see them just go away.

The UN worked "hard" on "encouraging" Iran to suspend their Nuclear programs. Offered incentive packages to this war mongering, American and Jew hating state who’s President has said repeatedly he will wipe Israel off the face of the map. Who has outright threaten America. Who is actively engaged in seeking nuclear weapons to do this very thing. You are watching the rise of a new Hitler.

If you REALLY want the truth as far as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, just look him up. The comparisons to him and Hitler are no rhetoric in an attempt to besmirch his name and policies like is done to Bush, but FACTS. Like when he said,

"If European countries claim that they have killed Jews in World War II... why don't they provide the Zionist regime with a piece of Europe," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Iranian television. BBC

"Be sure that not only the Palestinian nation, but all Islamic nations, will not tolerate this occupier-regime (Israel) in the region for a minute," he said. Ynet news

If you really want the truth, this is not new. There is a very STRONG connection between Muslim extremists and Hitler himself. Check it out at Eretz Yisroel

While the world sits back and does nothing. He is rising. He is even apparently being accepted by the UN. OK, he is pursing nuclear weapons, in the open, in front of everyone. He said he will use any means necessary to wipe Israel off the map. The UN offers him an incentive package to stop and play nice. They said they will not stop, before, during and after. Why is this a surprise?

So the negotiations failed. The incentives failed. These people cannot be reasoned with. They have one goal. They are not deterring. What is the UN going to do about it? According to Reuters

"But refusal would not yet trigger immediate action by the U.N. Security Council, which passed a resolution last month giving Iran until August 31 to halt enrichment or risk sanctions.

"We are not treating (Tuesday) as a deadline because it is not the Security Council deadline," one Western diplomat said. "If Iran flatly refuses to suspend enrichment, then there will, fairly soon, be more talks in the Security Council."

"Fairly soon, more talks"
no sanctions {which don’t work anyway} no action at all. Just talks.

Iran blocks inspections, say they will not stop, and continue to head to nuclear power. The impotent UN wants more talks. This truly is unbelievable., and just further proof that the UN is worthless, and should never play a part in American interests. It is, just that simple.

Sen. Joe Lieberman, Calls For Rumsfeld Stepping Down

Hey folks,

Watch it fly today. You cannot imagine how this is going to play in the mass media. On "Face the Nation" Sen. Joe Lieberman said,

"With all respect to Don Rumsfeld, who has done a grueling job for six years, we would benefit from new leadership to work with our military in Iraq,"

He went on to say,

"We had a naive vision that the Iraqis were going to embrace us and then go on and live happily ever after,"

And,

"There is still hope in Iraq and as long as there is we cannot just pick up and walk away and leave them to the sure disaster that would follow and would compromise our security in the war on terrorism,"

Yes my LWL friends the "Bush bedfellow" is calling for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to resign. He is calling for new leadership in Iraq and saying the he feels the Bush administration has a "naive vision" on the whole state of affairs in Iraq.

Now you are going to be told that this is a political move. His calls are going to be dismissed by those far left looneys saying that it is merely an attempt to get more votes. But it really isn’t. If it were merely a political move to garner more of the looney support, he would not be actually calling for MORE troops to be deployed there to "to secure the country," and "put severe pressure on the Iraqis to contain sectarian violence."

Of course the Lamont said that Lieberman will not succeed in convincing Connecticut voters that he is not with the Bush Administration "after so many years of stubbornly rubber-stamping Bush's failed policies."

Actually, I believe Lieberman is LEADING Lamont in ALL the polls. That’s not a small lead either. Who is trying to convince who? It should be interesting to see how this criticism does play out in the polls, but it may put him even FURTHER ahead.

You can see more of Lieberman’s quotes and the LWL responses in this AP article

It amazes me to watch the LWL continue to act as if they were winning. When the FACTS and polls show otherwise.

IWA For Sundy, August 20, 2006

Hey folks,

Was there ANY question in your mind as to who the Idiot of the Week would be this week? Truthfully, you didn’t even need to check in today to know who it is. I checked around, and truth is, I prefer the humorous ones. You know, the stupid things that people do. I have given the award to those who make me laugh, who obviously need help in intelligence, and people that just do oops. Sometime however, you come across some that do things on purpose. Just as this weeks winner,

U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor, The Absolute Definition of Ignorance,

Sorry folks,

But this has to be plain English so everyone can understand. U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor is the epitome of stupidity. She is the complete and absolute definition of ignorance. Not to mention she just put your safety, security, and even your very life itself in grave danger. She has taken it upon herself to become the Commander and Chief and play politics with your very life.

Yes I said it twice. Your very life may very well have been saved from ten planes blowing up, with parts of those planes and the body parts of those on them, raining on YOUR head, by means that this Idiot has just stated she feels "Violates the Constitution".

So who is this Judge? Well, she is the first African American woman appointed to a federal judgeship in Michigan, appointed in 1979, November 15th, sworn in as a federal judge to the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, 1997. She is also a Carter appointee. This makes a lot of sense when you think about his new book, traveling around attacking the President, and trying to tell us how to handle things he COMPLETELY screwed up in office. Now he is blaming US and Israel for the war. Check out SPIEGEL INTERVIEW WITH JIMMY CARTER What is going on here makes a lot of sense when you think about it. When you look at the FACTS in this case.

According to Kansas City Star

"U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor in Detroit is the first judge to rule on the legality of the National Security Agency's program, which the White House says is a key tool for fighting terrorism that has already stopped attacks."

Yes. It just DID. It saved thousands of lives. Another attempt just took place not to long ago. The Ap is reporting just 6 minutes ago AP article But back to this Idiot,

"Plaintiffs have prevailed, and the public interest is clear, in this matter. It is the upholding of our Constitution," Taylor wrote in her 43-page opinion."

Wrong. VERY wrong. As a matter of fact, you couldn’t be more wrong. This did NOT uphold the Constitution, it aided the TERRORISTS. It put those that want to kill us, ahead of US.

You know, I just cannot let this go. U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor is nothing more than a blind sheep for the LWL and the ACLU. She ALWAYS has been. She hasn’t had a free thought in her head since before Carter appointed her. She is nothing more than a politic pawn. Another cog in the "Get Bush"agenda.

I’m begging you. Put on some Jazz, Soft Rock, heavy metal, Blues, whatever you are into, and clear your head from all the lunacies they are trying to shove in there, and get back your intelligence. Then start asking them the tough questions leading up to this election. What plan do they have for our security? What policies do they have to protect this country from those who want to kill us. What is their plan for our country? "Feel safe? Vote for a change." OK what are you going to do? What is the change? They do not tell you this because they can’t.

Yes my friends, clear your minds, look at the timing. The attacks have increased against the President and the Big Bad Bush Administration. A Carter elected pawn with this ruling just 82 days away from the election that this program is illegal, which it's not, just to try to make Bush look bad? Then think about this. The NAACP takes this lawsuit to Detroit, to a Judge they already have in their corner. Her past proves this.

We are not safer in this country because of reduced attempts to kill us, but we are safer because of those attempts being stopped. There is hope though folks. I see Lieberman leads Lamont by 11 percent. I see the LWL threatening Lieberman. They want to take away his senior status is he WINS... You have Lamont, in essences, telling you he will raise taxes. We KNOW this. This is what the LWL do. They all tell you that they will cut and run. Now this ignorant pawn of a Judge just tried to take away a program that has saved lives and prevented further attacks. Thankfully her’s is NOT the final word. The Administration will take this to the highest level. As well they should. The American people are truly seeing what these people are all about.

Yes folks, if you want more taxes, less home ownership, higher unemployment, and to be put in harms way, then vote in the LWL. You don’t "Feel safe?" now. Then just wait til the Looneys run the asylum. If the stakes were not so high, I would say let them win. That would GUARANTEE Republicans are in the White house. But, our cities, our safety, our way of life, our very lives are on the line here. Think about this for a bit. Do you trust them?

Well This Can’t Be Good News,

Hey folks,

To the LWL at least, this most definitely cannot be good news. It doesn’t fit their agenda and guarantee of victory in 80 days. According to the just released Rasmussen Reports

"Forty-one percent (41%) of American adults approve of the way that President Bush is performing his job. Fifty-eight percent (58%) disapprove."

Well that’s up a bit.

"While the President's numbers are steady, confidence in the War on Terror has dipped slightly. A survey completed a couple of days ago found that just 38% believe the U.S. and its allies are winning. That matches the lowest level ever recorded. It's down a point from earlier in the month and down six points from July."

That would be one point. Watch the LWL and those who blindly follow anything they say make a big deal of this one point.

"Rasmussen Reports has just released our first Balance of Power assessment that shows Republicans clinging to majority status. Currently, we estimate 50 Senate seats that are Republican or Republican leaning, 47 states for the Democrats, and 3 Toss-Ups. This assessment will be updated frequently through the season as warranted by new polling data. To see our latest results, check out the Election 2006 summary page."

Hmm, I guess this will not be the win fall that the Left is expecting. At least according to the Rasmussen Reports numbers. They also break down the races

"Senator George Allen's alleged slur of an opposition campaign worker of Indian descent, has provoked furious controversy in Virginia and his lead in the senate race against Democrat James Webb has slipped to five points. Meanwhile, in the Maryland Senate race two Democrats, Ben Cardin and Kweisi Mfume, hold slight leads over Republican Michael Steele. Baltimore mayor Martin O'Malley maintains a seven point lead in the Maryland Governor's race. In the Nebraska Senate race, Incumbent Ben Nelson (D) remains comfortably ahead of Republican Pete Ricketts. Also in Nebraska Republican Dave Heineman is crushing Democrat David Hahn in the race for Governor. In the Michigan Governor's race, incumbent Jennifer Granholm (D) and challenger Rich DeVos (R) are tied once again. Michael Bouchard (R) received a solid bounce from his primary victory and is now within five points of Debbie Stabenow (D) in the Michigan Senate race."

If you were to listen to the MMD {Mass Media Drones, for those who need further help in understanding.} and the LWL {Left Wing Looneys} talk you would have to see them taking over because they speak "for the people". But is not Connecticut a glimpse of what could come? They threw everything they had behind Lamont. The Looneys threw Lieberman out. But now when it really matters, Lieberman leads by 12 points. Interesting.

Just because the Soros, Moores, ETC can rally the extreme Left Looneys or Sheep, doesn’t mean that the majority of Americans will drink the cool aid.

If the Democrats were smart. They would back Lieberman. They would put their millions behind him and encourage him to run in 08. The majority of American do not like Bush. The majority of Americans are not happy with the way Bush does things. But, BIG but, the majority of Americans want to be safe.

Lieberman votes 90% against Bush. He is and has always been a strong and die hard Democrat. At this point, I would vote for him in 08 if he were to run. But he is strong on security, and protecting America. This would guarantee the Democrats victory in 08. But they instead put all their money and effort behind the looneys. This guarantees them failure. I don’t get it.
As long as they cater to the Moores, Soros, and Streisands out there, the American people will continue to see them weak on security. The true Democrats need to take back the party, for any real changed to take place

This shows that it is not as locked up as you might think. But they are running out of time to figure it out. Well, then again, to them the loss will be "Stolen" "You didn’t show up" "Place excuse here" What you will not see is them say, "We were wrong. Now let’s work together." It will NOT be their fault. According to them anyway.
Peter
Just My Toughts{1}

Hey folks,

It’s Saturday and I just wanted to give you something to think about. Blogging and DB {Discussion Boards} are growing in popularity. Some start and leave thinking that it is a waste of time. Others get "hooked" and spend more time then they have. But a lot of the time we forget.

You know it is easy for us to get into a debate, an intellectual duel, an exchange of thoughts, forgetting that there may be more people out there following along than we realize. They do not call it the WWW {World Wide Web, for those who need further help in understanding} for nothing.

I have been doing this for nearly ten years. In that time I can cite several occasions that this is clear. Including this past Monday two weeks ago. More on that in a second.

One time I posted an article about Abercrombie and Fitch, and their use of nude underage looking models to sell cloths to kids. The very next day, on "The Factor" Bill O’Reilly did a whole story on them. We were discussing the Terri Shiavo case and had a doctor join us to talk about the case. I talked about a Church shooting and a detective joined us to discuss it. Just recently I posted an IWA and the recipient came on to tell his side of the story.

It happened again just two weeks ago. On Sunday, Chief Rowley shared,

"Rowley’s Peals or Wisdom"

Micro Management Is Not The Answer

By: George A. Rowley

When you kill the creativity of your employees, the company pays for it in lost profits. Nothing kills the spirit of your employees faster than a supervisor directing every move every day. Everyone needs breathing room. Don't spend the day trying to nail employees goofing off. All of us need a break from time to time.

Micro management is a company running without a plan. No one has any idea of what management wants, so someone must call every move. This is due to managements failure to share vision, which means focus is missing. Many employers often let their egos control their interactions with their employees. Trust your employees to do their jobs. Make employees feel a team spirit. Have meetings once a month and let employees make suggestions. Give your top performers and dedicated employees pay increases without them having to come to you for them.

On Monday, the very next day, NBC’s "Today Show" did a whole story on Micro Management. Hey, maybe Matt Lauer in an OPNer {Smile}

What the point to all this is this? What you are doing and saying on line may be having a very profound effect on someone. Someone you will never know anything about, never meet, and maybe even never realize are out there. Just something to think about.
Peter
Behind The OPN Screen

Hey folks,

Happy Saturday morning to you. I love weekends. Here is technically your second addition of a look behind the scenes, or screen, here at the OPN. Updates, past dates, new things coming, old things going, ETC. I will even share, with your permission, your emails or questions you may have. Just a inside look at things here.

Updates- I have updated the site. You can now track the site and see new articles when they are posted. Then again, you could just come here once a day after say 8am and the "Daily Article" is usually posted by that time.

I have also added the "Yahoo IM" for those who may want to try to catch me on line live. Just check the "Profile" section. Of course you can always email me at the email listed. Do not worry, unless I have your TOTAL permission, what you send me in private, will stay that way. I may comment generically if it is really good or a question, but I will not "call you out" or share what you do not want shared. That is a promise to you.

New Things Coming- There are A LOT of ideas being floated around right now. Everything from things I’m excited about, to things I do not like. In other words, some of the things would require me to open the OPN up to advertisers to help pay for the changes. This I do not think I like. But debates are going on in my head about it. I’ll let you know what the voices decide {Smile}

Seriously folks. One idea is a Web cam. That’s right, a LIVE OPN. Well, recorded for you to watch live, when it was recorded, but not live when you,,,you get the point. I’m not so sure that the OPNers REALLY want to see me talking. I think they enjoy reading the "Daily Article" but to watch me discuss it and other things, although it would free me up to be more detailed and cover a wider gambit, I’m still not so sure.

What I do know for sure is this, there will be a new segment called "Just My Thoughts." This will debut today. What "Just My Thoughts" is, is exactly that. I will share my thoughts on everything from current events, Religion, food, movies, to the color of the sky. Nothing will be left out. No script, not necessarily a current news story, possibly not even something you care about or understand. Just truly my thoughts. I’m thinking Saturdays will be good for that.

As with anything else here at the OPN, feel free to let me know what you think. As I’ve said before I do this because I want to. I love it. I would write daily even if noone was reading it. But I also care what you think. So let me know. Either here in the comment section, email, IM, or even for those of you that know the number, phone calls.

Q&A-

"Why do you not have more pictures?"

Good question. I tried to do pictures at one time. I even did on a couple articles post pictures. One day I tried to post a picture and had problems with it. I tried to solve that problem and created more. I now post links to the actual news articles that the stories came from, and they most likely have the pictures themselves. But I’ll think about it. It does in some cases look better with pictures. So we’ll see.

"Do you post stuff from your own thoughts or just rehash news from other places? Where do you get the news you comment on?"

Yes and yes. I analyze the news of the day. In other words, just like talk radio, news analysis programs {Like Fox, Rush, Hannity, NPR, ETC.} I talk about and give my opinion of the daily news. I have now started posting links to the article I’m analyzing, so that one can read it for themselves and so that I will not be accused of "Making it my own" which I have been in the past.

Then there is times that I post original stuff. I try to also say, and will make more of a conscience effort to say it, that "in my opinion" or "My take on this is", so that you know it is from me totally.

"Some days I see you post one article and discuss it. Others I see two or three. How come?"

Time. It really is that simple.

"Are you as arrogant as you come across?"

LOL. I get this once in a while. This is why, although true, I tell you that "I AM your voice of simplicity in the complicated world in which we live. Your voice of reason and logic in the insanity that surrounds us, and you gateway to truth." because some people who do not know me say this or that about me. I think with this new segment "Just My Thoughts" you may get a better understanding of who I truly am.

The Million dollar question

"Where is Chief Rowley? As I’ve seen before, something you write about all of a sudden is all over the news. It happened with Chief Rowley too. He wrote about Mico-management and the very next day on the Today Show, the did a whole story on it. Where did he go?"

Good and fair question. The answer is really this simple. Thanks for noticing the connection of what is here and in the news by the way. This is not the first time this has happened. There has been stories I’ve written before and seen all over the place soon after. Maybe Matt is a OPNer. {Smile}

As for Chief Rowley. As I said in his introduction, "He is a busy guy, so he will be here sporadically". There is no schedule. He does not work for me. It was just a fun concept that I thought, make that knew, would be welcomed by you. He is under NO oblation, obligation, contract, or any requirements to be here. If he joins us a agin, GREAT. If not, so be it.

We’ll continue to make improvements and changes at the OPN that I feel will make the OPN even better and work even more towards the goal of "infotainment".

Until next time, hope you enjoy the visiting. Come back often. You never know what you’ll see.
Peter

Doom and Gloom,

Hey folks,

Happy FRIDAY to you all. We made it for another week. But how long will we have left? The world could end any day now. You better run and hind under a table somewhere. We are all going to die.

At least we are if you listen to the news. If what we eat does not get us, you have flooding rains, mud slides, wild fires. The hurricanes here in Florida are more intense than any other time in history. Of course, all this is caused by "Global Warming". Then you have the War. Those around the world that hate us, and want us dead because of President Bush. Even though the terrorist have been attacking us for the past 20 years or so. It’s still Bush’s fault.

If you do not subscribe to any of the above, how about God ending the world soon. Still not convince we are all going to die? OK, according to a new AP article,

"They're out there, hidden among a haze of stars — killer asteroids. Now the world's astronomers are keeping a wary eye to the skies for giant objects on a collison course with Earth.

Experts say there are about 1,100 comets and asteroids in the inner solar system that are at least a half-mile across, and that any one of them could unleash a global cataclysm capable of killing millions in a single blinding flash."

You have to read this article folks. According to Nick Kaiser of the University of Hawaii's Institute for Astronomy, which hopes to train four powerful digital cameras on the heavens to watch for would-be intruders,

"The goal is to discover these killer asteroids before they discover us,"

But the article ends with,

"Bottom line: Mankind may not be able to dodge every cosmic bullet.

"It's through collisions that planets are born," said Giovanni Valsecchi of Italy's National Institute of Astrophysics. "And it's through collisions that planets die."

That’s right folks, we are doomed. We may be able to see them coming, but we cannot stop them. We are all going to die...

Hope you have a happy and safe Friday folks. Live it up. We may not have much longer to live.
Peter
Sorry so Late,

Hey folks,

Sorry that the Friday daily article is so late. I wrote it this morning and tried to get on to post it. It didn't work. There were some computer problems either here or with our friends at Blogspot.com so I couldn't get on. It may have just been routine maintenance, I do not know, but I'm here now. So here you go.

Check outSPIEGEL INTERVIEW WITH JIMMY CARTER What is going on here makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

Even When They Try. They Just Don’t Get IT

Hey folks,

The LWL feels that they have the pulse of the American people. They think they know what it is that we want. Cut and Run. Impeach the President. Stop Illegals from crossing our boarder. So what do they do? They create a 35 second ad trying to point out the "failures" of President Bush. Their new slogan is "Feel safer? Vote for change."

But here is the problem. They are walking a dangerous line of offending one of their own base supporters. According to this AP article,

"A Democratic political ad is under fire from Hispanics who say it unfairly compares Latino immigrants to terrorists.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee sponsored a 35-second ad on its Web site that shows footage of two people scaling a border fence mixed with images of Osama Bin Laden and North Korea President Kim Jong Il."

According to Houston City Councilwoman Carol Alvarado, a Democrat, who sent a letter to DSCC Chairman Sen. Charles Schumer,

"To liken Latino immigrants to bazooka-toting terrorists not only undermines the positive relationship our party has with this community, but also lowers us to a despicable level as breeders of unfounded fear and hatred," Alvarado wrote"

The far left looney fringe is so out of touch, they cannot see that this would be offensive? Where are the more moderate, and sane Democrats? Why are they not apologizing to one of their bases? Oh yeah, ask Lieberman.

Now it is reported that Kerry is revving up his online political machine to raise campaign cash for Democratic Senate nominee Ned Lamont. Kerry said,

"Ned Lamont has caused a national stir by successfully challenging the Bush position on Iraq that ignores the utter failure of the President's policy,"

Yes. But one problem Sen Kerry. I truly believe Lieberman will win. It doesn’t really matter how much you raise, Lamont just will not beat Lieberman in the General Election. Now with your party offending one of your own bases, one would have to wonder if you can win much of anything. As I said before, you need more than "Vote for me, I’m not Bush." You could start with showing how your plan for national security, would have helped prevent another 9-11.

End of The Day Thought

Hey folks,

Do you really have any idea how spoiled we really are? I mean seriously, we truly do not realize how spoiled we have become. Technology plays an intricate part in this.

Think about it. We live in a society where it is too much effort to hold our foot in one position for a period of time. We invent cruse control. Don’t want to get up to change the channel, remote control. Don’t want to wait for food to cook. Microwave. Computers now control most aspects of our lives. Our kids no longer need an imagination. Their toys do everything for them. Don’t want to go to the movies? Buy or rent them. Don’t want to wait? Take them with you with your portable DVD player. Now let’s talk about music. Shall we?

We went from LPs, 8-tracks, cassettes, CDs, and now I-Pods are the rage. Who needs to be able to listen to 15-20 songs when you can listen to 900 plus songs in your pocket. But wait, we’re not done yet. According to a new AP article South Korea is now making Smart cloths.

"Technology-savvy South Korea isn't happy making only MP3 players and the memory chips that go inside many of the more popular models. It also wants people wearing South Korean "smart" clothes with built-in digital music players.

The government is backing efforts to launch the digitized apparel by the end of the year, hoping to win a top position for the country as an exporter of such clothing."

Now you do not even need an MP3 player, I-Pod, or anything else. Just put on your music and go. Is there really a market for this? Of course there is. The South Korean government is counting on it.

"Since 2004, smart-apparel development has involved a range of research institutes, universities and conglomerates with the active support of the South Korean government. The government even has estimated that the global market for digital clothing could be $7 billion by 2014. South Korea wants more than 20 percent of it."

Do you wonder why the world hates us? Because we are spoiled. Now we will have musical cloths? Maybe it is this very reason that we, as a nation, really cannot grasp the concept of other countries situations. Did you know, that according to my friend Tania, something near two thirds of Russians do not have plumbing in their homes? We are talking Moscow. Not some little village in the middle of now where.

It’s really easy to sit back and complain about how bad we have things here. To say that other countries need to see things like we do. It’s real easy sitting in your air conditioned home watching one of your TVs and eating for the third time in the day. We are so spoiled, that we do not even realize how spoiled we really are.

Ohio Voting Problems. Groundwork For Losses

Hey folks,

It’s "Humpday". Only two days to go to the Weekend. Also only 83 days to go to the midterm elections. It seems that Ohio is having some issues with the new electronic voting machines.

According to the AP

"Problems with elections in Ohio's most populous county are so severe that it's unlikely they can be completely fixed by November, or even by the 2008 presidential election, a report commissioned by Cuyahoga County and released Tuesday says.

A nonprofit group hired to review the county's first election with new electronic voting machines found several problems with the May 2 primary, the results of which were delayed six days because roughly 18,000 absentee ballots had to be hand counted.

The absentee ballots had been improperly formatted for new optical scan voting machines. Poll workers also had problems operating the machines, some poll workers didn't show up, vote memory cards disappeared and one precinct opened hours late. Researchers also found that the four sources used to keep track of vote totals on machines did not always add up."

The Election Science Institute (ESI) is a non-profit, non-partisan scientific organization based in San Francisco. It was founded in 2002 under the name Votewatch. ESI monitors public elections in the U.S. to identify voting anomalies which impact election results, and works with election officials to help them improve voting and election systems. In other words, they are the ones the LWL call when they lose.

"An official with the maker of the voting machines, North Canton-based Diebold Inc., said the report was flawed because the researchers did not properly review electronic votes in some cases.

Mark Radke, director of marketing for Diebold subsidiary Diebold Election Systems, also blamed inadequately trained poll workers, saying the totals didn't always add up because some changed memory cards without also changing the paper receipt rolls."

One thing I found reasonable was County elections chief Michael Vu is waiting for ALL the information to be presented, "so that we can make an informed decision to the report as a whole."

Mark my works folks. If the election does not go their way in November, they will be citing this Ohio thing, and they will be crying that "yet another election was stolen" probably suing Diebold in the process. Of course, as always, they will blame Bush.

But I LOVE Them.

Hey folks,

Just something to think about as the day ends. I love a good hotdog. My favorite are the ones on those rotisserie things. I grew up on hot dogs. They were main meals. Still, are on the run, sometimes. I had no problem with them.

But according to this article

"Everyone knows hot dogs aren't exactly healthy for you, but in a new study chemists find they may contain DNA-mutating compounds that might boost one's risk for cancer.

Scientists note there is an up to 240-fold variation in levels of these chemicals across different brands."

The article goes on to talk about differing manufacturing techniques, and the fact that past research had linked them with colon cancer. Hot dogs are preserved with sodium nitrite, which can help form chemicals known as N-nitroso compounds, most of which cause cancer in lab animals.

Now as I read this, I’m reminded of all the times when coffee was bad, good, bad, good, for you. Now? I have no idea. I have Vanilla Nut at my side right now. {Smile} Then Wine? Red good, bad, good, bad outweighs the good, ETC. Carbs good, bad, and what about good fat and bad fat? The point is, they do not even seem to truly know.

What I love is we cannot eat sugar. God, or nature for my atheist friends made sugar. But we can eat this stuff that man created in some lab somewhere? My nutrition plan is simple. I eat what I like. I do not eat what I do not like. It’s simple that way.

So the next time you pass by one of those hotdog venders, think about this. Do you really care? I say just stop, and enjoy the hotdog. But do not stand to close to the curb. You could get hit by a car you know.

Lieberman Playing Politics? Kettle / Black

Hey folks,

Happy Tuesday to you. Sorry I was not able to make it in yesterday. I saw this AP article about 6 am, but not being here, of course I had to bite my tongue. But I'm here now. {Smile}

It made it’s rounds yesterday in it’s normal circles. It wasn’t just Ned Lamont, the anti-war candidate, who just edged out Lieberman by ten thousand votes by LWL followers, but the normal players. But I’m going to focus on the LOOSER in the general elections in November. That’s right, Lamont.

He said,

"My God, here we have a terrorist threat against hearth and home, and the very first thing that comes out of their mind is how can we turn this to partisan advantage. I find that offensive,"

And,

"It surprised me," he said. "It seemed almost orchestrated. It's sort of demeaning to the people of Connecticut. ... I thought the senator and the vice president were both wrong to use that attack (strategy) on the voters of Connecticut."

What did Lieberman say? Lieberman warned that Lamont's call for a phased withdrawal of troops from Iraq would be "taken as a tremendous victory" by terrorists. He was right. Look at what Hezbollah is saying about Israel. It would be the same in this case.

If you remember, the first thing that Lieberman said after the arrests of the terrorists plotting to blow up planes, was,

"This should serve as the latest, most serious evidence that we are in a war against a brutal enemy that intends to attack us over and over again in the most indiscriminate way. The Department of Homeland Security is doing what it was created to do in the face of a terrorist threat: protecting the United States through the implementation of security measures, international cooperation, and coordination with the law enforcement and intelligence communities."

Of course, he was right again. So telling the truth is now offensive? OK, OK, I know. Telling the truth is ALWAYS offensive to the LWL, unless it fits their agenda.

No Mr. Lamont, it’s YOU who is trying, poorly I might add, to turn this into a political advantage. You know that you will have NO chance at all with Lieberman running as an Independent. This is why you and those that support you, are trying so hard to get Lieberman out. But saying that it is Lieberman turning this into partisan politics is absurd. It is you that play to the far left looney fridge. To hell with national security as far as you are concerned. It’s all about attacking President Bush. Lieberman, unlike you, has been proven to be able to set aside political differences, to work together for a common goal. One that is best for the COUNTRY not party. Can you say that?

IWA for Sunday August 13, 2006

Hey folks,

This one is serious folks. If there ever was an idiot award and criminal charges absolutely earned and deserved, this is she. Picture this, you have two kids. You have a routine. You take one kid to daycare, the next to school, and you go to work. You do this every day.

Every day but this day. On Thursday, August 10, Nellier Lima had planned on dropping her son, 21-month-old Harold Lima, off at day care, but he fell asleep, and she did not want to wake him. Instead, she took her 6-year-old daughter to school and let the toddler nap. The problem is, after she dropped her daughter off at school, she went to work.

Lima went on to her job as a housekeeper at several homes and then ran some errands. Police said, she discovered the child around 4 p.m, when Lima was done with her work, she went shopping at the Cedar Pointe Plaza.

Now let me see if I understand this. I have a son. He is now 11 months old. I take him places. I love him more than anything in the world. To think that it would be possible for me to forget him ANYWHERE is ridiculous. But to go to work? A job where you get in and out of your car all day. Then shopping? OK, where are the cleaning supplies kept? Did the child never wake up during all these times she got in and out of the vehicle?

Now a lot of this does not make sense. From what I heard, when the Father was contacted by the Police, his first words were, "The baby’s dead right?" If I was to get a call from the police, it would most likely go like this,

PD "Mr. Carlock? This is the Blank PD."
Me "What can I do for you?"
PD "There has been an accident"
Me "What kind of accident?"
PD " ??????"

So on and so forth. My first thought would NOT be "The baby is dead, right?"

This tells me there is way more to this story. Either she has done this before, in which case she should not have been responsible for the child well being, or the Father just felt that this could be a possibility, in which case she should not have been responsible for the child well being. Could it also be a possibility that this was just a coverup?

Even if this happened exactly as she said, not only is she the "Idiot of the Week" she should be charged with at least neglect as well.

NPR and the LWL, Just Plain Wrong.

Hey folks,

Happy Saturday morning. I have just spent some time listening to the NPR. I listened to Al Sharpton talking about him being a great leader. I listened to people attacking Lieberman. I listened to people continuing to spread the lie that most Americans want us out of Iraq, want to "talk" with the terrorist, think President Bush is doing an atrocious job.

But did you know, that the latest IBD/TIPP Poll, which probed how seriously Americans view the spread of Islamofascism and whether they recognize a need to confront it sooner rather than later, proves other wise. Responses to the IBD/TIPP Poll, indicate that Americans are confronting the threat of radical Islamism with eyes wide open.

51 percent of Americans believe that "militant Islamism is no less a threat in the 21st century than Nazism, fascism and communism were in the 20th century," with 30 percent "strongly" agreeing and an additional 21 percent "somewhat" agreeing. 61 percent are "very concerned about the rising tide of Islamofascism and its desire to establish a worldwide Muslim rule," and 43 percent"agree strongly" and 20 percent "agree somewhat" with this statement.

Will "talking" work? 58 percent do not feel it will. While 58 percent feels that it is Iran that is behind almost all of this, get ready folks, 76 percent feel that Iran must be stopped AT ANY COST from getting nuclear weapons.

What I found even more interesting, is if you look at the just the Democrats in this poll, 52 percent feel that Iran must be stopped. 52 percent feel that America will be backed by the American people for doing this.

Now I want you to think about this. 52 percent of Democrats are calling for ANY means necessary, including military action, to stop Iran. 52 percent is enough to win elections. Ask Lamont.

But the LWL, continue to attack the President, say cut and run, and now, as I predicted, are even down playing the terrorist plot. It was all Briton. However, more and more information is coming out. According to this article,

"Counter-terrorist agencies, which had been monitoring the plotters for 12 months, were last night questioning the suspects about an alleged plot to detonate suicide bombs on five US-bound aircraft.

Some of those detained had been under investigation before for extremist activity."

And,

"Surveillance on internet traffic between the suspected terrorists indicated that they had considered setting off their devices simultaneously in mid-Atlantic but had also discussed trying to blow up the aircraft as they circled above the destination cities. The aim was to cause maximum death and destruction in the air and on American soil."

The US and Briton foiled the plot together. Include NSA, wire tapping. Collection of records. Surveillance. Some of the programs that President Bush put into place.

No I’m sorry NPR, and LWL, Americans get it. We know that, we are at war, we are winning the war. We know that talking will not work. We know that we must win at any costs. You can have all the Far Left Looneys you want, yell and scream, attack and accuse, "cry" in public, and continue to claim they speak for all Americans. But the TRUTH is they are continuously, absolutely, and overwhelmingly, wrong.

Would We Have Had Another 9/11?

Hey Folks,

I fear the answer would have been YES. If the LWL, the cut, surrender, and run, "get Bush" at any cost crowd, was in power. According to Homeland Security, we were just days away from another 9/11.

Twenty four people were arrested in London early Thursday, busting up an alleged terrorist plot to blow 10 U.S. bound jetliners out of the sky over the Atlantic. Or possibly even over land, where the count could have increased. It seems we owe a great deal to an undercover British agent infiltrated the UK based group, and then passed information to authorities.

We owe a great deal to this President for having in place all the security measures that allowed this scenario to take place rather than the one of 9/11. I hope this is a wake up call to those blindly following the LWL crowd who says we need to impeach the President, cut and run, and be nice to these poor little terrorists.

According to the DHS, The suspects allegedly planned to smuggle peroxide based liquid ingredients disguised as sports drinks that could be mixed aboard the flight to produce an explosive compound possibly detonated by a device disguised as a digital camera or audio player. This according to Director Michael Chertoff who appeared on "The Factor." He said,

"I think we were facing the possibility of someone bringing in individual components, each of which would look very innocuous and very common, and literally assembling the bomb in the final minutes on the plane itself."

Mark Mershon, Assistant Director of the FBI, told the AP in New York,

"If this plot had actually occurred, the world would have stood still."

Just like it did on 9/11. President Bush said,

"The recent arrests that our fellow citizens are now learning about are a stark reminder that this nation is at war with Islamic fascists who will use any means to destroy those of us who love freedom, to hurt our nation. Cooperation on this venture was excellent, the cooperation between U.K. and U.S. authorities and officials was solid, and the cooperation among agencies within our government was excellent."

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn. said,

"We must act decisively, aggressively, and innovatively, in a way that will protect Americans and our allies that have stood with us in this fight. The increased security precautions being implemented around the country are appropriate and necessary. We must be on alert so that our nation does not suffer another attack like 9/11."

Sen. Lieberman? He said,

Where is the LWL? Where is Hillary, Dean, Kennedy, etc? What does Lamont think of this? Where is everyone? If President Bush is so wrong in, well, everything, then what do you have to say about American and British agencies stopping another 9/11?
Wait, here you go folks, one is starting to lay the foundation. Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass., who has, at least for now, advocated 100 percent cargo screening on airline flights, said,

"While this terrorist plan may have been thwarted, I still am gravely concerned about gaping aviation security loopholes that continue to put passengers and crew members at risk. While we are fortunate that today's attack appears to have been stopped by vigilant British authorities, today's announcement should be yet another wake-up call to the Bush administration to rapidly close the glaring loopholes that persist almost five years after 9/11."

He seems to be too smart to come out and attack the President right now because Americans ARE just learning about this, but he has laid a foundation. The LWL could, and most likely will, pick it up and run with it. It’s Bush’s fault that the Airport screeners cannot do their job.

They will then probably start denouncing ANY American involvement in this preventive measure, and prevention of another 9/11. None of the President’s plans that have been put into actions, none of his actions post 9/11 had anything to do with it. It was all the British. Then after things die down, and the mass media moves on, they may even start yelling about the infringement of the "rights" of American citizens trying to fly. But right now? Where are they? Where are you Miss Sheehan, Mr. Moore, even Kerry? Why so silent?

They are silent right now because they know, that if they had it their way, the President would be impeached. Our soldiers would be out of Iraq. The Patriot Act would be dead. No tapping, record collections, most likely no Home Land Security We would release most of the "enemy combatants" and give those that hate us, want us dead, and do not care what we think or do, milk and cookies, and we would have woken up today or tomorrow to another 9/11.
